Tres Veces Ana - # 122 - El Gran Final! Or they packed their overstuffed suitcases hastily and lived happily ever after!

Alas, all good (albeit slightly drawn out and convoluted at times) things must come to an end. Julie and I tag-teamed this one and it's below in two installments.

For my part I want to say that it has been an absolute pleasure to recap alongside such a wonderful talented team, and discuss along with such bright, insightful, imaginative and entertaining group of folks. You guys are the best. Thank you so much for making this a fabulous fantastic ride!

Part I (Julie)

Everyone's come home from Facundo's cabin. AnaLet is missing. Ernestina is worried, but doesn't want them to keep anything from her.

Up in AnaLet's room, Leonor shows Mariano the blood-soaked dress (bosom bandage, per Jardinera) that AnaLet left behind. Just then, Mariano receives word that Claudia... "what?" Mariano asks his lawyer Samuel.

Ghoulieta receives a large envelope with a note from Inaki: "Here is the truth about the death of your son, Daniel." It's a tablet, with Inaki's confession ready to play. Ghoul and Viridiana watch, horrified, as Inaki says he killed Daniel out of spite for all that Daniel had and Inaki didn't.

Mariano goes home and finds Inaki waiting for him; an employee let him in. Inaki says he did everything for Ana Leticia. She promised to marry him if he would get Ana Lucia out of AnaLet's life... and Mariano's. And AnaLet pushed Jennifer off of that building, too. He hands over a laptop so Mariano can hear AnaLet's confession for himself. She says she fought with Jennifer over Mariano, and killed her. (I think there's also something about trusting Jennifer with secrets, but my captions are messed up.) "I killed her for you, Uncle, I did it for your love." With a roar, Mariano hurls the laptop to the floor. It doesn't actually get very far, so he has to kick it a few times too. He stomps on the keyboard for good measure.

Facundo visits Marcelo in the hospital. Upon seeing that the patient is indeed Marcelo and not Santiago, Facundo tells Marc that from now on he'll be working under his (Facundo's) orders. Marc says what he'd really like is to she's going to devote himself to putting Facundo in prison for the rest of his life. Facundo says no, you are made in my image; you're a killer. Marc says that's not true - he won't end up like Facundo, and he's never killed an innocent person. Facundo disagrees and hands Marc an envelope, the contents of which he claims will change Marc's loyalty. All we see is a small piece of paper, perhaps a photo - we can't tell. But whatever it is, Marcelo reluctantly agrees to be on Facundo's side. And he wants to be brought to Ana Leticia - so he can kill her with his own hands.

And now for a confusing jumble of flashbacks mixed together with the present. I will do my best to untangle things:

AnaLet remembers telling Marcelo that she had been pregnant when he died. In the flashback, Marcelo says something that isn't in the captions, I think he's just saying he got the doctor to verify it. In another flashback, AnaLet tells him that a woman in love is a thousand times more spiteful than a man, and a wounded woman even worse still. In what I assume is a very recent flashback, AnaLet (wearing a clean dress) is telling Facundo he'd better not shoot her.

We see older flashbacks of AnaLet finding out that Marcelo is dead; then she's holding the pregnancy test; later she tells her family she's just buried her husband and she needs to go away for a while. Later, giving birth; she doesn't want to hold the child or even look at it; all she wants is for the baby to shut up.

In the present, Ana Leticia (wearing yet another outfit, this time blood red) visits a big mansion, signs some papers, and goes upstairs to meet her son. He is OMGCUTE, blond, with little glasses. She smiles and says "hola, I am your mama." The boy is lethal with cuteness. I don't know how AnaLet doesn't drop dead on the spot.

Now Inaki's having a flashback: AnaLet meets him in a hotel room. She's wearing what she wore in the flashback with Facundo. Inaki is wild-eyed with desperation. He can't use his credit cards; he has no one to call and no one to go. He's alone. She betrayed him. (They argue over who betrayed whom first.) But AnaLet's got one more option, the perfect way to get revenge on everyone and live as the queen she is.

However, outside of the flashback, Inaki is waiting for AnaLet outside the big mansion. She's bringing the boy (no glasses now) with her: his name is Ignacio, named after AnaLet's father. (We can call him "Nachito.") He's their ticket to freedom, because people are going to fall into diabetic comas when they see him.

Marcelo meets Soledad at the prison. She asks which one he is, just as Facundo asked earlier and Remedios asked Friday night. (After so many months of trying to convince everyone that he's two people, he now has to deal with everyone asking him who he is.) She tries to make him feel guilty/sorry for finally getting his wish to see her in jail. He tells her that he learned important lessons from Santiago. Yawn, sorry, FF, finally Santiago says: "Love doesn't need to be perfect; it only needs to be true." Ana Lucia comes in to see her. They make up. "You are my mama," AnaLu says, and promises to get her out of jail. But Soledad is willing to pay the price for what she did.

Everybody who thought Claw survived, it's time to pay up: Nerina is visiting the twin tombs of Claudia and Valentin. Tadeo and Javier have come along for company. Tad puts his arm around Rina's shoulders.

Also at the cemetary, Ghoulieta looks like she's been living behind a bus station for three weeks. She is crying at Daniel's tomb when Javier approaches. They make up.

At the pension, Remedios, Chana, and Maribel are getting ready to go to a wedding. (Everybody who thought Maribel was dead, it's time to pay up: She's using a cane, but she's alive.) Nerina, Tadeo, and Javier come home with Ghoulieta, who needs somewhere to stay. (Did Viri kick her out? I find that hard to believe.) Rem offers a hot bath and some chicken soup. Javier wants to stay home with his mother while Maribel - who is now his novia - goes to the wedding.

Part II (Ria)

Maribel decides that she will stay with Javier - she is his novia and will support him in everything.

In a slightly different child-parent reunion, Marcelo is visiting Facundo, who wants to know if Marcelo is following his directions. Sounds like he is, and Facundo says he always knew Marcelo will return to him. Before he gets too excited, Marcelo points out that while he hates Ana Le, he also loves Ana Lu. Daddy dearest reminds that Marcelo is also now a father. That should make him understand better why Facundo never gave up on Marcelo (just what every little boy wants to hear we imagine...). Marcelo wants to know where his son and Ana Le are, but Facundo feeds him an "everything in its own time" line and needs a proof of loyalty from him: leave Ana Lu, no later than tomorrow.

Ana Lu shows up at the mansion fresh from her visit to Sole, and right in time to help Ana Laura (she gets her full name today) prepare for the wedding. She calls Leonor 'aunt' and Leo is overjoyed. Ana Lu promises she will love her new family very much and runs off to see Ana Laura, who has been waiting for her. Family idyllic picture culminates in a beautiful wedding of Ana Laura and Ramiro, followed by what seems to be an exciting wedding night for them, and Ana Lu and Marcelo are not far behind. Elsewhere, Ana Le is having her usual half-kinky fun with Inaki. Music plays in the background.

In the morning Ana Lu wakes up to find a picture of Nachito and a note from Marcelo saying that this boy is his and Ana Le's son and Marcelo has to find him. After he does, he will do everything he can to return to Ana Lu, that is - if she will take him with the son, and forgive for hiding him from her.

Ana Laura wakes up to an already dressed Ramiro, who supposedly has work affairs to put in order before their honeymoon trip. (We actually think he is going to play Robin to Marcelo's Batman.)

At the Convention of Murderous and Clinically Insane, which is happening at some super lavish mansion, Ana Le and Inaki are discussing their plans. She is off to see Facundo and, with any luck, tomorrow they will be very far away. Inaki advises her not to trust her father-in-law, but Ana Le isn't worried - they have the same common goal: destruction of the whole family. Besides, Facundo has everything to lose: his precious grandson. Inaki is surprised that Ana Le does not even appear to love the child at all
. This boy to her means millions, more money than they've ever seen. Inaki reminisces that his own mother exchanged him for money (we are beginning to smell redemption cooking on the nearby stove). Ana Le tells him to be less sensitive and to bring the boy to her when she instructs to do so. She turns to leave and Inaki stops her. She ought to give the boy a kiss - maybe this will be the last time she will see him. That ain't happening though - Ana Le already has lipstick on (and she is not reapplying for anybody!).

Marcelo is back at Facundo's. He left Ana Lu and satisfied Facundo pours them a drink. Marcelo wants him to remember that he promised him Ana Le's head and hasn't yet delivered. Also promised him the return of his son. Facundo remembers - after all, the boy is his grandson. Marcelo plays along and says he is very proud of that, and happy that Santiago, along with all his weaknesses, is gone forever. There is only hate left in Marcelo's heart. These words are music to Facundo's ears.

Marcelo needs to know what exactly Facundo's plans are. Facundo needs Marcelo to take care of that idiot Ramiro - after what happened at the cabin, he will not stop until he destroys Facundo. Little does Ram know though, that Facundo prepared him an excellent wedding present - his wife is about to die, and he won't be able to do anything. He wouldn't even want to live after that. Outside in the Batmobile, equipped with latest surveillance tech, Robin (Ramiro) and Alfred (Rodrigo) are listening in. Concerned Ram is off to see Ana Laura, and Rodrigo informs him that Mariano just phoned in to say everyone is at the pension. Commissioner Gordon nearby gives green light for an assault and off they go!

Apparently Mexican SWAT team has not learned covert operations yet and they turn on the sirens as they storm the house. Facundo thinks Marcelo was followed, but Marcelo scoffs at the suggesion: he doesn't make mistakes. So it was a treason then? Marcelo points a gun at him: Facundo betrayed him first. He knew Ana Le ordered the kill on him and could have stopped Evaristo, but he didn't. Facundo wants them to go, he can explain everything, but Marcelo no longer has any interest in a low-life, such as Facundo. This prompts Facundo to draw a gun as well - fine, he doesn't need Marcelo either. He has his grandson and he will not make the same mistakes with that boy. The loud SWAT team finally made it in, they break through and shoot Facundo dead amid Marcelo's screams. He needed him alive, ¡Imbeciles!, he needed to know where his son was!

Ana Le, dressed as Ana Laura to get through the security, shows up at the mansion to begin her master destruction plan. First target is Abue. She quickly reveals herself to a scared Abue and throws an Oscar-deserving schizophrenic fit: Abue never loved her as she should have, she spent all her time on crippled Ana Laura and lost Ana Lu, and Ana Le needed the most love, because she caused the accident. And now Ana Laura and Ana Lu must die - they should have died in that accident. Abue doesn't feel so well and needs her pills. Ana Le grabs them and taunts her with them, but won't give them, because she doesn't believe in Abue's love. She leaves and locks the door behind her, while wishing Abue an eternal rest. Abue collapses on the floor.

While outside Abue's door, Ana Le calls Mariano, pretends to be Ana Laura and lures him to the house under the pretense that everyone is dining with Rem at the pension and Abue forgot her pills. They need him to stop by the house and bring them.

Next our maniac goes to the kitchen and mixes some poison with the orange juice. She then goes to Leonor's room and, while pointing a gun at her, forces her to drink it.

Finally she is off to see her sisters. They came back from somewhere and Ana Lu is telling Ana Laura the story of Nachito. Ana Le walks in as they are discussing it and says that, if all goes according to her plan, Marcelo will never see his son again. Ana Lu wants to reason with Ana Le and that gets her a gun pointed right at her. They are ordered to sit down ("I am a mentally unstable woman with a gun and that's not a good combination", - says Ana Le) and after some more manic speeches, which included monologue on her impossible love that Ana Laura never even noticed, Ana Le produces some silk ropes for Ana Laura to tie Ana Lu with. Behind the scenes she also ties Ana Laura and tells them both how much she hates them. Ana Lu's voice annoys her and she stuff a scarf in her mouth.

Mariano is finally home. He is on the phone with Ramiro: the security left the house, because nobody is there and Ana Laura called him to tell everyone is at the pension. (Hmm...Security is needed exactly when few people are at the house, especially when you are trying to hide/escape from an insane person! Another tip is to check IDs when you anticipate people entering will look alike). Ana Laura and Ana Lu try to scream as Mariano comes in the house, and Ana Le decides to help them - what else are sisters for? Oh, tio Mariaaaano! Help!

Mariano runs in: who did this?? (Good one, Mariano!) Ana Le comes out and tells him to stay away from Lu and Laura. Mariano tries to calm her down, and calls her daughter. Whoa. She needs to explain a couple things to him before they proceed: she hates it when he calls her daughter. She is not his daughter, screams Ana Le, madly wielding the gun. One would think this would be enough for Mariano to catch the drift, but in the next ten minutes, he will continue calling her 'daughter' several times, inciting yells and air shots. But for now, he asks her to calm down and she wants to talk to him alone in her room.

When they enter Ana Le's room, between Mariano's inability to get with the program and play along, and Ana Le's craziness, they are not moving in a good direction. She is pointing the gun at him, screaming to stop calling her daughter, asks him to take off his coat, shirt and shoes and put the handcuffs on. Mariano kneels to do that, he is in hysterics. Ana Le wants a passionate kiss and kisses a disgusted Mariano. (Again, not to pick at what was surely an extremely stressful situation, but probably cringing when a crazy schizophrenic lady tells you she loves you and will kill everyone if you don't reciprocate, is not the best course of action.) Mariano looks like he is about to lose it and asks about Ana Lu and Ana Laura, which almost prompts Ana Le to lose it herself. She, Ana Le, will love him for the both of them. Incidentally we find out her overly revealing outfits were carefully selected for Mariano's benefit and he never even paid attention (the rest of us certainly did though, Ana Le.) Anyway, after this kiss, Ana Le will do anything Mariano wants her to do.

Suddenly police is at the mansion doors and breaking in. They go in and rescue Ana Lu and Ana Laura. Paramedics are helping Abue and Leonor. Leonor is taken to the hospital, but it is too late for Abue.

Viridiana receives a call from Mariano thanking her for her love and saying that the most important in the world to him is Ana Le. Viridiana is in panic.
Mariano, in the car with Ana Le, is finally pulling himself together, or slowly going crazy as well, and tells her they will always be together. Ana Le knew he loved her too. She kisses him and doesn't notice the expression of pained disgust as he turns away. They drive away.

Inaki plays with Ana Le's son and, without realizing it, mimics Tadeo's clown tricks. He remembers his dad and suddenly realizes he can't go through with this. He calls Tadeo and asks for his help. Tadeo shows up and Inaki asks him for forgiveness. Tadeo has nothing to forgive, but Inaki needs to do the right thing. Inaki promises that he will turn himself in, right after he does what he needs to do (we are assuming it's returning the boy).

At the pension Inaki and Tadeo show up with the boy. Inaki is taken into custody and everyone is overjoyed at having Nachito with them. Chana predicts a period of peace and love.

Next we see a scene "several months later". Ana Le is standing by the swimming pool, out of which emerges Mariano. They toast and he tells her that even though he didn't think this would work, he knows they will be together forever. Suddenly we see a scarred Ana Le on the floor in a white room, so this previous moment was a dream. She remembers what actually happened. After they drove away, Mariano gives her a long look and steps on the gas. They crash.

In the present Mariano, bound to a wheelchair, and Viridiana are visiting Ana Le. She notices them and leaps towards him, kissing and licking the glass and screaming. Mariano says she will always be his niece, his daughter. Viridiana knows that.

When they get back to the mansion, life there seems to be continuing. Ana Laura is playing the piano and is revealed to be pregnant. Leonor is pensively looking at Erni's picture, listening to Ana Laura. Mariano brings his wheelchair closer to listen as well. He looks older and haunted.

In jail Sole is talking to a picture of Ana Lu. It is Ana Lu's "birthday" - the day Sole found her. Sole is pretty sure Ana Lu will never again celebrate this day, as the day she was "born" to Sole, is also the day her real parents died. Sole will always have memories of Ana Lu with her - they will last her the rest of her life. As she is speaking, we watch Ana Lu climb the silk ropes and Marcelo, Nachito and Rem watching her. Marcelo comes up to kiss her. The Fin!

why am I not surprised that the closed captioning is so off again tonite.

Only 15 min left, and I'm thinking that this won't be resolved as well as we'd hoped. They added more to the story, instead of focusing on tying up loose ends. Freaking out!

Omg, wtf was this ending? I feel like it was heavily edited, no way this is the complete final made by Televisa...

I saw the first half hour and the last ten minutes. I'll catch the rest of it tomorrow night (or later) on Hulu because I have an early appointment tomorrow - but I agree with Anna, they added more stuff when they should have been wrapping it up with a little more loving care.

But it's done now.

And Angelique is amazing.

Stupid time difference, it's 1:35pm in Sydney and I'm at work!
I won't be able to watch for another 4 hours :(

Hi Everyone,

My random, jumbled thoughts...

I don't know what to think about the ending.I thought it was hurried and it was weird that this kid was introduced at the last episode. I did like Inaki's change of heart because I always had a soft spot for him. Disappointed by the kidnapping scene because it was resolved so quickly. The ending was a nice, happy ending and I was expecting some type of cliff hanger.

Looking forward to the recap, amigas!

It was odd to throw in the child kidnapping story, but they did lay the groundwork for it with the mystery baby story. Now we know what happened. I was actually pleased and satisfied with everyone's end, except Abuela.

We still don't know how Facundo supposedly caused the accident that killed the triplets' parents. That's the biggest loose end I can think of. Rather dumb to set up that sting and not put protection in the mansion where half of the folks Fac and AnaLet wanted to kill live. Oh, well! It worked out in the end, except for Abue! And Tio...

Great part 1, Julie! You did an excellent job with a difficult task-- sorting through the barrage of flashbacks from the long ago past, the near past, and even of things we never saw. Ay yay yay!

One correction-- it was Facundo, not Inaki, who sent Juli the note and video about Dan's death. I too find it hard to believe that Viri abandoned her. The only thing I could come up with is that she left Viri's home and employment of her own volition after finding out how her mistakes led to one of her sons murdering the other. A bit of self punishment.

Looking forward to the last part, Ria!

Ok, did Ana Lucia and Marcelo marry? Or are they just shacking up with little Ignacio?

I knew when Inaki found out about Ignacio he would turn on Ana Leticia.

Even if Tio hadn't crashed the car, he probably would've had erectile dysfunction for the rest of his life remembering. Being with Ana Leticia.

RIP Ernestina

Does it matter if they married? They're in love, happy, and have a cute kid.

Tio luckily didn't have to prove his "love" for AnaLet beyond the kiss she forced on him while handcuffed and then in the car, before he ended things permanently with a crash. The rest will just have to live in her imagination for the rest of her loony life. Poor Mariano still looked haunted, though. Even with the love of Viridiana.

Well, the first real fight Mariano and Viri have, all she has to do is wait till they are in bed and call him Tio in the dark.

T(i)oa

I think it matters if they are married, if they break up she has no rights to Ignacio (even though he's her nephew), if Marcelo's brain problems recur shed really have no authority because she wasn't his wife. (Neither would Remedios unless she legally adopted him). Or, if she was injured during Danzaire, Marcelo wouldn't have any say so in her medical care (if for some odd reason Ana Laura and Leonor opposed it). People say marriage is just a piece of paper but it's a very important piece of paper,

Then again, Ana Lucia was content to be his mistress so they probably aren't married,

Ana Laura will probably name her baby Ernestina if it's a girl.

After Soledad got all haughty with Marcelo (really?!), I was glad she was still in jail at the end.

I feel hollow inside. But I got what I wanted. They killed off a good guy, but it was Abue :( They let one bad guy escape (sorta) by putting her in a manicomio. Ana Let lives in a fantasy world, so she's not exactly suffering.
Idk how, but I predicted she'd end up disfigured in a car accident w/ Tio who'd end up crippled (but I only wanted this as an anvil b/c we thought he caused Tin's work injury). Mariano didn't deserve to be crippled unless he caused Tin to be crippled (which wasn't the case, so what gives?).

I predicted Maribel would survive w/ an injury & I'm glad, but it felt insincere that she'd end up w/ Javi. They could've elaborated that he maybe helped in her rehabilitation, or given us more background or something.

Julieta looked psychotic. And Tadeo was quick to forgive her.

Idk what was in that OJ, but we can be rest assured that Ana Let sucks at poison cocktails.

Idk why Erne doesn't have Life Alert or a cell phone to call 911, or why this rich family never had security.

I'm glad Inaki redeemed himself, but I'd have preferred he died. I loved his scenes w/ little Nacito though.

I loved how in the end where Ana Lu is doing her drops on the telas, and Lil Nacito is ignoring everyone trying to get him to watch her. Never give a child a tablet, if you want him to act. This is my favorite scene, and it's b/c in their attempt to get this kid to pay attention & force him to look up in awe, he instead gets up & walks off. Yes, this is Viewerville in a nutshell. Just when the writers hope to get us to be in awe of their handiwork & give applause, we react like Nacito, fed up w/ this Telenovela lol. It was the perfect send-off.

Btw, I noticed that Remedios lost alot of weight in these last episodes. I wonder if she went on a crash diet or if they shot the final week after a hiatus.

I was pleased that there was a happy ending. Didn't want to take a chance of giving a "spoiler" earlier, but the Lucero version had a disturbing ending.

There were a few events that were definitely edited and choppy, but we already knew AB was upset with how scenes were left out.

The acting in this tn was superb! I am amazed at Angelique's talent. This is just the beginning of a promising career for her.

Vivi in DC said, "Does it matter if they married? They're in love, happy, and have a cute kid." That applies to Angie and Sebastian, too.

Thanks so much for getting this recap up so soon!

Anna- Nachito asking Inaki why he was crying, was ADORABLE! And yes, at the end, when the tablet was more interesting to him than the lady swinging from silks over his head was funny.

Actually all you need is a power of attorney. Or they could do the Jolie-Pitt thing & adopt little Nacito w/o having to be married. Marriage isn't the only way to have a say. I liked that Angelique & Sebastian talked about feeling like they're married but w/o needing the paperwork to prove they're happy. It was sweet to see them talk about their love so candidly & with so much sincerity.

Centipede face appeared to be crushing up some of Erni's pills.

Glad Maribel survived.

If LooneyVision can't do any better than this, I AM F 'ING DONE.
Jumbled MishMash Einstein couldn't sort out, Closed Captions which only said Tres Veces Ana Univision four thousand times.

I'm pissed.
Thank You recappers, you all save the day.

Yeah, Marcelo wouldn't have to adopt Ignacio because he's his son (unless its proven he was Daniel's son); if Ana Lu and Marcelo were to break up she'd be the one out of luck, not him.

I don't, I don't like it. It glorified Ana Lucia being a willing mistress too much for my liking; even thought the wife in question was a horrible person she still was his wife. Ana Leticia legally could've had Ana Lucia barred from Marcelo's beside, just like Facundo had Remedios barred from Marcelo's beside. It's just a silly piece of paper until you need that piece of paper. There's a kid involved now; get married.

Vivi, I missed that b/c the captions were off tonight, gotta rewatch when WLEXT.net uploads their english captions. But I caught him talking about his toy. Such a cutie, reminds me of the little boy from Jerry Maguire <3

I meant it in the sense that they'd do like the Jolie-Pitts where one parent (Brad) adopts an already established child (Maddox).

Anna said, "I liked that Angelique & Sebastian talked about feeling like they're married but w/o needing the paperwork to prove they're happy. It was sweet to see them talk about their love so candidly & with so much sincerity"

Glad you shared that, Anna. I can't understand what is being said in Spanish. I hope the entire interview will be shown somewhere-and with English subtitles. I just think they are so sweet together.

I was pretty satisfied with the ending. A friend of mine had talked to me about the Lucero version's ending, and I was hoping it would be very different. It definitely was! I am a total sucker for happy/mostly happy endings.
It seems like every novela adds a new character near or at the end of the story, usually as a vehicle for some one's redemption, or downfall. The kid was the ace up her sleeve, a contributor to her false sense of confidence that she would win in the end. Unfortunately her sidekick has a weak spot - being abandoned. Only a child, and the observation of ALet's cold abandonment of said child, could have caused him to both repent, and move against her definitively. I did like that they redeemed Inaki, I really like that actor, and was hoping he would turn against ALet. He ended up where he belonged of course, but Vivo.
I also loved that Soledad stayed in la carcel. Like many of us, i never bought into her sob story and sympathetic theme music. I did like that AnaLu forgave her, because she needed to make peace with it, but it's really criminal and truly selfish what she did.
The episode did feel kind of rushed and edited to bits. It felt like we were missing the details, and unfortunately brought it into this wide lens view that caused some slight detachment. I really do think someone miscalculated the amount of time remaining. I think there was a clear vision, mostly, but we were not allowed to see all of it. Does anyone know if there is a way (or will be one, when it ends) to watch the Mexican version that is airing there now? I heard they were getting the full versions of the episodes.
There can't be enough praise for AB's performance, so I will add mine here. Simply amazing. i really do hope she gets every award available. I loved that she was so humble about it all, she seemed so sincere in her love for her craft.
So glad this discussion page is already up as I was dying to read everyone's reactions. I don't really post, but I have read every recap, and every comment. The show wouldn't have been the same without you all! Thank you so much, every recapper, it's not easy to do what you do, and I am so grateful! There's some amazing talent here!
What's the consensus on Vino? I've been catching up Despertar Contigo, which is good, but no recaps. I wish I had the time or talent to contribute in that way. As it is I mostly watch on Hulu the following day or a couple days later. Btw, Hulu captions are much better than Uni's... with just the usual mistakes, but good timing.
Looking forward to the rest of the comments!

I respect that we can feel emotionally attached to the idea of marriage. Still, nobody should be forced to marry b/c of a child. Convenient, but not very romantic. I too would've like to have seen a wedding though. I love the aesthetics behind them :D Also, the way I prefer to see it is Santiago was with the woman he loved, not a mistress. To call her that implies that they had an affair, but we understand it was more complicated than that. I prefer the term "lover" over "mistress", and the term "my love" over "lover". It's all semantics at the end of the day, b/c a "wife" is only so if one believes she kept her vows to him. She cheated on him w/ Daniel & ordered his murder. That severs the vows, and dismantles her marital title. Legally, she holds ties to him & that's why I don't like the idea of marriage. It gives too much power to a spouse & to the government over an individual. There should be more than 1 power of attorney. I have 3 who will decide what happens to my body, my possessions, & my faculty of mind. 3 breaks a tie, and allows for an objective discussion on my behalf. I like that they reflected reality as there are many different kinds of relationships. Here, they gave us a marital relationship (Ana Laura & Ram) & a non-marital relationship (Ana Lu & Marc). There are many who live happily out of wedlock w/ children, and it's nice to see TN'S reflecting this demographic finally :)

Good work, Julie, and I'm with everyone else.

This did feel very choppy and that annoys me. The introduction of Nachito was unexpected and somewhat of an afterthought, but it may have been done specifically to speak to Inaki's situation and to make him realize what a monster he had hooked up with.

I hope Ana Laura and Ana Lucia saw shrinks after those horrible experiences and discoveries. That and the scene with Ana Leticia and Mariano after it was about as perverse as almost anything I've seen in novelas in the last few years. Ana Leticia is right down in infierno along with Severiano Mendoza and Pedro Medina.

Glad Maribel survived, but it upsets me that Ernestina died, especially the way she did.

More tomorrow; I'm wiped.

Wow! This final was intense! I agree that it seemed so choppy and rushed though, I don't understand why Uní does this! The last TN I remember watching that didn't seem chopped up was LQLVMR, it seemed to go on forever.

I was disappointed that the episode started with everyone randomly gathered at the house after the events at the cabin. It also seemed really forced that Ana Laura would get married when her murderess sister is missing. I felt confused as to whether the family knew about Ana Let's crimes, they just seemed to forget about her.

I was shocked when it was revealed Ana Let had a child and yes he was adorable! It broke my heart that he was abandoned since birth, who was he left with? What was that place?

I can't believe Ernestina died! Poor Rodrigo! That was tragic. And poor Mariano too! Yes, he was a womanizer and had a sick obsession for Gina but he was not responsible for Valentin's accident. And that scene with Ana Let was cringeworthy.

Ana Let in the manicomio made sense. Glad Maribel survived as well but I would have rather lost her than Abue. And glad Iñaki did the right thing in the end.

Although I agree that Marcelo and Ana Lu don't have to get married, I admit I was a little disappointed that there was no boda because I had seen those instagram pics with Angelique in 2 different wedding dresses. I'm going to double check that but overall not a bad ending. Great recap and looking forward to more tomorrow!

The rest of the recap is up - phew, what a finale!

Man, I too can't believe Erni was killed off like that. How terrible for Rodgrigo, who spent his whole life waiting for her.

At least Mariano was kept alive. I suppose the wheelchair is a way to have him "sympathize" with Valentin, but leaving Ana Le alive is a constant reminder to them, especially in the state she is in. So a happy end of sorts, but definitely has been exciting to watch.

I'm glad they didn't fully emulate the ending of LAZOS DE AMOR, in which (-----------SPOILER ALERT-------------) Maria Paula kills Tio and then commits suicide... and in the final scene, Maria Guadalupe, now married to Taxi Driver, suddenly scratches her eyebrow just like her evil sister used to do... so we never knew whether Maria Paula had indeed killed herself, or if she killed the good triplet and then took her place.

But... ABUE!!!! so sad! Even though I hated her most of the time, it's not fair.
I also don't see why Mariano had to end up in a wheelchair. surely, he'd already paid for any wrongdoing, there was no need to disable him.

I must say I LOVED THIS TELENOVELA. It was the rare case of a remake that far exceeded its predecessor, even if the final week was heavily edited. Perhaps the Mexican broadcast will be unabridged when they get to the final episodes, in about three months?

From my 1996 VHS tape.

Thank you for the recap Ria.

I can see AnaLet becoming like Iñaki when he grows up and finds out all the truth about his family.

I meant AnaLet's son

I'm still confused about how the police, Marcelo and Ramiro showed up all of the sudden and saved everyone. It seemed that one minute AnaLet was with tio, and then magically everyone was being saved. What happened in between? Did I miss something, or was this part of horrible editing by Univision?

I definitely will try to see if they air the full version of the finale in Mexico, but it will be a while :(

-Angel

Thank you Julie and Thank you Ria

It blows me away a show drags on for months with filler and Univision hacks at the end. They absolutely ruined La Malquerida the last week.

Best scene for me last night was disfigured Leticia (a mule musta kicked her) open mouth kissing the glass.

Why didn't Marcelo sit Lucia down and tell her he had a child and trust her with his plan instead of leaving a note? That certainly wasn't a deal breaker after Lucia accepted being mistaken for her sister and becoming the lover of a man married to her, well, by one half of him.

Nothing about Mariano tells me he would be willing to die to rid the world of Leticia.

A kilo of powder doesn't kill Leonor? What did Leticia cut that with, self rising flour?

She angered me frequently but Soledad doesn't deserve to live the rest of her life in prison.

There is nothing redeeming about Inaki. Face it, if he didn't look good, everyone would want his head.

Julie and Ria, thank you for a simply outstanding recap of the finale. It is as though you wrote with one voice - clear, concise culminating in a beautifully written summary.

So many wonderful lines (and fantastic screen shots) but "The boy is lethal with cuteness", "He's their ticket to freedom, because people are going to fall into diabetic comas when they see him" and "That ain't happening though - Ana Le already has lipstick on (and she is not reapplying for anybody)" were among my many favorites.

"we are beginning to smell redemption cooking on the nearby stove" was perfection. The scenes of Inaki with Ana's son were priceless. I know Pedro has children and it was clear he engaged the child fully. What a clever way to melt the ice forming around his heart! His own abandonment recollections were simply too much for him to bear. I am happy the generous Tadeo forgave him and will stand behind him.

"Ghoulieta looks like she's been living behind a bus station for three weeks". Another spot on comment. While her sins may be unpardonable, does any mother deserve knowing one of her children killed another? Her torment here on earth will be lingering. At least she will have Javier's love. Hopefully, in time, she might be able to forgive Inaki.

I did not give the actor playing Mariano enough credit. He shone last night. You could see and feel his utter revulsion and the mesmerizing fear.

Did Ernie really have to die last night? I didn't see the point. And with Soledad still in jail, it seemed a sad ending to have Leo home. Alone.

I was shocked Ana Let had her son. I did not see that coming. At all.

I'm still trying to process all this. Boyer was incredible.

I would like to thank all the recappers for their generous time and for making being part of this such a wonderful experience. You are all so talented. Thank you for the commenters who pointed out so much that I missed.

I will comment again later but my head is still spinning.

Diana

First, thank you Julie for an amazing final recap. What a perfect way for us to send this off.
Second, thanks to ALL of our recappers. What an amazing team of insightful, funny, and dedicated folks. So very thankful to you all.

As for the finale, I felt let down. There were definitely good moments, but it felt like it needed more time or better storyline wrap-ups. And that editing again...gee thanks Uni.

High points were the unveiling of Nachito ( Facundo must have been loaded since I'm guessing he paid for that house?) and Inaki's "redemption". Something felt right about his realization of where he found himself and calling his father for help and forgiveness. He will live in jail for the rest of his life, but he won't be "abandoned".

Now, the AnaLoon/Mariano scenes. How uncomfortable was that? And how much did that mean the actors knocked it out of the park? I felt my heart racing just watching. The disgust and horror of Mariano was palpable...his desperation to get AnaLoon to come back to reality of who she really was and knowing, that was NOT going to happen. As soon as they went to the car, I knew what he was planning to do.

What I didn't expect was that they both lived another day...she with her treasured beauty scarred and he confined to a wheelchair. His haunted look at the house made me believe, he truly blames himself for everything: Gina, AnaLoon, Abue's death. And honestly, the confinement to the wheelchair tells me the writers believe it somewhat too. Facundo may have been the big baddy, but Mariano's cheating, his lifestyle, his refusal to listen to people allowed many of the events to occur.

Could have cared less about Soledad, but glad she stayed in jail to pay for what she did. But what the heck was all that on Abue???? And why make the big deal about the three sisters when one gets bumped off? They could have had the plot without that revelation honestly bringing Soledad into the family. Stupid.

Ghoul getting redeemed was Meh. (She looked like this Halloween statue down the street) The side characters were so marginalized at the end, I felt like we should have had another 1/2 hour.

Instead we get Llora playing another dirge ( gee practice a lullaby or something) and one last aerial show by AnaLu. I was SOOOOO Nachito--my tablet became more interesting too. The end was just Flat.

Thanks everyone. It's been a blast!! I'm not tuning into this next one at 9:00--do not like the actress and just hasn't grabbed me in previews or write-ups. So sticking with just the one for now. See some of you on El Color, hopefully with others on another show soon.

Angel, it's a bad editing job. This series has had an uneven pacing with too much filler in the episodes after about #15 and was too rushed in the last two weeks or so. I think there were at least two or three hours missing in the last week's worth. I don't get the time jump to Ana Laura being heavily pregnant. How was it that Ana Leticia and Inaki weren't caught all that time?

What episode are they up to in Mexico?

Ria, great work. Loved this: Outside in the Batmobile, equipped with latest surveillance tech, Robin (Ramiro) and Alfred (Rodrigo) are listening in. You might want to add that Ana Leticia was also holding a knife during the very cringeworthy scene with Mariano. I think it was the same knife she killed Clawdia with.

The time jump seriously didn't make any sense except to show that Ramiro's wish will be coming true. He's listening to Ana Laura play and they're going to have a baby. There is no way that Ana Leticia should have been at large for so long. Plot contrivance for the ending.

More in a bit.

Ria- Thank you for part 2. Absolutely wonderful, and the screen shots to! Thanks to you both for a great final recap.

It definitely seems like Mariano is the most emotionally scarred from the whole AnaLet reveal. The other sisters seem to have moved on happily, and Leonor misses her sister, but is happy with her nieces and their kids. The Mariano actor really hit it out of the park with that last scene in the bedroom with AnaLet as you all noticed. Very different than the calm, cool in control (and arrogant) Mariano we had always seen.

Urban- The time jump to the pregnancy was after the arrest of Inaki/return of Nachito, shooting of Facundo, and car accident of AnaLet and Mariano after she nearly offed the whole family. The assumption is that in the months between those events (that all happened the same day) and the final scenes, Mariano and AnaLet recovered from the accident, he got back with Viri, AnaLet was put away, and Ana Laura became pregnant.

Wondering if the unedited TVA might be shown on Netflix sometime in the future. Does anyone know how that works?

Urban- There were actually two time jumps in this finale, but the first one wasn't announced or made clear, and likely ended up on the cutting room floor. The first jump happens some time after Maribel's accident, Marcelo's surgery, Tin's killing, and Claudia's murder, which all happened the same day. Between that time and the day after the wedding, when all the madness happens, Maribel and Marcelo have enough time to recover and a wedding is planned (a few months?). AnaLet and Inaki are on the run. Fac has exposed Inaki's darkest secret to Juli (she starts living under a bridge or something), Inaki reveals Analets's darkest secret to Mariano, AnaLet makes a deal with Fac over Nachito, and Inaki allies himself with AnaLet again and gets in on her Nachito plan, during that time.

Thank you, Julie and Ria. Two thorough and smart recaps of a long, complex episode to start my morning. I actually woke up thinking about last night's Finale!

I hate it when new information is introduced in the last episode to change the dynamics and make our guesses wrong!
On the other hand, little Ignacio's presence brought many themes together at the end and was a catalyst for the demise of the bad guys.

In general, the finale was satisfying to me. You can't have this much havoc and violence in a family without an ending that includes some tragedy. I hated to see Ernestina die and Mariano so severely injured -- sees unnecessarily harsh dramatically. But they, along with Soledad, we're paying a price for past sins as parents or parent surrogates.

The other anvils and redemptions were fine. I was glad to see signs of humanity in our Inaki and sorry that Nerina lost both children, however evil and uncaring they were. Glad that she seems to ended up with Tadeo. The pension lives on, a refuge for all and apparently still the home of AnaLucia and Marcelo (looking better than ever!)

I liked that AnaLucia's and AnaLaura's artistic work remained with them to the end. Made sense that Ramiro and AnaLaura married after many years of devotion. It also made sense that Marcelo and AnaLucia seem not to have married, at least yet.

And Ignacio is about as cute as it gets (Anna - great recall on little boy in Jerry McGuire). I laughed when I saw the glasses only because Laurito in LQLVMR wore glasses as well. Sebastian Rulli's sons wear glasses in his novelas?

Finally, I understand that AnaLe would put up with a pregnancy for the potential advantages in the future, but it is still hard to imagine. No matter how much better souls may love pregnancy, it involves physical changes and discomforts that seem completely beyond AnaLe. The payoff is so worth it, but most of us don't define payoff the way that AnaLeticia did!

I really enjoyed this novela, the recappers' wonderfully thoughtful and creative work, and all of you. I look forward to seeing you at la proxima -- whatever that may be.

I

Thank you Ria and Julie for your wonderful joint effort. What a great recap to finish this one off! Thank you to the entire recapping team for all the work you did. It was appreciated,

What a great ending! In spite of being a bit choppy, I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. I feel that everybody ( except for Ernestina) got the ending they deserved. Very satisfying!

Iñaki's identification with Ana Leticia's son was especially touching as well as his reconciliation with his father.

I especially enjoyed Ana Leticia's "revenge tour" on her family from Ernestina to Leonor to her sisters and finally her beloved Mariano. Tío Mariano FINALLY had to face what he already knew but never wanted to deal with. I was just as disgusted and grossed out by her crawling all over Mariano and them kissing as I was by the execution scene in The Walking Dead the night before. Job well done! I never thought they would go there--but they did which was a big thumbs up. Mariano's plan was a good one. Too bad he ended up crippled but Ana Leticia ending up in the padded room was perfection.

All of the acting was excellent in this one but a special acknowledgement has to be made for Angelique Boyer who had a performance of a lifetime in this novela. I always actually felt that the three Ana's were played by three different people.

The best line was Ana Leticia in total exasperation to her sisters: "Estoy mal de la cabeza y las dos deben de estar de acuerdo conmigo que una mujer en mi estado y una pistola no son buena combinación." ( I'm nuts and the two of you must agree with me that a woman in my state and a gun are not a good combination.) Understatement of the show!

The special afterwards was good, too.

That is all for now.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The Good (and great)

Casting and Performances: Perfect. Great combination of actors, especially the younger versions of the adult characters shown in flashbacks. The triplets in the car, the younger versions of the mature adults, and the casting combinations of parents and children were very much up to Televisa's standards. The younger versions of Evaristo and Facundo were particularly good and Fabián Pizzorno (the mature Facundo) looked very much like he could be the father of Sebastian Rulli. We can probably expect to see them again as father and son.

This was Angelique's finest hour so far. I think she is the next Edith Gonzales, so I hope for the sake of her career she doesn't decide to get pregnant and take years off. She's at an important age now to keep going. Sebastian Rulli was also great in this series with The Three Faces of Marcelo. Kudos also to Éric del Castillo for his almost-clone of Vito Corleone and especially the scenes of Evaristo's decline. I'm sure he also loved the wardrobe. Carlos de la Mota was also brilliant as Valentin.

It was also good to see Roberto Ballesteros cast against type. He's usually playing sleazebag villains so it was great to see him as a loving father for a change. Lots of good scenes between his sons as well.

Wardrobe / Hair / Makeup: Best was Éric del Castillo's wardrobe, copied from The Godfather, the parade of ramerawear on Angelique for Ana Leticia, and the Boho look for Ana Lucia. The mature ladies were all dressed well and suitably. The big divide on Santiago/Marcelo was effective and appropriately resolved at the end. The different coiffures on Angelique were great for all three of the sisters along with the makeup differences, and the Santiago hair is what always looks best on Sebastian Rulli. I have to wonder how much time Angelique had to spend getting her nails repainted between shooting each character; the dark stuff she wore as Ana Leticia takes time to remove. Maybe it was Lee Press-on Nails. Great work on Ghoulieta's ghostly look, too.

Sets: To me it's not a novela without a great mansion and beautiful kitchens.

Writing: Mostly good. This was a well-designed jigsaw puzzle that is difficult to describe after the fact to someone who hasn't seen it day to day. The build-up of Ana Leticia's madness was its best element, the evolution of Evaristo was next, along with the parallel family stories. While we were blind-sided with the appearance of Nachito, the part with Iñaki recovering his humanity through interaction with him was excellent.

The Bad

Editing:
The Univision edits in the last two weeks were unforgivable. The last five episodes felt like there were holes which had essential information. It makes me wonder how far ahead the shooting was from the broadcast.

Character Development Issues: The writers could have given Angelique a bit more to help develop the character of Ana Laura. She's a goody two-shoes (eek!) who doesn't do much more than cry for too many episodes. She had a few really outstanding moments: when she prepares to make love with Ramiro, when she works out her frustrations on the piano in Mariano's place, and when she shoots Valentin in the penultimate episode. There wasn't enough of this. As a music lover I would have liked to have seen an evolution in her repertoire. I didn't recognize the wimpy stuff she plays most of the time and her music should have become increasingly robust through the series. Once they were free of Ana Leticia she should have graduated to the music of my mail classical man, Ludwig von Beethoven. It would have been great to have seen her performing his Fifth Piano Concerto* in concert with a big orchestra.

There also was no good explanation of Ana Leticia's obsession with Mariano. It isn't normal to develop a sexual obsession for someone one knows all one's life no matter how attractive he is. How on earth did this happen? I saw no evidence of him shorting her on appropriate avunculate attention. In fact, he seemed to favor her at times.

General: There appeared to have been some retconning in the character of Facundo, who seemed like a grieving father when we first encountered him after his three-year “hibernation” in the woods. Since I've only seen this actor once before and I don't recognize most of the series on his resume prior to Pasión y Poder so I didn't see his character's evil waiting in the wings. Let's remember this when this actor appears in his next Televisa role.

Also, shouldn't Ernestina have had more servants beyond Leonor (this wasn't right) and a chauffeur? That makes no sense with a mansion that size.

*Copy and paste in another tab to listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDXWK3W477w&index=2&list=WL (the blog won't let me html this one)

The Ugly

The Fashion Show:
All I can say is WTF???

Isidro: That says it all.

Ana Laura's Wardrobe: This went from Little Girl to Dowdy Spinster. Along with her character there should have been an evolution. Her skirts were too long; one could imagine her prosthesis getting tangled in the hems, which would have been a very bad thing. As far as we could see there was no elevator in that mansion.

I will deal with the Karmageddons separately, as I did with PyP's.

Thanks Julie and Ria!

I was pretty satisfied with the finale. Although it wasn't as good as PyP's finale, it was way better than QTPD's and LI's even with all the cut scenes. I'm glad it didn't end like Lazos de Amor did.

I think all of us figured AnaLet was lying when she previously said that she had Marcelo's child. The writers got us good. Although I did think the storyline was unnecessary. I wonder what that place was where Nachito was? And who took care of him? Since AnaLet had to sign papers I wonder if maybe someone had temporary custody or something?

The best scene was definitely the scene with AnaLet and Mariano. He looked absolutely terrified finding out that AnaLet was attracted to him. I was wondering if he intentionally caused the accident but was willing to sacrifice himself?

I'm glad Iñaki turned himself in. I didn't want him to die so I think his ending was satisfactory. I previously predicted that he'd be on his knees begging his father for forgiveness and I was somewhat correct save for the on his knees part. I wonder why/if Viri kicked Julieta out of her place? It didn't surprise me that Javier forgave Julieta. I'm glad Maribel survived.

I didn't expect Ernestina to die though. That was totally unexpected and unfair. She didn't deserve that. Poor Rodrigo.

Well, I'll be around for Vino El Amor so hope to see at least some of you watching as well!

Vivi, I agree with you about Ghoulieta leaving Viri's place. She must have been punishing herself once she knew that Inaki killed Daniel. Facundo was the worst kind of sadist for sending that video to her. It served no purpose other than to torture her mentally and emotionally.

I caught that there were two time jumps but this was completely inappropriate. Ana Leticia should not have been at large for more than a day or two after Inaki brought the laptop to Mariano. That video should have been sent to the police, but that would have not allowed for the scene of Inaki playing with Nachito which set up his emotional reaction and his act of redemption to get that child to Marcelo, with whom he belonged. Great scene, but a bad plot contrivance.

Mariano's reaction to the confession was appropriate in its anguish, but his attempt to destroy the computer almost looked like he was going to allow Ana Leticia to get away with murder. This was at serious variance with his reactions to her when she tried to force herself on him for what turned out to be the last time. That was a truly cringeworthy scene played for maximum shock value. The way she was handling the knife made me wonder whether she intended to kill him, herself, or both. The editing of the next few scenes had me wondering WTF was really happening with them until we got to the white room when I realized that the pool scene was all in Ana Leticia's head.

Tofie, I agree with you about Soledad. She went into the prison thinking she will spend the rest of her life there but I don't remember what was actually said about how much time she would do for this. It also doesn't seem right that nobody is doing anything about this. Leonor was in favor of getting her out so that should have been happening in the finale.

As for Mariano, he was in denial for so long through the story I agree partially with your statement. However, that last attempt of hers to come on to him must have made him fear for his own life or sanity. She must have been armed to the teeth in the car because he could otherwise have overpowered her easily.

Inaki always had that humanity about him but his ambition always got in the way. It took seeing Ana Leticia do to little Ignacio what Julieta had done to him, abandon him then come back to use him for her purposes that finally got him to see the light.

Ana Leticia abandoned Inaki in the house with little Ignacio while she had sex with Tio (I'm pretty sure Ana Leticia and Mariano had a full blown sexual relationship while they were missing).

The blonde woman in the house was taking care of Ignacio (she was also in the delivery room).

I'm not sure that Tio in the wheelchair had anything to do with Valentin but it sure shut down his womanizing. It was the only way he and Viridiana could be together, too.

I think the redemption of Julieta was more for Javier than for Julieta.

Apparently no one ever cared about Orlando's whereabouts or whatever happened to him.

I think if Soledad had wanted to get out of prison, she could have. Ana Lucia would've made sure of it. But she didn't want to get out of prison, I think she told Ana Lucia that prison had given her a sense of peace and tranquility she never had before. I think prison is the only way Soledad could've remained Ana Lucia's mother; if she was out of prison the shadow of her having kept Ana Lucia away from the family would've always hung over her.

About Ernestina dying...sometimes characters die that don't deserve to die. Jennifer did nothing to deserve getting pushed off the edge of a building. Lourdes & Ignacio did nothing to deserve dying in the car crash (whether it was provoked by Facundo or Ana Leticia). Agustin (Lourdes' father/Ernestina's husband) didn't deserve to get killed by Facundo. Daniel didn't deserve to die for being a jerk.

But we did have characters who deserved to die and did, like Valentin, Facundo, Evaristo and Orlando.

Maribel got the punishment she deserved for always coveting what Ana Lucia had. If you covet what someone else has, you just might end up getting the bad along with the good, which is what Maribel got. Luckily for her Javier has a big heart and will accept her, good and bad.

Urban, The first novela I watched was called Alguna Vez Tendremos Alas, with Kate del Castillo in her first starring role. Her love interest was Humberto Zurita. Competing for Zurita was Cynthia Klitbo, who wanted to be a symphony conductor. She loses Zurita to Kate but her other plans work out. In one of the finale scenes, she is conducting an orchestra. I don't recall the music but I found the ending thrilling because she had achieved this status still so unusual for a woman. And, the loser in the love affair actually went on to a promising life. This was in 1997.

My point - how wonderful it would have been to see AnaLaura performing serious music before a large and serious crowd, suggesting that she had real talent and a future as a musician. Too bad the writers didn't consider the smart idea. I intend to go back and watch the finale of Alguna Vez.

Anon207- I really don't think that Mariano had sex with Ana Leticia, which is why she had to make the fantasy up in her mind. Otherwise, she would have been reliving that moment over and over again. he could barely kiss her without throwing up. Nothing else was going to rise to the occasion. He attempted to kill her and himself before anything would have to go that far, or she could hurt anyone else.

The Clawdia knife had wood on the handle, the knife last night did not. If Marky Mark knew all along about this cloistered child, why was he shocked when AnaLetMeSpawn initially told him she was preggers when he (hopefully but did not)died?

We are expected to dumb down quite a bit to enjoy and pretend to believe this story, but I can only force myself into a certain level of stupidity/ignorance. I need far fewer brain cells to convince myself to pretend to believe most of this manure.

Ms. Boyer is amazing.

BTW Wino Love is all over Despierta America this morning

Anon 10:08- Marcelo DIDN'T know the child was alive until Facundo showed him whatever it was in the hospital.

The maddening thing with me is partly that Waking With You was on right before TVA and the CCs were perfect. Lower caps and no more scrambled than usual, in a word, actually useful.

Then BLAM ! TVA is on and the CCs were from Mars. The previous show proved that they were capable of doing CCs. Does anybody at LooneyVision actually tune in as though they were a viewer and say. "WHOA something is forked up, fix this quick."

Do you just turn on the transmitter, throw something out there and go take a nap? The fact that the CCs are OK or not from one hour to the next is the key.

OK ViVi Thanks

By the way, there's a synopsis up for Vino el Amor and Stevey has provided an impassioned pitch for it in the comments section.

What an ending to an overall great TN! With the exception of some hiccups, I have really loved this show. Great story and great casting.

I haven't contributed much to comments on here but I've been here every single day reading every recap and every comment - you gals are amazing, and thanks for making this show even more meaningful!

I have to say, I was generally happy with almost every character's ending (except Ernestina - RIP), but I didn't appreciate how rushed all those endings ended up feeling. But, all in the interest of time, I guess. Can someone tell Univision to stop tampering with Televisa's episodes already?!

From the beginning, I knew that TVA was a remake of Lazos de Amor, so I vowed never to watch any clips of the original to avoid any spoilers just in case TVA followed the same course. But this morning, after the finale, I decided to watch the ending of Lazos to compare - and wow. A lot of similarities, but definitely a unique ending. I wanted to ask: can anyone who's familiar with Lazos clear up that ending for me? I'm not 100% sure of what to believe. I'm thinking that I may try to watch Lazos de Amor on YouTube now that TVA is over so that I might miss it less!

Also, for anyone who is in denial like me and wants to hold on to TVA a bit longer, I found an album on Spotify that has all the theme music from the show. It's called "Tres Veces Ana (La Musica Original de la Telenovela). You can find it here: https://open.spotify.com/album/7M7GgZai46L3zSnCNLauGy

Can't wait to read even more comments from you all as the day rolls on!

Also, I believe Marcelo left a picture of the child with Ana Lucia when he left her, to let her know what was really going on.

It would've been easy for Ana Leticia to hide her pregnancy from the family; all she had to do was say she needed to go away because she was grief stricken over Marcelo, etc. Then come back when her body was tight and right again.

I think something did go down between Ana Leticia and Tio; she could have raped him. Whatever did or did not happen, she was entirely too happy and pleased with herself when they got into that car and I don't think she would've been that happy had Mariano rejected her. Whatever went down, Mariano probably wouldn't have been able to have a functional sexual relationship with anyone for a long time, if ever.

The car accident was more for Ana Leticia than him; the story started with a car accident separating one of the triplets from the rest of the family...the story ended with a car accident separating one of the triplets from the rest of the family. Except in Ana Leticia's case, they know exactly where she is.

I agree Anon207. No way Leticia let Mariano off with a kiss. She was obsessed, held all the cards and unless he was unable to perform the deed was done

Karmageddon Scorecard (10 being the max)

All in all, a better overall score than for Pasión y Poder:

Ana Leticia: 10/10

Perfect. She will be in that boring white room with only her delusions for company and a major scar on her face to see in the window's reflection. The sum total of her sins was a clear indication that death would have been far too easy a fate for her.

Evaristo Guerra 10/10

Brilliant move on the writers' part. The puppetmaster lost control over his own faculties and everything else while outliving all his descendants. And brilliantly played.

Iñaki Najera 10/10

He didn't deserve to die because of how he had been manipulated. He saw his puppetmistress fow what she was, recovered his humanity, and accepted his fate like a man.

Orlando 9/10

Exterminated like the rat that he was and disposed of like trash. The one thing lacking is that it might still look to others that he just disappeared.

Soledad: 8/10

Definitely excessive. Two years ago Mexico doubled the minimum prison sentence for kidnapping from 20 to 40 years in an example like this. I suppose that Soledad is also paying for telling Evaristo to kill Marcelo. Something could have been edited out that would better explain why Leonor and the two good girls didn't get her out. Grrrr.

Julieta 8/10

I'm not sure that her sins merited the torture imposed by Facundo in sending the laptop with Iñaki's confession on it. The loss of Daniel, her husband's fortune, and her position in society was enough. She seemed on her way to a guilt trip about her two older sons and knowing that Iñaki killed Daniel would be enough to send her to the manicomio. Was that also edited out?

Edmundo 8/10

Death was too easy for him, but at least he can't mess up anyone's lives or finances anymore. The suicide in front of Ramiro spoke to his callousness because Ramiro would never be able to forget this sight.

Isidro 8/10

Some kind of public humiliation would have been better. However, since his original intention was to use Ana Lucia like a blow-up doll and keep her locked up and isolated, I'll take it. I'll accept that his end was brought about by a young man disgusted with his perverse pursuit of a young woman he wasn't entitled to.

Valentin 7/10

He can't hurt anyone else, but it would have been better if the man who had faked paralysis for five years ended up quadriplegic, which would have been ironic and so much worse than what he was pretending.

Facundo 7/10

He can't hurt anyone else and at least Marcelo wasn't the one who shot him. However, I would have preferred him to have been humiliated prior to death.

Clawdia 4/10

Her sins didn't merit death. She should have had the chance to straighten up and fly right. This was also too great a loss for Nerina.

Mariano 4/10

His sins didn't merit his fate unless he's being punished for having been in such denial or for actually having sex with Ana Leticia the one time when she had him at gun- and knife-point. We may never know unless the answer is in the stuff on Univision's cutting room floor.

thank you so much Julie and Ria for this recap and for all your excellent retellings. Thanks also to all our wonderful recapper. I appreciate the time and effort that goes into recapping.

And....may I just say yikes and ...QTH. THey sure fit a lot of anvils into that finale. The scene of ANaletmefinallyfallovertheedge holding the gun on hadcuffed, barechested TIo and smarming on him...exremely disturbing and uncomfortable to watch. Going from that scene to ANaletme in that odd bikini and Tio swimming was weird. I thought that he had decided to give in to his obsessed sobrina. Ick. Then, the crash. And now Analetmekissthisglass is in a padded room alone with her crazy self. Are the writers punishing Tio for his womanizing ways by putting him in that wheelchair?

Ernestina's death makes us mindful of Longfellow's advice "Make haste. The golden moments fly." She and ROdrigo could have had a happy life together. Now, they never will.

The scene of INaki and the little boy was sweet. His flashback ofbhis own childhood made me sad. I am glad that he called his dad. I would like to see this actor in a galan role.

The little actor fixated on the tablet was so true to life. Technology and kids..do not get me started . i walked into my classroom yesterday , and all my students were on their cellphones. Before cellphones, they used to talk to each other.

BTW here is the article about legal sentencing for kidnapping in Mexico.

And here is the Beethoven concerto link. For whatever reason this didn't let me post these before.

Also, someone mentioned earlier - they really must have chopped some important stuff, because I saw the on-set photos of Angelique in two different wedding dresses. All the other characters are also dressed in white, which they were not for Ana Laura's wedding. You can see the pics here from People en Espanol: http://www.peopleenespanol.com/article/angelique-boyer-se-viste-de-novia-por-partida-doble-para-grabar-el-final-de-tres-veces-ana

We saw Ana Laura's wedding in the episode, obviously. In these pics, it almost looks like the other bride is...Ana Leticia (based on the way her makeup is done)? What do you guys think this is all about? Do you think AnaLu and Marcelo actually had a wedding but it was just cut in the interest of time by the Univision machete?

Wow. The makeup does look like she's Ana Leticia, but I have to say that I don't see Ana Leticia wearing that dress. She would wear something much more revealing.

Can't wait to find out how much was cut. The finale of Pasión y Poder was missing about 20 minutes for no good reason and it missed a whole Karmageddon. Why would Univision cut a wedding scene? Would that be over the church wedding issue? I've said before that Marcelo could file for a Catholic annulment with no issues and marry Ana Lucia in the church.

Univision, you really screwed up.

Thanks, Julie and Ria. I am going to miss reading your recaps. Always fun and wit along with the deets. Ladies, you are terrific untanglers of this rushed gran final. And screenshots too? Sweet!

I knew Iñaki had redemption in him. At first, I thought springing Nachito in the final show was most foul, but the writers did foreshadow that Ana Leticia couldn’ve been pregnant and done something nutso. Very satisfying to see Iñaki seeing himself in the little boy and finally calling his dad for help.

Hmmm, so Ana Leticia went to all the trouble of secretly gestating the baby, giving birth, and paying someone to take care of him in an expensive hideaway for several years for the purpose of someday using him as insurance? Okay.

ITA with the kudos for the actor playing Mariano. Excellent performance last night. Those were tough scenes to watch.

On whether Ana Leticia forced Tío to do her, nope. It was no more than the forced kiss. Guy viewers chime in, but I don’t think male sexual functioning works that way. Fear, dread, and shock are not turn-ons, but limp inducers.

Tío is understandably still haunted. Unlike Ana Laura and Ana Leticia, he feels responsible for his loca sobrina going off the rails all these years without him ever knowing and trying to take corrective action like a good parent would've. He blamed himself for Jenny's murder, so I can see him ramming the car thinking he deserved to die along with Ana Leticia. Viri seems content though and is not a woman who would be with a man because he’s safe, so I’m thinking Tío can get creative.

Glad Maribel survived. Makes Javier more likely to mend fences with his brother.

Ana Lu and Marcelo will surely marry when they figure out the best legal situation for handling Ana Leticia's legal situation with Nachito. Don't know how it's handled in Mexico, but in the U.S. a previously unstable parent can regain rights when proven stable.

UA..I just read a whole discussion on annulment on a site for another tv show. People responded on how long, difficult the process of annulment is for Catholics although some changes seem to have been made in that process. Marriage is a sacrament the Catholic Church.

Susanlynn- I was just having a conversation with a friend this weekend about Catholic Church annulments. It is NOT an easy thing, and he ended up not doing it before his second marriage to my friend. They got married in the Episcopal Church.

Thanks Julie & Ria! Perfect fluidity of both your styles, another pair couldn't have come together better. Diana pretty much already listed my favorite lines.

Ana Le, dressed as Ana Laura to get through the security, shows up at the mansion to begin her master destruction plan. (Ok so they did have security, so why didn't they double take when the real Ana Laura passed thru again. In fact, who gave them the ok to leave before Mariano came?).

Why didn't Tio let her shoot herself? He's ok attempting to kill them both in a car wreck, but not allow her to do self-inflicted suicide?

I remember for Karmageddon, I expected that 1/2 her face would be disfigured, but now that I think of it, there's no point. It's not like in Rubi where she has access to mirrors. AnaLet wasn't obsessed with her beauty. She was obsessed with being unique, and having all the attention/money. She is separated from all those things, so the scar was unnecessary.

I can see how killing Abue would force Leonor to take her rightful place as a matriarch in the family, but it seemed she was warming up to being called "Tia", so why kill Abue? I guess it's like Anon207 said, some innocents are lost for no real reason. I agree, it gives more realism.

And now I'm going to clarify some of your comments....

UrbanThere were scenes where Ana Leticia wore the same outfit twice, so I believe for time & efficiency sake, they shot more than 1 scene in a day so she wouldn't have to keep changing. It's likely they had them do the same thing w/ the other characters. Lol, I love the kitchens too! Also agree about the editing and THE UGLY. Her attraction stemmed from her lack of attention from anyone but him. She had no other father figure other than a womanizer. He taught her to mistake his love as being unique only to her, while he disrespects other woman. His disregard for women taught her to use women for her own benefit as well.

Anon207 and tofie They didn't have sex. It was just the one kiss. And the rest was just her in Fantasy Land. There was no time to have sex with him b/c the cops were coming. After that kiss, she questions if he'll do anything she asks. He responds "whatever you want". Then she says "I want us to leave, you and me. Because without you, I'll go crazy". Later we see the SWAT enter, but her & Tio are gone.

Stephanie That photo was from Ana Leticia's wedding with Marcelo. That was seen in the flashback when freakishly stares at Tio while she kisses her groom.

Mati I thought the same thing, his sons are always blonde & wear gafas :P Agree that keeping the pregnancy was out of character. I think she wanted to keep a piece of her dead hubby, but w/o taking on any responsibility for him.

Jarifa Same, TWD was pretty brutal & I felt just as sick by TVA. I feel like television has become gratuitous with creating shock value for no reason other than that they can. That was my favorite line too. Her & Inaki always gave the best zingers in this TN.

Anna, thanks for the addressing the wedding pics. For a brief moment, I thought they might be from Ana Leticia's wedding to Marcelo (I do think it's the same dress we saw in flashbacks) - but isn't it odd that Viridiana would be in that photo too, all dressed in white with the other wedding guests? She didn't know the family at that point in time, so I just find it all pretty confusing!

Right, the pictures that were released were of Ana LUCIA as a bride and everyone was in white. Ramiro wore a gray jacket when he married Ana Laura. So I don't know if that was to fake everyone out for the finale or if there actually was a Marcelo/Ana Lucia wedding and Univision cut that out. I'm not Catholic so I don't know about the annulment process but Ana Lucia didn't seem like the type that would have needed to be married in the church; a civil wedding would've been just fine.

If Tio can get creative with Viri in his diminished state, why couldn't Ana Leticia have gotten creative with Tio in his state of shock and fear? She did something traumatic enough to him (beyond kissing IMO) that he decided the only way out was to crash his car at a high rate of speed to kill the both of them. His crash was premeditated; I don't think he did all of that over a kiss.

I don't think Ana Leticia has a hope or a prayer of retaining any form of custody over Nachito. Ana Leticia is not just unstable, she's a murderess. She killed Jennifer, Claudia & Ernestina, ordered a hit on Marcelo, was an accomplice in the murder of Isidro, was an accomplice in the kidnapping of Ramiro & Ana Laura, tried to kill Ana Laura and Leonor and tried to kill Ana Lucia twice. Even if she was to become stable, she'd still be in prison for the rest of her life. Even if the Mexican courts didn't strip her of her legal rights to the boy, he has a father who wants to and is able to take care of him, 2 aunts and a great aunt and great uncle. I don't think Ana Leticia will ever be able to exercise her rights over Nachito.

Ana Leticia had a short sleeve bare midriff dress on when she married Marcelo; the bride in the pictures floating around had on a long sleeved dress. Ana Laura's dress was short sleeved as well.

It seems so many scenes were cut out :( Angelique Boyer had posted this video of how they filmed a scene between Ana Lucia and Ana Laura. It appears to be a convo between them when Ana Lucia comes to help Llora prepare for the wedding:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BK-EJKsD_b-/

However, the version we saw on Univision cut this out entirely :(. Who knows what information that scene had!

-Angel

Mariano tried to kill them because he had just learned that Ana Leticia had murdered or tried to murder three women just because they were involved with him, and tried to kill her sisters, all so that she could have him and his love to herself. He realized he was her sick trigger to do harm to others, and he was willing to also take himself out of the picture, if it meant putting a stop to her.

Anon207, I think you're right about the wedding dresses. Although, something tells me that Ana Lucia wouldn't look like that on her wedding day because the makeup, hair and dress don't seem to be her style. But then again, I don't know what the other option would be. So I guess all we can do at this point is chalk it all up to another Univision cut!

vivi..yes, someone on the Compuserve Outlander site asked if Claire and Jamie could get an annulment and someone responded about her own situation. Her husband had been married before , and it took a long time to get his first marriage annulled. If seems the vow does apply ..." I give you my body that we may be one; I give you my spirit till out life shall be done." For reals. I will have to ask my son-in-law who is Catholic and has a Master's in Theology along with an MBA.

Maybe there was some sort of happy alternate ending, where they had a quadrupedal wedding-- Marcelo and Lucia, Ramiro and Laura, Rodrigo and Erni, and Marcelo and Viri.

One of the pics, in front of the mirror, is from when Laura tried on dresses in the wedding boutique a while back. But the ones where everyone is in white is the mystery, and not anything we saw on our screens.

Oops-- Mariano and Viri.

Ana Let confessed to killing for him: First Gina, then Jennifer, then Claudia. She also tied up his nieces & threatened to kill them, and even herself. I think that's plenty to drive someone to cause a car wreck. I think he was more in control once he had some kind of "weapon" in his possession. But me personally, I wouldn't have tried to stop her from shooting herself. She's a manipulator, so who knows if her threats were even legit. She was using a butter knife, for peace sake. (Btw I know it's pete's sake, I like saying peace :P)

Anna Nabil: I thought the Gran Final was OUT OF WHACK!

Too many loose ends & the non-stop incompetence of the good guys trying to bring down psycho Ana Let.

Vivi You beat me to the explanation for the long sleeved dress haha. And the ones in white are a mystery. They may have done a wedding for Ernestina & Rodrigo, but decided to kill her off instead.

Steve What I can't understand is how UNI not only fudged the editing, but also the captions. I feel like they hired some new trainees & told them to practice on a show that was ending. It was very untidy, but still dramatic & worth the watch. It only makes me wonder how much better it could've been if left in the proper hands.

No time to comment other than to thank the fabulous recappers for this show. I've enjoyed it immensely. I had such high hopes for PyP and those were dashed pretty quickly. I loved the crazy AnaLet and the whole triplet thing. I loved the whole AnaLet/Mariano story line. Sick but totally entertaining.

Ok these were the spoiler shots my sister showed me weeks ago & it depicts the different wedding gowns. There are 2 long sleeved ones. One that is Ana Laura trying on gowns at the boutique (very bottom). And the one up top which looks like Ana Leticia. It could've been used for an alternate ending, maybe Ana Let pretending to be Ana Lucia. Viridiana & Rodrigo's presence waives any indication that this was a second dress for Ana Leticia's 1st wedding. So yes, it's definitely a cut scene. Maybe for the better, b/c that definitely looks like Ana Leticia.

Sorry if someone else has said this - I tried to read all of the comments this morning but these are coming fast and furious and may have missed something.

I think they could not have Marcelo and AnaLucia marry for a couple of reasons. I said before that the relationship seems new, given the identity issues with Marcelo and Santiago, and certainly it might seem a little unseemly to have a wedding after all the tragedy that has occurred. But more than that,we would once again have the issue of natural parents vs. surrogate parents, a central theme of this novela, in play. Not all blood-related parents have been good (e.g., Facundo ), but some of the surrogates have not been prizes either (e.g., Soledad). If AnaLucia becomes the parent of little Ignacio she is in effect the surrogate for her sister, who has expressed nothing but contempt for her. (AnaLaura would be a more credible surrogate in that she and AnaLeticia were close throughout their lives, even if the relationship was abusive on AnaLe's part.) Leaving it unresolved means that Ignacio is not set up in an explicit way for issues about his insane mother later on. We in Viewerville have been assured that Ignacio will have his good-guy father and Marcelo's beloved surrogate mother Remedies in his life and that Marcelo and AnaLucia love each other. Enough for now.

Jarifa - You are so right about that line of AnaLeticia's as she threatened her sisters.

Anna - How did your mother like the finale?

Mati Oh I love your take on that. I think you're right. AnaLu shouldn't have a say in Little Nachito, I think the best mother figure in this TN is as you said "Remedios". She's the only one who is untainted/untraumatized & will give Nachito the same stability she gave Santi.

My mother was unsettled during Tio's scenes, but she thought alot of it was hilarious. Her favorites were when Ana Leticia called Ana Laura a "gata barata" (cheap low-life) and when Ana Let called her madness & the gun a bad combo. She also liked Angelique's butt lol. We all tilted our heads when she wore that thong bikini, & started discussing maybe getting back on a treadmill :P

Thank you, Ria, for the rest of the recap (the majority!) and for adding those great screen shots. I couldn't get to sleep last night, so I ended up watching the whole thing, after which... I REALLY couldn't get to sleep.

"Mariano runs in: who did this?? (Good one, Mariano!)" Argh.

I didn't like it. It was rushed and choppy. It was also disturbing and depressing. Why did Abuela have to die? Why did Mariano have to end up in a wheelchair?? Why did AnaLet have to live??? That means AnaLu and Marcelo can't marry in a church. (Assuming he was able to divorce AnaLet, they can still get a civil marriage, which will give both of them all the legal rights, so that's fine... but I kinda expect everyone to get a church wedding in a TN.)

Urban: I was thinking press-on nails too. Anything else would have wrecked her real nails.

Regarding the Ana Lucia wedding photos, I wonder if a different ending was planned and partially shot (Ana Leticia dies, AnaLu gets church-married), then they decided to change it?? Either that, or AnaLu had a fancy civil wedding that Uni inexplicably didn't want us to see. Neither explanation makes much sense.

Yes the other wedding pic was with AnaLet, from the news I have heard from the audience were there when they were shooting that scene, it was supposed to be a dream. Ramiro was dreaming that AnaLet was dressed as his bride and wanted to kill him on his wedding day.

Oh! That's a great explanation, 12:58. Thanks.

Yes. Thanks Anon 12:58. That also explains why Ramiro's tie is different-- indicating that he's the groom in the all-white wedding.

Anon 12:58, thanks so much for that info! Makes a lot of sense now.

Well, Ramiro was on some pretty good drugs while he was locked up in the cabin! We did get a glimpse of one of his dream when Ana Laura, dressed in black, marries Valentin and ignores Ramiro crying for her in his wheelchair.

Even though the finale was a bit rushed I still found lots to enjoy. The whole AnaLet and Mariano ending was great. Watching Mariano's face throughout was amazing. The actor really brought it at the end. I hated that he ended up in a wheelchair but he was willing to die to escape from anything more happening with his "hija". Poor AnaLet was still fantasizing of him even in the psych ward.

Thought Inaki got off a bit light. It never came out that he murdered Isidro. Glad he did the right thing. It didn't look like Tadeo or Javi knew the full extent of his crimes, murdering Daniel.

So Claw died and Maribel lived. When Mari acted so sweet to hot Javi I thought that she must have bumped her head on the fall and gained some sense.

Glad we got AnaLaura and Ram's wedding. Surprised there wasn't more worry that AnaLet was going to mar it. Surprised she didn't try but I guess she knew she had to hold out if her end game war Mariano.

I wish Ernie hadn't died. That was painful.

So happy Sole stayed in jail especially the way she got her back up when Marcelo visited. And I noticed she asked Ernie, in the prior episode, for forgiveness but never apologized for her crimes.

AnaLucia and Marcelo have a lot to work out, his new integrated self, a son, AnaLet's crimes....I'm not surprised there wasn't a 2nd wedding. Too soon after all they have been through.

Sorry...have been out of the loop due to family issues, but wanted to find out everybody's reactions to the finale. I kept think I must have missed shows because there were so many puzzling developments in the last week. And yes, the captions on Hulu are coordinated, but alas, in English. Still captions in Spanish that don't jibe with what's being spoken aren't helpful either.

The recapping team on this was superb...over the top wonderful. You all deserve kudos and oodles of praise.

My two favorite observations from this one are:

"we are beginning to smell redemption cooking on the nearby stove" and

the quip that Julieta appeared to have been living behind the bus station for a while.

They certainly did go all out in making her look haggard.

Rushed choppy ending for sure. And bummed about Abuela dying also. But at least she got to see Ana Lucia before her death. So she can rest in peace.

Totally freaked out by the Tio/Ana Leticia scene. But slightly distracted by noticing Tio's nice six-pack. It isn't just his blue eyes that make him yummy.
And to continue in this shallow manner, enjoyed having one last glimpse of Iñaki in that tight black bathing suit. What great musculature. Swoon-worthy.

Fantastic recappers and witty, opinionated commenters made this show a great ride, in spite of the poor editing. Thanks to one and all.

We definitely got a feast of beefcake in this series!

I agree that Mariano was looking to take out Ana Leticia for the good of everyone who was left. I don't think he could have lived with himself if this had failed. It also occurred to me that he couldn't have gone to the manicomio and looked at Ana Leticia through the glass if he had allowed her to use him sexually. That would have put him in the giggle jacket.

LMBO JudyB, with that perspective, you totally turned a really gloomy episode into something I'm willing to rewatch!

I also liked the funny jab Remedios digs into Chana once Marcelo is reunited w/ his son. "Now don't go ruining this moment with your psychic stuff" lol.

Maybe you guys are burnt out, but if you're looking to squeeze a bit more fun out of this TN, I posted a Telenovelas Awards on Saturday. It's been updated today w/ last night's clips. You can vote til Wednesday & I'll post the winners on Thursday".

Have a good rest of your day, guys. Loved all your varying insights. You've all been a joy to hang out with :)

BTW, I think that this dress would be more to Ana Lucia's taste.

Urban I agree. I just reviewed the transcript again. After the kiss, he asks her "what's going to happen now" and she says "whatever you want, b/c after that kiss I can die happy." Then she tells him that they're leaving, the 2 of them.

Heading out now, but will check back in to read more of the discussion :)

Judyb, mi Amiga. I am so glad to "see" you here. I was worried about your absence. I have been spending out good thoughts for you and yours. (NOw, if I could just know that Carlos is somewhere out there in cyberspace. Since we know that he is a fan of CYnthia's , I hope that he will be on the patio serving cocktails for VIno.)

Yes, that look of horror on Tio's handsome face was unnerving . The barechest and handcuffs might have pushed that scene a wee bit too far.

And INaki..yes...a fine looking hombre who falls for the bad girl. That tale never ends well on novelas or in real life.

Yet beauty trumps everything in both.

Beauty was Ana Leticia's only asset, in her own mind. This is pathetic but she was intelligent enough to know that to many men that is all that matters.

I'm going to watch it tonight on Hulu, but Univison posted snippets of what was going on during the airing in their website. Therefore, I saw certain things that happened. I am actually happy with Inaki's ending. To me,he wasn't much of bad guy. He was just crazy for a woman who didn't love him back and very ambitious.I always had a soft spot for him, but he had to pay for his deeds, even if i wanted him to get away with it. Tio Mariano did not deserve being in a wheelchair. It was never his plan to get rid of Violentin, at least in the manner Gina tried to. However, it seemed realistic in some way. He was a millionare and a womanizer and when you mix that together you get a guy who can never settle down and/or cheats on his wife/ partner . The only way that stops that behavior in a man is loss of money or a health problem. I've seen it happen to many men. So, there you have it Mariano has no choice ,but to rely on Viridiana's love. As for Ana leticia, that woman was sick. I kind of wanted to feel sorry for her, when we found she wasn't really the responsible one when she was a child, but God she's horrible.
As for how the plotline was wrapped up, it could have been better. There were so many story lines with potential. The reason i started watching this novela was because it was produced by Angelli Nesma and the side stories are always better or at least more entertaining than the main plot. Also, they were all intertwined, like the side plots were never out of subject like Salvador Mejia does his novelas. I do think she reused some of her plotlines and endings from her previous stories in this novela.
Example 1: Violentin wasn't crippled and was stranded in a wheelchair. Same thing happened with Graciela in LQLVMR. I was waiting for someone to throw him out of the wheelchair the same way Dimitrio did with his mom.
Example 2: Tio Mariano and Viridiana vs. Dimitrio and Finita. Although Finita and Viri are completely different personalities, Finita ended up getting some dignity towards the end and tried helping the main characters and families. Viri does too. Both couples were put together at the end and it was really rushed. You were just like what?
Example 3: We have the bad guy who really isn't bad, but misunderstood or just stuck in an awkward place: Inaki vs. Adolfito ( a.k.a el Alacaran)
Example 4: Some stupid plot twist where a character isn't dead and they just stick that person down our throats because it makes the story better. Most likely towards the end. Milagro's Mom ( Monika Sanchez in Al Diablo Con Los Guapos) , one of the Araiza brothers in Abismo De Pasion, Pedro Medina in LQLVMR, and now we have Ana Leticia and marcelo's kid.
I'm sorry I analyzed it too much.

sheislaughter: Those are great parallels between this show and Robo. You are so right. I loved it when Dmitri walked across the couch to throw Grazi out of her chair!

I was glad we didn't have a Pedro Medina like character in this one. His character in Robo was so over-the-top awful and won every battle until the last episode. I think TVA had a much better balance.

I still can't get over the scene. Here's the meme to that scene from LQLVMR https://goo.gl/images/5DUHhz
I am too glad. I thought Evaristo was going to be Pedro 2.0 , but Angelli went back to giving us a more "normal " telenovela. If Inaki would have have been in Robo, he would have died. Heck, one of the triplets would have died.

Lol that's too funny. That scene and the scene in the same episode with Adofito and Finita, when she dreams he visits her and says "olvidame". Really well done. I found Robo really hard to stick with bec the bad guys kept losing, in really horrific ways.

Dear Judy,

So glad you came back for the finale! You and your marvelous wit and noteworthy observations have been sorely missed.

"And to continue in this shallow manner, enjoyed having one last glimpse of Iñaki in that tight black bathing suit. What great musculature". To which I can only sigh deeply and shake my head in vigorous agreement. I must say, the vision of Inaki has been a very pleasant one I've conjured up more than once since this began.

He is truly galan worthy.

Diana

Thank you Julie and Ria for putting this amazing recap together! I love the screen shots and I am so grateful you were able to keep up with the terrible editing.

Thank you to everyone for clearing up those wedding pictures. A dream sequence makes a lot of sense. That's too bad though, I was hoping there was a cut scene of Ana Lu and Marcelo's wedding.

Urban You made such an excellent point in the did they or didn't they debate with Tio and AnaLet. Had anything other than the kiss happened, Tio would not have been able to visit AnaLet and say to Viri that "she will always be his niece." One would think he would be visiting a shrink 5 times a week instead to get over the trauma if something has happened between them. I agree the actor did an incredible job, I cringed and felt so bad for him when AnaLet kissed him, he seemed on the verge of tears. I believe the kiss alone was enough for Mariano to be ok with ending both their lives.

I will miss the recaps and comments since I don't intend to tune in for Vino but I often say that and end up here anyway. I will especially miss the eye candy too! How lucky were we that we got 3 hot galanes? Marcelo, Ramiro and Inaki (semi-galan), loved the triple love scene between the couples, lol that sounds weird but you all know what I mean.

Judyb and Diana....now, "tight black bathing suit" can take its place right beside Sweet William Levy's. "wet, white pants." #thanksnovelamaven p.s. Donde est WIlliam?

We got Marcelo, Inaki and Mariano all shirtless in this episode. Well done director!

Is there a way to see the Mexican version online or in the US? If they have a longer run, according to Boyer, and will have more details, I would like to catch some of it.

Hi Ria, enjoyed the recap. I have been watching the tn on and off but never guite got into it. But the last hour and a half revealed some things. Analeticia was one sick puppy. Pervertedly so. No wondet her umcle had the sick look on his face before he
Tried to stop the train with his small car, he was gonna stop that she devil if it meant takin himself out with her. So glad he did survive. Unfortunately so did the she devil.
Isn't it ironic, she to was stopped by a car crash, and she killed her parents in a carcrash. What a sick twisted little girl that grew up to be an even sicker perverted young
Woman. Shes ended up right where she was
Suppose to be. In the loony bin for the insane
Ccriminally twisted. The girl was dead inside

Im glad that guy she was with grew a heart & decided to do the right thing. To bad one of the ladys she poisoned didn't survive, or was
It he grandmother?
I thought analet would have died in tha crash
But I suppoes they wanted to get the point accross that some one like her was really nuts to do the things she did and not even brake a swet of thought about. Completely
Dead towards her own child. Yeah she was
Terminally crazy. Glad its over. Peace for
Those left.

Susanlynn, yes, another great line. P.S. I miss William too!

Just an observation I meant to make earlier...Pedro Moreno wore what I take to be his wedding band for most of this. In the last few episodes (including the post interview), it was no where to be seen.

Strange that he wore it faithfully and then it seemed to disappear. I would have thought if "they" mandated he needed to remove it, it would have been done initially.

Diana

How In the world could facundo cause the
Parents accident, when that little demon kid
Grabbed the wheel? Are you talkin about the
Parents of the three anas when they were
Tiny whiny kids in the back seat of that car?
That accident? Facundo caused that, I would
Have liked to have seen that myself. The grandma died, didn't like that. She survived her sons death and she dies at the hand of her evil grand Spawn's hand too, not fair. O well, on to the next tn.

Nina- Facundo bragged about causing the accident, but they never revealed to us how. All three triplets have the same memory of AnaLet causing the accident. This was a plot hole left by the writers, or on Uni's cutting room floor.

So many of this family's problems were caused by the men in charge (Erni's dad and husband) deciding their female spawn weren't good enough to handle the family's empire, and passing it on to their son in laws-- ticking off all kinds of people along the way and spawning decades-long vendettas. These guys sucked at making friends and influencing people (Mariano included). I hope AnaLu and Laura have learned from this, and handle their own business, leaving the menfolk (Tio, Ram, Marcelo) out of it.

Carvivlie---

Once the Mexican broadcast finishes we might be able to get some answers, but since we got this TN first it's hard to say where we could possibly find anything online at the moment.

Thank you Julie and Ria for the recap. The CCs were terrible and I'll have to watch again on Hulu. I complained that they compressed 2 minutes of someone talking into one sentence but told us, "baby crying." Julie, you made sense of that difficult mish-mash of flash-backs. I was reminded fondly of having worked together in the past. And Ria, I loved the line about smelling redemption cooking on a nearby stove.

Well, I've loved other finales more, but I've also hated other finales more. I was happy with Inanki's anvil, and even with Ana Leticia's. I never thought Soledad wrong to the degree you guys did, but she seemed content with her fate. I just love Ana Bertha Espin, and think she should be canonized at the end of every novela. (I even loved her as the selfish aunt in LQNPA.) I loved Evaristo even though he was a bad guy, and hated Facundo with the rest of you. Carlos de la Mota was more interesting than I've ever seen him before- it was hard to pin down how I felt about Valentin until the end. Ramiro paralyzed in bed was truly horrifying. I wish the Santiago/Marcelo thing had been a bit more fleshed out. I agree with comments that Boyer made me think the 3 women were played by 3 different actresses. I especially liked her portrayal of Ana Leticia which made me feel sorry for her at times, although in the end she went way over the top and even I had to give up any hope of redemption. Ana Laura only bothered me at the very beginning and I enjoyed her transformation at the end. I suppose Ana Lucia was meant to be the heroine, but I enjoyed watching the other two women more.

I want to thank
All the recappers I owe you my sanity regarding this wonderful TN with a lousy cc especially el fin CCS. I can only understand Spanish when I read them and additionally thanks for the English captions. My hat off to AB ! Superb acting! I once read that the two sisters Anna lu and Anna Llora were gifted, accomplished as in being an a rope acrobat and pianist,, whereas Ana Leticia had no talent, but for me the greatest thing she did was to give us Nachito! It's so strange that this morning I was watching Laura and the featured guest were dealing with this he same plot as tres veces Ana. A 17 year old was confronting her adoptive parents who gave her love, education and treating her as their child, accused them of robbing her from her real mother. The real mother approached her then she believed her. The anticlimax of the whole show, out came on stage the real mother who claimed that her daughter was taken away from her by her father and given to this woman who was their maid that was claiming to be the real mother! Weird and stranger than fiction indeed!

So I'm rewatching TVA from the beginning on Hulu (I miss it already!) and I'm enjoying noticing some things. In the first episode, AnaLu reads Santiago's palm and says that he's married, but no kids. Ha! And she insists she's never wrong about those things ;) Makes it a bit more obvious that Nachito was not in the cards for the writers until much, much later

Good catch, Stephanie.

I'll say it for the last time: Ana Leticia was responsible for the car accident. The idea of Facundo and Evaristo having been so was a retcon against the possibility of revealing that Ana Leticia was carrying the "guilt" of this her whole life and adding more evil to the male villains. It was total BS. All they had to do was what happened in the finale, which was that Facundo was willing to kill Marcelo. He was no better than Edmundo.

Thanks for the lovely recaps tonight and throughout.
Its even more obvious now that our recappers are just as, or more talented than the writers. It seems they didn't pace themselves at all and then they totally rushed the end. Dern, I wanted to savor the conclusion over a spread of a week THEN the Gran Finale.

Stephanie, I remember that palm reading Ana Lu gave him and no mention of a child. She had been taught by Chana and didn't practice much. But what about Chana??? She was the expert and she didn't see that either, so writers forgot to write in a child in all that card fortune telling.

The actors were all great. Angelique put out a super impressive acting performance. She is true artist and beautiful too. She made the novela what it was,

Enjoyed the patio, sincere thanks to all of you.

This has not been my favorite TN of all time, but the reason I was attracted to it in the first place was because it sounded like it would be a train wreck and I was curious how a producer with such a good reputation was going to pull it off with a straight face.

I mean:

- triplets (one of whom is evil)
- not just one, but two characters who are thought dead, but are actually alive
- not just one, but two cases of amnesia
- multiple personality/dissociative identity disorder

And that was just the stuff we knew about ahead of time. I wondered how it would not be a freakshow. But for the most part, it wasn't, in spite of all the many additional piled-on cliches. I still think there were a lot of missed opportunities by not making it a comedy, but it pretty much worked out just fine. I have to admit that it kept us guessing!

However, it was still sublimely ridiculous, and our daily reality checks were a lot of fun. I wouldn't have had any fun with this TN at all if it hadn't been for the patio here at Caray!

Julie- Very true! In the hands of someone like Mejia, this would have been a full-blown circus. That it didn't turn into that, deserves a pat on the back to the producer and writers. But they missed many good opportunities to give us a richer, heartier story, and let it lag and drag too much at the beginning and in the middle. The thing that most impressed me was Angie Boyer. I was not expecting her to pull off the three roles, but despite a few bobbles here and there, she did it and did it well. She has really grown as an actress and now I have respect for both her work ethic and her talent. Bravo to her!

Thanks Ria and Julie for your excellent recapping. I am finally getting around to reading the recaps for the last couple episodes since I was out of town and did not have much internet access. I was able to watch these last two episodes and was pretty disappointed with all the jumping around from here to there and back and forth.

I was hoping for more weddings and hoping we would see Ana Lu and Marcelo married, as well as Ernestina and Rodrigo. Ernestina's death was not something I was expecting at all. I had thought that Ana MeMeMe would have been the one who would have died tragically or she would have killed herself.

Loved all the actors in this show, Angelique Boyer just did a spectacular job. She is an ultra talented actress.

I wonder when they will be showing this in Mexico and if these last episodes will not be edited so severely. I would like to see the version they show in Mexico and see how that all pans out. I have a few cable channels that are Mexican channels I can sign up for.

Are you all watching the new show, Vino Amor? I was on the plane flying home last night so I missed it. So I am going to have to watch on Hulu later today.

Anyway, thanks to ALL the recappers who participated here. I loved reading the daily comments from everyone else too. You all made it such a fun time!

BIG THANKS!!! Recaps are even better than TVA. Thanks for remarkable job, and huge effort.

Cynthia, I didn't watch Vino and wasn't planning to, but after looking at Urban's recap and reading the comments, I'm tempted to check it out.

I figure it can't hurt to look.

When it comes to identicals there is only so much you can do with a comedy and I think that works when said identicals are 12 or younger. Unless both or all three are criminals there is no motive I can think of for them to try to fool other people about their identities when they are adults and to do this to fool people they're dating carries a major Ick Factor.

The twins in MCET were amusing because they were 8 years old and very handsome little boys. Their victim was their evil stepmother and most of their pranks were funny. However, their relatives and their nanny could tell them apart, which is realistic.

The comedy I was thinking of referred mostly to the frequent near-misses. Many of them were so ludicrous, they seemed out of place in a drama. They wouldn't have been out of place in a comedy.

True, but since we started out with one of the triplets showing evidence of pure evil this would never have worked as a comedy.

I'd rather see dramas anyway. Most comedy novelas are loaded with slang I don't get and can't remember after the next few episodes and sometimes dialogue that comes in way too fast. Also, humor doesn't always translate between cultures.

Nice to see additional comments here. Overall, aside from the go-slow midpoint and then rush-rush ending, this was a good TN. Great cast and some unforgettable moments. I'd definitely watch it again.

It's not you. They're mostly NOT funny, particularly the Juan Osorio ones. The only ones I've enjoyed have been POR ELLA SOY EVA and QUE POBRES TAN RICOS.

Hi everyone, had a super busy couple of days and just tuning in now! Will read all of the comments tomorrow, but thanks all for tuning in. And a giant thank you to my co-recapper Julie for her super clever and entertaining recap. We had an awesome patio for this series.

I meant to check out Vino, but I am a.so behind on Color and need to carch up. More tomorrow!

There is also black (dark) comedy. I don't know if that would work for a telenovela, but I'd like to see someone try. (Osorio doesn't count. Mixing misery with slapstick does not count as black comedy in my book.))

If you have the time and want to listen to a wide range of songs, Please check out Sirvent on Spotify or YouTube. I'm so amazed at this guy..

Stephanie, and how was Ramiro the catalyst for getting AnLuisa and Santiago/Marcelo back together as Chan claimed???
That never made any sense to me. And yes, listening to the soundtrack for the umpteenth time makes me what to kick it up again after three I gave going now.

Chana and her fortune telling. Or Eva's informative?

What ever happened to her telling Ramiro that he would be the catalyst for getting AnnLuisa and Santiago/Marcelo back? When did that happen?

Just listening to the TVA soundtrack now for the umpteenth time and will definitely watch the novela again playing close attention to the soundtrack.

Are Comments locked??

Hi, comments aren't locked, but when a post gets old all comments come to the author and me, the blog mom, for moderation. I've been away for a week.

TVA is one of the 3 best TNs ever.
