Vino el Amor - Episode #28 - Thursday 12/8/2016: The Shirtless Dueling Dudes
Sonia is slowly winning Fer and Bobby’s admiration but Marta is still #1.
Luciana finds David in the wine cellar. She wants to know if the reason why they can’t be together is because of his children or because of Grace. He answers that he would never use his children as an excuse to not be in a relationship with her.
[Anita's earlier musings---
While Luciana and David were in the bodega, where he was checking the readiness of the wine, he told her he missed having her there with him and reminded Luci of their kiss and the feelings it provoked in him. Was this appropriate?
Luciana answered with a question. She asked David if they were being kept apart because of his children or Graciela? Luci has talked at length about keeping their relationship strictly business and everything points to her and Miguel being an item (according to Grace's running mouth). Is she admitting to him that she does have feelings for him, beyond business?
So, we got more of the backstory on Juan's resentment and desire for revenge with the David Daddy, Juan Daddy, David and Juan. Sound a little like LQNPA?]

A lot of stuff went on last night, but for me the highlight was the confrontation in the bodega between Miguel, David, Luci and Grace. Luci was very uncomfortable that Miguel started assuming their relationship was a done deal and for David to back off.
I noticed that Luci kept her eyes on David and he on hers as she talked in generalities.
I'll be doing the recap tonight, so it may not be until tomorrow morning that I get it posted.
"Was this appropriate?" Well, considering that he is her boss and it's on company time, no... but it was a talk they probably needed to have.
For ME the highlight was Miguel and Dave working without their shirts on. But I'm shallow.
Susanlynn said: Hi, Julie. Even though I would choose Miguel over morose downer Dave, I think that Luci will end up with Dave. When Dave and Miguel were shirtless, OLd Dave did win the sixpack competition. Guns.
Julie said: Yes, Dave did win the sixpack contest, with guns. But Miguel could probably get bigger guns too. And Dave's sixpack could disappear after eating just a couple of Twinkies. So I'm not giving Dave an advantage there.
Gracie likes Davey, but Davey likes Luci, But Miggy likes Luci too, But Carry likes Miggy But Lenny likes Carry.
And Seesary likes Susie but Susie likes Tanny, but Furry likes Tanny better, but claims to like Sammy
So Sonny and Gracie and Luci are all crushin on Davey
And Luci and Carrie are crushing on Miggy
With Susie and Ferry crushin on Tanny
Oh Damn I'm gonna put a secret sticker on her locker.
So what was the deal with Miguel and David in the bodega without their shirts? It was quite entertaining for us ladies....
Ah, David. He's not direct enough with Luci. He just gives her those longing looks, steps into her personal space, then attempts to slo-mo in for some more of those hungry kisses he devoured her with and a few tepid, tentative "I like yous." She's not as confused as she thinks she is: she knows she wants David but she wants him to be more clear, you know "the Latin way." Miguel is very direct but I'm beyond tired of him making declarations of love and essentially begging her every day to be his woman. Luci is just as indirect with him as David is with her but Miguel should have gotten the message loud and clear the way she was so unresponsive and constantly watching David for his reaction to Miguel's publicly marking his territory. Luci needs to tell this guy once and for all that she's only interested in being his friend, and that's it. Trouble is I think she's done that and Miguel won't take "no" for an answer and just keeps dogging and dogging her heels.
Finally though David was sort of direct in telling Gracie not to let that hugging thing happen again as if it's an involuntary, spontaneous thing that happens when Gracie is around. He needs to back her up out of his personal space, look her in the eye, rap her on the nose and firmly exclaim "NO! Get out of my face and get your ti** and hands OFF ME NOW!."
Ah, David. About to have three hands up your backside working you like a dollar store puppet. This is not going to be pretty. I felt good when he was holding firm on firing Juan but after he fell for that guilt trip Gracie laid on him, I think we're in for weeks of David been led around by the nose, or arse! Pity!
I vote for much more conversation between Luci and David, wherever it might transpire. David is always so solemn. We've been graced with few true smiles except those for his children and of course, after the sweet, soft exploration of Luci's mouth after their kiss.
I'm with Julie and Susanlynn on enjoying the shirtless labor. And our Lila's "Ah, David. About to have three hands up your backside working you like a dollar store puppet. This is not going to be pretty" was awesome.
Cannot wait until tonight's episode and your recap tomorrow.

;)
I know everyone is anxious to talk about Friday's episode, but hey, we have all weekend. At least I can tell you that everyone is "game on" on Friday's Vino, except maybe poor Tano.
Anyhow, let the flexing games commence . #winteriscoming.
"But to be fair, Miguel is the one that usually brings David up"
A cheerleader from 8th grade through university I had my fill of grunting, flexing, testosterone oozing boys trying to impress and why the whole Miguel/David runt ridiculous. Maybe that's why I fell for Mr. tofie, the long haired intellectual with a peace sign earring. Unknown however, under that billowy man blouse, dude was ripped.
Let the games begin. Both David and Miguel are good guys but Miguel is winning the battle so far. He has nobody trying to undermine him and Carito is nothing but an annoying little gadfly.
David taking him back was his dumbest act so far. I'm rooting for Miguel.
Susan needs someone more mature who won't fly off the handle the way Tano does. What he did when Mark called was far too impulsive and will not benefit the situation. And Juan should be disbarred for his interference in this.
I swear when he kisses Perla I always think he is going to stick to her.
If I were a betting person, I'd put down money on Tano and Susan breaking up when they realize they are just utterly, completely wrong for each other, age and maturity-wise.
I am Team Miguel, David is a grump. Both of them can wear tank tops all they want as far as I am concerned. Team Gun Show here!
dy, what a perfect description of David--Grump. I may have to borrow that for Friday's recap. It's coming soon to a front page near you.
I'm team David, grumpy, dim, no game, one-note, whatever you call him, I still want him with Luci.
I love Miguel, good guy, salt of the earth, full-blooded, full-bodied, yah, he dah man but not for Luci. Main thing is Luci can't even dream of Miguel ringing her bell. She's saving those chimes for David. Miguel's going to get the gong!
Since Miguel is the worker who is actually doing the heavy lifting in the vineyard, he should not be outgunned by patron. Suspend disbelief. ...jeje must have been working out in his home gym despite his grief and deoression.
I am surprised by MIguel's mad kissing skills since we have been led to believe that he hasn't been practicing those skills since Luci was sent back to Mexico. Natural talent then?
NOJuan is a nasty, pompous, humorless weasel, but a verra handsome , nasty, pompous , humorless weasel with luscious lips. It happens.
P.s. Does the wardrobe department hate Lilian, too?
Lila, you have a way with the words, girl. Dave needs to listen to a little Al GReen and BArry WHite. Ooh..HOt CHocolate !! "Every Juan's a Winner."Then, this show will suddenly turn into How DAve GOt HIs GRoove Back.
OT..p.s Lila, have you started book one , or is it "do not open until CHristmas?"
Yeah if he were to sneeze I'd bet they would explode. Ja Ja
I enjoyed every word - well written and great fun.
"Okay the next scene is…. I don’t know" and "She sure complains a lot for an artist or whatever she claims to be" were among my favorites.
"It seems ridiculous that Susan feels so threatened by a little girl". Doesn't it? I was actually embarrassed for the character in taking Fernanda seriously, especially since Tano clearly has eyes for her alone. Susan needs a man to discuss her plight with and with all due respect, Tano doesn't fit the bill. This isn't about what dress to wear to the formal but about reclaiming her house and her life. Far too much for any young man to process, let alone address.
Thank you for filling in all the blanks Sonia (there were many for me). Well, well done!
I have to dash but can't wait to read your recap Anita.
