TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#2): Eva la Trailera, La Esclava Blanca, El Señor de los Cielos #4, Secretos, and ¿Quién es Quién?: Week of May 9, 2016
8 PM - Eva la Trailera
Labels: esclava, eva-la-t, quien, senor4, telemundo
This one is brief. Please add more. I was short on time.
Eva gives Soraya some tough love, showing her an array of methods to off herself. But when Soraya finally cries in Eva’s arms, deciding to live, Eva tells her the gun was empty and nothing on the table would have killed her.
Andy the Asqueroso pushes his luck with Camila after the breakfast he prepared. He keeps grabbing her. She gets upset and grabs a knife, actually slashing his arm. But she doesn’t walk out on him and forgives him.
Pablo tells Rey they should get a copy of the Power of Attorney Federica gave her son. Later at the son’s firm, when they try to get it, some functionary tells them that the son signed a power in turn giving his wife complete control. They won’t be shown anything. When they meet with Pablo he wonders if Federica’s son really did give such control to his wife.
Betty is bored. She offers to help Pablo with Federica’s case. Marisol comes to see her. Betty feels something is being kept from her and wonders if she’s going to die.
Eva tells Soraya bout the Furies. Robert and Cinthia try to get Marlene to kill Soraya. Marlene doesn’t want to risk it. But she hints that “others” could die, giving them that Gorgon stare.
Eva takes Soraya to Pancho’s grave and she gets a shiver touching the gravestone. She says she can sense he isn’t resting easy. That same night she dreams of the accident and wakes up speaking to Pancho. She tells him that he sent her the dream so she’d know someone tried to kill them.
Adri tells Camila about AA causing the miscarriage. [Show her a picture of the creep, please please!]
Robert is with Luis at Panchopan singing the same old tune about having Soraya declared batty when said Soraya arrives looking great. She gives Robert the bum’s rush in a very sweet tone of voice.
Later Soraya tells Eva over the phone that she and Luis got a lot resolved that day at Panchopan. They now see a way out of the crisis.
The next day Soraya is about to get into the car with Esteban when she gets a chill. She looks over to see Robert and Cinthia. She waves at them pleasantly but says there’s no doubt it was those two who killed Pancho. She says she won’t rest until they rot in jail.
Miguel doesn't come back, but the 3 inner circle guys show up heavily armed, and pointing guns everywhere, Dr. Arturo says his son's life is hanging by a thread, he wants Miguel, Nicholas doesn't cower, but keeps things calm until Morales (the acting foreman in Miguel's absence) and his gang, who are armed as well, surround them, persuading them to leave.
Nicholas tells Morales, we're leaving, and packs a bag, what?, and throws it to Morales as he mounts his horse, he instructs Morales men to guard the house, no one in or out, and have the slaves guard the entrance to Eden.
later that night they find Miguel, Nicholas seems to have this figured out, Miguel admits to hitting Jaime, Morales wants to solve all this here and now his way, Miguel explains that when Jaime said he killed Rosa, he was enraged, and Nicholas hearing about Rosa (because he was there) does a Jekyll And Hyde, what did he tell you about Rosa, till he finds out he is in the clear.
they ride to a boat landing where Nicholas has Miguel change his clothes, (that Nicholas packed), gets back the keys and gives him some money, he's sending him by ship to Santa Fe, he has a friend there that will get him on his feet, when should I come back Miguel asks, never, it's not just your life but mine as well, Nicholas adds.
and Miguel asks if he is Nicholas' son, yes, and my mother, was she just any slave, no Nicholas tells him, I loved her, but it was not to be.
as he leaves, Nicholas tells Morales he can be foreman again but only if he completes a task, find a slave the same height and weight as Miguel, but not from around here.
Victoria prays (is that her necklace, did Tomas make another one) swears that if Miguel comes back, she will forget about her revenge.
on the boat Miguel meets a guy saying he is a poet, and Miguel is really out of place around free men, says he is a businessman named Julio, and joins a card game where he seems to be winning, this worries me, oh and Miguel said he was not going to Santa Fe.
Nicholas and Morales arrive back at Eden, the General is there with his troops awaiting their return, they have Miguel's body with them, Nicholas says he shot him himself, then tells Morales to take it to a shed, after formal greetings the men retire to the shed to identify the body, his face is badly damaged but he's wearing the same clothes, even Tomas thinks it's him, while the doctor hovers about, and Victoria shows up for a look, the General tells her the law is sometimes cruel, I don't know how she kept it together but does till she gets back to her room.
Nicholas tells Morales, just a coffin and bury him, no formal ceremony, and the men go back to the house for a stiff drink.
Tomas, Trinidad, Milagros and a few others carry the coffin out to the grave, Morales is getting impatient and kicks the coffin into the hole and gets them back to work.
Isabel brings Victoria chocolates to cheer her up but Victoria snaps at her, she tells Remi she wants nothing but bad for that family.
Tomas is worried about Victoria, Milagros says she's tough, yes but things like this change people Tomas says.
Adela writes a letter to ?? (Spain) asking if there is something wrong with the Marquise, as they may send her back unwed, gave the letter to her slave to take to the post office, tell no one, and hurry.
great recap novelera!
absolutely loved the way Soraya handled Robert, sorry but the company can not afford to hire a financial advisor, let me walk you to the door so you will never be coming back.
and thanks for elaborating on Federica's problem, I wasn't getting the power of attorney stuff.
Thanks so much novelera.
"Adri tells Camila about AA causing the miscarriage. [Show her a picture of the creep, please please!]" I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for her to pull out her cellphone or something. Let's hope this development doesn't go much further. Camila's fury will know no bounds when she finds out.
And didn't Soraya look fabulous in the blue dress? And I loved how she waved and smiled at her evil neighbors as though nothing at all were amiss.
Ok, how did I not know that I could watch Telemundo's TNs online without paying or waiting a week for the latest episodes?? This is awesome!
I just binge-watched the first 14 or so episodes of La Esclava Blanca. Holy moly is it hard to watch some scenes but it's so well done! I think they should have had a different actor play young Nicolas because the 23 years later version looks like he hasn't aged at all... I do like the actor though, even though his character is a disgusting murderer/rapist. I'm having a hard time with the accents (not used to the disappearing s sound) so thank goodness for the CC's.
How am I ever going to watch "normal" TN's again after this and El Hotel de los Secretos??
Random thought this morning. I wonder if Telemundo (and Uni as well) has a craftsperson who specializes in creating Styrofoam gravestones to spray paint grey. They surely don't carve the names of the defunct TN characters in actual marble. And there's always plenty of graves for the protagonists to monologue beside. What a niche job!
“Señora Acero 3, La Coyote” what? no Blanca Soto?
kicks off production in Mexico,
"Carolina Miranda makes her TELEMUNDO debut as Vicenta Rigores, a courageous and wild beauty who stands out in the male-dominated smuggling world as the most feared and notorious coyote on the US-Mexican border."
what? Laura Flores is in the cast, and Alejandro Speitzer.
read all about it,

@Steve Boudreaux Adri has already lost the baby and everybody knows it. What Eva doesn't know is that Andy caused it.
@novelera That sort of thing is precisely what I do for a living, although never a styrofoam grave stone. It's a simple job for a designer in the prop shop to hand off a graphics file to a fabricator who then laser-cuts the foam and then it goes to the paint shop. Aint theater wonderful All illusion.
I'm not currently watching this due to time constraints, but fully intend to "binge watch" some time in the future. Meanwhile, I thought I would share this resource I just stumbled upon: The Transatlantic Slave Trade Database published by a consortium of researchers including the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Jaime (who was badly beaten by Miguel) is bedridden and hurting, his dad the doctor says it takes time, but why can't I move my hand.
Miguel/Julio I guess won at the card game, the poet wakes him up for a rematch, Miguel just wants to sleep, the next night they arrive in Honda, as Miguel looks for a place to spend the night and once again runs into the poet, and a couple of other guys who beat him unconscious, they don't like to see a freedman get ahead.
Victoria is late for dinner, but asks that they marry right away, a small wedding Isabel wants music, ok music and Father Octavio, Nicholas is for it, Adela not, Victoria leaves to rest for the big day, Adela dismisses Isabel to talk to Nicholas, he doesn't want to talk, she says the woman is crazy, surrounded by bad luck, Nicholas reminds her how well Isabel is doing, Adela won't stay in the same house with her, works for Nicholas, they have a house in Santa Marta where she can live.
the General and his two sons eat dinner, he is not happy with Alonso for going around him to get Gabriel out of jail, and he doesn't want Gabriel to be a bum, teach him everything you know about business.
the soldiers find Miguel unconscious and take him to jail, but I am a freedman Miguel says, you have no papers, I was robbed of everything, the soldiers aren't buying it, later he gets a cellmate, Felipe, and learns there is no slavery in Mexico, but for now Miguel wants out of there and back to Santa Marta, my only crime is my race.
Victoria visits Tomas and Milagros, tells them the plans have changed, she wants justice, and for the Parreños to suffer, she will be able to free all the slaves, you can count on me Milagros says, Tomas is like, these people never learn.
Victoria leaves, Tomas walks with Milagros, he doesn't want her to marry, Milagros says you need to choose a side.
next morning Adela leaves and takes Hilaria and some other slaves, Victoria acts nice to her, getting her riled, Adela knows Victoria is hiding something, Isabel is sad to see her go, but Victoria reminds her she will now be free.
Tomas talks to Siervo, the limping house servant, I think he is from the palenque and I think Tomas let's him in on Victoria, so the Marquise is the last of the Quinteros, I'll help because I am your friend, Tomas wants him to search through Nicholas' things looking for something about ownership of Eden, you'll know it when you see it.
the soldiers come for Felipe, (I'm not sure but I think he comes from a big name family but he is an abolitionist), they take him out of the cell and beat him, but Miguel reaches through the bars and grabs the jefe by the neck causing a commotion bringing in the big boss who breaks it up, they take Felipe away, (was he being released)
it's wedding day at the church, Isabel is the ring bearer (she's fun to watch, always excited about everything) they exchange rings and Father Octavio pronounces them man and wife, they kiss.
there is a reception at Eden, music, Nicholas and Victoria do an awkward two step while the slaves have the rhythm, Victoria has Reme worried about their wedding night because Victoria has a plan,
the General is there, a bit drunk, Isabel should be starting a family soon, asks Nicholas if he has made a choice, and reminds him of Alonso (but Isabel likes Gabriel who is also there) later Victoria and Nicholas talk, he doesn't like either one of them but more so with Gabriel, that boy is hiding something (Nicholas is always so sharp, he must be blinded when it comes to Victoria)
two soldiers come back for Miguel, they want to know who he stole the clothes from, they're mine Miguel says, as they come into the cell to beat it out of him, but Miguel is getting the better of them when, BOOM, a big whole is blown in the wall knocking them out, and someone has come in to get Miguel.
Gabriel has traveled, Isabel wants to hear all about it, they dance, and later he wants to try the drum they are playing, the General waits for him to make a fool of himself, but wow, can he play.
[Gabriel Márquez is listed in the cast as being played by Andrés Parra, who played Pablo Escobar, I'm trying to figure out if this is a mistake or is this actor is that good to do these two different parts]
Victoria whispers something romantic in Nicholas' ear, says she will meet him in the cellar, no one will bother us there, and we see her plan, she pours ?? oil maybe, on the stairs and blows out the candles, but alas, Nicholas is being held up by the General, and Reme is informed they are out of wine so she will take care of it, oh no, she heads for the wine cellar, and takes the fall, Victoria comes out of hiding and is aghast, she runs to Nicholas for help...
ah yes, what do I remember?
Soraya's dream confirms to her that Pancho's death was not an accident, and her chills around the Monteverdes confirms they were responsible, Pablo explains they need proof.
JJ has been avoiding Marisol who thinks that he just uses here and leaves, but he gets her alone and tries to explain, it's about her being raped, she has a look that's hard to read.
with Betty screaming in the background, (she needs Pablo to carry her to the bathroom) and what could ever go wrong with this Betty thingy, Eva doesn't want to find out and starts to run for it, so the meeting moves to Pablo's office, where Pablo wants to know if Eva thinks about him when she gets in bed at night, thinks about him with his arms around her, thinks about... between a few hot kisses she escapes, but admits that she does (so cute), and they both miss the equestrian therapy, which Diego in his too honest way relays back to Betty.
Fabi seems to be getting interested in Diego as all the other ladies in the house have novios.
Marlene gets a list of Eva's new clients to compare with the ones Mon-Sol has lost, not sure what her plan there is, but Andy gets to take care of Eva's drivers, hiring the two guys that killed Pancho, who are now stalking Enrique, getting ready for a run to Chicago.
and Martha ?? (the secretary) seems to be listening in on Marlene when ever she can.
Adri wants to join the Furies, but Eva doesn't want her involved, so Adri spills on Andy causing the loss of her baby, QUE? and with a concentrated effort of all the Furies, they manage to keep Eva's head from exploding, and Adri becomes the newest member.
yes SpanProf, I also loved Luis getting into the PanchoPan groove, carrying on for his father, Soraya always adds a spark to life just as Eva adds the drive.
what else?
Romy- glad you're hanging on, as novelera said this show is riveting.
Miguel de Miguel is doing a magnificent job as Nicholas,
and Nicholas is such a (can't find a word) character, he is keeping ahead of the bad guys (meeting Miguel at a predetermined location with what he needs to escape because he suspected the ambush) while being a bad guy himself and then justifying what he does with perfect logic.
I think the moral of the story is that no one wins with slavery, but the idea that Victoria can reclaim Eden and free all the slaves I find fascinating, don't have a clue how she can do it (she is pretty much dead as soon as Nicholas finds out), and if she does, why would the others allow it.
I keep thinking Victoria should go to the Padre Octavio, who can confirm who she is, but then he never opposes the owners.
so I think it's going to take the slaves standing behind her and the General enforcing the law, to make this work, but then aren't we coming up to a time when slavery is abolished?
and this thing where she marries Nicholas, isn't this it's own type of slavery in the 1800's.
oh and Morales and his crew, who are these guys, and where do they come from, do they work for wages, something like ranch hands?
Friday was capítulo 19 out of 61 reported by wiki.
oh and Honda (as near as I can tell) is a place in the Canary Islands, and Santa Fe is on mainland Spain.
Romy
I just caught up on all 19 episodes so far. I am disappointed Victoria married Nicolas but at least she had a better reason than Isabel marrying Diego on El Hotel (especially since I still have no idea why Isabel did it...)
I find Nicolas intriguing, but I also hate that. I know he's a murderer and rapist yet he defends his slaves and helps Miguel and seems to sincerely love his daughter and Lucia. Ugh, I want to hate him 100% of the time but I can't. Now, Adela and Morales I have no problem hating 1,000% of the time...
I really hope Isabelita doesn't turn on Victoria when some truths start coming out. I like their relationship and hope that poor girl actually has a happy ending (at least for now). I'm also hoping Eugenia gets past her jealousy so she and Victoria can be friends as well. Strong women need to stick together! Especially in 1843!
Hooray! The spunky Soraya I'm a fan of is back. I love the way she escorted Robert out of the office.
I also hope that nothing happens to Enrique.
I remember Gustavo Pedraza from "En Otra Piel" as Rottweiler (his bandana drove me nuts because he wore it over his eyes and I wanted to reach in the TV and pull it up), but I don't remember him from "Bajo El Mismo Cielo". He played someone named Casper, but I don't remember seeing him unless he was one of the gang members.
