Sueño de amor #80 Wed. July 6, 2016

Here they are: just the facts . . . ;)

So, we will pick up at Ricardo's, with Cristina left breathless after the kiss. They talk about where the kids are and about her ex being in jail. She asks if anything happened to him Ricardo. He assures her that nothing happened. He suggests they call each other "tú" after all they have been through. She isn't too sure about that and prefers "usted" so he does not forget she is his boss. He assures her he won't forget. (She is serious!!!) He just chuckles and walks away. As he turns she notices the blood at the nape of his neck. He had forgotten all about that. She makes him sit down and goes to get first aid items out of the medicine chest so she can treat Ricardo's neck wound. He just sits smiling waiting for her to come back.

At Margarita's, Kristel tells her family all about her wanting to get away from it all by goimg to study abroad in Barcelona if she gets a scholarship at one particular university she has applied to. Mario tries to dissuade her saying that you don't make a big decision like that so quickly. Her mother Silvana says she agrees with Mario but thinks if she leaves she won't be able to get rid of her (as in kill her). The you know what hits the fan when Kristel tells them she could be leaving next week if all goes as planned. She would like to be in her father's wedding though . . .

Pato and Luca meet to talk. He tells her that he loves her. She loves him too. He then thinks that everything is all right. Not so fast, Pato ends up giving Luca the old "sometimes love is not enough" talk. (she is such a 'nudge').

Without any transition for the other characters to leave (where did they go? is this show turning into "The Leftovers???), Mario is left in the living room with only Félix and Kristel. He asks Kristel how they are ever going to plan a wedding in a week? Can't be done. Of course she does not agree since it is going to be a civil ceremony it can be something simple with a small party. Mario tells her that that was not what they were planning. He insists that Viviana deserves something big . . . Félix shushes him as he is getting loud. Félix tells her there is just one little detail they have not told her: Félix is going to ask Margarita to marry him. So, Félix tells her it is going to be a double wedding. Of course, Silvana is on the prowl and hears "double wedding." Félix tells her to please keep it a secret because neither Viviana or Margarita know. She stays to hear more.

Back at the hospital Ernesto is ministering to Esperanza's needs. This time he is giving her water which she needs to drink. Esperanza remarks what a good job Dr. Medrano has done. Ernesto tells her Pato and Luca will always be together.

Luca and Pato are still at it. He has had so many things going on. He has tried to manage it all with his company and the baby but hasn't been able to manage it well at all. His mistake was assuming that she would understand what was going on with him., At first she is a bit sarcastic but soon says she was not understanding enough and apologizes. He excuses her saying she had so much pressure on her with what was happening with her mother. She reiterates that all she wants for himis to tell her everything that is going on. They both apologize for the hurtful things they said to each other. Then Luca brings up how jealous of Erasmo he is. She suspected that. Well, that is how he feels. She laughs. She thought he was a little jealous but never that much. Yes, he is very jealous of Erasmo.

Erasmo is praying to the Virgen de la Paz wondering why he fell in love with the wrong girl (Pato and ended up losing her before he even had her.)

Silvana is now on the wedding discussion with Mario, Félix and Kristel all seated in Margarita's living room (nobody else has "tele-ported" in or out). Silvana wants to know why the wedding need to be so soon. It is because Kristel wants to be at the wedding. Félix brings up that they have to buy wedding rings. Mario says there is a sale tonight. The two guys are off to take advantage of the discounts. Kristel tells them to get the prettiest rings. Silvana mutters: double wedding, double obstacle. When asked what she said, she tells Kristel they are in such a predicament now with her going away.

Margarita is chatting with Salma. She tries to get some emotional reaction from Salma about seeing the sonogram of her baby. There is not the reaction she was expecting but then Salma turns that around when she wonders what the baby would think of her giving it up for adoption. When she/he finds out, will she/he think she merely left her/him, abandoned her/him and then feel bad? (looks like this is going to be a case of a baby raising a baby) Margarita tells her to think it over carefully so she does not have any regrets.

Cristina is ministering to Ricardo's neck wounds. After some snappy smart comments back and forth (like why didn't he go to the hospital to get checked out. He wanted to get back to his place ASAP.), Cristina notices the rope burn on Ricardo's wrist. That is how it comes out that Ricardo was hung and tortured by electric shock. Cristina starts crying and asking if he is okay. He sure is and "filled with energy"! (complete with a BOING!! sound effect so we don't miss the joke) Ricardo keeps going maybe he is "lit up", "sparkly". The "electricity" jokes end when Abril pops in to get some attention and comfort from her mother. She thanks Ricardo for getting her and her mother back together. They hug.

Esperanza is asleep. Ernesto tells her he loves her so very much. Next, Pato is there telling her how much she loves her.

At the jewelry store, Mario and Félix are buying rings for Viviana and Margarita. They cannot believe the high prices. 15,000 for one ring. That could pay for the whole wedding! Mario feels he has to get just the absolute best for a woman like Viviana. They have to make up their minds quickly because they have to propose in just a few days. Then they need to come up with some sort of creative/original way to do that. Mario needs Viviana to just say yes!

Back at Margarita's, Margarita wonders where Mario and Félix went. Silvana almost spills the beans, but Kristel shuts her up and tries To get Margarita off the path with a story about them going for chicken; tacos; no, chicken for supper. Margarita is sure they are hiding something from her. Where would they be buying chicken at this time? Silvana assures her there are chicken places are open 24 hrs. Where else would they be at this time?

Back at the jewelers, Mario and Félix are still having a hard time with the price and eventhough they are buying two rings they are only getting a 10% discount total. No two for one deals. Félix has heard that people believe that the size of the diamond is commensurate with the amount of love you have for a person. If that is the case, Mario knows that Viviana is going to think he does not love her in the least. Félix and Mario agree that they love their women. Félix tells Mario that the most important thing is the intention so they will look at less expensive rings and pick out the prettiest ones. Mario agrees.

At Ricardo's, Ricardo and Cristina put Abril to bed with Selena. They smile at each other as they leave the room and Ricardo turns out the light.

Pato is sleeping in Esperanza's hospital room thinking about how surprised she was hearing that Luca was jealous. In the middle of the night, Esperanza wakes up and asks where Pedro is. Esperanza was having a bad dream. Then Esperanza asks Pato about her and Luca. Pato explains they are in the process of forgiving each other. They still don't know each other that well but things are getting better between them.

Mario and Félix try to sneak back into the house with their ring purchases but Margarita is waiting in the dark for them, catches them coming in and wants to know what merchandise they are discussing. She gets up and approaches them with a backscratcher in her hand. She starts tickling them With the backscratcher as they try to maintain their back to back stance so they can hide the bags with the rings. Kristel comes out and tells Margarita to stop so she doesn't tickle them to death. Margarita tells her she is tickling them because they lied to her. Mario and Félix start slipping away as Margarita talks to Kristel and tickles her for being a part of the lie. Margarita heard the word "merchandise" and does not want them involved in any selling of pirated goods. They will end up in jail.

Back to Ricardo and Cristina. Cristina is sorry for all that Ricardo suffered today. He is just happy that that jerk Óscar ended up in jail. At the end he was apologizing and even crying. She hopes he pays for everything he did to her daughter. She cannot remember when she fell in love with him. Ricardo tells her that people change. Yes, his ex-wife was an example of that. She starts to reference the earlier kiss. He makes it easy on her saying it was something beautiful and says good night and leaves. She repeats what he said about it being something beautiful and smiles.

Margarita is fighting with with Félix in bed. She knows he is hiding something from her and she hates lies. If there were nothing wrong, they would not be acting so suspiciously. She thinks they are selling stolen merchandise. Also, don't call her "Maggy" when she is angry. Margarita decides that Félix is sleeping without his nosy stuffed animal, pillow and comforter. He can sleep with his nose which is going to get longer and longer for him being a liar. She tells him to get out of the bed.

Mario is on his bed planning the proposal as an "event" when Viviana calls. She is put off by his tone. Mario does not seem himself. He seems a bit serious to her. He suggests they talk tomorrow night. Viviana now thinks he is going to break up with her.

The next day, at the hospital Pato gets a call from Ara asking where she is. Pato pretends to be ill. Ara mentions that Pedro has not been around either. Ara reminds her that if she does not show up for her physics test she will fail the class.

Pato does go to school. She and Ara see Ricardo and Cristina arrive with the kids looking like one big happy family. She is left with her mouth hanging open when Ricardo and Cristina kiss on the cheek. She cannot believe it.

At Anastasia's apartment, Tracy is playing with her burner cellphone and calls Ernesto: she tells him in a disguised voice that she knows he ordered Tracy Kidman to be killed and that he will be paying dearly for that. She tells Anastasia that Ernesto is going to pay for what he did to her. Ernesto is upset as he asks who is calling. She hangs up. Ernesto calls Murillo and tells him to come over ASAP. (you can see the wheels turning in Ernesto's head) Tracy then decides she is going out. Anastasia reminds her she is a fugitive. Tracy has to get away from her and the baby. Anastasia dreams about her, Luca and the baby being inseparable after the rigged DNA results come in.

Having seen the kiss, Pato is angry. Ara does not get it since it was Esperanza who called off the wedding. In her anger, Pato lets it drop that Ricardo is out there involved with somebody new while her mother is laid up . . . Ara catches on to the "laid up" part and asks Pato about it. Pato cannot say any more. It is test time.

Viviana is voicing her fear about Mario to Luca. It is not what he said it was now he said it. She is worried he is all confused since Silvana has come back. Luca tells his mother that the day after tomorrow they will know if the baby is his or his father's.

Ernesto is thinking about the phone call. Murillo arrives and Ernesto grabs him by the neck, throws him down and starts to choke him telling him about the phone call someone made saying he ordered someone to kill Tracy Kidman. He wants to know who else knew about his plan.

Back at school, Cristina brings Abril to join Ricardo's class where Selena greets her and the whole class welcomes her with a round of applause.

Still at school, Ara is giving Pato the third degree about Esperanza. Pato tells her she cannot say anything.Nothing can get back to Ricardo. Pato says her mother is ill and explains the plan to keep Ricardo from suffering. Ara ends up asking why she did not tell her anything about what was going on since they are such best friends. (Funny how Ara turned this into all about her)

Pedro is now visiting Esperanza at the hospital. They talk about Ernesto. Forgiving Ernesto is not hard. What is hard is knowing how much he loves her and her not feeling the same way about him. In spite of all that, Ernesto has been a big help in many ways and she misses him wandering around the hospital room.

Well, Ernesto cannot be wandering around at the hospital because he is still choking Murillo and wants to know what happened to Tracy. According to lying Murillo, she "committed suicide" just as Ernesto ordered and is dead. So why is Ernesto getting a call like he did? He lets Murillo up before killing him. He then apologizes to Murillo saying he knows that Murillo was not responsible for anything. It is just that he was so upset by the phone call. He offers Murillo a drink. Everything is going to be just fine now.

Pato is still talking to Ara. Her mother just wants Ricardo to be happy and not to have to cope her illness. She tells Ara about her mother maybe only having six months to live. Ara says she could have helped if she had known blah blah blah. Pato tells Ara Ricardo is never to know about Esperanza's illness and exactly who does know. Ara brings news about Kristel wanting to go to Barcelona. Ara suspects it is because Pedro broke up with her. Pato knows Pedro doesn't know anything about Kristel going to Barcelona. Ara then supposes that if Esperanza wants Ricardo to be happy she will be happy with the fact that he and Cristina are getting together. Not really answers Pato. Esperanza stil loves him a great deal and the Ricardo/Cristina thing is going to fall on her like a bomb.

At Cristina's office, Cristina is explaining to the Gallo's Estrella and Kiko how she is going to give them a test on the spot which will determine if they get the scholarships to move across the street to the Instituto Palacios or not. Margarita has brought them over.

At the hospital, Esperanza is explaining to Ernesto about Pato and her physics test. She notices he is a bit distracted. He is just thinking about a person who betrayed him. That's all. He starts to talk about Pato again.

The Gallo kids finish the test. Cristina will grade them herself and get back to them. Cristina tells Margarita all about Ricardo helping her get Abril back. Ricardo comes in and adds that her ex is now in jail. Margarita is overjoyed for them. After Margarita leaves, Ricardo tells Cristina that he has a proposal for that evening if she accepts . . .

Ernesto compares newspapers. He realizes the newspaper Murillo brought him was a fake. Murillo did not kill Tracy. Tracy is alive.

Nandicta, I would like to wish you a happy Eid al-Fitr. Best wishes to you!

After last night's tortuous torture episode, this one was carefree in comparison.

Murillo deserves what he is getting. I wonder how Ernesto is going to do him in.

How will Ernesto do Tracy in?

My favorite scene was Margarita tickling people with her back scratcher. Guess that could be called torture in a way . . .

Thank you for the Eid wishes, darling! That is very thoughtful of you! I was on no sleep since the night before last and I don't know how I missed that your recap was already posted yesterday late afternoon.

This was a very entertaining read filled with astute observations and hilarious asides! I could picture you rolling your eyes at the sheer stoopidity and trying to put it all into something eloquent, witty and coherent. Many thanks, indeed!

While reading the recap, I made mental notes of several points I would like to highlight, but I'm pressed for time right now, so here goes a first batch of quick remarks:

Just as expected, Margarita is starting to pressure Salma is raising the kid she didn't want to have and who she conceived by raping a drunk teenage boy, her soon-to-be stepbrother! Like you said, it's going to be a case of a baby raising a baby.

Pato and Luca's back-and-forth will-they-won't-they break up is getting beyond tedious. Stop wasting my time with your whining!

I'd really like to know where Kristel managed to find a scholarship, a highschool to finish her senior year AND a university willing to take her in all tuition and life expenses paid in less than two weeks! That's just magic!

Why put us through the utter lameness of Kracy's fake murder if she's gonna only be gone 2 episodes?

Why does Cristina insist on addressing Ricardo as "usted"? She's been sleeping in the guy's bed and in his PJs (why didn't she pick up her own jammies when she and Ric went to her place to pack a suitcase?). She (platonically) slept in his arms. She tried his huevos rancheros. She stuck her tongue down his throat. What formality is this stuck-up lady talking about?

Erasmo, there are no words. You broke my heart. I had such high hopes for you at the beginning. Now I don't even get the consolation of the occasional naked torso or construction site birdbath.

I propose Baxter and Dr. Medrano as our new galanes! The rest of the adult male characters can just pish aff to Barcelona or Tabasco or Argentina or anywhere else they want. Except Félix. Yeah, Félix sans Margarita can totally stay.

That's it for now. More later. Gracias otra vez, Jarifa! :)

Nandicta, you did not miss a thing. I had just started the recap and mistakenly posted it, then pulled it.

" . . . her soon-to-be stepbrother!" Indeed! Everyone knows my opinion on that storyline by now.

You also sure called it with Cristina: stuck up to the nth degree. I was actually surprised by the little peck in PUBLIC outside the school.

Well, maybe Ernesto will get rid of one of the thorns in his side tonight. I have high hopes.

Well... I am speechless, so I will start thanking the recapper for her outstanding job.

So Esperanza couldn't sleep and needed her nightly dose of gossiptherapy! Since I am awake now, why don't you tell me all about you and Luca? And don't spare the details!!

If ''sometimes love is not enough'' then what is? This is what people who don't have enough love use as excuse, Oh, Pato, why aren't you a normal girl?

If ''the rock must equal the size of the love'' why most diamonds come in the same size?

In this hospital room nobody lies, except when you have to fake a flu to excuse yourself for not attending school.

Let's cross this patio from one side to the other but wait, kiss me precisely here so Pato can see us and then we will keep on walking, ok? That way she will have a nice flashback (gossip) to tell her mother.

On a side note, I just found out how Ricardo became a FBI agent. They hire ANYBODY!! Or at least this what they imply. During the tn, Univisión had a panel of ''experts'' giving advise on how to enroll in Houston's FBI AND THE ONLY THING YOU NEED IS NO CRIMINAL BACKGROUND!!! That's what they said! Then what is actually happening at Quantico, I would like to know?

Jarifa, although I missed almost all of this, your excellent recap detailed anything and everything I need to know.

"Without any transition for the other characters to leave (where did they go? is this show turning into "The Leftovers???)", " Without any transition for the other characters to leave (where did they go? is this show turning into "The Leftovers???)" and "(nobody else has "tele-ported" in or out" had me grinning ear to ear.

"Erasmo is praying to the Virgen de la Paz wondering why he fell in love with the wrong girl (Pato and ended up losing her before he even had her". It's sad that an initially strong and quite appealing character has been transformed into an immature character wasting his dreams and efforts on unattainable (and frankly unworthy) women.

Ernesto's flip flopping between good and evil is interesting to watch...I thought he was going to strangle Murillo right then and there. I am not quite sure he will manage to eradicate Tracy. She is insane after all and very cagey and crafty.

I agree with you and Nandicta that Margarita is going to try and get Salma to keep her child. I think that is enormous pressure to put on a child, especially one so emotionally immature and frankly, rather self centered.

I'm peeved Ricardo and Cris are sailing along while Esperanza slides in and out of life and death. I think the only logical ending is that she ends up with the handsome doctor. What do you all think?

Pablo, I enjoyed your comments including "On a side note, I just found out how Ricardo became a FBI agent. They hire ANYBODY!!" Too funny.

Jarifa, thank you, thank you!

Diana

Pablo, great observation on FBI requirements for agents. That was a good laugh this a.m.

Yes, Diana, that was a rather odd transition between scenes. Everyone was there in the living room, then 2 scenes later only 3 remain with a skulking Silvana. The thing that made it so weird is that Kristel had just made her announcement and then Mario had to think about pushing up his wedding and the conversation logically continued in the next living room scene and didn't miss a beat but the others were gone. I actually had to rewind and take another look. I agree that the doctor would be just fine for Esperanza. :)

If nothing else, this story has given us a lot to laugh and wonder about.

So...the ONLY requirement for FBI agents is that they not have a criminal record? How in the hades did Ricardo get hired? What about that whole debacle with the shooting in the desert? Did Kracy's dad make that go away so thoroughly that even the FBI was like "What dead guy? What prison? What illegal immigration for not even any good reason when you were doing just fine in Mexico? Sure, you seem like great agent material!"

So boring stuck-up Cristina is finally reunited with her daughter after so many months of doing nothing but getting dressed and made up to cry in her bedroom, and she's spending all this time hanging around stupid Ricardo? But keeping it formal while sleeping in his bed in his clothes? What a weirdo. Although it kind of makes sense. She should be straight with him: "Look, Ricardo, you're only Sex Idiot material, not relationship material." I wonder if he watched 30 Rock.

Thanks for the "just the facts" recap, Jarifa! The facts are that pretty much all the once-promising characters have been ruined, but what can you do? You report it all so well!

I can't believe that anyone would give vapid useless Kristel a scholarship, but ni modo, hasta nunca, baby! No need to write; please don't call. Buh-bye. Can we give you a ride to the airport? Right now? You want to be sure not to miss that flight.

I also can't believe Viv and Mario would throw their wedding plans into a whirlwind to accommodate her whims.

Julia, I still would love to know what Ricardo did for every one if those 20 years he was MIA. He still has not accounted for them. If he does not by the end, I may be tempted to fill in the blanks.

We soldier on . . .

Well, he probably spent some time working his way up in the world. Maybe a couple months working in the fields, sitting around eating strawberries and then carrying baskets other people picked over to the scales to get the credit. Then perhaps a retail job in a clothing store, where he hung around looking pretty while his coworkers schlepped around stocking the racks and folding shirts and bringing the customers 20 things to try on. Then as soon as they disappeared into the back to fetch something, he'd swoop in and ring up the sale. Then maybe a stint waiting tables, where he was conveniently always busy flirting with women and needed his busboy to always take the orders and carry the plates while he was super occupied with an "important emergency" at another table, but he was always available to charm all the customers and collect the tips. Then he joined the military, where he went to Afghanistan and hung out in camp making huevos rancheros, but soaked up all the details of the adventure stories so he could tell them like he was there. But he saw all kinds of action and saved the day many times: bandaged his own finger like the hero he is when he cut it chopping tomatoes, chivalrously rescued women soldiers from harassment by other colleagues by claiming them as his own and harassing them himself, but he meant well so that means it's totes okay, barging into hostile situations recklessly and endangering his fellow soldiers, making a complete bungle of the operations, but escaping with his life intact and telling the story like he saved the day.

Thanks, Julia! You finished what they had not the interest to do. Very funny and it fits our "lacking" galán.

Ricardo would totally be That Guy in school who doesn't help at all with the group project, but when the group is up presenting it, keeps talking over you and discussing it like he was running the whole thing.

Good call.

Nandicta you did a really good job with this funny recap. why is Pato angry because she saw Christine and Ricardo together she went along with the lie too and the man is moving on because that's what she told him to do even though she didn't mean it and he didn't know that. she said it's going to be like a bomb to her mother to hear that he's with someone else, well she dropped the bomb on him on their wedding day, of all days on the wedding day. So I figure it's a bomb for a bomb.

Erny finaly got a clue. Now he's going to have to hire a hitman to kill his number one hit man. Mury you better run because you're a dead man, and he won't be around to tamper with the DNA if he's going to be dead. Maybe. this show is getting seriously funny serious.

Nina, so true about Esperanza being the "first" bomber so it was a "bomb for a bomb."

Hi, the latest recap is up. Enjoy!
