I figured that ass gave Dani a hot dose of something because he is trying to destroy Art. He must have some serious connections in Mexico. That was not just cocaine.

I take it you're still disenchanted with the new tender-hearted version of Eladio. Como sea. Thanks too for letting us know that Dani's behavior after snorting cocaine is not typical. But man, I thought she was going to flatline, while Regina and David kept murmuring "tranquila" and "respira".

So did the vengeful Americano lace the drugs with something else? Here they're killing folks by combining heroin with fentanyl. On cocaine, I'm completely stumped.

And yes, Gaby's red dress was "interesting". Not even room for a chapstick in there as Maggie would say. Skin-tight. Did not improve her brain functioning evidently.

Cynderella, simply amazing title. I am in awe.

I actually loath Caridad more than I do Franco. At least Franco knows he’s a no-good snake. Caridad thinks she's an angel. Fingers crossed Gaby is not buying Franco's act. The way he threw that check at her says it all about his disrespect of her.

Not sure why folks think Franco is a killer. First, he's supposedly going to kill Humberto rather than pay blackmail, than he's supposedly going to kill Gaby to be rid of her. I like that he's a bad guy that scams and tries to use his brain, no matter how warped it may be. Any idiot can kill and a character like that would be downright boring.

I worried for any birds that might drink out of the fountain. Too bad Dani didn't flush the poison down a toilet.

High point - Nina smacking Ashmore and running him out of her house.

I didn't half pay attention to the show while it was on, but I read the recap twice. I just hope none of the local birdies decide it is bath time in the fountain. We might have some birdicide.

Couldn't agree with you more: "Perfect Dave (except that he is destroying the relationship of two sisters)" Yes, both Franco and Dave are sick. If Dave really loved Regina, he would have stayed far away from her sister.

Kendra, you are so right that this show should be renamed. I can't believe how grown people would continue to lie about sleeping with each other just to stick it to their exes.

I don't like Ashmore at all but I also hate how everyone blames him for Daniela's actions. She was going out and getting drunk well before she met him, it was her choice to take drugs, Ashmore didn't force them down her throat (or up her nose). She's not a child. It just reinforces Daniela's "it's everyone else's fault" attitude. I'm glad they dragged her to rehab but I was hoping she would die. I was more worried about the coke in that fountain hurting someone else too.

Franco and Gaby: Gaby knows that Franco is a liar and yet she still gets on a high horse when Augustin tells her what he was trying to do? How stupid can she be? Then she swears she's not like her tia Julia but she has still allowed Franco to disrespect her multiple times even before they got married. Hooker dress aside, I was glad she showed she had some brain cells when she started going through Franco's suit jacket. I really hope she starts to get more and hires an investigator to follow Franco around.

Can we get a DIE Caridad DIE chant going? How can she claim to care about Gaby's and Franco's marriage and yet go and visit her son's mistress and illegitimate child? Then she has to go and screech at Eladio about their evil spawn. El Callao needs to make her go away.
 

Mouth Breather and Frankenfurter should be together. Heartless greedy turds, it would be fun to see which one sneaks and kills the other in his/her sleep.

Lily: I agree a hundred percent. I have said tongue in cheek forever that drugs are the method by which humanity purifies the gene pool. In all but a tiny few cases nobody held you down.

A case her in FloriDuh three teens are out at four AM in a stolen car. They see a police car, which does NOT give chase, but speed away anyway. They crash into a pond and drown. The parents are blaming the police who could have done nothing short of turning on the squad car cloaking device.
 

After Nina slapped the taste out of Assmore's mouth, why was he able to get back in the Montenegro house, go through the house and come into the back yard to give Daniela the super size bag of coke?

What kind of broke down security do these people have? You'd think after EJ's kidnapping they would've beefed up security, if only for the baby's sake.

I know Arturo has gotten (deservedly) bad press for the way he raised his children, from a distance without emotional connection. In fairness, Eladio ruled rather tyrannically. He treated David with distain and for heaven's sake, said for most of his life David wasn't even his son. He had Franco closer to him (to verbally abuse) yet never acknowledged him. I feel that of the two, Arturo was a slightly better father although while he didn't verbally abuse Miguel, he never stopped Nina, Erick and Dani from doing so.

I kept thinking why on earth was Ashmore giving Dani jewelry at this point (?) He certainly picked the right "weapon" for retribution, didn't he? I think Dani was genuinely trying to change but it was too early to gift her with the drug and for her to have the willpower to say no. She did try at first, to her credit.

Julia looked lovely last night. That black and ice blue dress was beautiful. Now if Arturo has any insight, he should feel and see that Julia's actions and expressions are not that of a woman in love.

I still don't like her. Anyone that stands by Erick and Daniela against Regna and Consuelo just isn't good. It's that simple. However I have laid off the Nina bruja's partly out of fear that you would knock my Frida prickly pear margarita into my lap. Not only would I get my shirt and pants wet but the worst thing is that they're too good to waste.

Totally agree with you Niecie about Caridad. Why is she so concerned that Franco stay married to Gaby? Eladio wanted them to stay together as to keep Julia happy but now with the divorce that should be out of the picture. Franco straight up told Caridad that he only married Gaby for her money and name. He has a child with another woman. If Caridad truly cared about Gaby she would want Franco to divorce Gaby.

I was sure Dani was going to die. I figured Ashmore probably gave her some bad coke but I guess he was just hoping the amount he gave her (that was a huge bag!) would do the trick.

Could poor Dani be the person that brings these two families together and stops the Art and Eladio bs train? Would be nice if they teamed up and went after Ashmore.

Gaby, gaby, you are an idiot.

I kinda hope Julia and Art sleep together and it turns out awful. Then maybe Art will let Julia go.

Eladio tells Caridad that he doesn't have to intervene with Dave because Dave is perfect (except that he sleeps with two sisters and making their family choose sides).

Eladio says that both sons were nurtured, educated and lived under the same roof.  Perfect Dave (except that he is destroying the relationship of two sisters) chose his own path, supported himself and became the exact opposite of Eladio.  Franco took on all of Eladio's bad traits. 

Except for one thing: There was no sisters' relationship to destroy. Daniela has been deliberately coming on to Regina's boyfriends -- and fiance -- from the first day they began noticing boys.

Cocaine can have the effect we saw if done in excess. If there is something else mixed into it that increases its toxicity we might find out in an episode or two.

I don't think a lot of time elapsed between Nina slapping Assmore and his return with the jewelry box. However, she should have told Petra and Obdulio that he is never to be admitted again. There is also the possibility that he could have returned and that it is possible to enter the garden without first going through the house.

Some of us predicted what Assmore's revenge would be and as soon as he came with the jewelry box I knew. Daniela makes enough dinero to buy her own jewelry.

Just a warning that tonight's writeup will be late because I have an accountant appointment late this afternoon.

Also, Daniela is spazzing out, blood dripping out of her nose. What does Regina do? Call Nina? Call Arturo? Call the ambulance?

No, she just holds Dani and tells her "tranquila."

Why did it take so long for Nina & Arturo to get to the rehab clinic? It was daytime when David & Regina took Dani to the clinic. David left. David came back, it was night time, and that's when Arturo, Nina & Eladio showed up. Was that because Arturo, Nina and Eladio were otherwise occupied or was it because Regina didn't call them ASAP?

I can't imagine Nina not dropping everything and running to the clinic ASAP for Daniela, especially after the spazzing episode from last week.

David turned out to be a mostly responsible YOUNG man because of Julia's nurturing. (remember, outside of Arturo & 'em, none of the young set should be any older than 25-26 years old (Miguel).

Julia distanced herself from Franco when he began to show Eladio's bad traits; he never got the benefit of a mother's love.

Franco would've turned out bad whether he was raised by Eladio or not. If he had been raised by Gisela he probably would've ended up a street thug and if he had been raised by Caridad she would've been constantly smothering him.

There is no excuse for the Montenegros not to have beefed up security around their house, in light of the baby's kidnapping. Viewerville knows the kidnapping was a sham but the Montenegros don't.

If Arturo is more fixated on why Nina is with Eladio than Dani sniffing up a big bag of coke, I see why Daniela would run to Eladio. And if Arturo starts getting jealous that the wife he threw away is getting attention from Eladio or anyone else, he needs to be brought back down to earth.

I blame Julia partly for Franco. He came to her as a baby. If she had embraced him fully as her child I don't think he would have turned out this way. She kept her distance from him, using Eladio's treatment of David as her excuse, and thus treated him as an outsider. There is no evidence that they were ever close and then a rift came. We know she thinks Eladio treated him better than David and it looks like that is true. But it looks like she took that out on Franco, which wasn't his fault as a child. If she believed Eladio was not treating both of them equally then it was her job to make sure that they were. Instead she added to the rift.
 

Yeah, I can see Julia pampering David and giving sponge baths while baby Franco got hosed off outside on the patio.

Thanks for another hilarious and extremely enjoyable recap. Wickedly funny.

Cocaine withdrawal can be uncomfortable and most often results in severe depression but alone doesn't result in death... cocaine overdose can be deadly often resulting in seizures, stroke, or heart attack. The cocaine that most users get hold of is almost never pure, but Ashmore may have been intending to kill her by giving her a large quantity of pure cocaine. For me this would make Ashmore far more evil than any of our other characters.

Concern for the birds is understandable but how about Regina's turtle? What if Petra decides to take im for a swim in the fountain? I imagine that a convulsing turtle is not a pretty sight... or maybe he'll just swim really fast.

Susanlynn, PyP should end April 29th. We are on #122 of #136 episodes. Which means there are 14 episodes left. After PyP, we will be getting "Yago" (which starts May 2nd) with Ivan Sanchez. Univision has been airing promos for "Yago" during the commercial breaks of PyP.

Franco came to Casa Gomez-Luna at the age of three. He was not an infant; he would have been a handsome little boy with a subtler version of that alpha-male square jawline. He may or may not have spent a few months with Gisela before she sold him to Eladio in exchange for her monthly stipend.

I completely agree that had that not happened he would have ended up as a street thug.

I don't think Julia ever treated him cruelly; that would be contrary to her nature. She may, however, have favored David because Eladio rejected him.

As to why nobody seemed to call an ambulance for Daniela, I don't know that I would if I were Regina. Daniela has never been anything but nasty to her.
