Hi y'all, I've got the recap for tonight. Hopefully I'll get it up here before I go to bed, if not, it will be up in the morning.

News flash --- I won the lottery with this one. To quote Majo: Oh My God!

SILVANA - Part 1 of I don't know how many

BODUS INTERRUPTUS!!! RUNAWAY BRIDE!!! OMG (as Majo would say) This was the biggie we’ve all been waiting for, and on Thanksgiving night, of all nights. If you recorded it, be sure you watch it.
I used the English subtitles, so if the convos don’t match what you heard, blame Telemundo. Please.
Some scenes are lumped together and not necessarily in the order they were broadcast.

We open with AJ the D(!!!) planting doubt in Angie’s mind, telling her that Jorge will dump her for another girl, just like he dumped Margarita for her. Angie tells him he is just insecure because his oldest daughter is getting married and he’s worried the middle one will leave the nest. More convo but Angie really demonstrates mature, sane, and intelligent thinking. IOW, she does not buy into AJ’s manipulation.

Stella and the stooges --- FFWD>>> Really. Trust me on this.
She tries to return the dog to the pet shop. Sales girl says this is not the dog they sold her because it has an extra toe. (QTH???) Sales girl shows Stella the pedigree papers, which clarify how many toes the dog has.(really?) She tells Stella this dog she is returning is a mixed breed. Stella is all ‘what? it’s a street dog?’ Salesgirl says purebreds get stolen all the time (that much is true) and replaced with fakes (don’t know about that, but juarever).

The dog poo hits the fan. Stella is not a happy camper. She goes home and Dom is so busted. Much tontería follows. Dom explains how “Javito 1.0” ate too much food and died, so he bought “Javito 2.0” to replace because he didn’t want Stella to be sad. (Well, finally the truth is out!!!) Stella says he has to pay her back for the money she spent on Jav 1.0. Noogies all around. Really. Noogies. Just FFWD>>> and get to the good stuff two paragraphs down . Later, Stella tells Dom that he is Jav 2.0’s father, and that once he has paid her back for the price of the dog (…. just HOW is it Dom’s fault that Jav 1.0 died? unless he left the dog food out where the dog could get into it…), then he will pay her child support and also have to train Jav 2.0. Whatevs. Just FFWD>>>.

Don B. is getting dressed while Margarita spews her usual inane narcissistic venom about the fresas. FFWD>>>> She asks Don B to promise her he will not get involved in a relationship with Trini. (Well, I’d tell Don B. the same thing, but for a different reason.)
 

SILVANA - Part 2

At Chez Chivis, everyone is dressed and ready to go to the wedding. Chivis looks smashing in the most gorgeous dress that is form-fitted to her body. Angie has on an age-appropriate dress and looks very lovely. Trini’s dress is very nice (but the beading design looks a lot like a top I just bought from Land’s End). Jorge arrives for Angie and his hair is up in a “man bun.” His words, not mine. AJ is not thrilled but he is polite.

Majo is upstairs getting dressed, whining that her feet are swollen from drinking too much last night, and her shoes are tight. (Wah.) There is a very sweet convo between Chivis and Majo. Majo is acting nervous, tells Chivis she wants to look at her when she walks down the aisle. Um…. Chivis says you should be looking at Andres. I’m too nervous, can I look at you, Ma? Majo says she will miss Chivis yelling at her, living at home, etc. She is homesick already. Chivis says that gets better, especially once you have kids.

After everyone leaves to go to the church, AJ goes upstairs and there is a really sweet convo between him and Majo. He has a wedding gift for her, a rather large piece of jewelry. Majo is surprised, says ‘OMG it looks expensive and what with all your debt problems ….’ AJ says that doesn’t matter, tells her to keep it between them, it’s their little secret, while she pins it to the front of her wedding dress. (I’m not sure how that will stay a secret when all the world will see it, but I’m wearing my telenovela beanie hat).

Cut to Casa Gallardo. Manuel is getting dressed in a nice navy blazer with khaki pants and a hideous tie.
Lucha comes in and basically tells him he is too informal for the wedding, that he needs to wear the pants that match the blazer (a suit) and change out that tie for heavens sake. (well, she was a lot nicer about the tie than that). THEN …. Lucha hands Manuel a note and asks him to give it to Andres, but make sure nobody sees him give it to Andres. (ruh-roh… this does not bode well)

Majo and AJ go outside to the car that will drive them to the wedding. At the same moment, Vicente steps outside on the balcony and sees Majo, she turns and sees Cente, palpable sad, pained looks pass between them. My heart is breaking. Esteban (of Stella & Esteban fame) is their chauffer.
(BTW, by this time Majo’s hair looks terrible, as if she took a nap, and I’m wondering if she’ll get it tidied up before the wedding)


While driving to the church, AJ notices how visibly sad and quiet Majo is. He asks her what’s wrong. She says nerves (like she has been saying all day to everyone). AJ tells her he will support her, no matter what the problem or mistake is. Majo says (dun,,, dun,,, DUNNNN!!!!) , I think I’m not in love with Andres. (finally! better late than never!)


Then we see a sweet scene between Manuel & Chivis, complimenting each other on their outfits. Manuel tells Chivis she looks like a mermaid(aaawwwww). Chivis tells Manel his suit is blue. (duh…) It matches his eyes. * * * * *

Manuel does an awesome job of covertly passing Lucha’s note to Andres . It says …..

SILVANA - Part 3 of 3

The bitter kittens Cente & Lucha are hunkered down at home, eating cold, stale pizza and channel surfing. There is some boring meerkat documentary on TV that made me miss Meerkat Manor. They keep channel surfing and converse, STTE of:
L: They’ll probably be divorced within the year
V: You’re horrible. You’ll probably be traveling all over the world. I’ll probably have a new girl and she cannot already have had a boyfriend. (anyone wonder why?)

Next, there is a weird scene of what looks like an office with a big flat panel TV and the Mercedes carrying the bride is on the TV screen. We’re hearing the next scene’s convo, but it’s on this TV and the whole thing is really weird. It lasts approx. 5 seconds. Any takes on this from the Patio???

The car carrying the bride, which is obviously a Mercedes Benz with the grill logo blacked out, parks maybe a half block away from the church. Everyone out front is wondering why it is parked there. Laura says brides always take their time. (little does she know)

Inside the car, AJ is really nice and tells Majo that she does not have to go thru with the wedding. (If he only knew why!!!)She says she cannot jilt poor Andres, she cannot do this to him (all that guilt!).
AJ says ‘I would do this and more, to make sure you’re happy. ‘ He tells her to go home, have a hot bath, and he’ll handle this.

Then AJ tells Esteban to take Majo home, gets out of the car, walks toward the crowd in front of the church, and tells Andres there will be no wedding. All hell breaks loose. Andres’ parents are NOT happy campers. Laura is reeeally mad because Majo has vacillated so many times, and did not have the courage to be honest with them. Chivis steps in to prevent a brawl between AJ and Andres’ parents.

Next, there is a weird, interesting conversation on the ride back to Chez Chivis. And the back ground music reminds me of the music in the movie Life As We Know It. Just sayin …..

While Esteban is driving Majo back home, he gets very chatty with her. He tells Majo ‘congratulations, at least you stopped the wedding before it was too late. ‘ He tells her he almost got married once, to a novia loca (Stella?) but it never got as far as a wedding dress, guest list, ceremony, etc. Majo has a WTF? look on her face. Esteban tells her she’s too young and pretty to be tied down yet, or STTE.
Majo is still freaking out that she actually jilted Andres at the altar.

E: there are a lot of angry people back there
M: do you realize THIS is the last thing I want to think about? Besides, I don’t know you well enough to be discussing this
E: yeah, but I’m the only one here in this car, so if you want to vent …. or I’ll shut up if you want me to.
M: You might could understand that I’m going through a terrible time of it.
E: just wait till you have to show your face to all those people, that’s when things will really get heated
M: (has an “oh sh!t” look on her face)

In the final scene, Andres runs to his car and tears out of the parking lot to points unknown (as of right now.)
 

Sin Senos si hay Paraiso (thursday) 86

(it's nice they are throwing in some flashbacks to tie the show together before the end)

the doc leaves and Chuky makes his way through the Daniela/Marcial dna test, NEGATIVE, 99.9% sure the 2 samples are not related.

Yesica affirms to Daniela that Marcial IS her papa, but he plotted to kill you Daniela says, and I will kill him when I find him Yesica says.

the vote is 4 to 4 waiting for Vanessa, everyone agrees to go with her decision, she wants Yesica to feel what she is now feeling, the loss of a daughter, so turn Yesica over to the DEA, then kill Daniela. (and Daniel wants to be in on the talks with the DEA in order to clear his name)

Yesica and Daniela are going through Anibal's papers, see a note from Celia, they will call her, but first she has Daniela call Munever, the city manager but he doesn't know where Anibal is, Daniela tells HIM to be acting Mayor, she has some signed papers authorizing it, and Yesica whips them up.

Anibal wants to sleep with Celia, but my son is here, they do anyway, and sleep in, and later talk about her taking his place, the city manager is on Yesica's payroll, Anibal doesn't trust him.

Titi and Gato eat and talk business, they decide to raid Daniela's place, a moment of thought for Titi since she is Marcial's daughter.

Calvo has men now and is ready, Yesica says she wants to kill Hernan first, Capitan says he should have his location from his phone soon.

Paola and Martina eat breakfast, Martina is sad, Titi? yes, will he come back? maybe I could go looking for him, maybe at the hospital.

back at the finca, Alberio and Hilda will go see Marcial, Hernan will go along, Cata stays behind to find a better hiding place for the money.

Daniel gives his friend the DNA sample from the grave, he wants him to run it against anyone who might be missing, and something about checking up on his mom at the home (where she no longer is)

Daniela has dropped off the paperwork making the city manager the interim mayor and when Celia arrives he fires her, but she has paperwork of her own and puts Anibal on the phone, she kicks him out of HER office, he calls Daniela, ah, so she must know where Anibal is, Yesica sends Daniela to go find out.

Cata can't find the money, calls Hernan, ah but he left his phone behind, she calls Alberio and then talks to Hernan, he gives her better directions to the money, which she finds this time and sends it to the bottom of a pond in a bag with rocks.

Capitan has located Hernan's phone at the finca, Yesica sends Calvo and his new guys.

the doc finally arrives and Hilda gets permission to see Marcial, and meets Chuky along the way who tells her Marcial wanted me to kill him, Hilda thinks her news will bring him back to life.

Wow, doris, you hit the jackpot with the Bodus Interruptus, and you did a marvellous job! Your recap was complete and delightful. I loved your commentary, such as "(Well, I’d tell Don B. the same thing, but for a different reason.)." Yup, me too! But between Margarita and Trini, he's stuck either way.

I enjoyed "The dog poo hits the fan" (your wording, not the the scene itself). Actually, it's either Dom or Poncho who was responsible for the death of Javito I. IIRC, one of them fed Javito chicken with the bones, and he choked, I think. I remember one of the Stooges berating the other for not realizing that the bones might be a problem, but I don't remember who did what.

I'm glad you mentioned that bizarre business with the TV showing the car carrying Majo to the wedding. I don't have a clue what the car was doing on TV. A production glitch?

Speaking of the car, though I usually recognize a Mercedes, I didn't this time, and I was surprised that Roberto had lent AJ the use of what looked to be a rather ordinary sedan. Your identifying it as a Mercedes answers my question, but why did they mask the identifying grill logo? Did Telemundo think we should imagine that it's a Kia (who at least in the past was a sponsor)?

Anyway, congrats on a great recap. I'm hoping perhaps it will be the first of many (yeah, I know, some people are never satisfied :-) ).

thank you so much Doris for stepping in and writing a wonderful recap, I love your take on things!

I think it was Dom that fed the dog chicken wings, and thus led to him getting a replacement and the coverup, interesting that the extra toe signaled the dog was genetically impure.

it was kind of nice how AJ stepped in and stopped the wedding, when no one else would, it seems he puts his family first, if we forget the part where he left them penniless.

and what's with Andres, does he really not have a clue?

Silvana. Excellent recap, doris! I think you're ready to be a regular. Wow! AJ actually did something good. Maybe he really does sincerely love his daughters. As I recall too, Dom (or Poncho or both) was responsible for feeding the original Javo chicken bones. I thought Stella was surprisingly generous and kind in deciding to keep the pseudo Javo and in being sympathetic about his background as a street dog. Makes one wonder a little bit about her background, though. And Dom really is responsible for the financial damages the replacement dog caused. I presume his efforts to rehab Javo will be the source of some future silly 3 stooges episodes. I wonder if Esteban's reappearance was a one-off or if it's the start of a plot thread? About the wedding car on the tv screen--my money is on a production error. Anyway, so far I haven't seen any realismo magico in this novela--with the possible exception of some of the fantasy scenes. And I'm such a language nerd that I know that boda is a phonetic development of the Latin word vota, which means vows. The boda is the ceremony where the couple make their vows to each other in front of both families--and later in front of a Christian priest as well. I too wonder where Andres will fetch up and whether he's about to wreck that van.
 

Doris--May I join the chorus of Huzzahs on your debut and urge you to be a regular too? You have a knack. Glad the subtitles were working, but you put your own spin on things. Enjoyed reading it very much.

The suspense last night kept building because Majo kept getting closer and closer to the church--in a wedding dress--with her father, who might have forced her to go through with it, for all we know, since he desperately needs a new money faucet to turn on (through Majo). Do I have to say I'm glad AJD manned up to help his daughter out of a tricky situation? Deb--you got all the right sentiments in. (And yes, I noticed that Majo's hair was all messed up. It looked nice while she was talking to her mother. I didn't notice when it got messy. She's so fastidious about her looks I guess it was a signal to me that she was not in any way going to walk up the aisle looking like a hurricane just blew her hair out of place.

Chivis and Manuel looked splendid. Sorry, I just can't abide Lupita anymore. Can't wait till tonight!!!

Also, in this episode we finally saw Andres' father, which reminded the audience, I think, that by encouraging MJ not to go through with the wedding, AJ was risking that the father would reinstate his lawsuit. That doesn't make up for his abandoning his family, but, still, it shows he's not a total baddie. And I loved both deb's "if we forget the part where he left them penniless" and Juanita's "other than that, Mrs. Lincoln" remarks.

I rewound the episode and the TV that had the weird sequence with the wedding car on the TV. It was the Gallardo's TV; same wall & colors with the TV shot of the meerkat. That was just odd.

Thank you, everyone, for refreshing my memory on how Javito 1.0 died. And that now makes sense why Stella is making Dom reimburse her for the dog. Like most of the 3 Stooges scenes, I had tried to forget it.

I'm pretty sure that a car was a Mercedes. However, even some Hyundais look like Bentleys or Rolls Royces to me, lately. I'm pretty sure Andres' SUV is a Mercedes, too. Not many companies make that boxy square look these days, and I've seen some of those on the roads. The grill logos are often (usually?) blacked out on vehicles in Telerisa telenovelas, too. Maybe it is an industry standard?

Anita - I'm glad I'm not the only one tired of Lupita. Her shrill voice does not help.

deb - I agree. AJ truly loves and cherishes his daughters, but he is not above using them as pawns to get what he wants, too.

I guess we find out tonight where Andres drove off to.

That shot of the car driving on the Gallardo's TV screen was very odd. That's a bizarre editing mistake to make, or maybe Telemundo is trying to get creative with their transitions between scenes.

Very interested to see what Andres does next. (I think it's pretty clear Majo will go to Chente.) I have been amazed by how steadfast Andres has been about marrying Majo when it was clear she was having doubts, and when he realized his feelings for Lucha were strong and growing. At least with Majo we saw her vacillating and waffling. But Andres has just been barrelling headlong into marriage with her. I just don't get it, for some many reasons.

I agree with J that Telemundo was just trying to be artsy with their scene transition by having the wedding car appear on Chente and Lucha's tv screen.

Wonderful recap, and comments from all. Maybe the scene on the tv was symbolic...no matter what Vicente and Lucha switched on tv, all they could really see in their minds' eye was what was going on re the wedding..? Lol maybe not. Probably a glitch.
I noticed Majo's grown-out roots and unwashed hair at the bachelorette party... Definitely not like any bride I've ever known!

THE DEVIL’S LITTLE SISTER is hot on Anibal tail [and he is thinking about is how to get some tail .butter wouldn’t melt in his lying mouth] what a pig! he had the nerve, temerity to appoint his lover as mayor interim!! Problem? Yeah, Yessica just gave that job to her crony! This is a dumb move.
They left the captain’s house, however, his wife hauled assed! Smart move, Diabla would hold them hostage. Daniela is acting like she did not know her dad was planning to kill her mom! Very diplomatic!

The mother [Paoula?] to daughter [cha-cha-puta- in- training] talk about her status in the hierarchy of trophy wives, has left Martina, depressed.
Too damn bad, but this girl/ Martina is traitorous> so- no- pity- for -her! I hope she doesn’t get her whole family murdered behind the kidnapping of Daniela [remember she is the no#1 suspect when Daniela went missing]?!!?

Poor Daniel’s mom, when the drivers dropped her off at the curb, I was amazed, but not surprised!! Daniel has no clue, his mom is wandering around, demented in the barrio! But he is standing strong about being prepared to fight!
Daniela as a juvenile conviction, would not be sentenced to a lot of time, incarceration wise. But a narco diva in training, still she is a viper, that’s a good point, Daniel! The DEA option is good, but who is going to be the HITMAN.
The issue of money between her parents and friends, and pay-to play= Pagando- Plata for hitman as a viable considerations , keeps coming out on the table and Cata gets a guilty look and her thieving ass just ought to !
The vote and veto was hilarious! This was crazy to the cray –cray! These poor people are not killers, but they need to get it together, because this is no plan!!
Chucky and marcial, and who the baby daddy DNA test, GOD! HOW LONG ARE THEY going to drag this out?

Back at city hall the showdown of the documents, which will all come down to signatures and ink under infra-red light .but good bye girlfriend tag your dead!! So Mr. I am –in- hiding-for-my-life’ calls his job! Really?!?! Keep her at the office, we are on the way!!

Daniela tells her mom about seeing Dario and Catha in the barrio, and tells her to ‘GET- A-GRIP!!
Alberta and Hilda visit Marcial, but they aren’t immediate family, so park it! , the man could have been dead for all the thought they put into his wellbeing!! He is still in critical care or is he ready to be discharged and release?! What’s the deal!! Friends in need!!
Devil’s best friend has found the poor farming campo’s retreat and plans attack for Friday night!!

Well, I heard Monday is a three hour CLOSING! 3 HOURS, WHY LORD!! This is going to be a slaughter because this kind of bum rush of the story line means we will have the story, smashed, crushed, cut and abbreviate and its guts killed why oh why ?

Forgot to say that I agree that Chivis looks smashing in her dress, and ITA about how annoying Lupita is. I don't know why they just didn't hire a younger actress instead of having a teenager exaggerate her acting to appear younger.
 

Sin Senos si hay Paraiso (friday) 87

Marcial looks out of it, Hilda wonders if he will be able to hear her, but when she tells him Yesica is alive, his eyes pop open, she wants his help to contact the DEA, he gives her 2 passwords.

Gato and Titi meet with Barrios, Yesica's main buyer who can't meet his needs, he wants one ton/month, Titi says he can do it.

Celia talks to Anibal, who warns her when Yesica finds out she will send Daniela, and here she is, and when he talks to Daniela on the phone he tells her, try to find me and I will tell everyone Yesica is alive, Daniela is busy making funny faces.

Marcial wants the tubes pulled out of him but the nurse won't because he isn't eating, he explains he wants food, lot's of it.

before Hilda leaves he has something for her, the DNA test, this proves Daniela is not his daughter and gives her clear run to the inheritance, take this to my attorney.

Titi explains to Barrios, you give us the money to get the merc, you get a 20% cut, Barrios says if things don't work out I'll have to kill you.

Yesica's guys arrive at the finca, take pictures and send them to the Capitan who shows them to Yesica and Calvo, wait isn't that Cata ?? that means her parents are there too, Calvo wants to send lots of guys and get them all, Yesica gives him 2 hours.

Titi is closing the deal, Barrios will only give him half the money he asked for to see how it goes, Martina arrives and Barrios orders 6 girls to close the deal 3 for Gato, 3 for foe Titi, he wants her for himself, (Titi and Martina are making like they don't know each other)

Belen tells Cata her story, she fell in love with a guy that was ambitious, his business was more important, he took her to a famous beach, but her luggage was full of cocaine, she got caught, but he escaped.

Cata wants to know if she wants revenge, and they have a long talk, (this was really interesting- revenge versus divine justice) no, revenge is a vicious cycle, that never brings happiness, it is food for the demons, she would thank him for the lesson he taught her, it's better to leave justice in god's hands.

they close the deal and Titi is alone with Martina, he explains those others need women to feel powerful, I just need money and power, he wants to focus on business, she says he'll regret it.

Hilda wonders if they want the dirty money, yes Alberio says, without money Yesica is weak, Hernan calls Cata with the news, they both agree Yesica's empire is crumbling around her.

Daniela comes home and explains, Anibal says leave him alone or he'll tell everything he knows about them, they agree that he does know a lot about them, then Yesica tells her about going after Hernan, keep him alive right? Daniela asks, he won't get away this time even if I have to keep him in a cage...

Silvana. I think Manuel's warning to Vicente to be careful in his relationship with MJ was his way of saying: "This telenovela's not over yet! Not by a long shot!" Loved Stella's calling Genesis "Dieresis." Of course, Stella is a poetic theorist--not! But I'll bet one of the writer studied Spanish versification. :)

Silvana sin Lana – Friday, November 25 – Capítulo 88, part 1/3

Repeat scene of Andres jumping in his car and driving off.

Chatterbox and highly inappropriate Steve asks Majo why she backed out of the wedding. He bets it was because of problems in the bedroom. He advises her to pruebe el material (test the material) beforehand the next time she’s planning to get married. Majo asks him to be quiet for the rest of the drive home.

Dom agrees to be Javito’s father. He also tells Stella that Poncho never wanted to lie to her about the dog, but Dom forced him to. She’s going to make his favorite dish, lasagna, for him to apologize.

Lucha can’t stop thinking about Andres. He’s probably already forgotten about her. She points out that at least Majo loves Vicente. Andres doesn’t even pay attention to her. Vicente thinks that’s better. At least she’ll be able to forget him easier. They continue commiserating with each other when there’s a knock on the door. Lucha tells him to get it. Vicente asks who’s the oldest. Lucha replies “you.” Vicente asks who’s the boss. Lucha replies “me.” Vicente relents and answers the door. It’s Majo, still in her wedding dress.

“What are you doing here, Maria Jose?” Vicente asks. “I didn’t get married” Majo says taking the veil out of her hair. She hugs him and repeats I love you, I love you, I love you. Lucha looks on stunned. She coughs to get their attention and ask about Andres. Debe estar hecho polvo (He must be devastated). Majo doesn’t answer and Lucha runs off. Vicente asks Majo what happened. She kisses him before responding that she couldn’t do it because of him. She’s in love with him. In between kisses, she explains that her father helped her realize she couldn’t go through with it. Vicente still can’t believe she’s there. He jokes that they owe it to his dance during her bachelorette party. She says it’s because of the first time he drove her to the university, the salsa lessons, his kisses at the salsodromo, his text messages, her first time with him, his persistence. He promises to make her the happiest woman in the world. She tells him they have to take it slowly because she feels bad for what she did to Andres. Pero estoy aquí y no me casé! (But I’m here and I didn’t get married!) she yells again. Vicente laughs and jokes that he didn’t save her any pizza.

Lucha leaves a voicemail for Andres since he won’t answer his phone.

The Villaseñors return home. Chivis goes upstairs to find Majo. AJ immediately gets whisky for a whining Trini. Angie comments that it’s good Majo backed out since it was obvious she wasn’t in love with Andres. Lupita didn’t know. She asks AJ if Majo told him anything. Before he answers, Chivis comes downstairs and tells them that Majo is not there. AJ calls Steve to verify that he dropped her off at home. AJ wonders where she could be. He notices Chivis’ and Angie’s pensive faces. Just then Majo opens the door. She immediately walks over to AJ and hugs him, thanking him for his support. She would have never been able to do it without him. She owes him her happiness. He’s the best father in the world.

Manuel, Jorge, and Pedro return home from the non-wedding. They make Pedro go upstairs so Lucha and Vicente can tell them how they found out what happened. Lucha announces that Majo was there, looking for Vicente. Manuel wants to know what she told him. “That she did it for me!” Vicente is overly excited. Manuel tries to calm him down. He warns him that Majo is confused and he should be careful about being involved with a woman who just left her fiancé at the altar. Lucha asks about Andres. They didn’t even see him since he left so quickly. Manuel also warns Lucha about being involved with a man who was just stood up at the altar. Jorge tells him to stop being so serious. Both Vicente and Lucha are winners in this, but they’d better make sure to not let Majo and Andres run into each other at the house. Lucha has had enough of the boys and goes in the kitchen to text Andres.

 

Silvana sin Lana – Friday, November 25 – Capítulo 88, part 2/3

Andres downs shots of tequila alone in a bar. He has several missed calls and messages on his phone. He listens to Lucha’s voicemail, and drinks another shot.

The lasagna is ready but Poncho has plans with Genesis. Stella is not happy that he would rather spend time with “Telequinesis”. Dom also thinks that Poncho should be more grateful since Stella is trying to make up for the ice cube incident. Poncho claims to be in love with Genesis, but Stella doesn’t believe it. Poncho decides to leave as Stella is yelling after him to go be with his “Diéresis” and she will never cook for him again.

Majo explains to everyone what happened in the car. She asks for their forgiveness. Chivis tells her that she did nothing wrong. Majo wonders if she should try to talk to Andres. AJ tells her that she will have time for that later and she can tell them all why she decided not to get married then too. For now, she can just be with her family. He notices that Lupita is no longer there. Angie says that she went to the bakery with Pedrito.

Stella is worried that she will always be alone since everyone else is in love and getting married but her. She asks Dom if he’ll marry her if she’s still single in the future. Dom agrees but points out that no one will believe them and they’ll be el hazmerreír (the laughingstock) of the block. Stella gets more and more upset about being alone. Dom advises her to look at Poncho in a different way. He is a good person and he has suffered a lot for her. She almost looks like she’s starting to think about it.

Poncho and Genesis go door to door to talk to people about how bad alcohol is. Poncho bangs on a door and yells a bit too much. A bucket of water gets dumped on their heads from the balcony. Genesis tries to cover her chest now that her shirt is see-through. Poncho gets angry and she calms him down, saying she’ll have to put up with him for the rest of her life when they get married, mi enojoncito (my little grouch). Speaking of marriage, Poncho does want to marry her, but in order for him to take such a big step in his life, she needs to give him something that means a lot to him. Orar (Praying)? she asks. Well, ok, if you want… Poncho replies, hearing a final l. Orar? Genesis says again, enunciating the final r. Uh, no, it’s something else, Poncho responds.

Lupita and Pedrito try to figure out what happened with the wedding. They both hate that the adults don’t tell them anything, and wish they had younger siblings so they wouldn’t be the babies of the family. Lupita tells Pedrito that she thinks Majo is in love with Vicente.

Vicente dances in his room. Manuel warns him that it was one thing for Majo to call off the wedding, but it’s a whole other issue whether she’ll stay with Vicente or not. Love in real life is not like in the movies or fairytales. Love in real life is more complicated.

Chivis telsl AJ that she is happy that Majo confided in him. She and Angie had told her several times that she didn’t seem in love with Andres, but she refused to admit it. Majo was fragile when AJ left and Andres probably helped create a balance. AJ starts reminiscing about when Angie and Lupita were born, and how beautiful Chivis was at their wedding. He wants to have their family back. She reminds him they are all together, but their marriage is still over. AJ will never accept it. Chivis thanks him for being a great father and walks away before AJ can put his hand on hers.

Poncho asks Genesis what she thinks about his idea. She’s afraid that he’ll think bad of her, it’s a sin, they should wait until they’re married, etc. Poncho gets into creepy mode when he tells her she’d do it if she really loved him. She agrees to think about it. [Since they never actually come right out and say what Poncho wants them to do, I’m going to assume this conversation is not really about sex.]

Manuel is still worried that Vicente will end up hurt porque el que duda una vez, duda dos y tres (because whoever doubts once, doubts two and three times). He doesn’t want him get hurt like Andres. Vicente protests that things are much different with himself. At least he realizes when someone is not in love with him. Andres was the naïve one who should have accepted it long ago, but he kept forgiving things he shouldn’t have. Especially after what he found out, he should have stepped aside… What did he find out, Manuel interrupts. Vicente admits that Majo lost her virginity to him.

Manuel is a bit stunned. He wants to know when it happened, and he knows that it wasn’t Vicente’s first time. Vicente says it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that it was beautiful and that’s when he realized he was in love with Majo. Manuel says it’s different for the woman, especially someone brought up in a conservative family. He advises Vicente to ir con calma (go easy) since things have always been complicated with that family, even more now with AJ. He assumes that no one in the family knows about it. Vicente shakes his head no. Manuel puts his hand on his face. Just wait until they find out.

Majo lies on her bed. Angie joins her and asks how she is. Majo feels bad and ashamed but also relieved. Angie wonders how their father could tell she didn’t want to get married. He just saw it on her face. He knows them better than they think. Angie asks if she told him the truth – that she’s in love with Vicente.

Vicente doesn’t want anyone else to find out, especially not AJ. Manuel’s not going to tell anyone. Lucha comes in to ask if he has any idea where Andres is. Should she try calling his house? Except she doesn’t have the number, so could he talk to Chivis? Manuel refuses to get involved.

At the bakery, Margarita laughs about Majo standing Andres up and assumes she ran straight to Vicente. Don Benito feels bad about it and hopes something like that doesn’t happen to him. Juanito wonders if he’s thinking about getting married again. Margarita gets upsets and repeats that she will never forgive him if he gets together with Trini. After Margarita leaves, Juanito tells Don Benito that Trini will have to win over his granddaughter in order to marry him.

Andres finally answers Lucha’s call and says he’s in Europe. He won’t tell her where he really is and hangs up. Lucha grabs her bag while Andres motions for more shots and puts his head on the bar.

Immm Andres, it has been about two hours maximum since the non-wedding. Even if you had left the church & stepped onto Concorde, which then immediately took off, you'd still be over the mid Atlantic! 🙄

J - Thank you for the recap! So much happened in this episode, too!

I don't think Andres is really in Europe but he wishes he was there. I'm worried about whether he will try to drive home, in his condition, or call Uber.

The scene where Lucha and Vicente argued over who would get the door was so cute.... and so realistic. ;-)

When AJ brought Trini her whiskey, it was interesting that Angie tried to grab her glass and prevent her from drinking it. So even Angie realizees Trini might have a drinking problem.

Manuel probably grew 100 new grey hairs last night, after talking with Lucha and Chente. Bless his heart, raising young adults is not easy. He gave them very good advice without being a controlling/helicopter parent.

Yeah, Chente and Majo better take things slow. Once AJ finds out she loves Chente, he will probably try to find a way for them to move away from Vicente and Manuel.

Poncho just wants sex with Genesis, in any way, shape, form, or fashion he can get it.
 

Silvana. Excellent and very complete recap, J. Yep, Andres is so drunk that the bartender should have cut him off several drinks ago. Just as well that he's dealing with his disappointment and humiliation in such a cliched way rather than attempting suicide or wrecking his car. Not only does Poncho want sex with Genesis, I think he's having second thoughts about her. Let's hope that under the circumstances they break it off before anything happens. (Maybe d. Jonas walking in on them before they can get any clothing off?)

Thanks, J, for another terrific recap. And congratulations on finally getting an episode in which something actually happens.

I confess that I spent a good part of the episode fearful that Andrés will wind up in a dreadful car crash--first because he sped off in anger, and later because he drank an absurd amount of tequila and was drunk as a loon. I kept waiting for the bartender to tell him he'd had enough, but.... And since he's still got to get home from the bar, there's still a very good chance that he'll have an accident unless he's smart enough to read doris's comment and call Uber. Or Lyft. Or get the irresponsible bartender to drive him home.

I found Dom's advice to Stella rather amusing. Yes, he does suggest that she should look at Poncho in a different light, but he first rattles off a long list of negatives--Poncho isn't rich, or smart, or good-looking, or interesting, or athletic, or a pilot, or a brain surgeon, or or or BUT...he's a good person. Hmmm...

J, I'm glad you described Poncho as "in creepy mode" when he was trying to persuade Génesis to have sex with him. I almost barfed when he claimed she'd do it if she really loved him.

I'm still wondering why the writers brought Steve back into the novela. Is he going to continue to have a role (if so, what?)?

The brooch that AJ gave MaJo before the wedding looks just like a rhinestone crown button thing that I saw in the fabric store today.

I'm pretty sure Andres is in the bar of the restaurant where he and Lucha recently had lunch, so I wouldn't be surprised if she finds him quickly.

I'm kind of annoyed that Majo is making it seem like AJ did something extraordinary and special, when 1) Chivis and Angie have been telling her she doesn't have to marry Andres if she doesn't love him, for MONTHS, and 2) any fool in the car with her would have seen the look on her face and realized she didn't want to marry Andres. It didn't take a genius or someone with super intuition, or a super "Dadito".

I also think that Majo should have been mature enough to tell Andres to his face. She should have had AJ bring Andres to the car, and broken the news to him herself, instead of driving off and letting her daddy break up with her fiance for her. She's an immature coward.

"She's an immature coward.". Yes, and that's only the beginning of the list. At some point, Majo will probably have to stand up to AJ by defending her love for Vicente. After all, AJ told her he would support her in any problem or mistake, and those words might come back to bite him in the keister. . In the meantime, hopefully Vicente will wake up and move on from her.

Finally got through 3 episodes and am caught up. Thanks so much J and Doris for the fine recaps. And, yes, Doris, you are a natural! I also hope to see more recaps from you in the future. You won the prize with the bodus interruptus episode. I'm really surprised they aired that one on Thanksgiving.

Well, I was touched by Majo coming straight to Vicente and admitting how much she loved him. I hope Lucha is able to find Andrés and comfort him. Yes, it certainly is odd that he was ready to marry her having obvious feelings for Lucha.

I also wondered what the re-introduction of Esteban means. I didn't even catch on right away that it was him, playing chess with the guy that AJD knows so well. Wonder where that story line is going.

It's hard to comment when you've watched three! Can't remember what was in which one!

Anyway, Thanksgiving was great. My granddaughter usually invites friends so we had 14 for dinner. One of her male friends who has been VERY unlucky in love in recent years brought a stunner of a new girlfriend. She's in training to be a deputy sheriff. Her fantastic sense of humor made her fit right in immediately. The big joke was that she's his second girlfriend named Nicole. The first made Stella appear sane and well balanced. So we were all braced to never mention this when she introduced herself as Nicole #2 and we fell out laughing.

I was doing those short summaries in case anyone wanted to get caught up for the final, I hope you don't feel obligated to recap the 3 hour final, that's quite a bite, I plan to sit back and enjoy.

this going to be interesting because the "divine justice" thingy is already in place, Yesica has AIDs, Daniela is a dummy who is going to get stepped on by Gato and Titi, who won't quit until they arrive at the VIP section in hell, will Martina and her girls also arrive there?

and also none of the good guys have killed as yet, except Hernan (do we forgive him?) but the bad guys are still spitting venom, and it's not going to be pretty till someone puts a stop to it.

and Telemundo keeps saying there is something big coming that will impact the show.

as far as a third book in the trilogy, it seems to be a generational thingy, so I'll be looking to see if Cata, Daniela, and Martina get preggers, Vale is optional.

oh, and I guess those scenes with Carmen Villalobos (Cata la grande) were done new for this show.

ok here's my take on AJ, at some point when he was away he decided to come back and reclaim his family and as he puts it, return everything to the way it was.

now in his conversation with Angie we could see that he was getting antsy about losing his girls, so when Majo indicated she wasn't sure about getting married, well, that fit right into his plans of keeping the family together (I think there will be a different story when she mentions Vicente)

also I noticed that instead of allowing his girls to be responsible for their actions, he steps right in and takes care of things, as he pretty much put an end to MaJo/Andres.

novelera - LOL about the Nicole #1 and Nicole #2! Same thing happened to me! I was dating a guy, that relationship fizzled, and the next guy had the same name. We've been married >39 years and we still laugh over ___#1 and hubby is ___#2.
