Tres Veces Ana - Episodes 5 & 6 - A would-be reunion gone awry

These episodes are flying by, aren't they? 5 and 6 already!

Will use this chance to mention that if anybody out there would like to join the recapping team, Sneaky two shoes, Jardinera and I would love some company, even if you would like to recap once every other week or so. Please comment and let us know!

With that, on to our intriguing and fascinating episode(s)...

We start out with a mysterious woman, living in Remedios's hostel. The woman has suffered a lot and does not like to be with people. So Remedios brings her dinner upstairs. (The woman is Asuncion from Alborada, if anyone watched that!) Woman gets up to look at the picture...and cut! Anybody would like to venture a guess as to who she turns out to be?

Ana Lucia is trying to convince Soledad to let her attend the show. She pleads nicely and seems to have met with success. What can possibly happen in a day, asks Ana Lucia? Well...let's just wait two hours and see. It will turn out plenty! Soledad takes her as far as bus station, wishes her to dance pretty and hands her over to Orlando with instructions to take good care of her. Ana Lu happily skips away.

Having dispatched Ana Lucia, Soledad is taking coffee with Chana, who pries into her relationship with Isidro. Soledad doesn't even dignify the subject with a sentence. Chana entertains herself by doing a reading on Soledad's coffee grounds and promises Soledad a trip in the future. I gotta say I like that the town 'bruja' in this TN does not have the usual cliched cape, torn dirty clothes and greasy hair. Chana will do quite nicely!

Ramiro is remembering his talk with Evaristo - grandfather of his ex-fiance Gina. The grandfather tells him Gina had a hard life, her mother died and she was left with two siblings. She missed her mother, got in with the wrong crowd (man), spent time in jail, but when she got out, she was determined to change her life. She really loves Ramiro, otherwise she wouldn't have hidden her past from him. Marcelo told Evaristo about the noble nature of Ramiro and that's why Ev came to tell that Gina really loves him. Ramiro blows a gasket and looks like he is ready to pass out at various points in this conversation. Finally he declares that the lie of this magnitude cannot be forgiven. Knowing he was ready to walk out anyway, sounds a little hypocritical... Of course he was probably also trying to prove to himself that it was not him who was breaking Gina's heart, but she was the one who was at fault.

After he was done reminiscing, he ventured into town to ask about Sofia Hernandez. He gets information about Soledad, and while he is waiting for it, he conveniently turns away from the bus he was staring at, right as Ana Lucia exits and pauses to look around. 'Tis ok, we knew it's not telenovela time for reunions quite yet. Ramiro, though, is two for two: yesterday he passed right by Marcelo, and, if you believe it, his day is about to get much much worse yet.

He goes to the last known residence of Soledad Hernandez and finds there... Evaristo. They share a cup of water, Ramiro tries telling him he regrets not forgiving Gina. Evaristo looks like he couldn't care less and offers a toast. He is much more intrigued by the fact the Ramiro is looking for one Soledad Hernandez, and no - he never met her in his life, though he is living in her old house. He offers to ask his landlords and takes Ramiro's hotel information, and then helpfully offers for Ramiro to ask around, perhaps neighbors remember her. After Ramiro leaves, Ev calls Soledad to let her know the past is repeating itself - there is a man asking for her and her daughter.

Ramiro gets back to hotel room, calls Ana Laura, who asks him a million questions. He doesn't have answers, but he does tell her he called last night and Ana Leticia said Ana Laura was asleep. They verify it wasn't true, but Ana Laura wants to let this go.

In the meantime Santi is helping out Anibal with his car. Car needs repair and Anibal needs transport to Santa Cecilia, where he has been invited to a show. That's right - same Santa Cecilia where Ana Lu has gone with her crew, and same show that Ana Lu will participate in. What an interesting coincidence, isn't it! Anibal asks for Santi to drive him and he complies.

So everybody ends up at the same show. Santiago and Anibal walk in and take a seat, and who would sit right behind them, but Ramiro, evidently having decided to take a break from the life of a detective. So now they are just mocking us - these two sit separated by a foot, and that's right - you guessed it, they don't see each other. The group performs, Ana Lu is a star and all eyes are on her.

After the performance the group is getting together for a small celebration, and Anibal is invited. He introduces the teacher to Santiago and expresses interest in the lead performer - Ana Lucia - to be hired into his own group, which apparently is famous in the dancing circles. Teacher walks over to introduce them to Ana Lucia. Ana Lucia and Santiago see each other, she yells his name, he calls her 'mi amor' and before we know it they are kissing. Maestra and Anibal are just as surprised as we are, especially a moment later, when Santiago tells Ana Lu he didn't know she was a dancer. Anibal calls Santi his chauffeur and Ana Lu didn't know he was a taxi driver either. It becomes clear they are very "well" acquainted!

While Ana Lu and Santi hug, Orlando sees them and is ready to pounce. Maribel tells him to go outside and she will get Santiago to come out, so Orlando can beat him up. Ana Lu, Anibal and Santi are sitting down and Anibal offers Ana Lu a job in his group in Mexico. Ana Lu needs to think, she needs to learn more, she isn't ready. Anibal wants to convince her. Maribel shows up, pulls Ana Lu away and tells her Orlando is waiting for Santi outside to clock him, so she better take Santi away. Ana Lu happily complies, and in the meantime Maribel takes a seat next to Anibal, introduces herself and lets him know there isn't anything she wouldn't do for this job. She is better than Ana Lu, too, because Ana Lu is late, disorganized and a conflict personality! Remind me again - Maribel is supposed to be the BEST friend? Jeez. Anibal says convince Ana Lu to join and I will hire you both.

Outside Ramiro exits the theater and is accosted by two men. They knock him to the ground and proceed to beat him up pretty good. I would have thought he would be able to defend a little better, but then again - I've never been in a fight against two scrawny dudes, so I don't judge. He is unconscious and, in a surprise revelation, we see that the mastermind was the stalker Orlando, who thought his friends were beating up Santi. I was totally blaming Evaristo when this brawl started! Orlando realizes the mistake and scrambles away. Ramiro is left on the ground.

Meanwhile, Santi and Ana Lu are sitting by the lake talking about him dreaming her face, whether or not it's really her he is dreaming about, and whether he is really married. He ventures a guess that even if he was married, his wife by now has probably moved on. In the middle of the romantic moment, Ana Lu remembers the bus is departing at ten, and she must go. They decide they will meet as agreed in the previous note Santi left and she swiftly departs.

At the bus stop everybody is anxiously awaiting her and maestra is ready to leave. Orlando offers to stay behind and escort Ana Lu back to San Nicholas. Maribel offers to keep him company, but is declined. She hisses that Ana Lu might not appear until the morning, why wait. Orlando says it's not good for a girl that pretty to be so jealous. First sensible thing this character said. Maribel is becoming aggravating. Just as the bus is departing, Ana Lu appears, they board the bus and she tells Orlando she was with her boyfriend. He is shocked.

Ok, so that was for the main plot and now on to supporting storyline.

Ana Laura is invited by her piano teacher to perform at a concert. She agonizes whether she should, because everybody will be looking at her prosthetic leg and not listening to her play. She is ultimately convinced by abuela and performs beautifully. There is actually a nice parallel of her playing the piece and Ana Lu performing in the show. As Ana Laura concludes, the audience is clapping and we see a nice looking young man appear quite taken by her. The teacher introduces Ana Laura and extends his hand asking her to get up. Of course she trips, falls, gets up and runs away in tears.

Ana Laura is then consoled by her grandmother, but is not having any of it. Ana Leticia asks for a shot at calming her, and her rude tactics actually work. Not sure how Ana Laura does not see through her. A calmer Ana Laura asks Ana Leticia to explain why she didn't let her talk to Ramiro the night before. Ana Leticia explains that she is protecting her sister, as Ramiro is only interested in her money, and Ana Laura is an heiress. Both of them are. Ana Laura corrects her - there are three of them. Ana Leticia doesn't believe their sister is alive.

Ana Laura gets ready to sleep and calls Ramiro, who finally got himself back to hotel after pulling himself off the ground in the back yard of a local theater. Ramiro is in the shower and doesn't pick up. Ana Laura is full of doubts again. Later Ramiro, with great intent, scribbles Soledad's name onto Marcelo's map. All of his stuff goes back in his backpack and early morning he is on the road to San Nicholas. He gets to a hotel, asks to check in, and by the time he and attendant return for luggage, his car was broken into and the backpack, along with computer, photos and all his detective info, are missing. Ramiro is incredulous that he just cannot catch a break. What will become of his investigation he laments... Somehow, I am hopeful he'll fare well - he just needs to start looking around himself more, especially in these two towns. Interesting faces to be seen.

Elsewhere throughout the show Ana Leticia and Inaki are providing comic relief. They are off to their first real estate sale appointment. Inaki is hoping to catch a cab, and while he is pondering that, Ana Leticia jumps in her convertible, asks him if he knows the address and not to be late. Off she is, leaving him running behind her. They do, however, both arrive there on time, in case you were on the edge of your seat with this one! Inaki is hoping to wow prospective buyers with his knowledge of the house and house's history, but Ana Leticia doesn't even let him talk and goes on and on about how beautiful this vintage house is. The buyers are charmed with Ana Leticia and want to buy the house. In a debrief with Mariano, Inaki says they got lucky, and he couldn't offload any important house information, because Ana Leticia didn't let him talk. She is shocked with this blatant case of tattle-tale. Mariano thinks she has a thing for Inaki, but he tells her to also concentrate and succeed. She will meet millions of Inakis on her way, and this business will one day be hers. Ana Leticia thinks Inaki doesn't stand a chance. Inaki runs into Santi on his way out and tells him the whole story. Santi laughs that Inaki seems taken by Ana Leticia anyway, but Inaki, in turn, thinks it is him who will triumph.

We end on Evaristo's visit to Soledad. He came to remind he is always there for her and has done a ton to protect her in the past. He comes with two grandsons and Ramiro's backpack in tow. Soledad worries about thievery, but Ev wants to show her what's inside. Just as they lay it all out, Ana Lu bursts in, as she forgot her purse. She wants to know who those people are and what they are looking at. Tomorrow should be interesing!!

Did I miss anything? Please fill in!

Thanks, Ria, for another great recap of two more good episodes. A lot of fun so far!

So who is that mystery woman? I think her name was Nerina. No guesses from me.

It just was not Ramiro's episode with the misplaced beating, loss of his computer and investigative records, and being out maneuvered by Evaristo. It was sad hearing his regret for not forgiving Gina. Then he calls up Ana Laura and all she seems interested in is the investigation and not him.

The story is sure getting curiouser with Evaristo and his background maneuvers.

Ha! Uncle Mariano did not fire Iñaki like Ana Leticia wanted. She was such a brat with him. At least Iñaki let Mariano know that Ana Leticia did not let him talk to the clients at all.

Sorry but Ana Laura needed help like a lifetime ago. The constant poor me/tears are annoying and we are only six episodes in. I did not even feel bad for her when Ana Leticia was giving her the business. Just shows the great job Angelique Boyer is doing.,

Someone needs to pull the plug on Orlando. Knowing what we know about him, it was creepy when Soledad told him to look out for Ana Lucía. I loved the look on his face when Ana Lucía said she had been with her "novio." Ana Lucía needs a new partner for her aerial work ASAP!

So Iñaki and Santiago also know each other. I could not believe him telling Santiago in the taxi all about Ana Leticia. The truth for Santiago is so close yet so far.

Knowing that Orlando was the one who asked those boys to beat up Santiago (eventhough that plan failed). I dislike Orlando evenmore now. What is that guy's problem? Doesn't he understand what "I don't love you means? He needs to take a hike...When Ana Leticia was wiping off her make-up/remembering Marcelo, all I kept thinking of was;blood thirsty vampire! Blood thirsty vampire! Btw has anyone noticed that the Alvarez's house looks exactly or is the same house used as the Mendoza's house in Lo que la vida me robo, except that this one is white...anyway, loving the moments between Ana Lucia and Santiago. I am really scared of what Ana Leticia is capable of doing, now that we know in the Avances that she finds out from Gina's grampa that Marcelo is alive

Ria, thank you so much! It made for excellent read. The only thing I noticed is that you said Ramiro was with A Letie showing house. I know you meant Inaki because then you started using his name afterwards. I am sure everyone knew you you meant Inaki.

You are skilled storyteller and it shows you enjoy recapping. Thank you again, I love that I could read before going to sleep. It was very good.

Leticia

Anon 2:35 am, boy are you ever right about Ana Leticia being a blood thirsty vampire. I knew she was going to be manipulative and not nice. But her evilness is creeping me out. I have bad premonition that she indeed is bad seed, sociopath with black heart and a vampire! She looked real scary and ugly when she was starring into her mirror thinking of Marcello. Anyways just wanted to say I think she will get even more disturbing further into novela.

Leticia

Wonderful recap Ria!

I heartily agree that AnaLa constant sadness and near tears seems overkill. I could understand her being shy and reserved, but seems to me this is a young woman in a serious depression and no one sees it for what it is. And please, I love music, and I studied classical piano, but those songs were sooooo depressing, and frankly, though beautiful, not that difficult. Wish they had maybe faked someone with more serious skills if they want us to believe in her "talent".

Meribel can get hit by that bus any time now. The actress always has a tendency to bug me, even when she's a more positive character, but she's nothing but a back-stabbing Mean Girl in this one. With friends like that....

Too much Ramiro. I know, key player in this tale, but I'm not a Zepeda fan, the character is borderline frustrating and I'd rather watch Inaki's and AnaLe getting on each other's nerve. Something about this guy I like...so far. Loved Uncle's smirk as they left the office.

The "jump in" novio with Santi and AnaLu is a little hard to believe on her part, but this poor thing is sheltered and at her age to have a mother who won't let her go anywhere, well, she may be more than happy to go for it and sub-consciously get out from under mom's controlling thumb. She loves her, but there has to be a feeling of wanting to rebellion to pursue the one thing her mother doesn't seem happy about to prove she is a grown up. I'm all for it...you go girl.

Thanks for catching that Leticia - all fixed!

Daisynjay - very good to have a perspective of a piano player, thanks! I was wondering about those songs and performance.

Ria- Another fantastic recap! Thank you!

To be fair, it was actually three guys who attacked Ramiro. No matter how fit he is, I wouldn't expect a CPA to whoop three fit acrobats/dancers single handed, and he got a few good hits in at first. I fear for his life now that we know Evaristo is Leticia's inside man. Surprised she just hasn't had Lucia killed and be done with it. No fear of her being found then.

Daisynjay, good point about the depression. Since when do characters in the novela world see psychological illnesses or addictions for what they are in some kind of timely manner ? Seems like never.

Ria..thank you for that excellent retelling. I like INaki. is that a common name?

Perfect Ria. Thanks

"It becomes clear they are very "well" acquainted!"

How old are these girls? The only adult in the bunch is Ana Leticia but use the term loosely. At least she can drive so at least 16.

We hear Ana Laura is some sweet, kind waif but I don't see anything but self absorption. I understand if she were 12. Maybe she volunteers at the petting zoo or something?

For a free spirit Ana Lucia is not free.

Two surprises. Orlando behind the beatdown intended for Santiago and the smash and grab. I didn't hear the glass break outside the open lobby.

Ana Laura should have gotten therapy long ago to come to terms with her parents' death and the loss of her leg. In some ways I agree with Ana Leticia that this weepy act does nothing more than draw all the attention to her. But Ana Leticia is also annoying with her Jan Brady act-- "Laura, Laura, Laura! What about ME, ME, ME?!!!" She actually needs to see a psychiatrist. Girl is loca.

I need Laura to tone down the weepy, and for Orlando and Maribel to join Cirque du Soleil, far away in Canada. The rest, I'm enjoying.

Thanks, Ria. Terrific job.

Yep, poor Ramiro was surrounded and didn’t have a chance, but he represented CPAs pretty well with his early punching.

Hope it doesn’t take Ana Lucia too long to find out what Maribel really is.

Ana Laura needs to stop going to that rehab center where the kids in wheelchairs are revved to succeed because she'll suck the life out of them. I have a theory though that it’s not the leg missing that’s at the root but that time she spent stuck and terrified in the car while the other two girls floated out.

Wondering if Ana Leticia had anything to do with disappearing her husband. She said to herself that she knows he loved her. From her flashback, she misses that hot bod, but did she love him? She hit on his best friend Ramiro while she was married to him, so I guess I can answer that.

The triplets should be 24 or 25 years old.

Ana Laura is just as self centered as Ana Leticia, just packaged in a different way.

Santiago & Inaki were shown to have known each other Tuesday night when they were talking at Remedios' house.

ANA LETICIA'S GAME

Ana Leticia's game has been revealed: it's to have it all. She wants Ernestina's, the Alvarez del Castillo AND Mariano's fortunes all for herself. We know this is why she doesn't want Ana Lucia found but it's also why she needs Mariano & Ana Laura to be alone.

When Ernestina dies and Ana Lucia is not found/declared definitely dead, Ernestina's fortune passes to Leticia & Laura 50/50, same as their parents' fortune.

If Mariano dies and is not married and has no children, Leticia & Laura will inherit HIS fortune 50/50.

If Ana Laura dies unmarried & without children, Ana Leticia inherits HER estate.

So Ana Leticia needs Mariano & Ana Laura to die alone and unmarried so she can have it all.

MARIBEL

Maribel is a hater. Has zero to do with Orlando. If this was all about Orlando, Maribel would be ENCOURAGING Analu to go off with Santiago. She'd be encouraging Analu to sign that contract and go off to Mexico so she can stay with Orlando.

But it's not about Orlando, Maribel just wants what Ana Lucia has. Anibal isn't buying what Maribel was selling about Ana Lucia being lazy, irresponsible & having a bad attitude. Ana Lucia wouldn't be that great of a dancer if she was all that Maribel described.

So because Maribel just wants what Ana Lucia has, expect Maribel to come on to Santiago (and get flicked away like lint, which will make her even more madder at Analu).

Orlando needs to get a life. Ana Lucia never professed any attraction to him, any feelings towards him beyond friendship, never led him on. He has this sense of ownership over Ana Lucia that is not cute and I need for Ramiro & Santicelo administer a beat down at least once before the Gran Final.

Anon207- Yep, Ana Leticia wants it ALL!

Thanks, Ria! "Interesting faces to be seen" indeed. I can't decide whether I'm more amused or annoyed by all of these near-misses!

THe actress playing Maribel always got on my last nerve on SOmbra. IN that show, I wanted her to dial back her perkiness. In this one, she seems to be sipping the haterade (stole this from another blog ;-)

Only time I liked Orlando was when he was telling Maribel to stop with the hating on Ana Lucia, and told her that she was pretty, but her attitude was ugly.

First, thank you Sneaky Two Shoes for your great recap. I just posted a late comment.

Ria,your recap was excellent. I particularly liked your observation on Chana: "... I like that the town 'bruja' in this TN does not have the usual cliched cape, torn dirty clothes and greasy hair. Chana will do quite nicely!" Totally agree.

I'm mesmerized by Angelique. She seamlessly and effortlessly seems to morph into each of the 3 characters...How physically and mentally draining this must be!

Jarifa, I liked your astute observation: "I have a theory though that it’s not the leg missing that’s at the root but that time she spent stuck and terrified in the car while the other two girls floated out". Very interesting.

Anon 207 "Ana Laura is just as self centered as Ana Leticia, just packaged in a different way". Wow! You are right...

Santiago is not all that alluring or attractive to me. Nice guy, little charisma. I think his previous persona (sorry, can't remember the name) seemed like a far more interesting character.

Vivi, I also enjoyed Orlando telling Maribel her jealousy was showing. And it wasn't a pleasant view.

Thank you again Ria.

Diana

Diana, I wish had made that observation, but it was not me.

Gracias Ria

This episode was quite annoying with Ramiro getting beat up & Ana Laura's tears, I have to agree that A Laura is starting to grt aggrevating, She has a future right aheaed of hear but tosses it out all because of her disability. She must feel that she is the only person experiencing disability. Those who are disabled should feel insulted. That man from the theater (Carlos De La Mota) will obviously fall in love with her unhappily . I can smell the cliche coming!

Ramiro is dumb as a wire for trusting Ev. I just insulted wires!

Inaki's antics on A Leticia are funny to watch.

Both Orlando & Maribel belong to eachother.

The dance was fabolous, it felt divine. I want to know that music. Is it a new single from Boyer?

Can they stop teasing things and letting us to speculate on anything? We know A Leticia's goals , Gina's possible return and that Ev &Soledad have a shady past from just a few episodes. It's irritating that I will know most of the plot from my cliche list and not from actually watching the show.

I like the actress playing Chana. SHe has the ability to play both good and bad characters with equal believability. She was a bright spot in the lamentable "La Gata"..or as I always think of " Meet Me at the DUmp."

What concerns me about Orlando is that he has support from Soledad for being the one to watch over AnaLu and that gives him some leverage on thinking he's some sort of "chosen" one. What happens if that relationship is threatened? Something about him makes me think he could take an ugly turn as a character.

Niecie I like your analysis of Meribel. She is just plain jealous of anything AnaLu has and is, but it's the old adage of "keep your enemies closer". She plays the friends, but her Mean Girl real attitude is a person who would lie and take down AnaLu in a second if she could. Right now I see nothing redeeming or positive about the character..so maybe another one that has the potential of going dark.

The deck is stacked against AnaLu and AnaLa, and if AnaLe hooks up or gets to find out about any of these other people, I could see her using them against her sisters.

And that goes for Soledad to me. Lord help me, sitting at that table with the friendly neighborhood bruja, she came off very severe and "witchy" to me. Seems she turned the corner on a broken, caring mother long ago. Now it's obsession to keep what she thinks is hers.

You can best believe Maribel will team up with Ana Leticia to do harm to Ana Lucia!

I'm a little discouraged by how few characters I like in this story. I like Ana Lu, I like Ramiro, and I don't mind Santi. But the rest of the characters are actively obnoxious, mildly threatening, or generally worrisome. Except for Ana Lau, who is just pitiful. Hopefully she ends up getting some self-esteem eventually, but I don't know if I can wait long enough for that to happen!

I'm so happy to have found this site. I'm just learning Spanish and fell in love with telenovelas on Netflix. That was 6 months ago. I watched Teresa a month ago and loved the stars. I was excited to find out about this new series, but realized there would be no English subtitles, unlike Netflix.

Then I got the idea of recaps and found this site. Thanks to those of you who take the time to write these recaps. I know it takes hours to do. I really appreciate it.

Hi, Babs. Welcome to the patio. This site was originated by our blogmom Jane. There are wonderful, dedicated recappers and faithful commentors. I think that you will like it here!

Hi Babs. If you watch on Univision and your TV can do CC3 captions, you should be able to get English captions. (No promise that they'll be great, though!)

Welcome, Babs!

Fab recap!!

I'm always a day behind watching the shows. I'll see last night's tonight. Hopefully when they go to an hour I can be on top.

AnaLe is definitely a sociopath who wants no one happy but herself. I don't see how her Tio doesn't feel her creepiness around him.

Also, AnaLa, along with not getting any therapy, was probably verbally and emotionally abused by AnaLe her whole life. Ramiro needs to sweep this girl away, far away.

If Gina is still alive, the withdrawal of money from her bank account would clear AnaLe in my eyes. But then who said she was dead? The Grandfather? Was there no showing, no funeral?

I'm interested to see in what order the secrets start coming out. Seems like once one is discovered the rest will come on the heels, since now Santi and AnaLu are a package deal.

Welcome Babs! I'm just like you. I started watching one TN, thinking it would improve my Spanish, got lost and luckily found this blog. I've been here almost 3 years I think.

Susanlynn - not sure if Inaki is a common name, but you made me curious and I looked it up! Wikipedia claims it is a neologism from Ignatius, with Spanish analog of Ignacio. Interesting!!

Niecie - I am wondering the same thing on Ana Le's involvement in Marcelo's disappearance!

Vivi - agreed. Orlando's only good deed so far was in knocking Maribel down a couple notches.

Diana, thanks for the comments! I have to say I am with you liking Marcelo persona more than lost Santiago. Will be interesting to see how those mesh when he gets his memory back!

Countx - the dance was amazing indeed. Not sure what the music was but there is a snippet of the soundtrack on youtube if you search under novela name and "Vuela"

Daisynjay - Soledad is a strange one. She switches between caring almost hepless looking mother to obsessed witchy in a jiffy!

Hi Julie! Don't abandon us just yet. Three characters is plenty to root for and sounds like those three will get majority of screen time. Then there are entertaining ones like Inaki and the circus crew. Definitely seems like there's plenty of clichés coming our way, but at least we will go through them in good company, right? :)

Hi Babs!! Welcome and please feel free to participate often! I am a very new recapped myself and everybody here is welcoming and encouraging!

Carvivlie - I am not clear either who said Gina was dead. Did she disappear and Ev is covering for her? Did Ana Le make her disappear and Ev thinks she is dead? Or is she really dead? The third would be the dullest option.

Tofie - you made me laugh with your age comment. I was wondering the same yesterday!!

I'm not sure who told Ramiro that Gina died, I think it was Evaristo (Gina's grampa).

Soledad asked Evaristo how his granddaughter (Gina) was doing last night, and Evaristo told her that Gina was dead.

Maybe Gina knew that AnaLet wanted to get rid of her because she was the only one who could expose AnaLet as being the mastermind behind the whole plan. So Gina fakes her death, empties her bank account, gets Ev to cover for her, and runs far away, hopefully to return at a much dramatic moment.

I think Gina is dead. It was Ramiro's dad who broke the news to Ramiro. We saw Ana Leticia give Gina the bottles of pills. There wouldn't be any reason for Gina to play dead if she wasn't getting anything out of it. She's not running from the law. She had already served her time in jail. She didn't steal any money from Ramiro (because she was being paid by Ana Leticia). No way Ana Leticia would let her roam free when she could expose her backdoor dealings (unless she gave her a HUGE payout). Gina was a liability to Ana Leticia as soon as she admitted to Ana Leticia that she fell in love for real with their mark, Ramiro.

So far we have seen Ana Leticia set honey traps (hire women) to keep Tio Mariano occupied and unmarried, and to keep Ramiro distracted (by lust or guilt) to keep him from marrying Ana Laura.

Now whether Gina is really dead is in question, because the actress playing Gina has her name in the credits and I doubt seriously she'll just be playing Flashback Gina.

I don't think Gina is dead and I don't think Evaristo thinks she's dead. She was trying to fake a suicide to hold on to Ramiro and I think Ana Leticia gave her stronger pills than what she thought she was taking. I think Evaristo has Gina hidden away to recover and then she will come back to get revenge on Ana Leticia and Ramiro (and Ana Laura).

Ah, I must have missed the meaning behind the whole pill scene. Trying to fake a suicide makes sense and Ana Le gave her much stronger ones. So maybe indeed, having realized that, Gina disappears and asks grandfather for help and is biding her time waiting to make a return.

So for breaking news to Ramiro, Vivi, it was indeed his dead - but I wonder how would he know for sure? Someone had to have told him... And maybe someone not quite credible?

Ugh, pardon all the typos - artifact of typing on the phone :) That was meant to be "dad" above, not "dead"!

Ria thanks for another great recap, your descriptions of Ramiro actually may be making me like him more
___
I'm loving the romantic comedy vibe between Inaki and Bad Seed. Even though she's evil they are so funny together, and Pedro Moreno is a hoot.

__
I've got to disagree with the majority here about Maribel - I don't think she's a backstabbing frenemy. In fact, I was just thinking that Analu doesn't seem like a very good friend to her, she's been spending more time w/Orlando and been paying more attention to his feelings than to Maribel. I think Maribel only went after the job b/c Analu said she didn't want it, and I can't blame her for trying to further her career and she does support Analu being w/Santiago which makes her the only person who does, so far. Maybe in the future you all will be proved right, but right now I still like Maribel

Ria, thanks for your recap. It was fun to read.

Sneaky Two Shoes, thanks for yesterdays recap. It was much appreciated.

Forgive me the typos, I omly have a phone to type on.

I am enjoying the story so far. Boyer is doing an excellent job. She has us feeling annoyed with one character and thinking another is a sociopath. So far, so good for Angelique.

Anyone notice that DZ has been prancing around in his undies. Are they trying to make us NOTICE him? I think he's ok, but he's not my favorite, besides I think he plays a great villain. As a galan, he is so, so.

Thanks again Ria

Sneaky2shoes- I was annoyed with Maribel but didn't see her as a frienemy/backstabber until she started badmouthing AnaLu and her work ethic to Anibal and calling her a slut to Orlando. That's no friend. Doesn't matter how she's feeling, or even if AnaLu turned down the job (she didn't- she asked for time to consider), you don't say stuff like that about your friend, who never did you harm.

Vivi - fair enough, I see your point.
I'm confused when people say someone is their best friend and then don't act like it.
Why does that have to be a thing?
Also, I hate love triangles
