Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 21 (July 11, 2016)

Who has marked the most milestones along Un Camino?
In this humble opinion, it is Amelia. She has--
*Recovered from a near fatal accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down
*Left her suffocating, possessive husband
*Moved back into her family home and adjusted well to the luxuries it afforded her
*Recovered from her paralysis
*Secured an important position in her father’s construction empire and seems to be doing well
*Changed her hairstyle and wardrobe
*Stopped obsessing over Luis, her teenage heart-throb
*Is sorry for her treatment of her suffocating, possessive ex-husband
*Is sorry for her mistreatment of her darling daughter
*Changed her hairstyle again
*Has only slapped, cursed, or denigrated her evil-minded sister
*Helped keep the location of her sequestered father a secret for two years
*Has started to flirt a little with her suffocating, possessive ex-husband
*Has sudden feelings of jealousy seeing Marissa in Pedro’s arms, despite the innocent gesture

Who is pretty much still at Mile 0 or inching along?
Isabela—She’s still obsessing over Carlos and plotting Fer’s downfall, enlisting Marissa's help
Lupe—She’s back to being Marissa’s personal assistant
Clarita—Married, but no husband present and still the maid at the Gomez-Ruiz household
Ordoñez—Still the family rock, trusted attorney, confidential advisor and running interference
Pedro—He’s been through a lot, it’s true, but he’s still imposing his unchanged way of life on the third generation, despite advice to the contrary
Rosaura—Who for some reason has promoted selective forgiveness
Mariana and Hernan – They are of a kind, with a single-minded purpose to wrest the family fortune from Don Fernando’s granddaughter; that has not changed since the beginning

Who is sort of halfway at Mile 90?
Camila – Despite her two-toned head, is now thinking with one brain and speaking up to her tormentor father and stepmother. Will her new-found courage finally heal the breach she and Fer had and change her direction?

Luis – Who thinks money is everything, uses his talent for stealing from his wife and stepson and seeming so earnest and concerned while manipulating Marissa. Will his being shot and nearly dying change his direction?

Marissa – After being diagnosed with a chronic debilitating disease has found the strength to recover her position at the bank and deal with her rebellious son and two-faced husband. Will any revelations of Luis’ mismanagement of the bank change her direction? Will Luis' being shot and Carlos the principal suspect change her direction?

And what of the two lovebirds? Where are they? Not wherever "There" is yet.
Carlos and Fernanda—They are victims of truths, half-truths, lies and self-imposed brain-freezes. Many know their secrets, no one is willing to spill them all, and neither does Fernanda, who holds the biggest secret. She refuses to tell Pedrito’s other parent he has a son, on the very flimsiest, unsupported, information. Fact checking does not run in Fernanda’s vocabulary. At least Carlos has uncovered two big truths. Fernanda is NOT married to Javier or anyone else and Fernanda was in prison for two years. Can we say Fernanda is the Rabbit and Carlos is the Turtle? He’s going to get to the truth before Fernanda does, regardless of how fast she runs from him, but we need them both to arrive at Mile 100 still in love and willing to accept each other, with all their flaws and virtues.

In my haste to get this posted, I left out a pivotal character--Javier. Maybe the Patio Folk have some thoughts they might like to share on Javier.

Does anyone know when Camino reaches its Destino?

Mid-August/End of August depending if they edit it or not.

This was great fun Anita - thank you.

I think you hit the nail on the head with each assessment as to the growth/progress of our characters. Really enjoyed "Camila – Despite her two-toned head, is now thinking with one brain"...

I found your summary of Amelia particularly astute. "Is sorry for her treatment of her suffocating, possessive ex-husband", "Is sorry for her mistreatment of her darling daughter" and finally,"Has started to flirt a little with her suffocating, possessive ex-husband". While I totally concur, I am fidgeting a bit as I must admit, I want this fractured fairy tale to have a happy ending, as absurd as that sounds. Now, I want Ignacio for Marissa. I'm not sure that Pedro can ever truly reconcile with Carlos, but having Marissa as his wife might make that totally impossible. She could/should never have to hear Pedro's constant negativity about her son. And as many have pointed out over the last few months (and Delilah in her delightful recap of Friday's episode), Pedro would never be able to accept the class difference between himself and Marissa. While it has never existed in her mind, he constantly alludes to it.

Javier is an enigma to me. I readily admit I have no idea what he is thinking until he speaks. And whatever thoughts are swirling in that intelligent yet reserved brain are a mystery to me. While he seems to be on the side of truth, he seems to stop short on revealing anything himself, certainly due to his respect and love for Fernanda, but I'm not sure he is the strong silent hero either.

Thank you for this great Sunday night post Anita!

Diana

Spot on Anita. I'm confused by Javier as well. He says things that make sense but then does things that make absolutely no sense. He is Isabella light. Not willing to do tricks to win Fer, but blind and deaf when it comes to her telling him and his seeing how in love she is with Carlos. Its still obsession.

Anita, this was a good assessment of the different characters. You hit it good with amelia. She to me is the one thats made the biggest visible change. Tho I do see a change in cami. Pedro has changed for the worst. I don't get this
Guy. For a good guy he sure is a pain in the ass. When javy came to ask fer on a date, pedro was happy, likes hes just going be the one to wipe carlos out of fer's mind and heart. Hes a reverse snob, I don't like them anymore than I than I like the regular snobs.

Javier is not a bad guy. But his constant hanging around is giving pedro hope of a fer/javier hookup. Not gonna happen.
Even tho cami's hair is divided, her brain is workin in one unit mode. Which is good cuz it allows her to stand up to
Daddy dearest, and mean ol stepmommy dearest.
Im really surprised at aunty sista the sister, telling fer "not" to forgive!!! somebody needs to do pentence.

Whats a mother to do when her babyboy is in danger of doing time, and the miscreant she's married to Is partly the blame. even tho he didn't set this up he's going to milk it for everything it's worth. A lot to look forward between now and august.

Thanks for this assessment Anita it was fun.

Hey, Anita, welcome home!

Gee that was a fun rundown of our cast of screwed up characters.

Don't know where they are going with the Pedro character, but it seems to me as though he will have to have a moment of catharsis if he is ever to change his angry, destructive ways.

I worry about don Fer, and his continued relevance in the lives of offspring.

I wish Flip was a good enough lawyer to get the charges against Fer dismissed.

David

Loved this rundown, Anita! I would put Javier with the hasn't changed a bit grouping. Like others said, he's got some nobility and goodness, but to a point. I would say, physician, heal thyself, when it comes to his love for Fer.

Pedro, I'd put him into the changed group, but with a note that it's been a change for the worse. Delilah, I am totally hoping Marissa ends up with Iggy. He's a good guy.

I'd put Carlos into the beginning to change group, since he's shown a little bit of spunk recently. Fer, I'd slot her there too, but like Pedro, with a note that it's a change for the worse. I'm just horrified she won't tell Carlos about the baby. It's cruel on her part.

David, let me know on the 13th, it works for me.

Camino ends on July 17 in Mexico (Sunday night gran final). If my counting is right, that will make 125 episodes.

Episode #91 Things that makes you go eh? and wtf? I combined some of the scenes.

Part I.
We pick back up with Malquerida taking food from everyone’s hands and declaring that she didn’t escape and that Maribel and Fer are her only friends (eh?). How she got Fer’s address? I don’t know. They sure do let Pedrito roam free out there where anyone can sneak up on you and snatch your baby. However, this is the best behaved little boy. They know how to keep him content for his scenes. (Demetria) wants to stay with Fer until she gets a job and then the brilliant Dr. Save a Ho jumps in and offers to a recently released felon, sentenced to serve 20 years (for what I don’t know and neither does he), come live in his home and be his housekeeper. WTF Javier? Maribel tried to change places with her, but Javier said no…crazy? I guess crazy would have been to let a klepto in your house too.

Lucero is trapped in her apartment while Diego is out stalking the little red-headed girl under the pretense of helping with her school work – sound familiar? WTF?

Demetria is in Javier’s apartment putting on a Miss Universe show and it’s down to Miss Mexico and Miss United States. Miss Mexico won and Demetria happens to be Miss Mexico. She crowns herself and gives an acceptance speech, thanks all the little people. I must admit, I found it pretty funny. Javier comes in and catches her (obviously in a bad mood) but decides that the shirt she burned that he never wore is not really worth getting upset about. He goes to his room and she continues giving her celebratory wave.

Part II.

Clarita is trying to get Paco to eat (who’d a thunk he wouldn’t eat), but he’s too upset because his dad and grandma are missing. Clarita tries to lie and say there must have an emergency at the hospital, but I think she forgot that Paco was a street kid and he can read bulls**t. Fernanda must have ESP or that mother’s instinct because like clockwork she show’s up and Paco is much better. However he mistakes Fer for a person that doesn’t lie because he says that she will tell him where his family is (eh?). She has magic because he ate his food, did his homework, and now has time to play video games with Fer.
Marissa goes to visit her ‘wish he were dead’ husband and tries to convince him that Carlos didn’t try to kill him, but his lapdog is saying he did. He wonders if it is true (I guess that is not a far-fetched assumption on his part), and he tells Marissa that she knows that Carlos is his only enemy (eh?) He tells Marissa that he loves her, but if Carlos tried to kill him then he is going to rot in jail.

Rotting in jail (no such thing as a bench to sit on in the holding cells) we find Carlos thinking of his schoolgirl (eh? didn’t she graduate) and the sparkle in her eyes. Even though her body is with Javier, her mind is at the jail. (went old school song there)

Fer shushing an already quiet Pedrito – he looks drugged is that what they are doing (wtf) is thinking about Carlos and his wrongful imprisonment and how much she wishes she could help him.
Isy shows up and Marissa tells her that she’s going to tell Carlos that he’s the daddy. Little does she know, Ordonez happens upon this conversation and his face goes, wtf? Isy is like, you don’t even know it’s true. However, what is true is that Carlos is locked up and we need to concentrate on that (touché Isy touché). So Marissa decides she needs to talk to that lapdog and get him to change his story.

Old Fer finds out from Mariana that Luis is alive and he’s surprised that he survived being shot 3 times. Somebody needs to fire the hitmen. Blanca is like, I don’t know why you are shocked because only the good die young. Old Fer laughs at Blanca’s obvious hatred of Luis and they discuss his legal mishandlings of Old Fer’s documents. Don Fer decides he’s had enough and will retire to his room, but before Blanca can follow him Mariana stops her to ask what they are referring to. Blanca tells her that it’s just about her niece but you know Mariana is not buying what she’s selling. Just then Hernan, ever the abusive father, has dragged his two-toned daughter into the house by her two-toned hair. Wtf?

Part III.

Ordonez, decides to come a knocking in the middle of the night while Clarita is in her nightie and scold her about Carlos being Pedrito’s father. Wtf? Clarita has figured that it’s a poorly held secret and asks how did he find out? He explains how but tells her she should be minding other people’s business and telling other people’s secrets? Eh? Umm Ordonez, I like these folks and all, but I just work here and I wasn’t there when the deed was done so I don’t know who the daddy is?

Poor Paco can’t sleep because his family isn’t home so he calls Fer to talk. Fer is looking at what must be a picture of Carlos and wonder how her spoiled rich boy is doing without all of his spoiled rich boy stuff. She shushes a non-crying baby again, eh? Paco tells her that he has realized that a house is not a home when it’s just him and Clarita there. (more old school songs) Fer tells Paco that if he tries really hard to imagine his dad there, then he will see him. Paco has now imagined that Carlos is standing in the doorway moving towards him and then sitting on his bed giving him a hug. Fer tells him to close his eyes and she closes hers as well and imagines that she, lil Pedro, Paco, and Carlos are all squished together on her twin bed.

Marissa tries to make a deal with the devil. Well, the devil’s sidekick. She offers money and a position at the bank to Solorzano to drop his ridiculous accusation against Carlos. He reminds her that Carlos DID threaten to kill Luis and that Carlos is Luis’ only enemy, wtf? Marissa says, don’t try to hide behind details, eh? He really doesn’t promise anything, but I guess she bought off on his non-promise promise. Now she owes him one so don’t forget.

The longest day ever is over and now we are at Fer’s flower shop (still don’t know the name of it) and Fer is telling Maribel how much she couldn’t help herself and she had to visit Carlos – it was the call of the wild. She wanted to hug, cuddle, and tell him about his son and then a piece of tumbleweed blew in and ruined the moment, again! Later Fer gets a call from Lupe letting her know that Carlos will be released today and they agree to meet and off an excited Fer goes to be there when Carlos is released.

Javier, is obsessing over Fer so much that he can’t eat the breakfast that Demetria put her blood, sweat, and tears into for him. She eats some of his food and then feeds some to him off of the same fork, hmm ok? She guesses that he’s sad about Fer and he confirms that he loves her and wishes she would love him back. She tells him that he’s too educated, intelligent, and sexy (ok Demetria) to be in love with someone who doesn’t love you. Find someone that does, dumba**?

Over at the jail, Marissa is explaining to Ordonez that she made a deal with the devil’s minion and he tells her, rightfully so, to not count on it. He’s a slippery snake and bff’s with the devil. Carlos has heard this and is pissed that she did this to get him released.

Part IV.

Meanwhile, Solorzano is telling Luis about Leo being in town and that he might have been the one to try to kill him. In the meantime, your wife tried to get me to drop the charges against her son, but what do you want me to do?

Mariana and Alicia are talking about Carlos being locked up and Alicia tells Mariana that Carlos is Luis’ only enemy, eh? Are these people serious? Solorzano comes out and let’s Alicia know that Luis is waiting for her, she leaves Mariana to have a word with her blackmailer. Mariana is wondering if Solorzano spent all of the blackmail money and he blows her off by telling her it was business.
Don Fer and Blanca are having breakfast. As they are discussing visiting Luis in the hospital they hear Camila, who is locked in her room, (Blanca already knows this but seems un-fazed by it) yelling to be let out. Don Fer says they are going to kick down the door and get her out of there, eh? He weighs like a buck five with a three piece soaking wet suit on. That should be hilarious! Somehow they release Camila. She tells them that she hates her dad and loves her boyfriend but he’s broke. Don Fer says to bring her boyfriend by so they can discuss his not being broke anymore. Best abuelo ever! Cami does tell Don Fer that Luis accused Carlos of trying to kill him. Don Fer is impacto!

Carlos, his mother, his stalker, his faithful stead, and the snake are at the police station. Carlos is explaining how he’s too smart to tell the entire town that he will kill Luis and then have him shot in the center of town. That’s what dumb people do. Then Solorzano declares that he heard the gunman (sorry, I have to laugh at this part while typing because it’s so ridiculous) say that Dr. Gomez-Ruiz is responsible. Yes, I stand by my earlier statement that the gunman needs to be fired. Not only is Luis still alive he’s yelling out the name of the man that paid for the hit? Wtf? Carlos wants to punch him, Solorzano says he heard it loud and clearly. Not to worry, Ordonez is on the rebuttal. So you gave a statement, but left that out of it? You said it happened so fast, but you could hear that. Boy bye! After the judge shuts everyone the hell up and calms them down he sets bail and releases Carlos. Marissa gives Solorzano a death stare and so does Carlos.

Fer finds Clarita waiting for the Gomez Ruiz family to be released and lets her know that Ordonez found out that Carlos is Pedrito’s father. She’s mad at Clarita for not lying to this man (wtf?) who says that he heard Marissa say it. So now Fer knows that everybody knows, except Carlos. So she leaves the jail all pissed at Clarita, AGAIN wtf? On her way out she runs into Lupe who asks what’s wrong, but Clarita (who is getting on my nerves with this timid a** behavior) won’t tell her so Lupe runs out after Fer. Lupe catches up to Fer and discuss how everyone knows Carlos is Pedrito’s father. She’s worried that her father will be left out because he raised lil Pedro since he was born, eh? Lupe tells Fer that you better tell him before he finds out from someone else and doesn’t forgive you. She seems shocked to hear this, wtf?

Mariana is listening to the end of Alicia and Luis’ discussion. He has ears all over the cornfield. As always, she needs help getting her hands on the legitimate will. Luis is like, damn, I can’t even rest in the hospital without you bothering me. Wtf? He warned her that will wasn’t legitimate, but noooo she just had to have it! Just then Don Fer and Blanca walk in. Tomorrow looks juicy

Good night folks. There was a lot going on in little bity scenes. As always, fill in what I may have missed or misunderstood.

Hi, Kendra. I really enjoyed your wtf theme. That expresses exactly what I feel about a lot of the plot bits in tns, especially this one.

It was crazy that Javier offered Malquerida a job as a live-in housekeeper, but she seems to be the only voice of reason in his sterile household. She is uneducated, spunky and streetwise; he is overeducated and can't see the forest for the trees. Listen to her Jav. Her advice, and perhaps she personally, may be the way out of your funk.

I have always thought that Fer was making a mistake by not telling Carlos that Pedrito was his son, and her reasons for doing so hinge around Isy. There are signs all around that this isn't a concern for Fer, but she doesn't see them. Too bad.

What game is Solorzano attempting to play? I think that by double crossing Marissa, he has made a powerful enemy.

The whole supposition that Carlos is Luis' only enemy in the world is laughable, and I don't get the devotion that his secretary shows him. Is she smitten with him, and thus blind to his shenanigans or is she just too dumb to live?

I am loving that don Fer is getting better, and is taking charge around the household.

Isa seems to be loosing ground all around, barely hanging on by her fingernails.

I hate it when house staff are put in untenable situations like Ordonez put Clarita in, but I'm glad that he got the truth.

Thanks again, Kendra. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is a good title for this entire episode.

David

Me likey a lot Kendra. Thank you

"she forgot that Paco was a street kid and he can read bulls**t"

"a piece of tumbleweed blew in and ruined the moment" Perfect for Isabela

If I didn't know better I would think Pedro was Fernanda's bio dad. Same illogical stubbornness.

Best part of the show was the make believe Miss Universe pageant in Javiers living room.

Wish Javier would stop it with the skinny jeans.

I'm not sure Carlos could have spent another day behind bars with no food and drink for another pity party or a big pile of leaves and a Fernanda doll like he had last time he spent the night away from home.

I don't know where Marissa's confidence in her ability to deal with riffraff comes from. She's kinda dumb

Kendra, I missed a lot because I did a walking workout while watching, so your recap was great and explained a lot of wtf I was experiencing! Thank you for a fun recap. I completely agree with your take on Fer in this episode. I am really just about done with her. Thank goodness tonight's episode promises something in that department.

Don Fer and the Malquerida were my favorites in this episode for sure. The Malq is adorable, actually. And I loved how Don Fer was there for Camila and is going to give Luis some grief tonight. Go Don Fer.

David, I too wondered if the secretary is in love with Louse. She certainly seemed smitten and quite loyal to the bum.

Kendra, thank you much! I don't know if I feel asleep or what, but I would have missed some of those details for sure. (Hope I'll do better tonight, since I'm on the schedule for recapping. Last night was West Coast Swing class, and some of us stayed for a while to practice.)

I am totally creeped out watching the scenes with Diego. And the scenes with Lucero are painful to watch. When Diego gets a new girl, what does he do with the old girl?

The scenes with Malquerida were great. I love that she's giving advice to the psychiatrist ... and good advice at that. Maybe she'll form a Latin rock band with Camila's boyfriend. I like the theme they've been using for Camila. It sounds a bit like Santana.

Have we seen the girl with the eating disorder lately? Javier's been spending far too much time at Pedro's casita to be helping her out much.

Kendra--What a brilliant take on the goings on with your wtf? and eh? themes on this mixed up bunch of people. I loved your reference to Isy as Tumbleweed--that's exactly what her hair reminds me of.

Fer seems less and less like the smart, engaging, mature young woman Carlos fell in love with. However, there isn't anyone else on the stage that could fill the bill for him--Clarita? A married woman; Camila? In lust with a decent-seeming rock musician; Isy? As crazy as ever (if he hasn't gone back to her by now, he won't); Maribel? Too old (in my opinion); La Malquerida? Destined for Javier (someone mentioned that earlier); Alicia? She's been stuck to Luis for too long; Lucero and the red-head don't count. It's Fer or nobody, I guess. That must mean he will get over his anger at being the last to know who Pedrito's father is.

Fer does have an marginally sound, but irrational reason, for not wanting to tell Carlos about Pedrito, but not good enough--how will Big Pedro feel about Carlos becoming a more intimate part of raising Pedrito. Tough Noogies, Fer. Are you really going to choose between your father (whom you can't kiss on the lips and sleep with) or Carlos (handsome, a bit of a knucklehead, whom you are madly in love with and with whom you can sleep naked out under the stars and a knobby blanket). Geesh, hard choice? Give me a wtf? and an eh? break.

Aleta--The anorexic-bullemic girl was Adelina. Interesting that you should bring it up again. I'm converting earlier episodes to discs (for eternal preservation) and I'm at the episode where she and Lucero go to a professional photographer for shots to include in her folder. I'd completely forgotten that scene. She has sort of disappeared.

If Diego is a serial perverted abuser, does he keep the girls locked up forever and keeps renting new apartments for the next victims? He started out so sincere. The same episode I was referring to above is the same one where he arrives at the school to take over the Literature class. Now I see him through different eyes--he picked out one of the most vulnerable girls who went gagga for him: Lucero. What does he get out of this? Will anyone notice he doesn't participate in "family" functions anymore? They were both always there during Fer's troubles.

dy, regarding the 13th, If the CC's are good, I can do it. I will post something here right after the show airs and tell you if I need help. Thank you for always having my back.

David

David, no problem! After a few aggravations during today's workday, I am looking forward to a good angsty entertaining episode of Camino and a glass of wine. I'll look for your post.

Kendra, an excellent summary.

I so enjoyed your tongue in cheek approach - wry, witty and a hint of sarcasm. Perfect.

"He goes to his room and she continues giving her celebratory wave", "Marissa goes to visit her ‘wish he were dead’ husband" and "The longest day ever is over and now we are at Fer’s flower shop (still don’t know the name of it)" (me neither!!) were among many favorites.

Like tofie, the highlight of last night was Malquerida's singing (and fun props). I'm sure escaping into fantasy has helped her survive. David, I loved her sensible advice "She tells him that he’s too educated, intelligent, and sexy (ok Demetria) to be in love with someone who doesn’t love you". Hear, hear...While I can't quite picture Jav with her (but I have seen My Fair Lady), I am enjoying the earnest and straight from the hip advice she is dispensing. Perhaps we could have her talk with Fer to come clean with Carlos? dy77, agree she is a breath of fresh air.

Anita, thank you for naming Adelina. I think nina was also mentioning her yesterday...Yes Aleta, that would be a wonderful person for Jav to help. She was very sweet...

Again Kendra, this was wonderful. thank you.

Diana

Thanks everyone! After i re-read the recap I realized that I was commenting more than anything. They kept jumping between scenes last night that I got dizzy. It really was a 'Whiskey Tango Foxtrot' night. Fer mad at Clarita for not lying, Ordonez imposing on Clarita, Marissa thinking she's a mob boss, Luis and others saying that he only has one enemy...I'm still laughing at that one. Solorzano and Luis coming up with that wild after the fact story. I'm glued to the t.v. for tonight. Thanks again.

Ok, one more time. Kendra really liked your recap. There are some stuuuuuupid people in this story. Tell me again why Fer wont tell carlos hes a a baby daddy? There is no way carlos would keep little baby p from big stupid p. That would be cruel. Unlike pedro who thinks its perfectly fine to lie to that child about who his daddy is. How'd that turn out for fernanda. Hes not that kids dad. Carlos saw the pain fer went through with those lies. And so did pedro, why subject another generation to that heartache.

That was sweet what fer did for paco. She'll be great mom to him. Once she gets her head straight. And tell the freakin truth.
And she gets pissed at clarita for not lying to Iggy. Really? These people are so stuuuuupid. There walkin around talkin to each other about keepin a secret thats not really a secret anymore cuz everybody but daddy knows about. But hes got a Feeling hes the daddy. I could just grab fer and shake her. I hope marissa tells him. Stuuuuuuupid people.

And why the hell do people keep sayin "carlos is luis' only enemy", really? Most of the cast hates louy. Including viewerville. He has many enemies.

I like the "tumbleweed" referance to isy. She's the only one on the show with that much hair not tied down. Blanca and don fer to the rescue, gettin the black & white princess out of her dungen. Now if somebody would just get her out of that Cruella Deville wig on steroids.

Thanks for the recap Kendra. I didn't get to see a lot of the episode last night because we had a really bad lightning and thunder storm and it knocked Comcast off the grid for a while, that's why I like recapers. Thank you kendra!!!

Tonight should be pretty juicey. Whose gonna tell carlos? Who wont tell carlos? O and I almost forgot, demetria would be good for javier. They totally have nothing in common but they're perfect for each other. So she was a jailbird so was Fernanda and Carlos and that's working out just fine, once they get the cobwebs out of the way. opposites do attract, look at c&f, totally opposites. And they looooove each other.

Why doesn't lucera try to escape. That creepy......person she married is just the worst. He's a predator. And theres
Probably a trail of bodies. She needs help.

Nina--You nailed all the inconsistencies in these last episodes. Unfortunately hard-headed Fer keeps saying it DID turn out ok for her not to know her real father, but she had a daddy all the time she was growing up. One who doted on her. However, Big Pedro will always be Abuelo, so it won't be long before Little Pedro starts wondering where his own daddy is. Then what is Fer's story going to be. Better the truth and come what will. She just can't see beyond Izzy, I'm afraid.

In that episode where Carlos confronts her in the moonlight outside the new shack, he kept saying over and over that Izzy didn't factor in the equation. What else does Fer need? She takes her daddy's word over Carlos, who she should believe in. Wait until all the lies Pedro has told come to light. I just know his answer will be "I did it to protect you, keep you from getting hurt any more by that no-good rich boy."

And he thinks telling her that her love of her life Is cheating on her with Isabel. Didn't he know that would hurt her and he told her at the lowest point in her life when he should have been considering how she was already feeling like she lost everything. I Could smack him myself. And fer could use a good shaken too.

"And why the hell do people keep sayin "carlos is luis' only enemy", really? Most of the cast hates louy. Including viewerville. He has many enemies".

Indeed! Loved your comment Nina. What a great way to start the day.

I was lost in most of the Fer/Carlos dialog last night and am eagerly awaiting your recap (I believe it is Aleta?)...

Wishing everyone a happy day today.

Diana

Good morning, Patio! Here's your recap for 7/12/2016.

Part 1:

Luis’s room at hospital: Blanca and Don Fernando encounter Mariana and Hernan. Don F wants to know what they’re doing there. Blanca tells Don F that Mariana is there for the will. Luis feigns ignorance, “What will?”

This hospital room is like a train station with all the comings and goings. Marissa is the next visitor, bearing news that Carlos has been bonded out of jail and calling Luis descaradamente (brazen, impudent).

Flower shop: Maribel sells a lovely large arrangement, but then swipes the greeting card right off the top of the arrangement. She’s unhappy with being unable to control herself. “What am I going to do with a card?” Carlos shows up, looking for Fernanda. Maribel asks for a hug, then steals his wallet. Carlos is on to her (again proving that not all galans are stupid), and she gives the wallet back, saying it must have fallen out of his pocket.

Diego and Lucero’s apartment: Fernanda goes to visit Lucero. Lucero hears her, but doesn’t answer. Fernanda says she needs her friend more now than ever. She needs to talk to someone who is not family. Lucero is afraid that Diego will hurt Fernanda if he catches her there so she doesn’t say anything. Fernanda is so wrapped up in her own problems (which, granted, are pretty big ones) that she fails the notice the giant padlock on the outside of the door.

School grounds: Diego gives an apple to the pretty red-haired girl that he’s set his eye on.

Pedro’s greenhouse: Marissa arrives and tells Pedro that she wants to talk about something other than Luis and Carlos. She wants to talk about the grandson that she and Pedro have in common. Pedro is taken back. He looks stunned, but there’s a bit of resignation in his face as well.

Hospital: Carlos wants to know how much Luis paid Ismael to set him up. Ismael tells Carlos that Marissa wanted to pay him off and was going to give him a permanent job in the bank. Carlos tells Luis that he’s not going to get away with it, and Luis tells Carlos that he doesn’t have the pantalones (pants) to do what he’s saying. (Maybe the captions were wrong. We’d use a stronger word in the U.S., and in Spanish, it would rhyme with pantalones.)

Pedro’s greenhouse: Marissa tells Pedro to look her in the eyes. “Why can’t my son know his father?” Pedro replies: “Because he left Fernanda alone for 2 years at the hardest time of her life. And he deceived her with Isabella.” Marissa tells him that it not true.

Hospital: Dr. Marco shows up and tells Pedro to leave because what he’s doing isn’t right.

Flower shop: Javier visits Fernanda there. She tells him that today she’s going to tell Carlos about his son. Javier sighs, but then he says this is good news. Fernanda says that although Carlos deceived her with Isabella, he is the father of Pedrito and has every right to know. Javier agrees, “Of course he has the right.” Fernanda says that she knows that Carlos is a good man and would never do anything to hurt her or her child. “Despite what he might have done with Isabella, this doesn’t make him a bad person.

Part 2:

Bank: Ordóñez catches Alicia (Luis’s secretary) removing documents. She tells she’s doing this at Luis’s request. Ordóñez says no, the documents are going into the bóvedo (vault).

Hospital: Ismael is there when Alicia delivers the news. Luis says that the documents are incriminating and will reveal their thefts and fantasy companies. “We are lost! We are the ones who are going to jail!”

Greenhouse: Pedro is telling his woes to a plant when Amelia shows up. She tells him that she didn’t want to go to the family dinner at Don Fernando’s house. She says she feels empty inside, like he does. Pedro says he doesn’t feel empty anymore; he has his daughter and grandson. Amelia tells him that she’s empty because she doesn’t have him. She tells him that she knows that there’s something between Marissa and him. Pedro says no, there’s nothing but a great friendship, and that he and Marissa have both had a one-and-only love, but that it has destroyed their hearts.

Altamira family dinner: Don Fernando tells Hernan that he’s OK with Camila having a boyfriend there. “Camila is a woman, not a child, and she needs our support.”
Marissa’s house: She calls Isabella a loca caprichosa and tells her that Carlos is never going to love her.

Pedro’s casita: Fernanda tells Pedro that she’s ready to tell Carlos about his son. Eventually Pedro gives her his blessing. After she leaves, he goes into the room with Pedrito’s crib and says, “I know your father is a good person, but it hurts to say that. Between couples there are no secrets. He’ll tell her who her true father is, and I’ll run the risk of losing my daughter.)

Marissa’s house: Ordóñez tells Carlos that he has information that can’t wait until the morning. Luis was removing documents from the bank, but now they have them in the vault.

Marissa says she also has something important to tell him … she talked to Pedro and Pedrito is Carlos’s son. She felt it already, but Pedro confirmed it.

Fernanda walks slowly down the lane to the house. When she arrives, Marissa tactfully leaves. Fernanda tells Carlos that she want to talk about something private and delicate.

“About what, Fernanda? My mother, your father, Maribel, your mother, your aunt, Farias … everybody knows but me.”

“What do you mean?”

“That Pedrito is my son. How would you expect that I wouldn’t find out when half the town knows it! I’m going to exercise my rights.”

Altamira family dinner: Don Fernando offers Vladimir a job in the construction company. Mariana protests that he’s giving jobs to half the world. Don Fernando counters, “I didn’t say that I was going to name him President.”

Vladimir protests, “I’m a musician,” and Don Fernando tells him that he can still play at night. Hernan says that he’ll need the money, looking at Camila. Vladimir takes the job, grateful that he will now have enough money to produce his record.

Marissa’s house: Carlos says that Fernanda has deprived him of 2 years of knowing his son, and he’s never going to forgive her. “I hope you understand that you’ve come too late.”

Fernanda tells him that he let Isabella form a part of his life, and she couldn’t do that because she was imprisoned for a crime that she didn’t commit.

“I’m not perfect. It hurts that you weren’t with me, it hurts what they did to me, and it hurts that my son didn’t have his father for all this time.” Fernanda says that all this makes her feel very bad.

And me also, Carlos says. “You’re jealous of Isabella, but I’m very jealous of Javier.”

“There has never been anything between Javier and me.”

“And this means …?”

“This means that I’ll be waiting for you to come early tomorrow morning to see your son. I’m sorry that I arrived too late. Goodnight.”

Aleta, great job!!

Odornez is my hero. He is the catalyst for driving a lot of this plot forward, and always for the good guys.

I am so glad that Luis and his I'm-on-the-side-of-the-highest-bidder PI buddy are going to be sweating bullets now that proof of their illegal deeds is in the vault.

I guess that Javier hasn't completely cured Maribel, or maybe she is just engaging in a little recreational kleptomania.

Of course, we know it won't last, but it was kind of heartbreaking that Carlos told Fer she had come too late. We know that won't last, of course, but she deserved better from him.

I am so glad that, whatever the circumstances, Carlos knows he has a bio kid.

Thanks again, Aleta. Great as always.

David

Wow Aleta, you covered every critical, important moment perfectly. Very, very well done.

"Carlos is on to her (again proving that not all galans are stupid)" made me smile.

"Pedro’s greenhouse: Marissa tells Pedro to look her in the eyes. “Why can’t my son know his father?” Pedro replies: “Because he left Fernanda alone for 2 years at the hardest time of her life. And he deceived her with Isabella.” Marissa tells him that it not true". I loathe Pedro.

"Pedro says no, there’s nothing but a great friendship, and that he and Marissa have both had a one-and-only love, but that it has destroyed their hearts". I don't hate Pedro.

I have such conflicting feelings about Pedro right now and am admittedly expending far too much energy trying to sort through them.

Pedro is as guilty of keeping Fernanda and Carlos apart as their extraordinary circumstances (jail and ill mother) were. He shunned Carlos and discouraged Fernanda from being with him, despite knowing how much she loves him. Not even the arrival of their child, his grandchild could soothe and tame his selfish ego.

Yet, Marissa with those pleading, tear laden eyes got to me. Is there any sort of hope for them? For everyone's sake, I hope it is possible.

I'm equally disappointed in Fernanda and Carlos. She certainly should have told him of her imprisonment (gotten word to him at the time), and I feel he is being unnecessarily hard on her now: "Carlos says that Fernanda has deprived him of 2 years of knowing his son, and he’s never going to forgive her. “I hope you understand that you’ve come too late.” Such bitterness. Let' hope this is a brief separation of affections. His ego is understandably bruised but I have confidence it will heal.

I'm looking forward to another Malquerida and Jav chat.

Also enjoying Luis' fortunes shift. Couldn't happen to a nicer fellow.

Thanks again Aleta!

Diana

Of course I mean Amelia with the tears, not Marissa.

Diana

Aleta--This was a very difficult episode with lots of dialog, some of it crucial, some of it not. You dealt with it deftly. Thank you.

My heart ached for Carlos last night. Horacio truly expressed the depth of Carlos' emotions in the aftermath of the revelations perfectly. With those red eyes, I can't doubt those were real tears welling up. Fernanda's reactions were also gut-wrenching. Enough of them, for now. So glad we got a nice mini-second advance which let me get a good night's sleep.

Has anyone noticed that Big Pedro *has* been given a new "luke?" Like I told everyone, I'm transferring old episodes to disc and I noticed that Jorge Aravena had a much shorter haircut in the early episodes and it was streaked a little with a few grey hairs here and there. His hair has been lightened and it is longer and softly curled. I hadn't noticed until now, when we got a good look at the back of his head. He's a stud muffin alright, just wish his character was a bit different. Although, I must say, he didn't throw tantrums when Marissa, Amelia and Fernanda told him that Carlos needed to be told about the baby. He seemed resigned to it and didn't try to stop Fernanda (by locking her in her room--as Hernan and Diego are trying to do).

Unfortunately he still seems to be single-tracking. He's afraid of losing Fernanda and now the baby to Luis. He's just as blind about Luis as Fer is about Isabela. What on earth makes him think that Luis could EVER win Fernanda's affections. Looks like troubled waters are ahead once Fer learns what he did to keep her and Carlos apart, but overall, her dislike and disinterest in Luis has been part of their conversations over time. What does Pedro think Luis will do? Lock her in a cage of gold and take her out to look at her once in awhile, especially when Pedro KNOWS Luis detests Fer with an uncontrolled hatred?

Now, if he decides to kidnap Little Pedro and keep him sequestered until after Don Fernando dies, then we have Cuando Me Enamoro all over again.

Please, someone, save Lucero. Aleta, I noticed, too, that Fernanda didn't even jiggle the padlock. Who puts a padlock on the outside of an apartment door anyway? That's what deadbolts and double locks are for.

Ah Aleta, thanks for that recap as it was a hell of an episode.

I agree that Carlos was a bit harsh with the 'too late' cry, but we know he is bi-polar when it comes to his declarations of 'it's over' whenever it pertains to Fernanda. He says he doesn't want to see her one minute and then 5 minutes later he is at her house. So I took last night as a well deserved (this time) rant.

It was pretty heart wrenching, too me, how he explained that he's missed two years of his son's life. I guess he's talking about bringing her ice cream and pickles at the prison because she was pregnant for almost one of them. (sorry, I got mixed up in the details)

Alicia surprised me last night. The music and her face made it look as if she was clueless as to the level of detail behind Luis' bank deals, but then she said something like...so what are we going to do? or whatever it was that makes her just as guilty. Good grief.

It really was rewarding to watch Isabella find out that Fernanda gave Carlos a child. For no other reason than she is annoying. He still doesn't love you (child or no child). What's wrong with you? They better not get a rabbit, she may boil it.

Of all the scenes that you wish that they WOULD skip over, the one with Amelia and Pedro had me rolling my eyes. I'm over it, I don't want to see it, I wish it would go away. I know it won't because she is trying so hard, but ugh! spare me.

Vladimir looks like he is about to run for the hills. A full time job and a family? This is not why I came to this house. My prediction is that that relationship has now met it's end all thanks to a job offer from Don Fer. Bye Vladi!

As much as Ordonez irritated me with Clarita, I'm still his biggest fan. It's like you can see him fly in with his cape after he used his x-ray vision to spot trouble from across town. I call you Super Oh!

Fantastic recap, Aleta - thank you! So much to catch and you did a great job.

I am firmly Team Carlos. If he were my kid, I'd tell him to ditch Fer and sue for custody. Fer kept a secret she had no right to keep and then let it get out to half the town in a way that was humiliating on top of it.

Of course, as Kendra noted, Carlos will cave, probably tonight. But I was proud of him for having a spine and using it for once. Horacio did a great job of conveying how hurt Carlos was (and should have been).

As for the rest, I'm horrified for poor Lucero and you'd think Fer would've noticed that there was a padlock on the outside. That seems strange, right?

Poor Vlad did indeed look scared.

Don Fernando, Marissa and Ordonez were last night's VIPs. They helped people and moved things along in positive directions.

Thanks, everybody!

I think that the writers could done a better job of justifying Fernanda's secrecy if she and Pedro had been afraid that Carlos would get custody because Fernanda had been in prison and Pedro had been in the mental health hospital.

Of course, that's being a Monday morning quarterback. I think the writers have done a pretty decent job so far.

Great recap Aleta! I haven't watched the ep yet, but already I can't wait. Dy, I'm with you on Carlos humiliation. Carlos hasn't done anything that every warranted this sort of betrayal. What started all of this was Fer calling and hearing Issy on the other end of the line. Fer has always jumped to conclusions despite having the proof over and over that Carlos loves her and only her. Fer has always doubted Carlos and believed her lying sack of shiz father over Carlos. Carlos and Pedrito were so wronged on this one and I hate Pedro especially for this. He kept Carlos from knowing his son, crucial moments lost such as first steps and little milestones. Carlos would be well within his rights to take that boy from her and forbid Pedro from being around that baby. I know he won't because Carlos is too good and kind especially when Pedro doesn't deserve a scrap of it. Marissa should have slapped that low life Pedro, but like her son, she has way too much class. Fer was in prison and that's sad for sure, but SHE decided how to handle things with her prison, pregnancy and Pedrito. It's all on her. Not Carlos.

I don't know why Amelia wants Pedro...from where I sit, the real hero and good guy in this TN after Carlos is Ordonez *Swoon*

dy we have lost all power so I have no TV or computer, therefore please fill in for me.

-David (via his eldest and best loved son)

No problem, David! I'm on it. Ugh that was not the episode to lose power on! Lots happened. Hope you get your power back soon.

THE ROLLERCOASTER THAT WAS EPISODE #93, Wednesday, July 13, Part 1

Filling in for David so may be shorter than usual due to shorter notes, and will combine some scenes. What an episode though!

- I missed the first few minutes - sorry. When I turned it on, Pedro and Fernanda were thinking to themselves about their current situation.

- The next morning, Pedro wants to talk to Fernanda about what happened. Before she can really fill him in, Carlos shows up for his visit with Pedrito.

- Amelia and Don Fernando eat breakfast and chitchat. He's reminded of her childhood and we see a childhood memory of Amelia. Amelia points out that he just gained back some more memories and happily comments that the treatments are working. Mariana and Hernan arrive for breakfast.

- Carlos plays with Pedrito and then asks if he can take the child for awhile. Pedro resists and they exchange words, or as my notes say, "Pedro is a jerk." Carlos calls out Pedro on all the concealing of what went on the past two years.

- Javier is going to invite Fer to do something. Malquerida is cleaning house and trying to give him good life advice.

- It comes out that Pedro lied to Carlos and told him that Fer had gone with Javier to Spain. Fer is not happy about this and obviously neither is Carlos. This does soften Carlos up towards Fer, though, and he asks her to go with him and Pedrito to take a walk and talk about everything. She agrees.

- At breakfast, Mariana pretends to be happy that Don Fer's treatments are working and that he remembers things. Hernan has asked Blanca to fetch Camila, but Blanca reports that Camila and her clothes are gone!

- Camila is carrying a suitcase up a very steep and scurvy looking alley staircase. She knocks on Vlad's door. Vlad answers but does not let her in and it's clear he does not want her in this neighborhood.

- Carlos and the kid play, adorably.

THE ROLLERCOASTER THAT WAS EPISODE #93, Wednesday, July 13, Part 2

- Don Fernando wants to look for Camila, but Hernan decides to let Camila fend for herself on the streets to teach her a lesson.

- Which she is learning, as Vlad tells her he doesn't want to be serious and live with her, and he can't see her living in this neighborhood anyway. Basically, he dumps her and Camila cries.

- Carlos and Fernanda are having a blast playing with Pedrito in the woods. Carlos tells her that he wants them to be a family and she is into it.

- I missed some of this part, but basically Pedro talked to himself and Rosaura and he is feeling very guilty as he should.

- Carlos and Fernanda start their serious relationship talk and they bring up the various lies. Fer makes poor Carlos defend himself about the dumb call with Isabela one more time, and he promises her that she is and will be the only one for him. Fer is touched and they have one of their amazing kisses while the theme music swells.

- Don Fernando and Blanca call on Pedro. At first, it goes nicely, but then Don Fernando regains the memory of being told that Amelia was having Pedro's baby and he's upset.

- Carlos and Fernanda declare their love for each other and return to playing with Pedrito.

- Don Fernando basically wants to kill Pedro and Blanca is at her wits end trying to calm it down.

- Camila is leaving the steep alley and sees a police bust.

THE ROLLERCOASTER THAT WAS EPISODE #93, Wednesday, July 13, Part 3

- Carlos and Fernanda take a selfie with Pedrito. Then, Carlos asks Fernanda to marry him. Pedrito says "Si." It's charming. But then Carlos' phone rings before we get a real answer. Carlos tries to ignore it but the person keeps trying to call him, so he answers. It's Javier, who has arrived outside Pedro's house and hears all the commotion with Don Fer and Pedro.

- Don Fernando has gotten himself so worked up about Pedro and the past family dramas that he has what looks like a heart attack! Javier overhears this and tells Carlos and Fernanda to get back ASAP. So they do.

- At the hospital, Carlos and Dr. Arteaga administer to Don Fernando.

- At their house, Pedro asks to speak with Fer after Pedrito goes down for a nap. He admits the various mistakes he's made and I believe she gave him a little what-for but forgave him. (I had trouble understanding what they exactly said, so please fill in!) Fer does ask him to stop being awful to Carlos and tells him Carlos proposed. Pedro asks if she accepted, and Javier comes up and asks her this too.

- Camila returns home, tail between legs and suitcase in hand, and Mariana is her not-so-welcoming committee. Mariana makes fun of her, Camila snaps back and Mariana loses it and gets furious at Camila. I believe she told her to leave (but please correct me if I'm wrong on that).

- Camila is back on the streets with her suitcase and meets two tough-looking street kids. They chitchat...

- Fer doesn't respond at first to the proposal questions, but she tells Javier that she loves Carlos. Javier gets a little huffy and reminds her of the call to Isy. (OMG can we just drop this Isy call.) Fer replies that she believes Carlos and while she's not sure if she will say yes to the proposal, she wants to be happy and at peace with Carlos and Pedrito.

- Carlos calls at that moment to tell Fernanda to get to the hospital quickly, as it's not looking good for Don Fernando. UGH.

- Amelia is at Don Fernando's bedside - urging him to live.

No show tomorrow; instead Premios Juventud is on. Going to be a live one Friday but the avances were very spoilery, so I shan't summarize them.

So yesterday, I was ready to throw Fer to the wolves and today I'm glad those two crazy kids worked it out. They just needed to talk it out, I guess. And I had forgotten that Pedro did lie to Carlos and tell him that Fer was with Javier. For the long term, it would be good if Carlos and Fernanda dumped their tendencies to judge and jump to conclusions.

Poor Don Fernando. I hope he makes it.

Great recap Aleta. I don't think that carlos was all that hard on fer. She had plenty of time to tell carlos about the baby after he came back, but she chose not to. He was pissed and rightly so. But now, the love is back. She better say "yes", somebody need some happiness in this show. Also glad he outed pedro about the lies he told about her goin to spain with javier. Now she need to tell him about the lies he told about him cheatin with hair on a stick when she was about to be sentenced to prison for ten years, now that was cruel.

I tell ya little pedrito is the cutest little boy I've seen in a long time. Im glad theyre back together again. Tho they may have to fight for it, javy didn't like what he heaed when he walked and heard about the proposal. And then he brought up the lie pedro told. (Put that lie to rest please). He did not cheat with isabella. Pedro lied. In the words of the frozen one "Let it go".

I hope don fer survived this. He needs to know the truth. Why didn't they tell him? he might not have had the heart attack.
I like what the advance showed, but we gotta wait cuz no Un camino tomorrow :-( thanks Aleta:-)

Holy cow, dy, without any forewarning and on the fly, you had this up by 9:41 and you did it better than I ever could. I am in awe of your skills!!

When we lost power, I was wracking my brain on how to alert you that I was out of the picture, and finally hit on the idea of calling my oldest son, telling him how to get on the website, and dictated the alert message, which he then posted for me.

And what an episode you described! So glad to hear that our main couple are sort of back on track to the point that Carlos proposed to Fer.

It sounds like Don Fer's memory recovery is working against him if he is now remembering things that upset him to the point of having a heart attack.

So glad that Pedro has been outed on some of his awful lying to both Fer and Carlos.

Sounds like Camila is getting a little lesson in tough love, although coming from Hernan, I might call it tough indifference.

Thanks again, dy. You are great!

David

Awesome and a big thanks dy

Thanks, dy, for stepping up to the plate. Much appreciated.

Hi Nina, that was dy who did last night's recap, so she deserves your thanks. I did the one for Tuesday's episode.

Looking forward to Friday's show.

Thanks all - appreciated! It's easier for me to do recaps right after the show, both time-wise and memory-wise. David, did you get your power back?

Nina, I so agree that they should've told Don Fernando the truth about his own child and grandchild, but we are dealing with Pedro here, not exactly a truth teller, that one. And great point that it's time to tell Carlos about the lies Pedro told about Isy and Carlos. (Although Isy helped that along by lying to Fer too.)

Yes, dy, we got it back late last night. Thanks for asking

David

dy - you were all over that one! and in record time...how in the world? Bravo!

All, I'm going to give Pedro a teeny tiny fraction of a break (based on dy's comment about). I had forgotten something.

Pedro went to Don Fer's (not sure why) looking for Luis to tell him that Fer was his daughter. Mariana told him that Luis and Carlos were in the US with Marissa and Isabella doing a couples vacation or something. Pedro knew Marissa was ill so he didn't want to believe it but he took the word of a lying liar who just put his daughter in prison (by lying) and then relayed that message to Fer without disclosing the writer (she also had help from Camilla at the trial with this story).

Now, the fact that Carlos had been calling and then flew back and Pedro fed Carlos a lie that made him stop looking for Fer is totally on him.

I'm so glad that Carlos told Fer last night all of this. I wasn't with Isy and your father told me you were in Spain when I came a calling.

The family outing was so cute and lil Pedro told his mommy that it's ok to marry my daddy. Cutest stuff.

Camilla getting the tough love (in the normal way) was appropriate. Don't leave unless you know you have somewhere to go. Impulsive.

I too, was upset by Pedro and Blanca not correcting Don Fer. Why? He is still holding on, but now it's too Fer. He has no reason to lie for Amelia anymore, but he let this man still believe that he was the one that ruined his daughter. good grief.

I didn't finish my thought again. dy's comment about Isy helping facilitate the lie by lying to Fer also.

Dy--Expecting a witty recap from "Anonymous" (aka David), I was surprised by a terrific, yes, on the fly, but down to earth recap. You amaze me.

I thought the bonding scene between Carlos, Fer and Pedrito went on a little too long, then, after reflecting, changed my mind. We needed to see that it was the 3 of them bonding and there was no holding back or more recriminations from Fer. It was a sweet, joyful encounter and it was obvious the real Little Pedrito enjoyed it as much as the real Carlos.

It worries me that Javier is sticking his nose in after all this time to try to derail this couple and their child. He needs to move on and maybe move on out, Demetria notwithstanding.

I can't tell if Marissa is off the Izzy booster squad or not. Surely by this time she should know the difference in personalities between Fer and IzzaJezzebel.

A little trip into the past: In the episode where Carlos has flown of to Spain, Marissa ponders on that subject and admits Fer seems to truly love Carlos and had never seen Carlos as affectionate with Izzy as he was with Fer. It's odd, on watching it again, that she went on and on to Rosario about cultural and social differences and Fer being uneducated when she went to the same school Marissa had attended and came out with the highest marks EVER (to quote Rosaura).

That's all to say that Izzy still has a few tricks in her bag, to be sure, and will try to use them on Carlos and Fer.

That baby is in danger from Mariana, Luis and Izzy.

Yes, Anita...in the flipping back into the past I thought it was odd that Marissa said this about Fer. Fer was on scholarship (as so many kids with and without a lot of means to attend private schools or universities). She was told that Fer went to the exact same school that she, herself, attended. It was really irritating to me that she would say that about her education.

Marissa's desire for IzzaJezzebel (lol, thanks Anita) to be her daughter-in-law probably played into that blindness. Yes, she carries herself in a presentable manner, but that chick is bat sh** crazy! Who do you want for your son?

Since there isn't an airing tonight, I will take the time to tell Aleta that I can take Monday if she has Tuesday. (When you see this Aleta let me know - thanks)

Wow Dy (bowing) you are one skilled recapper! That was awesome and so quick as others have mentioned.

I'm really annoyed at how easily Pedro's lies were handled. Maybe Fer hasn't really had time to process it all but Pedro deserves more than a few tears. His behavior may not be to the depth of Luis, conspiring to have Fer and Carlos both thrown in jail, but Pedro has done his own vile damage to Fer and Carlos and even Pedrito. Pedro lied, manipulated and blocked any and all chances for Fer/Carlos to be together and for Pedrito to have his father from the very beginning. I think it would be very hard for me to forgive a parent right away for such horrible lies and betrayals. I would eventually but they would be cut off for a time for sure, while I sorted and regained my life back. Pedro has gotten off way too easy and if the writers are trying to paint him as some loving sympathetic character who is noble, they failed with me.

I'm happy that our couple is back on. Pedrito deserves to have his mother and father together. I can't wait to see how Paco feels having a little brother.

Poor Camila, her life really hasn't turned out so great. She needed a harsh dose of life, it's time to grow up and start owning her choices and where she is headed.

I don't feel like Don Fer is long for this world...poor man. I just hope that Fer can tell him who she really is. I don't want Don Fer dying without knowing the truth, that his beloved grand daughter was with him all along.

Simply fab Dy! Thanks again.

dy77, your wonderful recap has made my day.

Like others, I am in awe of your ability to recall the details so well and with crystal clarity.

I loved your comment that Fer and Carlos just needed to discuss everything out in the open. And away from Pedro's prying eyes...

My heart went out to Don Fer. I remember thinking how I despised him early on. And come to think about it, I despised Amelia too. What a difference time has made. Repentance and growth. And perhaps forgiveness.

Interesting how Amelia forgave her father so quickly for how he treated her, casting her out. But contemplating it further, she never really did hate him. She internalized the anger and saddest of all, vented it on Pedro and Fernanda the people who loved her most.

More Jav and Malquerida please. They are quickly becoming my second favorite couple.

Diana

Anita, You're right. A kidnapping seems to be a requisite for every telenovela, and we haven't had one yet.

Aw thanks again :)

Aiyiyi Aleta, I fear you are dead on about the kidnapping thing. It is the usual norm.

Diana, great insights on Amelia and you actually made me finally sympathize a little with her.

Pedro on the other hand, everyone is right. He's getting off way too easily.
