Tres Veces Ana #78/79: Altered Egos OR Facing The Hiss Pitting Image

While Iñaki and Santiago get good and snakkered (I love this Norwegian-based term, snakker=talking/speaking) on two bottles of a most expensive brand of tequila, discussing the vices and virtues of Ana Leticia versus Ana Lucia, Ana MiMi has a major meltdown over her missing Marcelo whom she believes must be in his mistress’s arms.  Ana Not-So-Lucky, meanwhile, is examining SanMarco’s wedding ring and musing the meaning of the inscription: Ana Leticia.  “--Must be his wife’s name.”  (Ding-ding-ding!!!) And, Orlando, as usual, is sticking his obnoxious and greasy oar in where it is not wanted.

Orly begins bugging NSLucky about the wife and unskillfully points out how perfect people at Danzaire think they are as a couple.  That’s only for the particular performance.  He doesn’t get it.  “—Not all taxis that pass by are free.  His has a passenger in it already.”  (Apt yeah but he doesn’t stop there.)  He inserts himself as the best alternative to Mr. Alter-Ego.  (As Hubby always tells me, even the ugliest man thinks himself an alpha-male, totally irresistible if only the woman involved would remove her blinders.  –In his case, I’d rather keep them on.) The only thing of interest for Ana NSL is that he mentions he knows who Ana Leticia is-and Orly plays his hand pitifully, if not pitiably.

Yaki and SanMarco discuss Ana NSL taking his ring from him and putting him in Dutch with her sister for “losing” it.  He cannot go home now.  Listen to me, says Yaki, I don’t sermonize like Ramiro, but I give you decent advice.  SanMarco wants to follow it and grab Ana Lucia and just go to places unknown for the rest of their lives, he says, but he’s got nothing to offer her.  Besides, they’d be fugitives for life, especially as there’s still somebody out there looking for him.  Not a life she deserves, ya know?  Marcelo needs his revenge, though, and is who shows up when he's in need of an answer.  Darn it all.....

Orly mentions that Ramiro told him back in San Nicolas once about A Lemeeeeee, when they first met, that she was from a wealthy family and well-connected.  She knows that much, says A NSL.  He’s going to hurt her badly one day, but he won’t say more.  Well, it’s not his place to tell her the rest of it.  (Shees!  Never is!)  She gets pissed and tells him to stop wasting her time.  He’s there for her when the time comes, ready to continue with the rejection and insults—cuz he’s her friend.  Just remember I told you so….

Back at the manse, Ana Laura and Ramiro have a discussion of whether A Lucia and she sense each other subconsciously at any time.  On the other side of the city, meanwhile, A NSL hears music coming from Nerina’s room.  Nerina philosophizes on the connection with various sentiments in life: sadness, happiness, nostalgia.  It can be miraculously medicinal; it can show us what we have to lose; it can nourish the soul; it allows us the means to continue dreaming and hoping. (This music is beautiful and is a perfect counterpoint to the message beling delivered.  Bravo to the A team of writers and music editors at Uni for including this scene.)

Back at the manse again, over tea/coffee, A Llora mentions that Valentin’s problem is believing that Ram was secretly Gina’s lover while they dated.  She mentions that she cleared that error up and Ram reminds her that with Gina, anything could be expected (but is always a big surprise to one and all).  They also discuss doing something wild like a weekend fling by themselves.

Across town at the foundation, TinTin has asked Val to dinner and she’s agreed.  They’re heading off in a taxi as Ram’s papi, crooked Edmundo, waits in his car in the shadows.  After they’ve gone, he uses his key-holder status to get into the building and her office, then gets on Val’s computer and transfers funds to some credit card from a bank in gawd knows where.

Yaki keeps SanMarco at his apartment and has him stay the night.  Santi says the battle between him and his alter ego continues daily.  He says he’s really ill and doesn’t know what to do.  (Viewerville suggests looking for psychiatric help, but then what do we know, right?)

The next morning, A MiMi has A Llora call Ram to ask if he knows where Marcello is.  Ram says no, but he plans to find out and will let her know.   A Llora mentions that Ram has suggested going away with him for the weekend, but she has her doubts—especially since The Family wouldn’t approve.  A MiMi is like, hey you’re an adult now--and so is he.  Might as well enjoy your first time with a man with the one you love, and so do what you like; but on the other hand, maybe it’s not such a good idea. A MiMi then, to make her point, maliciously holds up the metal leg and suggests that seeing this might make eager-beaver Ram limp and wimp out in the end.  Bummer.

Parte 2~~
Ram pays a visit to  Yaki’s bachelor pad looking for SanMarco.  He has found him and blames Yaki for causing trouble between Marcelo and Ana Leticia on purpose, hoping it will drive the two of them apart.  So what if he did?  Shame, shame, is Ram’s self-righteous reply.  He goes into the bedroom to wake up Santi but comes out with Marcelo The Mean.  He tells Ram he’s well aware of what Yaki did the night before and why.  It’s not the first time his wife’s seduced a buddy of his… Ram says he’s apologized already for that.  But not to me you haven’t.  Alright, says Ram.  I apologize.  Marco’s fine with it.  He knows the reasons.  He married a scorpion (and for once I gotta agree to a very apt use of this expression).    Let’s move on.  They head over to Ram’s apartment so Marco can shower and borrow some clothes.  He’s got lots to do and so little time for it.

At the manse again, Ernestina thinks about the fortune-teller’s mentioning a third sister.  Papi was busy gettin’ busy all over the place and there were three sisters, not just her and Leonora, she tells Leo.

Ram and Marco discuss integration of the two personalities and Ram says yeah, this is possible and not to fight it.  Marco says nope.  He won’t allow it.  Besides, he’s got to get his bit of venganza.  The guy/s who planned his death have got to be made to pay for it all.  He lost three years of his life and he is still in danger.  He leaves without telling Ram anything more about that.  Oh, and yeah, let Ana Leticia suffer a bit more with his absence.  Tell her you saw me and I won’t be home tonight again, either.

In Uptown, Viridiana wants Soledad to come that evening to the dress show to assist with last minute needs of the models’ gowns.  By the way, she adds, have your daughter come also.  Sole calls home to pretend to invite her and cuts Ana NSL off at the knees by lying about her answer that she really cannot come and gives her apologies.  Dumb A NSL thinks this call is very strange and relates all to  Rem and Nerina.  Rem makes excuses to cover for Sole, but Nerina plots to go herself and find out what she can to supposedly help learn more about Ana Lucia’s family.

Miranda begs Erni to come to the fashion show that night and she finally agrees.

Rodrigo calls Horny old Sanchez about finalizing the sale of his coastal properties.  Ram shows up and takes a call from A Lemee asking if he located her hubby.  Ram says yes but he’s got bidnez to take care of and won’t be home again this evening either.  She accuses Marco of spending the night with his lover again.  Ram says she’s wrong and tuff tootsies if she refuses to believe that.  As she’s called from her office, Yaki’s heard the conversation and sticks the knife in her back and twists.  She gets ticked off at Yaki and heads off to gripe at Tío Mariano about her hubby hassles.  He promises to question Marco the next time they’re together again.  She guilts him with her spoiled brat ways and wiles her way back into his good graces again.  (Blech!!  I need another shower.  ¡Basta!  Really?  He’s not bothered with her going seductively with his shirt buttons????)

A MiMi surprises Mo by telling her she’s not only aware he and Erni been hiding the ID bracelet  as supposed proof of Ana Lucia’s probable existence, but she’ll head the charge to find her.  Erni is dressed to go to the fashion show and once A MiMi learns it is Viridiana whose creations are being shown, she agrees to attend with Erni and Mo.

Tío tells Erni about A MiMi’s decision to help locate Ana Lucia, who’s enthused by the change of attitude.

Scheming MiMi, meanwhile, races to call Claudia, the blond bombshell we wondered about, the good news.  Mo’s to be at the fashion show with her this evening and it’s a great way to insinuate herself with moneyed Mo and wind up as the Mrs. Mo.  Seems Claudia’s already gotten her invitation and will see her there.

Meanwhile, Ram and A Llora run into Valeria and TinTin at the concert.  TinTin invites them to join them at the restaurant and A Llora agrees over Ram’s initial objections.

Miranda and Cardio Hubby grouse over her plans to get Rod and Erni back together again using the fashion show and the reinauguration of the hotel as the means.

Nerina arrives at the Gala but is stopped at the gate since she doesn’t have her invitation.  However, she’s saved by Claudia, who, Viewerville isn’t too overly impactado to learn, is Nerina’s errant daughter.  “--She’s with me.  ¡Hola, Mamá!”

TinTin maneuvers again and makes it clear to Ram he still blames him for stealing Gina and now A Llora from him.  Ram reminds Violentin about the stalker pictures on the wall of his apartment and all the empty liquor bottles.  How did TinTin get them off the wall so quickly if he cannot walk?  Oh, TinTin’s got somebody who looks out for him who helped and yeah, he’s much more than a simple accomplice!

In the bar prior to the event’s beginning, shameless Claudia insults her mother’s 10 year old jacket.  “—Some things never go out of fashion, I know, but don’t you think you could have worn something other than a 10-year old jacket?”  Well, the earrings she left her are nice enough, at least, she figures.   Nerina swallows back the tears and suggests she wasn’t quite able to be so extravagant, considering how her children stole everything she had and left her out on the street.  Claudia, who has changed her surname to avoid suspicion of who she really is, insists that ma was a wastrel, spending her inheritance on a man who was on his deathbed from an incurable disease.  What else could she do to stop her and to know how much was really left?  “--Bad kids but a pain for a mother.   Champagne?  ¡Salud!”

In the meantime, Marcelo makes a nighttime visit to Ana Lucia’s to warn her to end her fight for Santiago’s love which is the only thing that seems to keep Marco from conquering his alter ego once and for all.  Ana Lucha tells Marcelo to drop dead (again?) and no, she’s never giving up on her Santiago, no matter what.  Marco warns her that love has got to die once and for all.  Why is he there and why did he fall in love with her if he loves his wife—Ana Leticia, the name on the wedding band.  It’s because they are so much alike and so different all at the same time.  Santiago is only a small part of who Marcelo truly is and he knows she cannot live with him this way.  Santiago is a weaker, tinier, part of him and he’s not giving in to that little snippet of whom he really is.  She refuses him and to stop fighting for Santiago to emerge and come back to her.

He won’t say more but what he knows will end up hurting her and disgusting her so much she’ll let Santi go for good.  All he’ll do to give her a clue to the truth and all the lies that surround her now.  “—You are not unique.  Oops, I should say you are not the sole daughter. (It’s a play on the word único/a.)  If you want the truth, then begin by asking Soledad about Sofia Hernandez.  It’s her daughter.”  Her mother had another daughter?  He tells her if she’s so interested in getting at the truth, then pull that thread loose.  When you know the truth about Sofia Hernandez, then is when you’ll know your own past.

Back in the hotel’s bar, Nerina learns the truth about Valentin. Claudia admits she’s changed her last name and also blames her mother for turning TinTin into a good-for-nothing. Nerina insists that trashy hussler of a girlfriend was Valentin’s ultimate disgrace and his reason for turning into such a loser.  Claudia has to admit she was always right about Gina, She squeezed every last peso out of him before she abandoned him, but that slutty, grafter of a girlfriend of his has paid the price.  She committed suicide and is long dead now; and Valentin is now a paralytic, stuck in a wheelchair, playing the oboe in the park every day for handouts.

~~end parte 2~
======================
parte 3~

Said errant son de TinTin maneuvers his way into the front passenger side of the car.  Evil music accompanies the wheelchair’s being put into Ram’s car trunk.

Before Marco leaves the rooming house he takes something shiny (the key to the safety deposit box?) out of Santi’s closet and makes to leave.  He runs into Remedios and greets her as Sra.  Rem is frightened in the change and knows that’s NOT her Santiago.  A Lucha agrees it was Marcelo who showed his face tonight.

The so-called “Fashion Show” begins.  Erni, Mo and A MiMi show up fashionably late –oh, and don’t pardon that pun.  What’s a worse pun is calling this show a fashion show.  It’s the worst of the worst in dress design I’ve ever seen Uni present.  It’s no wonder Mo stood up clapping and cheering Bravo!  He was out to impress.  Maybe it was the 1080p of my HD tv, but the dress material looked cheap and the poor models looked not only starved, but as photogenic as wooden beanpoles sans the beans.  Anyway, during the auction, Claudia, Mo (who recognizes her), and Scheming MiMi vie for the dress.  A MiMi takes it at a mere 100,000 pesos, which is approximately $5500.00 US.  (Whew!  Thank gawd! I don’t feel quite as bad and deprived, now.)

Claudia fills in Nerina on Mo’s reputation and relationship to A MiMi.  He’s her very wealthy, envied, and much sought-after prize: great husband material and Claudia has her eye on him.  She plans on corralling the dude and quickly becoming the next Mrs. Mo.

Meanwhile, A Lucha remembers her mother’s odd behavior and her once mentioning this Sofia Hernandez and denying she knew that name.  Ana begins searching high and low for her mother’s locking jewelry box.  Rem catches her and tells her it is wrong to look for it and even wronger not to clean up the mess before Sole returns home and is wise to the search.

Backstage, Soledad is the arranging dresses that were auctioned off and avoiding going out front to congratulate the models in hopes of not meeting up with anybody that might manage to put her and A Lucha’s relationship in danger or herself behind bars.

Suddenly, she hears someone enter and then a voice that sounds like A Lucha but when she looks up she realizes that she’s now not face to face with her “daughter”—definitely NOT a sweet faced angel like Ana Lucia.  No, it’s one of the two other triplets—and the WRONG one, at that!

Looking forward to the recap, Jardinera.

I really enjoy the chemistry between Mariano and Viridiana. Too bad that the more we learn about his past behavior, the less I think he deserves her.

Meanwhile, Ramiro is vying for some kind of sainthood, having to spend the evening basically on a double date with Valentin, who he knows is BSC and out to get him.

We got more insight about the Santiago/Marcelo split personality thing. It's not that Santiago is a different person than Marcelo. Marcelo admitted to Ramiro that Santiago is the softer/gentler side of himself, that he's trying to get rid of so that he can get revenge on those who betrayed him. The Marcelo we've been seeing is the hard side of Marcelo. Original Recipe Marcelo had BOTH sides to his personality. Now, he's been split in two, with one side being all soft, and the other being all hard. So neither personality is the REAL Marcelo. In order to become a whole (sane) person again, both sides are going to have to come to terms with each other.

Looking forward to the recap!

So let me see if I've got this straight. Santiago loves Ana Lucia AND Ana Leticia, because even though he cannot remember her, she's still in his heart. Oh, and he's willing to give up Ana Lucia for her, but he'd still prefer not to have sex with his wife...or his lover. Even though he's now had sex with both. Um, ok.

And Marcelo hates and loves both women. His wife who he wants vengeance on, but still wants to bang until he's ready for his revenge. And his lover, who he's also enjoying even though he wants her out of the way cause he thinks her love is preventing Marcello from taking over.

Geez, these women can't go wrong. Both Santiago and Marcello are quite the catch. 🙄

Anyways, my prediction is Ana Lucia will get pregnant, but the arrogant Marcello will take over and insist the two of them get married for the child. I'd like to see real feelings develop for the other side of his personality too. Besides, I think Ana Lucia has more chemistry with Marcello than Santiago. I'm looking forward to more of their scenes.

Welcome, Michelle and Mercie, to my weekend free-for-all.

Part one is up and pardon if I've sheered the sheep a bit, but I refuse to spend all darned day at this again, especially on a weekend! Love the recapping, but at times......

Thanks, Jardinera. Part I is a wonderful read and just the right length! Looking forward to the rest.

Vivi, may I just say thank goodness it turned out Santiago is not a "whole person" on his own, because if we are left in the end with this good-natured hemming and hawing galan, that would leave some (or much) to be desired.

Welcome, Mercie and Michelle. Michelle, I think Marcelo seems to have some feeling for Ana Lu already - from the same residual effect that Santi has them for Ana Let, but agree it would be interesting to see which way this will go.

I have an update on programming guys. Looks like the premiere for El Color de la Pasión will be a 2hr hour special starting at 8pm/7c on September the 6th.

-Jon

Gracias, Jardinera.

Marcelo's cruelty to Ana Lucia was over the top and this is the man he wants to be? It might help him enact a violent revenge but it will alienate him from everyone except Facundo. It's a good thing Ana Lucia has a strong sense of self.

Which has to continue to fight off Orlando. He's getting closer and closer to the dark side.

If ECdlP is 2 hours next week, does that mean that TVA is at 10?

Thanks, Jardinera. Looking forward to parte dos!

Thanks Jon and sorry Jardinera, Mercie (Mercedes) is my mom, who was logged in my phone. For some reason, the bots would post my comments under her name despite me changing my login. But I'm with you on recaps taking so much time, but luckily we're now back down to 1 hour epis :)

Welcome, Michelle . ITA with everything you said. My head hurts just tryna figure it out. I think he's just as confused as we are.

thank you, Jardinera. Wow, you are a devoted recapper. So sorry that these two hour shows are swallowing your weekends. Not right..just not right.

Yikes..Marcelo is as scary as Santiago is wimpy. My advice to AnaLu is to grab your scarves and head for the hills. Marcelo now joins Your notyourmother and Orlandon't to try to manipulate and control you :-[ I say let your BSC Sister deal with Marcelo. We will than see who the survivor would be .

hubba and I went on many double dates with friends but never with anyone quite as demented abd wacky as Val.

I really want Llora to go on a vacay w/ Ram. We all know that it's her shyness & insecurity, not necessarily her virtues holding her back. I would like them to at least learn to feel comfortable, where she's forced to have him tend to her leg at night so she can finally learn to trust him.

Not part of this epi but idk why Ana Let was surprised that Ev knew Marc was alive, didn't he tell her at their rendezvous pt (to which she refused to believe him) & again after Jennys funeral (when she believed him at last).

Glad Claudia clarified her relation to Tin, finally. Her treatment of Nerina was unkind, however I'm glad someone called Nerina on her story of being "abandoned" by her kids. Playing victim doesn't become you, my dear.

Chana wanting to keep tabs on Ev & the ladies make me think she could be the "powerful friend" that was behind the accident. Marcelo spent some time in San Nicolas & could've been acquainted w/ her. Also, Isidro is back. He may be another suspect along w/ Dreadmundo. Isidro owns San Nic, so I'm curious if he's got some power moves in this. I'm also afraid that Rodrigo's account in the foundation files will be stolen & the contract w/ Isidro will break as a result. I only say this b/c of the way Isidro came back in the picture regarding his inquiry to receiving the remaining payments.

The fashion show looked tacky. Why is the designer introducing her own designs, they couldn't afford an announcer? I thought it was hilarious that Ana Let scolded Marrano for standing up during the show. Didn't get why AnaLu didn't just show up anyway, I also find it unrealistic that she didn't catch on to Sole not wanting her there.

Leo finally said Erne's name, her uptightness is stifling. Maybe Funky might soften her, and vice versa. Erne still hasn't stumbled upon Rod, guess we've got that to look forward to *major eye roll*

This TN needs an award for the most convoluted plot in TN history. I'm still committed, but just about lost patience.

Looking forward to the rest of the recap.

I actually would've never guessed that Claudia was Nerina's daughter/Valentin's sister. I honestly had no clue. She seemed to almost enjoy revealing some hard truths to her mother: Gina's suicide and Valentin's paralysis.

I think Ana Leticia was jealous of all those models haha. Especially when Mariano was fawning over them. I wonder how her encounter with Soledad will go. Obviously she doesn't know who Soledad is but I hope Soledad doesn't do anything stupid.

I'm still wondering who will win the battle of Marcelo vs Santiago.

The univisión site for it still has 10pm/9c listed but I checked the app and it changed to "Gran Estreno - 2 Horas 8pm/7c". I don't know if that'll be definite (8-10pm) but if it is, TVA will most likely get pushed off to the 10pm slot.

-Jon

You're welcome! :)

"And, Orlando, as usual, is sticking his obnoxious and greasy oar in where it is not wanted."

Terrific description of Orlando, Jardinera, and why he is so UNAPPEALING, both physically and emotionally. Ugh.

And speaking of unappealing...thought all the dresses in the fashion show looked tacky and ugly. Blue Light special at KMart. Models were depressing as well. Tio Mariano must be in love indeed to give that group a standing ovation.

I still like "Hard" Marcelo better. He gives off a dangerous, sexy pirate vibe that's a lot more exciting than noodle head Santiago. The latter is so sweet, you feel like you need an insulin shot afterwards. Blah.

Part I terrific. Yesss, keep it short Jardinera. Weekends are too precious to waste.

Oh and Welcome Michelle. And Ana, "Mercie"...what a lovely name your mother has.

Amiga gemela, I agree. Hard Marcelo wakes me up after an incessantly whiny Santi. I'm gonna give our Ojos Azul a break & say he was being supportive of Viri, rather than a leery perv. You can tell she's tamed him into a tail-wagging puppy anytime he sees her.

Meh, we like to annoy her and call her Benz or just "Lady"/"Woman" lol.

Jardinera...I see you had the same reaction to the fashion show that I did. Frankly I was shocked that they would present such a garage sale type collection as fashion intended for the very wealthy potential clientele of Vridiana's shop. I like the character and since I'm a noodle-head myself,I'm hoping Tio Mariano can be redeeme and that those two will live happily ever after. But ay yi yi those dresses and those models. Epic fail. Even Ana Leticia's Ramera Wear looked classier. Or better made anyway.

Thank you, Jardinera. I really enjoyed your recap.

Orlando continues to be a pain in the butt and seems to be a growing pain in the butt. I still do not trust him being Ana Lucía's partner in the act.

I found it interesting that Ana Lucía was not dissuaded by Marcelo admitting that he was a killer . Uh, he and Santiago do share the same body. ??? Guess I am not thinking with "telenovela" logic where everyone ends up at the same pensión, etc.

Too bad Marcelo did not just tell Ana Lucía the whole truth.

Even in public, Ana Leticia was all over tío Mariano. Yuk!

Thanks so much, Jardinera. Now, get on with the rest of your weekend!

Yes, the fashion show was a disappointment. We've seen way cuter outfits in Viri's boutique than at the show. I never understand why the fashion shows in these shows are so disappointing when the main characters were such amazing fashions every day. I know there's a Project Runway-Mexico. Surely one or a few of the designers on that show would LOVE the opportunity to have their designs showcased in one of these fake fashion shows in a telenovela.

If Ana Lucia ever wants a sane SantMarc by her side, then she's going to have to accept that the tough Marcelo is a part of who he really is, as well as his sweet/sappy side. Ramiro seems to be the only person who clearly sees both personalities as being the same man. He'd already seen both sides of Marcelo before his accident and split personality.

Santiago/Marcelo does have two sides that need to be integrated but making him a "killer" seems to be a deal breaker for me. They could have made him a tough guy without pushing it to that extent.

Well, Ramiro's a killer now too, but I don't think the writers are counting that shootout against SantMarc or Ramiro. The one person we did see Marcelo killing, he believed had killed Gina. And now after Ana Leticia's flashback, it seems that might be true.

Yes, amig@s. I am now back from a pamper session at the nail spa. Well deserved after so diligently plinking away on the keyboard today. I admit to being frustrated at how little truth Marcelo told-- in fact, miniscule. Loved the brilliant blue ramera wear A MiMi wore to the gagme gala. I loved Claudia's golden godess glimmery come me cash conscious gown also. If. I didn't already know better, 'd say neither woman shops at Vi's.

Oops, color me cash consciousous! Autocorrect sucks at times.

O/T: Movie recommendation: "Ilusiones, S.A." (2015) Jaime Camil's latest movie: very charming, beautifully photographed and a happy ending! : )

Jardinera..so what color are your nails now? I have never had a manicure and do not paint my fingernails (to0 much dishwashing) , but I do like to paint my toenails electric blue. HOpe the rest of your weekend was good.

Jardinera

I think it's wonderous how you are able to translate the conversational Spanish into written English. You are able to summarize perfectly what is being said in Spanish, condense it, and not lose what was actually taking place.

Kudos to you!!

Thanks, Jardinera. These double episodes have been fun but I'm so glad you can rest after doing double-duty for us. Thanks for pointing out the ominous music while Ramiro was putting Tin-Tin's wheelchair in the car. I was wondering why they stayed on that scene so long, but I guess something's in the works.

I want Ramiro and AnaLaura to have their weekend. I get a quick out of him trying to gently reel her in.

I get a kick out of Mariano trying to woo Viridiana too. The best part of the fashion show was him jumping up with applause.

So Nerina thought her son Tin-Tin didn't stand up to greet her years ago because he was rude and unfeeling. Now she knows he didn't stand up because his legs are paralyzed. Boy, she must feel so stupid. Nerina reminded me of ditzy Rose from Golden Girls.

Niecie- It was just the other day that Nerina saw Valentin, since he and his sister left her penniless and homeless. It was the same evening of her show when Erni went backstage and ran I to SantMarc and Soledad slapped AnaLu to make her leave. It wasn't years ago that the encounter where he wouldn't/couldn't stand happened. But yeah, she's going to feel pretty bad. But he didn't tell her, and let her believe he wouldn't stand to greet her because he was still mad about his inheritance and her treatment of Gina.

Vivi, thanks for clarifying. The flashback was in black & white so I assumed it was years ago. Seems like Nerina and Valentin should be able to get closer, as he doesn't despise her like the sister does. Nerina better not bring up Gina though.

Somebody will have to. Valentin is in deep denial about that cheap grifter.

I renew my theory of him not being paralyzed after all.

I don't know, but something tells me that Samuel (Mariano's Lawyer) is the one who helped Marcelo after his accident.

Urban- Everyone has told Valentin that Gina was a grifter and a gold-digger who never loved him. Heck, even Gina told him to his face when she dumped him and left him paralyzed and broke. But he still refuses to believe it, and insists on blaming others (mainly Ramiro).

Anon10:38 That might explain why he got over his initial shock of seeing Marcelo so quickly, but I also chalked it up to the obvious scene cut right between his shock and then him talking naturally. I don't know why he'd help Marcelo, him being dead would've left Samuel w/o owing him any debts. But who knows, the writers don't reason the way we do & always seem to throw a surprise our way. I like the anticipation of it all, nonetheless.

Thanks for the rest of this, Jardinera. OK, so I think it's unanimous that the fashion show was awful, right? The one that AnaLet bought was one of the worst. (It also looks like nothing else she wears.) I'm sure it will somehow be cute on her. Gag.

The things in Viridiana's boutique are so nice that it's hard to believe that those monstrosities came from her. Oh well... it's all for charity.

I'm not worried about Soledad's reaction when she faces AnaLet for the first time, but I am very curious how it will affect her attitude about keeping the secret. I think it should scare her so badly she'll want to move to Poland just to make sure she never runs into anyone from that family again.

Tks, Victoria I do try.😀

Susanlynn, sparky dark pink. My daughter got me hooked along while back.😰

Urban, I too suspected that TinTin has been holding something back like that, also.

I am confused as to why Claudia and Valentin hate their mother Nerina so much and why she was dropped of in the street with nothing. Is it because there was nothing to inherit because of Nerina's husband's illness and medical bills? If this was their father, wouldn't they want their father to get medical care or were they only interested in killing him off so that they could inherit a fortune? And how is it that they sold the house (wasn't it Nerina's home too?) and Nerina got nothing? Maybe they don't have community property laws in Mexico and the wife gets nothing?

This comment has been removed by the author.

Cynthia- You answered your own question. Part of the issue is that Nerina never let on just how much her husband's illness was draining their finances (we also know that Edmundo was robbing her too). Caludia and Valentin were greedy and felt entitled to the inheritance they always expected. Valentin had the added motive of Gina spurring him on to get as much money as possible, and the fact that Nerina had always made it clear she didn't like/trust Gina. And from what we just heard from Claudia, she feels like Nerina always gave her father and her brother all of her attention, and felt neglected. None of this is any reason to sue your mother and leave her penniless, right after your father has died. At the end of the day, it just seems like Val and Claudia were greedy, spoiled rotten kids who had no respect for their mother.

I'm sure somehow that Edmundo drained far more than whatever had to be paid out for the medical bills; there is such a thing as insurance there. And Nerina likely knew nada about dinero so she couldn't catch what was going on and her husband was in no position to.

Ramiro is going to be crushed when he finds out about this. His father should end up in the slammer.

Vivi, I agree with your assessment of Val's and Claudia's greed. They definitely sound like spoiled brats.

Thanks Vivi. It seems that way to me too, that two spoiled adult children took revenge on their poor mother and kicked her to the curb. I am hoping they reap what they have sown! Looking forward to tonight's episodes. :)

I agree that Val and Claudia are greedy, spoiled brats, but who made them that way? Who in their right mind would keep from their grown-ass (pardon my French) children that their father has a terminal illness so as not to "worry" said "children." And when she discovered Gina in Vals room, as she flung the door open to say something to him, she called him "Bebe!" Yup, she spoiled her "babies" and they only responded accordingly: gimme more, more, and more. Too bad for her, but she's partly responsible for their actions and attitudes, so now she has to deal with it. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!

Thanks to all of the wonderful recappers!!! I'm back from vacation and catching up on my recaps. Unfortunately I couldn't dvr the episodes so missed the Kmart runway show. Very disappointed!

Chana said that Erni and Leo's sister is much younger so how can it be Sole? She looks as old as Leo to me. I think it would be funny if it was Viri!

So Santi and Marcelo are the extremes of one person! Sheesh. I can't see AnaLu dealing well with the Marc side but AnaLet seemed to do okay with both... yet she cheated....so maybe the Santi side doesn't do it for her. SantiMarc needs a third sister but Llora ain't it.

Looking forward to actually watching an episode of this crazy, convoluted, frustrating show.

Carvivlie: "SantiMarc needs a third sister but Llora ain't it." Well, maybe he needs the OTHER third sister... you know, SOLEDAD! Hahahahaha!!

I had the impression (possibly wrong) that Leonora and Ernestina were close-ish in age. Whether or not Soledad qualifies as "much younger" depends on how you define "much younger," I guess.

Who knows - maybe it is Viri. Would that make her related to Mariano? (He's the Anas' father's brother, but I'm not sure whether Ernestina was their mother's mother, or the father's mother.)

Julie- Ernestina was their mother's mother, and Mariano is their father's brother.

Despite the actors' real ages, Soledad is supposed to be much younger than Ernestina. Young enough to have had a young child (Sofia) die just months before she found Ana Lucia (Ernestina's grandchild).

OK, so in the unlikely event that the 3rd sister is Viri, at least she's not Mariano's cousin. (Or his niece.) I'm not 100% sure I like him for her, but I'll let them work that out on their own.

Anyway, the doubt Carvivlie expressed was that Soledad looks to be Leonora's age, not Ernestina's. I figured, though, that if anyone thinks Soledad looks to be closer to Leonora's age (whatever that might be), that's not necessarily a deal-breaker. Sole might have been on the high end of the childbearing years when AnaLu came along - since she said she couldn't have any more after Sofia. (Unless she said there was a special health issue, but I don't remember that.)

However, I don't think Soledad looks nearly old enough to have been at the end of her childbearing years when AnaLu came along, so... so I'd say it's all wide open to speculation for now, and the call of blood is as good an excuse as any for them all to end up being related.

Just as an FYI, here are the real ages of the older actors. I really don't think these matter so much. Notice, for example, the age difference between Leonor and Facundo, yet they are supposed to be around the same age.

Character/Actor’s real age
Evaristo/86
Rodrigo/69
Ernestina/68
Leonor/63
Soledad/63
Remedios/62
Nerina/61
Chana/60
Edmundo/59
Facundo/54
Mariano/44
Viridiana/41

Thanks, Vivi. Wow, most of these actors are older than I would have guessed, and a handful are a lot.

Edmundo and Mariano are the only ones who look older, but that's just because of their hair.

I meant to say a handful are a lot older.

Carvivlie said "Chana said that Erni and Leo's sister is much younger so how can it be Sole?" We might be reminded that Chana is in league and paid by Evilistor so she could very easily be lying.
