Vino el Amor, Lunes 2/6/17 Chapter 69: Advice

Some scenes combined for clarity:

Miguel cried as Luciana broke up with him while going through the best-friend-vs-lover thing. She didn't want him to hate her and he said he never could. He wondered if he could ever look at her as just a friend. After another round of verbiage on this, Luciana and Miguel kissed their childhood love goodbye.

In the employees' kitchen Marta told Lillian off, saying her own dignity didn't depend on a macho man. Lillian tried to scoff but Marta didn't stop. She went on about Lillian expecting luxuries from Fernando but Lillian insisted that it was his obligation to provide that for her “in the manner to which I was accustomed” and for their daughters. She said he became legal by marrying her “but you were only his illegal lover” and “you did the same thing with Gutiérrez for your daughter's visa.”
I didn't ask, he offered,” Marta said. “And I accepted it for my daughter.”
Lillian could only rant from there about Marta begging David for help, etc., and finished by saying she hoped that León would end up in prison “so you will pay for everything you've done.”
She strutted out with one backwards look. The country club clothes were a stark contrast to the working-class hair.

Juan snowed David about the laws, saying that the latest document about the Ingrid Incident is a warning. David was vexed that this could happen in a country made for immigrants. “The law had to be more flexible,” he said, since the girl was shipped in by El Coyote. He told Juan to pay the fine. Juan said that the others would not keep their word about paying back the $10K, saying “This is what happens when you trust the wrong people.”
Juan continued to discredit Miguel, but it did not achieve its purpose. David ordered him to pay the fine.

Erika and her father were dining out when she told him that Miguel had provided contacts to lead to hiring legal workers. He was pleased and said that from then on they would make all their decisions together. Erika changed the subject to the progress of his new relationship. He said it was a little complicated but was moving right along. She emphasized that she wanted him to be happy. [They seem to have a good father/daughter relationship.]

Luciana returned to the employees' kitchen to talk to her mother. She was upset. Marta made her tea and they had a good mother/daughter talk.

Miguel arrived at the restaurant just as Adolfo and Erika got up from their table. She decided to join Miguel at the bar and Adolfo went home. She noticed Miguel's mood, which he said was about things at the vineyard. She didn't try to get him to talk about it... yet. They had a beer.

Marta went on about how it was always hard to do the right thing but that it was better in the long term. However, she segued into telling her that this didn't mean there is a path to El Patrón because that could only end badly. Luciana told her not to worry. Marta said that “If it hurts anyone it's no good.” [Has she never witnessed a FerBrat Tantrum on this subject?]

A little while later Miguel had apparently told Erika about the breakup. She started singing his praises as a person, saying any woman would be lucky to have him. He started returning the favor. Then she started convincing him to leave the Los Angeles vineyard. Miguel needed time for this decision and Erika said to take all the time he needed. She made sure to hug him before she left.

In the family room of the main house, Fernanda told Lillian she missed Gracie and then tried to get her to read to Bobby. Lillian was so unenthused, saying that this was Marta's job. When Bobby came in and Fernanda told him she asked their grandmother to read to him he said No Thanks because she reads horror stories that scare him. They finally left the family room together. Lillian looked relieved to get back to her own book. [Does she really think that High Society Ladies still wear their pearls when curled up on the couch with a book?]

Perla was giving Juan a massage and telling him to be careful about David. Also to please leave Mark in jail. He laid the same BS on her about the alleged crime of harboring an illegal, saying that this will be a distraction that could get David, Miguel, and León all in trouble. She bought it. He speculated that David would save León because he is Marta's son, but they'd be rid of Miguel. They then got busy at something we'd rather not watch.

The next morning Carito found Miguel alone in the kitchen having his morning coffee. She wondered what was up, especially when she saw Luciana come down the stairs and leave without saying anything to Miguel. Miguel finally talked about the breakup.

Juan obviously didn't listen to Perla. He not only bailed Mark out he brought him back to his apartment. Mark now owed him the bail money. Juan spoiled Mark's good mood about that by reminding him that he needed to obey the restraining order “...because if you don't I won't be able to bail you out again.”

Marta and Miguel talked. She didn't want him to leave, but he said he needed to. He told her he was going to work hard and acquire land so he could have a vineyard like David's, then come back for Luciana. Marta told him to do these things for himself. He told her about going to work for Erika. She was shocked. She told him to really think about this first. His motivation was all wrong, but Miguel was being stubborn. [Really, we don't want to see him become another Heathcliff.]

David talked with César about Miguel's departure. He felt betrayed. César didn't see it that way. However, he seemed as ignorant of the law as David was regarding the Ingrid Incident. He knew that this was also about Luciana and pointed out that this situation left the path open to her. David said that now that things had improved with his children he needed to think of himself. He didn't want to keep his life on Pause. It was time to talk to Luciana. César advised him to proceed cautiously with his children. He should take it slow and try to get them used to the idea of him having a love life again. David said he won't wait until someone else came along to pursue Luciana.
César continued his pep talk; he favored the relationship. He wanted them to be sure of their feelings. He asked about the Succubus and David said he told her it was a no-go. He was now ready for a new and better life.

Juan told Mark they had to find a way to destroy David immediately. He told him his version of “the big betrayal” and Mark said they'll do it. They toasted to their evil.

Luciana talked to Susan about all this. She was upset but Susan told her that breaking up with Miguel was an act of love. She compared it to her own situation with Tano. It would all be for the best, but that would take time. Luciana said she understood it, but “in the meantime, what will I do without him?”

Perla brought coffee into the living room. Coffee meant for Juan, but Mark was there alone. She saw that he had her missing cell phone. He went after her again, manhandling her, and she threatened to tell Juan. He said he didn't care. He demanded to know about Susan and Carito. She told him that Susan was very boring. She worked all day and did nothing else, but moved back into her own house. Carito wasn't talking. He seemed to accept her answers but threatened her anyway. [He obviously gets off on inflicting fear.]

Luciana explained that she would miss talking with Miguel, etc. Susan told her that this was a risk. She would have to learn how to live without him.

Thank You Urban, how fast was that? Sheezo you work quickly.

I think the part I liked the best was as Mark was hammering Dave on and on about the fake fine he was screwing Dave out of, and insisting Miggy and Lion Cub Leon should be in big trouble, Dave finally completely blew his top with him. He pounded the desk as he stood and actually yelled at Mr. Lips.

The rest. Ahhh I didn't sign up to see these girls crying and wearing their clothes.

David is slowly coming back to life before our very eyes. His anger with NoJuan and on the other side of the coin, his renewed interest in Luci and commitment to do something about it are good signs. Come on Dave, strike while the iron is hot. Either of the Yo-Yo's we are rid of for the time being are bound to return before A N Y of us are missing them.

Appreciate this UA.

"Juan snowed David about the laws"

This Susan/Tano thing continues it's stupid. How is the end of a summer camp infatuation the same as a life long friendship between Miguel and Luciana?

Odd, Marta has as much opposition to Luciana and David as Graciela and Lilian do.

Gosh, Miguel the poor young buck chafing under his patron who steals his lady love must suffer exile, become his rival and fight man to man for Luciana. How romantic. Who is the galan here?

Perla should never enter or stay alone in a room with Mark.

Highlight was when David had enough of Juan's bitching.

UA, most excellent. "The country club clothes were a stark contrast to the working-class hair" and "They then got busy at something we'd rather not watch" were among many favorites.

"They finally left the family room together. Lillian looked relieved to get back to her own book". Now was I imagining it, but after the children left, did Lilian actually shake herself as though she’d been flea bitten? She seemed repelled by her own grandchildren. She is reprehensible.

I admire the actor playing Miguel more each successive day. While his tears with Luci are understandable, his wounded eyes and heartbroken demeanor were hard to watch. With Erika, he is strong and ultra appealing. I cannot wait for their romance to take root.

tofie, Perla would be wise to be terrified of Mark. And I know she is frightened, but she should tell Juan even though he is powerless to stop the wretched Mark.

Kirby, David showed fire and passion last night, which we've sorely missed. ITA. Let's hope David finally takes some proactive steps toward Luci and starts managing his business affairs more and trusting Juan less.

I shudder to think of what Mark and Juan have cooked up. Pure speculation but there is no honor among thieves and Mark will end up ridding himself of Juan ere this is over (speculation not spoiler).

I'm still a bit curious to see if Brian is really interested in Lili or if he has some sort of revenge in mind.

I forget who noted the other day that Fer is quite immature for her age. I agree. But I look forward to seeing her with the sweet Tano. Hopefully soon.

Thank you UA!!

Diana

Tofie, I love the summer camp comparison. These people even live like it's summer camp; this is no way for adults to live. I've often wondered where the children of the workers live. Do they have dorms, like the "adults"?

True, Perla should never be alone anywhere with Mark. I've been wondering what will happen when Juan finally walks in on Mark manhandling her. Will he even give a damn or will this lead to chest-beating ape behavior?

Marta's opposition to Luciana getting involved with David isn't strange to me. Apart from any sense of class distinction she knows that Lillian and DisGracie will do whatever they can to make Luciana's life a living hell. The solution to this is obvious to us: David has to evict them. Then there is FerBrat. I am still predicting that she won't be going away to college.

UA: Perla is likely going to get WHACKED!

Kirby: Erika: take Miguel & show him good smooth love :)

FerBrat's Karma will be finding out Graciela whacked Lisa!

Thanks, Urban.

Okay. I hope this is the last aftermath of break up episode. I'm ready to see David make a clear declaration of love and stand up to DisGracie and Fer. I'm also ready to see Miguel accept the job at Santa Barbara and see Erica help him see he can be at the head of a great grape empire without Luciana. And Luciana had better not listen to Marta's advice: she IS as much of an obstacle as Lilian and DisGracie! Sheesh.

Loved Erica's patient, caring encouragement of Miguel. She meant every word she said. I believe she DOES recognize a good man when she sees one. I don't think she's "light of leg" but she's surely been pursued, she's had the counself of a loving Father and she's got a good deal of native good sense. She's been upfront with herself about her feelings for Miguel, as well with Luciana, Miguel himself and her Father. How refreshing to find a character like this!

I don't know how much time we have left, but I'm looking forward to seeing these story lines develop.

Thanks again, Urban!

Mark knows Perla is of no value to NoJuan except for what he can get from her. Perla is not aware enough of her world to see that Mark knows this. It should be a big red flag to her when Mark pulls a stunt like last night. Further evidence that NoJJuan could not care less about her will be when she tells NoJuan and sees his lack of concern. Even a frog would be hopping out of there, but Perla is not even smart enough to save herself. But. Oh Well, good riddance.

I guess Miguel is supposed to be inexperienced with women, and it worked last night. "Oh myyyy, a girl as beauuuutiful as you and you don't have a boyfriend? Que te Pasa?" Has anybody ever tried that line before?

Yes Diana Lillian looked as though she was looking for her can of Black Flag or Lysol as soon as the unwashed were away.

My problem with Marta, though Luciana doesn't know, is her hypocrisy. She lives by and dispenses her wisdom based on a caste system because it didn't work out for her and her lover Fernando.

Too bad Marta is the martyr mother in the TN. She continues to pamper and enable the squires kids (why would she put up with a minute of Fernanda's mistreatment of her own daughter except that it is a wedge between Luciana and David) and neglected her own and preaches the world according to Marta. Don't even get me started on how Ramon thinks her the bees knees.

Thank you UA!

Thank you Vino el Amor for finally breaking up Miguel and Luciana! I'm with ya on Erika, Lila. It's refreshing to see a young professional secure woman like this on a telenovela. As opposed to the two sobbing doubletimers on the floor of their office.

I was afraid for Perla last night. Ugh, I really don't like Mark.

"I don't think she's "light of leg" but she's surely been pursued, she's had the counself of a loving Father and she's got a good deal of native good sense". Well said Lila!

tofie, Marta's coddling of Fernanda who has done nothing but mistreat Luci since her return continues to stick in my craw as well. I give Luci a lot of credit for looking past this (quite grave) transgression and accepting her mother's "love" for Fernanda. She clearly puts her above her own children. I know that sounds harsh, but believe it to be the truth.

Diana

Just wait when Luciana finds out Miguel is working with Erika. She'll be confused, crazy jealous he might move on same as she was about Graciela and the kiss. I think David is a fool to think Luciana will want him now unless it appears Graciela may lock him down too. I also wonder why Cesar twice warned David another guy might appear and swoop in with Miguel out of the picture.

Not to beat a dead ugly horse, but exactly what has Marta done to garner points with us? She appears to be an exemplary surrogate Mom to FerBrat and Bobby, um..much better than to her own kids. Other than that.

I can't find anything. I am thinking she will turn out to be much darker than we are seeing now. Something just doesn't smell right. IE: Something's rotten in Denmark, but I can't put my finger on it. Her big picture is like a jigsaw puzzle with several pieces in the wrong places.

Yes Steve, some of the names are becoming visible on a few anvils circling above. I see one with Mark for Perla on it, and your sighting of the Gracie/Rock/FerBrat is pretty clear.

The ones I am really looking for are for Mark and NoJuan. I haven't a clue who will whack who first.

We have a lot of episodes to go because I think we're near the hump. There is still time to realistically introduce another attractive male who could appeal to Luciana.

I don't think Marta is a hypocrite; she is a woman who has learned from her own mistakes. Fernando wasn't as upper crust as we all thought he might be and while Brian is a more realistic choice vis a vis his social position she was doomed to grief upon the discovery of his having deported Marcos and Luciana. I don't think she knew about Lillian's relationship with him when she first set eyes on him, but Lillian's cruelty deserved to be avenged in some way.

What Marta is failing to see is that Luciana's degree makes her more upwardly mobile. She can work and make good money and also marry above her original station in life.

When Luciana was deported I think that Marta took out her grief at this loss on her work, which is why she coddled David's kids. They were much younger than her own and had lost their mother. Lillian was not fulfilling the role of doting grandmother, which would have been expected of her in that situation. She is therefore the ultimate hypocrite because while she professes love for her grandchildren her actions say otherwise. She is therefore in no position to complain about their feelings for Marta.

Tofie Cesar may have been speaking from his recent experience about the swooping danger.

Agree about Luci/Miggy/Erika. What the hell is wrong with that little girl anyway? Marta may not have been around the last dozen years, but she (Luci) did not live under a rock. She attended and graduated from college, right? As I understand it was not a convent.

Without all the sobbing and "I am so Corn-Fuzed" silliness she exhibits what I always called 'Fan Club Builder'.
That is what a lot of these really attractive girls do. They see early on that their looks are more important to guys than anything else and they always are building their Fan Club. It is usually 5 or 6 unwitting Schmucks who think they might have a chance, and treat her like royalty. The girl strings all them along and has each believing that he is her favorite. When one wises up and finds something else to do, a new one is quickly recruited to replace him.

Kirby, the posting issues we're having here prevented me from answering your post above.

The writers have done a poor job of explaining the alleged affair between Marta and Fernando. We still don't know whether it really happened or was Lillian's paranoid delusion. Marta might be feeding a delusion because Lillian is determined not to believe anything else. This is a pattern of behavior with Televisa writers in recent years in which they want to keep their options open but don't realize that the further they get into the story these options start to shrink on their own.

As far as Juan and Mark are concerned, I think Juan would be an idiot to accept Mark's treatment of Perla once he finds out. This might be a small betrayal in Juan's grand scheme of things but how could he trust Mark about anything else no matter what he feels about Perla? For these two to turn on each other later on is inevitable; who will whack whom is the question.

Marta's wise love counsel is you cannot be with someone if someone will be hurt and she is ok with Luciana believing that includes every man, woman and child in the world. This coming from a woman that slept with another woman's husband and cheated on Marcos.

I'm not sure I want to go all the way to Marta being hypocritical, or at least not deliberately so, but it definitely loops back to the still-vaguely-defined circumstance of her affair with Fernando as UA noted. Taking the show at face value, at some point when she was with Marcos she apparently got involved with Fernando and he was into her enough that either

1. Fernando was about to leave Lilian for Marta before he died, in Marta's version of events, or
2. Fernando apologized to Lilian on his deathbed for the affair, in Lilian's version of events. And this show's just enough of a downer that they could both be right.

The show hasn't helped, though, not one bit. If you remove the affair, Marta's simply the put-upon housekeeper/widowed mother archetype--but not a bad character in and of herself--and she's got a built-in karmic balance in Lilian, whom we know is decidedly selfish and bitchy and the mother of one of the chief antagonists of the piece (and we have reason to suspect she was somehow involved with Fernando's death). It's fine. But then you put the affair back in...and suddenly Marta appears to either be a martyr who's making up for past misdeeds at best (which kind of explains her whole "Luci, you can't be with el patron, it won't work" thing), and a weepy hypocrite at worst. (And the vague timeline of the affair complicates matters even more in light of the whole visa/immigrant subplots.)

Thanks so much , Urban. After a very busy day yesterday starting at 5.45 am, I finally settled in to watch this episode. It was sad to watch Miguel pour his heart out to Luci . A big , strong guy showing all the feels always gets me. Then, there he is at the bar toasting with Erica over bottles of beer. I dozed off , and when I woke up, I saw two brunettes Sanfranciscong like crazy bunnies. I thought that Miguel got very drunk and very lucky very fast until I realized that I was watching the next telenovela.

I think that Erica may be a tad more wordly wise and experienced that Miguel. I am hoping they do become a match.

I enjoyed Dave finally yelling at Juan. Maybe Dave could google immigration laws and penalties...Takes minutes, Dave. you don't even have to spell all those words correctly.

Thanks, Urban. Boy am I glad that they finally finished breaking up. NEXT!

Urban- Still not watching, but reading the superb recaps. I had to comment on the screencap of Miguel-- he looks so heartbroken in that picture! Aww! He's got a very expressive face.

Dy77: I do NOT feel sorry for Perla at all. When she gets whacked, I'm going to say: GOODBYE PERLA & GOOD RIDDANCE!

Carito: You're the next to go, my friend!

Diana Girl, I am so tired of the shifty bitch character trying to steal someone's man on the down low when it's all too obvious that's what's going on! Erica is a breath of fresh air!

Tofie I also wonder why Cesar twice warned David another guy might appear and swoop in with Miguel out of the picture. Whoa! I missed that! How many episodes left? I hope they're not bringing another dude into this piece! Let's work with what we got!

Vivi, I've said it before; I think that Raúl Coronado is being groomed for lead roles. He's got the charisma, the alpha-male features, the expressiveness... he could become the next Jorge Salinas. I'd be surprised if the two of them aren't cast as father and son eventually.

Last week or a little earlier when Brian was first crawling back to Marta I saw that Juan Vidal's eyes were very red. Who says that macho men don't cry? He also looks like a good prospect for leads as well.

I love a good screencap, too. Yours today were great!

Raúl Coronado has killed this role! He is so FANTASTIC! He masters the most subtle facial expressions and body language which emphasize and makes believable the dialogue with another character or even his inner thoughts, even if he's alone in a scene. Want to see more of him!

So do I, in both senses of the word!

Lila: Carito is on borrowed time before Karma makes an appearance.

But first, Perla is going to get whacked! I do NOT feel sorry for this uppity twit!

Urban, thank you for the recap. Perla finds Susan boring. I find everyone boring. Sorry I can't find anything new to add. Oh, maybe Miguel's crying. I frankly didn't understand his and Luciana's break-up. Yeah, I understood the Spanish, but I didn't understand their positions on lover vs. friend. Who actually broke up with whom? You clarified it for me. Thank you, again.

So we got a little movement, inching toward a scene involving David and Luci alone. With Cesar's advice in David's ear, he will approach her again. With Marta's advice in Luci's ear, will she give him the same song and dance, that their relationship is impossible? What we know of Luciana now, she'll back away again. What we don't know is how else are the writers going to get these two together, so I'm betting she gives in to her feelings, all the while feeling guilty about what she said to Miguel about not knowing what she'd do without him.

Jeezo Ms. Erika's approach is so non-TN. We are shown a steady diet of what not to do with subterfuge, lies, pouting sneaking and scheming and a thousand other shenanigans. Then Ms E comes along and says "You are a nice guy who is in the same business as me, and you are not hard to look at too. I like you, and I'm single, so let's see how we get along." Wow I feel like somebody just splashed cold water on my face, how refreshing.

The thought of maybe possibly seeing a mature and healthy relationship (between Miguel and Erika), sincere and with no games, is almost unnerving. Especially in this TN. People will see them and not know what to make of it.

Yes,Erica seems like a positive, pragmatic , uncomplicated person who doesn't have a lot of baggage and knows what she likes..and it's Miguel. I agree that this actor is doing a good job and that he could play the galan and Js's son. Those two have the same dark, rugged good looks. Where was I ?

I like Miguel. I like Erika. Together and separately.

I would love to see Raul and Jorge as father son. Great idea!

And Julie, "unnerving" is the perfect word to describe how some might deal with Miguel and Erika's "mature and healthy relationship" as you so put it. I love it.

Diana

Come on, Miguel. Life could be sweet with someone who returns your love and devotion. In my head, I am hearing AL GReen's Love and Happiness" . So much better than Al's" Let's STay Together" that you've been singing to LUci.

I should do a weekend topic someday on predicting future parent and adult child combinations now that a lot of our favorites are approaching the half century mark. We're also overdue for another round of toxic mothers. We've been served with some doozies in the last couple of years.

But next week's weekender will be the ECDLP Karmageddon discussion.

Thank you UA, a great recap as usual and loved the country club comments. Lilian can truss herself up like a prized Thanksgiving Turkey all she wants, she's still a frozen bird. I despise this woman and I really really hope that I'm right that Gut is messing with her and plans to blow her world apart.

I had to laugh at Perla calling Soo-Sun boring. I would have told Mark she's a cry baby...always crying.

Speaking of cry babies..Smuguel and his waaah waaah over losing Lucia. That was the longest frigging breakup discussion ever. I just wanted to tell both of them to shut up and get on with the "bye!" I just have no pity for Miguel; even after breaking up, he's whining to Marta and vowing to get his own vineyard to win back Lucia. He's obsessed and just doesn't know how to let go even when he knows Lucia doesn't love him. He's seriously a human barnacle that will have to be permanently cut off by David. I hope he does go to work for Ericka...good riddance boy! Be someone else's creepy obsessed boyfriend.

Ericka is a nice girl, I like her and I hope she gets the guy. That way he will stay away from Lucia. What I would like to see more than her getting stuck with Miguel; is for her and Lucia to be friends.

I'm feeling David's new attitude. It's time to go get your woman Dave and make her yours. Bring on some heat! I came to watch romance..I came to watch GS and IB be pretty together and it's long over due darn it!

Mark is a creep and Juan is too. They both make me sick with their degrading views on people and on women. The idea that it's okay to demean and manhandle women is further disturbing. I wouldn't mind Soo-Sun going Lorena Bobbit on Mark. Juan just deserves to be put in prison for all of his crimes and schemes.

I'm at the Delilah table. Listen up Smuguel, this "Luuurve of all time" was in your imagination. Period. Suck it up, forget that wet dream, and act like a man. Just cause you dreamed it up for years does not make it so. Crying is nice to show that you can, after that it messes up your mascara..

I am just waiting to see how he will be with Erika. Can he be a smothering possessive teenager with Luci and then suddenly shift the transmission up into 'Adult' and be a normal boyfriend? If so we could also believe that Mark would be a different guy if it just were with some woman other than Sooo-San. Right? Oh these questions with no answers.

Prison for NoJuan? Ha. Just lick his lips and stick him to a window and he will eventually starve to death.

Dave and his wardrobe full of vests of many colors has left me feeling sad, sleepy, disappointed, and meh so far. At this point, I don't care who he ends up with . Just. do. not. care.

Yeah what's up with the vests? Does it have to do with his impressive physique? I have no clue. He would look a hundred times better in a little too big Hilfiger.

He would look good in a bright yellow raincoat. But I agree the vests are an odd choice. (Maybe they're meant to reflect that he hasn't been shopping in many, many years since vests were actually popular.)

UA, entertaining recap. Lucy will learn to get along very well without the mig. All those well meaning tears
She'll be fine once her and Dave get it together. But Marta says it can't
Happen. Well why not? Cuz he's rich &
They're not, big deal. Thats reverse snobery. Marta need to shutup. And just what did she do becides cheat with lil's hubby? Lil's a horrible wretch but that hatred is a little bit
Servere for just cheating with hubby.

Mark is slimmy.
Juan & perla are stupid. And they deserve what's coming to them.

David is way to trusting of his so-called friend the crook. Im afraid they gonna trip him up something awful
And he's gonna need lucy, cuz she's a fighter. To the death.
Poor Miguel. He had dreams, childhood
Dreams that never grew up. He'll get
Rich. Someday. For himself.

Thanks Urban.

Kirby..I like your new photo. Is that a squirrel or a chippy? Is he wearing a vest?

I have no clue why the wardrobe department decided that it would be a good idea to put our Dave in vests...like almost every day. QTH?

That is a baby squirrel I rescued when the tree trimmers killed his siblings. He was hairless and weeks away from even having his eyes open. I kept him alive and raised him to adulthood and then he decided to join the wild squirrels and left home.

Thanks You have heard Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup"?

Kirby...You are a good soul to save that tiny creature. We have a big backyard with woods on three sides, so we have chippies, squirrels, rabbits, groundhogs, deer, coyotes, raccoons and possums wandering around .

I don't think that I have ever heard that song, but I like other songs by Toby.

Whoops...susanlynn

Thanks. A cool little animal to tell the truth. Not really ever a pet, more like an animal friend.

...all creatures great and small.

UA, thanks for your recap. It was well done as usual.
Helen
