A Que No Me Dejas (AQNMD) #11. Monday September 26, 2016. Discussion Page + Episode Highlights

Hello Patio Pals! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Something urgent came up and I must travel to another city to address it. This means that, unfortunately, I am unable to watch and recap Monday’s episode in a timely manner. My apologies to all. Please feel free to discuss the episode and/or provide highlights in the comment section. Many thanks.

Our friend Vivi has kindly provided the following highlights:

-- Inés reprimands Paulina for lying about where she spent the night and with whom, when she was supposed to stay with Mauricio at the hospital. Pau decides to confess the whole truth to her mom.

-- Nuria phones Adrián to gloat that she was right: He and Pau never broke up and Camilo was being used by her sister as a cover-up! Otherwise, why would Adrián rush back all the way from Playa Linda to Puerto Esperanza in order to verify that Pau is indeed dating Camilo? Another thing that confirms to Nuria that Pau and Adrián are still an item is the scene she witnessed at the airport, with Pau begging Adrián to listen to what she has to say. Adrián insists that he and Pau are indeed broken up and that he only returned to Puerto Esperanza to reproach Pau for forgetting him so soon after their breakup. Nuria starts coming on to Adrián for the umpteeth time, and for the umpteenth time, she gets rejected by him. He tells her that he would never ever be interested in her, even if she were the last woman on the face of the earth, then he hangs up on her!

-- Gonzo convinced Mónica to move. The kids are not on board. Elisa smells a rat and knows it’s a trick.

-- Nuria asks a frienemy at uni to help her find a way to buy a degree. At the same time, Gonzo tells Leonel to investigate just how many credits Nuria still has to take to get her damn degree.

-- Mau is released from the hospital. Everyone happily welcomes him home, except Nuria. He’s having nightmares about the shooting. The doc recommends therapy.

-- Camilo admits his true feelings to clueless Pau. But he wants to continue with the charade until she’s married in a month, because he feels he owes her after the way he dumped her and broke her heart.

-- Karen is crushing on Camilo.

-- Although she hates lying to Gonzo, Inés will support Pau and Adrián and keep quiet about their wedding plans. -- Pau tells Inés how Nuria flew out of the city to go tell Adrián about her (pretend) relationship Camilo. Inés is hopping mad about how Nuria lied to them about the exam, party, and getting robbed at the party. Although she questions Nuria, and knows Nuria is lying through her teeth, there is nothing she can do about it without exposing Pau’s ongoing relationship with Adrián.

-- Adrián sneaks into Pau’s room and breaks the news about his sister and brother-in-law moving to Playa Linda since her dad drove them out of biz. The two lovers realize they have to come up with a new plan for where they’ll live.

-- While happily packing up, Julieta finds a notarized document pertaining to the business her dad had with Gonzo. She finally makes the connection to Édgar’s name. The business is called Ezquerro, which is Édgar’s second last name, as per the obituary she read earlier. She goes to the notary, but he needs proof that her dad is dead and that she’s his heir. She agrees to come back tomorrow with the needed documents.

-- Camilo definitely thinks his dad is cheating on his mom. He becomes more certain when he sees plane tickets for Alfonso and Mónica (to go see the new house in Chetumal).

-- Pau takes Mau to a beach called Playa de las Tortugas, to meet up with Adrián. They meet and start talking to Pau’s two little brothers.

Thank you for visiting our patio. Please join us again for the next capítulo. We’ll be saving you a seat!

Sorry, everyone. Lo siento de verdad :(
Have a good day!

I'll comment more later but here is advice column discussion that Paulina needs to read! The Julietas of this world are real.

I hope all is well, Nandicta. Don't worry about the recap. Safe travels.

For some reason the show started and ended early, so my recording started at the end of a phone call between Nuria and Adrian, where he tells her off after she tries to gloat about Paulina dumping him for Camilo.

Gonzo convinced Monica to move. The kids are not on board. Elisa smells a rat and knows it's a trick.
Nuria asks a frienemy at uni to help her find a way to buy a degree. At the same time, Gonzo tells Leonel to investigate just how many credits Nuria has still to take to get her damn degree.
Mau is released from the hospital. Everyone happily welcomes him home, except Nuria. He's having nightmares about the shooting. The doc recommends therapy.
Camilo admits his true feelings to clueless Pau. But he wants to continue with the charade until she's married in a month, because he feels he owes her after the way he dumped her and broke her heart.
Karen is crushing on Camilo.
Although she hates lying to Gonzo, Inez will support Pau and Adrian and keep quiet about their wedding plans.
Adrian sneaks into Pau's room and breaks the news about his sister and BIL moving to his new town since her dad drove them out of biz. They realize they have to come up with a new plan for where they'll live.
While happily packing up, Juli finds a notarized document pertaining to the business her dad had with Gonzo. She finally makes the connection to Edgar's name. She goes to the notary, but he needs proof that her dad is dead and she's his heir. She'll come back tomorrow with the needed docs.
Camilo definitely thinks his dad is cheating on his mom. He becomes more certain when he sees plane tickets for Alfonso and Monica (to go see the new house).
Pau takes Mau to the beach (to meet up with Adrian). They meet and start talking to Pau's two little brothers.

Nandicta, I'm not watching Dejas but hope all is well with you. Have a safe trip.

One more thing, Pau tells Inez how Nuria flew out of the city to go tell Adrian about Camilo. Inez is hopping mad about how Nuria lied to them about the exam, party, and getting robbed at the party. Although she questions Nuria, and knows Nuria is lying through her teeth, there's nothing she can do about it without exposing Pau's ongoing relationship with Adrian.

My question is, why don't Inez and Gonzo throw Nuria out? She's rude to everyone-- her parents, her sister, her cousin, her parents' friends, the employees, the list goes on... She's mean, lazy, won't work or finish her degree. Why do they tolerate this?

Gracias, Vivi.

My knee-jerk reaction to Julieta's find is that it might distract her for a while, but in the long term it just seems to give her more ammunition to use against Paulina and her family. The only thing she and Adrian can do is to escape from her altogether is to change their names and move to the other side of the planet. Until Julieta is in the manicomio or the cemetery Adrian will never have a girlfriend, wife, children, or even a life.

I don't blame Monica's sons for objecting to this move. They might smell the same rat their grandmother does.

As to your question about why Gonzalo and Inez haven't thrown Nuria out, I've seen this in life with parents in far more modest circumstances. My useless brother was valued over me by a narcissistic mother who needed him to need her while I wasn't valued because I was not like her and the mother of two daughters who made the older one into the Tita of their family while the younger one got away with slacking off, possibly due to depression.

None of this is good. I suspect that Gonzalo and Ines have some kind of guilt complex about doing anything like that, like most parents. Ines might fear the fallout once Paulina flies the coop (if she isn't ultimately prevented from doing so) and throwing Nuria out now would not improve the situation much because she'll rant on and on about how Mauricio is replacing her in their hearts, budget, and inheritance.

If Nuria manages to fake getting a degree that secret will be outed eventually when she refuses to go to work. Whether there will be hell for her to pay for that is another question with probably the same answer.

Urban- I'm wondering if Leonel will warn Nuria about Gonzo looking into her actually prospects for graduating, and help her fake getting the degree. Right now, she still owes HIM a favor, but he could make the payback even more advantageous by making her even more indebted to him.

He will definitely blackmail her into bed; no doubt of that. The one thing that might stand in the way of this is how much Gonzalo is willing to pay for the information he provides but I think he will double dip.

I don't think Gonzo plans to pay Leonel anything extra for looking into the credits/degree thing. It's all part of Leonel's job, as Gonzo's loyal guard dog, to take care of any of his shady/unorthodox requests. I'm sure he's already getting paid well, although what he wants is the public recognition in the form of the job title, which Camilo has received just for being of the right class/education/son of one of the partners. I think he'd also love to have the boss's daughter (Nuria) as his wife, as a status symbol.

If so he's less intelligent than he even looks. It's much too obvious that Nuria would never be a good wife or even girlfriend. He has to know that she is pursuing Adrian just to vex Paulina.

How's Daddy Murat doing these days ?

Hey guys Im here in north Florida, we haven't
Had a univision since yesterday. Anyone else
Havin that problem? They are just off the air.
Gone. But I csn read the recaps, thanks for that.

Nina, check their website for the episode. And there were no episodes last night in prime because of the debate.

oh I know about the debate. its just that, the network is just off the air. Maybe it's the station in that City that's got the problem. Thanks guys.

Hey it was the station, their satellite is down.
Stuff happens :-(

Oh no. So sorry, Nina.

I wanted to smack Monica when she questioned putting the house in her name. Shut up, Monica! That's the best thing that could happen to you and the boys given the jerk you for some reason still want to marry. I'm planning a trip to the Yucatan, and would change my plans to go talk to Monica if this show weren't two years old and these people were real. It'd be worth it.

Kelly

Kelly- LOL! I was thinking the same thing when she was fighting getting the new house put in her name. That might be the only thing of value she walks away with from this affair. Oh, and her two kids, who will end up hating her.

You bet, Vivi.

I don't blame you one bit kelly. I don't really understand women like her. Its bad enough she put herself in this pool of self deception, don't bring the innocent children into this stupid fantasy of thinkin this married man is going to leave his clueless respectable wife for the chick on the side. If the two babies she had for him didn't Make him leave, She need to take what she can and dump his twotimin lyin a$$ With his clueless wife. I
Wonder why he didn't have anymore kids
With the wife? After the girls she could't have
Anymore? So he ups and have two boys, by someone who could give him what he wants, that can continue the family name. Ooooooo thats dirty. Ok Nandicta, thanks for puttin up discussion page. Be safe.

Univision seemed to have trouble with color-blocking yesterday. Only got half the episode and there was nothing on Hulu when I checked.

They certainly pulled out all the stops on little Mauricio's bedroom...looked like DisneyWorld. Still have a soft spot for Gonzalo. I can see why he gets away with murder, so to speak. Quite the charmer is our lad.

Finding Adrian's perpetual jealousy tiresome. Liked the actor so much better in Lo Que la Vida Me Robó. As a shifty rogue he can be delightful. As all out galan, not so much.

Anon: Monica needs to be cold-cocked (see Franco punching Marinita from Pasion y Poder).

Hello everyone! Hope you're enjoying your weekend. Thank you for your kind wishes and for the lively discussion.

Vivi, you're a gem for posting those highlights! Thank you, amiga! I'll add bullet points for the missing first scene (scenes?) that your DVR cut off and add everything to the main post when I watch the episode.

Niecie, thank you for popping in just to leave a kind message. Much appreciated.

Nina, thanks, dear. I hope you get your satellite problems fixed soon.

JudyB, Osvaldo Benavides is no Colunga pero tiene lo suyo, he has his own special charm and he is very talented. Talent is schmexy! ;)

Anon @10:53, the spam has been removed. I'm usually on top of these things but this week life took over.

Catch you all next week! :)
