Tres Veces Ana #68/69? : Face To Face With Destiny-Or Not

-- If you were like me, your heart was in your throat.--ed.

Parte 1 - DARING DESTINY

Whack a mole’s got nothing on this episodio of cat and mouse patrol.  Just as all Hell is about to break loose inside the hospital lobby, Ramiro appears out of nowhere and catches Ana Lucia by the arm.  He tells her she knows Santiago does not want her at the hospital.  She insists nobody’s stopping her from seeing the man she loves.  “--No doubt it was his father standing there making him say that just to keep me away.”  Ram insists it isn’t like that (but oh, it is, isn’t it).  “They can all come down and pitch a fit and it still won’t get me out of the way; I’ll still speak to Santiago.”  Well, if she’s going, he won’t let her enter through the front door.  He pulls her around out of view of the entrance and continues while Narina and Ana Laura continue their confused conversation in the front lobby.

Narina explains how she met Marcelo in the boarding house.  Is Narina the owner?  No, she clarifies, she’s the friend of the owner.  (Nice touch, Narina.)  Why, with all his money, would he rent a room there?  Narina learns that they lost contact with Marcelo, A Llora’s BIL, three years ago and that all believe he did it purposely to make his wife and the family think he’d died so he could desert his wife and the rest of them.  “All the people we love die or abandon this family:  my two parents, my sister, Ana Lucia…--”  “--y-y-y-your sister?”  “--It was terribly cruel.”  Now things are beginning to become clear to Narina.  “--No, you don’t understand.  The poor boy lost his memory after a horrible accident three years ago.  He’s just now by chance coming face to face with his old life and memories.”

Ana Lucky makes it clear that she’s going to put up a fuss with that family and if she comes face to face with his insulting witch of a wife, the woman’s going to get a piece of her mind, no ifs, no ands, no buts!!!!!  Ram tries to make her see it from the family and the wife’s side of things.  Hey, she says, what’s to understand?  He’s with her now and chose her over the wife cuz the wife was already cheating on him with another man and he’s asked for a divorce.  Lucky had to listen to so much garbage out of that woman on the phone and bite her tongue not to answer.  That woman insulted her and made her feel less than dirt.

Ram tries explaining that despite all of that, she really loved the guy and suddenly, over night, he reappears in her life—but not to come back to her, but to ask her for a divorce because he’s in love with another woman:  she’s lost  the man she loves twice in her life now.  (Too bad; Viewerville believes she should have thought of that when she diddled with Danielito and devised his deadly demise.)

Back at the manse, Ana Leticia is running late and sneaks into Ernestina’s office to search for her earrings.  She grabs the key to unlock one of the drawers and finds instead of earrings, Ana Lucia’s gold I.D. bracelet.  She hears Leonora and throws the baggie back into the box and into the drawer.  She makes the mistake of leaving the key in the drawer as she greets Leonora and lies about grabbing her abue’s glasses for her.  Once A MiMi  is out of the house, Leo checks the desk, wisely distrusting her, and sees the key hanging from the lock.

Outside the hospital, Iñaki suddenly appears and somehow they work it out to sneak Lucky in past everyone and everything to keep her out of sight.

Meanwhile, Narina’s been on pins and needles worried that Ana Lucia and Ana Laura or worse, the wife/sister will run into each other.  Narina tells A Llora that it isn’t her place to tell her the why’s and what-for’s regarding whatever Marcelo’s might or might not be (such as being his wife’s sister’s lover) for keeping away from them.  The two ladies break up the conversation and go together for a quick visit with SanMarco.

At the same time, Edmundo, Ram’s papi, makes an apprehensive call to someone advising that his son is again fixating on the idea that his friend was the object of a murder plot but this time he won’t be able to send him out of the country to school for three years.  He’s thus leaving it in the “somebody’s” hands.  (Three guesses who that somebody is.)

In the coffee shop, Papi FU, explains the amnesia to Erni, specifically leaving out anything to do with Ana Lucia. She apologizes profusely and offers a room in her manse so that SanMarco can recuperate and again be rejoined with his wife.   FU says that’s a great idea as Marcelo’s place is with his wife and the social class to which he was born.

At the dress shop, Soledad informs Viridiana that Santiago is now out of danger and she is back to work.  Viridiana is sad, though, as her best friend’s son has just died.  However, the mood changes when Mariano appears to ask her out to lunch.  Vi leaves the shop in Ceci’s hands and she heads off with Mo.  A blond bombshell of a customer arrives just then and is needing assistance.  She mentions to Ceci that she knows Mo very well—who wouldn’t and is glad as all get-out that his fiancee is worm food.  Blondie has a flashback to herself in long curls, kissing him on her way out the bachelor pad door after some show-time in the sheets.

At the hospital, A Llora walks back into SanMarco’s room.  She looks and acts somewhat different compared to the last time they chatted, mentions SanMarco.  A Llora plays dumb.  She’s got a lady with her that’s explained he’d been victim of amnesia the past three years.  Is that true.?  Yup.  The woman wants to speak with you.  Narina enters and A Llora leaves the room.  Ok!  So, he says he thought it was going to be Remedios.  Heck, no!  Your daddy made such a fuss he got her thrown out of the place, says Nerina.  But yes, she knows why now—that girl is identical to Ana Lucia!!  They’re sisters!!  She’s her twin!! How could Santi???  He quickly warns her that A Lucky cannot know anything about this!!  Well the girl is outside the hospital this very moment!!  She’s desperate to see you (and got everyone who knows anything with their heart in their throats trying to keep her out of view)!!  There’s a lot she needs explained, he admits, but it cannot be now; there’s no time for it.  Get her out of here ASAP!

Out in the lounge, Ram leads the family away by taking them all out to eat at a nearby restaurant.  Inside, Yaki keeps Lucky out of the way of the family by hiding her in the side hallway.  Narina leaves and  A Lucky finally gets her chance to see Santi.  They cuddle and kiss and kiss and cuddle (--once the vain Santi remembers to take out the oxygen tubes.  Guess he’s recovering damned fast at that!)   Basta!  Her witchy triplet is flying her broomstick at full speed towards the hospital parking lot.

Narina runs into A MiMi on the way out of the hospital.  Narina is impactada en grande to see A Lucky is not just a twin, but a one third of a troupe of triplets!  She quickly determines (as do we all) that this is the wife of el pobre de Santiago and that it’s no wonder he wants a divorce from this witch!

Nerina stalls for time by telling Ana Leticia how she’s met her sister, Ana Laura, and that she mentioned Ana Lucia.  A MiMi sneers at her and comments that yes, they lost their mother and father in a terrible accident 20+ years ago, Ana Lucia was lost, and Ana Laura lost her leg.  A pity that her sister always seems to find somebody to share her sympathy-seeking story with.  She looks down her perfect nose at Narina and snidely continues.  “--I understand your sick fascination.  Buy yourself a life lady and stop involving yourself in others’ lives.  I detest meddlesome busybody biddies like you!”  She turns on her 6 inch CFM heels and enters the hospital.  Narina frantically prays to Dios that A Lucky and A Lemeeeee do not run into each other.  (Viewerville, however, is more than ready for that encounter—Big Time!)

Santi and Ana Lucky continue telling each other how much they love each other and that he’s going to move back into Rem’s rooming house once he’s out of there.  (Something tells me that’s not how it’s going to play out—especially if Papi FU and wifey have anything to do with it!!)

A MiMi arrives in the lounge on the floor SanMarco’s being kept Papi’s prisoner.  Guard dog, Yaki, is there at the ready and he and Lemeee exchange words about who is really a friend and would a friend really try stealing his friend’s wife away from him?  Oh, well he’s there as Santiago’s friend, not Marcelo’s, so in this case you can throw that reasoning out the window along with the pot o’ urinal wastage you’re trying to make me swallow, he intimates.  “--Give it up, Ana Leticia.  Your husband no longer loves you or wants you in his life.  It’s not long now before he gets divorced from you.”  “--Have you told him you’re interested in me?”  NO.  What’s the point?  He’s not my friend.  Santiago is.  Look, he says, I will if you want.  Right now (he gambles) but I have nothing to lose.  N-O-T-H-I-N-G.  Your hubby loved you, yes.  But that love died when he lost his memory.  That man no longer exists.  She insists that that love is still there and will come to the surface eventually, along with the whole man, and that passion will be stronger than ever it was before.  She starts for SanMarco’s room so Yaki lies that he’s gone for a couple of hours worth of tests.  She says she’ll wait.  He talks her into going for coffee with him.

Meanwhile, Santi talks Lucky into leaving to avoid any sort of nasty fight.  That is the last thing he wants to see.--her getting insulted by his wife, etc.  I should say that he eventually talks her into leaving.

Narina finally runs into A Lucky outside SanMarco’s hospital room, sobbing because he’s told her not to come back there;  he’s forbidden her to do so!   Narina suggests leaving before possibly running into his wife.  Why?  Is she actually there?  Has Narina seen her there or what?  Narina says yes and begs her to leave.  Finally she just grabs Lucky’s hand and drags her off and out to explain the little she intends to.  All of Viewerville breathes easy—except for me who simply sighs at not having said confrontation scene.  Bummerrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Parte 2

Madness As Motivation For Murder or Keeping Mum About Mummy

In the coffee shop, Yaki hits a sore spot with A MiMi by commenting that her Uncle Mo has made lunch reservations for two somewhere.  She gripes that it has to be that Viridriana woman.  Yaki notes that Mo’s girlfriends don’t sit at all well with her.  “--Is that what drives you to kill?”  She throws something at him in angry protest.  He’s always been like a father to her, she insists.  Now in her most needful hour he deserts her to gallivant off with that woman!  Yaki tells her to let him live his life and be done with it already.  Anyway, she has him on her side now.  She wrinkles her nose.  Thanks, but it’s not the same.  He invites her to eat since Ram’s invited the rest of the family out to eat and they’ll be a while.  She sneers she’d rather eat alone and leaves him with the check which he, characteristically, skips out on and avoids paying.

A MiMi shows up at the restaurant where Mo and Vi have gone.  She shows up just as Mo has mentioned to Vi that he’s hoping she’s hoping the same as he is hoping….that there could be more than just friendship in this relationship of theirs.  MiMi sits herself down and insinuates herself in between the two of them and guilts them into politely (something she could never do herself) accepting her presence.  Vi heads off to the ladies’ room.  Mo hints broader than broadly that A MiMi is a third wheel and should scramola, she gets in a snit.  She heads for the girls’ room.  When the two women end up together in the “powder room”, powdering their pug noses, MiMi and she spar over the quality of the [gun] powder they’re using.  When the two return to the table, Mo tells Vi that Ana Leticia has to be going now and A MiMi takes the hint, somewhat non-plussed at being rejected this time, and leaves with her out-of-joint pug perfectly powdered, but still out of joint.

A Lucky and Narina arrive home and find that Sole has come home early.  They lie about the trip to the museum.  Sole’s not fooled.  Narina tells Sole rather abruptly to have Rem see her as soon as possible once she arrives back from the market.

Yaki fills Santi in about all the shenanigans and lies in trying to get Lucky in without The Family finding out.  No harm, no foul.  Santi mentions how Lemee has asked for a reconciliation and how he still is in love with both sisters.  Yaki says “I told you so” and if he’d only listened to him and run off with the coastal girl Santi wouldn’t be in such a compromising position right now.  As it is, Santi now runs the risk of losing both of the women he loves.  Both women will end up hating him once they learn the truth about “the other woman”.  His best bet is to high tail it out of there ASAP with Ana Lucia and forget the rest of them all.  SanMarco is torn and cannot deal.  He admits it.  Well, says Yaki, it is certain that Ana Leticia is determined to find out just who the “other woman” is.  “--Trust me, brother.  If and when she does you’ll wish you were dead.”  Santi swallows hard.

Back at Rem’s roomer, Rem and Narina begin to talk, but Sole rushes in and demands to be heard as well, especially since it’s her they’re gossiping about.  Narina accuses both of them (sort of) of hiding the truth about the crime Sole committed by keeping Ana Lucia unjustly from her loving family for all these years.  Sole and Rem manage to turn the conversation into some sort of self-righteous privileged protection plan.  She has no right to second guess Sole, harrumph!  (Pardon me, but she does, screams Viewerville in righteous indignation!!  Check with the law-and it matters little how well you took care of her nor how happy she might now be.  It was not legally your choice to keep her, y punto!)  Nerina remarks that her kids may have screwed her over, but she at least didn’t kidnap someone else’s little girl, keeping them away from their rightful family for and to herself, a criminal act!)  Ana Lucia hasn’t the least idea that she has a family who thinks she’s dead all these years, let alone two sisters IDENTICAL to herself!!  (Basta with Soledad’s misplaced self-righteousness, and Remedios’s shameless complicity in all of this!  Viewerville expected more vitriol from the offended Narina, but got none.)   However, as much as she refuses to be their accomplice in this crime, she’ll keep their secret.  She folds like a wet dollar bill.  (Shees!)

Now, back at the manse, Erni announces to Ram, A Llora and Leo that SHE and Facundo have decided that Marcelo’s to recuperate there at his wife’s side in the manse with his rightful family, and with the woman he loves.  WRONG!  Ram interjects that he didn’t mention it before but, Marcelo’s asked that woman he [still] loves for a divorce.  He’s got another life now since losing his memory.  At this poor Erni has another attack of high blood pressure and faints.

Parte 3

There Are Threats and There Are Threats

Cardio Family Friend and his wife race to the manse so he can tend to her.  Ana MiMi puts up a stink blaming Erni’s insistence in finding Ana Lucia as the possible reason for this fainting spell again.  Everyone denies knowing anything.  Leo finally tells her that the fact Ram and A Llora informed Doña Ernestina that she couldn’t have Marcelo recuperating under the same roof as A MiMi now because he’d already asked her for a divorce is what caused her abuela to faint.  She didn’t even know the man had lost his memory.  Mo perks up at that.  “Amnesia?”  Wonderful!

Upstairs Cardio FF tells her this quest for Ana Lucia will be the death of her.  She insists she won’t die till she’s found and back in the bosom of her family.

Downstairs A Lemeee starts in on Mo.  Seems you are rather relieved to learn he’s forgotten everything  and what we had before.  He tries excusing himself if that’s what it seemed like.  She starts nagging about what the two of them are hiding.  He accuses her of acting foolish and says if she knew this then why not tell him.  Lemeeeee has a temper tantrum and says he was too busy making lunch dates with Vi to take time with her and hear it.  Doc comes in and reports his findings.  Mo goes outside to look for Ram and A Llora to fill them in.  Lemeee races upstairs to be the first to see Granny.

Outside Mo warns Ram off going upstairs.  Only A Llora and her sister are permitted.  A Llora heads inside.  Mo asks Ram if this amnesia is for real or only another dirty trick in trying to hide from the rest of the family for the last three years.

SanMarco is dreaming now and remembers the confrontation over “that woman” and how Mo tricked him into whatever just to get her off his back (whose we don’t know yet).  When he awakes he finds Valentin sitting next to his bed.  He and we all wonder how the heck he got in, considering!  SanMarco doesn’t remember him.  “--You don’t remember the man whose life you destroyed?”

Back in the driveway, Ram informs Mo that it’s no dirty trick and it ain’t been no party either, for any of them.  “--What did he tell you and if you weren’t there, how’d you know anything about what happened with Gina?”    “--That you and he were in the room with her those last few hours.”  --So if he has amnesia how does he know enough to tell you all this?”  Ram explains that the memories appear suddenly, but are mismatched (like parts of a jigsaw puzzle) and rolling around.  He remembered holding that pistol at her while Mo stood silently by and watched him force her write down that dictated suicide note to Ram.  What happened afterward is still a mystery and the only one to know that is Mo himself.  But, he’s not ready to talk, so Ram suspects it’s not convenient for him to tell him all.  Mo warns Ram off it again.  “--I am not thinking to dig up the past about something so painful for all of us. “

Ram disagrees vehemently.  He was the one about to marry the woman when this happened and he blames himself for it all.  He has a right to know exactly what went on back then, he tells Mo!!  Mo asks what for.?  It happened so long ago, right?  Ram tells him he wants whoever is to blame to pay for that crime, that’s what.  Mo warns Ram to watch his tone of voice and not to ruin his future or his present with something from the distant past.  He can count on his support with A Llora but only if…..Oh, is Mo threatening him?  Naw….just advising him is all.  Ram says he’s also doing this for Marcelo who thinks he killed her, but Ram does not.  And this is to find who really killed her—for him; one day he will prove it to everyone.

Back in SanMarco’s hospital room, Violentin plays with him.  Marcelo doesn’t seem so threatening lying in bed like that, like a fly he could swat, like TinTin, when Marcelo left him lying on the floor, crying tears of rage because he couldn’t fight back and clobber him to death the way he wanted to.  TinTin refuses SanMarco’s apology and pulls a gun on him.  Within a couple of minutes, dual personality syndrome takes hold of Santi and Marcelo takes over.  He grabs the gun from TinTin’s hand and menacingly kicks him out of his room and his life.  However, he’s bleeding again, and as Facundo re-enters the room he notices and starts screaming for help.

At the manse, A MiMi tells Erni that she’s asked for a reconciliation and she’s certain he’ll accept that since she always gets what she wants.  Leo and A Llora do major eye rolls to each other at that.  Lemeeee again hints broadly at her hiding things from the rest of them and then kisses her.  Leo and A   Llora give each other another “there she goes again” look.

Bernardo informs Mo that Erni is fine but needs to forget about finding Ana Lucia.

A Llora lies to her sister about the id bracelet and anything else. Ana Lemeee gets sneaky.   “--But if Ramiro were to find out that Ana Lucia were alive you’d tell me, right?”  A Llora skirts a direct answer saying that she’s always believed Ana Lucia is still alive.”  Lemeeeeee gives up and says shse’s going back to the hospital to be with her husband where she belongs.

Speaking of Sainted SanMarco, Papi FU is relieved it was only a few pulled stitches.  He begins giving him the third degree about who caused those stitches to rip out.  It was that guy in the wheel chair, whom he no doubt met from that underworld he’s been living in, right?  SanMarco uses this as a means of bringing up the horrid way he treated his “madrina” de Rem the other day.  FU insists the woman has nothing to do with him and his place in the world and to stop calling her “madrina”!!  Santi says FU’s right that she is not his godmother; she’s like a mother to him and if it comes to choosing, he’d choose her over him without a second thought.  She will be part of his life till the day he dies, he adds.  “--Perhaps she’ll die before you?”  “--Don’t even think about harming a hair on her head!”  FU backs off and says, hey, it is part of life that she’d die before you.  But, he then agrees, Marcelo’s right, He was hard on her.  Just imagine if she and then the whole of the roomers showed up here.  Think of Ana Lucia.  He was protecting her as well.  Think of the bruja-ja (pun intended considering wifey on her broomstick and A Lucky already parked on her halo) there would be if the family showed up at the same time!!

SanMarco doesn’t believe a word of what FU’s been saying and tells him so.  “--The only thing you want is to separate me from the people I know and love.”  You want me to be the son you had “  FU agrees and adds he’s got as much right to him as those people do!  He wants his son back—he’s known him since the day he was born—and Ana Leticia has that right also.  “--We cannot refuse her that right.”

At the same time, Rem and Sole are consoling each other with some tea.  Sole says she doen’t trust Nerina.  Rem says she can be trusted.  As for being angry with A Lucky, there's no reason to be.  If she resorted to asking Nerina for help it was because they hadn’t given her the emotional support she needed.  Sole thinks the girl needs some further reigning in.  Rem tells her not to bother.  With her or without her by her side, she’s got a strong personality and nothing and nobody will ever keep her from getting what she wants.  Anyway, Ana Lucia has managed to bring Nerina out of her self-imposed imprisonment.  That’s a good thing.  And, Death will eventually separate the two of them, if nothing else.  Besides, as long as Ana Lucia is surrounded by love and those who love her, nothing will ever manager to harm her.

So excited for your recap Jardinera! My heart was in my throat. I felt so sad for Ana Lu. How many people know the truth now? How many people have spoken with her and then her sisters? She's surrounded by all of them and not one dares to be honest with her. It is a terrible situation, Ana Lu will be devasted when she learns the truth but imo it will hurt even more that all of those people knew and didn't tell her anything. I'm sure that there will be more people finding out before she does. I can see Ana Lu's faux bestie, Maribel finding out and being filled with envy that Ana Lu is an heiress.

On a funnier side, did anyone else laugh as Abue fainted from the news that Marcelo asked Ana Let for a divorce? Her character is just way too over the top.

Right, none of these people truly love Ana Lucia, and I think she will either stumble upon the truth or someone who hates hate will reveal the truth.

SANTIAGO doesn't want to reveal the truth because that would mean having to deal with Marcelo

EVARISTO is just collecting checks

SOLEDAD doesn't want to go to jail

ORLANDO is trying to weasel his way into Ana Lucia's bedside

RAMIRO is trying to Juggle the wishes of Ans Laura with the wishes of Marcelo

INAKI is trying to get in good with Ana Leticia

REMEDIOS is trying to stay good with Santiago

FACUNDO is trying to get rid of any person that causes Marcelo to stay Santiago

And now Nerina knows. Out of this bunch, RAMIRO is the only one who means well towards Ana Lucia and wants her reunited. Everyone else wants Ana Lucia to stay separated from the family.

Lily, As you said, AnaLu is surrounded by people that don't dare be honest with her. There may be serious repercussions when she finds out the truth about her origins.

If you remember, in LQLVMR a similar situation took place. Jose Louis (Monserrat's former boy friend) was posing as the foreman on Alehandro's ranch. Almost everyone was aware of this, but they were afraid to tell him because of the possible consequences. And...when he did find out he was furious & humiliated. Wouldn't listen to any explanations... Banished Monserrat and refused to believe the baby she was carrying was his.

Anxious to see what happens when the sh.t hits the fan!

Actually, considering how dysfunctional this family is, Ana Lucia is better off without them.

And SantMarc should have remembered by now that AnaLet asked him first for a divorce three years ago before the "accident."

Evaristo said a while back that he is terminally ill, but no details. If he isn't lying here's hoping there is a deathbed confession that AnaLet hired him to kill Marcelo.

Jardinera..CAnnot wait to read your take on last night's madness. Yikes

Poor SAnticelo is a sitting duck in that hospital bed.

Virginia..Welcome!!!...I, too, am a former farm girl...and a teacher ...who never studied Spanish. I Stumbled into the telenovela world and the site that became caraycaray about nine years ago. I still don't speak or understand much Spanish, but the folks here are wonderful, smart, and funny.

I am with everyone here, totally fed up that every day we get another person in one "the secret" and not one of them cares a flying fig enough to let this poor woman know she has sisters. She will have a right to feel betrayed and manipulated.

Oh yeah, and yes, Lily, Abue fainting over the idea of a divorce. I was mid sip with coffee, stopped and thought I heard something wrong. But then later confirmed and thought, "This woman is the one who raised two of these girls...seriously? And we wonder why they are a mess?"

And looks like playboy Uncle M has another notch on the bed post coming back to haunt? Did I see that flashback right?

Not only should there be a psychiatrist in this tale, this would have been a perfect story for an honest detective who was trying to sort this mess out and hitting road blocks. He might actually do a better job then the resident accountant in that job.

Looking forward to the recap! What an episode!

Was that Gina that was shopping in Viridiana's store?!?!

I didn't like how Ernestina suggested that Marcelo live with them after he gets out of the hospital. Very bad idea. Hopefully he will be able to go back to the pension and not let Facundo control everything he does. Anyway I'm sure Ana Leticia will eventually start something with Iñaki thus be technically cheating on Marcelo (again).

At first I did think Nerina had good intentions by helping Ana Lu to see Santiago but I'm not sure now. She, Soledad, and Remedios might not be doing the right thing right now. I'm interested to see more of why Nerina had problems with Valentin and Gina. Speaking of Valentin, how on earth did he sneak that gun into the hospital? I'm glad, for once, that he encountered the real Marcelo and not Santiago. The whole split personality thing is really interesting.

Another jam-packed episode. I don't think the gal in the store is Gina. But she is another one of Tio Mariano's paramours. And he dumped her rather firmly when he decided to "sentarse cabeza" and finally marry Jennifer.

I presume her entrance into the storyline is to further mess up any romantic progress Vridiana might be contemplating with our foxy, blue-eyed but murky galan. I'm still smitten but he's turning out to have rather large feet of clay like our muscular Iñaki.

@TF, no that wasn't Gina. If you remember earlier in the beginning of this TN, Ana Let hired a girl to distract Mariano into cheating on Jennifer. I believe, Jennifer found out he was cheating which might be why he stopped seeing the secretary & this contracted-hoochie.

Despite that being a private hospital, I don't think there are metal detectors. Seems like him being wheelchair bound makes him appear less of a threat. So glad Marcelo/Mr. Hyde came out to teach Villaintin how to hold a gun. Gangsta style.

I still think Nerina has good intentions (like Ramiro) but is being pressured to not say anything. I feel like she might be the one to help AnaLu again, and maybe orchestrate a way for her to find out w/o actually telling her. But personally, I'd rather her find out directly from Santi, or give us good TV by bumping into Ana Laura & having them circle each other (like, uh who put this revolving glass here?)

When I saw Erni faint, I was like "Lady, he's not asking YOU for a divorce!". But later they explain it was stress from all the compounded revelations. I was saying the exact thing about her meddling & deciding for Marcelo where he would stay. What makes this woman think she has any decision power over a non-blood relative? His father is right there, yknow. And Santi's a big boy. Glad that Ana Laura criticized her about always jumping to conclusions. This woman doesn't just jump, she catapults! Frickin' kangaroo, if I ever saw one!

Oh...I loved the whole kissy moments b/w Ana Laura & Ram. And I laughed hard at Ana Let's snarky commentary on them. Also loved kissy moments b/w AnaLu & Santi. Have you ever seen his face so happy or light up like that w/ Ana Let? Nope. But Inaki was back at his sweet self helping AnaLu sneak in. Yea, he's helping to ensure Santi stays w/ the woman he's not chasing, but it was still cute of him to help. So funny how AnaLet ditched him, tho :P

Looking forward to the recap, Jardnera.

Urban, I am with you thinking Ana Lu is better off without all these well-intentioned people. I felt exactly as you guys – everyone else is in on the secret and everyone has some reason to hide it from her. At this point I am not sure what Ram's and Santi's reasons are - Santi is afraid of Ana Let, but he is not making any progress figuring out why she didn't want Ana Lu found. Both of these galans are tied up solving Gina's supposed murder. So will they just keep Ana Lu situation on ice until conditions are more favorable?

JudyB, you always remind me of such fantastic and colorful Spanish phrases - gracias! Did you notice TioM's eyes were unusually blue again in one of Marcelo's memories this episode?

Laughed this episode when Ramiro was trying to guilt Ana Lu into not coming in the hospital by saying he won't keep her and she just needs to do what she feels is right. The ran behind her to stop her when she tried to come in. "Well I thought I convinced you to turn around ". We'll add negotiating to the list of skills he should not put on his resume.

And what is his father planning? Who did he call to take care of Ram - not Ev I hope? Though considering there's only one private detective/bouncer/life lesson instructor in their city, suppose not really much hope for that...

Anna N: Thanks for your answer. I had forgotten about that but it makes sense that Ana Leticia would do something like that. She has a weird obsession with her uncle.

Lol..Anna..."LAdy, he's not asking YOU for a divorce." Perfect. Gram gets the vapors over the idea of her sweet flower ANaLEtme being divorced. Shocking. HMMM, What century is ERnie living in ?

Judyb..yes, sad to say that both INaki and SUper Mario have seemed to have mislaid their moral compasses.

Anon 207 thank you for your list and you are right, Ramiro is the only person who only wants happiness for Ana Lauro and Ana Lu. I hope Ramiro arranges a secret meeting between the 2 sisters.

Virginia I do remember LQLVMR and how devasted Ale was. I hope Ana Lu doesn't lash out at everyone, just Soledad. Soledad had Ana Lu's whole life to tell her the truth and she didn't due to her own selfishness. I'm anxious for that moment too!

Daisynjay LOL yes, I can't believe Ernestina raised the girls, we know Leonor is the only reason why Ana Laura is somewhat normal, Ana Let was cray cray to begin with. Love your name btw, I have a sister named Daisy.

Anna N LOVE your comments! "Frickin' kangaroo if I ever saw one!"

Thanks in advance for recap.

Anna N, It obvious Tio's secretary is crushing on him.
You mentioned above that he and his secretary had a thing at one time, but I dont remember that. Did I mss that somehow?

Ana Lucía got on my nerves. I totally understood that she needed to to see Santiago/Marcelo in person and hear what was happening directly from him. What bothered me was when he told her to her face it was better for her to lie low and she kept arguing with him. She has the same stubborn streak as her sisters. These near misses cannot go on forever. I hope we do not have to wait long for their inevitable meeting.

Jardinera- Looking forward to your recap.

Every time someone makes a shadowy call, I expect the person on the other end to be Ev, so it's not a way off assumption to make that Edmundo was speaking to Ev about Ramiro and Gina. Or perhaps it was Mariano he was speaking to.

Anon- No, Mariano didn't have an affair with the secretary, but she has a huge crush on him, and AnaLet has confronted her on it before.

I am waiting for the day that someone tells Soledad that regardless of her love for Ana Lucia, what she did/is doing is a crime, and they will NOT be complicit in it. They are going to inform the authorities. Or better yet, inform the authorities or the family first, and then tell Sol, so that she doesn't have time to sic Ev on you, or escape.

@Anon, my memory is kinda fuzzy on Secretary & his relationship. I naturally assumed they had a past together since Marrano is none too shy about collecting beautiful woman for his dirty sheets.

I agree, Vivi. I was having that one-sided convo we all have w/ our TV screens & telling Nerina not to listen to Soulless' manipulations. If she truly loved AnaLu as she claims, she'd reunite her w/ her sisters. I've always said "Love that is dependant on manipulation isn't real love, it's merely infatuation or obsession". Clearly she's only got one person's wellbeing in mind: her own.

Looking at my TV Guide, I see we have another week of double episodes. I, for one, love them-can't get enough of the story... Of course, I'm retired and don't have to get up early like some of you.

A week or so ago someone mentioned we still have 70 episodes to go. Some time ago, I read that there were going to be 65 episodes in the first season and 55 in the second. Did any one else hear that? Also, Is there going to be a second season? If so, does anyone know when this season ends and the next one begins?

I appreciate the info. And (in advance)I do appreciate the recap.

Welcome Virgina Wiseman: I just saw an ad for a new telenovela which I am all in for! It starts 9/6/16. I remember seeing something about "Season Two" myself and have no idea what they're talking about as I've never seen a "season 2" in all the years I've been watching these things--since 2001, in fact. Maybe it's a new thing with Univision? I had thought this was 65 episodios, myself and so we may only have till after Labor Day till it ends, doubled up as it is right now. It's too close to every secret being told for it not to end. However, they may have chosen to carry it on in parts with another 2-3 seasons like the Grand Hotel was done in Spain. I don't know.

--Back to finishing part 3.........

P.S. Welcome, Lily!

@Jardinera Thank you for the recap! Lily's been w/ us for sometime now, she comments whenever we're lucky enough to get that chance :) They're no longer doing a season 2. With the double episodes, we're stuck w/ this TN for the long haul until it's complete.

Gracias, Jardinera. My faves:

Basta!  Her witchy triplet is flying her broomstick at full speed towards the hospital parking lot.

Yaki notes that Mo’s girlfriends don’t sit at all well with her.  “--Is that what drives you to kill?”

When the two women end up together in the “powder room”, powdering their pug noses, MiMi and she spar over the quality of the [gun] powder they’re using.

Is anyone else tired of Ana Loon's stupid little pursed lips expression? I'm as tired of it as I am tired of seeing that Mariano doesn't see through her and call her out on her wildly inappropriate behavior toward him.

BTW, he needs to shave. The white stubble makes him look older than he needs to. But is that also to remind us in another way how inappropriate Ana Loon's feelings for him are? That he is her uncle is more than enough.

I am very disappointed in Nerina for not letting Solebad have it. She committed a crime not getting Ana Lucia back with her (albeit dysfunctional) family. Love the idea of contacting them before telling her anything so she won't have time to sic Evaristo on anyone. The confrontation between Ana Lucia and Ana Loon is long overdue and I hope there are witnesses to see what Ana Loon really is.

Glad that Ana Lucia didn't get pregnant but I hate that she and SantMarc only got to make love once before their troubles escalated. They need to do so now so he can realize what the real difference is between the two sisters.

I'll bet the male viewers of this series are seriously envying him.

Thanks for the welcome from Susanlynn and Jardinera. I am really enjoying the recapps and discussions. Also, the info on the length of this tn from Jardinera654 and Anna is greatly appreciated!

daisynjay: "This woman is the one who raised two of these girls...seriously? And we wonder why they are a mess?" Hey, a bunch of bucks doesn't automatically mean you got brains to go with 'em.

Anna N: "When I saw Erni faint, I was like "Lady, he's not asking YOU for a divorce!" --definitely recap worthy! LOL!

Ria: "We'll add negotiating to the list of skills he should not put on his resume." ITA. LOL!

Judy B: Mo's big blue eyes are all I can see anymore when I watch him on the screen. Don't wanna burst your bubble, amiga, but I'd swear he's got blue contacts in just to emphasize 'em on camera.

TF: I wondered if the gal was a high-priced hooker or not. I remember her racing out now. Wonder why the woman was so glad Jen was dead, unless she thinks she's got a hooker's chance in Hell to win over the principe azul and his pile o' pesos for herself.

Thanks, Jardinera. I forget so much over the weekend! And these double-episodes give me twice as much to forget!!

Urban: BTW, he needs to shave. The white stubble makes him look older than he needs to. But is that also to remind us in another way how inappropriate Ana Loon's feelings for him are? That he is her uncle is more than enough." Yes and yes!! ITSA!

Jarifa and ViViDC: Two major ITSA's.

Susanlynn: I know you and Judy B love those prissy, pouty drenched-in-blood-red-lip-gloss moments of Ana Leticia, but I gotta agree with some of the others that it is beginning to drive me as nutty as A Lemeeeee is herself.

TF: I was confused in the beginning and can see why you might have wondered with all the time shifts, about Gina. Initially, didn't she have blond hair? Or was that Nerina's daughter. I thought it was during the bed scene when TinTin first was laid up in his hospital bed and he begged her not to leave him. She took all his money then and went off. So who was THAT blond woman in the ponytail?

My money is on Facundo and A MiMi getting SanMarco under the Familia's roof again. He's got to be seduced by his wife again and that cannot happen IMNSHO unless he's helpless and cannot put up a fight, thus ending up in Erni's manse with A MiMi pouting and pampering till he gives in.....jes sayin'.

Thanks for the recap, Jardinera! Especially loved the part titles! Marcelo's dual personality syndrome kicking in during TinTin scene was definitely timely and convenient. He dealt with him very nicely!

On double episodes: I am now seeing, as Jarifa was telling us last week, the TVA will go back to one hour episodes after next week. I too enjoy the plot movement as of late, but looking forward to recapping shorter episodes. :)

If anybody is interested, our TVA cast okayed some futbol recently: http://bit.ly/2bgf1LL
Besides our main cast, I think I saw Gina and Adriana in that pic.

Thanks again Jardinera - an especially enjoyable read today!!

Thank you Jardiniere for he wonderful recap! I especially enjoyed your opening line/rhyme. :)

Jardinera...I always love your sassy recaps.... nailed it.

As for The Silver Fox...what a playboy....not an attractive trait to me. I think those verra blue eyes just might be enhanced with contacts.

I often wonder what is going through UnRUlli's mind as he watches his real life girl chewing the scenery as three different mujeres.

I am getting such a kick out of Angie playing AnaLET-ME. Forget that pouty , glossy, red mouth...WHo wears short shorts????...she wears short shorts..probably to throw it in ANaSAd's face that she has two legs.

Check out Angie's dance moves on youtube. She is quite good.

Thanks for the marathon read Jardinera. So much to cover in this one. I love the moniker "Papi Fu". As I recall, "fu" is what you say in Spanish when there's a realy bad smell somewhere. Certainly appropriate for the Detestable Dad.

and "some show-time in the sheets". You are the perfect persona of the wise-cracking, world-weary broad. Maybe a sassy assistant to a private eye, or a private eye yourself. I'm picturing you with a fedora (but no gum!) and some shapely gams, rolling your eyes at the hijinks of these very flawed characters.

Methinks you could be right about Tio's blue eyes being contact enhanced. But I'd have to get really, really, really, really close to be sure. Quite willing to take on that research assignment. What can I say, I'm a giver.

Thanks wise-cracking, world-weary friend. Nicely done! As always.

Yikes Susanlynn...now that your comment has appeared I see we used the same words "sassy" and "enhanced". Separated at birth? Two great minds?...ah well...maybe we could play twins in the next telenovela.

Judyb...indeed...we are sisters. We have shared these novelas for quite a few years, n'est-ce pas ? Hey, are you wearing blue toenail polish, too ?

Thanks all of you. I apologize for the numerous grammatical and typo errors--most of which I have fixed now, but this one took me a full day to get through!!! I am glad to hear it's only one more week of double duty.
==========

Sorry, Susanlynn and JudyB, but silver foxes are not my taza de té. However, you have my permission to do all the research on the matter of El Tío Ése and his...enhancements that you might wish.......

Jardinera..so...who is your cup of tea in this one..the quarterback SAnticelo or the linebacker INaki ? I think that I can guess since I have known you for a long time , too ^_^

Jardinera, about novelas and 'seasons'... Televisa has been trying to appropriate the concept of 'seasons' for a while, with CLASE 406, REBELDE, and most recently, A QUE NO ME DEJAS.
They're not actual seasons, as telenovelas don't go on hiatus for months/a year and then come back with new episodes. This is just marketing, to capitalise on the current popularity of US TV series.

With Clase and Rebelde, they just marked the beginning of a new school year, and the story of A QUE NO ME DEJAS/AMOR EN SILENCIO has two parts, set 20 years apart. These 'seasons' begin the day after the 'season finale'.

I did read about ANA having two seasons. I'm assuming that, unlike LAZOS DE AMOR (where the triplets didn't meet until the final Wednesday), the end of the 'first season' will be the reunion, with the remaining episodes or 'second season' will be Ana Leticia's war on Ana Lucia.

I just don't understand why Ana Lucia hasn't googled Marcelo Salvaterra. I mean, the novela is set in 2016, not 1986! Even back in 1996, a young person like Ana Lucia would've used Yahoo or Netscape and try to find some kind of information about Santi's previous life. That's what Santi did, so why hasn't she?
She says she wants to know more about Marcelo's wife. EFFING GOOGLE HIM! Especially now that she knows he was rich and was possible featured on social photos. She lives in Mexico City, not in the Amazon jungle. Go to an internet cafe and SOLVE THE MYSTERY!

Thank you Jardinera for this feast of a recap! I feel bad for us and the recappers with these 2 hour episodes. You had so much to cover and I love that you put in some asides that I love to agree with: "Pardon me, but she does, screams Viewerville in righteous indignation!! Check with the law-and it matters little how well you took care of her nor how happy she might now be. It was not legally your choice to keep her, y punto!)" Yes! How easily does Sole forget that she committed a crime no matter how much she "loved" Ana Lu. Perhaps Sole didn't know at first who or if anyone was looking for Ana Lu but the moment she found out (newspapers) she should have done the right thing and returned her to her family.

Thank you for the welcome, I have been around for sometime but am sorry I don't get to comment as often as I'd like. I'm always reading the recaps though :) thank you Anna N for remembering me :)

And yes! Miguel, sure wish Ana Lu would just google Marcelo but I kinda feel like Sole never allowed her to use the Internet.

One more thing: We've said previously that the family dynamic would have been very different if Ana Lucia had been returned to Ernestina. She might have remembered that Ana Leticia was responsible for the accident and it would have been substantially more difficult for Ana Leticia to get away with torturing Ana Laura.

Who should have googled Marcelo's name ages ago at a library or something. According to this Mexico's internet penetration is only about 45%.

Hey Susanlynn...no blue toe nail polish. No polish at all. Hmmm...that's how they'll tell us apart. I like that idea a lot more than a prosthetic.

Thanks so much, Jardinera! I'm sorry the recap took so long for you, but for us it was worth the wait.

Miguel- This WAS supposed to be two seasons here in the States. It hasn't even started in Mexico yet. The plan was for the US to have a break of a few months, then to start back up at the same time Mexico got to the point of the break, then for both countries to be in sync. Mexico was never going to have the break. Now, since Uni messed up it's own scheduling, I don't think they know what they're going to do. With these double episode AND no break, we'll end way ahead of Mexico.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense why AnaLu hasn't googled Marcelo, like he did when he first learned his real name.

Susanlynn: SAnticelo por supuesto. I love blond of all shades--especially when it come as part of a package the likes of both Sr. Rulli y Sr. Strickler!! ; ?))

Earth tones is my thing. Warm colors. Silver foxi with icy blue eyes are nice to look at for a bit, but then I get the need for a jacket. Leaves me cold inside. But, to each his/ her own!!!
=============
LilY: sorry if I haven't seen you on my page before. Could be my age and oh many more senior moments....

========
Miguel, thanks for the explanation re: seasons. I used to think of those distinctions as "nueva etapa". Am I correct?
============
Urban: You and I are now really tracking. I've many times wondered what influence Ana Lucia's continued presence over the 20 years in the bosom of her familia would have lent, stabilizing or otherwise. I do see sparks coming after the initial shock. It will be a test of wills and cool, calm thinking that will win the day for her in the end, just as Rem seemed to be saying.

Julie: Glad to see you're still here, amiga! Always love your ironic and funny twist on things.

ViviDC: Right. A Lu has a phone and should know about Googling. What does she do with herself now that she doesn't have Dance Aire to occupy her thoughts?

Danz

I just heard the follow-up to a story the BBC reported a few months ago. A South African woman who kidnapped a baby girl almost 20 years ago and raised her as her own child, has just been sentenced to 10 years in prison: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-37082263

This all came about when the kidnapped girl started attending the same high school as her younger biological sister. Other students noted how much they looked alike, introduced the two girls, and they became friends. The younger sister unknowingly brought her sister home, the parents immediately realized, got DNA and the truth, had the woman arrested. They had never given up finding their daughter all these years, searched, had a birthday party for their missing daughter each year that was covered widely by the media. This is one of the reasons why the sentencing judge says that even if the kidnapper’s tall tale of being “given” the baby were true, she has to have seen ALL the news reports about the missing child all these years. The woman (“a soft-spoken seamstress”) won’t admit her wrong-doing. (Sound familiar?) The girl has been traumatized by this all, refuses to bond with her biological family, has chosen instead to live with the man she always thought was her father (he was found to not have known his wife kidnapped the child). The two extended families are at odds with each other. The marriage of the biological parents broke up because of the strain and pain of having a missing child. But they still have hope of eventually building a bond with her.

What a heartbreaking story Vivi. The longing for a child can be so great, it leads people to criminal, crazy acts. But there are consequences. And this poor child and both couples are paying them. Not right.

JudyB- Indeed. The kidnapper had suffered multiple miscarriages before the kidnapping. There is no doubt she and her husband and family love the girl fiercely. But so does her biological family. The poor girl. It's heartbreaking all around.

Wow; what a story. And a coincidence? I have a friend who wouldn't think so.

Soledad didn't need to read the papers. A kid washed up out of nowhere, that she didn't give birth to. Clean the kid up, feed her, clothe her, then take her to the police. That's it!

What Soledad is doing now is WORSE than keeping Ana Lucia as a child, because she is truly kidnapping Ana Lucia. Whenever AnaLu wants to leave & it's not convenient for Soledad, she locks AnaLu up or has Orlando lock her up. She's purposely having Evaristo prevent Ana Lucia from finding out the truth.

Both Soledad and Orlando need to go to jail.

Anon207- "Soledad didn't need to read the papers. A kid washed up out of nowhere, that she didn't give birth to. Clean the kid up, feed her, clothe her, then take her to the police. That's it!" Yep! ITA! She didn't need to see any reports that someone was looking for the child to do the right thing by going to the police. Kids just don't magically wash up in the river.

Vivi, that story broke my heart. A soft-spoken seamstress, eh? That's... hmm. They say the truth is stranger than fiction, but fiction has been known to borrow heavily.

Thank you Jardinera for your very detailed recapping. I did watch on Friday, but kept switching back and forth from the Olympics. I watched it again on Hulu and turned on the translate to English, but I'm still having questions. Who is the woman who came into Viviriana's boutique and what does she have to do with Mariano?

Also, I have finally figured out that Nernina and Valentin are mother and son? I guess they are not on speaking terms then. It's funny how these characters have their lives wrapped around each other in a complicated way. Also the way that the Pension seems to be referred to by the upper crust as "that kind of place" as though it were in the slums or something. The scenery from the Pension looks like a giant hacienda with nice big comfortable rooms. It does not look like people who are in the slums, yet the wealthy of this novela look down on it.

Cynthia- The girl in the boutique is one of Mariano's last booty calls. Ana Leticia paid her to jump all over Mariano in an attempt to sabotage his relationship with Jennifer. In fact, after Jennifer found out about that last booty call she broke up with Mariano (which made Ana Leticia happy). Mariano then realized that he wanted to have Jenny in his life, so he gave up the other women and begged Jenny to marry him.

Thanks Vivi! I certainly hope Mariano has changed his playboy, whoring ways now.

Greetings a todos, coming out of lurking mode, I have been silently enjoying the recaps and comments for a few years. First I want to thank all the recappers for their dedication and time devoted to this task.
Did anyone catch that comment Gina made to Mariano during one of his flashbacks about Valentin's "accident" ? Gina thanked him (Mariano) for that, and he quickly told her to be quiet. Also, did someone mention who could be Valentin's sister? What about that girl that came in to Vi's boutique? I know she was one of Mariano's dama de compañia when he was still with Jenny, why would they bring her back unless she has some purpose in the story.
I agree totally that Solebad and Orlando should go to jail, Orlando is now accessory to murder and kidnapping (keeping a grown woman against her will from leaving the premises) and holding Daniel while he was beaten by Evs Thug/nietos
Analet looked like the devil when she was asking Iñaki how it felt to estinguish Daniels life until he said Basta! She was scary
I wonder if Ramiro's dad is his real dad, why does would he have such hatred for his own flesh and blood?
I speak read and write Spanish but I still miss things and am so thankful and happy to have found this wonderful and entertaining site to make my telenovelas even more enjoyable. Anytime I discuss a part of a TN people within earshot think I'm speaking of real people and are shocked at the crazy antics I am describing lol! I have to then say it's not real just Tn drama :)
MariaK

Welcome MariaK! Good thinking that the Mariana's former chickie could be Valentin's sister!!

Congratulations for coming out of lurking mode and joining the party MariaK. It really helps the recappers to know who's reading and appreciating the hard work they put in. It takes hours to put together these recaps, especially with double episodes. And it's all done for love. No salary involved. So appreciation and input is key.

We're delighted to know you're there! Welcome.

Thank you Julie and JudyB,I read the care and feeding of recappers and felt guilty for not contributing earlier to the comments, I know proper writing takes time and effort, even more so with double episodes, so once again thank you, thank you to all the recappers and commenters who make this site so enjoyable.

I am looking forward to tonights episode and the recap that follows, the avance showed Ram getting kidnapped in front of AnaLlora, and SantMarc left the hospital and is who knows where, AnaLet does not look happy.

MariaK

Welcome, MariaK! So good to have you commenting.

I can't remember disliking an antagonist as much as Facundo. Maybe LC in Amor Bravio and Facundo. I don't remember actor's name) in the role he played in Guadalupe.

Jardinera

Which telenovela was the ad for which you saw?. Looking forward to adding another one when Yago stops

There are many antagonists I've hated more, most of them toxic mothers. We are about due for a new list of them. I have been working on one.

Please forgive the recent dearth of weekend discussions. I have a friend in the hospital with treatment pending decision and a lot of activity in my opera group this month.

Urban

Wow, I can't wait to see your list. The thing I don't like about Facundo is that he thinks he knows what is best for S/M while all the time he is only thinking about himself so therefore his actions aren't really seen as antagonistic.

He is the male version of SoleBad at this point. He is possessive of Marcelo and thinks he can steamroll him due to his fragile memory. This too shall pass.

He also has no idea what Ana MeMeMe is really all about. He needs a major wake-up call.

MariaK & Miguel Thank you for the feeding today! I normally get extra full off of the usual comments, but I'm a fat @$$ & what can I say, there's always room for dessert. I personally LOVE when others contribute. There's always some angle or perspective that adds another dimension to the bigger picture. So thanks for coming out of the down-low and into this familia's warm glow. Keep contributing, we love it! :D

Jardinera, exactly, 'nueva etapa'.
It's like having a 'time jump' in a movie. It's another stage of the story, but that doesn't mean that the first 45 minutes are one movie, and the second half is a 'sequel'. It's the same movie, just like a telenovela is ONE, from beginning to end. There are no seasons.

Miguel- Google Tres Veces Ana dos temporadas. You'll see that the plan was for two seasons (temporadas), not etapas.
