Ambar stares at Yago in shocked silence after he tells her
his true identity (Omar Guerrero) and his true intentions (revenge). He says he
knows it’s hard for her to believe, as he reaches out to touch her. She jumps
up and away from him as if his touch burns, and says, yeah, it’s hard to
believe. She tells him that he and Sara are made for each other (son tal para cual); they’re both liars and traitors. Abel comes in and interrupts, asking if
Ambar is ok, but she flinches from his touch too and continues to stare daggers
at Yago. Yago says he’s sorry for everything and makes a quick exit.
Bruno is busy writing a blog page in honor of Alejandra,
when Matias comes into his room asking if he’s busy. “For you, never. Come in.” In response to his question, Bruno
explains that he’s writing a report on justice for school. Matias very
cynically says justice doesn’t exist. Bruno explains, “I’m not speaking about the justice they teach you in school, but that
which is inside you, that pushes us to make change.” Matias says he gets
it.
In voiceover, we hear what Bruno is writing on the blog: “Alejandra always searched for justice. Now
it’s our turn to find justice for her. Her death can’t be just another of all
the ones that go unpunished (impune) in this country. I won’t permit it to. I
say this as her colleague, her best friend, and her partner/boyfriend (pareja).
My love for her will be my greatest motivator.”
In Fidel’s lair, Katia is busy seeking justice for Alejandra.
She’s looking over the crime scene photos from Alejandra’s body dump site. Yago
arrives and she excitedly tells him how her contact sent her the forensics report
from the crime scene, and the best news is that the ballistics report shows
that the gun used to kill Ale matches the caliber of the gun she took from
Damian when she confronted him. Bingo! They just need to return the gun to
Damian’s room, so that the police can serendipitously find it and send the
bastard to jail. Yago is not as happy as he should be with this development,
and Katia picks up on it. He admits to Katia that he told Ambar the truth
because he doesn’t want to hurt any more innocents. Katia points out that he’s putting
the whole operation at risk, but Yago seems convinced he can manage Ambar. He
does admit that Ambar did not take it well. He asks Katia not to tell anyone
else what he did.
In a below street-level, hip, Jewish bar/café, Fidel and
Selma get the staff and planted patrons ready for the operation the next day—Julia’s
date with Selma. Fidel tells them to be ready for the worst. Selma tells them
to be discreet and keep calm. Julia may be the daughter of their enemy, but she’s
not their enemy. Those who are armed should watch her attentively, but don’t
jump the gun. Fidel tells them that no one shoots unless he orders it.
In Fortress Michel, Camilo is trying unsuccessfully to
convince Julia that she doesn’t ever need to go out, when she has everything
she could ever desire there. She tells him she has a right to have a life
outside of these four walls. He creepily tells her that he wants to keep her
encased in glass, and wonders what could possibly interest her in the outside
world. She throws out the name of the guy from the record store, Rodrigo.
Camilo doesn’t approve of that hippy. He thinks she deserves way better. (Well,
she’s not going to meet that perfect man trapped in the house with your army of
goons, Camilo!) Julia puts her foot down. She’s going out to eat with him
tomorrow. Camilo gives in. Dinner is fine, but he doesn’t want her committing
to this guy, and sure as heck doesn’t want her to end up pregnant (salir con tu
Domingo siete)! Julia teases that it might be too late, and calls him grandpa.
She then texts Rod and asks him for a favor.
Yago goes home to Sara and tells her he spoke to Ambar and
it didn’t go well. He tells Sara that now is not the time for her to speak to
Ambar.
Ambar is sitting on Abel’s stairs in her robe, still
silently trying to process what Yago told her. Abel wonders if she’s still
giving him the silent treatment (la ley de hielo), and begs her to speak to
him. She asks him what he thinks of Yago, disregarding what he did to her. Abel
admits that he’s never trusted Yago. His millionaire with a mysterious past act
never rang true with him. He believes he’s hiding something. Ever since he
came, things have started to go wrong, as if Yago is a jinx/bad omen (ave de
mal agüero).
The next morning, Yago is serving up a delicious breakfast for
Sara and bragging that the secret to a good breakfast is a night of great sex.
Sara heartily agrees. Sara tells him that Lucio will never sign the divorce
papers, especially since he now knows about them. Yago says he’ll have to
eventually understand and sign. Yago admits what he’s really worried about is
Matias, and that he’ll never be able to see him as anything except the
boyfriend of his aunt. Sara says he’ll accept him with time as he gets to know
Yago. Yago sadly says, “I don’t think he’ll
ever see me as he does Lucio. As his father.” Sara is moved. She tells Yago
that since they are starting a life together, she doesn’t want secrets between
them. She admits that Matias isn’t Lucio’s. Lucio knew since Matias was a baby,
but he never told her until recently and always treated Matias as if he were
really his. Yago tries to hide his surprise at hearing this. She continues that
Matias doesn’t know, and tells him that the real father is Omar, the son of
Melina and Jonas. She admits she’s never had the guts to tell them. Yago
suggests that she tell them, since they are his grandparents. They’re
interrupted by the doorbell. Sara answers. It’s Ambar, and she wants to see
Yago, NOT Sara. The two leave to speak privately away from Sara. Sara is not
pleased.
Abel tells Teo to step up pumping Katia for info on Yago. He’s
annoyed Ambar is now taking her meds again after a visit from Yago.
Katia lifts Camilo’s prints off the shot glass Yago filched
from his house, in order to use them to get into Camilo’s secret chamber. Fidel
comes in and notes that now they are ready to put the other part of the plan
into action. He wonders where Yago is…
He’s taking a stroll through the cemetery with Ambar, who
thinks this all sounds like a science fiction novel. He has her feel the scars
under his beard. “You did all of this
just to get revenge?...Are you really Omar?” They stop at “Omar’s” grave
and she wonders who’s really buried there. He tells her it’s someone who died
in the prison. He wonders what made her change her mind. She tells him it was
something Abel said, about always feeling Yago was an imposter. She asks if
their whole courtship was a lie. Was their first meeting in the street (when
her suitcase fell open) also planned by him? Was none of it true? Yago tells
her that he cares for her (te quiero). “But
you’re sleeping with my sister to get revenge.” “Let’s just say, you were
collateral damage (daño colateral) in all of this.” Ambar is not impressed.
“Just tell me that you prefer my sister
and be done with it!” Yago wants to take her to someone who will help her
believe his story.
Lucio is strolling down the prison corridor (I love Flavio
Medina’s George Jefferson walk), when he’s stopped by a bearded dude who wants
to know why Lucio won’t let his wife be free, happy and single. He’s got the divorce
papers in hand, and demands that Lucio sign them or else he might have an “accident”
and leave his wife a widow and his child an orphan. Lucio refuses and asks if
Fidel sent him. The only answer he gets is a severe beating.
At home, Sara is blowing up Yago’s phone trying to figure
out where he and Ambar are. Then she gets a call. “What do you mean he got hit?!”
She gets to Matias’ school just as he and Jonas are leaving.
Matias, sporting a bruised lip, is angry that Jonas called Sara. Matias
explains that he fought the kids at school for making fun of his dad, making
him braver that Sara! “I’m not going to
let anyone speak badly about my dad! I will bring him justice!” He refuses
to let Sara take him to the doctor—Jonas will take him.
Meanwhile, Yago and Ambar are visiting Melina. He tells
Melina that Ambar knows the truth. “She
knows I’m your son, Omar.” Melina worries about when this plan will end and
the traitors be brought to justice. Yago assures her it will end soon and says
that Ambar will keep their secret.
Ambar: Yes. Melina, I
too want justice for Omar. Although I’m not in agreement with his way of doing
things.
Melina: I supposed you must mean Lucio.
Or, is there something more that you haven’t told me? Have you hurt someone
else?
Ambar looks at Yago knowingly, then assures Melina that he
hasn’t hurt anyone else. Jonas and Matias arrive and Mati greets Ambar happily.
She notices his bruised lip and they all get concerned.
At Revenge Central, Katia (who seems to be the only one
working hard today), is putting the final touches on her disguise as a chamber
maid. Teo arrives and is muy turned on, but Katia is all work, no play. She
gives him his headpiece to communicate with her on their upcoming mission.
At Fortress Michel, poor Rodrigo is getting the third degree
from Camilo as he waits to Julia. Camilo cuts between Julia and Rod to tell her
how beautiful she looks and that she looks just like her mother. He almost
loses it when Julia gives Rod a quick peck on the lips before they leave on
their date.
Yago finds Mati forlornly kicking his soccer ball outside
and sits him down for a man to man talk. He tells Mati he has to choose his
battles well. When he feels that his anger is taking over and not letting him
think, he should take a deep breath, analyze the situation, and make a decision
with a cool head. (Maybe Yago should take his own advice.) Looking about five
years younger than his age, Matias begs Yago to help get his dad out of jail.
He promises he’ll pay Yago back when he gets older. “I need him. I need him more than anything in the world.” (Aww.
This is so sad and heartbreaking.) Yago takes his hands in his but doesn’t know
what to say.
Mauricio, Lucio’s lawyer, delivers the blood splattered,
signed divorce papers to Sara. She accepts them with a cold smirk. Mauricio
assures her that he’ll get Lucio out of jail, and when he does, they will fight
her for custody of Matias!
In the bathroom of a restaurant, Rod waits nervously outside
as Julia and a girlfriend implement their plan for Julia to give her guards the
slip. Julia gives her friend her clothes and puts a red wig on her, then she
slips out the back as the other two go into the restaurant.
Yago finally arrives at Revenge Central, and Fidel scolds
him that he needs to be totally focused on the mission that day. He gives Yago the
gloves Katia created with Camilo’s prints.
In Damian’s hotel, Katia goes into his room disguised as the
maid to deposit his gun under the mattress. Teo keeps watch in the hallway, but
as she’s about to exit, he’s no longer being responsive through the earpiece.
She goes into the hallway to find that Damian has gotten the jump on Teo, has
knocked him to the ground and is trying to rip off his ski mask. Teo spots
Katia and yells to her to run. Damian pistol whips Teo and runs after Katia,
who runs up to the roof while pulling her gun out of her thigh holster. Damian
thinks he has her cornered on the roof and is starting his villain pre-murder monologue,
when he gets whacked from behind by Teo and falls unconscious.
Julia arrives for her date with Selma. She assures Selma
that she isn’t a reporter or anything like that. She’s just curious, and asks
if she is indeed the mysterious singer Selma, who disappeared so many years
ago. She tells Selma of the various rumors, among that then she married an oil
magnate and lives in Dubai. Selma orders food for them and says she hopes Julia
likes Jewish food. Julia says she LOVES Jewish food, matzah/matzo balls being
her favorite.
Sara visits the Guerrero family when she knows Mati is at
his riding class. They are less than thrilled about her visit, especially
Jonas, who barely lets her cross the threshold or speak. Sara acknowledges how
they feel about her, but asks them to just listen to her, for the love they
have for Matias. Jonas doesn’t want to hear it. But Bruno and Melina are curious to
know what she has to say.
Sara: I know that you love Lucio, but I can assure you that
you don’t even know Lucio half as well as I do.
Jonas: What are you trying to say? That Lucio is where he deserves to be?
Sara: That’s right.
Melina tries hard not to make too obvious of an “I told you
so” face, while Jonas sputters in disbelief at what Sara is saying. Sara
continues.
Sara: I started the
divorce proceedings, but I’m worried that Lucio will fight for custody of
Matias if he’s freed.
Mel: He would be
within his rights, wouldn’t he?
Sara: Look, I know I
can’t change the past, but now I want to do things differently. And there’s no
way for me to do that unless I’m completely honest with you all.
Jonas wants to know why they should believe anything she
says now! “Because there is something
that unites you all and me, Jonas. Matias
isn’t Lucio’s child. He’s Omar’s child.”
Fidel watches Julia and Selma on their date on his tablet,
while across town Camilo spies on the woman he thinks is Julia on her date with
Rod. He’s satisfied with what he sees, and gives four of his goons instructions
for watching Julia and her date as he gets ready to go home. Fidel calls him to
inform him that Selma and Julia are having a grand time chatting. Camilo laughs
it off. He’s looking at Julia (her back) right now. Oh really? Fidel tells him
he’s watching Selma and Julia enjoying a meal in his favorite kosher
restaurant, and he’s just about to pay Camilo back in the same way (con la
misma moneda) he did to Fidel all those years ago. Julia just might die today. Camilo
hops out of the car and rushes into the restaurant with his goons. He punches
Rod and tosses him aside, then drags the Julia impersonator up and shoves her against
the wall by the throat as Rod tries to shield her with his body. Camilo grabs a knife and points it at the poor
girl’s eye, threatening to kill her if she ever pulls a stunt like this with
his daughter again! Then he marches out of the panic-filled restaurant with his
goons following. He calls a code red—all his security need to come meet him
right now! This leaves Yago, who had dropped by Fortress Michel to see Camilo,
free to roam and use the special gloves to get into Camilo’s secret chamber.
At Damian’s hotel, the SWAT team is pounding on his door and
then break in to find Damian bound and gagged. They also find the gun they were
alerted they would find, and tell him they have an order to arrest him for
murder. They drag him away as he yells for them to let him go.
In the Jewish restaurant, Julia is telling Selma about her
strange fascination with all things Jewish—including food and movies about the
holocaust. Despite her strict Catholic upbringing, this has been her obsession.
So much so that she used to dream about a man that she sensed was Jewish, and
she even gave her first pet dog a Jewish name, Uri. Selma’s face freezes as she
remembers one of Fidel’s murdered sons, Uri. She searches Julia’s face and
seems to be realizing something. Just then, Fidel spots Camilo and his men
pulling up and sounds the alarm. Selma rushes out the back, just as Camilo and
his men barge through the front entrance. Out back, Selma tries to catch her
breath as she remembers Julia’s words, and then remembers when her baby girl
Fabiana was snatched from her arms by Camilo’s men. She holds her hand to her
heart and begins to weep.
Yago enters Camilo’s secret lair, which looks more like an
old manor house library, and begins to search for Camilo’s secrets. He doesn’t
have much luck, until he finds a file as thick as a Harry Potter book in a
bottom desk drawer. It’s the clinical case file (expediente clinico) of Julia
Michel!
