Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 26 (Aug 15, 2016) 1st Half

In a short refrito, the unfried Luis Montero is seen escaping up the stairs of the prison so he can be with his daughter and grandson. [Lots of luck, Luis—I hope you trip and fall and no one can put you back together again.]

Carlos is fixing a meal in the cabaña for his little family. Marissa and Iggy interrupt and Mar asks Paco to take Pedrito out to play. Then she tells Fer about the fire at the prison and that Luis was roasted to death in the kitchen. Fernanda has a look of disbelief on her face.

Fer calls Amelia to tell her Luis is dead. It’s hard for her to believe, but it’s true. While she’s on the phone, Carlos, Marissa and Ignacio talk about Luis. Carlos loathed him, but wouldn’t wish such a horrible death on anyone. Fer finishes her conversation and tells the group Amelia isn’t going to cut short her honeymoon.

Iggy wants to ask Fer if she knows of any relatives Luis might gave. The three of them knew him best, but they are also the ones Luis hurt the most. He’s asking because if no relation claims the body, he’ll be buried in a common grave without a marker. Fer says, then, they need to do that. Marissa gently tells her if that’s what she wants, Fer will have to acknowledge she’s Luis’ daughter.

Fer goes outside to clear her head. All the awful confrontations she had with Luis get rewound and reviewed. Carlos comes out to comfort her. She tells him about all the times Luis asked for her forgiveness and a little affection and now it’s too late. Carlos reminds her Luis only caused them all harm and she shouldn’t feel guilty about not responding to his petitions for forgiveness.

Fer and her big heart realize he was a human capable of remorse and changing, but she wasn’t ready to forgive him and now he’ll never know. She feels terrible. Carlos holds her tightly.

Mariana and her diminishing family are at the breakfast table and instead of eating, she is objecting strongly to Herny’s accusation that she didn’t care a whit about Cam’s whereabouts when she was gone. She says she’s guilty of many things, but she’s not taking the blame for something that was not hers to assume. Cam says how can she say that when she’s the one that threw her out of the house? Mariana comes right back to remind her how actually she left on her own accord to go live with Vladi and when that didn’t work out, back she came. Mariana tried to tell her beforehand it wasn’t going to work—Vladi didn’t love her.

Herny can only laugh in her face when Mariana, in all seriousness says she threw Cam out in order to discipline her. Mariana says Cam needed disciplining because she was so rebellious. Cam retorts that she was acting up because Mariana forced her to testify against her friend, who ended up with a 10-year sentence when Mariana clearly said it was just to frighten Fer. Mariana reminds her that it was her own father that forced her. Besides, nobody put a gun to her head. Mariana believes Cam went along because she was pissed Carlos chose Fer and not Cam. There was no obligation to testify against her; the obligation came from her father to throw herself at Carlos. So don’t look at her, missy—Mariana knows who she is. Herny cuts short the table talk. He gets up, throws his napkin down and says it’s over. He tells Cam to pack up, they are leaving.

Felipe walks into the hacienda with his godmother, Blanca. He’s there to pick up Camila. They were going to go to the movies. Cam comes in to tell him she has to cancel the date because she and Herny are packing up to leave the place at once. Cam tells him Hernan and Mariana had a fight because he didn’t know Mariana was the one who kicked her out of the house. Felipe didn’t know that either. Cam admits that though Mariana said a lot of things that hurt, ultimately she told some truths. Felipe reminds her that Hernan and Mariana are a lot alike—or they wouldn’t have stuck it out for so many years.

Carlos can tell Fer is not convinced she shouldn’t feel guilty about Luis. He tries to tell her that Luis alone is responsible for his own actions. She replies that she feels guilty for not showing him one little bit of affection, affection for the person who gave her life. Carlos corrects her. Luis disappeared from her life. She’s here because of her mother [AND PEDRO]. He realizes it’s a big shock to take in, even he finds it hard to believe Luis is dead, but he’s not going to let her feel guilty about that. He enfolds Fer in his arms once again. Fer, left alone has a few more flashbacks of Luis and how she rejected him. Carlos is inside feeling sad he can’t do anything for her.

Teo and Izzy are having a spaghetti lunch [how decadent for Izzy]. Izzy senses there is something wrong. Teo tells her he didn’t like the way he treated LaMalquerida. Izzy proceeds to list how irresponsible she’s been and what an objectionable little snot she is, Teo replies that LaMalquerida is inexperienced but open, uncomplicated and didn’t deserve to be treated like that. He tells Izzy that if she and LaMalquerida are going to be working for him, he expected better of her. She reminds him she’s not his employee. Regardless, he tells her, her attitude is off-putting. Izzy is left speechless and not a single frizzy lock gets tossed.

LaMalquerida shows up at the flower shop and is talking to Maribel. (Poor Maribel, she’s either babysitting while Fer stars in her own show or she minds the shop while Fer rescues her other friends.) Maribel wonders what’s wrong with her—turning down an opportunity when life around her is changing. It seems she doesn’t want to change with it. LaMalquerida finally confesses she escaped from prison. Maribel is stunned and horrified. She swears she won’t tell anyone and before the conversation can continue, el Doctorcito Arteaga shows up to take LaMalquerida out to celebrate her new gig.

Herny tells Camila he’s made up his mind to leave. He doesn’t want to follow the same path he was in anymore. Mariana is only interested in the inheritance and vengeance by making life miserable for Amelia and Fernanda. Camila has to remind him that not so long ago, he was just like Mariana. Yes, but he had a chance to think about his priorities while Camila was missing. He admits she has a point, but with the loss of a child, life changes. What good is money if it can’t be passed on to a child. Herny doesn’t change his mind about leaving and Camila is ok with it—they’re all the family she needs.

The mismatched pair of doctor and fugitive are in a restaurant. LaMalquerida is clearly very nervous. Doc can tell. She tells him it’s because she’s about to become a star and she no longer wants to be one. Arteaga doesn’t understand. She worked so hard to get this far. He leans in and says he wants to take advantage of her indecision and ask her something. Our doctorcito wants to start running bases with LaMalquerida and he just doesn’t know how to hit the ball into the field to get to first base. In one of the most awkward come-ons I’ve seen in a long time, the “something” is a kiss. It sort of comes off as a perfunctory, medically approved, coming together of anatomically correct parts of the mouth—but she accepts it and his romantic pitter-patter that he probably memorized from a self-help book for guys who feel awkward around girls. (Don’t get me wrong. I like the doc—I just think the director went to lunch when the two were doing the scene.)

Now it’s Maribel and Javier who are together in the flower shop being a bit awkward. Maribel has a secret and can’t reveal it. Jav says he can wait. She likes that they’re going to go out to continue her therapy sessions. They banter back and forth a little more and then she thinks to herself she detects a little of the feelings in Javier for her that she has for him. She smiles and her whole face lights up.

Blanca tells Hernan and Camila there’s nothing to keep her there either. All the happiness left the house because of ambition and wickedness. Mariana enters the room as Blanca is saying that it’s all Mariana’s fault. Mariana says no, it was Amelia’s fault for getting pregnant and dishonoring their father. Blanca says that’s not the whole story. Mariana knows well she deliberately announced Amelia’s pregnancy to her father. Mariana again says no, he merely heard what she had said. She continues, she’s the only one with enough courage to say how things really are, so that makes her a villain. Mariana wants to talk to Herny alone. Blanca turns to leave and tells Mariana she had warned her, she’s losing everything as a result of all her errors.

Herny doesn’t think there is anything to talk about. Mari says it’s a “goodbye” talk and they owe it to each other for all the years they’ve been together. Herm acquiesces and Camila also leaves the room. She tells Herny she agrees with his decision to leave. She doesn’t want to live with anyone who won’t accept the responsibility of things he did wrong. She can accept her own and she knows he was always in agreement with what they did. She rewinds his memory banks and flashes back so he can visually recall all the incidents she’s relating. Maybe, she tells him, she deserves to be in prison as much as Luis, but Hernan was a terrible father to try to sell his daughter. Now everything is forgotten, merely because he’s sorry? Nope, doesn’t work that way. For Herny it’s enough.

Mariana says she loved him despite his errors. Hernan claims he loved her, too. She rebuffs his claim. She knows he married her for money. He tries to tell her it wasn’t true, but she contradicts him—they’d only met twice. She loved him, all the while knowing he couldn’t forget his first wife.

Hernan repeats that he wants to change. Mariana repeats he never loved her, never loved her. So, she doesn’t want to be around him. Of all the things she could envision in this world, it’s not love and certainly not if it comes from him. She’d rather be alone than with someone who doesn’t love her. He tries one more time to say he does love her, but she denies it’s true. She’s tired of begging for crumbs of love, starting with her father. She turned that desire for love into desire for money. It’s over. Hernan takes off his wedding ring, says goodbye and leaves. Mariana tries desperately not to break down, but her real feelings overwhelm her.

Blanca comes back into the living room and sees her. She approaches her but Mariana holds her back. She tells Blanca she’d better not be there to pass judgment. Blanca says she won’t and is getting ready to leave as well. Blanca tells her she’s left alone in a house that’s not even hers and if she stays there it’s due to the generosity of the girl you call “esa.” Mariana wonders if Blanca ever really loved her. It was only Amelia, right? Blanca says that’s not true, she loved both of them, like daughters. Mariana says that can’t be true because she never would have treated her the way Blanca did—more flashbacks.

Mariana says solitude doesn’t frighten her. She does have a bigger fear but she won’t tell Blanca because she doesn’t want Blanca to have that power over her. Mariana won’t let Blanca hug her and sends her away to her niña Amelia, as Blanca sheds tears of sorrow for Mariana. Mariana looks around and finally realizes how alone she really is—through the flashbacks of her dismissing everyone who had been close to her. She declares that she will not let anyone see her downfall. She swears that if she has to leave, she won’t leave before tearing the place down. [Kudos to Ana Patricia Rojo. This was a tour de force. Only, as I recall, at the beginning of the story, Hernan and Mariana could hardly stand each other. I guess the love was hiding somewhere under the sheets.]

Fer has made a decision. The next morning, she comes out of her bedroom dressed in black and tells Carlos she must do this by herself. She says goodbye to him. (Did he spend the night with her? Inquiring minds want to know.) She goes to the prison and since the only way she can claim Luis’ remains, she admits to the director that she is Luis’ daughter. END OF Episode #115 (Mon Aug 15)

Week 28 (Aug 29)
#125-Mon Aug 29-Anita

Thank you Anita. Doggoneit, I fell asleep and missed the APR performance.

"“something” is a kiss. It sort of comes off as a perfunctory, medically approved, coming together of anatomically correct parts of the mouth"

I still don't get the Maribel/Javier oil and vinegar thingie. I mean, I like it on a salad, but not a young hot doc/older mother of three jailbird, romance. Somebody's smoking something.

Gosh. I appreciate bubbly sunny side up give everybody a second chance Fernanda but agree with Carlos. Luis is a fink, a rat fink. Waiting on her to become bff with Isabela next.

Where are you Diego?

Anita, thought provoking and insightful. A marvelous summary.

"the unfried Luis Montero", "Mariana and her diminishing family", "mismatched pair of doctor and fugitive" and "I guess the love was hiding somewhere under the sheets" were among my favorites.

“I like the doc—I just think the director went to lunch when the two were doing the scene.” Totally agree Anita. I have never, ever seen such an awkward and frankly unappealing kiss.

“Izzy is left speechless and not a single frizzy lock gets tossed”. Perhaps she has met her match? Not that she deserves him.

"Besides, nobody put a gun to her head. Mariana believes Cam went along because she was pissed Carlos chose Fer and not Cam. There was no obligation to testify against her; the obligation came from her father to throw herself at Carlos. So don’t look at her, missy—Mariana knows who she is”. Even in the vilest of lies, there often is a grain of truth. While I loathe the actual words, Mariana is right in that Cam was jealous of Fer. Yes, Hernan forced her to try and lure Carlos away from Fer. And finally, Cam should have recanted her testimony and spared Fernanda from suffering in jail. Fernanda showed Camila a kindness she could only imagine.

“Maybe, she tells him, she deserves to be in prison as much as Luis, but Hernan was a terrible father to try to sell his daughter. Now everything is forgotten, merely because he’s sorry? Nope, doesn’t work that way”. Wise words spit from her cruel and twisted lips. Sigh.

"Fer and her big heart realize he was a human capable of remorse and changing, but she wasn’t ready to forgive him and now he’ll never know". Our saintly sprite continues to be able to forgive the unkindest atrocities.

I have to say I never once had the slightest bit of pity for Mariana. As you noted Anita, Patricia was in her element and burned with anger and resentment. I think her performance was so mesmerizing, it was difficult to see and feel the hurt beneath the bitterness. If she ends up alone - so be it. I also never saw any love or affection between she and Hernan, only the admiring glances when a nefarious plot was coming together.

"I still don't get the Maribel/Javier oil and vinegar thingie. I mean, I like it on a salad, but not a young hot doc/older mother of three jailbird, romance". tofie, I am still scratching my head on this for just the reasons you noted. But of course, I couldn't say it so cleverly.

I am looking forward to Fer and Carlos' ever after. There is still much to be resolved including how she will successfully meld her career and family life. And of course, when and how she will resolve her relationship with her on the lam father.

Will Malq turn herself in or will she be discovered? I'd hate to see this free bird be caged once again.

Thank you Anita for starting my day off with such an excellent summary!

Diana

Anita, i can't thank you enough for this as a storm blew in and my satellite took a nap. I missed a lot of dialogue. The end of the M&M convo (wished I could unsee thqt kiss).

Mariana asked to speak with Herny and after yeah you should go...my picture said, "ok" and went too and more stuff like that

That kiss...ugh! What is with these ppl who hqve absolutely no chemis

Ugh...accidentally hit wrong thing.

Chemistry! Oh the typos too. Ok I will wait until I get to my desk to comment more. Thanks again and I think Carlos moved in the storage shed as he's there all the time.

"I think Carlos moved in the storage shed as he's there all the time". Kendra, I almost spit up my coffee. Great line!!

Diane

Hi, Anita. This was so great, but we haven't begun to resolve all the problems, have we? In fact, they're still teeing problems up, so the remainder of the series will be a rollicking ride for us! Looking forward to it.

Oh, no! Malquerida is really on the lam. Damn! I had so hoped that there was some back story that would explain her behavior. Now how are they going to get her out of this without the unspeakable horror of returning to that vile Mexican jail?

I loved your description of THE KISS, but maybe as a first step between two socially awkward people it is something to build on?

Kendra, Carlos has surely been in the shack a lot and at very telling hours. I suppose his obligation to oversee the children requires him to also project a healthy family aura by sleeping with Fer?

The collapse of the Hernan/Mariana/Camila family was sad, and more so since Blanca decided her services were no longer required, and also left. Hernan seems to have turned a corner to me, but Mariana keeps blaming stuff from her past.

After all Fer went through to bring herself to claim Luis as her father, I wonder what he will do to her as he slithers around the countryside drawing ever closer to her and her loved ones?

Thanks again, Anita. Loved every word.

David

Thank you Anita!

Luis isn't dead! No way.

Everyone bailing from Mariana in droves!

Malq on the lamb ? What did she do ?

David, I will admit that that family break up was very sad - even though I didn't get to see the entire thing.

Mariana deserved the destruction of her marriage because she didn't really love Hernan, she just depended on his being there. Kind of like skin imperfection. You hate that it's there, you don't want it there, but when it's gone you are glad but need to adjust because it had been there so long. However, her break down took me down a little. She delivered that performance.

Did she tell us how it will end for her? Not one horrible person has died. Most have been rehabilitated or a couple jailed. So someone has to die, right? Can it be that piece of tumbleweed, please?

Thanks Anita. Good recap. Its better to forgive than hold a grudge. Its freeing. And fernanda needs to be free of all the Baggage shes been stuck with since......conception? After this forgiveness move forward and let the pass burn like that Prison kitchen.

Did somebody really expect amelia to cut her honeymoon short cuz of news of luis becoming a crispy criter in the
Prison kichen? I wouldn't.
Whats with the awkward kissing? If the director wasn't present with that scene, maybe the asst was there reading the Comments from the night before instead of directing. If she don't go back to prison, they can have another crack
At it. With out the awkwardness.

Mariana spoke some truths, but she still hasn't fessed up her on sins. A man is dead because of her trying to kill her
Sister And neice. I do not feel sorry for this woman. She is too comfortable in her misery. And she seems happy when she can drag other people into it. No Sympathy for the Devil. Louy shouldn't be the only one paying for his wrong doings. Something tells me if she goes down, shes takin some with her. Good actress tho.

Thanks Anita! :-)

Is the final going to be two hours? Anybody know? I was surprised "PYP" was two hours. Maybe a trend is starting.

Nina and everybody--thanks for dropping by and leaving your comments. Always food for more thought. I don't feel I did Mariana justice last night, but I was sooo tired. It had been a long day.

Kendra--I don't think it'll be Miss Tumbleweed of 2011 who bites the dust. She and Mariana should be forced to become roommates and drive each other bonkers.

Apolinar was an unfortunate fatality. He may have been a bad man to be in jail, but he didn't do anything to our protagonistas, unlike Luis. I'm not sure whether jail will be Luis' ultimate punishment, but I've always felt that those who end up dead in a police shoot-out or an exploding plane after taking months of build-up as a horrible antagonist is not at all a satisfying punishment to the audience. We want them to have time to reflect and/or suffer for their misdeeds.

Nina--The new telenovela, Despierta Conmigo starts at 8 on Tuesday August 30. That makes me pretty sure the FIN will be on Monday for 1 hr. Someone said early on that Camino was 125 episodes. If you look at the recapping schedule, Friday is #124. Unless there is a Monday Night Futbol, we'll probably get 1 hr on Friday and 1 hr on Monday.

Nina--Just have to comment on your "crispy critter." Also, loved how you took Feisty Fernanda carrying all that baggage since....Conception! What a concept.

Recap for Tuesday 8/16/2016

Part 1:

Men’s prison: Fernanda is meeting with the prison director so that she arrange a burial for Luis’s remains. The director asks what her relationship is to Luis Montero. She answers, “I am his daughter.” She’s then required to tell the director the short version of her history, that she’s Luis’s daughter, but he didn’t raise her and wasn’t the least bit interested in her. She believes that, in spite of all this, this is her responsibility. She only wants to give Luis a Christian burial.

Mausoleum: Fernanda is alone in front of a crypt labeled with the name Luis Montero and the years of his birth and death, 1968–2016. (48—I did the math.) “I would like to feel something else for you,” she says. “But the only thing I feel is a terrible guilt. It hurts me that I couldn’t tell you until now that I love you.” (If I’ve translated this wrong, somebody please correct me.)

Flower shop kiosk in the business section of town: Maribel is ranting about how Fernanda wouldn’t let her accompany her, until Javier puts a flower in her hair. (So glad he didn’t kiss her; maybe the writers aren’t going there after all.)

Mausoleum: All of Fernanda’s family and friends show up to offer moral support: Amelia, Pedro, Carlos, Marissa, Ordóñez, Blanca, Camila, Felipe, Adelina, and Lucero. Pedro tell her that a beautiful thing came out of Luis’s life, and that was Fernanda.

Flower shop kiosk: When a customer buys flowers, some bills fall out of his pocket. Maribel doesn’t tell him about it, and picks up the money. After only a split-second of hesitation, she calls out to him and hands over the money. Javier puts another flower in Maribel’s hair.

Commercial shoot: Malquerida is singing and dancing with a broom in a commercial shoot for household cleaning products. Isabela interrupts right in the middle of shooting, and Teo asks her to leave.

Altamirano mansion: Mariana sees that the dining room table is loaded with dirty dishes, and she calls out for Blanca. But Blanca and the rest of the help have left the building. Mariana then trips on the treacherous step-down to the sunken living room. She’s fallen and she can’t get up. And no one is there to help her.

Pedro’s casita: Fernanda is having an existential crisis. She tells Carlos that she doesn’t understand how God could take Luis in such a horrible way. She realizes that nothing lasts forever and that one day she’ll have to say goodbye Pedro too.

Isabela’s house: Isabela’s little sister, Carolina, gives her some really bad advice. She tells her that she would not lose out to another low-class person, and that she should do a better job of fighting for what she wants.

Pedro’s casita: Pedro and Amelia are snuggling in the bedroom. (After 19 years, Pedro finally gets to sleep on the bed instead of the floor.)

Part 2:

Marissa’s patio: Ordóñez shows up with a surprise. It’s Leopoldo, just released from prison.

School for girls: Rosaura wants Lucero to see a therapist before she returns to classes, and with permission from Lucero’s mother, she’s made an appointment with Dr. Farias (Javier). Lucero doesn’t think she needs a therapist, but Rosaura thinks it’s very important that he see her. (Yes, it is very important, because the Patio wants to see Javier fall for someone more age appropriate.)

Music school: Fernanda is playing before the class. A fellow student says that she liked Fernanda’s performance, but the music professor is more critical, harsh even. She tells Fernanda that her face didn’t match the music. It’s a sad song, but Fernanda didn’t portray it that way. Fernanda should have known that it was a sad song; it’s in a minor key. “You are not a professional. Please sit down.” (I’m hoping that this is tough love.)

Marissa’s patio: Leopoldo recounts the events of the fire, and Ordóñez begins to suspect that Luis may be the one who escaped. There was no DNA test, he says. Leopoldo tells him that the body was found with the chain that Luis wanted to give to his daughter. Ordóñez knits his brow.

Meanwhile, Fernanda walks through an open market. She looks around as if she thinks she’s being watched. (And maybe she is.)

Javier’s office: Lucero insists on using her maiden name. She tells Javier, “If you want to keep me as a patient, we need to talk about other things.”

Carlo’s office: Carlos tells Fernanda that he thinks they need to delay the wedding, but she wants it to go on. “We are a team … Our wedding is tomorrow, and there’s no force that can stop it.”

Outdoor café: Malquerida doesn’t feel right eating in such a place, but Dr. Artega assures her that she belongs there. She’s going to be a diva.

Empty field near Pedro’s greenhouse: Pedro and Amelia discover that some construction is going on and that Hernan is overseeing it. He tells that that this is Fernanda’s project.

Meanwhile, Carlos and Fernanda discuss the building of the casa hogar (children’s home). Then they discuss where they will live. She’s OK with living in his mother’s house for now. “Our home is wherever we are, even if it’s under a bridge.”

Thanks, Aleta. I frequently don't get a chance to comment later in the day, so I often don't get to thank you for what you do, and the talented way you do it.

"Our wedding is tomorrow, and there's no force that can stop it." Uh,oh. (drum roll).

"Yes, it is very important, because the Patio wants to see Javier fall for someone more age appropriate." I wonder what the International Classification of Diseases code would be for that?

Mariana was kind of pathetic, wandering around the empty house, seeing all the dirty dishes, and then twisting her ankle, but I'll bet not many here cared very much.

Thanks again, Aleta.

David

Aleta--What a great time to take a break from struggling in this heat and get presented with a wonderful recp. Thank you.

I'll just add these two little clarifications, if I may. "Fernanda's project" in the field is Amelia and Pedro's new house. She wanted to get a head start on it. I thought it was cute how at first Herny wouldn't tell them who was at the head of this project and nothing could be changed without consulting the head of the project first. Finally, after suspicious pressure from Pedro and Amelia he says, "All I can tell you is the head of the project's name starts with...F...ernanda."

Also, I think Fernanda's other project she was telling Carlos about was to distribute free musical instruments to all the street children. (Ok, idealist that she is, but how will that help them fill their bellies and get shelter from the elements unless they start a band.) She was also planning to do the same at the Casa de hogar--I like that plan better. Come to the Casa de Hogar and you get a bed, food and music lessons on your own instrument. Oh, and we'll get rid of that nasty directora while we're at it.

Lucero is in denial that she needs any special help. I think that is what Rosaura saw in her. She's a strong girl, we saw evidence of that, but hey--spending a little time with Doc J isn't a waste of time, either.

Oh, David--drum roll indeed. Fer and Carlos won't be allowed to be married and permanently happy until the last 20 minutes of the last episode.

Nope, did not feel one drop of care for Mariana's state. She did it all by herself to herself and she knows it. Who is she going to call for help now? Maybe she can dial 911 and harangue the medics when they get there.

Good recap Aleta. Did fer say she wanted to say "I love you"to that man?
Did anybody else get that? Cuz I don't see her loving that monster. Forgivin OK, but love. Somebody let me know too.

Still don't like Izzy and her braty sidekick. Next.

Javier should rescue lucero. And wed
Her.

Mariana's servants look like they had a party and left a mess for the mistress. And a 1/4 of a watermelon on
The table. Who does that? Mariana or
Her messy servants. Nobody wants to be
Around mean people, its too hot. Now
She's got a sprained hoof and no help.
You reap what you sow.

Thanks Aleta.

Fantastic recap Aleta.

"Fernanda is having an existential crisis" and "After 19 years, Pedro finally gets to sleep on the bed instead of the floor" were among my favorites.

"Maribel is ranting about how Fernanda wouldn’t let her accompany her, until Javier puts a flower in her hair. (So glad he didn’t kiss her; maybe the writers aren’t going there after all.)" We can only hope. I grimaced when he put the second flower in her hair. For heaven's sake man, please don't encourage her. They are just so wrong together. I also like him with Lucero. I like the stronger, more focused Lucero who seems determined to forge her own destiny and I sense she will be a force to be reckoned with.

“You are not a professional. Please sit down.” (I’m hoping that this is tough love.) I can't decide if she is trying to bait Fernanda to get angry and channel her emotions through her music. What she obviously doesn't understand is that Fernanda has a tender heart and while she loves deeply is not a firestorm of emotions. She is calm and rather collected. Perhaps she can channel passion for her music through love for her family.

I particularly loved your take on Mariana’s current medical state Nina, "She's got a sprained hoof and no help" Awesome! And I have no sympathy at all for her either. I agree with Anita, “Maybe she can dial 911 and harangue the medics when they get there”. Humph!

Thank you again Aleta.

Diana

What is with that music lady? Is she tryin to help or hurt fer. I don't like her. She's mean. Its to hot for all this meaness. I
Hope Im wrong about her. Shes not very encouraging. And fer does not look encouraged at all.

The recap will be up a bit later Patio pals. My apologies, I have been running around all day, getting things ready for my trip on Friday. I was able to only watch half before my eyes started drooping. I took notes, so I will watch second half and the put the recap up in the morning (my time).

Good morning Delilah!

We always look forward to your wonderful recaps.

I will be away today but can't wait to read it later today.

Diana

Hi, Delilah - breathlessly anticipating one of your detailed and funny rehashings of last night's shenanigans.

David

Delilah--Take your time. I know the feeling. Your recaps are PRIME any time of day.

Aleta--Apologies. You heard right. Fernanda DOES want to start her own Casa de Hogar. Felipe made that clear. The rest can wait.

Good morning Dy, take your time girl, Im at work, when Im done, I look forward to your recaps. Have a blessed day.♡

Well I'm late to the party, but hopefully I am not posting when Delilah is posting.

Aleta, thanks for that recap. Just got to read today because OMG my air went out yesterday UGH! so I have been dealing with that while at work and it's still crazy there too.

Mariana and that treacherous step - I laughed at that one because she deserves worse!

I also think that Luis is not quite 48 yet. I think when he was being put into the prison, fingerprinted and mugshotted they asked him his age and he said 47. He hadn't been in there that long, but he could have had a born day.

Alright let me stop before Delilah posts.

I have tonight's recap and if the guy doesn't show up to fix my air - I will be recapping under serious duress from my basement in front of a fan thinking about ice cubes instead of what is actually happening. So a big sorry in advance.

Wednesday 8/17/16 Part I

Good after Patio pals! Thank you so much for your patience. We plate up our refritos, with Pedro and Amelia discussing the construction project with Hernan, the mystery project manager is Fernanda (who at that very moment is deep in tongue twister with Carlos.) Back at the restaurant Mal fidgets nervously looking over shoulder. Doc A wants to know what’s and Mal tells him she thinks it’s just stage fright. Yeah I guess you got a point Mal it’s one thing to sing out here and another to perform in prison. Those gals were trapped and had no choice but to listen to your warbling. Anyway..her new commercial appears on the tv and she forgets all about that stage fright. (Seriously..who puts a television on a restaurant patio?. I only know of one, a Thai restaurant around the corner from me, but they have the BeeGees in concert on loop.True Story!) Er anyway.. Dr A gets all giddy and blathers about how wonderful it is, the best and most beautiful commercial he’s ever seen blah blah…he comes in for a proper kiss and then pulls Mal in for a tender embrace. She thinks to herself that she should enjoy this moment while she can, because it will be her last, once the Policia see it. They won’t waste time coming for her and locking her up. Is there anyway worthless whiney Cami can finish out Mal’s sentence? I would trade Cami in a heartbeat to keep Mal free.

Teo is tired of wasting words with Izzy. He’s got a business deal going with Mal and all Izzy does is sabotage things. Izzy says she’s doing what she things is best for him and the business. Well, it’s not helping me and it’s a waste of time to be getting upset and angry and always over the same damn thing!. Trust me Teo, this chica stays pressed all the time 24/7. Izzy says she gets it, but Teo thinks for as long as it took them to get this partnership off the ground, she’s just now starting to understand and he doubts they’re in agreement. He’s not the kind of boss that mistreats those who work for him; he thinks you should value and take care of them. The people are the real value In any business. Izzy protests that she is not what he thinks. Oh yeah? Well I heard and observed. You might be beautiful, but you’re also capricious, rude and demeaning. All the things I don’t like in a partner or person. So unless it’s business, I don’t care to deal with you again. Exit stage left Izzy!

Lucero tells Doc Javier that despite the way Demongo held her captive she never truly believed he would hurt her. Things changed when Fernanda busted in and tried to become a threesome…er save her, it was then that she thought Diego would hurt her and Fer. Why do you think he didn’t? asks Jav. Lucero thinks perhaps it was the twisted love he felt for her that may have stopped Demonego . Umm..or the Policia’s sirens wailing in the distance? I’m just saying. Javier wants Lucero to be honest, what is it that really hurts her? She tells him forlornly that she regrets giving up her youth, her family and dreams all for the love of a man; only it wasn’t really love. It was something twisted up disguised as love, and when she realized it..it was too late to turn back. He tells her he understands I’m glad you do, because I don’t she says. I have to put on a façade for my friends, I tell them everything is ok, but the truth is, it’s not. Javier reaches out a comforting hand and asks if she’s given up on love or if she doesn’t believe in it? One thing I know is that love has many forms, and while I was locked up, I thought of the love of GOD, my mother, Fernanda and Sister Ro. Love is what saved me. She thinks perhaps she could pursue a career of faith, she could become a sister of charity, like Rosaura. Javier seems surprised. Me too, because I need her to block that dull as dishrag Kleptobella. Get on it doc! You need a new project and damsel in distress, this one may not play the violin, but she won’t steal your wallet!

Wednesday 8/17/16 Part II

Izzy rants to her sister that she hates her and isn’t going to rest until she shreds her to pieces. Who asks Caro (because her sister hates so many people who can keep track right?) Why it’s the Malquerida! Why does all the riff raff in the world get everything good? Is it some pay off for having lived a poor life? Caro wonders why she’s asking such nonsense. Because first Fer gets her man and then becomes a millionaire and now Malquerida is getting the love of the respectable Dr. Artaega. Her…an ex convict!! It’s something about those prison babes Izzy. Fer and Mal, got that street swag, the prison also has a bangin’ salon! You need to get an appointment, it could change your life. Anyway…Caro tries to calm her sister down but Izzy isn’t having it…these bisches are taking what is mine.

Javier, is reading my mind because he tells Loosero to pump the brakes. Let’s not start thinking about such radical decisions. You’ve got plenty of time to think about what you’ll do with your life Let’s not take any false steps. Loosero agrees. Javier reminds her there are many ways to serve GOD, be being a good daughter and following his teachings. She has her whole life ahead of her. Right now she needs to get past the trauma she experienced. Together they’ll get her through it. It’s a promise! Loosero gives a genuine smile of relief. Well folks, I believe Doc Javier, has another one on the line. Oh boy..this is gonna send Kleptobella to be snatching things again alright. She’s gonna be snatching Loosero’s hair!

Izzy wants to know what’s wrong with her..what’s so bad? You really want to know? It’s the way you are. I’ve told you before and I tell you now, stop condemning people. Caro has a sense that her sister is now becoming interested in Teo and she warns Izzy; change or you’re going to lose este otro hombre! It’ll be strike two for you Izzy.

Back at the tiny house, Pedro is whining about the house Fer wants to give her parents. It’s too much! Hernan tells him to not be foolish, like his daughter was (regarding Don Fernandough’s money) Amelia says she’s got no problem taking the gift. Pedro keeps protesting and Marissa chimes in, telling Pedro to just accept the gift, he deserves it. Hernan is all too happy to work on the project. Carlos points out that Fer is using her families construction company so the money goes right back into her family, it’s like no money is spent at all. Pedro who has the intelligence of a gnat, seems to grasp the concept and likes it. The convo shifts to Fer’s friends who she says re off getting the church ready and soon they’ll be helping her with the reception.

Wednesday 8/17/16 Part III

At the church, Adelina and Cami fasten fresh flowers to the pews. They’re the best because they came from Pedro, the best gardener. Cami asks about Addie’s friendship with Pedro. He became like a father to me, Addie replies. Oh but didn’t you ever think of him as something more, it’s not as if he’s ugly. No just a lousy wardrobe. I really think Cami should be Demonego’s next wife. She’s just twisted enough to probably dig that sort of Addie shuts it down. No he’s Fer’s father. Loose comes running in, apologizing for being late. The girls give her a pass as long as Doc Javier, cures the crazy! Cami actually has the nerve to say she’s happy for the soon to be wedded couple. They’ve overcome so many obstacles to get to this day. Umm you think Cami? Like two years worth of steel bars? You trifling no good heffa..I want to smack her back to two shades. Addie says well nothing and no one will stop this wedding. Oh boy...that means something and someone will try. Any guesses who?

Back at the tiny house. Carlos embarrasses his mother by mentioning that her boyfriend is missing. Boyfriend? Hernan asks. Oh yeah….it’s Ordonez! Marissa blushes as they rib her playfully. She thanks Carlos for informing her that’s her boyfriend because they hadn’t discussed what they were to each other. Amelia is happy for Marissa, because Swag-0-licious is a good man. And you Amelia are officially un estupida mujer. You picked Peter piper pooper over Swag Oh!

Swag O meanwhile is back at the prison, talking to the director. Swag O wonders if Apolinar has resurfaced. Nope the authorities have checked everywhere, shelters and various places. Well what about his relatives? Nah..that’s been covered too but hey now that you mentions it whats so strange is that instead of just keeping quiet and helping to cover him, his family is here everyday bothering me and wondering where he is. This gets Swag O sitting up straighter. The Director wonders why Swag is so interested in Apolinar. Swag O says, it’s not up for discussion right now but keep him in the loop about Apolinar.

Amelia comes into the sad and depressing AltaManor. The remnants of a sad and lonely breakfast for one, sit practically uneaten at the table. She finds Meanie sitting in bed with the twisted ankle propped up and is greeted with an eye roll and snotty attitude. You know..the usual. What happened? What do you think, um see the foot? Besides I doubt your sisterly sixth sense brought you here. Well I’ve come to invite you to Fer’s wedding. Meanie all alone and literally on her ass with a twisted ankle, still manages to find more vinegar down in that area of her chest where a soul is supposed to be. Oh our bastard is getting married? Wow, let’s hope her love lasts. Exasperated Amelia tells her she’s not there to fight. Why she can where whatever she wants, black or white, just come. Meanie actually thinks the wardrobe choice is funny, but she’ll pass. She didn’t get an invite anyway and she could care less about the wedding. Amelia knows it’s a lost cause but before she leaves she asks about the foot..do you need a doctor? Nope, already had my buddy check it out. Amelia isn’t buying it, Meanie has no friends. Well beat it anyway. Amelia leaves, and Meanie has a stream of fresh lonely tears. Even she can’t believe where her damn bitter pride takes her and she wonders how much further it will go in destroying her. I doubt with that ankle you can do much except hobble to that wedding Meanie. I’m still cheering for this gal to get right with her family. I know she’s a murderous hell cat but I do have a bit of pity for her. It had to be hard being told by everyone especially your father, that you could never compare to the wonderful Amelia. I might be a bitter bitch too.

Wednesday 8/17/16 Part IV

Felipe comes by with the foundation papers. It’s all set just sign them and the Fernando Altamirano Foundation will be official (aww tears, Fernandough would be so happy at what his beloved nieta is doing in his honor). Felipe suggests that they use the AltaManor Ranch as a shelter home (slow your roll Felipe, or you’ll end up over a cliff). Fer says, her Auntie is there and it’s always been her home, she’s not going to force her out and leave her homeless. What a gal. Carlos pops in, and wonders if she would give a private concert to the children. Sure thing babe!

Malquerida, obviously feeling the pressure of hawking house products on the international circuit, wears an oversized sun hat and dark oversized sun glasses. Doc A waves the waiter over and Mal tells him to stop calling attention to them. Well all he wants is another soda. Why are you in disguise and in a bad mood. Oh this? Well I don’t want my fans recognizing me and harassing me. What fans? You just did one commercial. Mal says well it’s good to set boundaries now so they understand she will need her privacy and space and not be tormenting her everywhere asking for pics and autographs. She’s not going to let fame separate the two of them. I love her! A prominent man comes into the restaurant and Mal panics, pulling Doc A in for a lengthy kiss to distract attention away from her already covered up face.

Back at the Tiny house, Fer plays a haunting and romantic piece for Carlos and the boys. They are enthralled by her talent and even cutie pie Pedrito manages to look interested. Carlos heart swells and he thinks about the love he feels for Fernanda, he can’t believe how in love he is. He can’t wait to start his life with her and spend the rest of his days making her happy. The hours can go by fast enough until the boda! All I can think is that I’m glad those oven burners are off, because her violin case is sitting on top of them.

Pedro who has looked on from afar, remember the little girl his Fer once was. She’s grown now, a woman and a musician. She will be united with the man she loves and their family, but to Pedro she will always be his little one (Chiquita). Later Fer finds her papito dusting a plant. He’s glad they can talk now. He has some advice to give her before the big day.

At Blanca’s minimalist pad, she and Amelia have some evening dessert. Amelia tells her that she went to see Meanie and invite her to the wedding but she wanted nothing to do with it. Well that’s probably best if she’s going to behave the way she did at your wedding. Well she’s my sister and part of the family. Blanca thinks Meanie doesn’t deserve Amelia, because she’s so good and wonderful and blah blah blah. Blanca I love you, but you need to zip your gullible butt. You didn’t know the bitcy bangs we were all introduced to. Amelia can hide behind that side part, but viewerville knows the dark side of her. Blanca thinks Meanie is capable of even hurting Fer, she hates her. Oh brother, and we all know how Blanca can sniff out trouble.

Wednesday 8/17/16 Part V

Fer assures her Dad she’s getting married but not going away. Pedro tells her marriage is a serious commitment, it’s hard work and it won’t always be a bed of roses. At least not ones he planted! ;-) Anyway, there will be good days and bad but remember she and Carlos are in it together. Always fight for your love. Umm Pedro you do know who you are talking to right? She’s been fighting against your metiche ass since the day she met Carlos. So yeah she’s getting married and no thanks to you. Although Fer thanks him anyway for his needless advice.

Blanca blathers on about the reasons Meanie hates Fer, Fernandough, the money, the house and oh yeah she found Cami. Blanca is wearing my nerves, Meanie looked for her too . I’m just sayin’ Amelia kindly tells Blanca she doesn’t want to hear any more of her negativity. Her daughter is getting married tomorrow, tonight is the last night she’ll be a single woman. Blanca takes her cue and shoves more dessert in her pie hole.

Fer thanks her Dad and tells him to take good care of Pedrito while she’s on her honeymoon. Well they’d have to kill me first before I let anyone lay a hand on him.(promise Pedro?) Anyway..that's foreboding number two! Yup Pedrito is in danger.

Back at Marissa’s Mansion, Carlos is in his bedroom (seriously the guy never had his own apartment?) he tells his mom the honeymoon is short, just the weekend until Fer’s school semester is over. Then they’ll travel to Spain or Italy, a proper honeymoon. She tells him she wants to have a talk. Carlos teases he already knows where babies come from. Aww no, she just wants to tell him how happy she hopes they’ll be. she gives Carlos her admiration for how hard he and Fer fought to be together. Only couples with their kind of love last, they crossed every obstacle. She also assures him the kids will be in good hands while they are away. Darn..this is not looking good.

Fer dreams she hears Louse calling her “Luisa Luisa” he has followed her into the tiny house, it’s her wedding day and he’s come to take her away. “I’m your father, come with me!” She struggles against him as he yanks her toward the door. Fer half asleep sees Luis looking down at her. It must be a dream..and she rolls over back into a deep sleep. Louse looks down at his sleeping daughter and then down into his grandsons cradle. The next morning Fer wakes happy and ready for her big day. She notices her son’s empty crib and assumes he is already up. She comes out and finds her parents chattering away. Amelia says today she is dressing her daughter. It’s her mother’s right! Okay..well where is Pedrito? He’s sleeping of course. Umm in your room? Well no. Uh oh..they realize the child is gone. They panic and begin looking everywhere. Through the field Fer runs. “Pedrito! Pedrito..son..Pedrito!” Amelia and Pedro cover ground calling for their grandson. The child is nowhere. Fer is off near the tracks now…panicked she continues yelling. She realizes her son is gone and she collapse into her parents arms. “They kidnapped my son!”

Wednesday 8/17/16 Part VI

At the church Carlos looking very dapper in a tone gray on gray tux wonders where his bride is. Marissa and Swag O think he’s too stressed and nervous. Swag O says as the godfather I’m telling you to calm down. Paco reminds his dad that women take long to get ready. Marissa agrees. But Carlos says no…something is wrong, the family isn’t here either. Well you’ll see she’ll be here soon on the arm of her father who will hand her over to you. Then as with me, you’ll see dreams do come true, Swag O says looking over at his dream come true Marissa. Paco says if Pedro doesn’t hand her over, then he’ll hold him and Swag O can knock him out. Ooooh I like this kid! Just then Carlos phone rings, I’s Fer. Her sobs are hard for him to understand. Is it nerves? Do you doubt marrying me? Not. It’s our son, he isn’t here. They kidnapped Pedrito! Say what? Our son has been kidnapped? It’s too incredible to believe and he repeats it again, grabbing Marissa and Swag O’s attention. Fer meanwhile has collapsed on to the floor.

Blanca who can’t resist blaming Global warming on meanie insists it was her who took the child. Amelia can’t believe it.. would she really do that? Of course says Blanca, she knows the pain it would cause Fer. She did it, who else would take that boy to destroy Fer? Oh Blanca, go knit another sweater or something. This lady seriously needs a hobby.

Izzy has seen the light, she tells Teo she is there to propose peace. She knows she behaved badly. Well it wasn’t me you treated badly he says. Yeah it was Mal, I know. Teo is skeptical about her new attitude, are you doing it just for me? Well…I want us to be friends again, I’m interested in you. So you aren’t sincere? Yes, I am, I don’t have many friends like you teaching me about life and business. I know I can’t treat people the way I have been just because they are poor. But it was your gentle way of rebuking me that really got me to understand. Teo says ok good we can wipe the slate clean and start again. He gives her his hand. Izzy may actually have Mr. Right, right now!

Carlos has come to the Tiny house, they will find their son. Detective Al Pacino Medina and Kleptobella have arrived, they are all told about Pedrito. Marissa is upset and voices her worry to Swag O. Paco overhears and becomes worried and distraught over his missing little brother. Marissa calms him, but she collapses under the stress. Fer gives the information of what happened to the Detective Al Pacino, His phone rings and he answers it.. righty o. He tells Fer that it was Blanca, according to her it was Meanie. Oh Blanca.

FIN

Once again I'm so sorry this is incredibly late. It was a rough morning. I forgot Pest control was coming to take care of spiders! I will be away for two months from my home so lots to button up before I head out.

Delilah--For heaven's sakes. No need to apologize. This is laborious work, all for love because it certainly isn't for money. And Now, On To The Best Entertainment of the Day...reading your recap.

Delilah--A Tour de Force. You have just about churned out the whole script for us--in detail. Loved every sentence, starting with the plate up of refritos and LaMalquerida's warbling for a captive audience. So many great lines. I especially liked the references to the Tiny House. Actually I've watched some of the programs and they are kind of neat. Didn't notice the violin case on the stove. Oh and Det. Al Pacino Medina gave me some great flashbacks of my own.

Meanieana will not be arrested for kidnapping, unless someone can prove she can actually walk on that ankle--or produce a kid.

Ay de mi. Please, writers, don't keep stretching this out another week.

Delilah, thank you in the midst of your busy preparations for providing a kickin' good story for us. Wherever you are going, I hope you will be able to tune in to the End of the Road and everyone gets to their Destino.

Delilah, what a treat. As Anita said, you almost wrote out the entire dialog, except that you also inserted humorous asides that kept this thing rollicking along.

I'm still loving the Mal character. She injects so much energy into the story with her antics.

Did Issy really turn a new leaf? I don't much care. She has been such an idjet that I don't waste much time thinking about her.

I guess your plans to be gone for two months has to do with your husband working away, so hope you and he have a grand time.

Thanks again, Delilah.

David

Delilah, your superb level of detail is astounding. And greatly appreciated.

The summary was wonderful with your wry sense of humor on display at every turn.

"deep in tongue twister", "Fer and Mal, got that street swag, the prison also has a bangin’ salon! You need to get an appointment, it could change your life were great but "Pedro who has the intelligence of a gnat, seems to grasp the concept and likes it" made me laugh out loud.

I enjoy Patricia's performance as Mariana but the character doesn't garner a scintilla of sympathy from me. At all. And let me add that Izzy does not deserve that stone cold silver fox either. Ack.

I would think cool heads will realize Mariana isn't up to walking and certainly could not have kidnapped the child herself. The fact Luis escaped will have to turn up sooner or later.

I liked Maribel initially, now she is just hanging around like an annoying gnat. I have no patience for her Jav crush and she seems to be in the background everywhere you go. I hope she is reunited with her family but a way away...

Mal is a different story. I wish she had a spin off! I think she and her doc are totally mismatched. I wish the writers, who have been pretty much spot on in getting the couples together who SHOULD be together. Jav and Mal would have been fire and ice but would have sparked and sparkled I'm sure. Having Jav with pretty Lucero is not a bad ending, just rather expected.

I loathe kidnappings. Hope Ped is recovered quickly.

Thank you again for the fantastic summary Delilah!

Diana

What a great recap Delilah. I giggled all the way through. Thank you bunches.

"Fer and Mal, got that street swag, the prison also has a bangin’ salon!"

"Amelia can hide behind that side part, but viewerville knows the dark side of her"

Yeah right. Marissa would want to snatch a 2 year old, gimpy ankle and all.

Marissa NOT. I mean Mariana

My wish is that Pedrito cries day and night for his mommy, daddy, abuela Marissa, abuelo Pedro, Maribel and yes, even abuela Amelia, but most of all for El Gran Paco.

Delilah, oh that was too good! I was laughing through the entire recap.

Delilah I really enjoyed your recap it was action-packed and funny. Blanca stuffing pie into her pie hole, and al pacino guy.

I always thought that mothers would sleep lightly when it comes to their babies. seeing a monster like that looking down at me after I had a nightmare like the one she had, that would make me jump, get up take my baby into my bed with me. But that's just me. it's a good thing fer is building a home for her mom & dad, because that gi-normerous picture window with no glass to protect anybody is just screaming "Come on in and steal the baby that's in the crib sleeping next to his mother because she thinks you're a nightmare". And that's what he did.
Was she just dog tired or did she take a sleep aid to help her sleep so she'd be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for her big day? Poor baby, nobody to protect him from crazyass granpa. This won't end well.

Still don't like frizzy izzy. 3 or 4
Episodes left? I probably Still won't
Like her.
Maybe some of that mean gene is in fer. She can turn it on luis. I hope so, cuz she is to sickeningly nice at times. And stealin my baby, that would be just the last straw for me.

OK, bed time. Thanks Dy. Get you some rest girl.

Episode #118 on 8-18 Nightmares beginning and ending.

Part I.

Hola Peeps! (Some scenes combined) We begin with a redo of last night with Fer retelling her nightmare to Inspector Gadget and he gets a call from Psychic Blanca telling him that she suspects Mariana (who doesn’t even like kids) kidnapped lil Pedro.
Marissa is in her bed and Doc A is telling Marissa that she needs to be calm (not sure how that’s going to happen when her grandbaby is missing) and avoid stress. She’s worried and wants to go look for her grandson. Doc A is worried too and wants to help Carlos and Fer.
Outside the storage shed Inspector Gadget is on the radio sending units to Alta Manor. Carlos and Fer want to go, but the IG says no because he shouldn’t even be going just because someone thinks Mariana has him. Well they are going to jail because they aren’t staying there. He relents (really?) and tells them to come on.
Why are we at the beauty school? Isabella is taking pics of her students and then they all begin to socialize with each other, but they are excluding Mal from their conversations as if she doesn’t exist or maybe they don’t see her because she is like 4ft compared to what seems like their 7ft height statuses. They begin to model for Isy when Mal interrupts because she would like to go first so that she can attend the wedding of Carlos and Fer. Isy is none too happy to hear this, but Mal seems pleased that Isy looks annoyed. Well she did ask if she was attending another wedding and Mal answered. Don’t ask won’t tell.

Part II.

At Alta Manor – Fer runs in and drops down on her knees and holds Mariana’s hands. Mariana assumes that since the police are there she’s being kicked out of the house and tells them they could have just asked her nicely. (when has asking her anything nicely or otherwise gotten a positive response?) Fer begins to beg Mariana to give her back her son. Of course, Mariana has stank confused face. Fer begins to offer to give everything back to her, the money, the house, the construction company, just everything. Carlos sweetens the pot by throwing the bank, his house, and possessions at her too – just give Pedrito back! Inspector Gadget then threatens extra jail time if she doesn’t give the baby back. This scene is crazy to me. Yeah she is a lunatic, but you have no proof (I know, it’s a tn) to go rushing into that house and accuse her of a crime she actually didn’t commit. How bout those attempted murder chargers, huh? Let’s do that! Mariana thinks they are crazy and doesn’t know what the hell is going on. Carlos gets all up in her grill begging her to give him back. She tells them that they should see that she can barely walk let alone take him. They start looking and she’s like…whatever! (Amelia is there listening to them yell and starts to look for him – when did she get there?) Well as we all know, they don’t find him in the house. IG tells Mariana that if he finds out that she took Pedrito then she will spend a whole lot of years behind bars. Mariana tells him, “ok, well until then – get out of my house and go look for that baby” Go! She does look concerned because she is fully aware that people have been known to go to jail for things they didn’t do.
Super Oh is sitting on Marissa’s bed (oooooh – yeah I know this is not the time) Marissa doesn’t want to tell Carlos what happened because he is already dealing with Pedrito’s disappearance. Super Oh is telling her that she fainted and you can’t hide this from him either to try to protect everyone from additional pain because your health is in jeopardy (but she’s right – that baby is missing and he needs to be found this is when you keep a secret – not when you in jail and his mama in a coma). Marissa is wondering what a** would take her grandbaby. AND THE REASON I CALL HIM SUPER OH (OH is for oh he is fine) Marissa sees the look on his face and deduces that he is thinking something. He tells her that if it weren’t for the fact that he’s dead, he would swear it was Luis Montero that took Pedrito.
Back at the storage shed that has a big opening where a window should be. No locks on the door and a kleptomaniac (in therapy) living there Fer is looking in Pedrito’s bed crying and wants to wake up from the nightmare.

Oh look – somewhere there is a crying Pedrito being picked up by some mysterious hands.

Part III.

Super Oh has brought Marissa some lunch, but she isn’t there. Why? Where did she go? She went to the beauty school to yell at Isabella to return her grandson to her. Isy says she will as soon as she tells her where he is and she’ll bring him to her as a wedding gift. Marissa says that Isy and Mariana are Fer’s only enemies. Isy calls that bull and says that man stealing, two-timing, tramps have lots of enemies (she should know). I didn’t take that bastard and don’t care if he lives or dies, but I’m not going to jail for kidnapping. Well that earns a slap! C’mon Marissa you can do better than that! – (going off tn but that slap that Fiorella (Livia Brito) gave her character Aitana in Muchacha was the stuff dreams were made of. She slapped that b**ch so hard she was about to go through the door! Epic) ok, then Isy slaps Marissa back and stands her ground (damn) now it’s a stare down. More back and forth between the two – give him back – I don’t have him. Shut up – it’s my office I can say what I want and don’t have to put up with your family anymore so get out of my office.
Well it looks as if someone dressed like a nurse has Pedrito and he sees his mommy and he wants her. This woman is not Fer and they did a really good job of making him cry and want his mom. I’m just so amazed by how they work his emotions at the right time.
For someone who should take it easy, now Marissa is at the prison paying that Cheshire cat a visit. As he is joking about her money allowing her to visit him in the Warden’s office and not on the yard she gets to the point.
Marissa – I know you were Luis’ b**ch
Ish – Yeah, I said “how high” to his jump
Marissa – Why yall stop being friends
Ish – lady you boring me
Marissa – just answer the damn question
Ish – well he stopped being brave enough to swindle people out of their money (useless human being)

He then tells her that it all started when he found out he had a daughter, blah blah blah he’s now bored and wants to leave. She wants to know if Luis asked him to kidnap Pedrito and he’s like – I told you I was done with that dude. He tells her that Montero had a bunch of enemies in that prison and if he gave money to anyone to kidnap Pedrito, then it was the prisoner who escaped – Apo.

Carlos in his tux stressed the hell out feeling useless. Maribel is trying to console him.

Now back at the unknown location we see men’s shoes walk to the nurse as she explains the baby won’t calm down. The suit then proceeds to rub Pedrito on his forehead and he calms down. Hmm I guess he likes that.

Part IV.

At the jail, Carlos and Fer are questioning some useless office if there is any news of their son and he says that he isn’t authorized to tell them anything. Carlos is about to go to jail because he jacks that Officer up by his collar and yells at him. Lucero comes in to explain that she told Medina something about her wonderful crazy husband that sent him running .

So many different scenes – argh! We are in an apartment with kidnap victim number 1. The police break in and get her out and assure her that nightmare is over. We then get to kidnapped victim number 2 and rescue her. Lucero is already rescued so now it’s HoLivia’s turn. Well, we know she’s 2 sandwiches, a soda, and a bag of chips short of a picnic and doesn’t want to be rescued. She said no no no! She has to be taken out by force as she is yelling for Diego to help her. Well hiding in a corner is Diego who is wondering why Inspector Gadget has become his enemy. “I didn’t do nuffin? Why he messing with me?” These people are batshyt crazy! Diego is thought bubbling that first IG took Lucero and turned her against him and now he’s taking sister wife HoLivia who was happy being with him, even though he wasn’t happy being with her. LMAO!

Everyone is showing Pedrito’s picture around. Javier, Maribel, Ordonez, Marissa, and Clarita. Marissa really needs to sit home and make calls. I’m a little afraid for her right now.

Isy is having a steak dinner (I noticed because I am hungry) with Teo and explaining what happened with Marissa. He understands that Marissa must be desperate. Isy (oh I hate when I have to agree with something she says) tells him that that doesn’t give her the right to treat her that way – not this situation anyway. She says she doesn’t care about any of them, even the baby. Teo has that shocked look on his face because this chick hasn’t changed.

Lawd have mercy it’s a new day and it looks as if Fer is smashing apples to make Pedrito breakfast while everyone has a worried look on their face because she has lost it. Don’t blame her I would lose my mind as well. Fer tells them that she has to finish making her son’s breakfast so she can get to class. Carlos is trying to snap her out of this fog.

Super Oh has gone to the prison because the Warden wants to tell him that the fire was started on purpose and wasn’t an accident. Dun dun dun.

Ordonez is visiting Marissa and telling her about his talk with the Warden at the prison. He also lets her know that Apolinar (someone I don’t think he knows) is too stupid to plan an escape and he thinks that Luis is alive and took her grandson. whatchewtalkinboutO?

Well, if it isn’t Luis scaring nurses and picking up his kidnapped grandson. (How Pedrito stopped dropped and lay down when Luis came in is beyond me?) Luis has calmed Pedrito and tells him that we will go see his mom. I think he already sees his mom. Later we see Luis and Pedro playing on the floor having a grand time pushing a car back and forth when Alicia (who has an appointment with the prison salon) shows up with fake passports. Now all Luis needs is his daughter. So he leaves Pedrito with Alicia so he can go get her.

It seems as if Fer woke up on groundhog day because she forgot her baby was not there until Pedro reminds her that he is missing. She breaks down again. She wants the pain to go away. Amelia is trying to tell her that they shouldn’t let the pain remove their focus to get that baby back.

Part V.

Hiding behind a tree outside of the storage shed, Luis is vowing to remove Fer from the poverty (um, didn’t you just get her a fortune) that he condemned her to. He is all smiles as he can’t wait to tell her that he has Pedrito and can’t wait to whisk them all away. (Luis has completely lost his mind. I’m with the Cheshire cat on this one.)

Fer is still on the floor having flashbacks of her pregnancy, giving birth, and seeing her son for the first time. Her family is consoling her when Marissa and Ordonez come baring even more burden. They explain that Super Oh thinks that Apo died in that fire instead of Luis. Fer is confused because she buried Luis so he better be dead. Well, if he is alive then he has a lot of money that he stole from the bank that we can’t recover. They tell them that when he was caught, Luis was at the airport trying to board a plane to Taiwan. Fer then loses her (s**t) again because if he’s in Taiwan then how are we going to get him back?! Carlos swears that he will get Pedrito back.

The end.

Well that's all...and I agree Nina - you sleep light as hell when you have a baby. The slightest sound wakes you. I'm tired, hot (new unit old one not fixable and he tried), and ready to shower.

Good morning, Kendra. Gee, this was a complicated episode, what with all the red herrings, and you were wonderful in your insight and snark!

Well, the writers did a good job of leading us around to all the possible suspects, and then ruling them all out. For Super Oh, that leaves only one possibility. ('Watson, if you have ruled everything else out, then what remains must be the truth').

Luis has transitioned from devious to BSC. I have to admit that he seems to have a certain way with Pedrito. The kid calms down when he plays with him.

I laughed when Malquerida was lined up with the other models. She, in flats, and they in high heels! She came up to about their belly buttons. What she lacked in height was superseded by her spunkiness. I so hope that she doesn't go back to jail.

I don't get Alicia's motivation for helping Luis. There has never been any love connection between them either implied or expressed, and she knows that he got sent to the big house for his many misdeeds, so where is the motivation?

Thank you, Kendra. This was great.

David

Love it Kendra. Thanks

"we know she’s 2 sandwiches, a soda, and a bag of chips short of a picnic and doesn’t want to be rescued"

Of course again it's Super O to set things in order.

Carlos definitely is not a guy you turn to during a crisis.

Fernanda should drop classes and try again next year.

We are running out of time for Javier to have eyes for anyone other than his ball and chain Maribel.

I'm with you Mariana. They be trippin

Steve, yup, Luis isn't just a guy with a loose interpretation of the truth, or one who doesn't see boundaries where property rights are concerned. He is a BAD guy.

tofie: "Fernanda should drop classes and try again next year." I agree. As an added benefit, she may get a different teacher than the one she has who seems to be retired Marine Corps drill instructor.

David

Kendra--You were hot tonight, the recap, too. Thank you so much.

Groundhog Day, indeed. I'm grateful to the writers for having Fer regain her senses in just a few minutes and not have to see her carted off to be another one of Dr. Jav's patients-who-seem-to-need-treatment-forever. The agonized family surrounding a distraught Fer was enough drama for me.

Loved your SWAT Team rescues. If I had been one of the first two, though, I would have been scared to death at a bunch of guys breaking down the door, even if I'd been kept a prisoner for months. Medina's reassuring words would not have been enough. But this is a tn, this is a tn and we're required to spend more time on Fer's tearful agony.

Tofie-- You manage to say so much with so few words, especially what you said about Carlos. He never fails to get supercharged and in somebody's face blowing off steam. Fer will have her hands full.

David--I don't understand Alicia helping Luis either. The only thing I can think of is that he had no friends or accomplices left and he certainly couldn't ask any of his enemies to help. IIRC, Luis yelled at Alicia several times in the beginning, when he was actually running a law office, and even promised to fire her if she ever did something or other again. She was a neutral background character, so I guess it made sense to bring her back.

Luis is now certifiably BSC. We all heard him. I hate it when writers turn to this at the end of a good story. Why couldn't he just be pure evil? Mariana is wearing her evil without the necessary BSC and so is Izzy. Huzzah to both of them.

David--Fer's teacher would make a splendid villaness in another tn. She certainly showed her chops. Are Marine Corp drill instructors really that way?

She seemed to have it in for Fer. She did concede she played nicely but without passion. Of course, she couldn't have guessed what Fer had just gone through, but you don't humiliate your students in front of others the was she did (although Fer did try to talk to her afterwards and got an additional talking to).

Anita, I don't know how Marine Corps drill instructors are now in this politically correct atmosphere, but back in the day they were mean as hell. The Marines were historically our shock troops, so they had to be trained to a level that would allow them to do some really remarkable things without hesitating. Watch "Full Metal Jacket."

David

David--Does having watched An Officer and a Gentleman count? Back in the day, I heard enough of Full Metal Jacket never to want to see it, the Vietnam war was still a very fresh wound. Maybe the passage of time will put it in a different perspective. Speaking of different perspectives, OT--have you seen Eye in the Sky? Is this what we've come to? Warfare that allows one to go home to dinner and family after pinpointing a target--with consequences?

Anita, An Officer and a Gentleman shows some stressful situations for the Naval trainees, but it does not compare to the dire mental and (sometimes) physical abuse that the Marine Corps used. DI's could and did use every nasty, blasphemous, belittling word they could think of. The theory was to tear down their civilian identities, then build them back up into Marines, and Marines are proud of their training and heritage: "Once a Marine, always a Marine;" and "Semper Fidelis."

I have not seen Eye in the Sky. It sounds like drone warfare. Compared to how we bombed Germany and Japan during WWII, drone strikes are remarkably accurate and hold collateral damage to a minimum.

By the way, the air campaign against Germany was really bloody. Operating out of England, the Eighth Air Force from roughly 1943 until 1945, lost about 25,000 U.S. airmen. The Marines, on the other hand, for the entire war, and on all fronts all over the world, lost something like 17,000 killed.

As far as going home to dinner and family, my oldest son served two combat tours in Iraq and wound up killing two enemy soldiers. I cannot tell you how stressful it was for my wife and I to have him in constant danger like that, so I guess I am fine with having our guys be as far away from danger as possible.

David

OT: David--It was a drone strike--sitting in a Texas trailer bombing an enclave on another continent and a direct hit. It opened my eyes to something I'd only heard about. Seeing it, albeit in a movie was sobering. Yes, WWII bombing destruction of cities, land and lives was worse--on both sides--England suffered, too. My Prussian relatives were dumped in Dresden after the bombing and settled in what became the Russian sector--just who they were fleeing from in East Prussia. When the war ended a few months later, they were able to get out and into the American sector in time before Germany was divided between East and West.

I'm so glad your son came through his tours in one piece. I remember you shared his homecoming with us on another telenovela, long ago, now.

Thank you, Anita, Delilah, and Kendra for your fabulous recaps this week.

I thought Paulina Goto did a great job of acting last night. I guess going to that acting school in New York City has paid off. And I read that she learned to play the violin for this role, too. That's dedication.

I wasn't so impressed with Jorge Aravena and Lissette Morelos, but maybe it was the direction. They looked concerned for Fernanda, but not so anxious about Pedrito. Pedro raised the toddler alone for 2 years while Fernanda was in prison, so his craziness should have come out again. Horacio Pancheri, too much yelling.

I think that Brandon Peniche delivered a shining performance when he was counseling Lucero. It seemed so real.

The child actors are adorable in this TN. I loved how Pedrito danced around Fernanda while she was playing the violin. I can't wait until Pedrito is happy again.

Heads Up Folks--I'm getting ready to post the new Front Page. It will have to last us until Tuesday morning, so tonight's episode and Monday's will go on this new page.

Kendra, outstanding recap. Yall know that louy has flown over the cuckcoos nest? After he set it on fire to it. I hate that he is even touchin that child. I have no idea what it feels like to loose a child, but I imagine it would be enough to make you loose your mind. You want to just shut that pain out, so you tell yourself "my child was not taken". Thats heartbreakung To even look at as a show on tv. At least this will have a happy ending.

If izzy changes for the better, I will be surprised. And I like surprises. But I wont hold my breath with this one. I enjoyed that slap, but I wish she would have slapped her again. The heffa deserved it a second time. I cant stand her. Teo deserves better.

Things are lookin up. Even when it don't look like it. Little pedrito is the cutest little baby I've seen in a long time. The last time I saw cute babies it was those twins on "La gata", they were so pretty. Get that baby away from the lout.

Glad to see the sister Brides have been rescued, even The Crazy one who wants to stay. Is she she stupid or what?

Kendra Thank you.
