Vino El Amor #34 - Friday 12/16/16 Lucia & Miguel heat up and David gets heated!

David may have gotten to feast on Grace's girls,  but it would appear they have nothing on a fully clothed Luciana, who is simply beautiful and radiant in her dress.  Wowie..wow..wow! Is the look on David's face and he looks every bit as delicious as ever.

Miguel comes in to interrupt (This guy has the worst timing ugh!)  and tells David the van has arrived.  Marta comes down and says Fernanda will be down soon and she's going to go up and get ready herself.  Lucia says she'll go help her and they'll see the guys over there later.  Both men watch Lucia walk away and Miguel watches her like she's a steak dinner he's going to have later, complete with a little lip lick. All he needs is a bib and knife and fork.  Sorry, patio fans his leering creeps me out. He's waaay too in to her.   I prefer David's, more restrained I-want-to-touch-you-so-bad-it-hurts body language.

There are lots of people at the wine unveiling and Lucia is surprised.  She's also really nervous to have to give a speech in front of so many people. Miguel says she'll be fine, just focus on her father and pretend that she's saying it right to him, staring in his eyes and it will be perfect.  He finally tells her she looks beautiful and she says she feels strange..and not like herself. Miguel says why? It doesn't matter if she's in jeans or flip flops or like this..she's still the most beautiful woman in the world and the one that drives me crazy. *Kissy-kiss*   Ok, that was nice Miguel, but you still bug.

Back in the huge tasting room/banquet hall,  Sonia who is looking quite lovely, arrives with Fer and Bobby.  She is so happy to be there and she thanks them again for inviting her.  Peter, cutie shows up to claim his girl and tell her his parents have arrived too  She tries to brush him off by saying he can hang with his parents, she understands as she's probably going to be with her Dad.  He says no prob, I told my parents I was going to be your date for the night! Fer is not feeling this game she started.

David and DisGraciela examine the handiwork and David says it all came out perfectly.  She's glad he had the confidence in her. He excuses himself to go and greet some guests, leaving her alone.

Perla is giddy over it all and Juan says you like it?  Well this is the life you deserve and will have, by my side.  He excuses himself to go talk to Grace. Where did you leave snoozSar? Weren't you going to come with him?  She tells him luckily there was an emergency at the last minute.  She's glad.  Juan says he can imagine. She gives him the ol' heave-ho.  Gotta check on some things, bye!  She stops the hostess who has the guest list and asks to look at it.  She spots Luciana's name and all she needs is the twirling mustache to tell us that she's gonna do something.

Outside Lilian spots Gutierrez.  You made it.  Lillian you look..beautiful!  Flutter-lash-flutter-giggle. Oh thank you. She grabs his hand and he trails behind her as she takes her little prize trophy in, most likely to rub under Marta's pert nose.  Meanwhile Luciana appears to be having a mini panic, she's not ready and there's a problem in line.  She's worried David is going to get mad. Miguel says calm down she's just nervous.  He has a gift that he was going to give her later, but decides now is a good time. Hopefully it calms her down.  He opens it and pulls out a bracelet and says he hopes she'll wearing knowing that he always thinks of her.  She loves it and he helps her put it on.  At that moment, Marta dressed in something that resembles a referee shirt minus the whistle, walks in with the rest of the staff. While inside, Grace says it's time to start the presentation as all the guests have arrived. David says well he doesn't see Lucia.  DisGrace says he can start with his opening remarks. He takes the microphone and welcomes everyone to the event.  A good wine is a process of maturity, waiting and patience and dedication. It's the closest thing to love and that's why many years ago when he decided to start this project he wanted to name it love, because that's what his wife Lisa taught him.  How this wine grew, is exactly how their love grows, everyday in their children, Fernanda and Bobby.

Outside the bracelet seems to have worked on Lucia's nerves and whatever the hold up in line, seems to have been resolved. Lucia is ready. She knows that she has to do this for her father and that where ever he is, he is watching and she wants him to be proud of her.  Miguel says, beautiful he already is.  This guy is cheezy.

Back inside, David says this wine would have not been made  been possible without his right hand man of his entire life, Mr. Marcos Munoz.  He was taken from his job and his family because of the stupid belief that the land puts limits on those who come here like him looking for opportunity and are nothing more than second class.  Cue the guilt all over Gutierrez and Ickiana   David says unfortunately Marcos is no longer with them but where ever he is, he's certainly proud.  Because his daughter has taken up his legacy and is a woman who gives her heart and passion to this land and to this wine. That's why there's no one better to talk about this grand love than her.  He calls for Lucia to come up and the crowd claps ..and waits for her arrival but she's outside.  Well because..the guest list and all.  It appears that her name is suddenly NOT on the list. Hmm…mustache twirler disGrace must have taken it off.   David makes an excuse to the crowd and assures them Lucia will be here shortly.  Well she's outside David and blowing up DisGrace's phone.  Have you seen Luciana?  No, David.  *Lash fluttering*  He tells the crowd it appears she hasn't arrived yet, so they'll put up the second video.  Outside she is panicking.  Miguel tells the hostess who they are, they are supposed to be there.  Sorry sir, this is a private event and unless you are on that list, you can't enter.   Ickiana knows her daughter did something and she asks her what she did.  Why little ol' me? Nothing. *evil grin meets evil grin*

Juan is amused that DisGrace did something.  Perla has no clue but whatever she's just happy that Luciana didn't arrive so David can see how she really is.  Her family and friends meanwhile have no idea what would keep Lucia so late.  They saw her outside when they arrived.  Susan says this is strange and has the good sense to call Lucia.  She learns what happened and tells the gang what happened outside.  She's going to go see David so they can fix it and Marta goes with her.  David is once again asking DisGrace if she's  heard from Luciana.  No.  Well give me your phone, I need to call her.  DisGrace says what's the point, the dedication is almost over, it's time to give that last words.  He takes the phone anyway and dials, but DisGrace talks him out of it.   It's time to get on with the show.  He goes back up to the stage and says the last thing he wants to do is finally thank all of those who made this dream possible. He thanks his employees, his friends and his children but above all Lisa, who has always been his inspiration.  Gran applause!   He then introduces his partner  who also happens to be a grand artist, Graciela Palacios.   Right then, Marta and Susan tell David what is happening outside.  What aren't they on the list? *DisGrace-ful shrug*  He goes out to fix the situation and tells her to go with.   Marta sees Gutierrez and he asks what's happening, she tells him and he offers his help. She tells him Mr. David is already handling it.  Off at her table, Ickiana watches most likely plotting her own game.

Outside Luciana knows that DisGrace is behind this. Miguel says it's just a mistake, but she isn't buying. What a coincidence that everyone else in inside except them.  David and DisGrace are there now and David clears it for them to go in, but Luciana says no thanks boss, there's no reason anymore.  DisGrace has a look like, girl please, you know he'll get you in there.

Inside Leo, comes to his mother's side to see what's going on and she tells him that the boss has gone to handle it. She introduces Brian to him.  This is the friend I was telling you about. Oh so you're the famous Brian.  They exchange the usual pleasantries..blah blah.  I hope you've heard good things.  Of course, my mom would never talk bad about anyone.  I know.  You're a Lieutenant?  Brian gives a little smile, yes I'm also campaigning for Sheriff *grin-chuckle* But enough about me. Tell me about you.  Gag!

David pleads with Luciana to go inside, it was just a mistake.  Yes, because you were on the list.  Oh what a coincidence that it was me and Miguel who were left off the list, how convenient right miss?  David thinks Luciana is mistaken to blame DisGrace.  Miguel is now on board with Luciana's theory and he backs her up. Why would I want to do that?  Because you didn't want me to present the wine.  Luciana says DisGrace wanted everyone to focus on her pictures and art.  She doesn't care about the wine, it's just about the party.  DisGrace acts butt hurt, but Lucia says whatever you can come for me, but stop harassing Miguel because he should be in there.  Kick her ass, Lucia.  Go change, put your boots on and drag this chica for filth.  David diffuses the situation and says let's all calm down and have a good time.  There's still plenty of time for you to grab the mic and go say what you had prepared.  Really?  But now Miguel is being a drama queen, and says there's no point anymore (shut it dude) David tries to be nice again, but Miguel-ito says he's going but Lucia can stay if she wants to.  Oh like she will after that production Miguel.  Lucia rightfully looks torn now and she says she isn't going in to a place where she's not well received.  Oh brother.  C'mon kids!   Sorry Luciana, you failed your dad on this one and let DisGrace have her way. +1 Disgrace/ 0 Lucia

Soo-sun delivers a message, Luciana and Miguel are leaving.  What? Susan tells her that Luciana got mad because they didn't let her in and so she left. No, they still would have let you in Luciana.  Leo says they need to leave with her and so does the rest of the scooby gang. Marta says no, I'm going to go see if I can get my girl to be mature and say her speech.  If not, then you all can go, after all it's your hard work that made this event possible. Wise woman Marta!

Outside Miguel tells Lucia he's not going to let such an important night like this ruin her. She's frustrated that once again it's her word against someone else's.  Marta and Leon come out, but it's no use. Luciana can't be persuaded to come down off her mount Vesuvius of anger.  Marta wants to leave with her but Luciana says to stay and have a good time and take care of the kids. Marta says everyone is in there to take care of them including their grandmother.  Lucia insists they go in and have a good time.  Marta says fine and asks Miguel to take care of her daughter. Oh don't worry Marta, I'm sure Smug-elito is all too happy to HANDle your daughter.   Do I sound bitter?  Miguel has his girl now all too himself and I know he's not a bad character or near the cunning or evil of Lil and Grace, I can't help but think that he's a bit of a manipulator who enjoys when Lucia's anger works in his favor and seems to encourage and bait things.  Anyway her tells her that they can't let this night pass when she looks so beautiful. If she wants to forget this night, then leave it in his hands.  He promises he's going to do whatever he has to, to make it the most unforgettable night for her.   Grrr! Go away Smuguel

Fernanda who must have found her grandmother's play book,  begins her silly high school games by walking Peter around like a show dog on a leash in front of Tano, while giggling.   If he looks miserable, it’s not because of her, pretty sure it's because of Sooh-sun!  Whatever.

Meanwhile Gutierrez tells Lilian darling that he must go.  He doesn't want Marta's daughter to see him, but Icklian says he can't, she went through a great ordeal to keep her out of the pa-hty.  He seems impressed and she says she did it all for him.  She's got some connections/friends that she wants to introduce him to, influential people in Sonoma. Go, on..you need their support for your campaign…it's a must!  He agrees.  What's next?  Tea and crumpets for Gutierrez?

Fer comes to congratulate her father on his speech and evening. She says the speech got her so emotional she wanted to cry.  He's the most wonderful father in the world.   Fer takes tia DisGrace, to meet someone, presumably..not Pee-tearrr.  Right then David gets a call from Cesar who wants to know how the event is going.  David tells him about Luciana being left off the list and her anger.  He tells Cesar she left.  Well did you try to talk to her.  David says yes, he apologized and everything but you know how foolish she is and she left with Miguel.  Cesar reminds David of the decision he made regarding Lucia, it's best to keep things that way.  David knows, but he didn't think it was going to be so hard, he can't stop thinking about her.  Cesar tells David he's worked so hard for all of this, enjoy your event and your work.  Share it with your family.  That's all you can do at this time.  David knows his friend is right and sends him a bro hug and luck with his operation.  DisGraceful comes up and tells David she's very distressed by what happened.  He says he doesn't wants to talk any more about it.  It's best to drop the subject.   He leaves her standing there again…to go and talk about the event with some guests.   Fer comes up excited because the person she wants to introduce to her Tia is alone now, but just as she's ready to go, Peter comes up. He's brought Fer the drink she wanted. She takes it and awkwardly introduces him.  He says DisGrace is as beautiful as her nice. Fer mutters under her breath, that it's obviously not him.  Such little bitches.

Sonia comes sauntering by with a glass of vino in hand. She is inhaling the fragrance and it appears to be seducing her senses.  Leo is seduced by her appearance because his jaw drops and he does an appreciative head turn.  Sonia!  Leon.  You look very, very good.  Well thank you very, very much, Leo. I'm only saying the truth.  Well I only have eyes for love.  She whirls around to see her senor, who is standing with Bobby at a table. Ay..mi amor.

Fer tells Tano he looks great and he says she looks pretty.  She asks where Susan is because she hasn't seen them together.  He makes up a flimsy excuse that she's been busy.  Fer pokes and then leaves, provoking Susan to come back to the table to throw shade about what she just saw.  Tano leaves and pours himself a drink.  He's got two messed up chicks on his hands.  Speaking of messed up chick, maybe Sonia has had too much wine?  She comes up to her senor and slides a hand up his shoulder and turns him.  She gives him a sultry look while uttering her felicidades then proceeds to drape herself around him like a boa.  Mi Senor…mi sssssenor!  She keeps his hand on her hip even as he tries to remove it twice.  You gotta give Sonia some credit, she goes all in with very clear signals.

Lilian wonders who Gutierrez is looking for.  He lies and says a waiter, he wants more wine.  He's going to go find one, but Lil stops him saying a waiter will come to him. Right then Marta crosses by and he tells Lil he has to go to the bathroom, but he walks straight over to Marta.  Hi.  What are you doing with Lilian.  Nothing, just saying hi.  What happened with your daughter. She left.  That's a shame, I'm sorry.

Adolfo congratulates David on his wine.  El Amor is a grand wine. Juan says  that what he told Adolfo.  Adolfo says well don't think this is the only bodega on the market.  David welcomes healthy competition an Adolfo thinks it won't be long before his time arrives.  David is confident in the quality of wine he produces.   Adolfo says he learned about his success today, it's the people he works with and help produce.  Lucia was the one that made this possible.  Adolfo says David better take care of her, because he may steal her from him and David will lose part of his success.  Lilian comes up like a snake, quiet.  Adolfo how good to see you.  He tells her they need to go eat next week.  She smiles and takes him away arm locked around his. She asks about Erica, is she in Europe?  No she's finishing up her post grad but she'll be back soon.  So does she have a boyfriend?  I don't know all I want is for her to return…blah blah.  Lilian has one eye on Adolfo and one eye on where Gutierrez is or rather who he is with.

Miguel has taken Luciana to the cellars where the wines are stored and is opening a bottle of the new wine, just for the two of them to enjoy. He says he'll pay the boss back the next day.  Lucia says she doesn't know what she'd do without Miguel. He tells her that it's time for the most important thing. What? The speech you were going to give, I know it's not the same.  She says no, but he says c'mon it's just you and me and your father what better audience do you want?   He gives her a glass and tells her to present the wine.  Please beautiful.  Sorry, I didn't really pay attention to her grand speech because, I was sort of over it by this point.  Pretty much she broke down each note and fruit, and how it made her feel in relation to her father or something like that.  If she didn't want to go into the event and give her speech then this recapper didn't want to hear it anyway. Maybe someone else can pick it up.

Marta toasts to Brian and Marta brings over Adolfo to help further those Sheriff aspirations.  Adolfo makes the connection that Gutierrez was a border patrol officer to which Marta is very surprised and even a bit sickened. You were in immigration?  Oh nasty move Lilian.  Brian says let's talk about my campaign and leaves the two ladies to duke it out.   Marta says you knew what Brian did.  Marta says what makes life fun are surprises don't you think?  You're enjoying it right?  You have no idea.

Lucia says Miguel was right..this was the best presentation the wine could have had.  Miguel said all she needed to do was listen to him, he's sure her father heard her and is very proud of her.  She thanks Miguel for everything that he does for her, which recapper does have to admit, he always has her back.  Miguel says it was really unfair what happened but maybe this was the way things were supposed to end up, here.   Lucia says today she had all of her expectations and illusions ripped away. She was a fool to think they were going to give her a rightful place.   Miguel says she already has it..by his side.  He says those three little words.  She doesn't say it back, but her lips sure do.  They get busy with some intense kissing that I think is way past the friend stage.

Juan tells DisGrace congrats on the success of the event; and without her work none of this would have been possible.  This nudges David to acknowledge her again and tell her that it wouldn't have been possible without her partnership.  She uses this moment to drape herself all over him.  Lilian approves.

Miguel and Lucia are really raising the temp in that cellar and I'm concerned about the wines. I mean optimum temp and all.  Anyway Miguel is unzipping and she's unsnapping.  Lucia do you want…..?  Shssss!  I guess that's a yes.

Bobby who had obviously fallen asleep, asks for Lucia. David lies and said she didn't come but he'll see her tomorrow.  Bobby is ready to go home and Marta says she'll take him.  Grace says she'll be by to give Bobby a kiss goodnight.  David attempts to explain things to Marta regarding Lucia, but she cuts him off and says don't worry.  She leaves to go get her things.

Fer is yapping with Peter, and Tano casually says good night to her in passing. She seems bummed to have missed her big impact tonight.

Gutierrez comes to speak to Marta who only wants to know if he was really a border patrol. It was a long time ago..blah blah, he didn't like it.  Everyone has done things they don't like, but everyone can be redeemed.   Marta explains why she feels the way she does about border patrols.  Brian says well they're doing their jobs.  He manages to wrangle a date with her on Sunday. Marta hope he'll get to meet her daughter.

That daughter has finally put the brakes on what this recapper thinks would be a huge mistake and to the rapid fire, lip smacking that is like nails. Sorry I love a good make out session, but sucky-slurpy-smacking turns me off.    Miguel says don't worry,he knows this isn't the moment or the place.  Now that they're together he's going to show her how important she is to him and how important it will be for them the first time.  Nope. I forbid it Smugelito. She's for DAVID!  He says he wants more than anything to wake up next to her and see her smile.  She thanks him for believing in her and giving him her heart.  He says it's forever.  At least until she stomps on it with her boots and then David picks it up and hands it back to you.

Fer tells David she's very proud of him and she knows her mother in heaven is also proud.  She's proud of her tia too, and what they did together was incredible.  Lilian says they make a great team..I swear!  Fer says each day she admires her tia more.  Juan says DisGrace is a great business woman.

Back at the employees house,  Lucia asks how the event was and Carito says if you wanted to know you would have gone in instead of treating the boss bad.  Ouch! I loathe Carito, but she's got a smidge of razon on this one. Leon and Tano tell Lucia to ignore, and Ramon says it wasn't the same without them.  Leon says he does think she threw a tantrum but she says it wasn't, she's positive DisGrace had something to do with their names being off the list and she's shocked that David doesn't believe her. Well he may not believe you but have no idea what awesome things he said about you.  Really? What did he say?  Miguel never one to be out done by David says well the truth of course…that you're incredible and no one compares to you.

At breakfast David and DisGrace are discussing the success of the event on social media. Sonia come in with breakfast for David and three tiny slivers of cantaloupe and one green grape for Grace. What is this?  Sonia says well you told me you wanted to go on a diet because your pants weren't fitting anymore, so I'm just following  your orders.  I never said that..so bring me some haaawt cakes.  Well okay then, but don't complain later.   She tells mi Senor that she's going to deep clean his room if he needs anything.  Pivot - hair toss.  Oh that Sonia..she's a blessing for sure!  David says they have to to the stores and restaurants to discuss orders.   Bobby is tired and wants to skip school since his dad kept him out late for the event.  David says no can do, but he's glad his son was with him last night. Bobby says he agrees with Fer that their mom would have been proud to see her flowers everywhere and to see his father so happy.   DisGrace jumps in to tell Bobby that she contacted her athletic friend to send the autographed items . Bobby is excited and runs to share it with Lucia.  David says he needs to go talk to Lucia too and DisGrace tries to stop him saying Lucia is going to try to blame her again. David says for her to meet him at the truck/van in fifteen minutes.

In town, Brian and Lilian meet for breakfast and she's blah blah…all her connections. His campaign. He realizes he's indebted to her and she makes sure he's aware of it.

Bobby tells Lucia what DisGrace did for him and she's happy for him, but cautions him that he can't always solve his problems like this.  He tells her he missed her yesterday.  David says you weren't the only one. He dismisses Bobby to ask Lucia why she left. Was It another tantrum? No it was because I felt humiliated and because she felt she hadn't been given her rightful place. David says he already explained but it seems to him that she preferred to leave with Miguel instead of coming in and saying what you wanted to say.  Lucia says it seems like he's jealous.  Yes..because he's a man and his blood boils every time he sees her with Miguel.

Edited: I'm adding Luciana's speech for those who are interested. I have to add that while I was miffed at her for stomping off like a child with Miguel;  this delivery was a great moment for IB.

The wine tasting grades tell us that this is the best wine that our vineyard, Los Angeles Winery has produced.  It's strong, eloquent and rich in nuances. But on this night, the tasting grades are not enough; because this wine is named Love..and that's something that goes beyond the five senses.  I can tell you the elements that I taste, but the truth is that not even all the notes/flavors together can express the bitterness of my tears when I was separated from my family; or when my father died.  Just as the sweetness of the barrel can't express the happiness I felt when I came back, nor the sweetness of hope... knowing that even after a terrible thing, love can be reaped again along with the promise of a better future.  This is the wine I'm introducing today...Love.

Thank you Delilah, that was really good. I loved this part: "David and DisGraciela examine the handiwork and David says it all came out perfectly. She's glad he had the confidence in her. He excuses himself to go and greet some guests, leaving her alone."

I got the impression she was a little miffed that David wasn't arm in arm with her, presenting her around. Oh did you all get a load of her "Little Mermaid" dress? Also, did you notice that DisGrace (loved that one Delilah) kept pushing David to get things going? She was just making sure that he didn't notice or know that Luciana hadn't arrived inside the facility. If David had any wits about him, he would have gone to her family's table where she wasn't and would have asked them to find her. He should not have started the show without Luciana's presence there. I don't blame her for being hurt over all this because she is smart enough to know when she has been sabatoged by DisGrace. And through all this, David doesn't catch on! Even Miguel doesn't catch on. What is it with these men? Why can't they see through all this sabatoge?

I loved this too: "Ickiana knows her daughter did something and she asks her what she did. Why little ol' me? Nothing. *evil grin meets evil grin*" Like mother, like daughter, right?

I laughed again when you said: "Fernanda who must have found her grandmother's play book, begins her silly high school games by walking Peter around like a show dog on a leash in front of Tano, while giggling." So now it's like Grandma, like granddaughter in this case. Are all the women in that bloodline vicious and conniving? (Well except Lisa, but look where being nice got her.)

Thanks again for such an enjoyable read.

Cynthia

Thank You Delilah, We are on the same page, great write-up.

And in a case of abject stupidity, on a level hitherto unbeknownst to humans, David leaves his phone with Graciela.

Luci and her slobbering chihuahua Miggy are getting on my last nerve. Who on God's Green Earth gets into a full blown make out session in line with everyone going into a wine tasting? Here in FloriDuh they would have soon been wearing a bucket of cold water.

The mermaid dress did not flatter DisGrace, she is not in Luci's league body wise. And the toned down makeup, WOW !I guess she didn't want to scare anyone.

"Oh Miggy, slow down, not here." "Not bent over one of these wine barrels." "I want my first time to be perfect."

"Yeah, Luc, you are right. How did you make it through all those drunken frat parties, then, my adorable?"

Delilah this is a masterpiece and thank you.

"Miguel watches her like she's a steak dinner...... I can't help but think that he's a bit of a manipulator who enjoys when Lucia's anger works in his favor and seems to encourage and bait things"
Miguel's behavior is a huge red flag in any world but TNland. His chop licking, hovering, snarling creeps me out. Is this really sexy? Is this really love? He's no different than Juan or Mark.

"DisGraciela" Perfect and contrary to ya'll I liked Graceila's dress, makeup and hair and beautiful with her skin tone. She is also a professional and had things running like clock work and the party was an overwhelming success. Didn't need Luciana at all

Luciana and Miguel left David's house before David and if Luciana was a real professional she would have been there an hour before the start, long before DisGraciela. Instead she and Miguel are last in line, playing handsy and kissy.

Exactly Tofie. And from experience, I can tell you no woman I have ever been with would even begin to think about letting me lick her face off before an event when she had spent part of the afternoon putting it on. Hair, same.

Maybe a quick almost touchless peck, that's it.

And Miguell, the super Chihuahua, his collar is too tight, or his brain isn't getting enough blood for some reason. Sheezo somebody buy him a hooker and let Luci catch her breath.

And in what bizarro world does your drop dead gorgeous keynote speaker buy a new dress and spend half a day at least getting ready, then just flake out and not show up? And further, does the boss make any effort to find her? Call her on HIS PHONE? Send someone to look for her? "Um boss, she was in line right behind me, so she wasn't in a car accident." I have seen a lot more effort expended to find someone when they were late for a staff meeting.

OMG, Delilah! Thank you, girl! This is so deliciously detailed, savory and snarky! I got to get breakfast but I love your tone in this and I see we're team mates:

I prefer David's, more restrained I-want-to-touch-you-so-bad-it-hurts body language

and

Nope. I forbid it Smugelito. She's for DAVID!. . .She thanks him for believing in her and giving him her heart. He says it's forever. At least until she stomps on it with her boots and then David picks it up and hands it back to you.

More later but thank goodness she put on the breaks! That would have been TACKEY beyond belief on her part, thinking of what this night was supposed to mean for her, honoring her father's hard work on the land she and he were ripped away from, to end that night having been barred by the bitch, to end that night on her back in the cellar with admittedly impulsive Miguelito thinking he'd done her the greatest favor of her life! I was so afraid they were going to do it and then David, DisGrace (love it!) and some lingering guests would stop by the cellar to see where the Love Wine is stored and get an eye full and nose full of disheveled, freshly ****ed Luciana and Miguel! Luci would have been mortified while Miguel would puff himself up and give David one of those defiant, long, "she's mine" gazes. OH, THE HORRROR!

I LOVE this:

Nope. I forbid it Smugelito. She's for DAVID!. . .She thanks him for believing in her and giving him her heart. He says it's forever. At least until she stomps on it with her boots and then David picks it up and hands it back to you.

Later, and thanks again!

Oh LiLa: I can't help myself, I just have a naughty mind.

Reading above about your Luuuurve interruptus scenario I just thought:
Their premier Reserve wine.....LOVE..and their discount grocery store brand 'Fresh F****d Lucy', from THAT barrel.

Sorry
kirbolito

Thank you, Delilah.

As much as I was grooving on the Pretty on display in this episode (yes, this includes Marta's slightly frumpy but figure-flattering referee dress and Luciana's inappropriate-for-this-thing-but-damn-girl dress--but, mainly, Sonia's classy black dress and Graciela's full-on Elsa getup), two things stuck out:

1. If Luciana was the keynote speaker for a vineyard's major product launch event, and the speech was supposed to honor her late father and her boss's partner, why the hell was she waiting in line to get in? That was so plot-mandated it hurt.
2. I'm debating who's more overtly possessive about their woman: Miguel or Tano. Miguel at least is a bit more low-key about it, but still.

Okay, three things--since Leon has now heard Brian Gutierrez's full name and met him, this seems to reinforce the theory that only Luciana (and maybe Ramon, I'm still not sure about him) will be the one to connect the dots between him and her deportation.

...all right, fine, four things. Whomever Sonia ends up with...let's just say he won't be the one turning her out. She's got at least two years of pent-up frustation to work out.

Maybe Erica will be worthy of David when she returns from Europe.

While Marcos stuck the vine in the ground 20+ years ago I fail to see Luciana's contribution nor why she speaks of the land as if it were her own.

Anyway, her speech was good and too bad given in a cellar to one adoring fan as foreplay.

Well said, tofie. Luciana's speech was genuinely good, and it gave Irina Baeva a nice acting moment--but they couldn't wait, say, five minutes before going from that to Luciana and Miguel making out? Boo, show.

As for the hitherto-unseen Erica...assuming she's falling into the general twentysomething age group when she shows up, I'm thinking she's either a spoiler for Miguel/Luciana or possibly Tano/Susan/Fernanda. Or possibly just a wild card villana thrown in to confuse the hell out of us.

Thanks, Delilah. I have only read the first few lines of your recap, but "WOwie wow wow " was EXACTly the look on MOby Dave's face when he saw LUci all dolled up.

As for Miguel's bad kissing skills...Boy must have been practicing on someone all those years that he and LUci were separated. Maybe some ganes of spin the wine bottle. Just sayin' He had to learn those moves somewhere unless he is a kissing savant.

Thanks for bringing the heat, Delilah. It is 30 here, and we had snow and sleet last night. Awoke to fire engines and sirens which scared me awake, but it turned out to be the local fire company taking Santa out for a tour.

Thank you all so much for stopping by and reading my recap. This is my first recap for this specific TN.

Biill, I have edited my original recap to include IB's speech at the very end for those who want to read it. It was lovely and well delivered by the actress. I just was having my own berrinche because I wanted her to deliver it in front of David and the other's not waste it on Smug-elito. Can you tell I don't care much for him?

Anyway, it was a great episode and yes, Lila.. Luciana getting it on with that leering lip licker would have been all sorts of cheap and wrong.

Susanlynn, I'm glad I'm not the only that finds his kissing horrendous. I'm sure the actor is a hit with some, he's just not my cup of tea.

I have to agree that as a key note speaker standing in line and not being there early and ready next to David was ..utter rubbish <--- (said in Lilian's voice).

Again, thank you all so much for taking the time to read and comment.

Kirby @10:02 HA! don't apologize. . .it just completes my thought! ;)

Bill C. Thank you for this:

1. If Luciana was the keynote speaker for a vineyard's major product launch event, and the speech was supposed to honor her late father and her boss's partner, why the hell was she waiting in line to get in? That was so plot-mandated it hurt.

YES!!!! DUH! When you're on the program for cripe's sake, you don't wait in no friggin' line with the guests! That was sooo stoopidly contrived!

Even then, yes, I agree Delilah that Miggy is manipulative. Luci was ready to go on into the event and Miguel butted in with HIS objection that it was no use. Luci let him do it. she's gonna get enough of that one day, I can feel it. That speech WAS beautiful and she could've gone in their, delivered it and got a wonderful reception. Miggy, the nerve, thinking that getting skewered on the wine cellar floor was a substitute for this missed opportunity!

Let's see what my girl does after learning that Big Dave's blood boils when he sees her with Miguel. Maybe Ericka is going to be somebody that David is actually interested in and she'll get her chance to feel what blood-boiling is like. The dynamics as they are aren't moving her toward Dave at all.

Bill C. you are so right! Keynote speakers do NOT wait in line. They are on the printed program for the event and usually just walk right in because they are obviously in the program!

Thanks, Delilah. The energy in your recap jumped off the page. My fave: DisGrace acts butt hurt, but Lucia says whatever you can come for me, but stop harassing Miguel because he should be in there. Kick her ass, Lucia. Go change, put your boots on and drag this chica for filth.

Yep, Luciana blew it by not going inside and giving the speech in her dad's memory. But I do like it when she takes no crap from Graciela. But, alas, Luciana has no strategy.

I'm Team Miguel but I admit that makeout session was not pretty. Funny how pretty people don't always look pretty when they're hooking up. Miguel was just too grabby.

Favorite moment: Sonia delivering the teeny tiny breakfast to Graciela. What a hoot!

Uh..Well..DElilah..I actually intended to type "mad " not "bad" kissing skills. Ummm..I think that Miguel is a pretty accomplished kisser, and I prefer hopeless devotion to the wishy-washy easily led passivity that is old Moby Dave. However, it was getting mighty hot in that wine cellar, and I did not want Luci's first time to be in that place at that moment of disappointment. Kudos to Miguel for being able to put on the brakes . To me, that shows that he loves Luci and does not just desire her because he could easily have kept going and had his way with her....But he stopped immediately, and I admire that. Susanlynn, fan of soulmates and hopeless devotion

P.s. Loved the new nickname "Disgrace". I liked the dress even though it is not my style. I thought the color was perfect for her. Sonia is a hoot and a half. More of her, please. finally, "Soo_san" made me giggle because it is exactly what my Colombian friend Omar calls me.

Niecie..Yes, I loved the breakfast that sly Sonia delivered to Disgrace. Ha!

The breakfast for 'My jeans are getting tight' was just too funny. She brought DisGrace half a carrot and a friggin grape, not enough to keep a pet turtle alive. (Maybe her plan was to starve her to death). I'm sure DisGrace made some statement about her jeans, typically fishing for a compliment, and Samuri Sonia pretended to take her at face value. Of course rail thin Sonia can play that game.

Hmmm wonder if there is a TN specific poison which accumulates, such that by the time it's effects are beginning to surface, it is already too late. I'll drop Sonia an email.

Sue....Good kisser? Reminds me of feeding a stray dog.

Delilah, that was a delicious and captivating recap. One can tell you really had fun doing it. I especially enjoyed the new name "Disgrace". As one commenter stated, this was a masterpiece. Thanks a bunch.
Helen

Delilah! So very happy to read your wise, insightful and deliciously wry words once again.

Superb.

"DisGraciela", "he trails behind her as she takes her little prize trophy in, most likely to rub under Marta's pert nose" and "Marta dressed in something that resembles a referee shirt minus the whistle" were among many favorites.

My favorite scene of the night? "She gives him a sultry look while uttering her felicidades then proceeds to drape herself around him like a boa". OK. It seemed to me that David's reaction was so not scripted. Gabe Soto laughed and his eyes lit up. I have a feeling he enjoys Sonia/Veronica every bit as much as we do. She looked absolutely lovely first of all. Secondly, can you blame her obsession, her savoring the fine David?? Nopis. "Pivot - hair toss". Smile.

And yes Niecie, "Sonia delivering the teeny tiny breakfast to Graciela" was great. Graciela seemed only mildly miffed but anything that doesn't involve David doesn't seem to overly concern her. :)

“Miguel watches her like she's a steak dinner he's going to have later, complete with a little lip lic”. Totally agree Delilah. It is more than a bit disconcerting. But the truth is I think they have to start transitioning the Miguel character a bit if we are to truly root for David. The writers seemed to have ramped up his salivating from wistful, wishful glances to full on starvation. Down boy.

Brian navigated the potential stormy seas between Lili and Marta fairly well. I don't think he would have dodged a face to face meeting with Luci as well though. That is bound to happen if he doesn't smarten up. He still isn't even fathoming how angry Marta will be when she finds out.

Delilah, thank you! A real treat.

Diana

Thanks Delilah!

Still Team Miguel ;)

Luciana should've gone into the event and given her speech like an actual work professional though. I agree with the point made above that Gracie actually had the thing running like a charm except for leaving Luciana off the guest list.

Delilah- Are you pulling triple duty now, recapping three shows?! It hasn't slowed you down. This recap was just as wonderful as all your others.

I caught a few bits and pieces of this episode. Love that I got to see the Sonia-David scene. Ha! I've always loved Veronica J and I'm glad she's getting to inject her own brand of goofball into the character of Sonia.

I thought it was bratty of Luciana and Miguel to not enter the reception, once David and everyone else were alerted to the situation. Not only was it immature and unprofessional, it also gave Gracie exactly what she wanted.

Glad that Luci's first time wasn't on the floor of the warehouse.

Thank you, Niece, Helen, Diana and Vivi for stopping by. I so appreciate the comments!

Vivi, this was indeed my third recap this week. I had great fun regardless of the work it required. If a show is popping on all cylinders as these three are then it's a labor of love to retell it. As Helen said, I had fun doing it!

I'm anxious for this Ericka to arrive. It sounds like she's educated and if she shares a passion for wine as David and Lucia do, then she may be the one to get Lucia to start actually fighting for who she really wants instead of settling for the lip licker.

"Feeding a stray dog" Kirby that is a perfect way to describe Miguel's hungry, sloppy, feed-me-now kisses.

Totally agree Vivi that it was bratty and immature of Lucian and Miguel. It's getting very tiresome.

I love Luciana, but she keeps talking about her rightful place. What is that exactly? She's a girl who came back and helped to get David back to doing what he loved, and nothing more. She hasn't been there all the years it took to cultivate these grapes or the wine. The writers are getting a bit heavy handed with all of this Lucia saved the grapes and the vineyard.

Delilah: AWESOME RECAP! Excellent!

Vivi: Graciela will keep on winning until somebody has the cajones to expose her secrets.

Dy77: Gutierrez running for County Sheriff I see. He better pray not to see Luciana face-to-face because he's successfully dodged so many close calls before.

Kirby: You liked Carito's hot look ? I'll be shocked if they have Leon stuck with the spoiled brat in the end. I want her anvil to come fast!

Diana: Graciela still on a roll. It's looking like she'll be sleeping with David.

Tofie: You've noticed the Red Flags that Miguel is one of the villains ?

Steve: Ya think? Miguel a villain? I missed that flag, but I will keep my eyes open.

And Graciela and David boinking? I'd say that is a sure thing. She wants that stuff so bad she'd kill for it.

Carita is kinda cute. If we could get her away from EvilPerl and give her to the nuns for a couple months, there is hope. But then, EvilPerl is going to need at least ONE person to visit her in Jail. because NOJuan else will be there for her.

We better buy Guttierrez a box of BandAids for his meeting with Lucy. He is a big tough dirty-ass cop, but if Luci recognizes him it will be German Shepherd, meet hornets nest, a stinger on steroids. That mean little bitch will be on him like stink on shit.

The bad thing about Graciela, is she has just plain outsmarted everyone who matters. Lucy has the cajones to expose her, as does Tano, but her secrets are hidden under a mountain of sugar and honey and clever, clever lies.

I have noticed NOJuan's English sounds like any regular normal American. Marta, Gut, SueSue, and the others sound like when my car talks to me.

Gracias, Delilah. This is a masterful job. The big however is...

Please; it's almost 2017. Can we stop believing that virginity is of any real importance? Ignorance of sex is not a virtue and leaves many women at a serious disadvantage.

Having said that I will second the thought that the wine cellar would have been a terrible place for Luciana to experience sex the first time no matter whom she got her groove on with.

Fashion commentary:

Luciana: Great dress, but it should have been something long instead. And how did Miguel miss getting her the matching earrings? They ended up on Brigiduh on ECDLP.
FerBrat: Not an awful dress, but black? She's a little young for that.
Susan: No, just no.
Marta: Nice dress, but not formal enough for the occasion. She should also have had an upswept hairstyle.
DisGrace (love that nick): Ice cold, and is it the fashion for villanas lately to have that sweeping side braid?
Lillian: Good hairstyle, but her dress should have had sleeves. At least she didn't have tasteless jewelry.
Sonia: Best-dressed and best-coiffed, especially relative to her usual.

Loved her diet dig at DisGrace.

More later.

Steve, I think Miguel could flip real easy if Luciana ever attempts to leave him for another man, any man. He is convinced she is his property and his destiny since they were children. Once he locks her down he'll lock her in all to himself. Perhaps she can resist being nearly destroyed like Susan.

I think we will be meeting Erika shortly. I have never seen the actress who will play her so I don't know whether she will be good or evil. What I do think will happen is that she will be more competition for David. This recent success will probably inspire Adolfo to encourage her to pursue David. Behind that affable face there could be another Machiavelli.

All I can say, is to Lucy, if you give it up, in MigMaster's mind, you have just signed over the title to him. The title to YOU. Careful

Google 'Feeding Stray Dogs'.

Hey I'm glad you all (Most) have awaken. Nobody else mentioned this, but is it worth noting that they made a big deal out of FerBrat's upcoming 18th birthday? Umm...LEGAl? Takes away one of Tano's excuses to not go out with her.

Erika Lucero from 'Un camino Hacia el Destino' Road to destiny with Paulina Goto.

Remember she was the daughter Fanny Lascurain in Mi Corazón Es Tuyo.

Paulina

Hola everybody. I'm in New Orleans looking out on some ferocious rain and a thunderstorm to boot.

Delilah, what a wonderful surprise to find a lip smacking recap from you. Muchas gracias.

I think Paulina will go for Miguel or Tano, much to her father's disgust.

I mean Erika. Paulina is no longer looking for a guy. She got a prize one.

"sounds like when my cat talks to me". Kirby, your comments are always interesting. This one just might be my favorite. I listen to ESL students all day, so the comment gave me a giggle on this cold, gray day. They may start looking like cats to me now.Ha

P.s. NOt all guys who are attentive, affectionate, and caring are deranged. I guess that in today's world nice guys are getting scarce, so people tend to view them with suspicion! I think that MIguel is very intimated by his patron, but I hope that he does not go all BSC when LUci ends up with Dave . I think the writers intend the endgame to be Dave and LUci. Maybe ERika will end up with Miguel which would mean that Miguel will end up at her dad's vineyard. It will be interesting to see if this new character is a good girl or a bad girl. I would like another good girl to show up for Miguel to love. Susanlynn, fan of good guys

Delilah, good recap. Luciana was quite lovely
In that black and white dress, and davy was
Pretty hot lookin himself. They look great together. Like I said before, disgrace was over
Dressed, tho I did like her dress. She did not
Complement david. At all, not like lucy did. By the way I did hear that speech, it was very
Beautiful. If david would have heard that speech he only would have had eyes for lucy that would have pushed him over to team lucy. Period. And the writers know it, so we'll
Be stuck watchin this love dance between
The mig and davy. I found myself hoping somebody was taping the speech in the winery and posted it for all to see. But no, we
Will have to wait for the big day when these
Two finaly can't not fight that lovin feelin no
More.
I agree with you Del, she should have gone Inside, but miguel does seem to use her anger and tantrums to get his way. I think he does love her, they don't match. Not like her & David. I just reeeeeeally like david for her. the Chemistry is there. Not so much with the Mig. Anyhow, thems my thoughts in it.

Merry Chistmas yall :-D. Thanks Delilah.

Maybe erica is a good girl. She'll be good for miguel. If shes a good girl. Just cuz I don't want to see him with lucy, I don't want to see
With no dirty dog either. His hearts gonna be broken, he'll need a good person to help with the mending of the broken heart, thats comin his way.

Thanks Sue. In life I am supposed to fix things and make people smile.

Kirby...I think that those are two good life goals ! I have a friend who used to call his grandparents Pappy Fix and Mammy Mend !

Thanks

"Mt. Vesuvius of Anger" Good one😆

Note to Miggy: You and Tanto are in the same age group, as are, actually, FerBrat and Luci.
Look at the Tanto approach, FerBrat would lick his shoes. Sometimes a tiny bit of 'Not quite so into U" works better than logic would indicate.

The world is not ending this weekend. Go tag Perla and get your mind off Luc for a while, and show NOJuan that you two are almost like brothers. Ha.

Thank you, Delilah. "What's next? Tea and crumpets for Gutierrez?" Mmm, crumpets. Er, I mean, yes, he'd do tea and crumpets if that's what it takes to become sheriff. He'd dance in a tutu if he had to.

I agree that Miguel is "a bit of a manipulator who enjoys when Lucia's anger works in his favor and seems to encourage and bait things." I still think he makes more sense for Luciana than David does, but he seems to have this sense of entitlement (where Luci is concerned) that rubs me the wrong way.

Extra thanks for including Luci's speech even though you were irritated with her.

So, is it for sure that Marta didn't know who Gutierrez was all along? I don't know why that disappoints me so much. I guess I was really hoping she had something up her sleeve.

I thought it was crazy that the keynote speaker had to wait in line and be checked against the guest list at all. She wasn't a guest! That whole thing of her not being able to get in, or David not getting in touch with her, was so contrived and ridiculous, it was genuinely annoying.

Kirby: "Hmmm wonder if there is a TN specific poison which accumulates, such that by the time it's effects are beginning to surface, it is already too late." Do you mean arsenic? I don't know about TNs specifically, but I think that's how arsenic is used in fiction generally. (Of course right now I can't think of a single example.)

I wonder how Graciela got Lucia and Miguel's named removed from the printed guest list? Did she have time to access to a computer and then print out a revised guest list? Did she have time or the opportunity to do this?

And, Gutierrez's uniform is a mess. It has officer stars on it, but sergeant strips on the sleeves. I thought he was supposed to be a captain.

GoBlue and Julie: I believe we are watching a TN below our pay grade. There are so many things which require an unbelievable effort from the audience. Like:

IE: Japanese Bunraku, where the puppeteers are in plain sight, but the audience happily pretends to not see them.

no, no, no...Miguel is not a Juan.

UA: I'm expecting Erika to be evil!

I'm expecting Erika to be nice, because I don't think David's vineyard can accommodate any more evil. She'll get caught up in one of these love triangles/polygons and wreak havoc through no fault of her own.

(My track record for accuracy is about 5% for predictions of this type. I'm just wishing for a new character that I can like; but I realize there's a good chance she'll be horrible.)

Julie: Gutierrez probably taking a page out of the Frank Underwood playbook in his campaign for County Sheriff.

How old is Erika ? Gutierrez needs a trophy wife in advancing his political career.
