Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 22 (Jul 18, 2016) 1st Half

Apologies for not attending to Caray Camino business. I didn’t get a new page up for the second half of the week, but we were unceremoniously dumped for a Univision spectacular—as though Un Camino isn’t spectacular enough. It was enough to confuse me. This new page will serve until this coming mid-week.

Now, where were we? Some of us are feeling more sympathy for Amelia, some much less sympathy for Pedro, none for Luis, sorry Alicia was dragged into his malfeasance, happy that Little Pedrito has two parents to play with, worried about Javier’s intentions, expect Camila to become a street kid, cautious regarding Marissa’s health and state of mind and seriously concerned about Don Fernando’s most recent crisis, but mostly we wonder what will IzzaFreeza do next. Seriously, it’s about time she got a new “luke,” everyone else has.

Hola Patio Pals, this will be a condensed recap, due to a last minute trip I had to take up to Seattle. I was able to watch but it may not be as detailed. I apologize.

Friday 7/15/16 Part I

Amelia begins our episode pulling at viewerville’s heartstrings as she pleads to her father to not leave her. She’s sure he hears her and she wants him to know that he has the family he always wanted a beautiful granddaughter, a princess he would be proud of. A granddaughter who already loves him and this is why he must fight.
Meanwhile out in the hallway Carlos and Dr. Artaega deliver the sad prognosis to Meanie, Hernan and Blanca that Don Fernando is in grave condition. They should prepare themselves for the inevitable. Meanie and Hernan actually look upset.

Fernanda has come to see her “namesake: and she sits at his bedside holding his hand; wishing that she could save him. It’s such a large world but small too. Of all the people she could meet in school it would be Camila and of all the places she would come to work it would be at his house. This is why she can’t hold too much grudge against Camila for what she did, because the greatest thing she ever did was bring Fer to her grandfather. She is grateful for the time that she was blessed to know him. The fun times they shared in his room, the internet lessons, playing her violin for him and their mutual love of astrology. Those are special things that only they share. She knows if she had him from the beginning of her life he would have been the best grandfather ever. She doesn’t want him to leave but if it’s time then she wants him to know she will carry him always in her heart and honor him by being the best Altamirano she can be. She plays her violin full of emotion and tears one last time for Don Fer. Truly touching scenes and great work by PG.

At the same hospital Luis lays it on thick to Marissa that his brush with death has made him realize how much he loves her. Marissa isn’t buying it, what she wants is for him to drop the charges against her son. Luis says he has no beef with Carlos, but her son on the other hand hates him and his buddy Solorzano is honest. He saw the whole thing and he says it was Carlos.

Meanie is pressed that Fer would have the nerve to spend some time with Don Fer. Amelia doesn’t get the problem after all that his Fer’s grandfather.

Friday 7/15/16 Part II
Solorzano comes to pay his busted up buddy a visit. Luis complains that he’s running out of time. He can’t get anywhere with Marissa she’s too wrapped up in her son and she wants him to retract the accusation against Carlos. Well Solorzano says just put it on him, tell her that Luis had nothing to do with it. Luis said he’s tried, but it’s not working and they have to do something before all their funny business at the bank is discovered. The documents Ordonez has locked up will sink them for sure. Solorzano wishes he could get his hands on that guy. Luis says well why don’t you? Ordonez is going to guard those papers with his life not leaving them at the bank; and we need to get those papers or we are going to jail! Solorzano says he’s on it! He hires a guy to trail Ordonez and moments later photos come back showing Ordonez carrying a box to his car. Luis confirms the box that holds the incriminating docs and Solorzano orders the goons to proceed ahead. They follow Ordonez! They run him off the road and at gunpoint order him out of the car. Once he’s out, one of the goons hops behind the wheel and drives off leaving Ordonez stranded on the side of the road. He realizes that this wasn’t your typical robbery for a wallet and cash. This was Luis Montero’s handiwork!

Back at the hospital Solorzano and Luis chuckle at their success and Luis wishes he could have seen idiot Ordonez face! He would toast with a whiskey! What’s that? Voices! He hears Amelia and Meanie arguing. Ah It’s the beautiful Altamirano family. Yeah Solorzaon says, they brought the old man. It was an emergency. Well he’ll out live everyone Luis says amused at the whole situation and the arguing he overhears in the hallway. Who are they fighting about? Solo asks now intently listening. Oh that scammer daughter Amelia had with the gardener. Mariana doesn’t like her either! The voices outside grow louder. You were nothing when Luis Montero got you pregnant and left you! Meanie growls. Amelia tells her to shut it. Luis puffs his chest at the mention of his name. Luis Montero, dude I’m always their subject! Meanie continues… What were you thinking Amelia? That Fernanda would be special because of who her father is? Well daughter of that poor chump Pedro, Luis says to Solorzano. But no, you had to give her Luisa for her father and Fernanda for her grandfather, oh how ridiculous! Cue Luis Montero’s face cracking as his Jerry Springer moment hits him. Don’t you get it Amelia, no matter how much it hurts.. Luis is never going to accept that girl, the scammer as his daughter. Cara impactada! Luis Montero you are the father!!!

7/15/16 Part III

At that moment Don Fer flat lines and Fer cries, asking her grandfather’s departing spirit seen crossing tracks, to please stay a little longer for her and her son. If it’s time, then go in peace and with dignity. Don Fer’s spirit lovingly looks back. He always knew she was his granddaughter. Waaaaah!!

Luis who is reeling wants to speak to Amelia, they have a….? Solorzano tries to calm him. Luis struggles to get up but it’s painful.

Carlos and the team of doctors come in to find an inconsolable Fer draped across her grandfather’s lifeless body. Carlos gathers her into his arms while depositing a kiss goodbye on Don Fer’s forehead. He takes her away before the sheet is draped over Don Fer.
Hernan tries unsuccessfully to reach Camila to alert her of Don Fer’s passing and funeral. He complains to Meanie that his calls go straight to voicemail. Camila it seems is still on the streets and she’s going to a party with some girl. They complain about bills and money. Cami wanted to live with her boyfriend but oh well it didn’t work out. She mentions something about a guy named Simon who deposits money weekly to her. A sugar daddy?

The funeral proceeds and everyone is dressed traditionally in black. Pedro is his usual tacky self….jeans and a tight faded black tee. I don’t see either Amelia or Marissa with this guy.
Luis demands to be released but the doc says no go licenciado. You are still in danger and all this excitement can cause damage. Well I don’t care I have to get out of here now. He tries and is struck by pain. The doctor lectures that a few more days and he can leave. Luis is not amused.

Amelia bids her father farewell, she doesn’t have any grudges or regrets, he was a wonderful father. Fer knows one day she will see him again and she will run to his side. He will be full of energy, he was but a young person in a tired body. Carlos thanks Don Fer as well. His mother gave him life, his father made him a man and Don Fer made him strong and valiant, taught him to fight for what he wanted. He will miss him.

Blanca recalls the years they spent together. She came to work for him as a girl and now she is an old woman. She does not say goodbye or grieve her boss, but a friend and companion.

Pedro thinks to himself how grateful he was that Don Fer took him in as a young boy and gave him a job. He holds no grudges.

Meanie grieves sincerely, she always wanted her father dead. She has anger in her heart, she thought she wanted his money, but all she ever really craved was his love…and ok..a bit of money too.

7/15/16 Part IV

Amelia comes to tell Fer it’s time for the reading of the will. Fer has no desire to hear about it, but Amelia says it’s the last thing they can do for Don Fer. Fer grieves for her grandfather and nothing in that will can take away her pain.

Blanca and Meanie have the usual bickering. All Meanie wanted was money, Meanie wishes Blanca would go away, but Blanca says fat chance, she’ll be there to care for Amelia and Fer who will most likely be in that house now.Meanie doubts her father left the girl anything, but her face says she may suspect he did.

Luis gets the get up and go papers from the docs. Issy who is hanging around as usual wonders what the rush is. Luis says he’s got stuff to do, he going to clear things up with Marissa. He needs money so he can keep his daughter in the lifestyle she deserves. Daughter? What daughter?

Pedro is at his house doing some repairs, while yammering at Pedrito. Knock knock..who’s there? Why it’s Luis Montero. Hello gardener….I’ve come to see my daughter!

Fin

Feel free to fill in what I may have missed or left out.

Delilah, a treat, as always. So descriptive and comprehensive.

When don Fer passed, it reminded me of Edwin Stanton's comment when Abe Lincoln stopped breathing; "Now he belongs to the ages."

I have the feeling that had Fer known don Fer in his heyday, she wouldn't have come away with such warm feelings about him. It was only because her interaction with him was when he was addled and impotent with age that she saw a kinder, sympathetic, appreciative man.

Although Solorzano and Luis seem to be winning at the moment, they remind me of the Keystone Kops.

I thought everyone's thoughts and comments at don Fer's grave site were remarkably forgiving considering what he had done to all of them.

Ah, we have the reading of the will coming up! But which will will it be? This should be rich going forward.

Luis showing up at Pedro's demanding to see HIS daughter and realizing that Pedrito was HIS nieto was rich, and was obviously the very thing that Pedro has been troubled by since Fer's birth. Unfortunately for Luis, when Fer finds out about this, Luis will get his ass handed to him. I think that the more mature, tougher Fer will light into him with all the furry that a lifetime of abuse has built up. He may try some legal shenanigans to win access to her and Pedrito, but Luis has broken one of the cardinal rules of life; "Choose your enemies wisely."

Thanks so much for this, Delilah.

David

Delilah: Thank you very much for the recap.

RIP Don Fernando :(

David: I'm hoping that Fernanda has the fire instinct in standing up to evil Luis, Meanie & Co.,

Looking forward to seeing how Amelia, Pedro, Marisa, etc., are going to do now.

I love it Delilah!

"Luis lays it on thick to Marissa"

David, I am with you, Fernando was a nasty piece of work and both his daughters a chip off the block.

Agree PG has been great in every scene throughout but I just couldn't buy the hospital bedside weepfest over an old man she didn't really know. I mean, she did a stellar job, I just don't believe Fernando deserved it.

I thought Blanca would confess she had been in love with the old guy for years.

Sure, she pushes back a little but Marissa melts every time Luis lays it on thick. While she wants Luis to let up on Carlos and bitches a bit to there are no negative consequences for him if he doesn't. She still won't divorce or stop supporting him and at worst neutral. She argues for Carlos but in the end does not choose sides.

tofie was a happy girl Luis discovered Fernanda his daughter and happier still the first person he tells is Pedro. Ruh Roh

Tofie: Just when you think things couldn't go wrong for Pedro, here comes Devil Incarnate Luis, who's rubbing it in!

Delilah--You made me cry a second time with your description of Don Fer's funeral. Darn it. But you put enough humor in it to make me smile--especially describing Pedro's funerary tackiness. I was also surprised Fer wore white tennis shoes. She does have a pair of fancy black heels--she wore them at graduation (I know, because that's the episode I'm saving to disc right now).

I especially liked these touches: "Solorzano comes to pay his busted up buddy a visit." AND "Cue Luis Montero’s face cracking as his Jerry Springer moment hits him." AND " I don’t see either Amelia or Marissa with this guy [Pedro]." AND "... but all she ever really craved was his love…and ok..a bit of money too."

Yes, the reading of the last testament should provide further hijinks with the dueling wills. Mariana's or Iggy's. Which reminds me to say--how stupid a normally not stupid man like Lic. Ignacio Ordonez could be, removing the box of documents without some security guard to accompany him. How is it that he could take the documents out of the bank anyway. He and Marissa should have gotten together over that. Oh, well, if he had been able to keep the box, all the fun would be over--Luis in jail and the story shortened by 25 episodes. I'm dying to know now, what or who will be Luis' downfall.

At last Luis knows Fernanda is his and not Pedro's. The last time Pedro and Luis were together alone, Pedro gave Luis a great beat-down. It wouldn't take much for him to do it again, but I think Pedro will try some other method--can't wait to see what that might be. He will need Ordonez or Felipe (gaah) to help him with the legal matters if Luis decides to press him on it, but, a la Jerry Springer, Maury Povich et al, bio-dads do have some rights--along with responsibilities. If a judge decides to impose Luis' rights, won't it cost Luis a pocket-full of change in child support for 20+ years? He knew he'd impregnated Amelia and walked away from her, no matter what story she told him later. All he would have needed was a court ordered DNA test. So far, all we know of Luis' desire to "know" his daughter is for the impending fortune she's supposed to inherit. It's not at all certain he would benefit now, with EITHER will.

tofie--You are so on point about Marissa. I haven't been able to figure her out, keeping Luis around and not really making any progress to get her life straightened out--I think you are right. I thought maybe she's smarter than we think she is and is keeping him close in order to keep an eye on him.

Delilah, lilting and lovely.

So many wonderful comments but "Cue Luis Montero’s face cracking as his Jerry Springer moment hits him" described the situation perfectly. I have to give Rene Strickler credit. A gamut of emotions - shock, awe, pain, fear and resolution flashed across his face convincingly and fleetingly.

I thought the reaction of Don Fer's family was the ultimate in acceptance and forgiveness. Don Fer had indeed changed since his "heyday" as you pointed out so well David. He made many mistakes and treated his family shabbily at best. Yet, he mellowed and changed over time and realized his mistakes and his wish to make amends. A kind, savvy and caring persona replaced the angry, snobbish, vengeful persona. Yet, his family (sans Mariana)loved him for who he was, warts and all. Fernanda and he made an immediate connection, perhaps because of the call of the blood. It was there and her anguish was real. Her heart was broken. I was shocked at Mariana's real sadness. I do believe that she did just want her father to love her but she will never have the opportunity now to tell him what she wanted and to receive the assurances she so desperately needed.

Pedro's worst fear of "losing" Fer is now realized. I feel no pity for him. I am reserving it for Luis once Fernanda confronts him. I hope she leaves his emotions in shreds. He deserves to be alone and stripped of happiness which is just what he did when he tried to shred Fer and ruin her life. Imagine, a powerful man seeking to destroy an innocent, young girl for a perceived slight.

"Pedro is his usual tacky self….jeans and a tight faded black tee. I don’t see either Amelia or Marissa with this guy". Yes. Did he not have a pair of black jeans he could wear? Also Anita, I noticed Fer's white sneakers too and thought it a shame she didn't wear another pair.

Ordonez made a misstep but he is still one of my favorites. I'm counting on him to shut down Luis once and for all and to sweep Marissa off her feet.

Delilah, thank you. Another exceptional summary. I enjoyed everyone's comments today too.

Diana

Delilah, how much more detail could you have given? You got it all from what I could tell. I too, enjoyed some of the quotable noted by others.

This episode annoyed me some. I was trying to rap my head around the drawn out hospital scene with Fer and Don Fer but I couldn't. It just went on for hours and (I agree Delilah) with a man she barely knew and really didn't want to know as grandpa. It was extra. The stupid car theft with a box that he's had for days...where were you going with it? You had plenty of time to have it settled.

The funeral. Don't get me started. I will just echo the sentiments from you all.

Luis overhearing and reacting to Fer being his daughter - now that was worth the price of admission!

Great job Delilah. And RIP Don Fer

Delilah, remarkable recap. Amelia, and fernanda's talk with dad and grandad was beautiful. As much as they wanted him to stay they lovingly let him go. I really wanted him to stay until he learned the truth about everything. Fernanda's Perternity, what pedro did for amelia so fer wouldn't be born Illegitimate, how much love she and amelia got, unconditional love from this poor gardener who could have left amelia to fin for herself. Ok Im seeing pedro need some forgiveness. I don't know what's going to happen between him and Louy the leech but that's going to be some interesting must see TV next week.

Speaking of the leech, who the hell does he think he is coming in there claiming "HIS"daughter. This might be a good time for pedro to loose it, and beat the crap out of him, but not in front of the baby. And when he was in the hospital he's saying that he has to talk to Marissa because he needs money so he can help his daughter live the lifestyle that she deserves, is there some kind of law South of the Border where the adult parents still have a say in the grown-up adult child's life? Because this man is trippin if he thinks that Fernanda is going to want to have anything to do with it sorry dirty rotten low-down "ASS". I don't usually talk like this, but OMG. Is he serious? His daughter. I can't wait to see fer light into his sorry behind. But yall know what? She may not have to do nothing, theres carlos, theres amelia, theres pedro, theres marissa, theres ordenaz, there is even javier, might want a peice of that jerk too. So many comin after that jackass. O and he better not little peddy!!!
as far as I'm concerned I will have no doubt that he will have no daughter or grandson because he disowned them a long time ago, he don't deserve nothing but a good ass whipping, and alot of jaill time, him and his stupid sidekick, they should get adjoining cells.

Delilah this one pulls on the heart strings. Girl you done, good great recap

Thank you Delilah! Especially given that you were traveling.

Pedro is still the worst for me between the funeral attire and the fact that the funeral wouldn't have happened if he had cleared up things for Don Fer.

I was weirdly touched by Mariana being honest with herself.

I agree, the Fer bedside chat went on too long. I'm sad that Don Fer died though. He had turned around enough for me. RIP Don Fer.

Looking forward to Monday's episode between a video I saw and the avances. Should be a good one.

Thanks all! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Nina you are hilarious! I agree with all of what you said! Louey needs a can of whoop ass opened up for him. I think he's got a big surprise coming when Fer tells him no thanks I already have a dad. As for money, I'm sure she will have plenty of her own. Luis is going to be one lonely chump in that cell.

Episode #95 - I combined a few scenes.
Part I. When the spit hits the fan!
Pedro is still hammering away (in that dark a** shack that looks like a backyard shed - nothing like that cute lil cottage that he claimed to have built with that beautiful picture window) while talking to lil Pedro when Luis knocks on the door demanding to see ‘his’ daughter. Pedro reminds him that he doesn’t have a daughter, but Luis is not trying to hear it. Pedro then confirms that he took on a family (raised, feed, clothed Fer) that Luis didn’t want so don’t come around here demanding that I return her like I stole your bike and you want it back. (that’s how it sounded to me) Then Pedrito says “abuelo” and Luis perks up asking if that’s his grandson and then concludes that he is his grandson. Why in the hell did he say that?!! Didn’t anyone tell him that only Pedro has the deed to Fernanda-land and all the fertilized seeds that grow on said land? This sends Pedro in a rage. That’s my daughter and my grandson! Remember my daughter that you called a crook and sent to jail? Luis is still determined to find her if she is hiding under a rock. I’m going to ask for forgiveness and she has such a kind heart that I know she will forgive me. (Nah, Luis I doubt it – but you never know with this chick) Pedro is all – I protect mines. Carlos might not have killed you, but I damn sure will. BET ON IT! Pedro thought bubbles (damn! My worse fear has come to light)

Fer and Maribel are at the nameless flower shop talking about the arrangements for she did for Don Fer’s funeral and the wedding that Maribel is currently working on. Maribel is romanticizing Carlos and Fer’s love and Fer realizes that Maribel might be in love and then on cue – Javier arrives to pick up Maribel for their appointment. Maribel has goo goo eyes. (I will admit he has this European/rugged thing going on that’s kinda sexy so I get it Maribel)

Carlos and Iggy are at the bank discussing the closing of two branches thanks to that incompetent Montero. Carlos doesn’t want his mom to know – she’s too sick and Iggy agrees to withhold vital information.

Blanca is still at the gravesite saying a private farewell to her boo and asking him to watch over Fer.

Marissa is in her home office asking Carlos to tell her what’s wrong because it’s written on his face. Stop sugar coating the news and rip it off like a bandage. Carlos tells her that he and Iggy are freaking out enough for her and all of the bank employees so she needs to calm down and let them handle it. Marissa relents because she can actually trust him.

Part II

Pedro is sitting on his stoop or maybe it’s a stump (who knows at the tool shed) that he needs to tell Fer the truth, but how in the hell is he going to do it?

Luis is reminiscing about the good ole days. I almost hit my daughter with my car, got her rejected from her dream of attending the school of music, had her arrested on Pedro’s birthday, and sentenced to 10 years in prison. Ah such sweet memories. As he drowns in a bottle of (I’m guessing) whiskey with tears running down his eyes his host fur ball appears from her bedroom yelling at him to stop drinking because he’s on medication and just got released from the hospital. He don’t care. Leave me alone because I need my daughter. Isy wants him to shut up about this mysterious daughter that everyone lied to him about. Well, who is your daughter? (this confused me because the gardener and Amelia only have one and those are the people you just said lied to him – carry on) Luis says, you ain’t gonna like it Isy because my daughter is Luisa Fernanda. (Isy has stank face) What do you mean that poor girl is your daughter? Don’t you talk about my daughter! Isy is as confused as I am at this sudden defense of the girl that was his enemy just two seconds ago. That was two seconds ago…she’s my daughter now and you don’t want me as your enemy because you know what I do to them so back off beyotch. Isy tells him to get out of her house with that attitude. Then the doorbell rings and it’s Marissa! She wants to know what Luis is doing there. Marissa puts together that they were Bonnie and Clyde and runs up out of there after saying that he messed with ‘the precious’ (not sure why pointing a gun at her son wasn’t enough, but ok I shouldn’t get caught up in facts.) Luis tells Isy that she might as well let him stay because she just lost Carlos and Marissa – I’m an ally or an enemy – you choose? (where in the hell is her sister?)

Back at the Altamirano ranch, it’s the reading of the will. Of course, Mariana and Hernan have insults to throw around. Felipe is there to represent the Perez part of the will. The attorney begins to read the fake will that leaves everything to Mariana. So Mariana tells them they don’t have to go home but they got to get the hell out of her house. Just then – Look it’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s Super Oh! shows up with the real will and hands it to the attorney. No real authentication takes place (like the attorney who drafted the wills), but another reading takes place.

Camilla is having a good ole time at some hole in the wall bar drinking with her friends. She goes for another round of beers and then Vladi shows up all mad that she’s there. The guys try to calm him down, but he start to punch and they give the worse fake t.v. fight since the 70’s. Camilla freaks out at what’s happening and runs out of the bar. I guess we didn’t see that Vladi had a girlfriend (but we figured since he wouldn’t let her into his place) and Camilla found out about it because she is crying that she hurts everyone that tries to help her even the cheater.

While the reading of the will is taking place, Pedro is on the grounds of the school freaking out about it when Javier and Maribel show up to ask what’s wrong with him. He agrees with Maribel that the money would be nice for Pedrito so that Fer could take him far away from Luis Montero. Javier (like the rest of the world) want to know what in the hell does any of this have to do with Luis?

Part III

Don Fer has left his boo, Blanca, with the place at the beach and some money deposited into her account. Camilla gets money to finish school and an allowance to get started for a little while once she finishes. Hernan can keep his job to take care of witch and if they get a divorce then she’ll have a monthly stipend to live off. (Mariana thought bubbles a sarcastic thanks) Amelia gets to stay President of the construction company and manage all of his properties and Fer gets the rest. BOOM! Fer doesn’t want it and Mariana agrees she won’t get it. Amelia says she will and Mariana says she won’t. This is war! (I guess the past few years have been mini battles) Blanca tries to get them to stop fighting over money and offers the apartment to Mariana and gets talked out of it by Amelia. Fer and Carlos leave after telling old greedy that all she needs is the love of her baby, her man, her parents, and friends. Don Fer was my grandpa and I didn’t want him to be so I’ll have to live with that regret, but I’m out Aunt Bitch you can have the money. Now it’s time for Amelia to tell Mariana to get out of her daughters house. Bye Felicia!

Luis and his minion Solorzano are talking about Marissa forgiving Luis and staying on at the bank. Solorzano thinks it won’t happen, but Luis believes he has the magic stick that will cure whatever ails her. She’ll be alright and as a bonus, I will drop the charges against her son.

Carlos is walking Fer home and they are discussing how greedy those people are and Carlos reflects on his own situation. They talk about that Luis bastard, but her father is the best man in the world (repeating my sentiments of last week – eh?) Carlos can’t let go of his hate towards Luis as it’s so strong.

Fer is home and tells her dad how awful the reading went and how happy she is that she was born into a poor home filled with love and happiness. Fer plugs in the title ‘the gardener’s daughter’ and wants Pedro to never leave. Pedro says we aren’t eternal but Fer wants him to be Zeus or at least the Demi-God Hercules and live forever.

It’s morning and Clarita wants Marissa to eat so she can take her medicine. As Clarita leaves Luis comes into the bedroom declaring his love (ok this was the first time that I knew he was lying and it sounded like a lie – the other times I knew he was lying, but it almost sounded real) and that he will beat up Solorzano (LOL! You haven’t beat up anyone at all you punk) to get him to drop the charges against Carlos. After he says all of that Marissa serves him with divorce papers (really Marissa? NOW! Before he actually had the charges dropped?) that she wants him to sign now because she doesn’t want to be married to him another second. He rips them up.

Carlos and Fer are in their tree again and Carlos plugs in our show title ‘a path to destiny’ and that he wants her with him always and then Carlos has Fer look at a leaf where a very pretty ring is sitting. He proposes and she accepts! YEAH! Kisses, kisses, and more kisses. He wants to marry tomorrow, she wants to marry right now. He then (I guess a light bulb or rather a dark cloud goes off) tells her they can’t. She gets pissed and asks why not – why is there always a ‘but’ when it comes to us! He explains that he wants the trial to be over first because he is innocent and will be free – Fer says, rightfully so, I was innocent too. Fer agrees to waiting after the trial has ended but that they will be married immediately after. Carlos is in full agreement.

Pedro and Marissa are sitting in the grass talking about Luis and the divorce papers he tore up. Pedro slips that Luis is destroying both of them. Marissa calls him on it and he lies that he feels her pain as if it were his own. She asks if he’s telling the truth and he says yes – good grief lying liar. Pedro changes the subject to Carlos and Fer and no matter how he tried to keep them apart, they are determined to be together. (Pan to the newly engaged couple smooching in the tree.)

That's Monday's recap! Good night folks.

You're killin me Kendra and I love it.

(Isy has stank face) She did

it’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s Super Oh! He is

the worse fake t.v. fight since the 70’s It was

Speaking of Super Oh, why ain't a woman crushing on him?

Horrible as Pedro has behaved and deserves solitary confinement in his blood red shack, the guy will appear a saint compared to bio dad. Pedro needs to send Luis a thank you card.

I can't help it, Mariana is a hoot. MORE

Kinda see Mariana's point in contesting the will. She stuck with nasty Fernando all these years, her husband ran the company that generated income and all it took was Ameila's return to lose it all.

Uh, didn't see that coming. Maribel and Javier

Right when I chew Marissa a new one she chooses sides, wants to defend her son and finally divorce Luis. I'm with Luis though and have confidence she won't.

Kendra, your wry humor was inspired. Excellent recap.

"When the spit hits the fan!", "Stop sugar coating the news and rip it off like a bandage" and especially "... runs up out of there after saying that he messed with ‘the precious’ (not sure why pointing a gun at her son wasn’t enough, but ok I shouldn’t get caught up in facts)" were among many favorites.

One of my favorite moments was Marissa finally telling Issy to take a hike and (all too late in the game) filing for divorce.

Luis is stewing in his own pity. Those tears were cringeworthy, weren't they? He has inflicted so much misery on everyone else, this payback is well deserved.

I was shocked at Maribel's moondoggie eyes at Jav. Now with Malquerida, there was a definite spark and some interesting sparring. With Maribel? I like her but I'm sorry - there were crickets. No hint of any fireworks.

Bless Don Fer for taking care of Blanca. It was so obvious he cared so deeply about her and the feeling was reciprocated.

I'm blanking. Does Carlos know Luis is Fernanda's father? It will be interesting to see how Marissa takes the news. And of course Fernanda's reaction will be worth the price of admission.

I hope the newly reunited Carlos and Fernanda do not allow anything or anyone to tear them apart. They need to present a united front to battle Luis and other obstacles rearing their ugly heads ere the end.

Thanks again Kendra.

Hello patio people! Please forgive me I seldom comment on telenovelas that I watch but I appreciate all your comments. I'm just a lurker. Except for this time. I Need to rant! If there is one antagonist that I hate, it's Pedro, yes I consider him a contra vida. This putative father is worst than Luis . why his love towards Fernanda is almost incestous. He doesn't want anybody near her. And what kind of a father is he sending her to jail when all he had to do is stop the court and tell Luis he is the father. Why he doesn't want Fernanda to be happy just because he is unhappy. What a stupid stupid man. And a big liar. I hope Fernanda doesn't forgive him for the big lie. If she can't forgive her mother who is another liar then when all of these truths come to light, she should tell both of them to stick together and get the hell out of her life. Talk about child abuse! That's it. I'm calm now. Thank you very much. I enjoy your comments and recappers.

Kendra, what a great recap! Love it!

This line - "Pedro is sitting on his stoop or maybe it’s a stump (who knows at the tool shed) that he needs to tell Fer the truth, but how in the hell is he going to do it?" LOL, exactly, how in the world will Pedro ever handle actually having to tell the truth about something.

Way too much Pedro revisionism by Fer in this episode. Ugh.

I also agree with you and Maribel, Javier was goo-goo-eyes worthy last night.

I love when Carlos and Fernanda get in their tree and are happy. Diana, I don't think Carlos knows that Fer is Luis' kid. Right now the only people who know are Amelia, Pedro, Mariana, Hernan (if Mariana told him?) and Luis, so I don't think any one will step up soon and actually tell the truth on this!

Thanks, Kendra. You did such a great job on this recap! Thank you.

I love that Fer and Carlos are back together, but I am confused as to whether they resolved the concerns that Fer had.

I don't understand if Marissa revoked the power of attorney she unknowingly signed in Houston.

It was great to see Marissa hand Luis the divorce papers. He should have signed them and walked away, because I'll bet that was the best terms he could hope for.

I don't understand why a pre-existing will supersedes a later will.

So Mariana and Amelia are in a fight to the death. . . over MONEY? This should be fun to watch, and I'm putting my money on Amelia.

I'm still anticipating Fer's reaction to Luis claims of paternity. The fur will fly when that happens,

So, Isy is on her own, and her only port in the storm is Luis? Jeez, Isy, I don't like you, but surely you could have cast a better ending for yourself.

So, will Malquerida and Maribel have a knife fight over Javier?

Thanks again, Kendra.

David

Thanks for answering my question dy77. I wasn't sure...

Diana

Kendra, you're a snarkity snarkin girl, and so hilarious. "The furball host", "luis' magic stick", and "the stump of pedro", now that could be the name of another tn, "the stump of pedro", thats where he does his best thinkin. But he really should stop the lying game and tell the truth about the bio dad. Its gonna come out. And he should feel good about himself, like he told that bottom feeder, he took in a family that luis threw away. Maybe he forgot he told luis that a few minutes ago.

I really wish fer would take her inheritance, tho I do get why she don't want it, but after all the hell she's gone through, I'd Say she deserves that blessing. but she don't need to take it and take her son and run away like her chicken father suggested, they need to face them demons, and kick that evil woman whose blood also runs through her veins out of her house. Thats gonna be a nasty war, therefore they better watch little peddy, cuz auntee meanie is not above sinkin low to hurt that child. She is spittin fire mad. About money that she thinks belongs to her. People have killed other people for stuff like that. Granny amelia need to put her nastymeanie face back on cuz she gonna have to fight a nasty fight with big sis.

Camila is a mess!!! The End.

Marissa, girl, whats wrong wit you? Now you want a D-vorce? Again? She should have kept the first one going. It may have been over by now. She shot herself In the a$$. And shes livin to regret it.

Diana, I just recalled that maybe Iggy knows about Luis being the father too? I kind of recall that happening, but I'm not sure. He, thankfully, is not a secret keeper, but if he knows, he definitely hasn't told Fer or Carlos.

Kendra-WOW!! You were watching a comedy last night; I was watching drama. As comedy, with your retelling, it is hilarious. So many rip snorting zingers, I just can't mention them all, and the best have already been highlighted. Except I have to thank you for "Luis' Magic Stick." He is so sure of his seductive powers.

David--Carlos mentioned the power of attorney (again) to his mother. He told her it wasn't her fault, she was under sedation the day before a delicate operation. I guess this is something they could challenge, but for a good start, she should revoke it. Don't know why she hasn't. By declaring it done under duress, they could sue Luis for all he's lost to the bank.

Does anyone see part of Fer's inheritance going to Carlos and Marissa to save the bank? It certainly would be in her interests, too. OTOH, she so delights in being poor, doesn't she?

Yeah, why on earth didn't Marissa wait until the charges against Carlos were dropped. That tells me she has not fully recovered her faculties.

Diana and Dy--I'm pretty sure Iggy knows about Luis being the bio-dad. When he and Amelia were getting close, I think she may have told him, or he overheard a significant conversation.

As to the two wills. I think that is what the fight is going to be about. Amelia is sure that Mariana's will, written later, is fake. Luis was involved in the faking of the new will, but Mariana told him not to worry about it, she would get Don Fer to sign it. Now, I wonder what Luis is expecting to get out of the will if he supports Mariana--or will he work to protect himself. If Fer gets the bulk and he tries to step forward to manage it--to suck it up his nose, I don't think Fer will allow it, so Luis did everything for naught.

Maribel is going through what some female patients go through with handsome young psychiatrists. They fall in love with them. The doctors call it transference, I think. I'm not sure why Javier showed up to pick Maribel up--they didn't make it clear if it was a date or an appointment. Javier needs La Malquerida more than he needs Maribel for his own happiness.

Poor Camila, she doesn't even know Don Fer is dead.

I was wondering if anyone of the writers would remember Luis ruining Fer's chances at being admitted to music school. Apparently Luis did!

And what about Mariana's having the brake lines tampered with and the subsequent accident killing the driver and maiming Amelia and hurting Fernanda? I wish that weren't so far in the past that it couldn't factor into Mariana's downfall. (However, I'm with Tofie, Mariana is a hoot!)

Kendra--Thanks again for a marvelous recap. I'm sure there is a writer-de-verdad hiding somewhere inside you.

All the comments show we are still enjoying this show. Nice to see an Anonymous step out of the shadows. I'll let you all in on a little secret. Recappers get to see how many people visit our pages. Camino was so slow to build up an audience. Weeks would go by and only one or two new sets of eyes would show up in the totals. All of a sudden, every other day, 10 to 20 new hits show up in the totals. Of course, we're nowhere near what TVA gets in one night, but it is respectable and I'm more than happy to see so many people have gotten interested, even at this late date.

Anita, I'm happy more people are visiting. I hope folks will realize we are a warm, welcoming group and that newcomers will leave a comment when they stop by. I remember I was so afraid to post the first time (let's see, about 8 years ago now). But everyone made me feel a part of the group so quickly, I've been going ever since.

I believe the numbers are increasing because it is an excellent TN. Still, the summaries have been excellent and I've no doubt people want to enjoy them just as the rest of us do.

Diana

DY and Diana--Don't forget Blanca. She also knows who Fer's bio-daddy is.

Thanks all! I think most of our regulars have commented. I was glad to recap the proposal...yeah, me!

tofie - Super Oh? I have no clue why women aren't crushing on him. I sure would. I also agree that Mariana is funny. Sometimes I absolutely love her attitude. I too remember wondering why Don Fer wouldn't leave a bulk of his money to her as she has always been by his side taking care of him.

Carlos, Fer, and Marissa are probably the only 'main' characters that don't know that Luis is Fer's sperm donor. I don't even think that Marissa knows that Pedro isn't. Iggy found out because he started putting pieces together. Amelia lied about knowing Luis at the bank to Marissa, etc. It all came to a head when he asked Lupe out right and she finally confessed. (he is a bit of a bully, but I guess it's that attorney instinct and how he gets folks to confess - former cop maybe?)

Thanks for stopping by Anonymous - most of us have been pissed about that as well.

Nina - I want Fer to take her inheritance too. She demanded compensation for being falsely accused and spending two years of her life in prison.

Anita - I was thinking about Fer bailing out the bank too with her inheritance.

Thanks, Kendra. If I could do half the job with a recap that you did, I'd be happy.

I would think that both of Don Fernando's two most recent wills could be contested, based on his having been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Before that he probably left everything to Mariana, because Amelia was out of the picture at that time.

However you slice-and-dice it, Fernanda was truly a swindler, even though it was Camila's idea. Luis's crime was that he arranged for Fernanda to get a punishment far more severe than the crime. I think she only got enough money for a dress and a graduation trip. But Luis still deserves a big anvil for trying to kill Marissa at the spa and leaving her to drown in the pool.

Speaking of Camila, Vlad's actions at the nightclub show that he still has some feelings for her. I hope he survives the beating.

Despite what Fernanda said, her childhood wasn't so happy as the picture she painted ... not with grumpy Amelia withholding love and affection for 19 years.

I was thinkin that fer heard the yellin and screamin that was comin from the hall at the hospital between meanie and amelia. That she heard it the same time luis did, anout yet being his kid, but they may not have been on the same floor, and the door was closed when she was talkin to grandaddy.

Why haven't fer and carlos introduced the big bro to the little bro yet? These Are slow about doin stuff. Tellin the truth,
Puttin 2n2 together.
I'd like to see javy with malqueda ( I don't think I spelled that right, can't even pronounce it. I'll just call her "mal".
Wouldn't it be cool if vlad came from a mega wealthy family? And hes fallin for cami. Thst would make papa herny joyously happy. I thank he's depending on Mariano to win the war.}:-|

Thanks Aleta, after I re-read it I realized that I didn't comment on Fer and her poor but happy childhood. However, I think she is a product of Pedro (at that time) because no matter what Amelia did to them, they still loved her and protected her from others. (Remember the girls teasing after she just got slapped for being with Carlos, but she was going to hand out an ass-whipping to them anyway for calling her mother Ms. Quesadilla or whatever they said about Amelia)

I remember watching those earlier episodes and cringing at the love she was getting and the hate she was giving back. I still don't like Amelia. I don't think that I will ever like her. The only thing I credit her with is trying to repair her relationships, but she left a bad taste in my mouth (like the smell of skunk that won't go away no matter how hard you try and you've tried everything). It's just there!

Other than Paco and Pedrito, everyone on this show has pissed me off in some way.

Kendra--I kind of glossed over the poor but happy childhood, then I re-read and thought about how unhappy Fer was thinking her mother hated her and at one time Amelia told her she wished she'd never had been born. At least she had Sister Tia Madrina Rosaura as a sort of stand-in mother.

You said, "I too remember wondering why Don Fer wouldn't leave a bulk of his money to her as she has always been by his side taking care of him."

What I remember is that Don Fer explained it all. He was going to leave it to his (unknown) granddaughter because 1) Mariana had a "rich" husband who was going to provide for her; 2) he had no wish to leave Amelia anything for fear that no-good-so-and-so Pedro (or so he thought) wouldn't manipulate her and get ahold of the inheritance. He said this at a time when he was still fairly lucid. Mariana overheard and that's when she got the idea to rewrite the will in her favor. She felt she deserved it. I really don't blame her for wanting to be remembered in her father's will with more than a monthly stipend if she divorced Hermy and having to live off Hermy's salary, for which he depends on that job at the constructora.

Anonymous, you and I posted around the same time yesterday so I didn't see your Pedro rant, but I love it. Pedro is the absolute worst to me on a show that includes Mariana, Luis, Hernan, Isabella, the evil detective, the guy who shot Luis and pre-makeover Amelia when she was Bitchy Bangs. (Amelia has come a long way, but I know what Kendra means when she says Amelia left a bad taste in her mouth from the way she was at first). Back to Pedro, just a complete hypocrite and I love a good Pedro rant because I fire one off about every night to myself. I

Anita, I totally forgot about Blanca, and Kendra, thank you for filling in the gaps on who knows and who doesn't.

Hi everybody,

I'm so sorry. I forgot to post the recap before I left for work. I wanted to watch a couple of the scenes again this morning (I had a couple of blanks to fill in), but I totally forgot about it. It's my birthday and I'm a bit discombobulated today. I won't be getting home until late, but I'll post it tonight.

Happy Birthday Aleta!! You deserve some discombobulation in your life once in awhile. As long as it doesn't affect your sense of humor.

Not to worry about the recap. I will put up a new Page later this afternoon, since we are being edged out by Sueno, Yago and TVA. You can post it there.

Happy Birthday Aleta! Enjoy your day.

Yes, a very happy birthday Aleta!

Wishing you much happiness during the coming year.

Diana

HAppy birthday Aleta, have a blessed day girl you deserve it.♡♥♡♥♡♥ And have a blessed year to come. :-D
