Sueño de amor #89 Wednesday 7/20/16
Anyway, we left off with a tearful Pato praying to God and begging her dead angel of a grandmother to intercede on her mother's behalf.
Luca and Ricardo arrive at Esperanza's house to take Pato and Esperanza out to dinner. Pato tries to give them a heads up about her mother's decision to shave her head, but Esperanza comes out before she can so they can see with their own eyes. Ernesto tells her how beautiful she looks. She scoffs at that but he tells her it is the absolute truth. Even Luca tells here how good she looks. Esperanza laughingly says she will accept that because he is her daughter's love and she will accept Ernesto's compliment because he says he loves her. After all of the compliments, Esperanza decides it is time to go. They are all smiling.
Back at the hotel, Cristina and Ricardo are planning on spending another night together in Cuernavaca. Ricardo is pouring champagne as he asks the Dr.(of pedagogy Cristina) if she is hungry. Yes, she is. He offers her fruit and champagne. There are strawberries and grapes. What does she want? She chooses the grapes which of course he feeds to her. That does not last long before they are kissing and sharing the same grapes.
At the Gallo house. Estrella, Adrián and Kiko are playing Jenga(?) Adrián is wondering when he will get the results of his placement test. Erasmo is busy reading and studying. They try to get Erasmo's attention. They bring up the subject of Pato. Erasmo tells them that Pato and Luca are together as happy as they always were. Kiko wants to know why he is so down in the dumps then. Estrella says it is because he has struck out twice: Kristel and Pato. He tells Estrella he isn't really sad; he is just in a pensive mood thinking about life and love.
At Anastasia's, she and Tracy are discussing love. Tracy thinks that love is a delusion. Anastasia does not agree because she had some really happy times with Luca. Tracy teases her saying "yeah, so happy that you went to bed with Ernesto." Anastasia admits that at first she was attracted by Luca's social status but then she found out what a great guy he really was: noble, generous, sincere. Tracy accuses her of doing the same thing she told her her mother did: get into her employer's bed to gain some social status and not be the maid anymore. Anastasia says nothing but it is clear she does not want to hear anymore and leaves.
At the Gallo house, Erasmo is off to get some air and go "wherever destiny takes him."
Tracy gets a call from her pal Dionisio (so appropriate as she is sucking down her wine). She looks happy.
At Viviana and Mario's, suddenly Salma has the belly the size of a soccer ball under her shirt. (When did it get so big? Overnight?) She is talking to her baby and caressing her belly. Viviana comes in with Luquita and encourages Salma to hold him. It turns out that Salma is still confused about what she wants to do with her baby. Viviana tells her she has to think about TWO futures: her own and her baby's.
Luca, Pato, Esperanza and Ernesto arrive at the restaurant. As Esperanza and Ernesto take their seats, Pato tells Luca how her mother sees shaving her head as a new start. Luca is sure she is going to win her battle. Ernesto tells Esperanza how very proud he is of her. He promises to be with her through everything. She thanks him. Luca says she looks like a model. Esperanza sort of ruins the moment by making it clear she is not in favor of him Luca marrying Pato. Ernesto suggests they change to topic to something more pleasant like Esperanza's school.
Erasmo is wandering the streets at night, deep in thought and a series of flashbacks, when he turns a corner just as Anastasia, also lost in thought and flashbacks, is coming around the same corner. They collide. The force of the collision with Erasmo's shoulder knocks Anastasia back into a wall and then down on the ground. Erasmo is right there to get her assistance and calls for someone to call an ambulance. Anastasia just stares back at him with a bloodied nose and face.
Back at the hotel, Cristina and Ricardo are in bed and way way past any thoughts of strawberries and grapes. She loves him!
At Napoleón's, Napoleón needs to talk to Silvana "Mrs. Ex-Principal" who is watching her telenovela and does not want to be disturbed because it is her favorite. She'd also like a higher quality of cheese if possible. He needs her to DO something. If she is not cooperative she will have to leave. Clearly Silvana is put off by that idea by the pouty look on her face.
Dinner with Mario and Viviana : A variety of melon and LaLa strawberry yogurt with chia seeds and kisses in all those flavors. They are super duper snappy happy!!!
Dinner is over and Esperanza and Pato come home. They are talking about Pato getting her grade point average up. Pedro has the shock of seeing his mother with her shaven head for the first time. She explains it all to him. Before the chemo took her hair she was going to play being a "stylist." Pedro asks if she is planning on wearing a wig. Her answer is no. Pedro then asks what will Ricardo think. Esperanza just looks sad.
Anastasia and Erasmo have arrived at the hospital where Anastasia has been getting care for her face/head wounds.
The doctor tells them that she has no skull fractures but he will have to notify the police anyway. Erasmo asks why. The doctor assumes that Erasmo beat up Anastasia.
It is a new day and Ricardo and Cristina wake up in each others' arms.
Esperanza has an unexpected visitor this morning. In order to prove his solidarity with her, Ernesto has also shaved his head. Esperanza cannot believe that he did it for her. Pato tells him he looks really good and that both of them look beautiful. Ernesto tells Esperanza, as he reminds her he has told her a million times, he would give his life for her. It really means a lot to Esperanza and everything he has done for her has shown her that he is a man capable of love. Ernesto looks so proud as he hears Esperanza's praise. Will she forgive him? Of course she will. (she is all smiles but no kisses.)
Ricardo and Cristina have moved out of bed for more lovey dovey time in the shower.
Back at the hospital Anastasia and Erasmo try to explain how they are two strangers that literally bumped into each other and that theirs is not a case of domestic abuse. The doctor is not buying it and tells them they cannot leave until they make a report/explain it all to a representative from the police department. He will not sign her discharge papers. Anyway she needs to rest. So they wait. Erasmo says he told his siblings he was going to let destiny take him wherever and look where it took him. Anastasia sort of smiles.
At Tracy's someone is at the door. It is Dionisio who has come with some wine and to pass some time with her.
Back at Esperanza's, Ernesto is informing them that he has used all of his connections (moved heaven and earth even) to get Esperanza, the woman he loves, into a clinic dealing in a new kind of "viral" therapy. They are only waiting on the paper work. Esperanza thanks him and Pedro for having researched it in the first place. First she has to finish her chemo which will be a long haul. Unfortunately, Esperanza gets a phone call about Raquel that ruins her good news.
The next morning, the Alegría kids and Abril are enjoying the pool while Cristina is sitting on Ricardo's lap smooching and sweet talking away on a lounge chair. They changed each others' lives! (Someone needs to yell "get a room!" or "go back to your room!".)
Erasmo and Anastasia are still stuck at the hospital waiting for a representative from the police department to come interview them. Erasmo calls Estrella and Kiko to tell them where he is and why he is there. They think he was out partying and passed out somewhere. They do not believe him. After they hang up, Kiko wonders if he might be telling the truth. Anastasia laughingly asks him how many "carnales" (siblings) he has as she is inspecting her bruised face in her mirror. He explains he has two: Kiko (13) and Estrella (14). Now they know all about each other. He knows she wanted to break up Pato and Luca. Yes, that is her and yes she did want to break them up.
Still at Anastasia's with Dionisio, Tracy brings two wine glasses out of the bedroom, sighs and says one has to do what one has to do. Dionisio comes out of the bedroom, Tracy brings out another bottle of wine to "hydrate" themselves. He is having a spectacular time with her and asks if she remembers the nights they spent together on the Costa de Marfil. She sure does. Would he like to experience that again? Absolutely. Then, what is he willing to do for her? He answers with a kiss.
Back at the pool Ricardo and Cristina are putting more sunscreen on the kids. They will be leaving later to go home. It turns out Abril is feeling sick so Ricardo goes to get the hotel doctor.
Esperanza is at the hospital With Ernesto, Pedro and Pato where it turns out her chemo pal Raquel has taken a turn for the worse and is dying. She does not want to die alone. She knows it is her time. She asks Esperanza to find her son and to tell him she died loving him without any hard feelings. Esperanza agrees to do that for her. She tells Esperanza she has to fight and live for herself and her children. She tells Pato and Pedro to take care of their mother. She dies and Esperanza closes her eyes.
Napoleón is telling Silvana how things are if she wants to continue living at his place: she needs to do chores (like learning how to mop the floors) and help with the expenses: in other words get a job. She moans that nobody will hie her with her record. No worries, he will use his influence at the Instituto Palacios to get her a job. He is going to talk to his friend. He has a double shift and wants the place cleaned by the time he gets back. Silvana is left holding the mop.
At the other hospital, Anastasia and Erasmo are still waiting so they exchange tales of their latest romances:
Anastasia with Erasmo, Ernesto, the video, the photos, the baby. She did everything she could to break up Luca and Pato and now they are getting married. Erasmo fell in love with Pato.
Suddenly Abril is back from Cuernavaca at home in her own bed and the pharmacy has delivered her prescriptions. She gets drops for her fever from Cristina and Ricardo gives her an antbiotic. Abril remembers that her father's employee Gervasia gave her a shot the last time she was sick. Ricardo tells her she has nothing to worry about because Gervasia is in jail. Abril loves the Alegría's a lot.
Esperanza and her crew have arrived back home. She goes off to her room just to rest and pray a little. Pedro says to Luca that Raquel's death was painful because they saw what could happen to their mother.
Erasmo and Anastasia are still going over their sad sad tales Of romance. Anastasia has thought about her life long and hard and does not want to do anything to Patricia anymore. Erasmo tells her that having a child is more than enough. She admits he is totally right about that. It was an absurd goal to try to separate Pato and Luca because they are inseparable. Erasmo admits he was going to take advantage of the fallout from that situation. His plan to win Pato was not a good one either because Luca is a friend and has done a lot to help him. Finally, the representative from the police department arrives.
Margarita is having her own type of crisis on the home front. Félix is starting to treat home like the workplace. He has declared that since they are now married there are certain rules and procedures to be followed and even has a boatswain's whistle to get her attention as he lists his complaints and demands. He is really into cleanliness, order, good manners. She says she is at home so she can do what she wants. He agrees that freedom is okay but debauchery never. It seems that Margarita has gotten a reprimand for eating in bed. The second reprimand is for sitting on the bed with her slippers on. From now on there is to be only one hour of tv watching at night because it is not good for her eyesight or rest. He tells her this is all because he loves her. He turns off the tv and leaves with her bowl of popcorn. She is left with her mouth hanging open and wondering why nobody told her that marriage was like this.
At Mario's house, he is serving a Japanese meal with certain ingredients that are aphrodisiacs. Adrián and Salma start to laugh and don't know where to look with that comment but they do offer to leave. No, Viviana tells them to stay. Mario still feels like they are on their honeymoon. Next, Mario comes in with the best of all: a chocolate cake he labored over for two hours for dessert. Of course, he manages to fall face first into it.
Ricardo is finally at home resting when Cristina calls all upset that Abril is burning up from her fever and she needs his help. (Would not the appropriate action be to take her temp and call the doctor?)
At Esperanza's she is getting her uniform ready for tomorrow. Pedro and Pato want to to know if she is planning on going to school because if she is, Ricardo is going to notice something different about her and become aware of her illness. Esperanza explains that Ricardo has found a new love, he is going to be happy which was her objective in the first place. Anyway, she works at the Instituto Palacios and is a teacher.Pedro asks if she is going to tell Ricardo the truth. She says she is going to. The time has come to face reality, go to school, let Ricardo see her as she is.

I guess I have been waiting and I will be the first!
Woof! That sex marathon lasted from the time Esperanza took a shower well into the next day, uh? I will have what they're having!! And make it a double!
So Ernesto shaved his head too, and Pedro when?
Yeah! Lala now with seeds!!
That encounter between Nefastasia and Pleonasmo felt so fake I had to laugh when they bumped and she went "straight" into the lightpole and then her heel snapped making her fall down the sidewalk. But what i can not believe is that they "had" to spend all night there waiting for the police to make a report. Yeah right! La tercera es la vencida (third time is a charm), I just hope Ernesto don't kill her and leave the new galán alone again, naturally!
what no good scheme Tracy is going to use Dionisio for.
if Erasmo and Anastasia will end up together.
how Margarita will pay back Félix.
if Mario will bake another chocolate cake.
That is all for now!
I somehow missed out on commenting yesterday, although I knew what was coming, but I take advantage to do it now more completely, because the two shows work better together than apart.
Let me start by saying that I agree with all of your frustration and shock at what they made Betty do for the sake of an awful awful telenovela (I believe we're way past mediocre ever since grand CVV first appeared). How she agreed to shave off her gorgeous hair for this mess ... I don't know. I hope they paid her for it, and I hope everyone at Televisa realizes the sacrifice she's made and gives her a worthy part in the future.
When Espe was crying for her hair, I was crying with her (and all of you), but I'm sure those were Betty's real tears. I'm also pretty sure that Espe will survive, because after losing her hair, it would be just inhuman to have her killed off.(right, Osorio???)
And then, because they wanted to give the scene even more impact (none was needed, as everyone who's still watching this mess was probably already floored), they treat it with the uttermost disrespect I have ever seen, by including those two lame-o, nausea inducing horndogs, frolicking just steps away from their sleeping kids.
Nina, I completely agree with your comment from yesterday, also. Why is Ernesto being written like this? A killer who does the most selfless, love worthy, amazing gesture for the woman that he loves, but we can't root for him because he doesn't care about hurting kids or paying hired assassins to eliminate his enemies. Well, you know what? Between Ricardo's God awful personality and Ernesto's twisted character, I choose Ernesto, the killer, a million times. Cris de la Fuente must really be sorry for agreeing to this part (as everyone else, I believe), he's the kind of actor who needs a good script and good direction to shine - here he has neither. His chemistry with Espe was ok, but maybe that was all on Betty, because with Marjorie, it is plain awful.
It's true that I'm still having a hard time blaming Ric for going after another woman after he's been so brutally dumped for his enemy, but he talks as if Espe never existed or their break-up happened 20 years ago. Bad, bad writing!! This would have worked so much better had they left at least a year pass and had they not made CVV such a portrait of virtue and hotness.
On the plus side, I noticed that I'm rather looking forward to watching the next batch of episodes. Normally watching this show is like pulling teeth for me, but now I'm even a little advanced on my viewing, because things are moving in interesting directions. So, there is that...
"She is left with her mouth hanging open and wondering why nobody told her that marriage was like this" and "Ernesto tells Esperanza, as he reminds her he has told her a million times, he would give his life for her" were my favorite lines of many.
Every so often, there is a magical moment in a TN that stays with me. Last night was one of these. When Ernesto arrived in all his bald glory, I completely lost it. I was crying with Espe/Betty and that brilliant beautiful smile he gave her will stay in my mind and heart for some time. The group hug with the children made me cry even harder.
Julian Gil, you will never read this but I must say, you elevate your character to another stratosphere. I no longer care you are a murderer and complicit in deeds most foul. You are the galan - plain and simple.
From the tasteful to the distasteful. I won't even comment on the other couple as even the mere mention will taint my happy memory of last night.
Rest in peace Raquel...more tears at Espe's heartbreak for her newfound friend. And did you notice Ernesto's kind, beautiful smile? I wonder if Raquel's son will have a place in this ere the end...
"At the Gallo house, Erasmo is off to get some air and go "wherever destiny takes him." I was thinking how nice it would have been to have a teleconference last night so we could cackle and express our feelings on the new couple - Anastasia and Erasmo. I was thinking, does Osario hate the actor? I mean, Kristel and Pato were bad enough but is there a bigger loser than Anastasia?
I enjoyed Mario's face in the cake and Vivi brightens every scene she is in.
Interesting that both of her sons have (or will have) children. Neither with the woman they are currently involved with. It appears Adrian and Salma are at least cordial now although I have a sneaking suspicion their relationship will undergo changes in the future (speculation not spoiler).
Adriana Noel, Espe cannot die. She has been through far too much already. I agree that the storyline is picking up and am sad that I won't be able to watch but buoyed by the fact I have the recaps to look forward to.
Jarifa, you've done it again! Thank you so very much.
Diana
Diana, I, too, was moved by Ernesto in all if his "bald glory." Also, he sure looked cute. These actors are lucky that their heads are nicely formed and there are no bumps or lumps on their skulls. As for Ernesto, he is one of my favorites and I hope he doesn't do anything else too atrocious by the end of the novela. He is galán material. And it is too bad Julián Gil won't see this as you said. As for Anastasia, will she ever be able to redeem herself to be a worthy partner for Erasmo who isn't terrible but no saint either? Hmmmmmm. . .
Thanks for your kind comments!
Wow, you nailed it Jarifa. I hadn't thought of it that way, but you are so right! I'm peeved he is going to find happiness. Spiteful I know but he simply didn't mourn the loss of Espe enough...
I smiled at your spot on assessment that both Betty and Julien have unscathed skulls. Their new "luke" works well on both.
Diana
Julian Gil.............WOW!! Blown away by his new look, what a handsome man.
I have been posting that I never cared for Julian Gil. At all. And I've seen him in quite a few things but he always left me "cold".
Since watching this, I realized that was what he was supposed to do. I've always seen him as a villain so, what was I expecting (?)
But, I am amazed at what I'm seeing here. He has bewitched me. Totally. Using a susanlynn phrase - my "telenovio" - Eduardo Yanez, best be careful lest he be supplanted by this smiling, charismatic and frankly handsome man.
I'm even ready to forgive him for being a murderer for heaven's sake...
If this had been written properly, this could have had the potential to be a blockbuster story.
Diana
CVV and Tricky Ricky: Get lost!
Esperanza: Get well soon!
Ernesto: Get a clone! (And Fedex him my way!)
Kracy: Get a life! or better yet get off a cliff!
Erasmo: Get a grip! (His emotions are all over the place He falls in love with every skirt that crosses his path)
Anastasia: Get a clue!
Silvana: Get a job!
Félix: Get a hobby! (I suggest joining a sewing circle).
It looks as if Erasmo is working his way through the younger female cast members of this show who aren't related to him. Who's left? Aranza? Sasquatch Astrid? Salma? Eufrosina? Greta (Ernesto's housekeeper)?
As for Anastasia, her mother's death and motherhood don't make her rethink her ways but feeling a fleeting physical attraction towards Kracy does? What is Osorio trying to tell us?
I also chuckled these descriptions of the syrupy pairs of this episode:
"Cristina and Ricardo are in bed and way way past any thoughts of strawberries and grapes" and " Dinner with Mario and Viviana : A variety of melon and LaLa strawberry yogurt with chia seeds and kisses in all those flavors. They are super duper snappy happy!!!"
Thanks again, Jarifa!
Pablo, you're so right! That "chance" encounter of Anastasia and Erasmo and their forcible overnight stay at the hospital were so phony! Besides, Anastasia looked like she got run over by an armored baby quad-stroller! I know Erasmo has a muscly shoulder but come on!
"Lala now with seeds". Hahaha! Keep your eyes peeled for new yogurt offerings from Lala. "Lala with rosewater and thorns", "Lala with unpeeled prickly pears", "Lala with apple-cinnamon and spikes". Lala is committed to get those bowels moving! :D
Adriana, "we're way past mediocre ever since grand CVV first appeared" You hit the nail on the head!
"Between Ricardo's God awful personality and Ernesto's twisted character, I choose Ernesto, the killer, a million times." You said out loud what I shied away from admitting for several episodes. Loyalty wins in my book! It wins over good looks, charming smiles, rocking bodies, self-righteousness, super duper agent work, energizer bunny sex, you name it!
I read that it was Julián Gil's idea to shave his head in solidarity with Betty. And he asked that she be the one to shave him. Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5ay1bFw1nA. Julián says Betty has a good hand as barber. She remarks that he has moles on the side of his head and a little wart in the back (I saw it too yesterday. Julián has a small wart and a pink birth mark in the back of his head). They wonder whether they should ask the producer before shaving Ernesto's mustache. Then Betty sits down to read the messages (on her Facebook page or Twitter account I would assume) and thank her fans. She tells people where to donate their hair to make wigs for little girls that have cancer. She jokes that she'll set a little booth outside where she'll shave people's heads. I don't know how she can read messages while the make-up artist is poking her eyes with brushes and pencils! And man, are her eyes mesmerizingly beautiful! :D
"From the tasteful to the distasteful. I won't even comment on the other couple as even the mere mention will taint my happy memory of last night." I couldn't agree more!
Emeraldrose and Carvivlie, join the long queue of Julián's groupies! 'Tache or no 'tache, hair or nor hair, the man is hot hot hot!
If he (erny) didn't have blood his hands, and hes plannin on doing it again, I could get on board, hoping he'd change. when the truth comes out this is going to destroy espe and her daughter- his daughter, and really piss off pedro. And ricky's gonna want to kill him, it kracy don't beat him to it.
I have no idea what ocorio Is doing, maybe by the end of the show will know what he was trying to say, why he's got
his characters going crazy and all this stuff like this. but these actors are really good at what they do, they should get awards for having to deal with this crazy script. Ernesto is just so wonderful with cold blooded intentions. So very sorry for him. I'd like yo see this guy play a galan in a leading roll. Hes good at it.
1) He suspected Ernesto had Esperanza blackmailed/threatened and that should've been more of an incentive for him to keep an eye on Esperanza and her family, since he sensed she was in danger.
2) As Pato said when she found out about him and Cristina: "Wasn't he dying of love for Mapa just a little while ago?" So he pulls a disappearing act for two decades, comes back with the lamest explanation for having abandoned the "love of his life" all this time and finds the woman still available and crazy in love with him. She forgives him for everything, puts up with his crazy ex-wife, overlooks the fact that he put her and her children in grave danger with his incompetence at his job. Yet, after all of this, he gives up on her the minute they have a glitch in their relationship.
3) Her fainting, nausea, frailty are no concern to him, except to know whether she is pregnant. In another words, he is only interesed in how this affects him and his romance with Cristina. He seems to have completely forgotten about Esperanza's cancer scare, her old tumors, the stomach pains she experiences just a few days before their wedding.
Esperanza's decision not to tell Ricardo was born out of shock, panic and false pride. Having cared for my mom when she was very ill and accompanied her during her hospital stays and her recovery, I can tell you that patients can sometimes act like children with their caregivers. They go through phases where they feel depressed and don't want to talk with anyone. There are phases where they don't want their loved ones to "waste away their lives" taking care of them. Other times, they feel a sense of guilt towards their caregivers. It is all very hard to explain but beneath all these mixed feelings, my mom was always grateful when I sometimes went against her wishes and insisted on being there and on doing what I thought was best for her. Being with my mom wasn't a chore or an obligation, it was a necessity for me. I couldn't live with myself knowing I had the opportunity to accompany my mother through a tough times and opted not to do it. I'm glad I didn't always respect her instructions that were inspired by a sense of excessive pride. That's why I feel that deep down, Esperanza would've been grateful if her kids went against her instructions (like they did when they took Ernesto's money to pay for her hospital) and told Ricardo about her illness. Deep down, Esperanza must've felt a crippling fear that Ricardo would abandon her (as he did 20 years ago when the going got tough), so this whole self-sacrifice of hers felt like a noble thing and an opportunity to trick herself into thinking that Ric is good and loving man and that she was the one who let him go and not the other way around. It is a small consolation for her, if you will. In any case, Ricardo went ahead and proved that he is a fickle an unreliable man.
Sorry about my ramblings but Ricardo is very very poorly written as a male "hero".
I love Julian more than ever!
Vivi, I believe Julian has an older son (that he had when he was very young) - not sure if he has others as well.
Thanks again.
Diana
As for Ernesto being a cold blooded killer . . . If he gets caught for murder, I will feel like he is some sort of tragic hero just because of the love he has shown Esperanza.
Jarifa, I agree that Ernesto is a tragic hero and, with liking as much as I do, I'm just setting myself for heartache. I already have the box of tissues ready for the finale. And I already know I'll hate the finale! :D
Thinkin about there being something smellin bad with those reasons she gave him. But some men I've noticed are weak in some areas. Anybody else he would have investigated but this being close to his heart, He was doing more feeling than thinking. I've learned that men are wired differently than women. And also this is a tn, somethings are done just for effect.
Now, aside from all these interesting things we've discovered about each other, comment wise, the fact still remains that ocorio, the wonderful and Talented producer that he is has royally screwed up these characters being played by these really good Actors. And if we the public Patio Peeps that enjoy these tns weren't the intelligent people that we are we'd be biting at each other fighting over these characters but I really like the way that we comment about different things that we see from all sides. Stand up and give yourselves a standing ovation for being really good commenters.
Nandicta thanks for those insights and different view points. I took care of my mom for 16 years me and two brothers and sometimes she didn't want to be a bother but she was no bother to us. We're glad I was there to do it.
Well on to the next episode.
Vivi, Thanks for that photo. I spent the last 15 minutes stalking Julián Gil on Instagram. Ooops!
Nina, I agree a 100% with your latest. Men are indeed wired different than women and in a TN some things that are exaggerated or illogical or plain dumb are done "for effect", as you rightly pointed out. Still, Osorio, "the wonderful and Talented producer" (tee hee hee!) has dropped the ball and missed quite a lot of opportunities to save this show from being a complete and utter failure.
The upside of watching SdA is this patio and the great people in it. The commenters analyze the events and the characters with a lot more intelligence, insight and nuance than the writers have ever thought to give their work. As Pablo said yesterday, it is time for Osorio to retire because this much laziness is not acceptable when TNs and series are evolving into more sophisticated territory. I'm sorry for bringing Yago up again but we viewers and recappers of Yago can't stop praising the great writing, directing, producing and acting work that is being done on that series. Granted, the genre is different, but as a viewer, you can tell the great amount of work and dedication that has been done to bring that excellent finished product to your screen.
As for the disagreements over characters, they are very very mild in this patio. You should check out the SdA Facebook page (if you don't care about spoilers, of course). Commenters there are biting each other's heads off! Ufff! Granted most of them are teenagers but, man, the level of hostility is high!
I will always be in awe of the maturity, respect and kindness of the Caray Caray contributors. One example that stands out is Pasión y Poder. You and I commented often on the PyP Patio. That novela had characters that commenters felt very passionately about, either for or against, and there were some very vehement and passionate debates on that patio. I can't remember a novela (out of the dozen whose recaps I read) on Caray Caray that brought out such strong feelings and disagreements between commenters. Nevertheless, the discussions were always very courteous! That's what I love about Caray Caray. It is arguably the friendliest corner of cyberspace! :)
Last but certainly not least, thank you for sharing your experience as a caregiver for your mom. I was very touched by this: "sometimes she didn't want to be a bother but she was no bother to us. We're glad I was there to do it." May God and life bless you always for being such a good daughter! Sending much love and light your way! :)
