Tres Veces Ana #97: Mariano Does A Double Take And Ana MiMi Plays A Double Fake

Parte 1~

The next morning Ana Lucia brings Remedios her morning coffee out onto the veranda.  “—This coffee has a purpose doesn’t it?”  Yep.  Ana Lucha wants Remedios to tell her all about Santiago’s wife.  At the same time, Ana Leticia is up in Rodrigo’s suite of rooms asking him about his and her abuela’s relationship.  She tells him she’s certain there was more there than a simple friendship, but that’s all she’s gonna get outta that sly old fox.  (Word up, Ana MiMi.  This dude didn’t make his millions by giving away the farm.)   If the guy’s sparse with his pesos, he’s twice that with conversation. It seems he’s got Ana MiMi’s number, especially since she must take after Ernestina’s scheming daddy….

At the same time, Ana Laura is tearfully telling Ernie the painful truth about how the car accident happened.  Ana Letmeeeee was sitting next to the car window and arguing with Ana Lucia.  "--Daddy scolded her.  She moved over easy.  She pulled at the steering wheel of the car, pulling Daddy’s arm away.  He put on the brakes.  I still remember the squealing of the tires [rechinar/rechinado = grinding, creaking, squeaking, squealing, rasping].  He lost control.  I lost consciousness.  I woke up in the clinic.  They had cut off my leg.  Ana Leticia remembers a lot more of this.  She dreamt a lot about this and has had nightmares ever since we were children.”  Ernie starts to comment about A MiMi having blamed A Laura all this time.  A Lora says she knows this, and how she says he lost control, but no, Grams…..and now you know the truth.

In the lobby of the Grand Rodrigo, Don Isidro sees A MiMi and mistakes her for Ana Lucia.  She’s a pure vision of loveliness and diamond-studded sensuality – one which even The Material Girl would be proud, considering A MiMi’s choice of lacy black bustier today.   Don Isidro’s tongue drops down, slaps onto the floor, does a triple roll and then snaps back into his mouth.  “—Ana Lucia, I finally found you!”  Ana Leticia is WTF impactada, but recovers instantaneously.

Across town, at Claudia’s apartment, Mariano arrives and begins to threaten the moment he comes through her door.  Claw (in a hot red number so tight you’d think she was literally sewn into it) tells him she’s got the proof and she has nothing to gain by tricking him in any way.  Come sit down for coffee and we’ll talk.  As for Mariano…you’d think this dude by now would know when to take yes for an answer.  Eventually Mo comes around.  Claw is persuasive enough.  “—I’ve seen her and spoken to her.  She’s actually quite delightful.”   She only wants them to all finally be reunited.  She loves him and has always been there for him….no matter what and blah, blah, blah.  She gives him the address, we assume.

Back at The Grand Rodrigo once more, should auld acquaintance be forgot and never brought to mind? In Don Isidro’s case, Viewerville believes it is certainly worth considering, even more so with his pedantic behavior.  Perhaps A MiMi might at first have agreed.  Although greatly astonished at this slobbering hoary old fart’s mistaking her for her long lost triplet, and his rather presumptuous attitude towards the one whom he assumes is her sister, it still doesn’t take long for Ana Letmeeeee to get this old goober’s number—or to give him hers.  “—Considering how I used to help you all so much of the time…’thank you, Don Isidro?’……”

A MiMi is totally appreciative of the old dude’s eye-popping praises of her new, glamorous and citified looks.  “—How have you been, Don Isidro?”  “—Fine, and really anxious to see you!  But wow, how the city has changed you!”  “—The city gives one the need to change …much different from—“ “—San Nicolás…”  “--Yes…San Nicolás…”  Isindro asks what’s she doing in the hotel.  Why looking for him, she lies.  She’d heard he was there and came to find him.  "--Oh, you learned through Don Arsemio?"  Yep, she lies again.  Well, he says, he’s staying in a luxurious suite of rooms.  "--Want to come up to see?"

Ana MiMi raises her eyebrows in surprise. “—I bet you’ve never seen a set of rooms so pretty, eh? We could talk there.” (Je-je-je...is that right! And I have an oasis in the middle of the Mojave to sell you.)  Here is fine, she says, a bit non-plussed.  “—Will we have something to drink?” Whatever she wants is fine with him.  She tells him she wants to hear all about the pueblo and everyone there--all the news that fit to print, and even that what ain’t. She learns about "her" mama, Solidad, and Soli’s best friend, Chana….

At Rem’s Rooming House For Romantics once again, Rem tells Ana Lucia how lovely and nice San-Marco’s wife is.  (Yep, she was snowed so heavy it might has well have been an avalanche.)  Ana Lucha is upset at the way Rem is now defending her.  So, what’s his wife know about Ana Lu?  What Santi’s chosen to tell her, answers Rem: that she’s not to blame and knew nothing about his being married when they met.  "How were you going to know you were falling in love with a married man?"

Ana Lucha is a bit embarrassed. “—Oh, I knew from the start.  I had a hunch from the first. –So, is she still bitter towards me?  Has she forgiven him?”  Rem feels awkward about the whole thing and doesn’t want to take sides, she says. (Pardon me, but I believe she has.  She's on Santiago's side, y punto!) “—She loves him.  She loves him as much or more than you.”  “--No, she couldn’t,” replies Ana Lucia tearfully.  Rem finally tells her to forget Santi because the relationship is no longer possible.  Ana Lucha tells Rem that she sounds like her mother! “–Well, it is because she’s right!”  (Hear, hear!!)

Ana Lucha insists Santiago isn’t happy and will never be happy with his wife, nor with having to live Marcelo’s life—the life of a man he totally despises!

Over at the family manse, Curvas informs Santi and Ramiro that the taxi company took back his taxi and are taking his back pay to cover the payments.  He’s got no taxi and no job.  Ram suggests asking Ana Letmeeeee to take him back since she’s rolling in dough.  Santi doesn’t want anything more to do with that criminal, Marcelo’s, life or a single centavo from his papi.  Now, he laments, he’s got no way to earn a living.  Ram disagrees and reminds him he’s a private investigator.  They agree to open up a PI agency, with Curvas as their driver.  Just then Ernie’s driver is wheeling poor ol’ Valentin into the house for rehearsal time with A Lora.  Ram takes over so as not to miss a minute that TinTin and A Lora will be breathing the same air together.

TinTin snidely apologizes for not attending the engagement dinner the night before.  Ram answers back just as snidely, it was no problem.  “—You weren’t missed.” Ram then heads outside to bring in Ana Laura for the rehearsal.

San-Marco walks into the hall then.  TinTin chides Marcelo as well.  “—Two accidents and look at you!  Here you are as if nothing ever happened!  You must have a guardian angel—no, a devil that protects you!!”  San-Marco tries to apologize again for the supposed injury he caused TinTin, and says if there’s anyway he can make up for it…..  TinTin refuses it and laughs in his face.  “—A bit late for that isn’t it?  The woman I loved is dead because of you!!!”

In Uptown, at Viridiana’s Dress Shop, she and Solidad begin a discussion about how last night Mariano got a call about his neice, Ana Lucia whom he now has reason to believe never really died in some car accident years ago in which his brother and sister-in-law died.  The girls were triplets.  It’s been a terrible lifelong tragedy for the family.

Ram is there to seen Dona Nerina and Maribel, whose on the ropes practicing, sees him walk into the yard.  She fakes a bad fall that supposedly has twisted her ankle.  He carries her into the living room and takes off her shoe.  Nerina walks by and sees his too familiar treatment of beastly Bel.

Ram leaves Bel and pays a visit to Nerina’s room.  Nerina treats him rudely, taking the part of TinTin and blaming Ram for all his son’s romantic woes over the years.  This is a shock to Ram as well as Viewerville.  Ram defends his honor and says her son’s been lying to her.  She says she thinks the same of Ram.  Especially, the way he’s been playing up to Maribel.

Curvas and Santi have lunch together.  He tells Curvas he needs him to be his bodyguard – a guarura?  Yep.  He’s got one real enemy.  Show me who he is, says Curvas and I’ll tear him to bits.  [romperle su mandrina en gajos].  “--It ‘s me, myelf.”  He only needs a psych, insists Curvas 'cause this is all too crazy.

At the same time, A MiMi is playing I-sindro for the fool he is.  She flirts in only the way she can do.  He now believes that she wants him as much as he wants her.  He proposes to her,now that he’s sold his lands for a handsome sum; but  their relationship has to be finalized with Solidad first, of course.  Oh yes,  she’s got his number.  And she hands him hers, which he quickly takes once he’s assured she still has her… ahem…virtue…intact.  (Let me get this straight.  The woman looks like a sterling silver strumpet charging $10,000 per lay, and he’s asking if she’s still virginal???? Talk about your country bumpkin in a patch of calabazas!)
end parte 1~~
=========================
parte 2~

Nerina continues berating Ramiro over her son’s deserving to have the woman of his dreams.   Gawd, I guess I’d fight for this too, considering the earlier alternative—but Nerina doesn’t know that Ram knows enough of the truth about Gina’s background to object.  He tells her he doesn’t know Nerina’s past, but he certainly knows that of her son’s and when she learns it all she’s going to end up more disillusioned than ever she’s been in her entire life.  (Well, Viewerville knows better, but he’s not exactly blowing smoke here, either.)  Ram excuses himself politely and enters the backyard just as Mo walks in and is drop-my-hairy-jawed impactado at seeing Ana Lucia alive and in the flesh, practicing on the cloth ropes.

Ana Lucha notices as Ram heads Mo off at the pass and begs him to listen to what he has to say before doing anything.  I guess Mo is in too much shock to do more than allow himself to be dragged away all ears.

Back at the restaurant, San-Marco explains he’s got a duel personality now as well as a tumor, all on account of his initial car accident.  Curvas agrees his buddy’s up the proverbial creek without the necessary paddle [carne de cañón = cannon fodder]. “How can I protect you from you if you are him?” “--It’s that Marcelo is a really nasty piece of work.”  Curvas insists he’s not a dude about to fold.  "--You’re family, man, and I make my own rules."  But, so how’s he supposed to recognize this big twit [chabuco=idiot, retard]? “--You’ll recognize him.  Nothing stops him from killing in cold blood.  He’s an assassin.  Just a little while ago I was at the point of shooting my foster mother with a gun."  Curvas is saucer-eyed impactado.  "--So you see you’ve got to be very careful.  Nothing will stop me from hurting you.   And, I am authorizing you to do whatever will be necessary to keep me from harming anyone.”  “—Whatever it takes?”  “—Whatever it takes.”

Orlando sees and notes A MiMi leave the hotel and follows her.

At the same time, Juleta and Iñaki are having coffee out.  She tells him she couldn’t stand the clown act her father did for a so-called living.  As for her and her parents, they were dirt poor and she had no opportunity to go to college.  “—Well as you can see you didn’t need proper education to become rich.  All you had to do was sacrifice a family.”  She ignores the cut.  She tells him she had a wealthy man who once loved her before meeting and marrying her father.  He made a worldly woman of her, but he later learned she’d lied about her background and he dumped her.  Julieta admits she didn’t love Yaki’s daddy when she married him, but hoped with time she could.  Yaki sarcastically laments she ended up having two kids with a man for whom she felt nothing.

Speaking of Tadeo and Javier, they are having a discussion about Jav’s being worried about Yaki having become a gigolo.  Yep, he is earning his big bucks spending time with an older woman who he himself met at the apartment!!

Julieta ends her sad story.  She admits to Yaki that Tadeo couldn’t handle her repulsion for abject poverty.  Yaki corrects her impression of him and explains he has a degree and a job.  He’ll get what he wants by his own merits.  “—Really?  So you gave the money I gave you away to a children’s charity?”  “—You are paying for my time, madame.  I am here aiding you in killing your loneliness.  It is just another job for me.”  Ah, yes.  She forgot momentarily that is the case.

Isindro has just raced in to see Rodrigo.  He’s jumping like Mexican frijoles on a frying pan he’s so excited.  “—I’ve found her!!  I found the young girl I told you about!!  I ran into her right in this hotel!”    I got to see Ana Lucia again. “—Excuse me.  What did you say her name was?”  “—Ana Lucía.  Ana Lucía Hernandez.  And very soon, Mrs. Sanchez, because I always get what I want.”  Something sounds odd to Rod…..

Orlando watches Ana Letmeeee strut back into The Realty Place.  Ana Lora is sitting in her office waiting for her.  She asks A MiMi why in the world she felt the need to tell their abuela that Ana Lora was the cause of the accident all those years ago.

Looking forward to your recap of this earth shaker..Jardinera

BLIMEY ! What an episode. Just when a dumbstruck Tio sees the lost niece for the first time with his own eyes, and stares in disbelief, SupeRambo drags him away, while Lucy in the Sky looks on like cows at a passing car. When I saw that I thought I had dozed off and was dreaming and missing the actual show.

Urban I agree with your summary of Ms. Let. I had thought the same but with a more economic use of words, Miserable little _ _.

I could never be a TN Mother. Aside from the prickly little biological roadblock, looking at our three Numbskulls WTF is wrong with these women?

A. Soebad, um, you aint really her Mom…get over it. Go on the Match.com and make some friends if you are that criminally lonely.
B. Remi, “OK, Santa, you are not really my son, and our whole Mom/Son thing is three short years, not like twenty or thirty, so go ahead and put a bullet in my head, but give me a hug first ya big hunk.”
C. Nerina, “Tin, so you hated me all these years for trying to save my husband’s (your Father’s) life, and even though you still do, I want to try to help your crippled ass break up two happy people and marry the girl yourself you drunken sot.”

Mothers like this make a strong statement for being a dog or goat or something non-human. I don’t care if you are my pretend kid, or in a wheelchair, screw me over and I will get even, Double. And the only one who is a biological child is crippidrunk. The other two are human crutches.

Neither mothers, fathers nor their surrogates come off well in this one. Tadeo and Leonor are the best parental figures IMHO. Rodrigo and Viridiana are reasonable human beings but have not been put into parental roles. I give Remedios a pass, but agree that enough is enough.

Just when things were seeming a bit predictable we are thrown two curve-balls in Nerina's new attitude toward Ramiro and Valentin and AnaLe's "seduction" of that old fool. Can't wait to see what Jardinera makes of these and other developments.

That "seduction" about made me crazy last night. Like many of our "too much talking" lately it went on and on and on. I could have cared less and it was rather boring to watch after awhile. "Ultimate Filler" strikes again.

Trying to remember...but I don't think Neri knows her son is a drunken sot. So she's just feeling bad for him and now trying to win him the fair Llora...which in itself makes me want to swat her with "and how do they live since he's not exactly employed? " The joy of knowing your son's target is a wealthy young lass.

Can't wait for the recap Jardinera. I got a phone call right at the Tadeo scene, so waiting anxiously to see what that conversation was.

You have to give credit where credit is due. Little AnaLetmeBeHer can think on her feet. I admire anyone who is excellent at what they do, no matter what it is. AnaLet seems committed to spreading heartache and hatred everywhere, (including herself, it seems) and she sets the bar pretty high.

Old geriatric horn dog Iskidrio's euphoria may have clouded his upper thinker a bit, but she pulled it off without a hitch. She had enough self discipline to not give herself away with too many questions, and figured out his game plan quickly and played ball.

She moves around the mansion like smoke through a keyhole and sees and hears everything. She read Remi like a cheap paperback and almost got what she wanted from her. The girl is not stupid. Crazy, yes, dumb, no.

I can't wait for your recap, Jardinera. So many conversations...and I don't know Spanish. I was able to get an understanding of some of them, but I have no idea what Rem was telling AnaLu or what Santi was saying to his taxista friend.

I know your recap will be worth the wait. You do such a great job!

Virginia. I won't say too much before Jardinera's recap, but if you can believe it, the chubby taxi driver who seems to be the official driver for the rooming house is now Santiago's bodyguard. Primarily to protect him from Marcelo. I can't wait either, there were so many left turns and surprises in this episode.

Anonymous-Wow! I would never have guessed that in a million years! Thanks so much.

I knew that Ana MeMeME would impersonate Ana Lucia eventually, but to make Isidro think that Ana Lucia is a hooker? That is going to cause major problems between Ana Lucia and SoleBad when she hears about this and with Ernestina once she hears. Isidro doesn't seem to know the connexions there so he will blab more to Rodrigo.

It's a good thing that Mariano saw Ana Lucia with his own eyes. I hope Ramiro is honest with him about everything. At least Mariano would be another protector.

A Hooker?!! I guess I missed more than I thought!

Yeah, Urban, AnaLet does .. not .. miss .. ANY THING. And how flippin lucky can the girl get? She knows her sister who she wants dead's name, so when Isis...Isid.. whatever called out you could just hear those little Swiss-made clock gears meshing up there.
Virginia, it was kinda funny, but Santi and Chubby were serious. Santi is telling him he needs to protect him from Marcelo who is a cold blooded killer. And I can't remember his name, Taxi/Bodyguard, is like..."Um, Marcelo, um, the other you? Man you don't need a bodyguard, you need a shrink."

toa

I didn't see her actually tell him she was turning tricks, he had mentioned that she seemed to be doing a bit better now than when he knew her before. She told him she had a job, and was just evasive about it. Later she mentioned clients, and he assumed the worst, from what I could tell. Of course she just let him go ahead and think the worst. And of course the old fool still wants to marry her, although they didn't discuss her giving up her "job".

toa

Actually, when AnaLet mentioned clients and his mind went there and he asked, shocked, "Clients?" She responded something like, "Don Isidro, it's not what you think! It's actually a very respectable job! But enough about me. Let's talk about you!" At another point in their conversation he asked if she was still the "same" respectable young lady as when she was in the Pueblo, intimating (IMO) he hoped she was still a virgin. The look on her face as she answered in the affirmative was priceless. You go, girl! She definitely has the old nasty goat's number! LOL

Anon you are soo right. I forgot (above) about his gynecological quiz. I thought her head was going to explode when she realized what he was asking, that for the money he was offering he expected brand spanking new, no open box special !
Thanks

TOA

>>Later she mentioned clients, and he assumed the worst, from what I could tell. Of course she just let him go ahead and think the worst.
No, she most certainly did not! She said it was a 'perfectly decent job'.
He also asked her, basically, if she was still a virgin (still as innocent as she was back in San Nicolas).

I thought El Curvas telling Santi to get a shrink was hilarious. I also laughed when he asked "What does the guy looked like, I'll go beat him up right now"

I could see Soledad itching to dig a little more 411 on what Viri was told about AnaLu. Just tell her the truth already, you coward! You're being given the opportunity w/ all these red flags to redeem yourself, you selfish dummy!

Loved that Ana Laura grew enough spine (yes, many moons ago I said I'd stop calling her Llora when she grew some) to insist that it was nightmarish AnaLet w/ the nightmares that did it. After which AnaLegO'Peg also confronts AnaLetonteria about her lies. Atta girl!

Idk what Erne hopes to get outta Rod about Marge. I don't think he knows what the name of her child was, which would help lead her to find out Soledad is her half-sis.

I knew when I saw Ram at the pension that it was a writer-setup for another near miss. She's so close, but alas she remains ignorant. Glad someone from the fam (aside from AnaLetiburona) knows. Still, what's Ram going to tell TioM, "Oh hey, yeah I knew all along & gonna have to ask you to keep quiet about the dead niece you've searched for over 20 yrs b/c it inconveniences Santiago, & doesn't allow me to be the hero". I get that they want to make sure she learns the truth slowly & not shock her about who Santi's wife is (so that the reunion is a happy one). But c'mon, they're not even TRYING to give her a slow reveal, it's just outright lying and hiding the truth! I'm gonna need a Mylanta after each episode.

Nervina pissed me off when she wouldn't let Ram speak. She just assumed he's a player, when he's clearly an honorable dude who's first to the rescue for any damsel in distress (Not that Maribel is a damsel, or was in the least actually distressed w/ that fake injury). Nerina ignores Ram's established character as a longtime family friend, who is working hard at seeking a family reconciliation. She's too blinded by her golden child's halo, ignorant that it's actually a ring of fire held up by his curly devil horns. Did she forget her kids treatment of her? And did he forget that Gina met Ram 2 yrs AFTER she dumped him? Why does he insist that Ram stole both women? She knew Gina was a scam artist, so her son's not the best judgment of character (while everyone else acknowledges her shadiness, he's pretty selective on who he deems is bad). She swallowed the bull HotWheels gave her like a Flintstone vitamin & is now energizing herself to break up an engagement. Despite what she thinks about Ram, Ana Legless (sorry, still working on a new alias) made her choice & Nerpina needs to respect that. If Tin lost her, it's his own fault.

I give up, just gonna call her Bob.

Banana NUT Muffin: Peg? Woody? AnaAhab? Yes, I adore crazy people. She needs to learn to KICK with that carbon fiber leg. That would hurt !

Crippydrunk would much rather blame someone else for stealing/taking his girl away than admit that he just was not up to the job. He needs to listen to Brooks and Dunn 'He's got You' a couple times and then he would wheel himself off a cliff. Yup Nerina has turned on all us. What's up with these overly dedicated Moms and wanna be Moms? If I did half the shit these guys did, my Mom would have locked me in the trunk of the car and changed my name.

It didn't seem to phase AnaLetmeLielikearug when Peggie confronted her. When she is caught, her only concern is wriggling out of it, no remorse. Hell, the wretch even lies to herself!

Ole Mari with the hurt ankle did a pretty impressive jump as her mating prospect was leaving. A little devious, but cute as can be. Peggie may have the edge intellectually, but for undercover work, I'd go with the carnie chick.

TOA

Half of these people are missing the fact that Gina was a worthless ho who scammed every man she could. Valentin is the worst of the lot on that score.

As for what Ramiro is likely to say to Mariano tonight I think he will explain that he doesn't trust Ana MeMeME. He knows that she has been doing a number on Ana Laura's self-esteem for over 20 years. I hope Ana Laura tells him what she remembered from the accident so he can add that to the equation.

Since SantMarc has kept mostly quiet about the tumor I think he needs to "disappear" for the surgery and recovery. After the surgery they should put him on anti-seizure meds for a while during radiation and chemo.

Good grief; I hope that if the writers go there they don't make Sebastian Rulli shave his head for real.

Tbh, I wouldn't mind if they killed off Rulli's character. Put AnaLet in a psych ward or kennel, or kill her off too. Give AnaLu a shot w/ Javier or that hot guy who was standing next to Tadeo when they bitched about Orlandont's absence. I wouldn't mind Inaki for her, except she's much too pure. I mean, does she even have to be coupled. Why can't some telenovelas just have the female lead ride off into the sunset by herself at the end of it all? Give us a boda for one of the inconsequential characters, give comeuppance to one or 2 villains, let the remaining baddies get away w/ it (like in real life), and then burn down the mansion just so we can see something fun like that. Maybe kill off 2 leads while at it, one good, one bad. And leave a floating handkerchief in the wind for the surviving sibling to catch so they can vow vengeance. And then voila, Spinoff.

Pfft, I should totally write a telenovela. There would be much snark, breaking of the 4th wall, and a twist ending where the female lead realizes she's a lesbian who's in love w/ her bestie & they decide to run off together to fight crime.

Yep, gonna start a petition....

Thanks for the wonderfully snarky part 1, Jardinera.

I agree with everyone else that Nerina has a nerve, and was getting on my nerves. How she could jump onboard the crazy Valentin train, when she knows what a ho Gina was and what an idiot her own son has always been?

Now, what could Ramiro possibly say to Mariano to convince him not to blow this triplet secret right out of the water to AnaLu? It's really getting ridiculous how long they are dragging this out.

I can't believe that Rem was still taken in by AnaLet after Ram warned her she couldn't be trusted. How could Rem take AnaLet's side and hurt AnaLu like she did?

Did Santi tell Rem that AnaLu should forget him?

AnnaN-No-o-o don't kill Rulli's character! He is one of the main reasons I watch. He and AnaLu were made for each other. They are so much more compatible than he and AnaLet.

I am hoping that somehow they will end up together...

Jardinera-Your description of Isidro's tongue is priceless! Great job!

Jardinera, simply superb.

I so admire the way you capture the feeling and emotions so perfectly. Your descriptions including "She’s a pure vision of loveliness and diamond-studded sensuality", "beastly Bel" and "country bumpkin in a patch of calabazas" had me smiling away.

"Ram disagrees and reminds him he’s a private investigator. They agree to open up a PI agency, with Curvas as their driver". Ramiro solves yet another problem for his friend - unemployment. I like this unlikely Musketeer trio although I don't envy Curvas in that he is now charged with trying to subdue Marcelo when he rears his rather ugly persona.

"TinTin snidely apologizes for not attending the engagement dinner the night before. Ram answers back just as snidely, it was no problem. “—You weren’t missed.” I am so pleased Ramiro is staying toe to toe with Val and giving him as good as he gets.

So many revelations - Ana Laura confessing the truth that her sister caused the accident; Mariano seeing Ana Lucia; and Ana Let strutting her stuff and actually getting away with impersonating her sister to the inappropriate, cringe worthy Don Isidro.

So poor Javier does think Inaki is turning tricks, much to the consternation of Tadeo. I don't know why Julieta ever married him, let alone had two children with him. Javier will be crushed when he learns the truth.

Speaking of truth, now that Ana Let knows Soledad is Ana Lucia's mother and will soon find where they are living, Ana Lucia is in grave danger. What is worse is that almost everyone knows of Ana Let's existence but no one has felt fit to tell Ana Lucia (or Ana Laura). I think this was a huge misstep for Ramiro, one of the few he has made here.

This is really getting exciting.

Thank you Jardinera!

Diana

Excellent recap, Jardinera.

For me the best part was the "framing" offered by Ana Laura telling Ernestina the truth about Ana Leticia having caused the car accident and Ana Laura confronting Ana Leticia about it.

Isidro showing up and the conversation with Ana Leticia means she will be hot on Ana Lucía's trail.

Two plots that are bogging this down: Santiago/Marcelo and his brain tumor surgery and Ana Lucía still in the dark about her past.

.

Thanks Jardinera! And I agree about Rem being a dummy telling AnaLu that AnaLet is a decent person. How many ppl who've warned the opposite, let me count the ways: Nerina saying she's cold, Sole saying she mistreated her, Ram warning Rem to stay away from her & not to be fooled by her facade, and AnaLu who was insulted over the phone by her. The only person who vouches for her is a tumor-riddled amnesiac, too confused to even get his name straight, let alone be the consensus of Ana LeTreachery.

Virginia, I've gotten my fill seeing them end up together in enough productions that I don't mind that they don't end up together in this, what w/ it being their final TN hurrah (jointly).

Diana, I kind of saw her nodding her head when he mentioned Soledads name but I don't think she connected that to the seamstress, mainly b/c she has a small rolodex of ppl who's names are worth remembering (If you recall, she couldn't remember Sole's name when she went to apologize). Also, she didn't get a last name. Maybe if she goes to visit Viri and ask what town she's from.

I think its funny that I (jokingly) predicted Isidro chasing AnaLet, I'm not always right so I'm not sure whether or not I should feel pleased by this lol. Isidro has some nerve going after so young a bumpkin. I don't get what she gets out of impersonating AnaLu, she's got enough money. Maybe she'll release the Isidro hound on her once she finds out AnaLu's address. Maybe she hopes he'll kidnap her & take her far away. I have no clue, ultimately it's just filler plot.

Agree Viri, this is stretching it too far. They can get way more plot lines after a reveal. I feel like by the time it happens, the reveal will be underwhelming after being so overhyped.

I think she didn't remember SoeBad's name on purpose to drive home the point that to her a seamstress is a nobody.

I-skid-rio

Iskidrow is actually better

Great work, Jardinera. My fave:

(Let me get this straight. The woman looks like a sterling silver strumpet charging $10,000 per lay, and he’s asking if she’s still virginal???? Talk about your country bumpkin in a patch of calabazas!)

I could easily imagine Ana MeMeME leading him on and possibly killing him if he dares touch her in order to frame Ana Lucia.

I don't know that Remedios is snowed or that she's looking to protect Ana Lucia from the ugly truths that are now breathing down everyone's necks.

Now that Isidro opened the door to it I suspect that Rodrigo will be the next person to see Ana Lucia and he might be the one to blab it to Ernestina.

Anna, thank you for noting that Ana Let might not necessarily have put two and two together regarding Soledad and Ana Lu...

Ana Leticia is so vain and vapid that inconsequential folks are of no value and hence, not worthy of remembering.

I will breathe easier thinking Ana Let doesn't have Ana Lu in her clutches. Quite yet ;)

Jardinera - This is inspired. Your descriptions of the encounters between Isidro and Ana Lucia and Santiago and Curvos are priceless.
I am "saucer-eyed impactada". Many thanks for covering this action-filled episode with the verve and sense of the ridiculous that it deserves.

Thank you Jardinera! Your recaps are so enjoyable to read. Loved this part of your recap: Isindro has just raced in to see Rodrigo. He’s jumping like Mexican frijoles on a frying pan he’s so excited. “—I’ve found her!! I found the young girl I told you about!! I ran into her right in this hotel!” I got to see Ana Lucia again. “

I was getting so frustrated with Nerina just jumping to conclusions without even asking Ramiro what happened with Maribel. Even Ana Laura would have told him to help her out. He was just trying to be helpful and make sure she wasn't injured and here Nerina jumps to these stupid conclusions. She needs to go take a look at what her son turned out be. She should go see him drinking himself into a stupor. Yeah, that really attracts the classy ladies....

So who is this Don Isidro? Is this the first time we have seen him? Shame on him for wanting to get Ana Lucia as a young trophy wife. I hate it when old men go after young women, it's the just the "ick" factor and grosses me out.

Cynthia, don Isidro wanted to marry Ana Lucía back in the little town she lived in with Soledad before they came to Mexico City. So, he has been interested in her for a good while.

Thanks, Jardinera. Super title and recap. My favorites:

Don Isidro’s tongue drops down, slaps onto the floor, does a triple roll and then snaps back into his mouth.

all the news that fit to print, and even that what ain’t

I-sindro

Loved AnaLe making a fool out of the old fool. She probably hasn't crystalized just yet how she'll use him against AnaLu, but her wheels are turning.

Yay, AnaLaura stood up for herself with AnaLe.

Nerina better not tell AnaLaura that Ramiro is hitting on Maribel.

Wondering if we'll get the chance to see Curvas beat the crap out of Marcelo.

Thanks Jarifa. I had started tuning into 3 Anas about the time Soledad and Ana Lu were moving to Mexico City and the taxi cab driver took them over to Remedios' place.

The only thing that makes sense about Nerve..ina is she's just dumber than a box of rocks. That seems to be the common theme which binds the three WTF? Mothers together, they're just not smart enough to figure out ANYTHING. If Nerve lady were my Mom and nothing below the waist worked anymore, I'd be hitting some Captain Morgan too.

I hope this recap clears up some of the questions some of you still had.

Anon. Sat. 7:23 PM: "Little AnaLetmeBeHer can think on her feet. I admire anyone who is excellent at what they do, no matter what it is." I would not disagree. The other two triplets have real artistic talent as performers. A MiMi has...acting talent? A fertile imagination that if given another outlet could have led to a career in writing? Dunno. Worth pondering.

UrbanA:"don't make Sebastian Rulli shave his head" --That sort of scareds me also, but something tells me even without his golden locks that handsome square jaw of his would still be handsome....

"Half of these people are missing the fact that Gina was a worthless ho who scammed every man she could. Valentin is the worst of the lot on that score." ITSA!!!!!
-=======

Anna N: "Still, what's Ram going to tell TioM, "Oh hey, yeah I knew all along & gonna have to ask you to keep quiet about the dead niece you've searched for over 20 yrs b/c it inconveniences Santiago, & doesn't allow me to be the hero". Yeah, I've been scratching my head over this one now also. Enough is enough. You start to wonder if they are trying to protect Solebad from jail or something. I thought at first this might be part of it since she's been "a good mother" according to San-Marco.

============
ViViDC: Nerina was a real shock. I get that she's got good old fashioned morals, but to scold Ramiro over the likes of Gina--does she realize that Ramiro dumped Gina on their wedding day and why???? I don't think she knows that part of the past yet. Nerina's worst fears should be vindicated somehow. I don't know that Claw knows Gina's whole background either.

Traveling Lady and Diana: It's nice to see you both here again!
==========

Cynthia Hampton: "Nerina just jumping to conclusions without even asking Ramiro what happened with Maribel. Even Ana Laura would have told him to help her out." ITA, but the difference is that Ram would have A Lora's permission and knowledge to assist IMHO.
=============

Jarifa: "Isidro showing up and the conversation with Ana Leticia means she will be hot on Ana Lucía's trail." Who'll find her first and will Orly step in to save Ana Lucia from Ana Leticia if there's a crazy attempt at murdering her?

===========

Niecie in MD: "She probably hasn't crystalized just yet how she'll use him against AnaLu, but her wheels are turning." I couldn't agree more.....

Cynthia: If you have Hulu+ you can watch the initial episodios/capítulos. Unfortunately, Unimas carries only the latest week or two of them. There are other sites that you might watch, but if they're still up, they will not have any CC's.

And to clear up any fashion cornfusion, I believe Clawdia's red dress was designed by the same people who have come up with those 'Easy Open' packages we are seeing in the grocery stores lately.

Iskidrow/AnaEitherOne Yuck factor: Oh Well, it is a sad fact, but you drive what you can afford. Living in South Florida would cure you of that real quick.

Thank you, Jardinera. Thank you for injecting so much more sparkle into your recap than was in the episode.

Ugh. Is AnaLet going to marry Isidro in AnaLu's name? (And then spend lots and lots of time "out of town on business" or something...) That was my first thought. But I couldn't figure out where that storyline could go.

Regarding what performing skill/talent AnaLet has, well let's see - AnaLu is a dancer and AnaLaura is a pianist. Both of these require excellent timing. Based on that, AnaLet probably has the gift of comedy. She's good with makeup; she'd make a fine clown.

It's odd to see so many bad parents in this TN, especially after Hotel which was also chock-full of terrible parents. Are all the TNs full of terrible parents right now? Is it just a coincidence that I've seen two TNs in a row full of bad parents?

Regarding AnaLet remembering Soledad's name or not, what does it matter? I bet there's more than one Soledad in all of Mexico City. (Or is there? It is only six square miles, after all. LOL.)

I had to switch back to Spanish captions because they are really going crazy with everyone saying "blimey." It's become an all-purpose interjection.

Anna, you should totally write a telenovela. I don't think I want to see a spinoff of TVA, though.

Cynthia Actually, you can catch english subtitles of Tres Veces Ana on wlext.net

I volunteer as a subtitle translator over there. They have a few of the new ones, and some of the old telenovelas too, along with movies and some tv dramas (like Narcos). Here's the direct link for all the current TVA epis

It takes hours to format subtitles, so a TN epi won't be up until the following afternoon (which sucks for recappers like me, when I need to review an upload ASAP). The server has been recently updated so that you can stream from different sources, in case one of the links are broken. What I used to do is follow them on facebook so I'd know which epi's are up, but now that I'm a volunteer I find it's easier to just check the site directly.

For those of you who want to learn spanish faster, try volunteering as a subtitle contributor. Wlext needs all the help it can get :)

Jardinera, I do have Hulu. In fact, last night I went back to the beginning episode and realized that's where Isidro first appeared. I realized too, that Clawdia made her first appearance there and Tio was cheating on Jennifer.

Anna, I watch with the closed captions in Spanish, but sometimes they are not really up to par. I can read and understand most of the Spanish. But lately, hearing it so much, I've been able to understand a lot better even without the closed captions. I'm getting better at my Spanish, little by little. Thanks for Wlext.net. I'll check it out.

Julie I'd like to write a spanish telenovela about a homeless girl who's abandoned or runs away to live with kids that live at the dump. They make their own huts out of the trash, and go "treasure hunting" to sell at the flea market. They report to a jerk that they pay "rent" to, who owns the lot and pretends to be their friend/guardian, but really he manipulates and blackmails them (threatens to report them to authorities) in exchange for shelter and food. He's of course jipping them, so one day they attempt to revolt and run away to a place they read about in a storybook, where kids are free to do what they want, and adults aren't allowed. Jerkface goes looking for his "treasure" hunters. The female lead almost gets caught and hides away in the yard of a boy she meets. He realizes she's in danger, and decides to help her. His mother later finds out, and realizes she's an orphan. She reminds her of her missing daughter, and wishes to help her assimilate into their home and "normal" life. She goes through a whole "Little Mermaid" process where she keeps digging through their trash and using house utensils for unconventional purposes. She'll also go to school, and deal with conflict there amongst bullies, and mean authority figures. Later in the story, she'll run into her former Treasure Hunter family who attempt to rescue her, the Jerkface, and even learns she has a biological familia. She also meets the missing daughter who is reunited with her family, but wants to push our female lead out as a result of jealousy. At this juncture she'll have to choose between her old life, her current life, and a new life. She learns about love, trust, the real meaning of loyalty, new beginnings, and who she really is (outside of blood relations, manipulations, and societal expectations ...ooh la la, I rhymed).

It's supposed to be a comedy, with drama and slaptick interlaced. I do want to add in an adult romance between the adoptive mom and a teacher's aide, or the soccer coach that helps the female lead channel her anger through sports after seeing her kick a bookbag in fury (b/c of an earlier fight w/ a bully). I'd also like to put in a teenage romance of hers forward 3 years, who her biological family pushes her to see despite her longtime secret love for the vecindad boy who helped her. There's alot of subplot material here, so I can see this being a good story that can be drawn out into a telenovela. But first, I need to be fluent in spanish lol

Cynthia That's awesome! I try to watch my old Tn's in spanish since I already know the plot & don't have to worry about missing an important detail. But my family is a mixed bunch of fluent and non-fluent so when we gather to watch, it's easier to have the English subs up. My mom is always "Shhhh, ask me during the commercial" lol.

Anna, that's way too cool for a TN. :-)

Oops, when we gather to watch *new episodes*

De verdad? I hope so. There's not too many kid-related TN's. This will have something for kids, teenagers, and adults. I remember watching Luz Clarita back in the day, and it was centered around a child, but had adult relationship plotlines too. It was a spanish version of "Annie". Mine would have more of an Oliver Twist/Holes/Peter Pan feel to it.

Anna, my family is a mixed bag of fluent and non fluent Spanish speakers too. The baby boomer generation of my family never learned to speak Spanish (myself included). So our kids never learned it either. My daughter learned some on her own because she went to Chile to study for 6 months. It's mostly my parents generation (who are all very elderly now) who actually knew the Spanish. My brother married a gal from Mexico and his Spanish was already very good from making a lot of trips there for business. My sister and I are in the same boat, we understand but we can't speak because the words don't come to us fast enough. I got started with the TN because of my aunt and uncle. I would go visit them and there they were hooked on to a TN. I used to not understand how they got so hooked. But one night I was visiting them (they live out of town from me) and they were watching Pasion y Poder. It was already well into it so I never caught on. But one night after P & P, Hotel de los Secretos came on and then that really got me interested. So I'm kind of new to the TN world, but I sure am enjoying it. There is a gal here at my workplace who was into Sueno de Amor, but then they put it on at 3:00 p.m. our time and it was so inconvenient because she doesn't leave work till 4:00. On my Univision East, it came on at 12:00, so I'd go home for lunch (I live very close to work) and watch it and then come back and tell her what happened. So it's been fun and I'm enjoying this world of Telanovela land. :)

I've been on and off since the 80s and 90s, I remember watching all of Thalia's TNs growing up, but actually got hooked with Esmeralda. I moved overseas during my teens, so we watched telenovelas dubbed in Arabic (so annoying, but I learned some Arabic as a result). I left my family in my 20s, but when we reconciled I got back into it. I consider myself new to it too, only b/c this is the first time I committed to watching every episode. And my family is now making it a fam get-together to watch TNs (plus spanish drama like Narcos). We also watch The Voice with spanish subtitles together. I get to hear the english, but read it in spanish :)

Thanks Jardinera! The reasons for keeping Ana Lucia separated from her family just don't hold water. I hope Mariano is a strong voice for reason and doesn't become another member of the secret tribe. I just don't understand why we are wasting time with Isidro so I guess AnaLet will use him to good affect shortly. Disgusting old man.

Carvivile: AnaLet loves the chaos & the drama along with it!

Carvivlie- The reasons for all these people keeping the secret have been thin for a very long time. The writers have already stretched credibility to breaking point. If Mariano is convinced to keep the secret my beanie will explode.

Ramiro does want to be the hero, but he could have done that a long time ago by revealing the truth to Ana Laura. So really, he's been keeping this secret just because Santiago asked him to. And Santi is doing it partly because he doesn't want Soledad to go to jail, and mostly because he doesn't want AnaLu to hate him when she finds out he's her sister's husband.

The fact that everyone is working so hard to keep Soledad out of jail is ridiculous. They've put her selfishness and crime ahead of AnaLu's rights to know her origins and her family. And they are basically saying that AnaLu should NEVER know the truth. And if they think she should know the truth, I don't know what they're waiting for. Soledad has made it abundantly clear that she is NEVER going to tell AnaLu the truth from her own mouth.

Vivi, I'm already conditioning myself to accept that Soledad is going to get out of all of this relatively soft and the longer the writers wait to unite the family means the softer it will be for everyone that kept the secret, because their won't be enough episodes left for her to go off on them.

Was the version with Lucero the original or was that a remake, too?

I ask because there was a time when adoptees weren't told the truth about their origins. There are also numerous other stories in which people get to adulthood without knowing and I want to understand the reasons for that if there is no stigma about this.

Urban- But this wasn't adoption. It was kidnapping, and illegal. Yes, I think Lazos de Amor was the original version.
