Tres Veces Ana #108 - Scorned Men and A Lamb in The Lion's Den

Color Guide:
Recall in Red
Reader Reactions in Blue
Rhetoric (español) in Green

A criminal being punished in prison?
What's the world coming to?

AnaLu and Chana wait for their taxi, when Chana starts sobbing about something she saw in a coffee cup (Girl, quit your crying. Just tell Starbucks you want your money back). She explains that he's gone (Ohhh, Evil-roasto), someone she loved for a long time in secret. (Ni modo! Who was with me when we mused that she could be?). They arrive at the prison to find Solebad, only to discover she's being sanctioned and can't have visitors. (fue sancionada y tiene prohibida las visitas)  AnaLu hugs Chana. The receptionist appears to be enjoying herself.

Talent Exhibit A: Possibly in the next Batman Film as....
(wait for it)....El Joker!

Ernestina tells Leonor that she plans to leave her the share that's rightfully hers. AnaLet is having a conniption. Leo tells Erne she needs to qualify to be the next saint, but Erne covers her ears in an attempt to recover years of missed childhood “I can't hear you, fa-la-la-la” opportunities. She reveals that she already plans to have it all changed, also following Mariano's suit in giving AnaLu 50%. Except Erne is going to bestow a bigger share, for no other reason except to go big or go funeral home. AnaLet runs to her room to have a meltdown. Leo reminds her about her date, but upon seeing her dead battery, Erne decides to let him know tomorrow. (After all, a 5-min charge is far more inconvenient than waiting in a restaurant for an hour). Rodrigo is seen carrying in what appears to be the entire florist's cart, he orders (un martini extra seco y con dos aceitunas) an extra dry Martini with 2 olives (one for the drink and the other to stab in his eye when his date doesn't show).

What it's like being at the Inaki table

He has a flashback visiting Marcelo in a coma.
Remedios enters asking if he's a relative. He lies and says he's an MD (Missing Degree...well, he ain't lying). Remedios, skeptical, gives him another degree –the 3rd kind. He explains why he's not wearing a white coat (una bata), and attempts to give a diagnosis. Rod heard her hubster was in the same accident and died. She buried him and is there to fulfill a promise she made. So she resolves to never move from there until Marcelo wakes up. Rod asks how she'll go to the bathroom (pfft, nah I wish). Anyway, who needs a bladder when you've got a heart so big?

Rod comes to, not having moved from his own seat either, and checks his mickey mouse watch which says it's “You done got stood up” o'clock. He checks his phone, no messages. He resolves to wait some more. (Mmn, mmn, mmn. Should've went to Applebee's, vato, you get a free dessert).

Fashion Rule #37: You should never see the backside
of a dress from it's frontside.
NEVERRRR

AnaLet sees Leo in a rush to head out. Leo jumps (not sure if it's because of AnaLet's voice, or of whatever is dangerously peeking out of her severely plucked forget-me-not dress). AnaLet accuses her of acting secretive, and Leo tells her not to exaggerate (Well, um if she could exaggerate one thing, like fabric maybe?). Leo stops at the restaurant to find a very gloomy Rod dumping the flower bush. She does a 180° and leaves. Rod goes home to find Marcelo sitting in the dark (mentally and physically, how poetic). They need to talk.

The Dark Marc, in the dark, makes his mark

Knight Rider zooms unto our screen. Nope, it’s just Inaki with his new yakmobile. He revs her engine for good measure, before walking out to hug and kiss his new baby. (C'mon admit it, for an asesino, this man has such adorable charm). Inaki is so happy to have the coche he's always wanted and for Ghoulieta’s sentimental touch (semejante detallito) that he calls her “mamá”. She’s so overjoyed, she asks for a kiss and hug. It's not as emotional as the one he gave to his new princess, but he smooches Ghouls hand & saunters off eyes averted. Ghouls giggles & walks into her home.

Ana Let's got some competition

Happy moment dies in 3...2....1. Sandro is sipping from the foundation of youth. He introduces this taller-than-him glass of water as the new wife and dueña of the house. He's been having an affair with Denise for years, and has known about Ghoul's past. He sees that you can't turn mud into gold (el barro no podía convertirse en oro). Underneath, she's a soul-less tramp with no scruples (cualquiera sin alma y sin escrúpulos), who he'd only stayed with because of their son. He holds onto her credit cards, explaining he plans to (cuentas bancarias estarán cerradas) close her accounts (Ha! Urban, we just talked about this!), and tells her to leave the way she came –with nothing but the clothes on her back.

That's the look of a woman who swishes with bleach

AnaLet is checking on the sharpness of a butcher knife (Viewerville prays it drops on a boob, give her a lopsided anvil dammit!). Saved by the bell. Trick-or-treat, it's AnaBoo and Chana, dressed as gypsies. AnaLet, dressed as a half-peeled banana, surprisingly lets them in. (There's the treat.) They're here to see the abue. They small talk about Chana's abilities and reveal AnaLu read the “Property of Ana Leticia” etched into Santi's palm when they met. Chana offers to read AnaLet's palm, and then pees on herself a little. (Yep, Let has that effect). Chana is desperate to leave. Turns out Erne is sleeping anyway, and AnaLet doesn't want to overexcite her weak heart (su corazón débil). They agree it's best to wait until she gets better. (And there's the trick.) Sayonara, misma cara!

Knife to meet you

AnaLet checks on a non-sleeping abue. She never wants her to die, ever. But abue plans on watching over her from heaven with her parents (I don't think heaven wants that channel in the happy place). For now, she plans to stay alive for AnaLu. She tries to pry info about her, but AnaLet feigns not wishing to upset her. (Says the girl walking around as a banana slit with whipped foam at the mouth). She eventually fesses up that she's getting a divorce, and it's because her hubster is con otra. The other woman is her propia hermana, Ana Lucia! Cue heart spasmic shock. Abue asks for the pills. Our little drug pusher is not so keen this time to drug anyone up. Instead she feigns nervousness, and flings the pills under the bed (while Viewerville flings as many spanish curses they know at the screen). She smiles as her grandma pleads for help. (Maldita! Pendeja! Mierdita! Chewbaccaaa!!!). Leo arrives to the rescue, and AnaLet “finds” the pills (pastillas) while blaming Leo for being so careless (tan descuidada).

Is it the one that says "Cyanide"?

Edmundo chastizes Facundo for killing Ev in his house. Fac-man tries to calm him down, his people cleaned up. Eddy doesn't plan on waiting for Marcy to open the safe box (caja de seguridad), he's leaving Mexico (Funny, people usually run TO mexico in these situations). Fecal-man needs him here, he'll handle Marcy the good way or the bad way (Viewerville is betting it'll be the bad way).

When you let your abue book you a romantic getaway,
and you end up in a dungeon

Ana Laura and Ramiro can't get a flight out (no encontran ningún vuelo), but Ram promises they'll take the earliest one next day. Tio calls her to tell her that abue is better, and not to worry. Ram runs to get her a jacket, while she gets a call from Tin. He informs her that Edmundo got Valeria arrested (detuvo), and lies that Ram knew about it all along. Llora (yes, this alias is officially restored) believes the jerk, and confronts Ram about it. He promises he didn't know, and he'll prove Ria's innocence as soon as they return. He also unconvincingly swears his dad will get an earful. (Viewerville suppresses a yawn).

The result of watching too much drunken monkey kung fu

Javier is waiting on Maribel, who decides to stand him up. He's not Javi-ing a nice day (pun-kin pie, anyone?). All of a sudden, we smell gasoline. Oily walks in (Viewerville wishes to drop a lighted match upon thee, anointed one). He insults Javi's aerial skills, Javi calls him a coward. Oily claims it was an accident, Javi asks if Bel's shiner was an accident too. Oily doesn't think she's worthwhile (Well, he's got a point there). But Javi disagrees and decks him. (Meh, I always get the fight scenes. Alright folks, strap yourselves in. We're in for a slippery ride).

When there's only one iPad left on Black Friday

Oily kicks him off like a tumbleweed. (We can almost hear the Mortal Kombat soundtrack begin and we get excited). They slap fight. (Wa-wa. Well, what'd you expect?). Javi, then, for no apparent reason, decides to expend his energy doing a back-flip. He flops and Oily spins off the floor to flap some dust off the silks (Viewerville shrugs, maybe he's trying to fly). Javi misses a few sissy jabs, and Oily peter-pans up to a window sill only to flip down as Javi roundhouse kicks completely out of range. (Who in el infierno choreographed this?). Oily and Javi, (jadeando sin aliento) breathlessly panting away, square each other. (Viewerville is furiously pressing the buttons on their MEXbox controller. Get him, Jav!).

Ana Let isn't the only one who "bonds" over scarves

Nope, Javi misses again and gets noosed with a silk hammock by a guy who needs a banana hammock. Oily is pushed off but does a kick flip in the air, and the g-force of that knocks a very distant Javi to the ground. Oily takes advantage to give him a 1-2 punch. (Half of Viewerville is taking advantage of a potty break). We find 2 very huffy grannies all tuckered out from their tumbling session. After a few back & forth insults, Javi says he'll end up everyone’s prison bish (la guera de todos en la cárcel). Oily doesn't disagree (uh, que pasta?) but he won't be the only one. Inaki killed Isidro Sánchez, and he's got the proof. He texts it to him with the amount (la cantidad) of money he expects for his silencio.

Inaki uses his "head"

Ghoulieta comes-a-knocking to Inaki’s place. She sobs about Sandro's affair and his kicking her out. Inaki tells his mama to fight. But when he sees she's not going to, that she hopes to rely on him, he kicks her out. She begs him not to abandon her (oh, how the tables have turned). Later, Inaki is weeping on the floor against the door. Javi is still able to knock, somehow (well, I guess fists don't hurt if they miss). Javi confronts him about Isidro, but Inaki wants to know who beat him upJavi demands an answer!

A rich man doing a poor job

Viri, at Mariano's, is upset she couldn't see Soledad. Mariano just wants to focus on them tonight, but Viri expects the usual interruption from his niece. Viri tells him what we'd been hoping he'd hear, that AnaLet's jealousy isn't normal. It's not one of a niece, but of a woman. Being that she's a woman herself, she notices (cuenta de sutilezas que se pasa por alto) subtle things he often ignores (Su-su-subtle? Exsqueezes, hay nada “subtle” sobre AnaLet!). Mariano is in utter denial, and wishes to wipe off the icky he feels by getting his sticky feels into Viri. They go upstairs, so he can give her a little sex education. Apparently, Viri's going to need “No Mild Left Behind”. She lies underneath him picturing softball and Clawdia, before finally dressing back up and informing an elated Mariano about his poor performance (actuación). She gave him the time of his vida, but it's the first and last. She walks off like a patróna. Burned and branded, he sips brandy and swears he'll never forgive her. (Viewerville rolls their eyes so far back, they can see the part of their brain that just died).

Yea, that's just about the coolest door ever.
My right arm would be bigger than my left, though.

~Go Bananas

Patio Peeps, proceed to vent, debate, or grumble, as I gather a recap out of this bumble of jumble. Out of an unkempt mind, tumultuous words stumble. So let your voices be heard, CARAY! Don't mumble. Argue your points, but please stay humble. Otherwise, folks, let's get ready to rumble,

Comments:
Looking forward to it, Anna!

Well, I have never seen a tn character get revenge and dump someone in quite the manner Viri did last night. But, damn! She got Mariano where it hurts most!

Julieta also got the shaft in the most painful way for her. Not saying she isn't getting what karma has been cooking up for her for a long time, but Sandro is no saint either. His affair in Brazil and his ignoring his wife's pleas to come to their dying son's bedside, happened BEFORE he found out about her past. So I hope his new younger wife takes him for all he has, and dumps him too eventually.

I will wait for the recap to discuss Ana Leticia's murderous intent towards her Abuela. But if she wants it all, she's got a long line of people to bump off.

Fabulous rhymes to get us started, Anna! You are a wiz with words. I look forward to the rumble.

There are so many plot lines and factoids in play right now that my head is spinning. A few quick observations. Valentin is scum. AnaLe does have talent. She could have been an actress -- what a natural liar and schemer.

Viridiana carried out a revenge fantasy with gusto, hurting Mariano's fragile ego apparently and feeling sad and empty herself. The only light moment there had to do with the dress and the funny comments made here about it over the weekend.

We are going to have a wild ride to the end. I am just glad that handsome Javier survived, but must now deal with a lot of disappointment.

Anna, your title made me smile. Looking forward to your recap of "this bumble of jumble."

Tsk-tsk, AnaLe and Iñaki both being cruel to their female parental units. They clearly don't know the TN rule about what happens when you diss your mother/grandmother.

So again AnaLaura seems to take the word of TinTin over the love of her life.

I kept yelling at the screen "Viri, don't do it!" but she didn't listen. Now I'm convinced she and Mariano will wind up together married with kids. Can't deny I got a kick out of her rocking his world and then dumping him. The playboy got played.

TL/Mati- The was THE most annoying moment for me last night, when Ana Laura accused Ramiro, off of just Valentin's word, of lying to her about the week-long reprieve on sending Valeria to the pokey. Ramiro should have been ticked off at her for that. This doesn't bode well for when she finds out that he had been keeping the Ana Lucia secret from her...

Viví - Agreed. I guess it is a reflection of her lack of self confidence but she is quick to move to doubting him. So many signs of trouble between them before they finally get settled. Nerina may assist with the Maribel card to further undermine their relationship.

Niecie - love the cardinal rule on mother love and bashing in novelas. So true!

My My a Banana treat this early. Our lucky day.

Evil little beyotch. Roll Granny’s lifesaving pills under the bed huh? I almost didn’t care, Granny is just so unbelievably stupid. Sweet, but stupid. She knows nothing, she doesn’t even suspect anything, and has had eighteen or twenty years to get a clue. Try again Let. Thanks Leonor . BTW, was the yellow dress a much more muted yellow rather than sunflower yellow days before? I wondered if she had worn it so long that it simply faded.

Hi Mom, did you bring little Inak another toy or some fresh formula for his bottle? Noooo. OK get your ass out, NOW. Waaaaa. ! Is there any possible way maybe these two could just kill each other? If the car is paid for I’d bet she wishes she had it back now. Leave the car to Javier and then do a suicide pact you two. Bye Bye

Little Javier deserves that Ferrari. He may not have “won” the Oilmatch, but he at least beat the truth out of Pennzoil. If Pennz has little enough sense to text him those pictures, great for Jav,…… for Pennz, not so great. It is hard to do smart things when you are dumber than a box of rocks.

Ramiro, son, when you have secrets, you are vulnerable, regardless of how noble your motives are. I wish you could get this. Bet LLaura does too. TinTin,…not so much.

Looking forward to your recap Anna. I sure was entertained with Viri's attitude with Mariano after their being intimate. She called it "sex", he called "lovemaking". She pretty much said it was a mistake and wasn't all that great for her. I was laughing so hard because I'll bet Mo never had a woman do that to him ever. I'm sure that every woman he has ever been with just fawned all over him to the point of being grateful, and he's not used to that!

As for Ana MeMe, she wanted to throw Abue into a heart attack. And then to hide her nitro...oh that is so evil! She put on her poor, poor, pitiful me act and made Ana Lu the villain in the story to Abue. She cares NOTHING for Abue and all her focus is money, money, money.

So as far as Ghoulieta and Sandro, I take it they don't have community property rights in Mexico? He was pretty cruel. He didn't even let her pack a suitcase with her things.

I never did hear back from Ria. Am I still needed to do the recap for tonight's episode? I'll get one ready for tonight, and I'm glad to do it and help out.

Oh that was fabulous Baby.

REALLY? For me, not so much. Bye

Homer Simpson...Doh !

Viri you rock.

Cynthia- Ria is still traveling in New Mexico, so I'm pretty sure she still needs an assist tonight.

Vivi, I'm very glad to help out. Will get it ready for tonight. Is someone going to put up a comment section (like you did last time with Hotel) so I can past my recap up?

Cynthia- Ria already has the discussion page scheduled to post automatically tonight at 10:04 pm.

Anna Banana, You witty little honey, your entertaining recaps are always so-o-o-o funny...and not only amusing, but right-on-the-money. Looking forward to your recap!

(My attempt at humor)

Recap is up, and yea I saw the two scheduled posts too, Vivi. Our Ria is always very efficient :)

Going to reply comments, then get the screenshots up!

I would agree with the mother-bashing rule most of the time, but Ghoulieta deserves it in spades. She abandoned Inaki and Javier for a life of luxury and Sandro is pulling the rug out from under her. He wouldn't be able to do that in the US; he would have to pay her something due to the length of the marriage.

Inaki's Karmageddon will be about Daniel's murder and (maybe) Isidro's. And anything else he hasn't done yet.

Ana MeMeME should have tried to become an actress. She would have gotten all the adulation she ever wanted. However, she's too lazy for that. Not to mention that being an actress has to be difficult if one has identical siblings.

Fabulous title Anna. I am really looking forward to hearing what you have to say!

I'm at a disadvantage as I understood almost none of the dialogue. Fortunately (or unfortunately) many of the actions were transparently clear.

To be honest, I was shocked at what occurred with Viri and Mariano. As a strong woman, I expected her to be hurt, tell him off in no uncertain terms and then and move on. Her revenge certainly hurt Mariano, but I dare say it wounded her far more. She debased herself to a level she should never have descended to. I thought she was above him, but this sadly signals they may indeed be a match. She inflicted far greater pain on herself than on him.

"I kept yelling at the screen "Viri, don't do it!" but she didn't listen". No, sadly she didn't Niecie.

I gravely underestimated Tin's cunning and his absurdly impeccable timing of always being able to reach Ana Laura when Ramiro is missing from the scene.

I hope Lenor keeps her sister under close watch. I could be wrong but I got the distinct impression Ana Let was enjoying toying with her grandmother and had no intention of giving her that pill until Lenor arrived.

Did Julieta's husband toss her out without a penny? I felt a scintilla of sympathy for her but felt worse for Inaki after he shoved her out the door and then collapsed in front of it.

Diana

Anna - You may have outdone yourself with this one. I had to wipe the tears of laughter as I read.

I don't know whether I enjoyed the paragraph about AnaLu and Chana ("dressed as gypsies") visiting the mansion or the one about the crazy fight between Oily and Javier (complete with those two great puns) more.

You also managed to capture the state of the eyes of viewerville as Viridiana left. Rolled back pretty darn far.

Thanks for some good giggles to keep the day moving. Great work on a complicated (and when are they not these days???) episode.

Thanks, Anna! "Rod asks how she'll go to the bathroom (pfft, nah I wish)." Yeah, tell me about it. The best questions always go unasked!

One thing I'll say for Marcelo - he has a real flair for drama, sitting there in Rod's place waiting for him to come home!

I just noticed the door on Tio's house for the first time last night. That is quite a distinctive-looking door. I'll recognize it if it shows up in another TN.

So, Remedios in love with Ev. Not a big surprise. I thought, when she was sorta taking care of him briefly, that she was showing more than just a casual interest in him.

I wasn't impressed by the fight between Oily and Javi, which was a weird grab-bag of silly moves.

"Cracker" showed up in the English captions again last night, as the translation for "muerto de hambre" which I would have translated as simply "loser." "Cracker" is not an appropriate translation for "muerto de hambre." (Actually, I don't think it's an appropriate translation for anything that's likely to be discussed in a telenovela!)

I have to hand it to AnaLet for thinking on her feet. First she tries to kill her grandmother with a heart attack that very night, to make sure she doesn't have a chance to rewrite her will. Then, when Leonor shows up, she changes tactics to make a hero of herself, I guess for fear that otherwise she might be accused of deliberately throwing the pills under the bed (which she did). And then the crowning touch, blaming Leonor for the unexpected pills relocation (as if Leonor would ever misplace anything).

Best of all, now she has a dramatic story to tell people as they listen in rapt attention.

AnaLet really missed her calling. She should have been an international spy. Alas, spies don't get to be the center of attention.

Vivi I thought it was a pretty nice twist. She used him in the way that she felt he'd been using her. By not exposing her pain, she attempted to leave the relationship with dignity. Sadly, she mistook "having the upperhand" for la dignidad. So while she may have gotten him back for something he's completely clueless about, she hurt herself in the end.

Mati You're right, she's very good at manipulating & acting. She's pulled the wool over many an eye for so many years, it's perfect! And glad you liked the recap, amiga :D

Niecie I swear sometimes you're the voice of Viewerville, b/c you always hit the exact sentiment we're all feeling. I was screaming too. I thought she just let him slide, but then I saw she played him. This is why so many relationships fail, no communication. He could've explained himself, but tbh what's there to explain. He kissed back, and though he could apologize for not reacting properly, I think we cn agree that an old dog's habits die hard. (wait, did I just combine 2 idioms? lol)

TOA I kinda was hoping she'd look for Tadeo & Javi, too. Maybe the coche is still in her name & she could sell it for some cash. Doubt it, though. I think she'll pretend to Tadeo that SHE was the one who gave up on everything, to prove that she's worthy of her sons.

Cynthia I like that part too! She made him feel cheap by calling it sex.She couldn't have done much worse by leaving money on the table. You could see his ego disassemble into a broken jigsaw.

This comment has been removed by the author.

Julie. Hmmm? I thought I watched and read closely and I didn't see cracker last night. I suppose we have different CCs for different regions of the US. Reading your comment above, you meant Chana, right? Carrying a torch for Evaristo? Not being silly and correcting someone for fun, but hope I didn't miss something.

Yup I couldn't get over that door, which I estimate to be at least 8 feet wide. A normal door is 6"8", and that one looked a bit taller, and wider than it was tall. I got sidetracked wondering how much it weighed if it was a solid core door and how hard it would be to move it quickly without some power assist. I believe I was off in nerd land while Viri was "congratulating" herself.

toa

Anon11:26 I loved that she did that. Tio: That was spectacular. Viri: Meh, I've had better.

Virginia OMGodzilla, you and me need to form a girly rap group AHORA. We'll call it Dos Gatas Papanatas (2 Simple Cats). We're gonna make so much monopoly money!

Urban I agree she deserves it, but I feel like she's been trying to redeem herself. She may be just trying to fill an empty hole, and clearly she's selfish. But like mother, like son. They deserve each other. Maybe Viri will help her out. Get her a job in the shop, or maybe she goes to find Tadeo.

Diana It's ok, I was very detailed on most of the important convo. Like each of Sandro & Orly's verbal lashings, and Viri's opinions on ALet. And yes, it annoyed me to my core that she LETS him call her pet names & falls for his lies. That's why Llora is her name again.

Julie You have an eye for detail! I noticed the door too! And the cracker caption for muerte de hambre! I never thought it meant "loser" until I heard it in Teresa. I'm sure you meant Chana for Rem, but yes it was you & I who discussed her possible infatuation. You're right about her thinking on her feet. She's usually not that smart. She'll probably use her recent attack as an excuse for delaying the redrawing of the will.

Oops We were writing at the same time Ms. Banananana about Chana/Remi and the door.

Thanks Anna for the great recap! Now that AnaLet has given her version of "the other woman" being AnaLuc, I am thinking Tio is the one to come to the rescue and explain the real story to Abue. Hope this happens soon.

As for AnaLaura, I can't believe she would not believe Ram. She knows that his father did everything he could to keep them apart. She should see that this was just another attempt to break them up.

...Valentine, what a sleeze! Does he really want AnaLaura, or does he have sinister plans for her?

TOA Yea, I deleted it though. It had a few misspellings. Reposted, and still see grammar errors. Ah well.

Virginia Yes, she SHOULD know better, but I feel like she gets manipulated by ALL the wrong people. I think he does love her, but not in a "true Love" way. More like an obsessive love.

Anna, Just thought of another question about when Chana took AnaLu to meet Abue. In your recap you said Chana asked AnaLet if she wanted her palm read. Then, Chana was anxious to leave. Did she read AnaLet palm? (If she did I missed that.) If so, did she see something that made her think she and AnaLu should leave?

Thank you, Anna! What a fun recap!

Wow! Ana Leticia did not miss a beat trying to kill granny Ernestina before she could change her will. Supposedly she will be more 'generous" than Mariano she told him in the last episode. In all fairness, I do not know why Ana Lucía would be entitled to more than 30% of Mariano's or Ernestina's fortune. In a "normal" family that alone could cause hard feelings let alone in this one with a loose screw rattling around. Not a smart move on Mariano or Ernestina's part trying to make up for lost time with Ana Lucía in all of their euforia via shortchanging the other two sisters. .

"Burned and branded" was a perfect description of Mariano. Good for a Viridiana bringing up her observations of Ana Leticia and her "womanly" jealousy. I loved how she left Mariano the way she did. He will always be wondering about his performance. What a perfect parting gift!

Thanks, Anna. Hilarious recap of this action-packed episode. Your play by play of the Javier-Oily bout would make any sports announcer jealous. Some of my faves:

Happy moment dies in 3...2....1. Sandro is sipping from the foundation of youth.

Sayonara, misma cara!

But abue plans on watching over her [AnaLe] from heaven with her parents (I don't think heaven wants that channel in the happy place).

Oily is nuts to be waltzing into the dance studio when he's wanted by the police for shooting Remedios. But I'm glad he told Javier what Iñaki is up to.

If AnaLaura dumps Ramiro again, I hope he lets her go. For once AnaLaura needs to be the one to fight for their love.

Anna- Thanks for the afternoon giggles! :) That fight scene was funny last night, and hilarious today, reading your take on it.

I wish Viri had told Mariano what she witnessed with her own eyes, but like you said Anna, how's he going to explain himself? This wasn't some forced kissed that caught him off-guard and resulted in galanbesoparalysis (a real telenovela disease). He was a full and passionate participant in that long kiss. As someone else said the other week-- if he can't even resist a kiss from a woman he's halfheartedly attracted to, what's he going to do when he comes upon a woman who really floats his boat? What about seven years down the road, when he and Viri might have a kid and the normal stresses of marriage, and aren't hot and heavy for each other like in the early days of courtship? How can she trust him to keep it in his pants? The man is weak.

Yes, I meant Chana carring a torch for Evaristo. Argh, I said Remedios, LOL. Way too many people in this TN.

TOA - I'm pretty sure we all get the same captions - we've got a long history of comparing captions on Caray. (I don't know exactly where Pablo Villalobos lives, but I'm pretty sure it's the opposite corner of the country from me. We both laughed at seeing "pierce" instead of "purse" repeatedly during PEAM. No way was that a regional thing!) I don't remember who said "cracker" last night, because I was too busy going "cracker again? OMG, why" and rewinding it to hear again.

Virginia, I think Chana only got a glance at AnaLet's palm before AnaLet pulled her hand away, but whatever Chana saw really upset her.

Jarifa, I totally agree about giving AnaLu a bigger share of the inheritance - it's not necessary, it won't make AnaLu feel better, and it's not fair to her sisters.

Virginia, yes she started to read AnaLet's palm and suddenly looked like her lunch was not agreeing with her. It apparently just took a quick glance to see the pitchfork. toa

Virginia and about the time Chana had 'that' look on her face, AnaLet saw it too, from what I could tell, and quickly withdrew her hand. She then said "Oh I don't believe in that stuff anyway".toa

Julie I probably missed it. It appears we have at least two distinct CCers on TVA. The Blimey and the Cracker. Looks like the C one and the F one may not be with Univ any more, go figure.

Outstanding Anna - outstanding.

"Except Erne is going to bestow a bigger share, for no other reason except to go big or go funeral home", "...whatever is dangerously peeking out of her severely plucked forget-me-not dress" and "Happy moment dies in 3...2....1" were among many favorites.

I'm still reeling from everything that occurred and said much of what I needed to in my earlier post.

I did not realize Mariano's reaction was "Burned and branded, he sips brandy and swears he'll never forgive her". Hmmm. Really? Granted he now has a bitter after taste in his mouth. It's just now he is the recipient of being torched, not the giver. Viri is so much better off without him. As so many of you have pointed out, he is not capable of fidelity. His interests and taste are diverse and varied.

Not sure why my heart keeps going out to Inaki, but he has my sympathy and I must be honest, I am hoping for some kind of miracle here. I do believe Julieta sowed the seeds of unhappiness in him by her abandonment, and his relentless drive for success and power watered and nurtured them. His murderious acts were unforgiveable. But, can the man himself be forgiven? I say "forgiven" as he passed the road to redemption long ago.

Oh Vivi," galanbesoparalysis (a real telenovela disease)" was perfect.

Anna, thank you for your carefully chosen (and extremely funny) words and phrases. You have added so much to Caray. Again, stellar recap.

Diana

I never believed that thing about women thinking with their feet (shoe stores). Ana Llaur made me a believer.

Whew! What an episode and what a recap! So many wonderful lines but I thought "sipping from the fountain of youth" was pure genius. As I get older, I really understand the yearning of men to be with someone young and beautiful in order to just treasure the illusion a bit longer that they are young and virile as well. But I was horrified at how he treated Julieta. A little late to be all "holier than thou" and I can't believe divorce laws in Mexico would be so unfair, but I certainly don't have direct knowledge of them. Not a fan of Julieta in any way, but kicking her out without even her own clothes and shampoo...nah, not to my taste.

The other line that just knocked me out was [Ana Leticia] "dressed as a half-peeled banana". Awesome.

Lots of random cruelty last night in addition to Julieta. Unbelievable that Ernestina wouldn't take the time to let her galan know she was not going to show up.
Unbelievable that Ana Laura would so quickly doubt Ramiro again. And unbelievable that Vridiana, who has been feisty and principled, would choose such a cheap way to avenge herself on Mariano...rather than just duking it out with him verbally about the Claudia kiss she witnessed.

Calculated emotional cruelty really upsets me. As do the slaps handed out so liberally in these stories. I know I'm coming across like a wah-wah softie...(probably because that's what I actually am) but surely there's a way to up the drama factor without this.

Okay. Rant over. Yes, AnaBanana, I too thought Remedio's promise to never leave Marcelo's side 'till he came out of his coma ignored certain basic human needs like food, drink, bathrooms and rest. But oh well...she's a noble character. She can do anything!

Ditto on your reaction to those silly back flips etc. on the over choreographed fight scene. Ridiculous. But still...fun to watch.

And great fun to read your recap!

I think it might all be the same CCer, who is trying to make things interesting by using colorful language without really knowing the connotations of some of these words.

After a couple of C and F incidents they were probably read the riot act, so maybe we won't see those again.

Actually I really admire the work by this/these captioner(s). It's hard enough to get all the dialog when it's in your own language. This/these person(s) are getting all of it and translating it too. It's much better than it was a few years ago, when the translations were not nearly as complete (or reliable).

So, while it's fun to observe and sometimes critique the translations, I will say that it's a hell of a lot better than what I could do myself. It's also very helpful when I can't parse the Spanish, and it makes telenovelas available to people who are starting to learn Spanish. I can't help poking fun, but I am in no position to criticize.

What a day! What a recap!! I feel so behind with all the great comments. I'm working at home today and the crazy started at 6:30 am, took an hour to take my son to lunch who's last day in town is today before he heads back south, and no taking a few here. Deep breathe and laughing my head off. Anna, you are brilliant taking the most dramatic bits and giving them the snickers they deserve.

WTH was that with Llora last night?? I swear, she's still trying to sabotage herself with Ram and find something, anything, to blame him on so it becomes his fault why they won't work. Then she thinks she can go off into the "he gets me" sunset with Tin. Ready to tell Ram to give her up.

Facundo has "men". Interesting. I picture this little team of sneaky people barrelling out of van, take body, clean up and scurry away again. Wonder if they do home cleaning between murders? I could use a good fall once over.

Ah, AnaLoon is never so happy as when she's ready to off someone. Since it didn't work with Abue, wonder if she next tries going after Leo. Why do I feel like one more innocent is going to pay before this is over?

I like Javier, but could have done without all the screen time with Oily. Not one tear for the Ghoul. Wonder if she goes crying next to Tadeo?

And the cherry on top--Viri's brilliant put down of Mariano. The player was played! Knew she was up to something. He tries to get back at her, well, I'll reserve what I would like see happen to him until future scenes play out.

Gracias, Anna. Great work.

Ana Laura has come too far to slip back now. She also hasn't seen Ratmundo at his worst.

I'm wondering if Valentin is in on any of the financial fraud. Whether he is or not he is toast because of his immobility. If he is truly immobile.

Ana MeMEME's attempt on Ernestina's life is another nail in her own coffin. When Leonor thinks about this she will smell some pretty rotten fish. And nobody can deny that Chana got a monster of a creep vibe around her.

Viridiana's choice of revenge may or may not have been right, but it's always good to see a player being played like that.

I can feel the nerfazos coming, but I thought Mariano was kind of sweet and vulnerable at first when Viri said their tryst wasn't what she expected. He asked if he'd done anything wrong and wondered if his stress over his nieces' situation had affected his performance. Honestly don't know what Viri can do, other than kick him to the curb. If she'd told him she'd seen him kissing Clawdia, he'd have given her the same song and dance he used to give Jenny. Sorry, didn't mean anything, stopped it (after a minute), blah blah blah. He needed this comeuppance, but it sure took a toll on Viri.

Here's hoping the sun sets and we get a new day tonight. I'm tired of seeing both AnaLe's banana dress and Viri's high-low dress.

I really wasn't thrilled with Viri playing Mariano, because Mariano hasn't the slightest notion what he's being punished for.

Give Viri some credit. I half agree with her. There is hardly a girl on here who hasn't at some time or another at least mentioned a roll with ole blue eyes. Viri put away her feelings for a moment, had a carnal roll in the hay to make all Ya'll jealous, then jumped up and told him it was the worst she'd ever had and waltzed out that door the size of New Jersey. You go girl. :-)

I would like to think Viri also meant for Mariano to just WAKE UP and realize the truths around him. In a way, he's had it easy and consistently talked himself out of situations, batted those pretty blues ( and lord they are pretty) and he's been wildly successful to boot. But he's been blind to AnaLet, he's been reluctant to listen to advice from everyone, etc. And he's played the women who adored and trusted him because "he couldn't help it" he seems to use. Oh please.
This may be slap up the head No.1 in a longer list of surprises he has in store. I do hope he comes out of this with a better understanding of his family, himself and puts that ego down a few pegs.

Mariano will probably tell Samuel he's through with Viri and their conversation will go something like this:

Samuel: You're through with her? Or she's through with you? I kinda got that vibe from her the other day when I ran into her leaving your office.
Mariano: What day?
Samuel: Tuesday (or whatever)
Mariano: What? What time?
Samuel: Three-ish
Mariano (lightbulb on, slaps Palm on face): Oh, NOOO! Claudia!
Samuel: No, not Claudia, Fool, Viridiana! Isn't that who we're talking about?
Mariano: No, I mean, Yes! I mean ... never mind ...
Samuel: Whatever, Man! Gotta go. You're losing it, Bro!

Screenshots are up. Sorry, not usually this behind but was starving. Needed to take a lunch. Discussion looks awesome, gonna read & reply!

Anon 351: Pretty darn good. It could happen just that way. The maddening thing is when Vir tried to warn him about AnaLet's ..um..'interest' in him, he refused to even hear her. Dumb... ever wonder why you have two ears and ONE mouth?

toa

Chana probably saw blood (literally) on Ana Leticia's hand (finger). She had just been playing with the knife before the doorbell rang.

C.

Ana,
A priceless rcap. Thanks.

Ana Banana greets two gypsies!!!

Anna-Best captions ever!

TOA-"There is hardly a girl on here who hasn't at some time or another at least mentioned a roll with ole blue eyes."

Make that green eyes for Santiago...

Julie Lol You're right, way too many people in this TN.

Virginia It was a brief look at the palm & then a brief look up. She looked super afraid. Ana Let recognized the fear immediately, what with her being a predator and all. Really? these captions were lukewarm for me. But thank you & glad you found them fun :)

Jarifa I'm with you on the splitting of the inheritance. I don't think time lost can be compensated with money, but my mom & sis made a good point to me the other day. Ana Let & Llora have been living the life of luxury for years. They weren't for naught, they had birthdays, vacations, clothes, and gifts that she missed. The monetary value of that is what she should get, and it's a lifetime's worth so I'm sure she's still getting jipped in some way. Although, knowing her she'll most likely ask just for the fair share.

Niecie Oily's always been an idiot. But Llora is even more infuriating. You're so right, she needs to be the one to fight. Then again, Ram was less than smart by keeping this hidden for so long, esp now that so many people know. Yea, Tio was kinda sweet in a naked, vulnerable, and see-through-sheet kinda way. Still, he had it coming (sings Chicago)

Viri Exactly, she may have broken her heart now but it's nothing compared to the hurt down the road. He's an idiot, and sorta deserves this as his comeuppance.

Diana I initially wrote it as "He, burned and branded, sipped his brandy" but then changed it because I thought what I have now is less confusing. Guess not lol. But to clarify, yes HE is the one being torched. She walked out of there seemingly unscathed, but he's got the burn marks written all over his face. I think Inaki is doomed. But I still sympathize with him, and still root for him. Probably still will cheer even as everything around him caves in on him. I sure hope he goes out with a bang, he's one of the most layered characters I've become attached to. Also, the most conflicting. You want to despise him, but you can't help but love his charisma.

JudyB Yes amiga, the word of the day is "Unbelievable" and it's brought to you by the letters, W, T, & F. Captioning is seriously hard work. It takes me 1 hour just to do 150 lines in a 600-700 lined episode. It's brutal, but an immersive way to learn Spanish :)

Daisy I used to work from home. Give me your job! I miss it lol. I'm thinking Ghouls either runs to Tadeo & pretends she intentionally gave everything up for him or she gets help from Viri.

Urban He has to be immobile. I can't imagine he'd give up Gina, pretend in front of his sister, and resort to alcoholism if it wasn't for real. I really hope Chana or Leo have the good sense to tell AnaLu or somebody, b/c I fear another death looming.

Anon3:51 Lol I was expecting this instead:
Samuel: You're through with her? Or she's through with you? I kinda got that vibe from her the other day when I ran into her leaving your office.
Mariano: What day?
Samuel: Tuesday (or whatever)
Mariano: What? What time?
Samuel: Three-ish
Mariano: (lightbulb on, slaps Palm on face): Oh, NOOO! I totally forgot to record my soap opera!
(Story of my life :P)

Here's hoping the next time AnaLet slimes all over Mariano he remembers Viri's words and pushes AL away with a, "Whoa, there, what's your problem?" I doubt iit, though.

No, but hopefully it puts a seed of doubt in his brain and forces him to ask her to no be as close to him anymore. I think she'd attempt his murder at that point. If she can't have him, then no one can. Maybe Viri saves his life & forgives the scumbag. Anything could happen at this point.

Thanks for the recap! This episode was quite entertaining. I mean, we got Viridiana finally learning what "self respect" means and we got Julieta being served a plate of delicious karma.

To be honest, I was not expecting Sandro to pull that stunt. How did he finally find out about Julieta's past? It looks like he found himself a trophy wife to replace Julieta though. At first I was wondering why Iñaki was being somewhat nice to Julieta when she showed up at his place but then I had a "DUH" moment. I wonder how he'll explain the circumstances surrounding Isidrio's death and Orlando's (obviously correct) accusations to his brother.

I hope Edmundo and Facundo get their karmaggedon soon.

Hmmm...Never had one I wanted back. Bye..

t

So did Pennzoil text the pictures to Javier, or do we know? Java already thinks his brother is a hooker and his (unbeknownst to him) Mom is his john, now he can see that he is a killer too, or at least just from the pictures, an accessory.

What will Java do? Let's see, normally a person would go to Dad, and then to the PoPo. Wait ! We are in a TN, so Normal, may not apply? Yup..OK, so Java will Go to Maribel and she will grab his phone and destroy it to protect him, so she can use Java to make Ram jealous. I give up.

Stay tuned folks

TF Probably the same investigator he called during Daniel's funeral. It seems he'd known for some time & only put up with it for Daniel's sake. His "business" trips were clearly for pleasure, he had separated from Julieta long before she'd been aware.

Anna Nabil You're right. I had forgotten about the PI. And yes, it's obvious that Sandro was just waiting for the opportune moment to pull the rug out from Julieta.

He was already emotionally distancing himself a few years ago. I think he was waiting for Daniel to grow up. Which (although I don't think he realized) could have taken forever.

Does anyone here know whether Mexican divorce law would allow him to throw her out with nothing but the clothes on her back? That may have been true 50 years ago but now?

I am late to the party, but thank you , AnaBana for that snappy recap.

so....Mariano has finally met a chick who tells him that he did not rock her world. Like many handsome stud muffins, he has a lot invested in his sexual prowess . Then, VIri gives him a tumble and gives him a 7..maybe a six. itvwas just so-so for ne, hombre! He is probably used to getting 10s from his partners . Wow, this could affect his fragile ego and thus affect his future performances....then what? #sorrynotsorry

Some egos need to be slapped once in a while. And Viri delivered a one-two punch.
