SILVANA SIN LANA – LUNES – Parte 1 de 2

¡ÚltimosCapítulos!

We again see Manuel being very cold toward Chivis in his office at the terminal. He tells her to fight her own battles with Stella. Chivis bitterly tells him he must have rushed to Stella’s side to tell her about their breakup since she knew about it. He tells her that what he said to Stella is part of his private life and he doesn’t have to give her explanations. She tells him she’s going to stop working at the terminal.

Angie is unreasonable for one of the very few times in the novela. It stems from Margarita having thanked Jorge for something. Angie was angry he didn’t tell her about his having saved Margarita from an attack by Benji.

Manuel continues his cold, clipped words. He tells Chivis she was the one who made the decision not to see him any more. Chivis: “It wasn’t easy, believe me.” Manuel: “Do you think it was easy for me? Me acurruqué con mis hijos.” (I needed to snuggle up with my children.) He shows her the pain he feels. He says she now reminds him of the woman who ran into his truck.

Poncho tells Jonas that Dom is going to be his best man. Jonas isn’t pleased and asks why it can’t be one of the sheep who’s part of the congregation. Poncho insists on Dom. Génesis, sweet as always, tells her father she’s OK with Dom. Poncho says that Dom is his family and, if Dom isn’t the best man, there will be no wedding!

I thought Andrés and Lucha had already said goodbye, but he shows up for one of those telenovela dinners in which everyone talks and no one really eats. They tease each other some. He thanks her for being his friend. He tells her that, when Majo left him at the altar in his penguin suit, he was in bad shape. They tell each other how much they’ll miss each other. He gives her pañuelos de tela (cloth handkerchiefs?? Really?). She gives him a passionate kiss to take with him.

Vicente shows up at the mansion. Majo runs outside and is completely freaked out. She tells him he has to leave. Dadito shows up. [Not much time left for this to play out, but Vicente needs to tell Majo to acknowledge him or else he’s kicking her to the curb.] AJ doesn’t see that Majo was outside with Vicente.

Fat Toad has Esteban grab Vicente’s arms and pull them behind his back. He calls him pescadorcito and threatens him. At first, when AJ asks him what he’s doing, he says something about visiting his daughter. Vicente asks why he doesn’t recognize him; he was his neighbor when he got out of jail! [Point: Chente!] Vicente insults Esteban, and Esteban tells the boss to call the cops.

Inside the house Chivis tells Majo, who is very worried, that the best thing that could happen is that AJ learns the truth about she and Vicente.

Chivis tells Majo and Angie that, while she and Manuel fell in love, she’s not going to fight for that relationship. She and Manuel are finished. She doesn’t want any man in her life, neither their father who she stopped loving nor Manuel who she hopes to stop loving in the future. She tells them that she understood that their father was SO opposed to their relationships with Vicente and Jorge because he was jealous of Manuel. And, if she broke that off, he’d leave the girls alone.

SILVANA SIN LANA – LUNES – Parte 2 de 2

Vicente tells AJ that he came to drop off some paperwork that Chivis needed and that had to do with her work in the terminal. Fat Toad slams Vicente against the truck and tells him never to come back. When Vicente drives off, AJ tells Esteban (after giving him some extra money) to follow Vicente and scare him so he won’t return.

Manuel and Lucha comfort each other. She says that losing a great love hurts.

Dom is thrilled to find out he’s the best man. Stella says she’s happy for him, but there’s sort of an awkward moment. After she leaves the room, Dom jumps up and down saying he could feel the sexual tension.

When Majo calls Vicente while he’s driving home, he doesn’t tell her about the altercation with dadito.

Chivis precedes AJ into her ginormous bedroom at the mansion. She is chewing him out about telling Angie she had to choose between Jorge and her father. He replies that he had to set limits for the girls. Chivis says that Angie was prepared to forgive him for everything he’d done and look how he’s repaying that trust. He replies that it’s for her own good. Chivis: “If you really want Angie to forget all about you, then keep up the threats. But then don’t bother seeking her out later. This would be the second abandonment, and she won’t forgive you twice.”

Trini has taken an Uber to the bakery. She’s wearing an apron and bustling around the bakery cleaning things! She ends up charging a customer $5 for a loaf of bread that had been $3.50.

Chivis tells AJ that everything is over between she and Manuel and that he should leave her children alone. She also tells him he shouldn’t go to Manuel questioning him because that would be pathetic. She says she only wants to arrange her own life. He tells her she doesn’t need to work; she has him. [She somehow resists saying what I would have said: that the cops may come to take him away in handcuffs any day now.]

Chivis tells AJ it’s ok for him to support his children, but she doesn’t need that from him. He tells her he loves her. He hopes to get the family united again. He tells her he’s going to get her back also and he tries to kiss her. Slap!

Margarita hears back from her friend request to her mother, Rocío. Rocío wants to meet with her.

Esteban has followed Vicente home. When Vicente loses his temper, Esteben shows his true cowardly colors and tries to put the car he drove up in between them. Esteban makes some weak threat about being a tercer dan. [Not sure what that means; the sense of it was something like a third degree black belt, maybe.] Vicente tells him he may have gotten to el tercer grado en la primaria. Vicente is chasing him around the car when Manuel comes out and asks what’s going on.

La Doña 20 (1/2)

Mona decides Lidya and Marga will go to the Sandoval offices and she will work the street, is that so you don't have to see La Dona, Lidya asks.

Jaime wants to talk to Felipe, he may be on our side.

AG is still flipping out, she wants to release the videos of Felipe shooting Saul, whoa! goes Rafael, he'll tell the rest of the story, Saul being your lover, and everything will go against you (complete with a long dissertation on how Mexican politics really work)

Braulio and Valeria show, so they come up with another plan, Rafael and Leticia will undo what Felipe said, and will Braulio be running for Felipe's job, they will leave the Aguirres alone for now.

Regina goes to Felipe's hotel room, (because she loves them both) he's drunk again, he was going to play along at the press conference but he couldn't tolerate AG having her way again, his love for her has turned to hate, he has no one at the hotel to do anything for him because he would suspect them to be working for AG, Regina offers to make him some coffee, he takes a shower and gets upset at a radio program putting him down and throws the radio, Regina runs into the room, oops he's naked, we're just friends Felipe says, or is their something else going on, Regina leaves.

Monica has to fix her bike, Sal walks by, another cold shoulder from her, he wants to know why, as she is about to spill beat-up Yesenia shows up to see Lazaro, she thought Monica would be gone, Monica is totally shaken, says she was hit by a car ??, and Saul recognizes her as he talked to her about Guillermo, and when Monica leaves she tries to not connect Monica to anything but indicates that maybe AG was responsible, she knows he is AG's lover, a lost cause, and wants him to stay away from Monica, nothing doing, Saul replies.

Isabel has posted their drunk speeding videos on the internet, and something about Emiliano being cool and Diego being boring.

Gabino is giving a couple of kids a hard time for not having permits, etc, sees Monica off in the distance and has something he wants them to do, they steal a ladies purse next to Monica, he catches them and pleads on their behalf to Monica and the lady, Monica thinks maybe he put them up to it, nah, but did you want to hear about when I was at the hospital with your friend Saul.

Yesenia tells her car story to Lazaro, he doesn't buy it and gets her to spill, it was Braulio, she also tells all, about going to AG with the info on Laz and Monica for money, but she got kicked out and now she is certain AG had Guillermo killed, Laz isn't liking this at all, and Yesenia is afraid he won't let her see them, she has changed, and has become fond of Monica, she swears she will help protect them, AG can not find out that Monica is her daughter and entitled to all that she has, (she also puts in a good word for Regina).

Marga and Lidya are selling tortas when 'the witch flies in' as Lidya puts it, AG recognizes Marga who wants to talk so it's off to the office, Marga relays what the detective said, that Miguel is most likely dead, and Marga wants to thank her for offering to take care of him, whoa, AG shuts this down quick, I didn't say that, and if you are implying I do things like that you won't like me as your enemy, jumps all over her, which tears up Marga, just as Saul has conned his way into her office, and tries to make a connection, but AG say she was here selling sandwiches like your other friend and wanted to know how she was doing, but why is she crying Saul asks, AG blows it off, and turns on the charm, Saul has come on what Felipe has said that she wouldn't talk about it on the phone, she calls a meeting of her A team and introduces Saul, and says they are dropping the tenement to the amazement of everyone.

La Doña 20 (2/2)

Rafael has come to see Felipe to offer his services, (after he is searched for a wire), Felipe throws him out, but he is still there talking, and is Felipe starting to listen?

Matamoros does a cold war spy thingy, meeting with one of Felipe's trusted guys, and exchanges money for something.

Regina is hanging out in the cafeteria waiting to see AG when she spots Lidya and Marga, asks about the other girl at the hospital, Monica? Lidya says.

Silvana

Great recap, novelera. Muchas gracias otra vez. I loved your asides (I too hope that AJ will wind up in jail, but I'm not sure that even that will get Chivis back with Manuel...she manages to turn everything into her feeling guilty. Sigh.).

Thanks very much for including some Spanish. I had looked up acurruqué, but I misspelled it and couldn't find it. And I missed Vicente's telling Esteban that perhaps he got to third grade in elementary school. Bravo, Vicente!

I loved Andrés giving Lucha cloth handkerchiefs. Early in their relationship (and for quite a while thereafter), she was struck by the fact that he used cloth handkerchiefs (which he was forever offering her when she cried). She regarded them as a sign of the upper-class background she distrusted, but she ultimately found them an endearing feature. So I thought it a nice touch that since he wasn't going to be around to offer his handkerchiefs to her, he provides her with some. In a way, it was similar to her giving him a passionate kiss to take with him and remember her by.

Silvana

I posted my comment prematurely. I meant to add two things. One is that I cheered when Chivis gave AJ a hard slap. It left no doubt about her anger at him. Brava, Chivis!

The other is that the development with Margarita making contact with her mother at this late stage in the novela puzzles me. I fear that it may simply be a way of having someone else care about/for Margarita when Don Benito links up permanently with Trini [barf here]. I sure hope there's more to it than that, but I can't imagine what. It would be amusing if AJ had had an affair with Rocio ages ago, but I doubt it. Anybody??

Silvana:

Juanita: Manuel finally puts indecisive Chivis in her place.

1.) I still want Trini to get her anvil though.

2.) AJ the psychopath still in the mansion!

3.) Angie needs a big backbone!

4.) I can't wait for this NIGHTMARE to be finally over on January 16th.

La Doña

Thanks very much, deb, for a recap I found exceptionally helpful. It explained several things that went right by me when I watched the episode last night. I had no idea, for example, that Isabela posted the speeding videos on the Internet. What an idiot!

Also, did Gabino get the boys to grab the woman's pocketbook so that he could be merciful and impress Monica? If so, I missed that, too.

I love your describing the meeting between Matamoros and the other guy on the park bench as a "cold war spy thingy." I had no idea who the other guy was, however, nor what info he was passing along to Matamoros. I thought that Felipe had no one except Regina that he trusted. ??

Silvana

Steve, I too would like to see Trini get her anvil, but I'm not convinced it will happen. Sigh.

And yes, Jan. 16th can't come fast enough.

I'm glad to see you got back safely from the Philippines. There was apparently some nasty weather there at about the time you were leaving.

LA DOÑA: ¡Muchísimas gracias! deb. Thanks for using every character's name. It's going to be a while before I can keep them straight. I kept trying to remember Guillermo, the hapless foreman who was buried alive! (can anyone refresh me as to why AG got rid of him). So Yesenia was his wife? I'm still not clear on the relationships all around. She is tía to AG?, which makes her what, exactly, to Lázaro?. They obviously share a past and he obviously doesn't trust her. But that was a bit of a bombshell about the inheritance. Because, by rights it would also be Lázaro's if, in fact, AG had obtained it by illegal means.

For a brief moment, I was not trusting Gabino. But, now, I'm not so sure. Cop with a heart of gold? or maybe just a throbbing heart for Mónica. I realize that Saúl is the main guy, but he can't seem to make up his mind whose side he's on, and it's him I don't trust. And how do you like AG's goon squad. Boy is that Rafael a slick character. Both he & Valeria had some schooling to do for La Doña who seems oblivious to the double standard of gender roles in Mexican society (and it's not just Mexican).

So, now that we've disposed of Miguel, how many more Monkees do we have to work our way through?

LA DOÑA: and do you think AG's lipstick was fuchsia enough? Or was it just my TV screen? The woman can act, with just the smallest gesture.

Silvana sin lana:

Thanks, novelera, for another lovely recap.

As much as Silvana's giving-it-all-up-for-my-kids thing is frustrating as hell this late in the game, this was probably a clearer example than most of them (and it actually shut Maria Jose up for a hot minute, which is apparently the only thing that does shut her up). And she finally really stuck up for herself to the Douchebag of the Universe, declaring she wouldn't be another ornament in his house. That said, we've only got either eight or nine episodes left: at this point the show has to
1. get the DotU out of the way of Manuel and Silvana (either jail or death, and while nobody has died in this show it's really late to play the latter card unless the DotU goes completely insane)
2. secure HEAs for
a. Andres and Lucia
b. Benito and Trini (yeah, no, Trini; you should get a damn anvil)
c. Vicente and Maria Jose (which has to include getting her a spine)
d. apparently, Poncho and Stella (who at this point doesn't deserve him--go run to Sister D-Cups, man!)
3. aaaand resolve this out of nowhere Margarita/Rocio thing. Obviously they're not going to kill off Benito now, but why the heck would they wait until episode 98 or so to semi-introduce Margarita's absentee mother unless she's somehow tied to the A-story?

SILVANA:

Thanks, novelera. Not much to say as it's more of the same. But I was surprised that Vicente didn't tell Majo about how AJ confronted him. Why?

Seems like the writers are purposely trying to create conflict with everyone, by having Angie be unreasonable for no reason, about something stupid. Totally out of character. Leave Angie and Jorge alone, Writers!

If only that slap were enough to deter AJ. Good for you, Chivis. Now, how about getting a divorce lawyer?!

LA DOÑA:

Thanks so much, Deb! I was surprised Yesina came clean to Lazaro about everything, including her original plans to exploit him and Monica to get money out of AG.

Not sure what Regina sees in Felipe. She needs to get out more and stop being a doormat for him and her sister, and her daughter too. I know her intentions are good in wanting to discover if Monica is AG's daughter, I just don't know if I trust her to keep the secret from AG.

LXV- I think that because Yesina's last card reading warned of Monica being in danger from a man in uniform, we are to assume that Gabino is bad news. I think the music they played when he interrogated Saul, and when he convince the boys to pretend to steal so that he could play the noble hero in front of Monica, also give us clues. Instead of being light and fun, the music has a slight menacing quality about it, showing that what looks like a growing crush and mild jealousy, could turn into dark obsession. I think that's where they're going.

LA DOÑA: thanks for those insights Vivi! You sure pick up a lot of clues. You're probably right, because I definitely got a bad vibe from Gabino when he was "interrogating" Saúl. That was a set up wasn't it? He was just poking around on his own to see who his rival would be? Or was it official? Anyway, I half believed the handbag caper, but my Spanish wasn't good enough to pick up the subtelties.

LA DOÑA:

LXV- Nope, Gabino's trip to the hospital wasn't official at all. He was there to see Monica, was eavesdropping and heard everyone say that the cops didn't seem concerned, and then presented himself as if he were sent to investigate. Of course, all he was investigating was if there's a romantic relationship between Saul and Monica.

By the way, Monica really needs to drop the attitude with Saul.

Silvana

Thanks, Juanita, for remembering the cloth handkerchief reference. I had completely forgotten about that, so I thought it was a dumb goodbye gift. Apparently it was a very thoughtful one and something that connected the two of them.

I think they ARE going with Margarita getting her mother back to salve her wounds over losing Jorge. She's actually a good actress. And she's delightful when she's being sweet.

Silvana

I thought Vicente not telling Majo about the ugly confrontation with her father was one more demonstration of how much he loves her. He knows that she has always been daddy's girl, and he didn't want to disillusion her or force her into a choice between her father and the man she loves.

Thanks for your recap, novelera. Like so many have said before, this show can't end too soon for me. Fortunately, the recaps are well done and I don't need to see the episodes to keep up. Again, many thanks.
Helen

Juanita: I went to the Philippines last week.

La Dona: Anyone want to bet Felipe & Regina have sex ?

Juanita: I'll be back to the States later next week.

We're doing Ok.

SILVANA

novelera - Thank you for the recap, the translations, and the snark. Houseguests just left 45 minutes ago, and it occurred to me that there might have been an episode last night. (duh)
I'll get caught up one of these days. Thanks again!

Silvana

As usual, Tuesday's recap will be posted sometime tomorrow morning.

La Doña 21 (1/2)

at the investors ?? meeting, AG tells of other land for the parking garage, 2 minute walk maybe a tunnel, Braulio objects to all, Saul undercuts everything he says and some wonder why Saul isn't representing them instead.

Rafael is selling Felipe on his help, he likes to be on the winning side and Saul has weaken AG, (Rafael gets a call from Matamoros, he has gotten what he asked for) Rafael tells Felipe to think about it.

persistent Regina finds out Monica lives in the tenement and gets the address fron Tania, the secretary.

(didn't get all this but the other investors are in some kind of married only club where AG monitors them, her and Saul are not any worse).

Saul doesn't want to talk about their relationship at her office, he will text her where and when they will meet.

Monica is buying meds for Lazaro while Gabino tells her that Saul is not interested in her, the price has gone up so Monica sweet talks the pharmacist (Raul), and he comes through, Gabino is off to the bathroom, but intercepts him, didn't like him flirting with his woman, punches him a few times, dares him to report him.

Lazaro pulls out the whole story of Braulio beating Yesenia, she was near AG's because Monica sells sandwiches there, he freaks and starts packing and Regina arrives, oh this is too much and he has an attack of something, Regina and Yesenia take him to the hospital.

Saul meets with the detective, but she lays it on thick, he is the main suspect in Miguel's disappearance/death, even throws in he is living with Margarita, no, no, she lives with my parents.

Braulio throws out AG never appreciates all he does, she says he's jealous, he's never going to get what he wants from her, get over it, we'll be related by marriage, Diego and Isabela.

AG has Isabela calling her mom, but she is not answering, she pushes Diego, Isabela says there is no chemistry, AG sweetens the pot, gives her a car.

the tenement war is over, AG made the decision herself, Saul tells his parents.

ah, the card Matamoros got from Felipe's guy was from the call girl he slept with, they pick her up, very discrete, she knows he is having trouble with his wife, and Felipe's guy has given him a sedative with his drinking and sent the other bodyguards away, he knows they are coming to take some pictures, but wait Matamoros shoots the girl, and then Felipe's guy, Braulio shows and complains about the extra body, he was our inside man, yeah but he started whining.

earlier Regina received a call at the hospital from Felipe, she hides her phone as Yesenia jumps up to see, he tells her that he is lonely, then Yesenia gets a call from Monica looking for her dad, she tells her they are having dinner at her place, maybe spend the night, cab fare and all.

Saul has gotten a room, Ag shows, but he was pondering when she told him she wouldn't think about herself until she fulfilled a promise that she made to another and he asks who that was, and they get into the usual, you don't trust me, etc, but the clothes are coming off and they are moving along, Saul tells her she is the only woman he has ever wanted, (what about Ximena) but it cancels out his common sense, there will come a day he will know all about her, and he will still want her. (anyone placing bets?)

La Doña 21 (2/2)

Regina and Yesenia talk, both feel guilty about Lazaro, Yesenia admits to Braulio beating her, tells of Monica, she radiates joy and hope, Regina thinks AG would never harm her, Yesenia reminds her she sent her away because she would always remind her what they did to her, and that it would destroy both her and Lazaro to find out he was not the father.

the girls are making sandwiches and talking, they mention some lady (Regina) asking about Monica at the office and seeing her here with Yesenia, when Jorge shows up, followed by Gabino in street clothes, he gets more menacing every day.

in the after glow Saul kills the mood by talking about Miguel, he relates how the detective has made him the prime suspect, and tells of the employees at the shipyard all made statements about them arguing, (and AG remembers that the employees could make statements about her being there), Saul can see that AG gets really worked up when this topic comes up, were you raped?

La Dona:

Deb: Jorge & Gabino obviously getting more menacing.

Regina & Yesenia are kidding themselves if they don't think AG would harm Monica. Trust me: she WILL by having Braulio torture Monica.

Silvana sin Lana (Capítulo 108) - Martes - 1/3

Esteban and Vicente are still arguing in front of Vicente's house. Esteban warns Vicente "stay away from my boss's daughter or you can say goodbye to your teeth." Of course, while he's talking aggressively, he's continually backing away from Vicente. Manuel comes out of the house, and Vicente introduces him to Esteban, whom he calls AJ's hired assassin and spy. Manuel gives Esteban a message for his boss: "Don't mess with my family." Esteban says Manuel and his family are the ones who need to stop: Vicente with AJ's daughter and Manuel with his wife. Esteban refers to his poor boss with his horns: "He looks like Bambi."

Dom and Poncho are being measured for white suits for the wedding. Dom wants to talk to Poncho about Stella, but Poncho wants to avoid that topic. Dom tells him that Stella has been strange ever since Poncho kissed her. Poncho says that she's always rather strange. Dom says that Snow White is unhappy that one of the dwarfs--the most important one--is getting married. Poncho tells him that all this talk comes too late. The dwarf can't wait forever. The train has left the station. He's getting on with his life.

At Don Benito's, Margarita is still in contact with her mother. She sends her a message asking "Are you still there?" Her mother replies, "Yes, I'm waiting for your reply. I miss you a lot, hija." When Margarita says she misses her, too, her mother says that she's coming to Miami to see her. Margarita is thrilled.

Trini is her usual ridiculous and overbearing self with Don Benito. She admits that although she has her pool and her old friends, she's bored. Don Benito mentions The Kiss they had, and Trini expresses her horror at his saying this in public when he hasn't asked her to be his novia, and she puts on her sunglasses, presumably to avoid being recognized by "the public." Don Benito assures her he will declare himself properly. Trini, however, tells him not to do so here in the bakery, but in a more original and romantic setting. "Invent something," she says, and leaves.

Angie calls Esteban, who is still parked in front of Manuel's house, and asks him to drive her to the cine. He says he can't, he's too far away. No sooner does he hang up than his phone rings again. This time, it's Majo. He again says he's too far away and hangs up. Majo calls back and berates him for his tone and attitude. He tells her to go talk to her father and hangs up. Along comes Trini, who has left the bakery and needs a ride back to Coral Gables. Before he has time to refuse, the phone rings yet again. AJ wants to know how things are going, and he wants Esteban to return to the house to see whether Chivis has gone out. Esteban throws his phone on the ground and crushes it under his foot. He announces that he's quitting, and he gives the car keys to Trini. She tells him that with her valuable jewelry and her soft skin, she can't drive--he must drive. He replies, "Never. I've never seen a family so crazy." He walks away.

Poncho and Dom return to the house with all kinds of items for the wedding, such as a thingy to blow bubbles with. Poncho has great fun trying it out. Dom goes upstairs but quickly comes down again and announces, horrified, that Javito has escaped again. They search desperately and finally realize that since the doors were closed, Javito couldn't have left through the doors. Perhaps he went through the curtain separating Stella's bedroom from Manuel's. They go to Manuel's in search of Javito. Pedrito says the dog is not in his house. When he hears them say they plan to go to Chivis' house to invite her and her family to the wedding, Pedrito asks them to give his regards to Lupita.

Silvana sin Lana (Capítulo 108) - Martes - 2/3

Angie calls Jorge. Both are trying without much success to study. She plays a recording she made of their song. They say lots of loving things to each other. Angie mentions that her mother is very sad. Jorge says the same about his father. [For some reason, this scene just didn't work for me.]

Vicente and Manuel are in the kitchen. Vicente wants to confront AJ. Manuel warns his son that he has to be very careful and swallow his pride for the moment if he doesn't want to lose Majo. Moreover, continues Manuel, she's the one who should confront her father, not Vicente. Vicente agrees, but points out that she's afraid to do so. She's not like Angie, she's somewhat more childish. [ya think so??] Thus, Vicente feels that he's the one who will have to confront AJ, slowly (Por eso, el que tiene que ir dando la pelea, poco a poco, soy yo). Manuel hopes Majo doesn't throw in the towel, like her mother (Ojalá no se rinda como su mamá). Vicente says that that's why he's not saying anything to her, at least for now. He doesn't want her running off (salga corriendo). He has to get ready, be careful (tengo que ponerme trucha). He adds, "that is, I have to be more quick-witted, shrewd, than AJ" (O sea, ser más vivo que el Villaseñor). Manuel again warns him to be careful, that that bandit can't be trusted "ese bandido no es de fiar). Vicente reminds Manuel that he taught him not to let himself be intimidated by anything or anyone, and especially when what's at stake is the love of his life. Manuel and he show their muscles.

Poncho and Dom come to see Chivis. They're overwhelmed by her luxurious house. Chivis is delighted to see them. Dom takes selfies with Chivis and Poncho. Poncho invites her to his wedding. She's surprised: "You're getting married again? When?" "Tomorrow," replies Poncho.

The scene shifts to Stella, sitting at a table and writing something in a notebook, while in the novela's background, we hear a song with the lyrics "You are my unattainable love." There's a knock on the door. It's Génesis. Stella has invited her. In her polite way, Génesis says she has a lot to do before the wedding, so "what is it that you want?" Stella explains that she cares for Poncho and wants to impart tips to make him happy. She runs on and on: he loves Latin music, and if Génesis sings, he'll be happy all day, and he has a problem with dry hair, and Stella gives her a shampoo that will help, and he's allergic to nuts, and--most important--he's stubborn and foolish, like all men, but he has a good heart, and, above all, he's super affectionate, yadda yadda yadda. As she goes on about what foods to serve or avoid, Stella breaks down. Génesis wants to write all this down, but Stella tells her she's already done so, and gives her the page she was writing when Génesis arrived. Stella breaks down again, and a somewhat puzzled Génesis puts her arms around her to comfort her.

Chivis expresses her delight about Poncho's wedding. She assures him that her family will attend, and she's very happy for him. Dom then asks whether they might have a tour of the house. Chivis agrees. Dom leaves the room momentarily, and Poncho takes advantage of his absence to talk to Chivis. He starts talking about Manuel and Chivis being in love but not together. Chivis stops him, saying she doesn't want to discuss this. With her reluctant permission, he gives her a piece of advice: "I've never seen two people so in love. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be with your true love."

Silvana sin Lana (Cap 108) - Martes - 3/3

Manuel is sitting alone on the couch looking sad. His four kids come downstairs and surround him very affectionately. They don't like to see him sad. They give him a surprise: a Seiko watch. They tell him, "We wanted to buy you a novia, but they were too expensive. And there were none like Chivis available." He tells them that they are his best treasure.

Stella pulls herself together and continues with more things Génesis needs to know about Poncho. Génesis thanks her profusely, and observes that Stella knows Poncho very well. Stella agrees. "We have a connection super heavy...and she breaks down again. Génesis asks, "You're half in love with my Poncho, no?" Stella denies this, saying that she and Poncho are like siblings. Génesis replies that Stella speaks of Poncho with excessive love. Stella offers more excuses and then says that she thought she'd be the first one to leave the house in marriage. Génesis tells her to have faith, that "when you least expect it, someone will come along, as happened to me with Ponchito." Poncho and Dom return and see Stella in tears. Dom assumes that Javito has died and becomes inconsolable.

Chivis is in her bedroom. She puts on the earrings Manuel had given her. Trini calls and tells her she has two pieces of terrible news. She amends that to one terrible, one not. The terrible is that Esteban has quit. Trini informs Chivis, "I discovered that he was spying on us. He followed me all day." Chivis says that surely AJ was involved in this. As Trini talks to Chivis, she also talks to Don Benito, whom she is feeding. The resulting ridiculous conversation is pure Trini. Trini eventually tells Chivis she doesn't have money to take a taxi. Chivis tells her to take the taxi and she'll pay, and then hangs up. Don Benito assures Trini that he's perfectly healthy and can take her home. [We don't learn what Trini's other piece of news is.]

Angie is studying for a test. Majo comes in but can't bring her to tell Angie what's the matter, just that "It's worse than papá finding out." By now most of Viewerville can guess what the problem is, but the normally intelligent Angie seems clueless. Even when Majo asks about how ovaries work, Angie still seems to be in the dark. Majo then says, "Hypothetically speaking, if someone is super regular and then isn't...Angie realizes that the "someone" is Majo and asks her to stop beating around the bush. Majo admits that her period is very late.

Stella admits to Dom that she doesn't want Poncho to marry Génesis.

Angie asks Majo whether Vicente took precautions. Majo says she doesn't know, she would have to ask him. Angie asks how she could not know. Majo replies, "I don't look there. I close my eyes, turn off the lights, I don't know." Angie says "You're a grown woman. You have to take precautions." Majo tells Angie that she spoke to their mother about making an appointment with the gynecologist, but then all the business with her father occurred, and she didn't do anything. Angie asks Majo how many days late she is. She doesn't know. Somewhere between five and fifteen.

Stella admits to Dom that she's feeling things for Poncho. It occurs to Dom that perhaps that's why Stella called Génesis, to tell her what she (Stella) feels and that Génesis shouldn't marry Poncho. Stella denies this, and says she called her to give her tips. "I told her all the things that Poncho likes so that she can make him happy." She adds: "I swear I don't know what will become of me without Poncho." Dom tells her not to mention any of this to Poncho. She says at least she still has Dom and Javito. "Thank God I have my four-legged son." She leaves to go upstairs to sleep. Dom looks sad and says in a very low voice, "And probably you don't even have Javito."

Silvana

Sorry this is so late. I spent a LOT of time fighting with the word-count nazi. But even worse, after editing the recap to reduce its size, I was twice confronted with "Bad Request" error messages. I finally shut my browser down and started over on part 3. Finally, I got it posted.

I'm also getting more and more annoyed at the Captcha mechanism, which sometimes makes me go through five or six screens before it's convinced I'm not a robot. By then, I'm convinced that I am!

End of rant. For now.

I have come to really like Dom and the actor who plays him. He speaks very quickly and has quick rapier-like wit.

SILVANA

Thanks so much for the terrific recap, Juanita. You were especially eloquent with this one. I loved all the Spanish you included. Sometimes I get the gist but don’t bother to really focus on some of the details.

Well, I googled Bambi. Bambi, a character who apparently didn’t figure in the writers’ childhoods, had no horns. He was a fawn!

I’m already feeling badly for Génesis. She’s really, really sweet and deserves to get Poncho. Is there any chance the writers would let the wedding happen? A better match for Stella would be Esteban since they both are devious!

What’s up with the dog? I am fed up to my back teeth with Javito plot developments when there are so many other things to move along.

I said what feels like months ago that I HOPE they aren’t going with Majo getting pregnant as a way to ensure she and Vicente ending up together. This is just awful. Vicente needs her to “woman up” and choose him, stand up to her father, and have it be clear that it was a choice.

Trini, well, she still gets lots of lines but they don’t make much sense.

I did like Esteban quitting. Good for him. Actually, he still has a job with his old boss as far as I know - the guy who’s being taken to the cleaners by AJ. I can’t remember his name. Esteban was on loan to Fat Toad so he’d look like a person of substance. Both the car and Esteban belong to the rich guy.

GoBlueFan, I also like Dom. And he is a GOOD dancer. They showed him dancing with Stella at the salsadromo once and they were both good.

Silvana:

I hope Genesis ends up with somebody in the end.

SILVANA:

No need for apology! The recap was just wonderful. I was going in and out of the room, so I only caught a few small snippets of some of the scenes.

I was skeptical earlier when immature Majo was about to become someone's wife. But now, I'm absolutely HORRIFIED that this idiot, who doesn't even understand how to use a condom or if one is in use WHILE she's having sex, or how her own reproductive system works, is about to become a parent!

LA DOÑA:

Thanks so much, Deb! Wow. Does AG know that her people are murdering people willy nilly, as part of her plan to destroy Felipe?

Regina is a fool to believe that AG wouldn't hurt Monica. As if condemning her to poverty with an alcoholic father wasn't enough already.

Gabino continues to grow more sinister. That poor pharmacist.

Silvana

Muchísimas gracias, novelera, for your kind words about the recap and your perceptive comments about the episode. I found the Bambi reference strange, since I too always thought of Bambi as a young deer with no horns. I wonder whether the comparison is intended to work two ways--one, to suggest the cuckold's horns, but simultaneously to suggest the weakness of a young deer. On second thought, scratch that. My guess is that, as you suggest, Bambi was the only deer whose name was familiar to the writers, and they assumed he had horns.

Silvana

thanks Juanita!

since I just have a dial-up connection, I'm always having trouble posting, lately I've been skipping the robot thingy and clicking on publish (of course it won't) to find out if the length is ok and then do the recaptcha.

La Doña

like I said earlier I've been doing the recaps just to get us started, I'll try and finish out the week and then take a break.

with Silvana getting strung out I don't think those guys will be able to make the jump.

SILVANA

Juanita - Thank you for the recap, the translations, and the snark! No apologies necessary; it was excellent, as is!

That scene where Trini was spoon-feeding Don B like an infant was. really. strange. Hel-lo?!?!???
I kept wondering if I had missed something? Was there something wrong with his arms? His hands? But noooooo, he seemed to be functioning just fine. Although I do question his sanity.

Eh, looks like Majo is preggers. That girl is dumber than a box of rocks. Sheesh!

La Doña

Thanks so much, deb, for yet another great recap. Well, it looks as if Saúl has made an enemy of Braulio, who is jealous of Saúl both as a man and as a lawyer. That's one guy I definitely would not want as an enemy!

And it looks as if Vera Cruz is about to have a murder spree. Not just the Monkeys but also all the employees who came into contact with AG. This novela may give the 10 pm narconovelas some competition in the bloodshed category.

So can we depend upon all Yesenia's instincts and predictions? She's definitely got Gabino pegged correctly.

Silvana

Thanks very much, doris, for your encouraging words about the recap. Yes, the scene with Trini feeding Don Benito was quite bizarre, even when she wasn't trying to talk at the same time to Chivis. There was nothing wrong with him, but he did have that spell of dizziness where they almost sent him to the hospital. He's been trying ever since to convince Trini that he's fine, but he admits that he enjoys her fussing over him. It takes all kinds, I guess.

I'm slightly hoping that Majo is just late, not preggers, for the reasons novelera set forth in her comment above. And it's quite possible that the writers are playing with us. But I wouldn't bet on it.

Silvana and La Doña

deb, thanks for the suggestion about dealing with the word-count problem. Until today, it hadn't been a problem for me. Which is to say, if my recap was rejected for being too long, all I had to do was shorten it, and it went through. But for some reason today I got the dreaded "Bad Request" error message, twice. Grrrr.

I've been very grateful for your wonderful recaps of La Doña. I expect to recap that novela one day per week once Silvana ends, and frankly your recaps have helped me get a better understanding even though I am already watching La Doña. You help me see so much that I miss. You've done an immense service by providing these recaps. Even though I will miss them a LOT if you stop, I wouldn't feel right trying to talk you into continuing until Silvana ends. You've already done so much. I'd love to see people step up to volunteer to do one recap per week once Silvana ends. Perhaps you'd be willing to be one such person?

La Dona:

Juanita: Why do I do feel like Felipe will end up being framed for multiple murders ?

La Dona:

Juanita: I'm predicting that AG's cronies will likely have Saul's parents killed including Monica's friends.

The Body Count is likely going to increase massively!

La Doña 22 (1/2)

Saul knows something bad happened to AG, he wants her to know it's ok to let it out, that justice will prevail and that he will make sure it never happens again, talk to me, she says she has to go.

Matamoros under Braulio's direction cleans up Felipe's place and sets the stage, Rafael has gone home, Leticia knows what AG is capable of and doesn't like that he went to see Felipe.

the doc checks out Lazaro, he's worried it's something worse, Monica hasn't had the money to do any of the tests yet, Regina offers to pay for everything, Laz wants nothing to do with AG's money, but everything we have belonged to you, Regina says. (the doc wants to do a brain MRI)

Jorge gets some beer and a cumbia CD and they have a party, Gabino turning on the charm, when Monica breaks things up she walks Gabino out where he gives her a gold bracelet that belonged to his mother (or stolen goods recovered from some thieves) as Saul walks up abruptly, lets out how Gabino was asking him personal questions in the hospital, que? Monica goes, Gabino talks about soccer teams, no matter that they are both good, there is only one winner, or something, and leaves, Saul asks about her boyfriend, she sasses him with I guess we both have our secrets.

meanwhile Jorge grabs Margarita, wrong, and she freaks, Lidya reminds her about Marga, forbids him to see her.

Isabel asks AG why she can't drive her car, ah, it's only for dates with Diego.

it's morning

AG comments that Regina came in late last night and she wasn't answering her phone, like you, I need my moments alone, she responds, do you have a lover AG asks, no, bet you went to see Felipe, yep for a final goodbye.

Felipe awakes with knocking on his door, gun in hand and dead girl next to him on the bed, he can't reach his assistant (dead and gone), and his guards can't keep the cops out, he is so screwed, he can only say he didn't drink that much, doesn't remember anything, was drugged, it was a setup, he wants his lawyer, but he's not answering the phone (AG bought him off) so it's off to jail.

Rafael sends Leticia off to work so she can be the one to release the breaking news, and Emiliano isn't up yet.

Monica calls Lazaro who goes with Yesenia's story, he's at her house, see her tonight, Monica wonders if he is drinking again.

Saul talks with Margarita, the detective suspects him, Miguel had mentioned a group he was with, can you tell me anything about them, nope, he thinks they might be responsible for his disappearance.

Braulio tells AG the military monkey (Cepedes) will be back soon, should we kidnap him too, no, AG has other ideas, Braulio thinks Saul is making her weak, she asks about Felipe, taken care of, he is up to his neck in scandal, and explains, que? you killed the prostitute, AG is surprised and doesn't like being left out of the loop, find out if she has family and compensate them.

Rafael checks on Emiliano, wakes him up and sees the weed on the table, they talk, things can change, he was Emiliano's age once and did some stupid things, he wants Emiliano to make something of himself and tosses the room looking for more drugs and doesn't find any, Emiliano says he is not a drug addict and is also searching for something, Rafael says last night I did something, not for my career nor power or money, but for you.

the doc wants Monica to know about her dad, Yesenia is trying to spare her but is getting worried, and gets the doc to spill, he suspects brain herniation.

Saul stops Monica on her way to work to talk, he has a bad feeling about that cop, no he is not interested in him, he's just worried about Monica, she gives that she is not dating him, Saul is forever grateful that she took him to the hospital and that she has a lot on her plate, you don't owe me anything she says, but he cares for her, he will always make time for her, you are important to me, and kisses her, on the forehead.

La Doña 22 (2/2)

Felipe is at the jail, he wants to be treated like a congressman, that's right, I am only accused, the party will come for me, ah, but it's only AG, plays a recording on how the party won't back a murderer, I'm the only one that can help you, he accuses her of murdering that woman, (I bet she wins at poker too)

Saul has lunch with Lopez, he has the day off, they are working on something and they don't want me around, ah something for AG, Saul figures.

Monica tells Margarita about her feelings for Saul, she admires him but needs to put up a barrier so she won't get hurt, but at the end of the day he is always there.

Emiliano finds the photo he was looking for that he saw and saved from Rafael's past, his wilder days, whoa! ("Hey, Hey, it's the monkeys", as Vivi reminded us of that song), all proudly showing their tattoos.

LA DONA:

Deb- Ha! Loved your final sentence, and what a great reveal. One of the Monkeys has been right under AG's nose all along, as one of her most trusted allies. I wonder if Rafael was the one who let her go instead of killing her? I'm surprised that what seemed like a group of street thugs have all risen to such high levels of power. Who knew drinking, carousing, murdering and raping could be such great stepping stones to success.

LA DONA:

Vivi: I always knew Rafael was up to no good from the get-go.

1.) I'm not surprised he's one of the Monkeys.

2.) This is turning into a violent version of "Infames".

3.) Bold Prediction: Margarita & Lidya will NOT be among the living! You've heard it here first!

4.) Saul's parents also in danger too.

5.) Lopez is also a dead man walking if he keeps running his big mouth!

6.) Felipe's political career is OVER!

7.) Yesenia: You're holding all of the cards & have the power to take down AG & her cronies IF Yesenia lives to expose the truth!

8.) Body Count now at what ? 13 ?

La Doña

Many thanks yet again, deb, for these marvellous recaps. Once again, I learned things that I missed when I watched the episode.

Saúl keeps coming upon reasons to be wary of AG (e.g., Lopez's being given the day off from work because something's up and they don't want him to know about it). I wonder how much it will take before Saúl's brain overrides his, um, lower parts.

For me, the most surprising part of the episode was the revelation at the end about Rafael's past as a Monkey and the existence of a photo of all of them. I wonder whether any of the others (other than Miguel) are characters we have already met. I don't remember what if anything Rafael knows about AG's vengeance against Miguel Preciado. Does he even know about her having been raped by the Monkeys twenty years earlier?

La Doña

Vivi, that's an interesting speculation about Rafael being the "good" Monkey. I bet you're right. And I loved your last line: "Who knew drinking, carousing, murdering and raping could be such great stepping stones to success."

Silvana sin Lana - Wednesday, December 28 - Capítulo 109, part 1/2

Angie offers to buy a pregnancy test since Majo is a child and too scared to do it or tell Vicente. She’s afraid he’ll leave her and her dad will kill them.

Dom wonders if the dog went back to the old house. Poncho wonders if Stella will try to stop the wedding, but thinks she’s too stubborn. They decide the only way for Stella to admit that she loves Poncho is to get her drunk.

The dog is in the Gallardo’s kitchen, getting into the garbage.

Both Manuel and Chivis remember their balcony conversations and look miserable.

Wedding day. The Three Stooges are almost ready. Dom gets them to have a group hug and notices the awkwardness when Stella and Poncho are close together. Dom wants to talk to Poncho alone before they leave. Poncho is practically giving up and thinks he’ll just eventually fall in love with Genesis.

The Villaseñors get ready in Chivis’ room. Trini annoys everyone and interrupts Majo trying to paint her nails. Majo asks Angie to text Vicente so she can talk to him while her dad is not there. She’ll head to the wedding on her own.

Lucha helps Jorge get ready and teases him about looking like a bodyguard. Andrés knocks on the door. He heard about a special airport transfer. Lucha plays along and says it’s very expensive. She requires a dozen handkerchiefs, daily reports via Facebook or Whatsapp, and a notarized copy of his return ticket. He asks why she’s dressed up and so pretty. She tells him about Poncho’s wedding and they leave to head to the airport.

At the wedding venue, Poncho keeps watching for Stella to arrive. Dom finally admits that Stella doesn’t want him to get married.

Stella tells Manuel she feels sad that Poncho is getting married, and asks if they can go to the wedding together. Manuel thinks she’s up to something.

Vicente arrives at the mansion and Majo tells him that she thinks she’s pregnant. He’s surprised and she thinks he’s going to dump her. Vicente is excited and happy since he does want to have kids with her. Majo says she still needs to do the test to be sure. Vicente says if she is pregnant, he will take care of them and be the best dad in the world. He jokes about Trini having a heart attack if the kid has his dark hair.

Manuel tells Stella to hurry up so they can leave. She wants to try one last thing so she can be sure. She grabs Manuel and kisses him, and is surprised that she feels nothing. Absolutely nothing. She finally realizes she’s not in love with him anymore.

Apparently Pedro doesn’t get to go to the wedding so he’s at home playing with the dog. He finds a post on Facebook about a lost dog named Fluffy. The dog barks when hearing the name.

Margarita tells her mother to come as soon as possible, so she can hear the whole truth from her in person. Rocío responds that she will be there the next day.

Silvana sin Lana - Wednesday, December 28 - Capítulo 109, part 2/2

Manuel isn’t sure he believes Stella at first. But then Stella admits that she thinks she’s in love with Poncho and doesn’t know what to do. They kissed a few days ago and she can’t get him out of her mind. Manuel points out that Poncho is only getting married to forget about her and there’s still time to do something about it. Stella doesn’t want to ruin another wedding. Manuel convinces her though since what’s one more act of craziness in her big book of crazy acts? She would make Poncho the happiest man alive since he’s been in love with her for so long. She agrees and they hug as friends.

Vicente and Majo agree that they want to have kids but it’s not the right time. As they are kissing, AJ sneaks around the van and sees them. He demands to know what is going on. Majo gets scared since he’s so angry. He yells at Vicente to let go of her hand. Vicente tells her to finally tell him and she agrees. She admits to AJ that she and Vicente are in a relationship and AJ is livid. He calls Vicente a naco asqueroso and orders him to leave. Vicente isn’t going anywhere. AJ tells Majo what a disappointment she is and she is the last person he expected this from. Vicente cuts in - why doesn’t he tell the truth? He’s known all about them for a while, hasn’t he?

Pedro gets the bright idea to call the number for the lost dog and accidentally act like he kidnapped the dog for money. The woman on the line hangs up on him to call the police.

Vicente tells Majo that her driver is a spy and has been giving information to AJ. Majo is upset and asks Vicente to leave so she can talk to her dad alone.

Jorge and Angie are making out when Margarita arrives for the wedding. They assume she’s going to be a pain. She says she lost the war and she’s not a sore loser. They protest that nobody lost anything and it wasn’t a war. Margarita responds that she lost Jorge and it still hurts her. Doesn’t she have the right to say what she’s feeling?

Pedro tries to call Vicente and talks to the dog about Lupita. Lupita calls him from the girl scout camp, but gets interrupted to go swimming.

Majo fights with AJ. If he knew about her and Vicente, why didn’t he just tell her? Or why didn’t he just ask her instead of having someone spy on her? Why does he do such cosas turbias (shady things)? AJ’s great excuse is that it’s his style, and it seems really easy for her to lie to him. She was planning on telling him; she just didn’t want to hurt him. Vicente is a good guy who lives a simple life. AJ asks if she really wants to live that life, and if she left Andrés at the altar because of Vicente.

La Dona:

Juanita: Rafael as a good Monkey ? LOL. Are you serious ? He was involved in killing AG's parents, Cesar & raping her.

Saul's getting too close in clashing with some of AG's associates.

I still don't see Lidya & Margarita including Saul's parents being among the living.

Lopez: he's in serious danger because we know if Braulio finds out that Lopez knocked up Valeria, it's goodbye Lopez!

LA DONA:

Juanita- The only people who know about AG's rape and the Monkeys are Regina, Yesenia, and Braulio. And Brau only just found out because he caught AG in mid-torture mode while he was stalking her.

Silvana

What a spectacular recap, J! You cover everything so clearly. Certainly someone who missed the episode would get all s/he needs to know from your account. And someone who saw the episode might well learn a lot from your recap as well--I speak as one such someone. :-)

I wish that Stella's finally coming to her limited senses wasn't going to be at Génesis's expense. Génesis deserves a lot better. Stella, on the other hand, deserves very little. Oh well, perhaps the writers have some kind of surprise in store for us. Ojalá.

La Doña

Steve, in earlier episodes, Miguel asked AG to spare the fifth Monkey, who was just being initiated into the group on the night that AG was raped and her parents and novio were killed. The fifth Monkey was ordered to kill AG, but instead he deliberately plunged the knife down next to her while she screamed.

La Dona:

Juanita: Either way, the rest of the Monkeys are going down!

SILVANA--
Finally catching up on all the "action." Thank you, J, Juanita and novelera for covering Silvana during the holiday season. You have all gone beyond the call of duty to bring us each and every tortured episode.

The one thing that I think has been overlooked in all this and I'm tired of, are the threats--that marrying into a Fish Family will be a life without luxuries, ease, wealth or social standing.

It would be rare in this day and age for any wealthy family to deliberately allow a beloved (and I mean beloved) child to suffer deprivation either in marriage or out on their own and sit by and watch. It is much more likely that the parents would give a young couple a leg up, AAA, tuition, health & automobile insurance, a small bank account and some furniture and other household items to start them off.

Let AJ try, but I bet Chivis would overrule him on making Majo suffer, especially if she is pregnant. (I'm also hoping she's not--she's too immature. Being too young has nothing to do with it in this situation. But Chivis is right. Majo needs to decide what she wants to do with her life--and it doesn't consist of spending her days by the pool. I hope it's not too late.)

SILVANA

J -
Thank you for the recap!

Anita said..." Thank you, J, Juanita and novelera for covering Silvana during the holiday season. You have all gone beyond the call of duty to bring us each and every tortured episode."
I completely agree!

And so we wait ... to see if Majo really is pregnant. And she probably is. This might be what it takes to jumpstart her focus in life. was it Andres (or Angie?) who recently talked to her ..... yet again ... about finishing her degree or figuring out what she wanted to do with her life.

Andres has not left town yet? Writers are really dragging this one out.

SILVANA

Thanks, J, for your usual terrific recap!

I must admit that these telenovela actors are pretty good. Both Margarita and Stella turned on a dime and pulled off being decent people in a very short period of time.

So, do we think Fluffy is going home? If Stella manages to land Poncho, then she won’t mind losing the dog so much. After all, she only bought Javito 1.0 as an accessory for her upscale image conversion. I’m feeling some pain for the original owner. [What? I’m expecting logic? I’d have been haunting the shelter looking for my dog and he wouldn’t have been available for Dom to bring home.]

Is Majo finally going to see dadito for what he really is? Looks that way.

It’s kind of sweet that the whole Chivis clan is attending Poncho’s wedding. They don’t know Génesis and Poncho is barely an acquaintance.

Silvana:

AJ still running the Mansion & the kids like a dictatorship.

I still HATE Chivis!

La Doña

Brain herniation-

"occurs when something inside the skull produces pressure that moves brain tissues. This is most often the result of brain swelling from a head injury, stroke, or brain tumor."

"is a medical emergency. The goal of treatment is to save the person's life."

"Because herniation puts extreme pressure on parts of the brain and thereby cuts off the blood supply to various parts of the brain, it is often fatal."

Braulio had Matamoros spray any blood spatters with ammonia.

apparently this is done in movies a lot, supposed to destroy the dna, hampering the investigation, couldn't find anything conclusive on this.

I remember the kiss to the forehead from Doña Bárbara.

Silvana

thanks so much J!

yes, the Pedrito thing is kind of strange, he doesn't know why the neighbors are gone and he is hanging out at the bottom of the steps but never sees Manuel and Stella leave, I think he was holding off giving up the dog because he wanted to clear it with the neighbors first which led to the misunderstanding, and what happened to the field trip to the museum that Lupita was to go with him.

La Dona:

Deb: I'm afraid Lopez will suffer a similar fate & much worse, Lopez's wife & kid will be in danger too.

La Doña

thanks for everyone's comments!

Vivi- you may be on to something, Rafael told Leticia that he was not a murderer.

La Dona:

Deb: That didn't stop Rafael from letting the prostitute getting whacked in such a violent manner.

Body Count:
1.) AG's parents

2.) Cesar

3.) Guillermo

4.) Miguel: Monkey #1

5.) The homeless guy beaten violently to death by Braulio

6.) The prostitute

7.) Felipe's bodyguard

Anyone else I'm forgetting, let me know.
