Sueño de amor, Ep. 42 (5.5.2016) From teacher warrior spinner hope... to cliché weepy nosy counselor!
Shameless Iker shows his gun to the kids
Is Homero's sleepover time with Rodrigo and after playing swapping accents where Rodrigo speaks in perfect spanish and Homero does the gringou, Ricardo, who can only make hotcakes and he makes them morning, noon and night, offers them to everybody. While the kids are weirdly quiet and still, Iker got a call from Baxter about the sombra and Homero gets sick after seeing Iker's gun. Then Rodrigo spilt the beans about his father being an agent too. Homero looks surprised. Maybe he was the only one who didn't know it!
Homero laughs like we did, when he finally makes the connection between the Alegrías being always joyful and Ricardo tells him the Derbez joke about Elmer Homero (el mero mero. the only one).
Even when Ricardo was one of the three suspects, Iker
Juárever. Later on, Rodrigo has his famous nightmare and scares his little friend. Homero, impactado, now will have nightmares and daymares too.
Esperanza finds out Salma is in Barcelona and now, being the problem solver of the world, is deeply worried. Should the girl abort? Should she keep the baby or give it for adoption?
Silvana no tiene lana
Kracy is very upset after that night at Prometeus, where she didn't even catch the flu (no pescó ni un resfriado).
Porque te quiero, te maltrato
Pato is not a true thick skinned duck. When the lieutenant apologize for the inconvenience, Pato goes beserk and almost gets thrown in another cell herself when she tries to scratch the man's eyes blinded by her anger. An apology won't do, Mister! My brother spent ONE NIGHT! ONE NIGHT IN JAIL because of you! (and because of himself, and his threats, and you not telling Mapa the truth, want me to keep going?).
Fluffiest pancakes ever!
He learnt how to make them in prison. The secret ingredient is not love, but it helps:
Cowboy bath for Silvana
Salma tells Kristel she won't go to school today, not after trying to commit suicide, that's exhausting! Salma, from now on, every time you regret being pregnant or having a child, think of those 45 seconds you spent riding your little pony. I am sure you were very happy, right? So now, don't run away from trouble, face it. Specially when nobody forced you...
I thought the Colinas already had another house on the hills, but I guess it is the same and they haven't moved out yet. Ernesto reads the Shadow's wikipedia page and finds out about the Black orchids being his trademark. Now I am sure he wants one! Or maybe they're cheaper by the dozen!
He had it coming! Pato chisme caliente help spread the news like herpes, listen everyone! They caught the assassin of Vicente!
Ricardo drops Homero while his favorite granny and his favorite brother Virgilio wait for him. His not so favorite father the Shadow watches them from afar and gets very, very upset. Even his mask is crooked with anger. First my fingers and now my kids? You will pay for this, Ricardo, you are the only one to blame and now I can no longer text, type, or learn the sign language.
On the bright side, Kuri family will support Salma all the time, or at least for the next 9 months.
At school Esperanza and Pedro finally remember he is diabetic and talk about amputation, blindness, dialysis, you know, all those pesky side effects that a 19 yo. should know about when they don't take care of themselves.
El que quiera azul celeste
Oh, uh... Homero is not answering the phone. I hope he didn't forget it at the Alegrías along with his dandruffy cap.
Nana-nana-nanana, I wanna start a fight!
This could be a warning sign for Ricardo. Or maybe the reason why in the future he will set eyes on another woman. Remember, they have to start making room for Marjorie!!
In México we have this derogatory sufix adding the ending ''ucho, ucha'' to words, so, when Silvana calls Esperanza ''maestrucha'' is an insult. An ugly house is ''casucha'', a skinny guy is ''delgaducho'', etc. This doesn't include cachucha (cap) or cucho (crooked).
Ernesto seems to be infatuated with la sombra and probably wants to become him. Now he wants his máscara and is not Halloween. Murillo gets suspicious, but es secreto, if you don't keep it, you will end in a shallow grave. He better go see Mama Josefa, who seems to have many to spare.
Después de ahogado el niño, a tapar el pozo
The Alegreros are concern why Virgilio and Homero didn't attend school, but not because they care, because they like to speculate!
People that gossip together, stay together
Later, Esperanza and Adrián in the rehearsal talk about paternity, changing diapers and not being able to sleep for the next 18 years at least. She is prolife, meaning that adoption rules! No abortion. Kristel tells them about the suicide attempt. One more stripe on the tiger!
Ricardo finds Homero's cachucha del chavo del ocho. Could it be DNA evidence? Everybody has touched and is made out of fabric, but maybe some hair (zoom-in in case we are stupid)...
Ernesto enjoys his new apartment and his Klimt's kiss counterfeit, while Arleth freezes and unfreezes in her high heels. How do those shoes allow her to work 8 hours a day? Really? Oh, she spents most of the time sitting down, I get it! He also wants a voice distorter and not being asked why he is collecting all those weird devices. He thinks he is clever not asking the same person for every thing so they don't make the connection, so, who is he going to ask for the cloak? The ring?
Nachamama Krustasia talks to herself (I am calling her Krustasia because she is kracy) and doesn't want to go back to Italy, even when they have 2 months paid vacation and excellent work laws there!!
Estrella and Adrián's relationship is complicated. More now that Salma became a human bakery.
A mal paso darle Gerber
Anyway. They all melt in a huge hug suffocating Salma who is about to throw up on Grandma Maggie's horrendous fabric flower brooch. WHAT? NO SELFIE?! Sasquatch! That could break the internet!!
Thanks to my prayers to the Virgin of the Peace, no stooges today! Yupi!

"Wandering Anastasia" was just weird. Are we going to have to put up with her again???
I could not believe Esperanza wanted Estrella to take Salma's role in the musical. Guess she just doesn't think much these days.
I liked that Agatá creeped out Silvana.
Poor Homero. I felt sorry for the kid having to hear all about his rotten father.
"Adrián and his terrible, horrible, no good, very bad life" hit it out of the park. I also enjoyed "Now she has a ''gallito'' (Bed-head, even when she didn't sleep in a bed!") and "Ernesto seems to be infatuated with la sombra and probably wants to become him. Now he wants his máscara and is not Halloween" were more favorites.
"Homero, impactado, now will have nightmares and daymares too". Yes, I also felt badly for him Jarifa. He is such a cute kid and his wide eyed, incredulous stares were hard to watch. What is the poor kid to think?
"And if they are, why Max's mother never mentioned her, and the kids also seem not to know they have an aunt? Maybe this one is not their favorite aunt?" Thank you Pablo. I didn't put two and two together, but now that you have mentioned it, I don't think they know she is their aunt. I hope she is safely away and can reappear after La Sombra is "gone". I say that because I'm hoping she is salvageable if she hasn't hurt anyone or done anything irredeemable?
My favorite scenes were Ernesto finally hugging Adrian (although I know I should despise Ernesto and do except when he is kind to his son) and Mario standing up to Ernesto. I think Salma was proud. I sure was.

I wonder if Ernesto knows he could get himself killed or injured just by wearing that mask. Agents might shoot first and ask questions if the target is still able to respond.
Esperanza counseling Salma to have the baby and put it up for adoption. Isn't giving that kind of advice just a tad intrusive and presumptious?
There was so much action this week and plot lines that were started and completed. I hope they keep it up.
I agree that intrusive and presumptuous (perfect words)apply to Esperanza.
I would think long and hard about offering any unsolicited advice in such a situation to anyone who was not immediate family. She is not family nor a family friend. This could be an irrevocable decision and certainly life altering, whatever course of action is chosen.
I wish she had said that she cared about Salma and would support her with whatever decision she made.
I have my opinion but I am going to keep it to myself which is what Esperanza should have done! :)
Sometimes, people's hearts are in the right place but unfortunately, their mouths aren't...

Many thanks, Jarifa, for an excellent Wednesday recap! You got quite a few dance episodes and sobfest episodes. I sure I'm glad I dodged that one. Thanks for taking (yet another) one for the team! :) Still, it isn't the most tears I've seen in a TN episode. I've had the misfortune of watching the unintentional comedy "La Madrastra" and SdA's Wednesday episode is what you get on "La Madrastra" in almost every single episode!
Thanks ever so much, Pablo for delighting us with yet another gem! I was laughing throughout and especially appreciated the dichos. You instruct and entertain at the same time.
I agree with all of you about Maestra Metiche. She ought to keep her unsolicited opinions to herself! She had no business suggesting choices to Salma or even discussing her pregnancy with her beyond the standard: "I care about you and you can always count on my support". Oh well, it's Osorio: if he doesn't preach, he dies.
A belated ¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Hope you had a great day! :)
Esperanza needs to keep her nosy nose out of places it doesn't belong. Who does she think she is? That baby is sorta family to her in that Adrian is Pato's brother, but I think Miss Manners would agree that this is way too many degrees of separation to even voice an opinion to Salma unsolicited. Sheesh. Really though I'm surprised Super Luca the Saint hasn't already stepped in with the perfect kindergarten platitudes to save the day. I guess he's been busy murdering Vicente or something (right? Dressed as a woman, perhaps?)
What kind of villain keeps his villain masks at his mama's house? What kind of woman shares her son's villainy with his poor kids instead of with a police officer who will maybe keep him from killing more people? Maybe La Sombra is going to turn out to be the hero. Maybe Ric and his ilk really are the villains, like run of the mill corrupt cops, and La Sombra is stealing back art that was stolen by the Nazis and the grateful original owners or their families are giving generous donations to refugee and natural disaster recovery and cancer research organizations as a token of their gratitude to La Sombra. Maybe there would never have been any murders until Ric and gang got involved because the corrupt muckety mucks hired them to keep the art from being returned to where it belonged.
Has La Sombra even been stealing any art? I feel like if the basis of the show is that Ric is trying to capture an art thief, we should at least see some good art heist scenes. Did any of you watch Camaleones? That was a fun show. The PROTAGONISTS were art thieves, and we actually got some fun heist scenes!
