Pasión y Poder Capitulo #121 Friday, April 8th 2016 Hey, Guess What? My BF (Who is your ex) is a better lover than my ex (Who is now your BF). Hehehehe.

My BF is accompanying my ex and me to Monterrey. Darn.

Yamila tells Regina that she'll need more construction workers over in Monterrey. As luck would have it, Regina's BF is also her contractor, so Jorge will be tagging along to Monterrey with Regina and her ex-boyfriend, David. Regina, is uh, not too thrilled with the idea, and her face says more than a thousand words. But does Turtle Boy realize it? Nah.

Over at GLA.. Eladio has admitted to having done the deed with Nina. And Julia.. well she's NOT taking the news so well. She can't believe that Eladio has shamelessly admitted to it. Eladio reminds Julia that she's his EX and he did promise her that he'd tell no more lies. He then accuses her of having fooled around with Arturo (while still married to him) when she and Arturo saw each other over at the beach. She denies it, but he's not buying that story. He turns to head to his chair, and she grabs him by the arm, and wants to know why he got involved with Nina. Was it to get back at Arturo?! Was it to bother her?! He replies that he doesn't get what her problem is, they are divorced and each can do as they please. She turns around from him, and can't believe that he's being sooo stupid! (Honestly, I can't either, this little game of spiting your ex, is sooo high school, sheesh!) She then accuses him of doing this to get back at her for something she didn't do. We see as Eladio wants to reach out to gently put his arms on her shoulders, but he fights the urge to do so, and instead tells her that he's discovering what a marvelous woman Nina is. Oh, boy! Now Julia, who has been wearing her wedding bands, takes them off, and returns them to him, telling him that this was the last thing that was left of their marriage. She tells him that he can go ahead and stay with The Marvelous Nina and leaves the office. Now alone, Eladio talks to himself, saying that Julia hasn't realized that no woman as a marvelous as Julia is. He then professes his love for Julia. A love that he will always feel.

Meanwhile, Chimp Boy is seen paying off Pedro, the thug. Erick wants his mama's jewels back, but Pedro is no fool, he knows that he'll get whacked if he returns them. He'll keep the jewels because they're his guarantee that no harm will come to him. Erick tells Pedro that he doesn't want to see his face again. Well, too bad, because that will depend on when Pedro has run out of money.

Gaby meets Agustín for coffee and gets tutored on business. Agustín explains that someone would need a poder de dominio in oder to sell her parents shoe factory without her consent. Gaby flashes back to when Franco got her to sign that poder over to him. (Will the fool finally begin to open her eyes in regard to her Mr. Right? Oh, I hope so) Agustín advises her not to give Franco that kind of poder if that's what she's planning. (Uh, oh, too late for that!) He has seen cases where a spouse takes advantage of their significant other and sells it all without giving their spouse a cent (or peso, in this case).

It's not that I'm quiet. I just don't like your face. - Callao to Franco

Scaredy-Cat Marcos, is shaking in his cheap dress shoes, and has a bad feeling about the checks he has just written to the company that Franco has formed. Franco tries to calm the scaredy-cat down and reminds him of the [not so] generous 10% he'll be receiving. At that moment, Callao enters the scene, and Franco pretends to be barking other work related orders to Marcos, who leaves the office. Now alone with Callao, Franco butters him up, telling him that all employees should be as efficient as he is. They should also be as quiet as he is. Hehehehe. Franco tries to see if Callao would help him out in whacking Pedro, the thug, if Pedro continues to bug him.

At GM, Arturo tries to discipline Erick and make him see that if he is a strict with him, it's because it's for The Chimp's own good. (Obviously, Arturo hasn't heard of that old saying: "You can't teach an old dog new tricks, or in this case you can't teach an old chimp new tricks") Arturo reminds Erick how Erick had promised to help his old man grow the family business and protect it from GLA. But what did Erick do?! He went and sold private info to GLA. Erick is sick and tired about being told off for the same thing over and over again. Arturo tells Erick that he wants him [his idiot son] as his support system in business, just like, Franco and David are Eladio's support system. He then asks his idiot son to take a look at Nina's proposal and give his input on it. Erick is surprised that his mom came up with it, as is Arturo. Arturo hopes that Nina was really behind it, and that, well... nah, Eladio would NEVER do anything to benefit GM.

Gaby arrives at GLA and gives Franco the third degree. She wants to know how much he got for her parents shoe factory and wants him to pay up. He offers to give it to her tomorrow. But she wants it NOW.

Nina and Eladio talk about how they each told their ex, that they slept with one another. They both decide to continue to behave like two immature high school kids by continuing to spite their exes by making them believe that they are together. Yeah, they're kids might judge them, but they're still doing it. They decide that for this to work they'll have to been seen together. So Eladio asks Nina out for a bite to eat at The Max (Saved By The Bell).

Franco acts offended that Gaby doesn't trust him. It's not like she's dealing with a complete stranger. He's her husband for crying out loud! He claims that he's out of checks and Gaby backs down with insisting on getting her check TODAY when she sees that he's cancelling his work appointments so he can go to the bank to get a check so he can write her one. She agrees to get it tomorrow and tells him that she hates it when he hides things from her. He says that he has realized that he'll have to tell her everything he does.

Eladio and Nina put on a show for GLA when they exit the offices arm in arm. Both Caridad and Gaby see this. Gaby thinks it's odd that Eladio is now with Nina. Changing the subject, Gaby decides to vent about her husband with her mother in law, because your mother in law is the person you want to talk to when you want to vent about HER son. Oh Gaby! Gaby tells Caridad how she and Franco got into another spat over the sell of her parents shoe factory. Gaby says that Franco hasn't told her how much he got for the factory and told her that he was out of checks when she asked him to pay up. Gaby doesn't know what to think because Franco is behaving like the offended one.

I shouldn't have eaten that taco during lunch.

Scaredy-Cat Marcos arrives from the bank and informs Franco that he has made the deposits to their company. He hands Franco the vouchers. Franco tells him to write himself a check so he can get his [not so] generous 10%. Franco wants the rest of the money in his account ASAP so he can pay Gaby.

Caridad defends her spawn. (What else is new?) She tells Gaby that there has to be some explanation for all of this. Gaby is still upset and hurt because Franco hid things from her. If he hid this, then what else could he be hiding?! Gaby wonders. Caridad puts her hands to her face, then reminds Gaby that Franco loves her. At that moment, Caridad's phone rings, and it's the Mouth Breather. Caridad doesn't answer. Caridad confirms that Franco is indeed out of checks and convinces Gaby to wait until tomorrow to get her check. If she doesn't get it, then Caridad will talk to Franco, and find out what happened. Gaby agrees to wait until tomorrow.

Eladio and Nina wine and dine and talk about becoming associates and starting up a new business. Nina is excited about starting her own business, a business that will be separate from Arturo.

Hummy rolls into Julia's room and finds her in tears. She is sad and disappointed in Eladio. She admits that she couldn't bring herself to get together with Arturo in Las Vegas because she stupidly thought that she and Eladio could get back together. She tells Hummy that Nina and Eladio slept together. Hummy's not surprised, Eladio has always been a womanizer. Hummy is just glad that Julia has finished being disappointed in Eladio. He advises her to wipe her tears and to move on with her life. And she wipes her tears!

Nina loves the idea of starting her own business with Eladio. Well, okay, she also loves the idea of this bugging Arturo. Hehehehe. Nina tells Eladio that she has learned a lot from him and would love to continue to see him. He has enjoyed seeing her. Nina tells Eladio about her proposal for GM, and she hands him a USB, so he can take a look at it and give her his thoughts on it. Nina would love for the business she and Eladio are about to start up to not have anything to do with what GM and GLA do.

I told my mom many times that I don't look good in red. - David
Yeah, you look like my dad. - Daniela

Daniela tells David that Gaby sounded sad when she called her up to take her out on Girls Day Out. David is glad Daniela told her that Gaby sounded sad. He'll be calling up Gaby to see what's up. Anyway, Regina shows up, and Daniela lets her know that she'll be tagging along to Monterrey. Regina lets David and Daniela know that Turtle Boy will be coming along as well. David is NOT amused. Daniela is glad to hear that. Hey, maybe the four of them can go out on a double date, sometime. Regina doesn't think so. She and Turtle Boy will be shacked up in their hotel suite 24/7. (Yeah, Regina actually said that about being shacked up in the hotel, it's high school all over again with these people, sheesh, they all need to grow up already!)

Nina suggests starting a business where they can import luxury items. Eladio likes the idea. He tells Nina that she'll have to put up some capital in order to start her business. Nina knows. In fact, she was thinking about selling some of the properties that Arturo left her. Eladio thinks it's a good idea, but points out, that if she wants to start her business right away, she'll have to sell something that she has on hand. *cough GM shares *cough Nina asks if he means, her GM shares, and he replies that yeah, that's a good example. Alright, Nina will sell him a part of her shares. Eladio likes that- it's a good start, he says.

Regina doesn't want David to be mean to Turtle Boy in Monterrey. Well, it's not like David will have to see the Turtle's face, anyway. Uh, well, he will, Regina tells him. Because Turtle Boy will be working with them. Well, as long as Turtle Boy does a good job, then they won't have problems, David tells her. David has to head off to work so he kisses Daniela goodbye in front of Regina. Regina pouts. Yawn. David takes his leave and Daniela leaves too. Petra, who was in the background, approaches Regina, and comments on deciding against falling in love when she sees how much Regina suffers. Obdulio, on the other hand, thinks about getting married, when he sees a couple (like Daniela and David) so in love. (Obviously, Obdulio hasn't been told about the Montenegro's dirty little secrets.) Regina, still pouting, leaves. Petra explains to Obdulio how Daniela's BF used to be Regina's BF.

Eladio and Nina agree that NO ONE must know that she sold him some shares. (So someone is bound to find out, I guess.) Eladio leaves to take a call and Nina takes a call soon afterward. Daniela is Nina's caller and she tells her mother that Jorge is tagging along to Monterrey. Nina is still not too happy about Regina dating Jorge, but if Regina is happy, then oh well. Daniela tells Nina about her plans to go shopping for clothes for Monterrey with Luli. Nina tells Daniela about her plans to stop by the beauty salon.

Arturo and Agustín both agree that Nina's proposal is a good one. However, Arturo knows Eladio is somehow behind it, so he doesn't want to support it. Arturo fears that Eladio will take advantage of Nina being naive in business to somehow harm him.

Petra agrees to gossip about the Montenegro's family secrets to Obdulio if he does some chores for her including cleaning her bathroom.

OMG. Regina and Consuelo are talking about Regina's relationship trouble AGAIN. YAWN. To make this short, Regina has realized that she should have fought for David's love and married him despite everything. Consuelo urges her to do something about it, but Regina won't. She won't separate Daniela and David and will try and get closer to Jorge. Oy vey.

Assmore tries to get a loan from Eladio. He tries to sweeten the deal, by offering his help to bring down Arturo. Bwahahaha. But Eladio doesn't need Assmore's help. He (himself) is more than enough to get the job done. As for the loan, well he won't give it to him, because Assmore got involved with a young girl, and enabled her drug addiction.

Agustín hands Arturo The Assmore Report. Turns out that Assmore is clean and has no criminal record in NY. Agustín will be digging to see if Assmore has a criminal record in other places he has lived. Arturo wants Agustín to write up a letter asking Assmore for the money they need to start building the next hydroelectric plant. Arturo was going to loan Assmore the money, but not anymore, not after Assmore seduced and slept with HIS daughter.

Assmore claims that Daniela is an adult and knew what she was doing. Eladio doesn't agree. He accuses Assmore of taking advantage of Daniela feeling alone and not having her father's support. Assmore doesn't think they should mix the personal with business. Eladio reminds him that he's shady in business too. Has Assmore forgotten about the bribe he accepted from Arturo?! Eladio suggests they not make this any bigger, reminding him that he's the BA president. He then kicks Assmore out of his office. Assmore leaves.

Gaby gets a text from Franco where he tells her that he'll be home late. Gaby calls up Agustín and asks to see him.

Clara wants to hire Obdulio as the caterer for her wedding. FF -->

I'm meaner than the girls on Mean Girls.

Nina runs into Julia at the beauty salon and gloats when she tells Julia that she (Julia) lost in the husband switch because Eladio turned out to be a better lover than Arturo. Hehehehe.

Eladio talks with his shrink, Dr. Phil. Eladio says that he lied to his wife when he told her that he had "a good time" with Nina. Eladio told Julia that to hurt her and now he feels bad about it. He tells Dr. Phil how Julia ended up giving him back her wedding bands. And then it hits him.. wait a minute, if she was still wearing them, then.. what does it mean?! Was she thinking that if she had it on, she was still with him! Hmm...

Julia thinks Nina's comment about who is better in bed is so distasteful. Julia's not about to talk about intimacy. Julia is also not going to talk bad about the father of her son. (What does that mean?!) Nina tells her to quit acting like a saint- when she took her husband from her. Julia denies having done anything. Julia hopes that it will be the best for both Nina and Eladio if Nina gets close to Eladio. But really, Julia thinks that Nina only got close to Eladio to get back at Arturo. Nina admits, that yeah at first she wanted to get back at Arturo, but then she discovered Eladio as a man, and now she'll stay close to him. Oh well, you had him, and you let him go, Nina tells her.

Dr. Phil tells Eladio that now that Julia gave the wedding bands back, it was another way of ending the relationship. Dr. Phil asks Eladio what he'll do with the wedding bands. Eladio will keep it as a reminder of Julia, as a reminder that the relationship is over, and as a reminder that he must move on with his life. He'll keep those wedding bands in the chest pocket of his shirt to always remember that. Now he'll focus on business. Dr. Phil brings up the business with Nina. He wonders if it'll be convenient for Eladio to mix business with personal matters. Eladio says that what everyone else is thinking about him and Nina is convenient. Dr. Phil mentions his new job and how someone named Dr. Becker will be taking his place now as Eladio's therapist. Eladio admits that therapy has been good for him and has helped him see things in another perspective. That is just what he'll need and he hopes that he has been able to understand the most difficult things and that now he can start his life again.

Regina gets spontaneous with Jorge by inviting him out to a bar. She tells him that she's very much fond of him. She thanks him for all that he has done, like putting up with her ex, and admires how secure he is and how much he supports her. He says he'd do all that many times to show her how much he loves her. The two kiss.

Caridad overhears when Franco makes a date to go and see Marintia. She can't believe that Franco is off to see Marintia when he has problems with Gaby. Franco says he's sick and tired of Gaby and would have dumped her if it wouldn't cause him problems with Eladio. Caridad tries to get him to understand Gaby. He should have told her about selling her parents shoe factory. Franco whines that Gaby doesn't trust him anymore and Caridad brings up how she had to lie to Gaby again. This time she told her that it was true that he was out of checks. Franco asks her to butt out of his affairs, but she'll continue to butt in, because he is hurting Gaby and that's not good. He tells her to go and be with Gaby if she's so worried. He's off to be with Marintia, whom he has a good time with, has plans with, and who was able to give him a child. Die Franco Die.

Hummy comments on Julia not wearing her wedding band. She tells him that she gave them back to Eladio. Hummy likes that- because now things will be clear to Eladio that she wants nothing with him. Julia says that from now on, the best thing will be for her to start to live her life. Hummy agrees. He tells her that she has the right to go and look for her happiness.

Gaby meets with Agustín for coffee and tells him that Franco sold her parents shoe factory behind her back. Agustín calls Franco a bastard and says that he's capable of anything for money. Gaby asks him what he means. Agustín explains that when Arturo and Julia saw each other, Franco tried to blackmail Arturo out of money, in exchange for his silence.

Thank you, Mauricio, for another wonderful retelling of the collection of angst and stupidity that is this novela .

Two bits advice to our characters : 1) lies we've a tangled web 2) this is not the way you treat someone you love

I can't even....really...I cant.

...make that "weave"

Hmmm...David and Reg were both in RED, Hubba's favorite color. His dad used to say "I like red no matter what it hangs on" whenever someone wrote red. The guy was a charmer. Dan was in blue. I hope that was not an attempt at symbolism by the writers...meh. Reg and Dave looked like big candy apples...

Wonderful Mauricio, just wonderful!!

I finally have figured out that I've been watching this TN all wrong--this is REALLY a dramedy...mostly comedy with a few beatings and deaths thrown in for drama. Because honestly, the stupidity and antics of these people plays right out 19th century farce.

I KNOW I'm supposed to like Gina and root for her but really...as smart as she is in business, she is clueless in the emotional department. Looks like Nina and Arturo successfully managed to raise all the siblings as emotionally crippled or damaged in how to deal with relationships. Good job guys...and I'm supposed to root for either of you why?

Why the blazes do we even need the Caridad character anymore? I'm beginning to really think her mother would have been a much better character to keep around for the plot.

So not only do Julia and Nina share spouses, they share a hairdresser. Surpised they didn't start playing tug of war there too. Kisses darling!

"And, boys and girls, Gaby's eyes grew three sizes that day and that part of her brain that had been for so long dark and dreary was now a shining beacon! Her hero Auggie brought her to the light and vengeance against the evil Dark Prince began."

Daisynjay

Gracias, Mauricio. I was having a little dialogue problem yesterday because of distractions.

Televisa production design typically uses color for symbolic purpose, so this is easily showing us that David and Regina are endgame regardless of what happens to anyone else. The writers have 16 hours left to convince us that's believable.

I hope that Gabriela has that light-bulb moment now rather than later to get out of the avalanche of anvils we're all anticipating. I also hope that this actress puts her foot down in her next novela so she can ditch the Wednesday Addams look.

Still not sure whether Franco was telling Caridad the truth or not. If he was he is being supremely cruel to Caridad to suggest that she play nice with Gabriela after telling him off about how he is treating her.

Hmmm...so we if see Gaby and Aug in blue, Eladio and Julia in green...couples ?

...make that "if we"...sorry, hurrying to get chores done before we go out to dinner.p.S. snowing here!!!!! Boohiss

Thank You Mauricio. We would be lost without your writing. I really appreciate your hanging in there.

The best scene of the night was Asswipe begging Eladio for money. The way Eladio handled him was pure class. Mind you Eladio (you haters out there) was defending his worst enemy's (Farturo's choice, not Eladio's) daughter.

"You broke the code." AW "what?."
"you seduced a young girl and gave her drugs."
AW "Yeah, she is an adult."
"I will make this very simple for you, Get out."
AW "huh ? ? ?"
"Get out of my office, NOW."
WOW. Pure class Eladio, you have my vote.

Eladio seems to have taken that old advice about 'If you love something, set it free...etc.' to heart. Farturo, not so much.

Caridud seeems to have gotten a sneak peek at the battleship size anvils hovering over Francofurter and Erik and is trying for her own in the final laps. She has become the handmaiden to Lucifer himself. Die Caridud Die

In my estimation it is dumb to do drugs. Coke especially has a bad reputation. That said, there is a vast divide between that amount of dumb and the dumb of thinking D&D and the Hamster and the Turtle will be double dating in where f'ing ever.

C'mon Dani, really? How sweet. How fake, some things never change, especially you, lying little crack Ho.

Eladio is just one of us guys who almost everyone has enough sense not to say no to.

Thanks Mauricio. Especially loved this:

Scaredy-Cat Marcos, is shaking in his cheap dress shoes,

What a sad, timorous little fella...reminds me of a titmouse somehow, flitting around nervously.

On the other hand, Callao...whadda guy. That's certainly who I would want for my bodyguard, right-hand man. Love his menacing, silent look. If I had to choose between Eladio and Callao, I'd take the latter.

That said, I'm definitely an Eladio fan but trumpeting a program of "telling no more lies" while lying out the wazoo to Julia about his Nina relationship is not cool.

Let's see. Yes..red. Passion. True Love. Or Candy Apples as Susanlynn suggested.
The one thing good about Regina and David getting back together is that we'll have no more of those endless Consuelo-Regina conversations. Looking on the bright side.

Thanks for the photos and captions as well Mauricio. The taco quip was certainly right on.

Susanlynn...it's snowing here too. My daffodils, tulipe, peonies and clematis are in shock. Windy also, especially in grocery parking lots. Like Alaskan tundra. Brrrr. Imagine our pal Daisynjay has it even worse but Cleveland folks are tough. No whining. Not about sports teams, not about weather. Tough with a capital T.

Hmmm "I'm out of checks" seems to serve the same purpose as the more traditional "The check is in the mail. " Franco is such a loser.

Let's retitle this show "RyR.". " Revenge y Regret. Most people have some regrets. ..."I shouldn't have said that". " I shouldn't have bought that dress". "I shouldn't have married this guy\girl". " I should have married that guy\girl." Most of these characters show no regrets for murdering, cheating, lying, and abusing others. Revenge is not a good response , but we are seeing Nina and Eladio trying to hurt their exspouses by posing as lovers.

I am sending out a Jon Bonjovi tune "Shot through the heart, and you're to blame; you give love a bad name" If the shoe fits, wear it. If you just stole a shoe factory from your wife, definitely find a pair of wingtips and put them on.

Mauricio,

This is great. Very informative, very funny, and wryly insightful. Loved the photos and clever captions. I especially appreciated this:

"... Gaby decides to vent about her husband with her mother in law, because your mother in law is the person you want to talk to when you want to vent about HER son."

Nina seems to be landing on her feet. Her taunting of Arturo and Julia is not exactly classy, but then not very many folks here were ever likely to accuse her of being classy. At least she didn't make an ugly scene at the beauty parlour.

I found this encouraging:

"Petra agrees to gossip about the Montenegro's family secrets to Obdulio..."

Maybe now we'll get a glimpse into why things are as they are in this strange family. I wonder how fond of Arturo Petra really is? After all, she did prepare those spicy enchiladas for him knowing full well that he wouldn't be able to tolerate them.

♥Susanlynn and Judy,

Snow? I can't even...

Carlos

Mauricio, this was excellent.

Your screen shots were also outstanding and contained some of my favorite quotes "It's not that I'm quiet. I just don't like your face. - Callao to Franco" and "I told my mom many times that I don't look good in red. - David
Yeah, you look like my dad. - Daniela". "Caridad defends her spawn. (What else is new?)" was also on my list...

I had to smile at your "So not only do Julia and Nina share spouses, they share a hairdresser" daisy. It's a small world, isn't it?

I know I'm in the minority but I am feeling sorry for Julia. She has been the victim of gossip and some very bad timing, must of which Arturo and Humberto are responsible for. I do think she and Eladio would have reconciled but the biggest threats and obstacles were not Nina and Arturo, but their stubborn pride. Had they admitted how they were feeling, they would be with each other.

I'm surprised Eladio has joined Nina in her hurtful, childish lies. Eladio's failure to believe Julia will cost both of them dearly I am afraid.

I'd love to know how much money Pedro has scammed Erick and Franco out of? I'm sort of hoping he makes it out of this alive as he couldn't have found more deserving marks.

Gaby, do you not see how handsome Augustin is? Do you still not see your husband's lies and deceptions??

Thank you Mauricio - this was great (as always).

Diana

Thanks, Mauricio. I missed watching last night, but now I feel like I was right there. My favorite: OMG. Regina and Consuelo are talking about Regina's relationship trouble AGAIN. YAWN.

Arturo was colossal tacky the other day, but Eladio sounds like a wuss pretending to Julia that he did the deed with Nina.

I want to see Eladio and Julia together in the end. He doesn't deserve her, but he's the one she loves so she might as well spend the next 50 years helping him reform. This isn't the same guy that yelled all the time and pushed her around the first week of the TN.

I'm all in at the Augie-Gaby table on the patio. Nothing wrong with a little May-September. Augie is smart, loyal, and cute (even with that haircut). I bet he's got a nice nest egg with the money he's earned with Art.

They almost never tell us the dollar or peso cost of anything, but I'm not sure it matters unless it puts the payer in danger of having nothing. Franco isn't in danger of that just yet, but Erick might be soon.

Sleezebag villains like Pedro never get away with it; they always end up dead or in prison. In Pedro's case he hasn't actually killed anyone yet nor has he raped anyone but the extortion and the kidnapping will get him caught and punished.

SNOW? I Can't even. The boat and the Jet Skis are quarreling over who I will take out tomorrow.

Sorry.......

"I'm all in at the Augie-Gaby table on the patio" Meee toooo.

Betcha Auggie would rock Gaby's world compared to that selfish kid she married.

Sleezebag villian? Watch your mouth Ms. Urban. He tried to kill Erik and will probably kill Francofurter. That makes him and me almost brothers !

:-)

After Franco sold Gaby's shoe factory, he told Marcos to use the proceeds to buy GLA stock.

I had assumed that this was done rather quickly.

How can Marcos deposit the money back into the account (so that Franco can write a check and give it to Gaby), if they no longer have the money?

TN pixie dust.

GBFFOH: I often wonder the same things. IE: how does Dani get from the Montenegro mansion which does NOT appear to be in an industrial park, to Farturo's office before her tears are even dry?

Pixie Dust

Good evening everyone! Many thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you all enjoyed the recap.

Wow, I was surprised when Agustín told Gaby about Franco's attempted blackmail at Arturo. Is there any chance that Agustín still has the recording of the attempted blackmail and that he'll let Gaby listen to it? Oh, I hope so.

Oh wow, so Eladio got his hands on those GM shares after all. What will Arturo do when he finds out?

How many times have Nina and Julia ran into each other at the beauty salon now? At this point, they should make arrangements to not visit the beauty salon on the same day, so they don't run into each other.

Caridad... shut up.

Mauricio---A great weekend recap you have left for us. Your I don't look good in red picture was so funny.

I thought that Eladio was trying to win Julia back. Isn't that right? So he tells Julia that he enjoyed the best that Nina had to offer---WHAT? How is that ever going to make her want to put her arms around him again? It's no wonder that she finally took his rings off. Good Grief, what was Eladio thinking? He tells her that she wanted him to always tell the truth and so if now he tells her that he made it up, she won't believe him. Couple that with Nina's lie telling her the same thing and even if at sometime in the future the truth were told, Julia wouldn't believe
it.

Gobluefan---Good point. The money's gone.

Why doesn't Gaby ask to see the sale contract? Maybe Franco would bring her a fake one of that too. At least Gaby is starting to get suspicious of him.

Gaby and Augie are looking better and better together.

So we are going to have a young foursome come Monday. What could go wrong there?

The green handkerchief in Arturo's suit pocket was an ugly green and didn't go well with his suit coat. On the other hand, Eladio dark suit and tie looked great. Yeah.
Eladio's got the looks, that's for sure. Now if the shrink can get him straightened out or is that asking for too much?

I was thinking at the time that Julia just should have walked away from Nina in the beauty salon. Things are definitely worse now.

must see tv
the gringo

Thank you Mauricio for the recap!

Judy B: Purple Lips' smirk "I'm meaner than the girls on Mean Girls" ROFLOL!

Kirby: Regina & Jorge going out to the club!

UA: Another snoozefest between Connie & Regina!

Gringo: The Ashmore Report LOL. Sounds like the infamous Starr Report!

Niecie: Gaby & Aguie ? We'll see if they end up together. Once again, Caridad is stupid!

Marinita's anvil is coming!

Mauricio thanks so much for your great recap! The pics and captions were an added bonus. Hoping Gaby does have a light bulb moment as its hard watching Franco continue to deceive her. And she does herself no favors by trusting him in spite of huge red flags.

Diana I hope you enjoyed your drink at the table as I was with both you and Sandy in spirit. Your sorrow for Julia shows your kind spirit. I wish the writers had given her more stability and backbone though we know from UA's posts and other information on abused women that some of her responses are normal. And the coming anvil for Eladio (the Nina lie and Franco's huge deception) will make her return to him nearly impossible unless there is a time jump.

On a happier note, I'm with you and Niecie - Gaby and Augstin.

Cari-Dud: They should have kept her in prison then she could have gotten some more tattoos. Face and neck tats always scream "I served hard time !"

Just thinking of that obnoxious thing (hopefully fake) on her arm.

She continues to insist on being close to Lucif..er..Francofurter. His anvil should cover them both if she is THAT close. Die Caridud Die

Karen, the Gaby-Augustin table now has almost as many participants as the Eladio-Julia table. I thing Gaby and Aug will be very happy together.

Although it may be possible for Julia and Eladio to get together at some distant point, you remind us that Eladio's other secrets are bubbling beneath the surface, ready to boil over. I don't believe Julia would forgive Franco's treachery to her beloved niece - the factory fiasco but more importantly, the existence of Mateo.

Perhaps it's best if Eladio and Nina take the smug little lying smiles they wore as they lied to Julia and sail off...

Diana

My take on Eladio---Nina. Eladio has been very bad, but is sincerely trying to be good. He has changed dramatically for the better.

Nina has been bad, and if anything is getting worse. What she did to their children is unforgivable. Now she shows us how dishonest and conniving she really is.

Mind you Eladio has some transgressions which cannot be undone either, but he is truly trying. I believe Nina is a bad influence on him in a vulnerable time. Let's admit it, Nina is one notch above a hooker, and is apparently pretty good at it. Eladio is not immune to her charms. They have not been intimate, but she is practiced at getting a man's attention, and it is working on Eladio.

Left to his own, with a decent therapist, Eladio will do the right things, though he has not faced some secrets yet. Nina's mode is "I didn't get my way, so all bets are off." Reminds you of Erik and Dani doesn't it. Go figure.

Auggie--Gabbie: If an age difference were a nono, half the couples here in FloriDuh would not be couples.

I have been hoping that Augie gets his heart's desire (Gaby..for some reason we will never know) since the beginning. He is a stable, clear-headed, intelligent guy in a sea of crazy, mixed men...so many wacky men. I am sure that Gaby is safe now that she has confided in him, and Augie is going to be coming after Franky, who is not nearly as smart and irresistible as he thinks he is. (I am guessing that we all know a couple of those guys. Legends in their own minds. ) Augie also has a lot of information about Err . Finally, a hero. I bet he will buy Gaby a lot of shoes!

Yep, Judy, it was Christmas in April Friday night and Saturday her in Cleveland. The winds though were bad enough late evening Friday that power went out a few hours ( I slept through that part thankfully). We had 4-5 inches on the West side and a couple locations lakeside on the east side had a little more. Have to say, it was the heavy snow that coats and stays on everything for some time, and when the sun peaked out Saturday morning, it was quite beautiful. But it's April, and I'm done with it and would like the warmer temps back so everything goes back to blooming.

Poor little Mateo. Maybe there should be a TN 20 years on and he and little Erick can meet and share war stories on their horrible sperm donors.

Thank you Mauricio, well done.

I don't want Eladio and Julia together ever again. Sometimes love is never enough.

When Regina hooked up with David after Dani had a go at him and it took her forever to convince herself to ignore the revulsion, how in heck does she think she won't vomit if she goes in again? Sometimes love is never enough but requires a lobotomy.

If Julia is foolish enough to hook up with Art again she should stay put this time. I understand the folly of rebound revenge when young but not grudge bed hopping in middle age.

It's not only the age difference between Agustin and Gaby it's Agustin and Gaby. I mean, if we're hell bent on pairing people up what about Agustin and Petra and/or Gaby and a beach ball.

Given, Gaby has NO Brain to speak of. Can't a couple survive with just one high calibre brain between the two?

Excellent work, as always, Mauricio. And the screen shots with clever captions bring it up yet another notch. Thank you!

I admit I've been a closet fan of Julia's all along, though it hasn't been safe to say so around here:) This latest wrinkle, however, has me really feeling for her: the other members of the quartet (Eladio, Nina and Arturo) know perfectly well that Nina and Eladio have no romantic attachment. Arturo said as much: As he told Agustín, he KNOWS Nina. So poor Julia is making bad decisions based on faulty information. And as I've said before, Julia herself is the one person who consistently tells the truth, though her listener (or the viewers) may not always like what she has to say.

I also like this version of Eladio. It's sad that he's saddled with Franco's sins and all the lies he's told (and truths he's withheld) in their service. I'd love to see Julia eventually able to see past it all, but it doesn't seem likely. Sigh.

Oh well. So what are we drinking on The Patio tonight, guys?

Thanks Mauricio!!!

When this show started out I thought this was a story of Julia and Art finding their way back to each other. If that happens now I'll be sorely disappointed. The writers haven't made that story work. As Julia and Eladio were glaring at each other in his office, I thought " this is the love story of the show." Should they be together? Debatable. But as another commentator said, I would be happy if we get a scene where they see each other years later and start again.

Of course as we get closer to the end with no anvils yet, I'm ready for another bitterly disappointing ending to a TN. Also, changing Eladios excellent psych this late makes me wonder what kind of character change is going to be forced upon him for the writers to get their ending, regardless of what the story has dictated up to this point . I'm feeling very pessimistic.

Carvivlie---With the change in shrinks, I'm seeing a bad omen. I'm feeling pessimistic the same as you are right now---and then we see that damn lighter that Eladio keeps flicking? Dark clouds rising?

Kirbo---I think that Auggie's brain cells is just what Gabby needs. It'll work.

Steve---Looks like your whacked predictions are getting closer and it just might be that Ashmore will have a big role to play in them. I'm looking forward to the Ashworth Report.

Gringo: Consider Sir..."Opposites Attract" He He He Haw. No wonder Auggie can not stay away from Gabalicious.

You heard it first right here folks.

Monday should be a Hootenanny.
As someone ? says...Must see TV.

NovelaMaven, you aren't alone in your support of Julia. She has had mine all along as well. Yes, she is overly emotional but I have been told the same thing more than once, so I strongly identify. She believes and trusts too easily (so does Gaby), but I always feel it's better to have an open rather than a closed heart although hurt is inevitable.

Carvivlie, your "As Julia and Eladio were glaring at each other in his office, I thought " this is the love story of the show." Should they be together? Debatable" was spot on. I was waffling myself but was completely turned off at Eladio's bald faced lie he and Nina were together.

Diana

Diana, I'm a bit more sympathetic towards Eladio. Now Nina just wants revenge on Art but I think Eladio is lying because he thinks it will help him move on. He is suffering and Julia is only making it worse each time she accuses him of something even though they are divorced. She continues to act like the jealous wife even though she told him she could never forgive him. But then continues to wear her wedding ring. Lots of contradictory behavior that has left Eladio reeling. Also, I think Nina is a bad influence and we know Eladio isn't so strong as not to give in to his dark side, especially with a new shrink coming. Im still hoping Eladio comes out of this and doesn't set his world on fire.

NovelaMaven---I guess that you have forgotten that the gringo is practically a Susana Gonzalez fanatic and therefor have been in Julia's corner from the beginning of PyP even though she hasn't been able to make up her mind on several issues. Julia has her faults but she isn't a bad person and so I am not hesitant to support her, not way back then and not now.

Ah gringo and Diana, thank you for reminding me. I feel much better knowing that you are both sitting at the Julia table. :-)

What a treat to start the week with a Mauricio recap with hilarious screen captions, to boot! Many thanks indeed! I have last week's recaps + comments for 3 shows to catch up on, so that should keep me occupied for a while. Thank you fellow Carayites for brightening my days!

I just popped in to say howdy and inform UA and anyone else who might be interested that the show ended yesterday in Mexico and the PyP finale lasted 1 hour and 46 minutes. Too long to fit into 2 episodes but not long enough for 3. I hope Univision doesn't get too scissor-happy.

Have a nice Monday and a fresh start to your week! :)

Maurico,

Thanks so much for your delightful recap. Loved your screen caps and captions. You nailed the ever present expression on Marcos' face with, "I shouldn't have eaten that taco during lunch." Poor guy, Franco will be the eventual "drowning" of Marcos. Great, job Mauricio!

I wonder if Eladio is over playing a "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." strategy with Julia. She seems so intensely connected to him, but he continues to push her away.

Well another wonderful table has formed on the Patio: Augustin and Gaby. Love to pull up a chair, seeing the two of them working together on the sold factory, I realize that they compliment each other beautifully. I do worry about my health a bit now that I have a presence on three tables: Nina, Consuelo and Miguel, Augustin and Gaby. I'll just have to be sure and order club sodas after I finish my first delicious Carlos crafted drink!

I still say if Augustin can ever lure Gaby away she will be throwing rocks at sloppy seconds Frankenfurter, BEFORE she finds out all his evil secrets. There is a Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde difference in being 'with' someone who has to be with you and being with someone who really wnats to be with you. (So Ive been told)

Even Gaby will be able to recognize that, unless she really is on autopilot.

Sandy..yes..that!!!...Eladio = Rhett.

Did anyone see the advice columns this morning? The first question could be food for thought for both families in our story.

Mauricio, Ive really enjoyed this recap. Its very funny and to the point. These people are acting like those kids from those 80s & 90s teens highschool movies. That caption under nina's photo was spot on. Now all she needed to do was
twirl her hair around her finger and talk like she's about to go out of breath, you know the way Wendy Williams does on her show and she's making fun of those Valley girls & Kim Kardashian.
Nina and eladio are the in-crowd type, and arturo and juls are the not-so-popular type. These people are soooo totally stupid. And gina & jorge, and dani & david are just as bad. G& j and g&j, sounds like a teen movie on disney. They do indeed to grow the hell up. And even if eladio was serious about nina, why is juls so upset she wanted the devorce cuz He was a jerk. Did all those horrible things to her.

Lack of communication is playin a part in this too. They both still love each other but they wont tell each other. And They're not mind readers. And juls is not trying hard enough for me to tell people that she and artty are not together, there was never an affair. so she needs to stop getting upset when she sees her husband with nina, after all even if they weren't planning on getting back together eladio is hot hot hot he's not going to stay alone forever. They want each other back they ought to speak up.

their children have the same problem they have.

UA..yikes...that family situation sounds a lot like our show. My sister is eight years older than I am, so we never dated the same guy. Even so, we have very different personalities and tastes in men, so it probably never would have happened anyway. The real life situation described in the letter sounded like a disaster. I think that knowing that your sister "knows" your beau\hub in the biblical sense..yikes and no.

I wish some hot guy would come in and sweep Nina off her feet so she can let go of Art and Eladio.

I wish some HOT guy would come in and sweep Nina off her feet and KILL her. KILL...KILL.KILL
Did I mention I don't care for Nina?

Carvivlie, I've always respected your point of view, in fact your weekend comment on another thread about Eladio's character arc and Nina's ( in progress) character arc resonated with me. My location at the time, sitting in a chair watching an 11 year old "wooden bat tournament" in freezing cold Donelson, Tennessee prevented my fingers from tapping out an agreement. Nina, sitting in that restaurant with a USB drive filled with plans for a business that DIDN'T in any way compete with Groupo Montenegro or Gomez Luna, was a character arc highlight for me. Her "completely fair" divorce proposal (with outside help) and her acceptance of Jorge as Regina's suitor resonated with me. Yes, she took the bait when Julia started the beauty parlor challenge with, "Now I see that you have added your name to the list of Eladio's conquests," ........she should have kept to the high ground, she didn't, she sunk down into the abyss. Yes, she has more work to do, but at least we see upward movement in her character. Carvivlie, yes, Nina deserves happiness in the end whether it be in the form a "hot guy" or the business success that she seems to be determined to have. Let's hope BOTH happens!

Kirbo, yes, we hear your ideas about Nina! You have managed to put four KILL(s) into one sentence plus you've changed your name to kill.(?)

Sandy. Oh,I beg your pardon. I sneaked a period in there so It was a sentence and just a series of words. Thanks anyway for supporting me in my disdainfor Nina.

I like the name idea.

Kirbo, I don't support you in your disdain for Nina, I'm solidly at the Nina Patio table.

Oh well, you make for a lively, animated conversation and what's not to like about that???

Thank You so very much Ms. Sandy. We are all here for a little light hearted fun, right? Don't take life too seriously, and maybe it won't take you too seriously.

Actually, while we are pretending these are people, I think I would only spend time around EJr and Mateo sans parents.

Thank You again.

Wow Sandy thank you so much for your comment.

Kirbo, I'm not the biggest Nina fan (because of all of her help with Erick against Connie) but she has come a long way. She is at least interesting. I'm finding Julia so dull.

I'm at the Eladio table, the Mig and Con table, the die Franco die and die Erick die tables. I'm not sure about the Aug & Gaby table.

Yes, Kirbo, a point of agreement....the best people to spend time with are Erick Jr and Mateo sans parents. (I hope spending time with these munchkins comes with some (Obdulio or Petra) babysitting! Having done my child and grandchildren duties, not sure I'm in for another round of infants!) Oy vey!

Kirbo: Karma will bite Purple Lips sooner or later. I'm not sure how, but it's going to have rippling effects!

Carvivlie; I am a devout Julia worshiper base strictly on hair and legs. She can do or say anything, I don't care, she is beautiful.

Huh? Are you watching this show? Come a long way? Yikes. In which direction? She dreams up new evil as she goes along. I hope her plastic but melts.

Just kidding, do NOT take me seriously.

Kirbo, Ok, we won't take you seriously, you're here just to have fun! That's fine.

But, if I were a Julia fan, I wouldn't wish for a plastic (silicone) melt to visit PyP. Just sayin'

NOOOOooooooooo
My Julia? NNNOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo

BTW. If I were here for A N Y other reason, I would take many here's advice and see a real shrink.

Let's just say this, after the PyP plastic melt, many of our female characters will need a new wardrobe! Kirbo, the truth hurts, sorry to be the one to inform you of this unpleasant reality! Maybe a Patio cervesa will calm your nerves!

RATS ! I'm giving up I am going to try to get interested on real women.

Sandy: Is the recap from last night's episode going to be posted on here ?
