Vino el Amor #55, January 17, 2017: Vino el Date Night at the Vineyard
In this episode, one couple has a really good date, so good that Univision censored it. A few others do not have as much luck, and one pair breaks a date. Plus we meet new character Ingrid and introduce a wine competition straight out of a Hallmark movie. Oh, and of course, Luciana and David grump around together and separately and break up again even though they have yet to go on a date.
Repeated scenes: Miguel and Luciana have a dumb fight. Leon gives Sonia a gift and they are the real deal. Gracie is not painting well, and Lilian is not helping. A dirty, scared and hungry girl jumps out of some vines at Leon.
This episode:
- Luciana tells Susan how much she enjoyed Mexico City. She feels like she could live there if the visa doesn't work out. (Forming a prayer circle now.) Susan tries to hint that Luciana is lucky to have choices in her life. In other words, Susan would like Luciana to listen to her worries for once. Luciana finally gets the hint, so we get to hear Susan whine about breaking up with Tano and having to live with grungy Mark in order to free Tano. Luciana has a "SMH" look on her face about all this. For once I agree, Luciana.
- The girl tells her tale to Leon. Her family collected money to send her to the USA to work. Now they don't know where she is. He thinks she should return to Mexico, and go to Mexico City for work, but she doesn't want to. She wants Leon's help. Leon's next bright idea is to talk to Patron, because he always helps the people without papers. She really doesn't want to do that. She tells him about the bad set up of Juan and Mark, how the migrants are basically in a cell without food or water and how she was sent to a cruel employer who treated her poorly. So she ran away. Leon takes her to go clean up and eat.
- Luciana reminds Susan that she shouldn't allow Mark to live with her. Susan tells her not to judge. Luciana empathizes with Susan. It is a bad situation. Susan says it was made even worse by Tano seeing Mark trying to kiss Susan. Then she switches to asking Luciana about Miguel. Luciana says she is angry with him for helping Erika. Susan just laughs at Luciana. Luciana is still jealous and wants Miguel nowhere near Erika. Susan rolls her eyes. Heh.
- Gracie and Lilian have another go-round. Lilian says the most important thing is to keep Luciana away from David. Gracie says Fer is the key to this. Lilian says nope. She thinks Gracie needs to step on the gas of the make-David-mine car, but Gracie needs to finish her painting first as her career matters too. Lilian tells her that she always preferred Lisa because Lisa always got it done and Gracie can't even get her man. Lilian tells her to finish the painting because she'll need to please her agent since it's not working with David.
- Luciana thinks the vineyard went into complete chaos since she left. Whatever. I kind of recall everyone coming together to solve the bad grapes crisis and give statements in the poisoned grape investigation but hey. Susan recalls that she didn't tell Luciana about the big quarrel between David and Cesar. She babbles a bit and Luciana is surprised because they are such good friends. Susan says the quarrel was because Cesar has been dating Gracie but on the trip Gracie and David kissed. OOOH. Go to the top screencap to see Luciana's exact reaction. Of course after that, she starts stomping around and ranting as she does. She thought she meant something to David. Susan points out that David was just moving on as Luciana did with Miguel. She's sorry to tell her, but she needed to know.
- Juan asks David out on a date. (Just kidding! He asks him to go out for drinks after work.) They remember the good times of going out in their younger days. Then David gets excited. There's an annual wine contest in Sonoma. He wants to make a young wine exactly for this competition. I saw this movie on Hallmark Channel called Autumn in the Vineyard with the same plot. I feel like I should warn David that the woman's vineyard wins. David feels like winning this will recoup some of the losses on the ruined wine. He'll have to beat out wines from New Zealand and Europe. Juan loves this idea.
- Back to Luciana's rantings to Susan. She is going to confront David about this kiss. He had told her he had to back-burner romance for the kids. Susan tells her to not do this as Cesar had confided this as a secret to Susan. Susan basically then tells Luciana to go with her actual boyfriend Miguel as opposed to her dumb fantasy with David. Luciana berates herself for once and says this is what she deserves for having a heart divided in two. Susan replies there are times for all when we want something we can't have and we all have to suck it up buttercup. Susan and Luciana hug and sigh.
- Miguel and Tano yap about women. We're complicated! Especially Luciana. FF>> Sadly, Miguel decides the best thing to do to repair the fight with Luciana is not go out with Erika, so he calls her and breaks their date (I know it wasn't a real date but they were going to meet up). Erika is an actual mature woman about this and understands. Can you imagine calling up Luciana and breaking a date?! STOMP RANT STOMP would ensue! Erika does zing Miguel with a little flirtatious dig she gets in about the upcoming wine competition. I bet she watched the Hallmark movie.
- Luciana and Susan are still going on about the big kiss. Now Luciana is having a pity party, since Gracie really does have the lead in this competition for Grumpy David. She's part of the family and tight with Fernanda. Susan doesn't think it's that in the bag for Gracie, but Luciana is resigned. David just isn't going to be hers. She thanks Susan for telling her the truth. Gee, I wonder if this will be the end of it? Nope, as my notes put it, "She starts again." Susan gently encourages Luciana again to move on with Miguel, but Luciana likes to confront things! She's going to confront David.
- Leon brings the girl to the vineyard's cold wine cellar/makeout room. He'll go and get clothes and food and supplies for her.
- Now poor Susan is actually trying the time-honored classic tactic of pretending to return to work to get a whiny colleague to leave your office. Or maybe she really even is trying to work. We know that never deters Luciana from a good rant! Luciana doesn't care about where to start a grape harvest, she is still on the big David/Gracie kiss. Oh yeah, what was up with the police investigation? It already happened and we all testified. Susan isn't sure if they will be able to catch the person with sufficient proof, as everything was scrubbed clean. Luciana says that she'll give her statement and so will Leon. I love how she thinks her statement will totally turn this around. Ugh she's so self-involved. She'll also ask Marta to get Brian to help. Susan thinks that will help.
- Bobby -- at his age and attending a US school -- does not know his states yet. Or his North from his South as it's the Dakotas he mixes up. Bobby is a mess. Lilian doesn't think Marta knows enough to help him. Oh please. Gutierrez thankfully calls Marta and breaks this up and I kind of loved that Marta spoke to him loudly enough for Lilian to hear them make a date for Marta to come over and cook at his place.
- Tano sweeps the employee patio and gets a visit from Fer. He tells her they are all busy getting ready for the harvest. She is looking forward to it; Lisa had told her to get involved with it. She thinks it will be fun because she will be with Tano. They hold hands. I think they are cute! Team Fer/Tano here. Uh-oh Peter has come to visit (employees quarters?) and says so that's why you dumped me.
- David and Juan discuss the big fight with Cesar. David tells Juan it was caused by the big kiss with Gracie. Juan is tickled pink as he is definitely Team Gracie/David.
- Tano leaves Fer and Peter to talk. Fer gets mad at Peter for making Tano feel totes awk. She tells Peter it's her, not him, but they're done. Peter begs. He'll be the best boyfriend. They'll be king and queen of the prom! Fer says she'll think about it. Peter leaves. His shirt says "Let's Get Lost." Heh. Tano comes up to Fer and says he doesn't like Peter as much as he did before. Fer says she's not into him anymore.
- David tells Juan he needs to think about work, not Gracie. Especially with their first vintage as a team, they need to be professionals. Yes, professionals, a word strange to this vineyard. Juan points out all the pro-Gracie arguments - she's in the family, your kids like her, she supports you at work, intelligent, talented. David says she's all that, but it's not the time. Juan tells David it is time to move on with his life.
- Leon brings the girl the promised clothes and supplies. They hear a noise and Leon tells her that Tano thinks there are ghosts. He wants to introduce her. The girl does not want to meet Tano or any other vineyard hotties. Leon encourages her to eat a sandwich. He realizes he never told her his name, so he introduces himself and tells his tale of how he came to the US very young, hungry, cold and illegal.
- Fer is whining to Gracie about the Peter situation. She tells her it's not just because of Tano, she also finds Peter immature. Gracie tells her that she's not sure what Grumpy David will think about this Tano thing. Fer asks for her help, but Gracie's not sure she can give it. David is being a little distant with her and didn't like a business idea she had. She thinks it's all because Luciana is back. Fer is like UGH. Gracie agrees, but doesn't feel like she can do anything about it. Except manipulate Fer into doing something about it, which she does, and Fer tells Gracie she will work on it. Gracie cautions her not to fight with David.
- Leon tells the girl that she really should let his boss help her. She says she needs a few days. Leon tells her they will be busy with the harvest, but she should just stay put in the wine cellar. (What? No one will see her there? She's in Miguel/Luciana's makeout chamber!) The girl is grateful for Leon's help and introduces herself. Her name is Ingrid.
- It's time for the good date! Marta gets a tour of Brian's apartment. Starting with the bedroom, lol! He tells her she's the first guest he's invited to his house because she's special. He snuggles up to her and sweet talks her a bit. Her tacos are the best. Marta says she always cooks for those she cares about. They kiss passionately...
- My notes say Bobby talks to Dad about life, the harvest and Charlie. FF>> Luci comes in with a gift for Bobby. It's a weird yo-yo. He likes it.
- Brian goes for second base with Marta and she tells him no. She needs time. He thanks her for making him a better and happier man. He's been with many women but it's different this time - he loves her. That's all the time she needed and they return to the makeout session.
- At the steakhouse, Adolfo and Lilian are on their date. He's yammering on about how grandma Lilian needs to get out of the house and go on a Baltic cruise with him. She snarks to the camera about how she's basically lowered herself to this, but luckily there is someone else who knows what she really likes. Back to the yammering, and then to some chatter about the upcoming wine competition. Adolfo thinks his vineyard will win. It will if they are copying the Hallmark Movie I mentioned.
- Luciana, Bobby and David talk about inviting all the employees to a party. Bobby leaves and Luciana gets to talk about what she really enjoys talking about - herself! She tells David she needs to talk to him privately. She asks him about this rumored kiss and David confirms it happened. Luciana - wait for it - gets upset! David says it meant nothing and starts quoting Mr. Brightside by the Killers, repeating, it was only a kiss, it was only a kiss! Luciana wants to know why they can't be together but he can be with Gracie. It was only a kiss! Luciana says kisses aren't out of nowhere. David finally loses patience and points out the many makeout sessions with Miguel he has witnessed.
- Adolfo and Lilian's dinner is finished and so is Lilian who declines his offer to do something else. He goes in for a goodnight peck and she moves away. He says they'll have fun on the cruise. Then she coldly tells him not to be confused. She only wanted a friendship. Adolfo thought she wanted more. Adolfo was wrong. Their bad date concludes.
- Back to our grumps. Luciana asks David if he kissed Gracie like she kisses Miguel. David says no and Luciana had already decided to be with Miguel. Luciana remembers that David said they couldn't be together. David remembers he told her the kids come first. Luciana remembers agreeing because he told her there was no room for a woman in his life. David says that's true, and there's nothing with Gracie, it was only a kiss. Luciana says she doesn't care what his reasoning is, she's hurt. David said he was hurt to hear she was marrying Miguel.
- Back to the good date! Except now it's a censored date courtesy of Univision. You can see the faintly NSFW sex scene here (go to the 33 minute mark and turn on the anti-virus software) or here (47 seconds censored scene only, but it's YouTube and the related videos are full of spoilers). That is, if you want to see Brian and Marta get it on. I personally was satisfied with the post-coital massage. Marta is just plain satisfied and they go in for round two.
- Back to our grumps. David does his thing where he puts his face into Luciana's and pleads his case. He tells her of the importance she has in his life. She tells him it confuses her more and backs off.
- Brian zips up Marta's dress. She thanks him for a perfect night. He tells her he is serious. Marta knows he is an honest man and will be true to her. Brian figures it's best he confess the deporting Luciana and Marcos thing now, and starts to do so, but Lilian stops him, thinking he's confessing the dating Lilian at the same time thing. She tells him it's OK because he chose her. Brian looks very worried as they embrace.
- Back to the grumps to close out our date night at the vineyard, only there will be no goodnight kiss here. Luciana wants to move on. David says she has the freedom to do so. If only David had believed in their love, says Luciana. They are really close to kissing. David tells her his feelings are strong and he doesn't want her to leave and be angry with him. It hurts him and affects him deeply. Tomorrow is the harvest and he doesn't want them to be angry. Luciana agrees they should make an effort to work together well for it and be thankful for the fruit. David says he is grateful she is back. Luciana tells him she's not even sure they can be friends. David urges her not to say that. Luciana tells him to let her be happy with Miguel because it's too confusing with David. David says he is thankful for her either way it went, because she changed his life forever. She tearfully takes her leave and he tearfully watches. I'm just glad Date Night is over!

I hung on every word. A fantastic title and theme and I so enjoyed your comparing the events to a Hallmark movie! I smiled all the way through. So well thought out and conveyed.
"Leon gives Sonia a gift and they are the real deal", and "Yes, professionals, a word strange to this vineyard" were among many favorites. "Forming a prayer circle now) had me laughing out loud.
I have tried to avoid that Luci is rather self centered at best and utterly selfish at worst. These do not appear to be in line with traits of most of the leading women roles. Your honest and simply stated words rightly indicate Luci is at least the former and may be the latter. When you start frustrating your bestie, Susan, you need to realize you need to stop your ranting and raving. Pronto. "Susan replies there are times for all when we want something we can't have and we all have to suck it up buttercup". Indeed. Luci can't have her cake and eat it too (although she is fairly close to doing so, isn't she?
And let's face it, she has gaul to even mention David and Graciela's kiss. David is right. How many times did he see her in a passionate embrace with Miguel?
I liked the way Erika is handling herself. She knows what she wants and she is being proactive toward Miguel without being clingy or needy.
"Lilian tells her that she always preferred Lisa because Lisa always got it done and Gracie can't even get her man". Stone. Cold.
Interesting that Lili dismissed Adolfo so quickly. I thought she might use him but she made no pretense and was her usual, warm, caring self when she rejected him.
I admit I cringed a bit when Marta spoke to Brian in front of Lili. I do not think tantalizing Lili and throwing her relationship with him in her face was a smart move. I'm waiting for her retaliation against Marta, which I am sure will be swift and terrible. And of course Brian should have told Marta about deporting Luci and Marcos BEFORE they did the deed. All the makings of (another) disaster.
When ARE Luci and David going to kiss again??
Finally, a Mark free episode. Sigh.
That toy Luci gave Bobby was the strangest. The bottom part was too large and unwieldly to ever be able to sit in the cup. Wisely, Gabe gave up after trying it once or twice.
dy, this was terrific. Thanks so much!
Diana
"STOMP RANT STOMP"
"Bobby leaves and Luciana gets to talk about what she really enjoys talking about - herself!"
Diana your observation of Luciana expresses my thoughts on her too. I kinda understand why she has a chip on her shoulder now, being deported and no real support except her father. She was the center of his universe but it doesn't end there. This girl believes the world doesn't turn when she sleeps.
I also see Marta enjoys rubbing a man in her rivals face not unlike her daughter.
I just hate it when men beg when rejected. I can see Cesar doing it when he was Peter's age.
That toy that Luciana gave Bobby is one of a pair of classic wooden toys. It's not a yo-yo. I can't remember what they call it (but I may try to find out).
The one for the girls is easier to catch the ball at the end of the string because it is a CUP at the end of the carved stick. The one for the boys is more difficult because it is a SPINDLE, part of the handle. I'll leave it up to everyone's imaginations as to why there is gender discrimination in this toy. Living in Uruguay, I was given one of the CUP ones. It gets boring very quickly. I enjoyed playing jacks with little sea shells much more.
Will be back after I gather my thoughts.
Loved the Date Night theme.
Lucy is a.....I could say date from hell. WhY does she keep saying "I'm
Confused? I see no confusion here. She Loves David and she's pretending to love miguel. I guess David could be Confusing but so is she. She's with the mig but she's actin like she and Davy are together. And shes jealous of erika. AND davys like "baby it was just a kiss". I saw that kiss, It didn't look all that heartstopping to me. I believe davy, It meant nothing. This heffa has murdered her sister, how can a kiss mean anything with her?
I'll be glad when they all get it together. But there might be some bloodshed before that happens. I'm
Lookin for Mark to be murdered, and
Maybe one of the mean girls. And Susan will probably be the main one
Along with tano in marks death. Just
Guessin yall, no spoilin stuff. Its
Just that Mark is to nasty for someone to not want to kill him. He is slimmy nasty.
Ingrid, a girl on the run, for her life. I hope she gets the help she
Needs along with all the other migrants. But We got a ways to go I Guess.
I loved the way Marta bent over to show Bobby the maps while lil was at
The other end.
Thanks a bunch dy77.
tofie, I almost spit up my coffee. Hysterical!
Diana
I certainly didn't see the Brian/Marta sex coming, but that will make for a much bigger explosion when Luciana identifies him as the man who deported her and her dad.
Jealousy is the biggest fuel in novelas, bugger than greed. Marta knew that Lillian would get insanely jealous and gave in to the temptation to feed that beast; not a good idea. She might be the very one to out Brian as the migra who deported Marcos and Luciana in revenge.
As to Luciana's "selfishness", I think it's merely a refusal to own her own feelings and learn either to manage them or act on them. She may have been taught that it's wrong for her to feel as she does about David, ,but el corazon no se manda. This is analgous to Tano's inability to withhold his temper around Mark. Tano should know that his violence is not acceptable in US culture. Luciana needs to learn to keep her feelings to herself if she doesn't intend to act on them.
The most comically retarded, but likeable, male student spent many entire class periods unsuccessfully attempting to get even one Balero, with brief lapses to look up girls skirts.
I am getting tired over all this argument about “the kiss”. Luciana and David are not dating and she’s arguing over one kiss. It’s not like he slept with DisGracie. And she and Miguel always seem to be slobbering all over each other in front of David. Seems that whatever is good for the goose is not good for the gander in her eyes. She settles for Miguel but really wants David to be “true blue” loyal to her.
Boy, I did not expect Marta and Brian to end up in bed together! What a surprise! I did catch the original from Televisa online and the version shown in Mexico definitely showed more action. But that’s okay with me. We all got the idea. It’s just going to be a huge let-down for Marta when she finds out that Brian Gutierrez is the one who deported Marcos and Luciana. She will be livid and will never forgive him.
but Luciana likes to confront things!
Miss Confront Things, how about confronting Miguel and letting him know he's not The One. ITA with everyone, Luciana is not likeable at this point.
So Brian was going to confess? I know I'm alone but I don't hold it against him that Luciana and her dad were deported. Juan's the one who kept them undocumented even though they'd been at David's vineyard for years. Brian had gotten tipped off by Marta, but legally he was doing his job. But I do blame Brian for not being upfront with Marta before the nookie. When you think about, Marta knows he worked for ICE, so she knows he’s likely had folks just like her daughter and husband deported.
Lilian did Adolfo a favor. She's not into him that way and she let him know it. If he continues to pursue her, then it must be the money he thinks she has or the influence he thinks she has with David.
Kudos to Tano. He de-escalated the situation with Peter by simply walking away but hung around out of sight lest Fer needed him to intervene.
I see that Lillian dumped Adolfo, but I'm thinking he might be desperate for more $$$.
Okay, first thing I noticed when I watched this episode was ....Vests. VEsts are definitely Dave's fashion trademark, but Luci was wearing a tight dark denim vest, and Susan was wearing a safari vest (shades of Nanciyaga???. Plus, let's face it, Miguel often wears what is basically a vest minus a shirt underneath. So..By the end of this telenovela, I want to see EVERYONE in a vest..Even Bobby.
I was surprised that Marta actually gave in to the hotness that is GUt. It must have been the nice apartment, tasty meal, and vino that sealed the deal. Marta will be devastated when she finds out that GUt did not tell her that he was involved in the deportation of her daughter and husband. Also, baiting cranky Lilian about her date with Gut was not wise. By the way, Lilian seems to be the kind of person who will never be happy..No matter what or who she has in her life.
As Luci was whining to SOOSan, I kept thinking .."See, this is how Cesar feels when you are whining to him." Shoe is on the other foot, si?
Is LUci supposed to be the leading lady of this show?
You'd need to soak that stuff in water overnight before you hit it. Gut has a stronger stomach than me.
So agree that Luciana is less likable in each successive episode. I like the analysis that she was the center of her father's world while they were exiled in Mexico. She became totally self-centered. With no female role model, she had no idea how a little girl grows up to be a more balanced person who can see things from others' point of view--something we women pride ourselves in. She wallowed in her father's adoration and need for her, so she grew up thinking that, yes, the world revolved around her. Once back with her mother and brother, they are eager to shower her with love for all the time they missed.
Maybe that's her situation as she sees it with Miguel and David. They both owe her. She's the princess that needs to be rescued from the pea or the castle or whatever and they are the knights in shining armor. It is odd that the one who will suffocate her with love she keeps putting off, while the one she really cares for, she keeps pushing away. Hmmm. Ideas anyone?
Ok, David and Luciana, so kiss already. By the time you two get to it, we won't care.
Fer, listen to your aunt Gracie carefully and think. How did the last scheme go that she put you up to. Guess what? We won't care
Actually, I'm glad I had no more of Gutierrez and Marta's skin tones to watch than what Univision gave us. Yes, we can tell what was happening, but do we care?
Did everyone get a look at poor Ingrid's dirty face and knee-hole jeans as she was coming out of a tangle of bramble bushes? The shots of her from the back showed her hair perfectly clean and brushed. Even the front hair looked clean, just brushed oddly into her face. Ah, wardrobe, another laughable gaff. Do I care? Yep, it's about the only thing these days that keep me watching intently.
Erika--'cmon girl, I know you aren't going to give up. I do care to see how you handle Miguel.
Susan--If Mark has his way, you'll be dead and everyone will mourn your passing, but you won't get your HEA. Well, I guess I could finish that you *will* get to HEAven. Meanwhile, to avoide that fate, you need to grow a spine and stand up for yourself. We told you a long time ago to get yourself a good lawyer and find out exactly what Tano's chances are with the law. As we've said before, assault over the phone is as ridiculous as it sounds. He probably will end up paying a fine and time served. Check it out, Susan, Please!
Juan--How you think you can keep all this criminal misconduct against the guy who was once one of your best buddies and still court David with a straight face and a laugh at good times is beyond me. Gaaah!
Gracie--She's one determined V*itch. Her painting is not going so well, so she invites Fer and Bobby to learn from her. I wonder if she will ask David to pay for the lessons, ha. We must assume, from her earliest conversations we overheard while she was still in Spain (or Italy or wherever), that she was talented and sought after--unless Joselo pulled the wool over her eyes. I think not, though.
Her problem is she doesn't want to depend on her art to sustain her anymore. It's too much work. She wants David to provide all her sustenance, then she can paint for fun. Getting David is now hard work and she's beginning to realize that, even though she states otherwise to Lilian.
Dy77..I am requesting a spot in the prayer circle. also, the screen cap of Luci's reaction to "The Kiss" is oerfect.
P.s. It is nice to see that Luci has immediately gotten down to her "important job in the vineyard." What was that job again ?
Erika is a much better fit for David. Too bad she's been designated for Mig once Luci cuts the umbilical cord to him.
On Friday I watched this show for the first time in a whole week. I hadn't even kept up with the recaps. Nevertheless, I wasn't lost in the least. I was amused/alarmed/disappointed to find that the plot(s) had barely advanced at all.
I am also beginning to wonder what Miguel sees in Luci. He's not in love so much with Luci herself, as an idealized fictional woman that he built up in his dreams for all the years that she was away. He should grab Erika and run for the hills.
Like Anita, I'm on the Lucid team because that's where we're supposed to be headed. David is dumb and Luci is self-absorbed. I don't know how much of that is the writing, how much is the directing, and how much of it is the acting, but it's hard to get excited about. They are not the TN couple that dreams are made of.
Possibly this will be more enjoyable (and plausible) after they get together. Maybe he'll suddenly become less dumb and she'll become less self-involved. Maybe they'll become an unbeatable team that we call all root for. That was the story I was hoping for. But for now I feel like we are just killing time; rather than roll my eyes at Luci's pouting and ranting, I'd just as soon see more focus on the subplots that actually seem to be going somewhere.
Marta literally going "Oh hiii, Brian!" just to cheese Lilian off...I can't blame her one bit, since Lilian is almost literally her cross to bear, but between that and Lilian openly admitting she's still sprung on helmet-hair (and no doubt soon to find out that Marta got her groove back courtesy of same)...she poked the bear. Ditto, somewhat, Peter coming back early from his trip to Europe to try to fix things with Fernanda and being shut down cold. As he was slinking off like a sad puppy, I couldn't help thinking that he's somehow going to be Fer's karma. She can't be the ingénue without a crazy stalker, right?
Anita: Ingrid was just so darn "quick, somebody dirty up the pretty girl!" it was hilarious. The only thing that would make her funnier, in her way, would be if she became Sonia's competition for Leon.
As for Miss (Confrontational) Thing: I don't want to not like her, but I need her to just calm the hell down. Or for something David/Luci to actually happen, rather than their going around and around and around and around and around in this damn Passions Ethan-and-Theresa cycle of eternal nothing...
