Caray, Caray!

So Jenny is finally a goner. Found it interesting they did not show how their struggle started - probably saving it for flashbacks.

Evaristo's plan might just be hitting a snag. Sounds like Santi will get to talk to Jenny before she dies (by the way if she isn't dead after this fall, something magic is going on). Ev was pissed that his hitman lost Santi at the airport - a cap and and sunglasses, he is clearly a master detective ;)
 

At least Santiago has an alibi. The other architect will know that he wasn't anywhere near the crime scene. I wonder whether Ana Leticia flew under an assumed name because her motive for killing Jenny has very little or nothing to do with Marcelo/Santiago.
 

She probably didn't I would think, since she didn't anticipate killing her. From her persepective it was just a stroke of good luck (or bad luck on Jenny's end) that Jenny was at this construction site and she had DNA papers in her purse and the purse was all the way up. I am thinking once she realized Jenny knew Marcelo was alive, she figured she would have to kill her now, which she wanted to do anyway for years. The fact that no one knew she was in Costa Paraiso plays right into her hand.
 

Oh, and (!) how about Evaristo sending thieves to Rem's house to steal a figurine with the key inside? Key to what? He said he needs a second key (which Marcelo will point him to, once Santi recovers his memory, so that also means Ev needs Santi alive) to open something. Another Ev mystery.

As an added bonus, Remedios trying to clean up after the break-in found and in turn also stole Sole's box of newspaper cutouts about the family of crazies looking for Ana Lu. So Rem now knows, or strongly suspects! Another question is why did Sole even keep that box - was she afraid she will forget that she stole a child and needed reminding??
 

Best scene for me last night: Evaristo paying Orlando a visit in the hospital and "faking" him out about knowing too much. Or was it a fake? Looks like Orlando will now be doing Evaristo's bidding and regretting the day he ever stuck his nose in Soledad's/Ana Lucía's business.

Congrats to all of you who saw Jenny's demise coming.

Maybe Soledad is just "sentimental".
 

Haven't seen last night's episode yet but when I saw the previews from the night before, showing Jenny falling off a construction site, I had hoped it was a dream sequence. I guess not.
 

Jenny's been falling off that construction site since the opening credits so...

Now Mariano and Viridiana can begin their crazy hatemance. I don't think Viridiana will be a wimpy pushover like Jennifer was.
 

Will anyone suspect foul play? Looks like Jenny just fell off; perhaps she just got too close to the edge. Will Ana Leticia have remorse over Jenny's death like she did over her contract on Marcelo/Santiago? I doubt it.
 

It would be nice if Mariano did but he seems to have blinders on when it comes to AnaLet.
 

Thanks for the safe deposit box info bit, Jarifa. I am also wondering of Orlando will now be forced to work for Ev.

Very fortuitous for Ana Le that they were on a construction site and no one saw her there. I am betting no one but Marcelo/Santi (if even that) will suspect foul play.
 

Univision practically spoiled Jenny's death before 3VA started. I thought it would come a bit sooner though. I thought I had missed how their scuffle started but maybe not. Hopefully they'll show it again at the beginning of tonight's episode.
 

I just wonder how much the body count will need to go up before all fingers point to either AnaLe or Ev....or both. Rem finding out what Soledad did, does she blab? And if she does, that would put her right in the line of fire of having an Ev visit of the persuasive kind.

Still think Chana is on thin ice, Orlando stays around as long as Ev can use him, or he's asked to kill or hurt someone he cares about and refuses, than it's buy buy. None of these folks are bad, maybe annoying, but it will get to be too unbelievable and too much to watch people being stupid and not putting 2 and 2 together.

Soledad keeping paper articles--plot ploy. No one in their right mind who kept a child from their family all those years would have an easily accessible box of who that child really is laying around. Pullease.

And enough with the Oh so close moments with AnaLe and Santi. Just stop it until episode 60, 59th minute when we know they will finally do the OMG moment. The whole plane thing was annoying.


 

Part 1

Evaristo is on the phone, its all arranged, they know what to do.
Meanwhile Santiago and his madrina say an extremely long goodbye w/lots o’ tears. He swears he’ll never forget her (ironic coming from a man w/amnesia) Then goodbye to Sole and they even hug and then another long goodbye to FreeSpirit, he remembers Sole’s admonition not to get her hopes up and not to promise her anything, so he gives her a kiss instead of the reassurance she begs for when she wants him to swear for the umpteenth time he’s coming back.
Annnd he’s off.

While everybody is at the airport, criminal types break into the pension and toss the place, taking FreeSpirit’s ID bracelet.


Evaristo visits Orlando, at first he thinks he’s a doctor, remember he had a hood over his head when kidnapped, but as Evaristo reads the list of injuries Orlando realizes who he is. Evaristo congratulates him for having the good judgement not to see FreeSpirit, if he keeps this up they could end up being friends. Orlando is shaking in fear but Evaristo tells him not to worry, he’s not here to hurt him, but they need to talk about Ramiro.

Who is getting his cards read by Chana. She tells him a dangerous man is setting a trap for him and counsels him not to accept the weapon he will be offered or he will make a terrible mistake using it and ruin his entire life. He wonders what kind of man she thinks he is. Chana says the cards say he will find the missing triplet, he and one of the triplets can save the other two. He is a pure soul and his fate is to find the missing girl.

Santiago reads a letter from Remedios on the plane in which she gives him a return ticket and counsels him not to trust Evaristo.
The plane is just about to leave when BadAna (Oh yeah, I’m calling her BadAna now) runs up and gets on the plane sitting several rows ahead of Santiago and hoping to herself that Marcelo is dead.

Abue and tioM chat – who will love the girls if I die? Jenny? (ungh *forehead slap* I’m beginning to understand where BadAna gets it. )


Freespirit mopes w/her mom b/c Santiago wouldn’t swear for the thirtieth time that he’s coming back

Javi is paying for the lunch Inaki is complaining about and he still has the nerve to ask, bully, and browbeat his bro into giving him a loan of all his savings.


Remedios and her guest( formerly known as Judy but now Imma call her Agony Aunt, yep still easier than remembering her name) get back to the pension at about the same time and after commiserating for a while about missing their kids, or in Remedios’s case the grown man she adopted, (and after AgonyAunt gets all, how sharper than a serpent’s tooth for a while) they notice the door is open and go inside ( what if the guys are still inside? Two little ladies aren’t going to be much challenge for them) and find chaos; belongings tumbled everywhere and stuff missing AgonyAunt is mostly worried about her mementos but Remedios instead of looking over her own stuff goes to Sole’s room and finds her box o’ secrets wide open, she reads a newspaper clipping about the accident and missing girl. What!
AgonyAunt comes in crying about the best picture of her husband being gone, they took it for the silver picture frame. Remedios does seem to know about some of her stuff being missing, and just notices the figurine Al gave her is gone

Santiago sleeps on the plane and dreams about a woman who dresses like BadAna but has Jenny’s face. BadAna remembers the same event but now its her face.

Sole and FreeSpirit have a nice mother-daughter day w/jugglers and mimes.

 

Part 2

Evaristo hired the guys who broke into the pension, we know b/c one of the guys gives him the figurine Remedios was just missing, he sends the guy off to go over the loot w/his grandson and smashes the figurine. There’s a key inside! Ev remembers arguing w/Al about his betraying Marcelo to protect Sole. Al says you can kill me but you can’t get what you want. Looks like the key is to a safety deposit box, but to get the other they need Santiago to remember where it is. The grandson checked thru the stuff the thieves got, nothing too incriminating, and gives Ev Analu’s ID bracelet. Ev also thinks Al set up the identical cadaver w/an identical tattoo to fake Marcelo’s death, before the accident.


Back athe pension everbody is standing around lamenting the robbery. Javi got robbed too so he can’t give his savings to Inaki, so his dad gives him what is in his wallet. Anibal thinks it’s a pretty poor excuse for a man/son begging Daddy for pocket $ at his age.

BadAna gets off the plane and leaves the airport w/o ever noticing Santiago a few feet behind her. Santiago meanwhile remembers Remedios’s counseling him not to trust Evaristo and disguises himself w/a baseball hat and shades and walks right past the Juan Carlos Beltran sign and the henchie holding it.

BadAna calls Jenny from her car and they agree to meet up at Jenny’s jobsite to look athe results since Jenny has to wait there to meet the architect who’s supposed to take over for her.

Sole and FreeSpirit get back home and are greeted w/news of the break in. First thing Sole looks for is her box but its gone. Apparently besides secrets and incriminating clippings it also had $ in. Remedios has the box and she has figured everything out just frm reading all those clippings.

BadAna gets to the jobsite and puts on a hardhat to go walking through the bldg. w/Jenny. (it actually goes pretty well w/her skintight backless jumpsuit, but then what wouldn’t)

Santiago gets to Jenny’s business and meet up w/the architect she was sposta meet at the jobsite, introducing himself as Jenny’s husband. They agree to ride to the jobsite together to see Jenny. Evaristo’s guys are watching the place, since they missed Santiago at the airport and see them meeting. Evaristo’s pretty pissed they haven’t already got Santiago in the bag, but tells them to follow and find out where they’re going and who the guy giving Santiago a lift is. Half of this convo happens in Orlando’s hospital room and Ev tells him his hearing it complicates things, now he knows too much – just kidding, we’re buds now right.


There is a fight 6+ floors up in the unfinished building. We see what happens thru the space where the walls should be but we can’t hear anything. BadAna gets physical w/Jenny and pushes her off the building. Accident??? Find out next time.

I haven't watched the last few nights, but I'll try to watch this one and catch up. It seems as though things are finally happening. (slowly)

I wonder if Orlando had realized that karma has come back to kick him in the butt with a vengeance. He both set thugs on Ramiro (thinking he was Santi) that beat him up, and then used extortion on Ramiro. Now, Evaristo is doing the same to him. Ha!
 

Ria, that's right in line with keeping wills and other such documents hidden. Makes no sense except as a future plot device when the "wrong" or wronged person finds it.

During the long goodbye at the airport was anyone else thinking that Boyer and Rulli were wishing he was in uniform and she was dressed in 1941 clothes with a big hat? That played like he was a soldier going off to war. Come to think of it, that may be closer to the truth than anyone knows.

Remedios learning the truth about Soledad and Ana Lucia is definitely progress, but is it a game-changer yet? Remedios needs to keep mum for now and do some research on this.

Seeing again Ramiro getting his cards read...lord, he has to be once of the most boring characters in this. He really hasn't done much and lately, he's either just a side kick with someone or getting his cards read....again. Maybe if he got off his butt and did his own digging he'd accomplish something. Or study up on his accounting skills.

 

Thanks Sneaky!! I'm about to watch the episode. If Chana's cards say one triplett will save the other two, how can that be? AnaLet shouldn't be saved. She has now intentionally killed (tried to) three people.
 

Thanks guys, everybody just looking right past Santiago last night was a hoot, maybe he's just not that noticeable, maybe we would walk right past him in an airport w/o seeing him too. Right.

Carvivlie - Chana's cards say a lot of really vaguely relevant things, maybe by "save" they mean stop in the sense of BadAna or maybe the cards don't know how bad she is :P

Jarifa - yep Orlando's life belongs to Ev now, and Ev keeps rubbing it in, there's no way he's getting away from him, and given that he whimpers in fear practically anytime he sees him I don't think he'll even try.

Julie, I thought about that but I thought previously the cards stated that the "good and noble one" would save the other two. That leaves AnaLet out. But who knows. Maybe AnaLet will try to redeem herself by dying to save her sisters. Nah

Great recap Sneaky. Like Julie I especially loved your quip about the irony of an amnesiac man vowing to never forget his AnaLucia. And good Lord, that scene just went on forever. One "don't leave" and one "I love you" would have been sufficient.

Never watched the entrada closely (that's what the ff button is for) so was unprepared for the killing of Jennifer. Heights are a "thing" with me...seldom go up the first two or three steps of a ladder so I found that absolutely horrifying. This show was supposed to be my "easy" one as opposed to Yago. Guess not! Whew.
 

I've missed a lot of episodes. Can someone tell me if Leticia is really a blood relation to her uncle.
