Hey I have an idea. Maybe just one or two of you just tell the flippin truth ! Tell Gramma and Peg about Luc, then while the cops are there tell them the truth about SoeBad and Evil. And maybe your backup truther can spill the beans about AanL'Viper's murder(s) That should stir things up a tad.

Things are a wee bit frosty between Rambo and Pop. Speaking of, maybe he will pop him right in the face before they put the cuffs on him. I don't see a solution, as it looks like Shitforbrains covered his tracks pretty well, and it is too late to dust the keyboard for prints.

Julie: You and Hulu were pretty close. As accurately as I could stab the start and stop when the actual program was running, my time was 39 minutes and 30 seconds. If for the sake of math we round up, that is 2 minutes of show per 1 minute of advertisements. I thought it was worse. I would have sworn they showed more ads when the show was a really intense episode, but the interruptions by commercials probably just made it seem that way.

I'm not super worried about Ana Lucia and the danger from AnaLet, because she basically has the mafia (Ev and all his goons) and all the people in the pension looking out for her safety. Ramiro, on the other hand, has ticked of Ev and his mafia, AnaLet, Valentin, Orlando, and even his own shady daddy. I envision a hospital visit for that young man. Hey, maybe he'll get whacked on the head and end up with a split personality too! One personality will be in love with Llora, and the other with Maribel. :)

Neither Chana's predictions, nor the doctor's diagnosis hold out much hope for SantMarc's survival at the end of this thing. Hmmm... Perhaps because a new, melded personality will be born as the other two fade away?
 

At least Santiago finally admitted to AnaLu that the reason he won't tell her what the big secret is, is because he doesn't want her to hate him. Great. So glad you're putting yourself above AnaLu's right to know about her origins. Go sit in the selfish corner with Soledad and Remedios. Plus, I wish people would stop saying Marcelo is a "danger" to Soledad. No. The police are a danger to Soledad, because she committed a crime. Whether Marcelo spills the beans to her bio family, or they find out another way, the result will be the same. Sol will get some new silver bracelets. Santi should have just told AnaLu that Sol is a fugitive from the law (true) and that's why they need to go on the run.
 

Oh last night was almost painful to watch-- we either got weepy or creepy.

AnaLu--my dear. You are 25, spunky and have a talent that you might be able to translate to a different group or company. Get the hell out of Dodge, as they say, and tell everyone to take a hike. Yes, Santi is cute as hell, but he is one mixed up mess and frankly, you should be pretty pissed he won't be honest with you. Just leave, send your "mother" a postcard from the road. Let her stew.

Oily and Tin are NOT must see TV. I like a good villain or bad guy, these two are just annoying as hell.

And one more episode of having to deal with weepy Soledad and I am going to flip a patio table.

I continue to head shake over the absolute trust and seriousness these people take with a fortune teller to make decisions about their lives.


 

I agree, Vivi. He should just have told her that. He could also get away with telling her that he doesn't know everything Marcelo knows, which is also true.

Not OT: A close friend of mine was recently operated on to remove a major brain tumor. She had the crippling headaches that bother SantMarc and she fell down in her kitchen on her own birthday (July 27, the same date as JS). She was weak on the left side for several weeks because the tumor was on the right side of her brain. No split personality problem.

She is now out of the hospital and just started radiation treatment. It will be ten sessions total. She was told that she would have one or more of the following temporary side effects:

-- sunburn effect on skin
-- short-term memory loss (not of important stuff)
-- hair loss

She was tested for metastases in the lymph nodes, lungs, and bones and had none. She is older than SantMarc is supposed to be and she's a fighter.
 

All the best to your friend, Urban. She sounds like she's a strong woman, but it always helps to have friends like you in your corner.
 

I'm sure the survivability and symptoms depend a lot on exactly where the brain tumor is located. And SantiMarc's identity disorder might be entirely separate from the tumor anyway. But it's an additional problem that he didn't need, and it's going to complicate things between Marcelo and AnaLet. It will probably make it easier for her to manipulate him, because any time he "remembers" something she doesn't like, she can claim that it's the tumor putting ideas into his head.

If he tells her about it at all. As long as he's Santi, he might not even want to go "home." (I'm a little worried that desperate Remedios will tie him to a chair.)
 

Looking forward to the recap Sneaky! So I only caught bits and pieces of last night's episode but I was mad that Santi went to see AnaLu. She had already lost Santi once, when Marc said he was dead. Why go back to her just so she can go through the pain of losing him a second time if he dies from the tumor? He should have let her go. She's much more likely to leave town on her own accord if she knows Santi is gone.

Urban, I hope your friend recovers completely. It sounds like they caught it in good time. I wish her all of the best.

I just hope that how they handle Santi's issue is done realistically. I agree Julie, which side of Santi wins out prior to the surgery? If it's Marcelo, and AnaLoon gets a whiff of his tumor, she could try and prevent the surgery too. As much as Rem hanging all over him annoys, I'd rather have him with her then AnaLoon.
And at least this isn't one of those TN's where the local doctor, who is also the OBGYN, and performed an emergency heart surgery is not also the brain surgeon.

I was reminded last night of an interesting novel I read some years ago: Holy Madness, by Mark Salzman. It's about a nun whose holy visions turn out to be caused by a temporal lobe tumor. The theme appears now and then in fiction and reality both. I guess the writers knew what they were doing when they named the character Santiago.
 

What I have learned from my friend's case is that this is something that strikes very suddenly. She didn't have any warning before the headaches for a few days then the fall she couldn't get up from because of the weakness on her left side. Today is her second radiation treatment. It typically causes a feeling of exhaustion but nothing that a couple hours' rest doesn't cure.

I've said it before, but the name Santiago suits this actor better than Marcelo, which is a name I always associate with dark-haired men, possibly because of Marcello Mastroianni. Tonight I will be seeing Marcelo Alvarez in Cav/Pag. Great voice on that man! He's also a good actor and very charming (I've met him).

The brain tumor may have nothing to do with SantMarc's split personality, but the trauma of realizing that Ana MeMeMe not only took a contract out on his life but caused a long-term professional colleague to betray him in the process is probably part of it. Think about what this means to a man who just realized that his wife is a sick narcissist who didn't want him to find her long-missing sister. He correctly assessed that Ana MeMeMe might kill Ana Lucia but still doesn't quite realize why.
 

OOPS, forgot something.

SantMarc might need a new name when his two personalities merge, as in The Three Faces of Eve. Let's see if we can think of a good one.

I just looked up Christine Costner Sizemore (the real, original Eve who actually had more like two dozen personalities, not a nice and neaty two) on wikipedia. Turns out she died just six weeks ago. RIP.

OT...Urban...I am sending out good vibrations for your friend. I just got an email from one of my best friends who has been battling stage 4 lung cancer for over a year. She just got the results of her third scan , and the tumor has shrunk to a tiny nub which might just be scar tissue. She will continue to take her meds...which are some type of gene therapy in pill form that have some side effects that she must deal with including a bad rash aggravated by heat and sun.

Well, now it is time to seize the day and enjoy this beautiful, sunny , breezy day. After an abnormally hot , humid summer, the temps have dropped to the low 80s. Maybe I will try doing some of AnaLu's acrobatic moves in the laundry fluttering on my line.

So this isn't a hard and fast rule, but I've noticed that Roman names (Marcelus, Aníbal, etc) tend to be used for snooty and often unpleasant characters, largely Eurocentric, while the names of saints and Old Testament prophets are often given to salt of the earth types.

So Marky Marc doesn't know what Santi is doing and vice versa, we are to believe.

Actually I can not figure out how Ramiro is going to do this Daddy thing.
A. Deadmundo covers his tracks well as he has learned to over many years.
B. Even when the evidence points directly to his Dad, Ram will not believe it.
C. When Evilisto and Deadmundo conspired to Galanap Ramiro it made a typical TN babynapping look harder.
D. Violetin will do anything to hinder Rambo simply to deprive him the glory.

I would enjoy this so much more with 70 to 90 percent of the characters dead.
Speaking of...did one of you sneak and kill Frumpmundo behind my back? I haven't seen him in a while. Oh well, no crying over spilt milk.

I liked it when AnaLetMe told Inooki she didn't even enjoy it anyway. And he told her he knew better, and according to the CCs here in FloriDuh he was pretty graphic about it. Yikes !

TOA- Actually Marcelo knows everything that Santi does. It's Santi who doesn't know what Marcelo is doing, or has tiny flashbacks (beating Dan), or "a bad feeling" about what he did when he was in Marcelo mode. That's why Santi is so clueless and confused all the time, but Marcelo is always ready to get stuff done when he emerges.
 

The problem with Marcelo, though, is that what he is ready to do isn't always the right thing. Getting physically violent with women, for example, is wrong and will put him on many viewers' shit lists.

As to whether Ana MeMeMe enjoyed the sex with Inaki, I think she enjoyed wrapping him around her pinky. Did the earth move? I doubt it. Female narcissists are often frigid and I am willing to bet she is. She just gets off on the conquest.

Bad Ana is pissed that Inaki played her and supposedly doesn’t know anything about Analu, he thinks its funny that after all the times she strung him along he finally got one over on her. She’s not amused and its ruined her night. She’s disappointed in him as an info source and as a man *scornful look* Inaki’s rock hard ego (and everything else, whew how many gym horas went into making that?) won’t take that, he knows she didn’t fake her O cause he knows *eyebrow wiggle* Anyway he’s not entirely useless, he can always find out info about Analu and feed it to her by dribs and drabs, being nicely compensated all along the way. We-el ok then but she still doesn’t feel like necking.

In other news:
Inaki’s mom realizes she’s been stood up. No dinner for her, boo hoo.

Rabo Verde drunkenly tells Old Flame about the girl he wants.

Llora meets w/Ramiro – The foundation is in trouble


Santiago has a brain tumor (Did we know about that? Did I miss a scene while I was throwing up? Did they cut the doctors telling them? What the hey-nonny nonny? ) Remedios thinks if they take the tumor out, Marcelo will go with it. Santiago thinks the personality who will go into the medial incinerator with the tumor is him. She reminds him if they don’t take it out he’ll die anyway, but he’s certain this is how Marcelo wins.

Chana reads the cards, and tells Analu that everything has both a beginning and an end honey. Analu isn’t happy about that news.

Llora shares the bad news about the foundation w/Val. But wait, Val already has a plan to save the foundation, its his old plan about the recitals spiffed up and shining w/the potential of donations! I guess they’ll have to give it a go. And now she’s telling him all about how her Abue hired a PI who said her sis was dead but she doesn’t believe it, because Ramiro and how he promised her when they marry in 6 mos her sis will be there. Valentin looks stricken to hear they actually plan to marry.
Now Llora tells Ramiro about how they’re putting plan Valentin into action and he’s not happy but sucks it up.

BadAna yells on voicemail at the tart she sicced on TioM and then yells at Leonore when there’s nobody else around to make miserable.

Remedios invites Santiago to stay and eat and then leaves him alone w/Analu to talk nd hug and so he can ask her what all Marcelo told her. Upshot, she’s the one keeping him, Santiago, alive.


Javi keeps buying Maribel prezzies, well at least he’s getting platonic friend kisses in return. He also promises her a ride in his bros new car and dashes out. Orlando gets upset that Maribel is paying attn. to someone besides him and takes her new necklace to play keep away, till Ramiro comes along and decides to work out some of his Valentin based frustration on Orlando, slamming him up against the wall.
 

part 2

Bestie wants Abue and Old Flame to talk things out so she has them meet up at her place. Not that it does any good, Abue only throws out shrewish hints about how she hates treacherous/lecherous men and wont listen when Old Flame tells her it was all a plot. She’s stuck on the chick who showed up 6 mos pregnant w/his kid.

Sole and Evaristo meet up. She knows Chana works for him. He says Chana is just helping him keep the deathbed promise he made to her mom and btw he’s the PI Abue hired and he made Ramiro and Marcelo think Sophia was Analu, so no worries, he can buy them time. Sole doesn’t think time will help.

Analu is asking Santi if he knows anything about Sophia and he can’t lie anymore, he knew about Sophia and he knows what secrets Marcelo was referring to but he can’t tell her, even though she swears she totally won’t hate him, he can’t tell her cause its not his place and basically he just doesn’t want to.

Maribel thanks Ramiro w/lots of flirting, ya know – ooh you’re so strong, nobody’s ever stood up for me like that before, ect. He eats it up and says he’ll be there for her from now on, then along comes Chana. Now he knows she knows Sole and Analu and he doesn’t believe anything she told him, even though she tries to convince him she was on the level, except that she was protecting her old friends Sole and Analu from random stranger him. He’s not buying anything she’s selling anymore even when she reads his palm and says oooh I told you not to take the gun and now you’ve killed a guy, darn kid.


Santi tells Analu how he remembers how Marcelo threatened Sole, w/o telling her what he threatened Sole with, and tells her he can’t control Marcelo and they are in danger. She and Sole should run far away.
Analu’s worried blue eyes stare into Santiago’s worried blue eyes and it’s the end. Of the episode, at least.

Ok I for sure missed some things, reading the comments helps, but the doctor explaining the brain tumor bit, I for sure missed that and I'm not even sure when or how. oh dear.

Usually galans only get shot, I don't remember many times having the male lead get something this seriously life threatening. Now if he were the second male lead in a KDrama he'd be toast, but as he's the main love interest (sorry Inaki) of two of the main characters I'm pretty sure they won't kill him.

You didn't miss hearing the doc say anything. They didn't give the actor any speaking lines. We only heard music over the scene as the doc broke the sad news to Remedios and Santi in his office. Then at lunch after that, Rem, Ram and Santi discuss the diagnosis.

Normally, I would agree that a galan wouldn't be killed off. But Chana told AnaLu this episode that SantMarc was not long for this world, and she's always right.
 

Vivi...Perhaps Chana means Santi (MArcelo 2.0)will die and the original Marcelo will live on.

sneaky..wow, thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty. I had food poisoning twice..once when I was about 14 after eating chicken salad out...never going to eat that again except at home. THat really knocks you down. Hope that you are feeling much better, pobrecita.

Great line Sneaky...yes, our dear Iñaki has both a rock hard ego and bod'. I'm all for a few more tussles with our devuiys Ana Leticia just so we can see our clever fellow in action. I'd say they both spent a lot of hours in the gym or studio.

UA...glad to hear that your friend is doing well. We take our bodies for granted and they are such a miracle. A friend of mine just broke her right arm. No big deal, right? But she can't drive, can't go back to teaching until it heals (no writing on blackboard, correction papers etc.) Can't open bottles, can't get dressed without help.
