Caray, Caray!

Episode #99: This is going to be quick! (Please feel free to add any other info as the most crucial things that happened were:

• Felix and Hector went to rob Casa Murat and Tobias caught them. In the struggle, Gonzalo was shot in the heart and took a tumble down the stairs. 
• Mauricio went to LA to bring Valentina back and are on their way back to Cancun having heard the news about Gonzalo. 

Valentina informs Mauricio that they’re on the waiting list for boarding tickets to Cancun. Mauricio asks, with tears in his eyes, what he will do if Gonzalo dies. Valentina tells him he won’t die because he’s strong. Mauricio tells her that he knows she doesn’t feel the same about Gonzalo and Valentina stops him right there: she’s still worried about him. Just then the airline calls their names and inform them that they’re tickets are ready. Valentina grabs Mauricio and they go.


In Casa Murat, Raquel is having a nervous breakdown because of Gonzalo’s shooting. It keeps bringing back memories of Alfonso’s old shooting. Chelo proposes that they pray and Raquel begs her to not let Ines know. Chelo promises she won’t and gives Raquel her pill.

Downstairs, the police officers ask who found Gonzalo and Beto confirms that it was Tobias. The police officer tells them that Tobias will have to go give his testimony at the police station but Beto informs him that Tobias is a minor. The police officer proposes that he go with them but Beto doesn’t want to leave Tobias, Chelo or Raquel alone. The police officer then bends down and asks if he saw who shot Gonzalo but Tobias tells him that he found him at the bottom of the stairway and he heard the shot in the kitchen. The cop asks if he saw anyone come out of the house and Tobias tells him he didn’t. Beto tells the cop that his son is telling the truth and he asks if anything was stolen. Tobias offers to find out from his mother if anything was stolen and runs off.

Osvaldo arrives at the hospital to find Angelica, Micaela, Fernanda, and Alan there. Alan confirms that they don’t know anything new yet.

In the OR, the doctors are trying to save Gonzalo’s life when he flatlines. He remembers a happier time with Ines when they first adopted Mauricio but the memory keeps fading as the doctor try to stabilize Gonzalo. He then remembers the first time he slapped Ines…when Paulina told him she was going to marry Adrian the second time and invited him to come and he accepted…when he congratulated Paulina on fighting for her kids unlike he did and thanked her for how she treated Alan and Rene…when he sent Valentina away to boarding school and she rejected kissing him goodbye…

Nuria arrives and asks about Gonzalo’s health. They confirm they don’t know anything as the doctor comes out and confirms that Gonzalo is stable for now but they have to operate soon because he has a collapsed lung and hemorrhaging and already had respiratory failure. Fernanda tells them all that he has to survive and Angelica arrives. Nuria sits down, far from everyone, and wishes for Gonzalo to die because she went through too much trouble trying to kill him.

Tobias is taking care of Raquel who keeps rambling about the red wedding. She tells him that Julieta killed Paulina and Adrian and Nuria was there with a gun and she tried to kill the children but Alfonso stopped her. Tobias doesn’t understand and Raquel tells him that Nuria, in a red dress, came after Julieta and tried to shoot the children.

The police officers confirm with Beto that the lock has been forced open to the gate and front door. Chelo then confirms that the robbers took some silver and some contents from the safe. Another cop takes the gun and ski mask left on the floor for testing and the main cop asks where they took Gonzalo. Chelo and Beto confirm the hospital and the cop tells him that he needs to talk to the family members. He then hands Beto his card and asks that if Tobias remembers anything, they call him, and leaves.

Tobias can’t believe Raquel’s story but she confirms it to be true. Nuria tried to shoot the children but Alfonso got in the way to protect them. Tobias asks her to calm down as the doctor walks in and checks on her blood pressure. She keeps shouting that Nuria shot her husband and Tobias begs the doctor to calm her down because she’s shouting lies. The doctor gives her an injection as Chelo asks Tobias to leave to help Beto.

Osvaldo hands everyone in the waiting room a coffee and Nuria is shocked at his familiarity with the servants of her house. Micaela tells her that Osvaldo visits them sometimes but she’s never with them so she doesn’t know. Angelica proposes that Nuria go home and rest but Nuria tells her she’s okay and that the only person who should be there is her. Micaela tells them that she needs to go home to take care of Raquel, Tobias and the house since the police are there and asks Osvaldo to keep them informed. Osvaldo confirms he will and that the family lawyer will take care of everything. Nuria silently worries about what Tobias might have said.

In his room, Tobias tries to convince himself that what Raquel said was a lie but also confirms that she could steal from her own father with the help of someone like Felix. He then remembers that he spoke to Felix about Nuria and they never said anything about knowing each other. He promises to find out what’s really going on between Nuria and Felix.

The next day, Valentina and Mauricio arrive at the hospital and inquire about Gonzalo. Nuria wants to know what Valentina and Mauricio were doing in LA but no one gives her the time of day. Alan tells them that they took out the bullet but they must operate on him because of the collapsed lung. Valentina prays that Gonzalo survives while Osvaldo asks Mauricio to calm down.

Adriana and Fabrizio are walking to school when Fabrizio asks if she warned Tobias about what she told Gisela and Jaime. Adriana confirms that she warned him but she had to say what she did because no one can know she’s in contact with Julieta, especially now that they’re making plans together. Fabrizio doubts she can keep Julieta a secret until she’s 18 and Adriana chides him for not supporting her. Fabrizio is just bothered by the fact that she threw Tobias under the bus to save herself because he could get in a lot of trouble and Adriana gets mad because he’s not completely supporting her and walks away.

Julieta is serving Silvia breakfast when Silvia asks her what her married name was. Julieta confirms that it was Cordoba and Silvia asks if she ever thought of getting into the advertising business because that’s what Jaime does. Silvia then warns her that Jaime may be influencing Adriana to follow the same path as him and Adrian but Julieta explains that she won’t be in advertising in Mexico because her and Adriana are leaving to Spain in a few months, when she’s 18. Julieta leaves and Silvia calls her an ingrate under her breath.

Chelo is happy that Valentina and Mauricio are back because they will take care of everything. Micaela and Beto pray to San Judas Tadeo to save Gonzalo. Beto then tells Tobias that they must go meet the lawyer so they can go to the police station and give their testimony. Tobias tells them that he’s not going because he said everything he was going to say but Beto and Chelo tell him that his testimony could help them find the killer.

The police officers arrive at the hospital and talk to Gonzalo’s family members. They confirm that they came to get Gonzalo’s testimony but they heard the bad news. Valentina promises to let them know as soon as Gonzalo’s stable so they can proceed with the investigation. The cop hands her a card as Osvaldo asks if they have any clues. The police officers confirm that they got the bullet from the doctors and the gun that was used is the same as the one Gonzalo knows. The police officers confirm that the prints were wiped off and Mauricio confirms that the gun was stored in the study downstairs and Gonzalo was descending the stairs when in was shot. Nuria asks if any of the servants saw anything but the police officers confirm that only Tobias found Gonzalo but he didn’t see anyone.

Alexis informs Leonel of Gonzalo’s condition: he’s alive and stable but in critical condition. Leonel thanks him and Alexis leaves. Leonel then calls Rene, who’s still in bed, and informs him that Gonzalo is dying in a hospital before he could give Rene his shares. Rene tells him that they are both fried if Gonzalo dies.

Mauricio tells everyone that the thieves came to rob the house when he was out but they must stop their theorizing because the doctor arrives and tells them that Gonzalo is stable but critical and only one person is allowed to see him. Everyone votes on Mauricio and Nuria goes off in a huff because she’s still in the dark about Gonzalo’s true condition.

In Nuria’s apartment, Felix is having his own nervous breakdown when Nuria calls him and informs that Tobias didn’t say anything but Gonzalo is still alive. Felix is surprised but Nuria tells him that she’ll take care of because Gonzalo must die before he tells anyone anything.

In the police station, Tobias informs the police that he didn’t see the thieves and the police officer asks how he knew there was more than one. Tobias tells him that he assumes and the police officer wonders why the thief took off his ski mask. Tobias nervously tells them that he already told theme everything he knew and the police officer asks if he knows lying under oath is a crime. The lawyer confirms he knows and his testimony hasn’t changed. The police officer allows him to go on the condition that he not leave the state as there’s still an ongoing investigation.

Mauricio goes to visit Gonzalo and begs him not to pass away, especially now that Valentina is back in their lives. He tells him that everyone is waiting for him to pull through, especially him, because he needs him at his side as a grandfather, father, friend, confidant.

Osvaldo is alone in the waiting room when Angelica comes and he asks her where she was. Angelica tells him that she was praying and Osvaldo is shocked to know she’s religious. Angelica tells him that she got close to God when Clemente took Fernanda and he brought her back. She’s hoping He helps Gonzalo as well. Osvaldo wishes he would’ve prayed when he lost her and God might have brought her back to him. Angelica tells him that their relationship is impossible and Osvaldo asks if she cares deeply about Gonzalo. Angelica confirms that she’s a lot more worried about him than she thought she would be. Osvaldo tells her that he left Maite and Angelica is glad because what he did to her was unforgivable and they only broke up because she caught him in a lie.

In the lobby, Almudena is inquiring about Alan, who she hasn’t been able to reach. The employee confirms that they still haven’t been able to reach him but they’ll keep trying. Just then, Alexis comes and asks if Alan Greepe is the guy who’s helping her out in the restaurant. Almudena confirms that he is and Alexis informs her that he’s Gonzalo’s second son but he’s in the hospital right now because they shot Gonzalo last night.

Ileana informs Carolina that Gonzalo was shot and she found out when she asked about Raquel, who was late. She then asks Carolina to go to the hospital and take advantage of the situation by getting close to Mauricio now that Valentina is in LA.

Beto tells Chelo and Micaela that Tobias can’t leave the state until the investigation is over, which throws a wrench in their plans with Karen. Chelo is sure Karen will hold their jobs but is worried about Rutilio. She proposes they tell Tobias but Micaela and Beto disagree. There’s no reason to alarm Tobias.

Valentina is having coffee with Alan and Fernanda and asks them why they came to Cancun just as Reugenio dumped her. Alan confirms that they found out Reugenio was scum and came to tell Gonzalo. Valentina confesses that he hurt her a lot but she hasn’t been able to stop loving him. Fernanda tells her that he doesn’t deserve her love.

Tobias meets Nuria on the pier by the Murat house and asks about her relationship with Felix and Hector. She ignores the question, thanks him for his loyalty and tells him that he will be rewarded for it. Tobias tells her that he hid the truth for her not for Felix or Hector. Either way, Felix knew about her and never told him he knew her. Nuria asks how he could deduce that they were the same person but Tobias knows Nuria is not a common name. He demands to know why Felix tried to rob Gonzalo. Nuria explains that she ordered them to do it because Gonzalo left her out on the street and she’s just taking back what’s his. She promises to share everything with him as soon as she has it.

Alan and Fernanda tell Valentina that Reugenio was a liar who didn’t deserve her. They didn’t tell her because they thought it’d be easier to give him money so he could go away. Valentina tells them that Gonzalo didn’t need to fall for Reugenio’s blackmail. In fact, she won’t allow Gonzalo to give him any money because Reugenio doesn’t deserve it.

Nuria tells Tobias that they need to protect Felix and Hector because they’re protecting her. Tobias doesn’t understand why he needs to protect a murderer but Nuria tells him that Felix isn’t a murderer. Tobias then asks her if she’s one because Raquel told him that she’s the one who murdered Alfonso…
