Sueño de amor #12 3/23/16

Well, away we go!

In Ricardo's classroom, he is telling Pámela that after class they will be going to the principal's office to talk about her gluing him to the chair.

Félix makes a point of stopping by Esperanza's room to talk to her. He recognizes her as the one who made the recording of Silvana. He lets her know he is there to supervise Silvana but also tells her he is all about following the rules. Nobody is above the rules. Salma records it all. Silvana spies from the back of the room.

At Ernesto's office he is telling his investigator that he needs him to find out exactly who this Ricardo is; to use all of his contacts. Ricardo knows all about self defense. There has to be more. Viviana comes in wanting to talk about their son Adrián. She cannot get him to come home because he is afraid of Ernesto. They end up arguing as usual. She blames him. He blames her for babying him. For Viviana, the worst part is that her son is with her "rival". Hearing "rival" just makes Ernesto snicker and smirk.

Suddenly back at the school and out of nowherer, Silvana is ragging on Esperanza again but this time it's in response to the video shot by her own rotten daughter Salma. She knows she Esperanza is romantically involved with another one of the teachers and that is prohibited. Esperanza says Salma took a video of her sighing and came up with the "in love" story. Silvana will be on the case and if it is true, Esperanza will be out! When confronted by Esperanza, Salma just denies it.

Tracy stops on by to talk to Silvana (and probably bad mouth Esperanza) but ends up in the application process for a job as an English teacher instead.

In Ricardo's classroom, Félix del Pozo arrives with a little blow on his whistle and a "Buenos días" and an  introduction. He tells the kids he is Félix del Pozo. Smarty Pámela adds "de agua sucia, ewww". ("Pozo de agua sucia" Well of dirty water). Félix explains to Ricardo he was sent by the "patronato" (board of trustees). When he goes to shake Ricardo's hand he wonders why Ricardo does not stand up to meet him half way. Of course, Ricardo cannot tell him he is glued to his seat so he tells him he is having problems with the miniscus in his knees. Félix gives his "all about the rules" talk again. He wonders if "Maestro Alegría" (joy) will be turning into "Maestro Tristeza" (sadness). He leaves. The bell rings. Pámela stays nehind a second to find out that Ricardo won't be going to the office with her right now because he can't. She flippantly tells him to just let her know when and is gone. His own daughter tells him that Pámela is a bad kid. He says no, she is just a little mischievous. She tries to pull the chair off of him with no success.

In her classroom, Esperanza is griping to Pato about Salma's video. The truth about the kiss comes out. Turns out she hasn't been kissed in like seventeen years. She has had no personal relationships since Pato was born. The principal is going to investigate and yada yada yada. Of course Pato is crying again and tells Esperanza about Luca leaving for Harvard next week. Thankfully, Selena comes in and asks Esperanza to come help out her dad.

In the meantime, Félix is popping up from behind walls saying something very strange is going on with Instructor Alegría. He then stops Pámela and one of her friends and informs them of the importance of their uniforms being worn with respect and "pulcritud" (neatness). To help them to that end, he takes out his most powerful weapon: a lint brush. He shows them how it is used. On the way to Ricardo's room, of course, Esperanza and the girls run into Félix who wants to see Ricardo. So she lies about his whereabouts to get him off track. Ricardo is at the medical office. Must be that miniscus problem comments Félix.

When Esperanza arrives at Ricardo's room with Selena and Pato, Ricardo is like a turtle on his back because now the chair has tipped over. They pull this way and that and of course they do not have any success. Next thing his pants rip. "Genius Boy" Ricardo FINALLY decides that he will have to take off his pants. He asks them to get him something to cover himself up with so Félix does not have to see him in his super hero--but super comfy- underwear. He wants another pair of pants. Esperanza goes to get him a towel. Pato tells him she heard all about the kiss and calls him "Mr. Daring".

At Ernesto's office, Ernesto is trying to explain to Viviana that the most important reason that he wants a divorce is because he does not love her. Their relationship was simply a business deal. They both know it. So now she is jealous. What is wrong with her anyway? Viviana says she has been jealous ever since she found out he had a relationship with Esperanza and had a daughter with her. He cannot believe that that is causing her pain; that she loves him. He just laughs in her face and asks her if he needs to remind her of her infidelities. He will not allow her to play the victim in all of this. Viviana insists that does not mean that she cannot feel love, jealousy, pain.  He is not buying it. Esperanza calls in the midst of this mess to set up a meeting with them at their house at 6:00 p.m. to talk about Adrián. Viviana is not happy. Ernesto says it is all for Adrián's sake and shushes her.

Pato leaves the school with Ricardo wrapped in his towel with a "kiltish" look. He has already made a comment about looking Scottish. They run into an old teacher who does not see too well who tells Ricardo how much he loves his new pants. Pato and Ricardo are still talking about Esperamza. Ricardo says the worst thing is that her mother insists that he stay away. Félix appears and wants to know what is going on with the towel.

Back at Ernesto's office, Viviana is gone and Luca is going on about how a particular building project is not going to work for them; lose them money. Ernesto notices how upset he is. It all goes back to him going to Harvard and having to leave Pato behind. Luca is in love with her. Luca brings up Esperanza and how Ernesto feels about her. Ernesto admits would do absolutely anything for Esperanza.

Félix cannot understand what kind of explanation Ricardo could have wearing a towel. They are not at the beach. They are at an academic institution. Ricardo shows him the pants with the hole. Ricardo's explanation: they recently varnished the chair and he got stuck. It was an accident that anyone could have, right? Félix warns him it better be the last time and he will be watching.

Back at the school, Esperanza wants to talk to Adrián. Not possible right at this minute because it is "dance production time"!!! This time Adrián sings/lip syncs too!!! Kiko joins in bopping away in his wheel chair. The song is "Lo siento". ("I am Sorry")It is for Estrella who was taken there under false pretenses. The performance does not do the trick eventhough Estrella smiles weakly during it. Adrián asks if she will forgive him. She does not know. She leaves.

At Ricardo's house, he suspects something is up with Tracy: she is hiding something. He tells her so. She denies it and actually smiles and is "un-pissy faced" for a moment.

Esperanza tells Adrián about the meeting with his parents. He says she does not know his dad. She disagrees. Viviana appears and tells Esperanza that they need to talk.

Silvana informs security she wants all of the security tapes where Esperanza appears. She is going to find out exactly who Esperanza iss. What? No cameras in the teachers' lounge? No, but the rest of the recordings are now on her hard drive.

Ricardo is driving and notices he is being followed. He manages to lose Ernesto's investigator.

At the De la Colina house meeting in the library, Viviana wants to talk to Esperanza first. She begs her to PLEASE leave Ernesto alone. Esperanza tells her she never ever knew Ernesto was married. She is very sorry for what happened years ago. If she had known she never would have gotten involved with him in the first place. When Ernesto arrives, Viviana throws herself in Ernesto's arms. Esperanza tells Ernesto that she and Viviana talked and she wants Ernesto to stay away from her.

At the super secret police headquarters Ricardo and a female officer are scanning the drawings made by La Sombra and Pámela. It cannot be! They match! He concludes Pámela is the daughter of La Sombra.

Back at Ernesto's, Luca passes on through to tell Adrián that he is off to Harvard next week so he wants him to get along better with their parents before he leaves. Adrián is called to the library to talk with the three adults. Esperanza acts as social worker telling Adrián he has to be honest about his feelings. He tells Ernesto that he feels like he does not love him. Before he can answer his son, Ernesto gets a phone call from his investigator:  Ricardo knew he was being tailed and he reacted like he had been specially trained to react: like a police officer. Ernesto is shocked amd just looks at his phone.

At the super secret police headquarters, Ricardo is talking about who attacked him. He knows they were professionals and he suspects he has been threatened by Ernesto not La Sombra. Ricardo wants to get proof against Ernesto. The female officer with him reminds him they cannot put the  La Sombra investigation to the side especially now since he got near his son Rodrigo(!!!). It seems that is a sore point for Ricardo: she (the officer) should have made sure that  cameras and alarms were installed to protect his children. Ricardo now is looking at license plate numbers on the computer. The female officer tells him that they found the vehicle. It will take a while to find out who was driving it.

Erasmo is cleaning up after work. He is off to go see Kristel.

At the Guerrero house, Pedro, Nacho and Adán (the stooges) are having Pato (Pedro is just watching) taste test all of their tortas (sandwiches). Her favorite is the "chilorta" ? (chilaquiles and milanesa).

Back at the library, Ernesto is talking about Adrián ending up in rehab. Esperanza has to ask him to lower his voice. Viviana is also worried about Adrián's alcohol use. Esperanza tries to tell them it part of the same problem. Adrián needs needs more than Viviana's kisses: he needs lots of attention, love, acceptance, understanding, support. As a family they have to be committed to change. Viviana does not know what Esperanza expects of her. Ernesto says there she is; just thinking of herself again. Suddenly Ernesto and Viviana are screaming amd arguing with each other until Luca shouts at them to stop and promise to change for Adrián's sake.

Ricardo drops on by the Guerrero house where the stooges are still sandwich making. Pato answers the door and it is Ricardo who is asking for her assistance with his "plan". His "love plan?" she asks. He knows that love is shown by deeds and he wants to show her mother that he loves her. Pato's phone rings. It is Luca. She does not answer. She has to get her feelings straight. She wants to know  more about Ricardo's plan..

Comments:
Wow! When I joked about Silvana AND Tracy working together against Esperanza yesterday I though I was just being funny. Guess I was psychic, too.

Common sense: if your heel gets stuck in a grate in the side walk you take off your shoe; if your car gets stuck on a train track, you get out of your car; if your pants get glued to a chair, you take off your pants. Oh well, it ate up a lot of time. : )

Now we know for sure that Pámela is the daughter of La Sombra.

Now off to correct so,e of the typos!

. . . SOME of the typos! Funny!

It might be raining outside, but in my heart I am happy because we are going to start commenting this thing.

Thanks for the recap.

According to the logic in some of the character's names, taken right from native american folclore, Ernesto de la Colina should be ARMANDO CASAS instead.

Esperanza Guerrero ( because she has Hope and is a Warrior)
Ricardo Alegría (because is like Kracy pronounces Richerd and he always has Joy no matter what life throws at him)
Feliz del Pozo (because his hole is always Happy?)
Silvana Fierro (because she is strong and does not bend easily like iron?)
Ernesto de la Colina (because he is from the Hill? HOw about Armando Casas -Building Houses) Makes more sense! Is stupid, but makes more sense along with everything else so far.

Esperanza: Yes I know Ernesto very well. Please tell me exactly how if you had a night stand 17 years ago and haven't seen him ever since or had contact with, according to you. Does that makes somebody know the other person THAT WELL?? Seriously?

Viviana kept calling Esperanza ''Panchita'' or ''Pachita'' maybe on purpose since her role is absent mindedly stupid, the right one should have been ''Pelanchita''

Kiko moving his head like one of those dogs for the dashboard was very funny!!

Jarifa, your excellent recap was such a treat this morning. Your affection for the show is very evident by your enthusiasm and perfect word choices.

"She denies it and actually smiles and is "un-pissy faced" for a moment" and the sage "Common sense: if your heel gets stuck in a grate in the side walk you take off your shoe; if your car gets stuck on a train track, you get out of your car; if your pants get glued to a chair, you take off your pants" were among my favorites.

"Turns out she hadn't been kissed in like seventeen years. She has had no personal relationships since Pato was born. Yikes." My sentiments exactly! No wonder she was savoring that kiss - that is a long time to go without kissing's sweet sensations.

"Erasmo is cleaning up after work". Yes, doesn't he clean up well?? Sigh.

Enjoyed Esperanza trying to help the troubled Adrián. I still can't fathom why his father seems to loathe him so much? Difficult to watch.

I think Viviana does care about Ernesto. Infidelity is rampant among the villains and near villains, isn't it? In fact, it's almost a requirement :)

I enjoyed Pato's sandwich sampling. Sometimes the things that are the simplest are fun to watch. Maybe it's me but I don't need drama every single minute.

Pablo, thanks for explaining "Pelanchita".

Jarifa, thank you for brightening my day.

Diana

Pablo, I loved your "Armando Casas". They really missed it on that one.

Thanks, Diana, I so agree about the simplest things being fun to watch and not needing drama all the time. Looks like Osorio has really tried to make this something for the whole family: alot of silly and nothing too scary.

Well, off to more mundane pursuits!

Many thanks for another witty recap, Jarifa! And much appreciation for taking one for the team: I can't believe you had yet another instance of Musturd Dancing during your night! :D

All of those shots of Kiko seat-dancing and bobbing his head uncontrollably is a little taster of what will expect us when he recovers and walks again. Que la Virgen de la Paz nos ampare.

Thank you for translating what Pamela said to Félix. Does anybody get the impression she is speaking some kind of intelligible Scandinavian-sounding jibberish? I resent Osorio for turning this lovely child into a mumbling super-fresa with bad attitude and compulsive finger-snapping!

You invoked the joining of forces between Tiroloco Kracy (I'm stealing this, Pablo!) and Principal Crazy-Eyes and now there'll be an overload of crazy in that school! Que la Virgen de la Paz nos ampare.

I'm having trouble with the Viviana character, I feel it's being taken in many contradictory directions but I agree with Diana on this point: "I think Viviana does care about Ernesto. Infidelity is rampant among the villains and near villains, isn't it? In fact, it's almost a requirement :)" She also seems to care a great deal about her children but she just doesn't give them the time of day.

One last minor detail before I go, Ricardo addressed the female agent (Lopsided Bobcut) on the phone as Triana. I also heard him call her Agent Fonseca a few episodes ago; so Lopsided Bobcut or Female Agent now has a name: Triana Fonseca.

Have a great day y'all! :)

Pablo, thanks for "Armando Casas"! Just like Jarifa, I'm left scratching my head as to how Osorio could have possibly missed this!

Thanks! Wait until you met ''Daisy Appletrees'' And I wish I was making this one up!

Thanks, Nandicta, for the name of the female officer. Yes, "Que la Virgen de la Paz nos ampare." You always make me laugh.

Pablo, Margarita Manzanos? Really? Very funny!

Thank you, Jarifa, great recap and a very funny read, especially the part about Ric's clothing problems.

Pablo, I think Espe and Ernie had a full blown affair, which she thought was a relationship until she found out he was married.
Not dating for the past 17 years seems a little extreme, but look at her track record : first guy leaves the country and disappears from the face of the Earth; second guy dies while she's pregnant; third guy is married and impregnates her again in less than a year after first child is born. So poor Espe realized that she's :
1. Super fertile
2.Super bad at picking men
3.Super busy with raising two babies, being a teacher and running around all day with different errands for her many aquaintances. So men had to take a back seat. No wonder she almost fainted when Ric kissed her. I'm hapilly married and I nearly faint every time Ric as much as smirks at the screen. Sigh. ...

Thanks, Jarifa! Muy bien hecho.

Are we sure Ric is a good guy? Usually it's only the supervillain agencies that splurge on the sci-fi interiors. I guess now we know why the war on drugs is failing miserably; the police are spending all their money on the latest in fancy screens and dramatic lighting and new pants.

Also, Ricardo is not very good at being undercover. All the show-off evasive driving screams "I'm a cop! I have something to hide! Follow me!" He should have just parked someplace mundane, gone into a busy market or something como si nada, slipped through the crowd as if he were only doing his shopping, and walked out another exit and grabbed a taxi once he'd lost the goon. Or something.

Espe, I know you mean well, but I'm not sure you can cure an abusive parent by telling him he needs to love his kid. It takes more than a Sueño de Amor to change a family dynamic.

I still don't understand the point of making chilaquiles into a sandwich. Isn't that excessively starchy? Carbs on carbs.

-- Adriana: You enumerated some pretty compelling reasons for Esperanza leaving the dating game. I'll add another one: Her Super obsession with the guy who abandoned her for 20 years without so much as a goodbye post-it.

-- Julia: You're right, all the show-offy super secret agent stuff is so exaggerated it's risible. Then again, this is an Osorio three-ring circus, so everything is to be expected.

As regards your query about "Chilortas" and the appeal of carbs on carbs, I used to ask this same question when I lived in Scotland and England and was exposed to some examples of the local "cuisine". I was introduced to "chip butties" (a sandwich made of greasy chunky potato fries between two pieces of buttered white toast with ketchup), "Macaroni (scotch)pie" (macaroni and cheese in a lardy pie), "beans on toast" (baked beans in tomato sauce served over buttered toast) and "stovies" (Scottish potato stew with onions and leftover shredded roast beef served with oatcakes). I'm ashamed to say that after initially mocking these "dishes", I tried and liked them all! I even tried battered deep-fried haggis and I still love it to this day! Oh the shame, the shame, the delicious shame!

Pablo, Margarita "Manzanares" played by another Osorio favorite: Carmen Salinas.

Adriana, I enjoyed you enumerating Esperanza's track record.

Julia, you are so right that by just telling Ernesto not to be how he is inherently is not going to change anything. He may die in this novela before that happens !

Nandicta, sounds like you are quite the adventurous eater. I will try anything once and have been pleasantly surprised more often than not.

Oh, dear... Carmelita Salinas, our mexican Meryl Streep, jajaja!

Where else than in Mexico people have the biggest ice skating ring in winter and the biggest artificial beach with sand and everything in summer when most of the people dont have running water even for the toilet? Forget about drinking or brushing your teeth

Where else people fight for the rights of the unborn child but once is on the streets starving, being killed and/or selling themselves to survive nobody cares anymore?

Where else they try to beat obesity charging a huuuuge tax on soft drinks but keep eating tortas de tamal and chilortas?

MEMO TO OSORIO: A LOT MORE Erasmo and MUCH LESS three stooges.

Jarifa, Thank you again. Am loving all the information shared by the patio peeps. Pablo you made some good points in your last statement!

Jarifa thanks so much for the recap.

I get not dating for 17 years after the first guy goes for a pack of cigarettes and never returns, the second dies and the third is married. Tough for a woman in her early 20's, whew. That said, Esperanza is a smart, hardworking, attractive woman that should have no problem attracting plenty of great men and I cannot believe she would settle for someone like Tricky Ricky. Yuck.

I agree; right now at least, Ric is not such a catch, even if he does wear superhero skivvies. He still lives in the same house with his wife!

I know getting the actual divorce decree can take a long time and why wait for the government to let you live your life, but I think you at least need to get your personal situation taken care of before you take up with someone new. As in getting the first wife out of your home and making sure the kids are coping well and they are settled. And maybe don't tell your young children things that could endanger you or them. Even if you have a special bond with your children, don't bet your life on an 8-year-old's ability to keep a secret!
