Vino el Amor - Episode #42, Thursday Dec 29, 2016 - Did anything happen worth repeating?

Hola, Amiguis--
Note from Anita: Due to miscommunications, there is no formal recap for this episode. Here's what has been cobbled together with the help of our Caray posters.

David went and visited Marta and Luci, ostensibly to say goodbye. The sparks and yearning were palpable, and not lost on Marta.

Leon comes strolling through the vineyard with Miss Erika and they run smack into Luci and Miguel.

One minute you had yearning between David and Luciana and the next Luciana was her normal combative self towards Erika, and the first thing out of her mouth was, hey, girlie, Miguel's mine. Her jealousy showed. Erika, well, she was cool as a cucumber

Sonia is in the kitchen, wiping tears from her eyes. Lil walks in and says, "What's wrong?" Sonia asks if she really cares, to which Lil replies, no she doesn't. All she cares about is whether Sonia can perform her duties. Sonia says, "I thought life would turn out differently for me, but now I see that it is not to be. Fine, I'll be the same old Sonia you have always known me to be." Lilian reminds her that it's her job to get Marta away from the children. Then Sonia turns to leave, but says, "oh by the way, Adolfo Ballesteros called for you." (I wonder what that is all about? He's the next door vineyard owner--has he ever met Marta? We know he hired Luci for one hot second.)

Mark and Juan are in league, of course, and Mark forced a meeting with Susan, telling her that if she went back with him, he would dismiss the charges, which she declined.

Graciela calls Luci (from the hotel balcony overlooking La Plaza Mayor in Mexico City). She needs the technical data on the wine asap for the presentation she has to give that night. Luci refuses to give it to her. Gracie knows she's being dissed, because, of course, she knows nothing about wine and is only there for adornment and an opportunity to get as close as she can to David.

Luci realizes Gracie is in way over her head, wine knowledge-wise, on this honeymoon tour with David and she should have been the one chosen. Obvio Luci wants Gracie to look bad in front of David. She's inwardly still in a snit that David didn't choose her instead of Grace. (Huh? She "didn't" want to be with him and he "didn't" want to be with her--they agreed. Pshaw, give me another moment to adjust my Spandex Beanie.)

Tano gets arrested in English and in Spanish. Everyone is freaking out as he is led away. (For a young man who has grown up in Sonoma, California, and assuming he attended school there, I'm surprised he speaks hardly any English.)

Marta calls Gut about helping Tano, but he's preoccupied with Lil, who threatens him. Once again.

David instructs Juan (still on the balcony) to pay the d*mned bail and get Tano out of there. Fernanda texts Tano--she hasn't heard from him and wants to know if he's ok.

Juan tells the workers there's not enough in petty cash and what they have gathered together isn't enough (as he inwardly gloats) to get Tano out on bail.

Tano is now behind bars and Susan is sniffling all over him. Luci finds out and comes to the jail, demanding to see Lt. Gut.  The police flunky at first tells her (without checking) that Gut is too busy, but then goes in to tell the Lieutenant that a Luciana Munoz is there to see him. He's in a dilemma because he recognized her name.

The police bring in two big honking bruisers and lets them in the same cell with Tano. Tano is rightfully scared.

Thanks for posting this, Anita. I didn't see the episode and in fact only this morning did I get caught up on all the recent recaps.

Sad to say, I don't think my beanie is big enough to help me accept what is happening to Tano. It makes no sense.

Another thing that crossed my mind as I read through the last week's recaps is that I wish just for once, David and Cesar would talk about soccer or something, anything besides David's FEELINGS. That's all they talk about! And even so, it's all about Luciana and not about the rest of the craziness going on around then. Like, David should tell Cesar about how he keeps running into Gracie in her underwear or topless and jeepers, Cesar, what do you suppose that means? THAT would be a good conversation.

Julie--Oh my, you are so right. In fact, David doesn't even ask Cesar how his love life is going.

I'm glad I have a Spandex Beanie (TM) to wear for the whole novela. This business of David not being able to "be" with Luciana because of his children is getting to be old, if not nonsensical. It would be much more fun to watch if they decide to be together and they keep dodging folks who might discover them and they have to act like boss and employee everyday. What to do with poor Miguel.

About Tano. I hope Juan gets into a LOT of trouble for not getting him out. Tano is an experienced vineyard worker, besides having grown up on the estate. He's worth more out and working that for David to lose another worker. (I guess they made up for all the temps that ran off.)

Bail is bail. If they set bail at $10,000 some time that morning, he obviously had some kind of a hearing. Why wasn't he jailed on the spot for not having the bail money and leaving him there until the family/friends/employer come up with it. Too much doesn't make sense, but we're forced to go with the idiotic flow from the pens of unschool writers.

Bah, humbug.

Anita- I only ever see the last two minutes of this (that bleed over into my Color recordings) so I can't help. I'm sure not a ton more happened, except people running around panicking about Tano being arrested, while David remains clueless and the villains gloat.

I have been watching Amor Bravio this vacation week, which is on at 11am, so your scenario where the boss and employee pretend to be just that, while keeping their relationship secret, is reminding me so much of that tn (and of course your avatar too). Camilo and D'Andres sneaking around and making out in her cabin, and anywhere else there could grab a quick kiss, in between raising bulls, was a lot of fun. David and Luciana should take notes.

Camila, not Camilo. Autocorrect!

Anita, thank you for the brief but spot on recap.

"Tano is now behind bars and Susan is sniffling all over him" pretty much summed it up. LOVE the Spandex Beanie (TM). Are they for sale at the store where all the TN items are sold? I'm harkening back to the expression we used (did it start with FELS?) where patio requested items are sold.

Julie, I'm in total agreement that this whole thing with Tano is senseless. I'm still scratching my head as to how he landed in there because of a phone conversation.

I must admit I saw the entire episode, but am drawing a blank on most of it. There was a lot of fretting and wringing of hands, pleas and threats. Mark and Juan were in league of course and Mark forced a meeting with Susan, telling her that if she went back with him she would dismiss the charges (I think) to which she declined. Also, David went and visited briefly with Marta and Luci. The sparks and yearning were palpable, and not lost on Marta. Also, Marta did make a call to Gut, but he was preoccupied with Lili, who threatened him. Once again.

The first of the two most noteworthy events were what you noted. Tano being jailed, made even more horrifying by the appearance of two huge, very unfriendly cell mates. The second was Luci (and Miguel of course) actually going to Gut's. He looked panicked. Rightly so. So, the question is, fight or flight?

Thanks Anita!

Thanks Anita:
Biggest. Bitch. Ever YOWZERS, Luci turned on Miss Erika like the little pit viper she is.
What a witch, well, I liked another word for her but it only had 4 letters. You know, I hope she stays with her dog Odie, I'm sure Garfield wont mind, she doesn't deserve a normal guy.

Tano's goin to the pokey. Hey he aint the first fella got locked up. It is the local city jail,
not Alcatraz for twenty. They're not taking him down to start removing parts or something.
They way they were carrying on you would think he had a date with Ole Sparky. Must be the first time I fell asleep watching someone getting hauled off to jail. I DON'T CARE These Tano/Susan/weeping and gnashing of teeth and sackcloth scenes are like a Toyota or Cicatricure commercial, click.

Luci may not realize that DisGracie is in way over her head, wine knowledge wise, on this honeymoon tour with Daveeed, and needs to pick her brain before every presentation. DisGracie is beginning to look more and more like that Boiling Frog anecdote. She has more messes going at once than a four year old. That Stoned Goat Stare is beginning to appear more often as her little Estrogen-brain whirrs to cope with her latest self-induced disaster.

I am beginning to warm up to David a little. Maybe not enough to feel sorry for him for his lack of cerebral horsepower, but he actually is a nice fellow, and does not have a mean molecule in his body. There is no excuse for holing up in your bedroom for two fricking years when your children just lost their Mother, but he is trying to make amends.

I should have mentioned somehow Leon comes strolling through the vineyard with Miss Erika and Lo and BeHold runs SMACK into Luci and her slobbering dog Odie (sometimes called Miguel). Now my above comment should start.

David is prob too much of a gentleman / DOLT to mention to Don Cesar about DisGrace DisDain for clothing when he is around. As Cesar was just telling himself the other day how he really for sure maybe in a gadtrillion years sees something, with him and Gracie.

I prefer Tano stay in jail a little while, at least long enough for him and Soo--San to consummate their relationship through the bars. Hee Haa.

Guard ! Guard! Oh My, I'll come back.

One minute you had yearning between David and Luciana with Marta strategically between them and in 10 minutes Luciana was her normal combative self towards Erika, with the first thing out of her mouth, hey girly Miguel's mine and her jealously showed. Erika, well she was cool as a cucumber.

There was a scene where Sonia is in the kitchen and she's wiping tears from her eyes. Lil walks in and says, "What's wrong?" Sonia asks if she really cares, to which Lil replies, no she doesn't. All she cares about is whether Sonia can perform her duties. Sonia says, "I thought that life would turn out differently for me, but now I see that it is not to be. Fine, I'll be the same old Sonia, that you have always known me to be." Lilian reminds her that it's her job to get Marta away from the children. Then Sonia turns to leave, but says, "Oh by the way, Adolfo Ballesteros called for you." (I wonder what that is all about?)

Sorry but we will have to leave everyone in the lurch regarding a recap. There were some miscommunication problems.

We'll have to go with what we have. I'll craft something out of the comments and watch the first half on xFinity as soon as they put up the episode. Thank you all.

The future posting is mainly for posterity since we'll have another episode tonight.

Vivi--I'm watching, saving and transferring to disc every single episode of Amor Bravio. These two, Silvia and Cristian had the best, most natural chemistry between them I've ever seen. Once they were committed to each other, their devotion never faltered--even in the face of supreme trials and tribulations. I liked that so much.

Anita, don't worry about it.
First, with this show you can miss a week and not miss anything.
Second, some of us do not watch the whole episodes or not every night.
Third, a new eppi is on here in less than two hours'
Fourth, we all appreciate what you 'cappers do, but it aint no payin J O B.

If anybody is behind, or something does not make sense, all they need do is ask and someone here will gladly fill them in, It has worked before.

Thank you, Anita! Agree with Kirby. Between what you posted and our friends' comments, this pretty much covers it.

So Luci is getting back at Gracie for the wine launch fiasco and, more importantly, having gone on the wine tour with David. Man, she's bitter and David is not too bright for taking Gracie along and she doesn't know squat about the wine. Couldn't this combination of Luci's tantrum and David's oversight cost them bucks they don't have?

Also agree Luci's attack on Erika was bitchy and hypocritical. Erika should feel fully confident they can beat Los Angeles winery after her encounter with Miguel and now the yapping Luciana: I'm sure she sees the competition as unprofessional, immature and defensive. Erika learned a lot about their insecurities and vulnerabilities. Just wait til Erika runs up on David and Luciana together, Luciana will hand her her ponytailed-head. Wonder what David will think of Erika.

You guys have probably discussed all this on other recaps which I haven't had the pleasure to read. I was surprised this came on last night as my listing also said "Latin Grammys." Thank goodness for Hulu+.

Thanks, again!

Thanks Anita for putting this up. This telenovela is just fun for me (except for the human trafficking part of course). I enjoyed the tourism and Gracie's eye rolling, and Erika just pwning Luciana in this particular episode.

thanks, Anita. "Tano gers arrested in English and Spanish." Heh

Poor TAno. Soosan seems to truly care for him. Maybe they will end up together. he is a verra handsome guy...Despite the hair. he just needs some guidance.

Juan and Markme are weasels, but at least Juan is a good-looking weasel. Markme makes my skin crawl.

Hi Anita. This show is gettin on my last nerve. Why do they have david be so blind to the people around him. Lucy tells him the truth and he just explains it away, and lucy and me just stand there lookin at him. Im annoyed and he continues to distance himself from her. And she goes back and pretend to be in love with miguel. And Every freakin night its the same. But I'll keep on watchin , cuz things change. I hope soon. I'll comment on tonights episode tomorrow.

Thanks Anita. HAPPY☆NEW YEAR☆
