Sueño de amor, Ep 47 (5.12.16) This episode has been brought to you by open ''Death threats'' when doing it anonymously is not enough.

''A very long time ago, very, very long time ago, in a land very far, very, very far, a little princess was born. She was so hairy and her beak was so crooked that her Mapa called her  ''Pato''. When she turned ''18'' her dad gave her a luscious party. Everybody was invited, specially Eli and Pocoyó. The shadow, international art thief was not on the list but he assisted anyway because he had a special gift for her. I told you I would kill her when she turned 18, remember?''

Grandmamá Pepa thought she was getting weird, wired, but all Ricardo did was give her a tracking device that looks like Barbie's smartphone to locate her son. Can you really know where he is with this? Sure! Do you remember the tubes from the tv when you were a kid? Well... technology has made everything smaller...
She thinks she is the only one to blame because Max grew up without a father figure. She said that she created a soulless monster because the absence of Max's father made him steal to fill that void, yeah right! To another dog with that bone!

Death threat #1

Nachamama likes to do everything twice, the same way she ''slept'' with both father and son is now blackmailing them. If in the past she got money from them in exchange of sex, now she wants the money for nothing. She threats Luca with hurting Pato if she doesn't get money, saying: If you want me far from her, gimme money, if you want her to live, gimme more money, I have nothing to lose and I have a concealed gun I like to pet anywhere, anytime, so gimme money. For some reason I don't want to go back to Italy, so gimme money!

Believe it or not, although Pato looks way older, she is just 18 and her birthday will be full of surprises. Start guessing what her wish will be!

Que nadie sepa mi sufrir
(Death threat #2)
Pedro and Aranza go to the police to ratify their report on the rape. She is ashamed of what people might think of her (now and not when she was provoking men unintentionally) being ''only 17 like Pato'', yeah right! Well. While some cases take ages to get attention, this one was express and they even see the rapist being taken to jail. Pedro goes ''all pato'' jumping at him and then therapist threatens him (or both) right in front of everybody that he will find and kill him (them) as soon as he is out and nobody does anything. Really? He swears he will kill them when he gets out and that doesn't count as a crime? I was hoping Rentería could charge him for that.
Pedro, after going all ''pato'' on him, asks Aranza: Do you know how to count? Well, you can count on me forever.
Arita, who liked to be many women in one, now has the chance to be the ''raped one'' but this one she didn't like, because now she is ''la manchada'' (stained or with spots, like a dalmatian).

They tried to take me to rehab and I said no, no, no
Luca and Ernesto, the same way they compared notes, now discuss Nachamama's blackmail, then Viviana and Adrián arrive. They are taking Adrián Right to the CEREAL (Center of rehabilitation for alcoholics). When he finds out it has nothing to do with the breakfast grain, he feels betrayed and disillusioned and fights like a cat about to take a bath.

In Osorio's productions is all about cutting corners and re-recycle.
Remember those stylized hangers from PEAM? Well, here I have seen two already, one in Esperanza's bedroom and one in Ernesto's office. This one is very graphic, since it is the whole plastic hanger only with a very long chrome stand.

Is filler time!
In another news: The theater play that was only a filler, is being stretched and Salma and Adrián are being discarded, now it's time to start over and the auditions are open again! But the surprise is that Pamela was Agata all the time. Talk about nonsense! She and her brother, as rich and bored as they are, played this prank to see how many teachers would quit because of the horror of a ghost terrorizing the premises. Esperanza, being the warrior that she is, won't quit, but her tumors are back and this time they only attack when she is not happy (Alegre).

A Esperanza le duele la panza
Esperanza suffers another crab attack cramp that takes her to the floor crawling of pain and even has to call her doctor for an appointment.
And while his mother talks to Ricardo about him, la sombra shows up in Palacios Institute, showing his face now to Virgilio and Homero, who gets very afraid and speechless.
When Ricardo fail to advertise the whole wide world that he is in fact a ''secret'' agent, Esperanza is there to fill the voids. She tells Virgilio she knows everything!

Hi, future wife! Hi, ''secret'' agent!
How ridiculous sounds when Ricardo calls Esperanza now his ''future wife'', and she feels all proud! If I was her, I wouldn't count the chickens before they hatch, because from the plate to the mouth, the soup can be spilled sometimes (del plato a la boca, a veces se cae la sopa)

My problems are more important than yours
Patoluca have not been together for 30 minutes and they are literally dying to see each other again. She tells Aranza that she loves and misses him so much but the post rape stress has left her all worried. Oh, I am sorry, but enough about me and MY BOYFRIEND.
Speaking of, Arita calls Pedro a hero for standing up for her and the unhappy (infeliz) that raped her. Ara, you are precious, funny, good person, you just need a boy like my Luca, adds Pato.

Three stooges wanted to get rid of their bad luck so they wanted a ''limpia'' (cleansing) and went to see a witchdoctor who cleaned their pockets passed an egg all over them, los barrió con pirul and smoked them, but even so, they still have the bad luck. Good luck it would be if they disappear completely from this show.

In the CEREAL, Dr Mireya (Adamari López thin sister) offers to De las Colinas all support for Adrián and Viviana goes home crying, feeling that she failed as a mother.

Quintina tells Félix her suspicions about Silvana (not afraid of being fired) because besides the whole spending the nights in her office, it looks like she has been spending the money from the school. Silvana has committed fraud ''de la peor calaña'' and now is time to report that to Doña Bárbara.

Death threat #3
Shadow, as bad as he has made to appear because we have never seen him stealing anything, is a caring father. He said he will always be close to his kids. He told that to his mother, to Virgilio and then to Ricardo over the phone, maybe if you said it 10 times it becomes true.

Ricardo, on the other side, thinks that the moment of facing him is near, because la Sombra is probably tired of running, is surrounded, the city exits are closed, and he has nowhere to go.

When Esperanza tells Ricardo the whole Pamela Rey Aldana/Agata but misses to inform him of her crabs, cramps, Ricardo only laughs and disregards her. Silly future wife! Nobody will believe that and is maybe not the time to take care of it. Kids do the darnest things. She'll be over it when she is older, you'll see...

Then they go to the church of the Virgin to renew their vows and wonder how young the image looks after 20 years. Yep, virgins don't age, specially if they're made out of plaster. Then they remember 20 years ago when they promised eternal love and failed. They wanna get married here. Second time is a charm?

Jerónimo and Erasmo talk about the money (10,000 dollars) for Kikos operation,
If I remember correctly, Esperanza said Bárbara from the patronage, could help them, and as far as I believe, CRITs are free for people of low income, but now on the whim of the stretch armstrong writers they spent Kiko's money in another kid, so Erasmo needs the money for yesterday! In Ep 14 minute 9, The doctor said Barbara Santillana asked to review this case because she wanted to help (now she can't, maybe Silvana took more than we think). I remember this jumped out for me because Bárbara was not involved (as far as I know) with Vasconcelos, but with Palacios. Anyway, Kiko, who has not walked for some years, could as well spent another five years while Erasmo graduates and work to save all that dough. Besides, if that's the price of a new car, why not ask Luca the magnanimous for a loan like Erasmo has done in several other occasions? Luca has that and way more to spend on odds and ends (in his petty cash box, LOL) or when he is with Pato!
CRIT also offer very low charges (8 pesos, less than 50 cents of a dollar) for therapy session and gives relatives of the kids food and other accommodations, just like Shriners. Looks like Osorio fell short and now needs Mr Fantastic to help him stretch this plot like Lala's string cheese! Mmm yummy!

Con la cola entre las patas
Bárbara and Félix confront Silvana about the stealing and she is sent to jail with Aranza's rapist, kidding! (it would be nice though). BTW, for you curious people out there, Vicente was not Bárbaras son, Gonzalo had it already and she hated him too. In the video, they watch how Silvana steals from the vending machine, maybe some chips and M&Ms, big deal!!

Esperanza goes wedding dress shopping for the century's wedding...  Fastforward!

Several days later (how many? seven, thirty, 365?)

Silvana is in jail and calls Mario for help, so much for a troublesome divorce, friend!
You know she is missing a chip when she starts her conversation to Mario with:
-Useless moron! I am in trouble, help me!!
Mago listens. Bad news, well, it could be worse!
She can not afford even a good lawyer and she has not taken a good shower in weeks, so, she asks Rentería if there are showers in the female prison. Just some advice, if you use the showers, don't drop the soap!

Operation Peta: saving the wild duck
Death threats # 4 and 5
Kracy (who now speaks spanish better than a native) and Ernesto plot something against Pato. But who cares if she has the most awesome boyfriend who is also a superhero, right? Here you can hear murder threat # 4 and 5, when Kracy threatens to let a bullet ''go'' by mistake and hurt pato, and when Ernesto tells her that this kind of ''mistakes'' could cost her life!

Tha shadow of the opera promises to himself never to let his children out of sight. and calls Ricardo to make sure he doesn't forget he means business. After they hang up, Ricardo wants to track the phone call even when it was very brief. Iker, get ready if you fail!

Instead of grabbing a bite, Nachamama watches as Kracy and Ernesto get on a car. While getting in a car is nothing to suspect about, being disguised as la sombra is, so she invest her last piece of jewelry to pays the taxi and follow them wherever they go. She gives the driver her Cracker Jack ring.

Don't take a bath with this rubber duckie
Did you see the ''sueño de amor'' balloons?
Did you see that cake? (If you blink you miss it)
It's Ernie's rubber duckie from Sesame Street!
During the birthday bash, ''apañada'' with all his heart and ''a todo lujo'', Ernesto and Ricardo behave like the civilized adults they said they are. Apparently, because when they are left alone, sparks fly!  They wish they were alone to hit each other under the belt!

Luca is the MC and narrates the video with pictures they prepared for Pato using the ''euphemism'' of the ugly duckling. So embarrassing, but more when Patoluca mimic stooges # 5 and 6 and fall flat on the floor? Talk about stretching scenes to make this last 42 minutes (plus 20 if you count commercials).

Death threat #6 and 7
First raped, now slapped and her hair pulled, what else can get wrong, right?
What was Aranza doing here if she was so distraugth after the rape you might ask? Well, raped or not, dressed or undressed, this is Pato's birthday bash and a better excuse to let off all that rage she couldn't vent with her rapist, taking Kristela hostage of her anger.
The excuse? Pedro!! Pedro! In the bathroom catfight # 2 with Kristela and Aranza fighting over Pedro. Really? Did you see how ugly Kristel looks when she is upset?

Don't miss the friday's ending tomorrow! Looks like shadow #2 will be making noise!

It's just started to rain, so I said to myself, I better hurry up!

Thanks, Pablo, the recap was a hoot.

So,

Silvana got arrested. Who is going to be the new principal? Félix? Esperanza?
Tracy is supposed to shoot Ricardo. Will she give herself away with her bad Spanish syntax and pronunciation even if she is using the voice synthesizer /disguiser?
From the previews it looks like Tracy is a bad shot. Ha!
Anastasia could get a job as a professional skulker/tracker. She is doing it again outside of Pato's party.
There is a cat fight. Yay! Maybe Kristel and Ara will wear them selves out to the point that they have no energy to care about Pablo any more.
We sort of got a look at La Sombra without his stupid mask. So now we have eyes to go with the deformed hand.
The brats Paulo and Pámela were responsible for Ágata. They spoiled the fun if a real ghost story.

Hi, I'm new around here, but a longtime fan of telenovelas. Is there still a need for a recapper on Tuesdays for Sueño de Amor?

If you are interested in recapping, contact: caray@mappamundi.com
Jane will give you all of the info.

Wow Pablo. This was very creative and very, very funny.

"Nachamama likes to do everything twice, the same way she ''slept'' with both father and son is now blackmailing them" and "When he finds out it has nothing to do with the breakfast grain, he feels betrayed and disillusioned and fights like a cat about to take a bath" were my favorites.

"And while his mother talks to Ricardo about him, la sombra shows up in Palacios Institute, showing his face now to Virgilio and Homero, who gets very afraid and speechless". I did not enjoy this scene, Virgilio seemed to be having a full blown panic attack.

I am also frustrated with the lack of movement toward getting the money for Kiko's operation. Luca, open your eyes and your wallet! Now maybe I am totally off track but I think Ernesto might help too (?)

Silvana garners not one iota of sympathy for me.

In the battle of dueling girlfriends, Ara has my vote. All other reasons aside, I just don't care for Kristel.

Jarifa, thank you for "Tracy is supposed to shoot Ricardo. Will she give herself away with her bad Spanish syntax and pronunciation even if she is using the voice synthesizer /disguiser?". Simply great.

Pablo, this was awesome. Thank you.

Diana

Thanks for all your comments.

Diana, I am for Ara, too. . Kristel is coming off as quite entitled in her not being able to make up her mind between the guys and wanting everyone to put their lives and feelings on hold until she does.

Thank you, Pablo, your recap was a hoot! A++++
As I was watching, I was, more than anything else, looking forward for the show to finish so I can come on the board and complain about it. I've done some binge watching over the last few days, trying to catch up, and my brain got fried in the process. So much stupidity to go around, I wouldn't even know where to start.
Anastasia must be having a death wish, crossing Ernie won't end well for her.
Where is Tracy's accent? Did it just go away while I was blinking or what?
Kristel is getting on my last nerve, too, she was tolerable with Erasmo at first but now...Boohooo!!!

Kino, have you contacted our blog mom yet? Will you be joining the team? Yey! And welcome to the gang. You do know that all we do is complain about the show, right? And about the lack of skin that Cristian de la Fuente is showing. Why else would they cast a hottie like him and then keep him dressed all the time? I think he should have worked in construction, too. If the secret agent gig doesn't work out (and, really, how could it, seeing his grand incompetence) and his teacher gig doesn't work out, either (same reasons as job no 1), maybe Saint Luca could find him some work in his company. Just saying...

I haven't had a chance to watch Thursday's episode (stupid internet went out from 10 pm last night to 6 pm today) but I had to compliment you on the hilarious title, Pablo! I can't wait to read the rest, once I watch the episode. I gotta catch up on 4 episodes of "Yago" first to be able to recap tonight but I am thanking you in advance for all the rip-roaring laughs I am going to hav when I read your recap! :) Also, many thanks for the info you and Julia provided yesterday about healthcare options. I've always had this silly notion that healthcare and education are basic human rights and that people shouldn't be making profit off people's illnesses and health tragedies but what the heck do I know, eh?! :)

-- Kinomathematika: Welcome to our little SdA Patio! Grab a seat and join the fun! We do have an empty recapper spot for Tuesdays and would love an intrepid volunteer to join our team. As Jarifa suggested, please email our BlogMom, Jane, at: caray@mappamundi.com and let her you're interested in recapping SdA. Many thanks, indeed! :)

-- Adriana: I just caught a glimpse of your comment. Girl, what you doing? Why you scaring the newbies? We need to lure them in so we can all suffer together! :D Kino, yes the show stinks, I'm not gonna lie to you, but we have a hilarious time dissecting the (inexistent) plot and the (caricatural) characters. Besides, we get to pick up some extra Spanish along the way! Bonus! ;)

-- Kinomathematika: I emailed Jane, our BlogMom, and she said you are welcome to recap Tuesdays. Just email me your recap for the episode that airs next Tuesday (May 17) at: nandicta.cc@gmail.com and I'll post it on your behalf. Welcome to the team! :)

Oh, Nandicta. You people across the pond and your utopic notions of universal healthcare. If only the government here could get it together and do something actually useful like that. It sounds like Mexico has generally better coverage than the U.S., but only if you're part of the system. But people in telenovelalandia never seem to be able to get emergency life-saving care unless they either have cash or have a Cruz Roja hospital nearby. In gringolandia, they'll at least save your life first and bankrupt you later.

So, back to the show. This is really shaping up to be quite the party. Can it live up to the hype? Will Ricardo be foiled by even a fake Sombra? Maybe the real Sombra and all his toadies in matching Sombra costumes will show up, too! It will be such confusion!

So Princesa Confundida thinks everyone should put their lives on hold and sit there ready and willing in case she eventually chooses them? Um, okay. Which fairytale exactly does she think she lives in?

Thanks for the recap, Pablo! Excellent as usual.

Nandicta, will email Tuesday's recap. I'm actually addicted to this awesomely bad show. It's oddly entertaining.
