Tres Veces Ana - # 37

Discussion page until Sneaky's recap later in the day

Recap added

Ramiro recoginzes SantiMarcelo but Santiago doesn't recognize Ramiro (ok we're gonna try something a little different this time, both Santiago and Ramiro have separate flashbacks of their separate convos w/Ev, scattered througout the epi. I'm gonna combine and condense these flashbacks into one section I will call...)
Evaristo's plan: Evaristo tells Ramiro that Marcelo faked his death 3 yrs ago and has been lying low all this time getting his hooks inot Analu so he can take advantage of her and get the $$ Analu is in danger from Marcelo and Marcelo had Gina killed. Also Marcelo will pretend to have amnesia as a cover story but he's a dangerous guy, Ev gives Ramiro a gun and says he should probably just shoot Marcelo if he sees him.
Ev tells Santiago that Ramiro and his dad have been embezzling form the triplets' fam for yrs and Ram is planning on marrying one of the girls so he doesn't want Analu found b/d she'll get the $$ and Ram won't. Also Ram is behind the guys trying to kill Santiago and probably Jenny's death. He's a dangerous murderer who would do anything for that $$ He'll pretend to be yr friend but don't trust him, he's a dangerous murderer and if you see him you should probably just shoot him.

Now, in the present Santiago explains to Inaki and Ramiro what's going on, memory loss,  only just learned his real name, and swears them both to secrecy, can't tell BadAna or anybody else that he's back in town/alive. Also he needs a temporary place to stay while he figures some stuff out. Both Inaki and Ramiro volunteer their apts. Santi goes w/Ramiro b/c they need to talk. Ramiro loans Inaki his car (might as well give it to him once and for all) to get to work.

At work Inaki stares at BadAna till even she, exhibitionist she is snaps at him. He just wants to know if she's still in love w/her husband, after all she's been widowed for 3 yrs and hasn't moved on. Even though he really likes parts of  her and she's kinda into him, she doesn't think he can fill Marcelo's place/pants  (hey she said it, I just recap) Inaki isn't dissuaded though, he thoughtbubbles that she will fall for him before she meets up w/her husband again.

Up in Ramiro's apt the two men stare distrustfully at each other, Ramiro puts his keys in the drawer he keeps his new gun in and Santiago sees the gun. Santiago tells his story, and that he prefers Santiago for now. Ramiro just can't believe his story, Santiago doesn't know/remember Ramiro and therefore doesn't know if he can trust him. He asks for ice in his drink and while Ramiro is out of the rm takes the bullets out of the gun.
Ramiro lets slip that he knows Santiago is a taxi driver but doesn't say that Ev told him, instead says Inaki talked about his friend Santiago the taxista, but  Marcelo was a PI and a good guy, Santiago says you're the first person to say that, most ppl have been telling me Marcelo was a merciless killer and I kinda believe them b/c I only have 2 memories, one is of BadAna and her perfume and how I loved her and the other is less fun, I remembered when I took a gun off a guy who was trying to kill me that I  shot a guy in cold blood. Ramiro goes for the gun and demands Marcelo tell the truth and where is Analu hidden. Santiago swears he won't let Ramiro have/hurt her and btw he took the bullets out. Ramiro can't believe the bullets Santiago dropped on the floor are from his gun and when Santiago dares him to shoot him to find out Ramiro can't. Santiago takes the gun and puts the bullets back in and points the gun at Ramiro.
They are at an impasse, Ramiro can't believe Santiago and Santiago can't believe Ramiro, neither one mentions Evaristo.

Evaristo stops by the pension to check up on if Santiago is back in town and try to get Remedios to rent him a room for Orlando, whohe has adopted, like a lost puppy. At first Remedios says she's out of rooms but she feels sorry for poor beat up Orlando and his casts and finds out he's from the same hometown as Sole and FreeSpirit and gives in, she'll try to find him some place to stay.

Leonore, Abue and Llora sit around and talk about poor TioM who's life is now sadder than theirs. TioM called and told about BadAna's nightmare, Llora says don't make a big deal about it BadAna wouldn't like it, and Abue remembers when she blamed Llora for the accident.  TioM comes to invite Llora to dinner at some fancy shmancy place just her and him. Turns out he wants to talk to her about continuing her education in Venice (far, far away from Valentin)

Orlando and Maribel meet up at the pension

Santiago tells Ramiro he doesn't want Marcelo's life/memories/the people trying to kill him/whatever other problems he doesn't remember. Now he doesn't know what is right or wrong and he thinks the deeper he delves into Marcelo's life the more lost he will become. Ramiro finally believes Santiago doesn't remember and tries to convince him he was a good guy and if he gets more memories things will make more sense, not less, he'll know what he was really like, just let Ramiro help him find his past, just trust him and he will help him.

(well, they still aren't talking about Evaristo but maybe they won't shoot each other, so progress??)

Well how about our puppet master Evaristo? Respect for his abilities.

And Ramiro really is as dumb as we thought: he paid to get a photo of Ana Lu, got a photo of Marcelo instead and a bunch of random information about Marcelo being alive, which he seemingly did not believe. Yet, he did not demand a photo of Ana Lu from Ev (for which again he paid good money), did not get mad AND accepted a gun from Ev, a gun which could have been involved in any number of crimes for all Ramiro knows. And next morning he is nice and chipper with Inaki at the elevator. And then during his episode-long stand-off with Santi/Marcelo, he just gives him that gun, while believing him dangerous and capable to kill. I am starting to feel bad for Llora, who will end up with him!

Evaristo sure knows how to play everyone. Love it!

Yes Ria--seriously I was going through a real "WTH???" couple of moments with Ramiro last night. Dumbest galan ever...or pretty close to one. At least one of the most gullible ones.

I have to say, that "dream sequence" with Free Spirit doing her wire dance was really well done. Very ballet like, and knowing how hard both that type wire performance can be, as well as her other acrobatic routines, had to say well done by AB. I know it was filler and just to show AB off, but hey, nicer than watching Ramiro being dumb or AneLe being....well AnaLe. And I swear you could just see the admiration in Rulli as she performed--plays to the characters, but sort of fun knowing there was a personal touch in there too. Sucker for some good romance.

Can't wait for your recap Sneaky.

I am starting to think this isn't tres veces ana anymore. It has become Tres Veces Evaristo. Why is this man everywhere for crying out loud?...I am very disappointed in both Santiago and Ramiro, I thought they were smarter than this; well I thought wrong. I really enjoyed the scene between Inaki and Ana Leticia, I think that was the most interesting scene in this episode

daisynjay- I totally forgot about the dance scene. I agree with you, it was lovely and romantic

Oh my. Does anybody on this novela have any brains? I swear they are all really stupid. And how can they believe this skeevy old man? Argh. I'm starting to think this should be called tres veces zombies, cause obviously zombies ate everyone's brains. :/. Hopefully somebody gets their brains back soon.

Good one Anon--three faces of Ev is brilliant. He truly is a different person to the individual people he's taking for a ride. So far, he is doing a great job. You have to admire the man for remembering exactly what strings he's pulling with whom, and what he says from conversation to conversation.

You are right, he is good at what he does. I think that's what makes it annoying.

I can't believe Ram borrowed all that money from his boss and did not blow fuse when he didnt get what he paid for. You're right about how Ev manages to remember what buttons to press on everyone. No signs of mental decline at all.
Leticia

I completely agree.

You'd think that both Ramiro and SantMarc would be smart enough to realize they're being played. They may not realize it until there's an attempt on either of their lives and maybe not then since Evaristo has poisoned their minds against each other. The one thing that could correct this is for SantMarc to remember more stuff, but that will not happen overnight.

One thing we can probably count on is that AnaMeMeMe will see SantMarc before he remembers the light bulb moment he had about her when he last saw her three years ago.

It is interesting that he wants to continue to be Santiago. Living from paycheck to paycheck but with a loving maternal figure and nice novia.

Part 1

Inaki and Ramiro meet up, Ramiro has figured out that Inaki doesn't have a car in the shop or anywhere and will pretty much perpetually need rides. Outside the bldg they run into Santiago.

BadAna wants to forget all about the nightmare last night, but TioM wants to use it as an excues to get her out of his hair.

Sole and Remedios talk, Sole is worried about getting the job, Remedios is reassuring, but says if yr so worried what about FreeSpirit taking that job w/Anibal. Sole nixes the idea, she has thought about the probable consequences of fame for her and for Free spirit.

FreeSpirit meanwhile practices and daydreams about dancing w/santiago.

Ramiro recoginzes SantiMarcelo but Santiago doesn't recognize Ramiro (ok we're gonna try something a little different this time, both Santiago and Ramiro have separate flashbacks of their separate convos w/Ev, scattered througout the epi. Thanks Sneaky for the awesome recap! Probably won't get to see the episode for a few days since I'm going out of town.

Sounds like a good plan by Ev, have Ram and Santi shoot each other and no one is the wiser about Ana Lucia. Soooo tired of Ev's machinations though. Whoever said this was turning into 3 Veces Ev is right!

I like Ram but gosh I wish he was smarter and savvier!! Someone his age shouldn't be such a chump.

Thanks, Sneaky. Good work keeping Evaristo's separate stories straight. It would have been nice if Ramiro had thought to ask Santiago, "who told you that?" (about Marcelo being a bad guy) because it would have cleared up a lot of things all at once. Telenovela people never ask the right questions!

Thanks so much, Sneaky. I love how you organized this and kept it short and sweet. Like Carvivlie, I too won't get to watch until I return home Sunday.

I guess I would be impressed with Ev if the success of his plans didn't depend on the other characters being too stupid to believe. It just doesn't strike me as good writing. I'm impressed with villains whose plans are ingenious because they are probable.

Good point Vivi! And thank you Sneaky for the great recap!

In addition to all the great points viewerville has mentioned, the other thing that is driving me crazy is that Evarista threatened Orlando to stay away from AnnaLu and Soledad and now HES PUT HIM IN THE SAME PENSION!? I'm sorry but that's insane. I guess it's "the only pension in Mexico"!

And did I hear right that Evaristos lies included AnnaLu will be left THE ENTIRE FORTUNE to make up for her time away? I'm sorry but who is stupid enough to believe that? Oh wait...!

Thanks again, Sneaky!

Katy

Gracias, Sneaky.

Great point, Katy. No way would such a thing happen and Ana Lucia would not be likely to accept if it were.

Evaristo will pay dearly for what he is doing to all these people.

So I've been following this blog about a week or 2 behind the premier of 3VA, and it took some time to catch up (especially during NBA Finals, yay CAVs) but I did it! Woohoo, now I can drop my lurker-on-the-low status & upgrade to chisme participant :)

Ok so aside from the real lack of common sense in 3VA (some of which requires me to tighten my telenovela beanie over my TN tinfoil hat--antenna included!), I really do appreciate the writing involved. There are tender moments that remind me why I started watching TNs, I also respect alot of the physical action that is being expected out of these actors, but my favorite is that there are alot of jabs at the audience that are meant to push our buttons. When Ana LetTEASEya pushes the boundaries with Tio Marrano (who we know as a womanizing pig himself), it reminds me of the incestuous relationships in Game of Thrones, American Horror Story: Coven, and Cruel Intentions. I don't feel as uncomfortable, maybe I'm desensitized or maybe I'm unknowingly sick lol. Mostly I just like seeing 2 beautiful actors together & am willing to go along for the ride so long as it's confined in a illusory setting.

I like that although Evaristo manipulates people really well (almost as if you're caught in the grips of his spell....or maybe intimidation?), they're not as susceptible once they put some distance away from him. Eventually, some of them wise up. You could see Evaristo's quick wit in mingling some truths in with his lie, which leads to alot of the confirmation bias we see when the truthful tidbits Evaristo mentioned are reaffirmed. This elevates Evaristo's credibility a bit, and is why there was so much hesitancy in the stand-off. Also, you can't forget that we have all the cards (Chana's included) & are able to see past the bullchit, whereas the characters are operating on limited information (especially the kind that is confusing or offers scarce hope). I think Ramiro was quicker to see through the manipulation once he saw Sansrecuerdo struggling with his identity. There were slight nuances of belief on Sans part in b/w the confusion, but I dont blame him for not trusting anyone who claims to know him prior to his accident. He's going through a crazy stressful time with way too much falling on his lap. I was hoping as I watched that he realizes Ram isn't dangerous but better yet, a friend. I really want to see them succeed as a duo.

While Marrano also seemed slow to react to Villaintin initially, but amidst a funeral I felt it was appropriate that he didn't try to incite any further anger from Steals-on-Wheels. He's well aware of his manipulative past & did the smart thing by going directly thru Llora to end this union using her 1st amor: her love of music (and in Venice, no less!).

Evaristo placing Orblando at the hostel was his attempt at excising Sansrecuerdos from his room (Remedios luckily still has some common cents left in her piggy bank by seeing thru him), but I also get the feeling that Orblando may also serve as a distraction for Silks-a-lot...who btw did a wonderful job doing her aerial suspension routine with Rulli. She might want to change her name from Boyer to Boyar.

There are things that irk me of course, but I just roll my eyes & stay on the train until the time hits diez o'clock. Looking forward to what's next! *Lengthens her hat's antenna* Staying tuned...choo choo!

Thanks for the recap, Sneaky! A very fun read as always!

Cónchale, that's long! My bad, ladies. I will keep it concise la próxima vez :D

And welcome, Anna Nabil - glad to have you our of lurking and with your antenna tuned. You had me chucking at Ana Let-tease-ya and Villaintin - very appropriate!

Thanks Ria, I'm glad to finally find a clan to bicker with!

Thanks Sneaky. Long day but welcome Anna Nabil. We love long and lively comments.
