Sueño de amor, Ep. 77 (6.30.16) While Esperanza almost dies, Ricardo lures Cristina to his bedroom (el muerto al pozo y el vivo al gozo).
We start this episode with a visit to the precinct, where Ricardo Alegría Sandoval (ex ''secret'' agent turned teacher) and Cristina Vélez Valderrama (the firewoman of education/life guru to raped girls), are reporting to Gilberto Rentería de la Fuente (tired of seeing Ricardo's mug even in the soup), the assault she suffered in hands of her ex husband Oscar Sousa Villaurrutia (women abuser slash bastard kidnapper). Luckily for her, super duper agent and justice avenger Ricardo Alegría Sandoval was there to save her in the nick of time and now he is getting a call from Baxter Bestertester (who will probably lose his job for doing things he shouldn't be doing), who has seen Abril Sousa Vélez somewhere in Colonia del Valle.
Since the girl is alive and there's no time to lose, the couple that used to hate each other but are now reunited by the circumstances, take off to look for her, leaving the report for another time (that if the writers remember to tie this loose end, if not, they'll forget about it and will never be mentioned like happened to Instituto Vasconcelos. Have you heard from it lately?)
Baxter's pictures show the girl and then an old woman grabbing her. Could it be that Oscar has a nanny to take care of her?

Patricia Guerrero Diez (old cacatúa trapped in a tempting body) and Pedro Carmona Guerrero (whose ponytail is giving him strength to fight diabetes), promise to protect each other and hug being interrupted when the bell rings and it is Luca De la Colina Conde, who came to remind Pato his love for her. She has no brain for that right now because Esperanza Guerrero Diez is in the ICU holding like a warrior to her life from a thread, and the next 48 hours after the surgery are crucial. Could you come back in two days?
The young man, following his father's expert love advise, said, Well, don't forget that I love you. Every time you have a problem think that I love you and it'll get fixed. Every time you are in doubt, anytime, my love for you works for everything! Just think of my love for you!
In some undisclosed place, Oscar Sousa Villaurrutia screams with anger because he needs to know who is his ex wife actual lover. I am sure his men are better than Baxter, so, with the pictures they took. It won't take long.
In another undisclosed place, Nana Gervasia De Lourdes de la Concepción (who suffers from chronic flu), scolds Abril for trying to escape and as a punishment, the girl will go to bed without dinner and there won't be breakfast tomorrow either. Learn your lesson!
Gervasia is not a bad woman, she only does what she is been paid to do, and if this girls rus away, God know what Oscar will do to her in return. Maybe he could even kill her tickling her feet with feathers!
Once Cristardo (Cristina+Ricardo) are on the streets, he recommends classic police work: ask around.
This Gallos don't roam free
In the Gallos cage, Erasmo Gallo Blanco (Confundido and unable of controlling his heart) is still doubting between telling or not telling Pato about all the love he feels for her. His arguments are stupid, but where's the surprise? He has always made stupid choices. This is just another stripe to the tiger... He thinks he can not deal with this feeling. What to do when love arrives suddenly? How to manage it? How about some occupational therapy? Count how many bricks there are in a wall... or go bend and cut rebar by hand with a carving knife...
Once Pato and Pedro are alone again, naturally, she tells her brother that she is sure Erasmo loves her. She saw it in his eyes. Anyway, she loves Luca with all his faults and she will never leave him.
Anastasia Limantour García (who got trapped in México and could never return to ''Italy'') and Baby Luquita De la Colina Limantour (de la Colina in both cases) go visit Daddy Luca like they did one week ago. They are still arguing about the postponed on and off DNA test, when it could have been so easy for him to do it by himself when Anastasia disappear leaving the baby on his care...
It's dark, but nothing can stop a mother and an ex cop from asking about the little 6 year old girl in case they have seen her around. They show people on the streets the pictures taken minutes ago. Sadly, nobody seem to have seen anything, that, or they won't cooperate.
Then Cristina, who has not eaten anything during the whole day except for a slice of toast with a microthin layer of jam and black coffee early in the morning, faints and is lifted by Ricardo who happens to be right beside her. After putting her in the truck, takes her to his house with the truck's inside lights on so Oscar can make sure it's them when they arrive.
Echenle agua!
Meanwhile in the Private Hospital of Public Specialties, Esperanza (whose fierce nature got tamed by the cancer) doesn't waste any time and while she is recovering, she enjoys all of her fabulous flashbacks with Ricardo. The encounter after 20 years, the promises, the proposal, the sex... oh, the sex... the sex... God! 147/97! This woman is overheating inside! Please anybody get some cold water! In medical lingo, let's bring the pipes to relieve some of her intern heat and stabilize her.
It's not racist if it's not a person, right?
It's time for Kiko Gallo Blanco's (who seems to feel more than he should down there) first romantic date with Salma Kuri Fierro (who has been through a lot since the ''accident'' where she got pregnant) and everything is ready.
The Gorditas (or weight challenged for the PC correct) de chicharrón, the Lala string cheese, (Ja! Like they can afford it), the lemonade, the tap water. Since this is the first time Salma sees a gordita de juaréver filling, Kiko has to teach her how to prepare it. Mexican flag style with the three colors green, white and red. First, make a little road with salsa like this, then add crumbled cheese.
Dessert is esquimales, or if you are politically correct, inuits. Ice cream pops covered with chocolate.
And no first date with a girl is complete without the first love kiss. Kiko confesses Salm that he is a virgin and has not Practiced with a pillow or an orange. She feels compelled to help him out and so and since there's a little ice cream on his lips, well... let's take care of that and so.
Their theme song says you are a part of my puzzle and now I have you, hey hey hey
When Salma finds a corny song they dance and he promises her that the next time they do it he will be standing up. She puts her hand on Kiko's legs, he feels it! They both get too excited and kiss again only to be caught rehearsing red handed by Big brother and Big sister, who just finished discussing the Pato rubik cube of dilemmas.
Mario and Viviana are Salma's ride, and while they wait for her to finish ''eating'', try to kiss. Too bad they are interrupted yet again by a policeman who doesn't find anything funny and asks them if they are under the influence of some forbidden substance that alters the central nervous system. Too well informed to be a cop, juaréver.
Ricardo's kids are the best contraceptive
In Ricardo's house, Cristina snores while he watched her sleep.
Suddenly, she wake up scared not knowing where she is and Ricardo calms her down, convincing her to spend the night. My grandmother was told the same and ended up with 10 children. Anyway...
She should spend the night. After all, I am here to Protect, to feed, to cloth, to support. She rejects the idea in the beginning but his smile melts her and finally accepts as long as she wears pajamas.
In the middle of the night Ricardo and the kids offer her chicken soup for the soul and Selena mistakes her last name for ''rana''. She would like to try Ricardo's famous huevos (rancheros) and he runs to the kitchen to prepare them.
Later that night, they're both sleepless and after crashing on the way to the kitchen and breaking a glass of water, he tell her the same boring story of the desert, the minuteman, the jail, the marines and Afganistán. Oh, and that he likes to watch romantic movies. Well, well.. you're such a little box of cuteness! (Estuche de boberías monerías). Since they can not go back to sleep, they decide to watch a movie, but end up falling asleep together closely embracing each other. Selena gets in the bedroom and finds them.
Once awake, the kis offer her the continental, that includes but not limits to huevous rancherous, sopita de caracol, hot cakes and the like.
Ricardo tell Cristina that Gilberto Rentería, one of his many fiends (?¡ - I thought Iker Ocampo Zertuche was his ONLY FRIEND -he said it) has set an amber alert and Abril will be found.
I take back the ''patán'' thing. And I the ''Cretina'' thing, what?
It's still midnight and once again, everybody is sleepless in sueñolandia.
Patricia checks their photo album. The physical, yes, that one from the dark ages when people USED TO DEVELOP FILM AND PRINT PICTURES!! Pedro makes fun of her difficult teenage years and so does she.
When they see a picture of Esperanza young they think they have the most beautiful mother in the world. We will miss her.
Now that the Gallos (and Estrella) are alone, they talk about Salma and how she put him in cloud nine.
Erasmo has promised Estrella he will stop thinking about Pato even when his heart breaks in many pieces.
Otra oportunidad, otra oportunidad!
Ernesto de la Colina Molina tell Luca how much he suffers because Esperanza, the love of his life could have developed metastasis and the cancer spread to other organs, but Luca is optimistic and says no worry. We can see how much he loves her when we see him cry.
April showers
In the undisclosed place where Oscar has captive his own daughter, he scolds Gervasia and then Abril pees on herself, and that make him even more upset, and put some newspaper on the floor.
Selena Alegría Kidman goes to greet Cristina and finds her holding her picture and saying that once she finds her, she will hug her for a whole week, not week, for the whole month of April! Then Selena asks why Abril is missing and why she thought she was dead. My dad will find her, he is a hero, he is the best dad in the world.
In the living room, Ricardo thinks about Cristina.
Next day
As I mentioned, Selena Aegría Kidman wakes up very early and finds out daddy and Miss Principal together in bed. Is that the example you set for your kids? Let's talk about Breakfast.
The Gallos household Erasmo thinks about a little business, but if it's his idea, I wouldn't trust it. Let's Kiko keeps his lemonade AHHH! Refreshing for as little as 50 cents on the dollar. And it's june, so we know is hot! As long as there is no shortage of lemons, he can still have this lemonade stand until late october.
He wants to ''work'' with the kids early in the morning before he goes to work and they to school and then work some more at noon. What kind of business can that be if the lemonade stand is already open?
They have to save for a cell phone. BTW, now that the Vasconcelos sank since the principal got married and stopped going to work, we have this offer for scholarships at the Palacios Institute.
Luca goes to pick up Pato and Pedro to go together to the Private Hospital to see Esperanza.
Outside Ricardo's, there's people watching them and taking pictures with a zoom lens.
WOMAN KILLS HERSELF IN HOTEL ROOM
With a 9 mm. Don't blame anybody of my death, said the letter she had in her other hand.
Ernesto, like Snow White's Stepmother, receives proof from Murillo that Kracy has hung out her tennis shoes. Now he needs to find out who is Anastasia friend, the one holding the pictures of the fake sombra in the birthday to mow him down. I say that video could have been better than a picture, but juaréver! Pictures can be photoshopped...
Ding Dong! The witch is not dead!
When Anastasia answers the door, we get to see Kracy Tidman's huge gray eyes in a daring close up (look mama, no crowfeet- Either that or she is using Cicatricure).
TOMORROW! After being almost dead, Esperanza has a motive to keep fighting: Motherly love!

Grotesque: having April wet her pants in fear and putting newspaper on the floor like she were a dog. Just some ugly something else that does not belong here.
Not cute: Sorry, but I do not find the Salma/Kiko pairing cute. I would not trust her considering what she did to Adrián and with her teaching Kiko how to kiss already .
Questions:
Were the kids with Ricardo and Cristina when they went to her house for her belongings? Sure hope not considering they were being followed by Oscar's minions and Ricardo was going to follow her inside.
Is Cristina going to get her locks changed ASAP? get a security system? Hire a bodyguard? Go stay with Bárbara Santillana? Or just move in with Ricardo and the kids never to leave? Just wondering . . . And I think I mysteriously know the answer. No spoilers available, Will I be proven to be psychic?

You're right. Those locks should have been changed 1 year ago, along with everything else, but Cristina was probably too numb for the loss that she just let herself go in the pain not caring for anything except look beautiful and hold Abril's picture and cry...

A big thanks to Nandicta and Jarifa, too, your recaps were greatly enjoyed.
I cannot stand to see kids suffering like this. Yes, it's acting, but it's done by real children who can very well be traumatized by this kind of scenes. I just can't with this show.

Ah,Pablo, your conclusion about how Cristina spent the last year - crying and looking beautiful was spot on. Grief in full make-up should be the only way to grieve.

I am not enjoying Esperanza's health struggles. Now, she is going to live after suffering through all of this, isn't she?

I am sorry but I must say again that Ric and Cris exude no chemistry. I think Marjorie is too concerned with looking perfect all the time. Pablo, I agree with your comments. She needn't bother - she doesn't need to do but stand there. Oh, well that is what she is doing. She is trying to look sweet and sorrowful but there is no personality. I laughed at her "bed hed" which was a few wisps of her blonde locks askew. I don't look that good after an hour of primping (I mean if I were ever to spend an hour actually primping.)
Jarifa, I don't care for Salma either and would much rather Kiko end up with someone else. But I'm interested in his recovery and at least this storyline seems to be moving a bit...
So Pato senses Erasmo is interested? Well because it involves her perhaps that is why she is aware. While she is wonderful to her mother, she thought nothing of flouncing into Luca's workplace on any whim. I do think she can be rather focused on herself...

Thank you, Pablo! Entertaining read como siempre. I like that tiger saying. Remember back when Erasmo seemed like such a promising character? It's getting harder and harder.
What is Kracy's game? Wouldn't it be easier to continue to fake being dead if you went away instead of going straight to someone who might rat you out to the person who wanted you dead and might try again? Never mind; it's easier to continue to fake being dead if you get actually dead. Keep lurking around everyone Ernesto knows, Kracy.
I hope Baxter lives and ends up happily ever after with Esperanza once she recovers her health and her senses. Ernesto is too much a thug, even if he is sweet to her. Ricardo is also a thug, and stupid as well. You'd think the Best Father EVER!!! would know better than to have a new woman sleeping in his bed so soon with his kids there. After all they've been through.
Anyway, I've now gotten hooked on East Los High on Hulu, which despite most of its characters being teens and incorporating some definite cliches (cartoonishly mean "popular" girls, for example) is still far more compelling than this drivel.
