Vino el Amor #100; Thursday, March 23, 2017: Vino el Bombshell

We begin where we left off yesterday with David and Luciana sampling the wine. It begins to get romantic, but then they hear footsteps coming and it turns out to be Fernanda not looking very happy at all. “So what are you doing here”, says Fernanda. Dave tells her, “We are working”. “Yes I can see” says Fer. “Well then I guess I will leave.” “And you?” says Dave. “What are you doing here? Are you looking for Tano?”

Luciana then diffuses the situation by saying she had already told Fer that they were going to be there, sampling the new wine. Fer says, “Yes, that’s true and I came for that too.” Dave then shows her the wine they picked out and allows her to sample. He also shows her the wine labels and asks her opinion and she picks out the one she likes the best. She is thankful that Dave allows her to be a part of this. He gets her involved with coming up with a name for this new wine. First Fer suggests “passion”. But since it’s new wine, Lu suggests that it have to do with feelings you have when you first fall in love. Fer comes up with “romance”. “Vino el romance”, it’s a perfect name and Dave is very happy with that. Fer goes back to studying and asks permission to have her friends over.

Outside in the patio, the two succubi are discussing Grace’s plans and what’s going on with “Dr.” Anderson. According to DisGrace, he’s the best psychiatrist in the world because he is going to convince David that she is the best solution for the family’s troubles.  Lil says, “So when are you going to start taking my advice? Here I am helping you and supporting what you do, but you never give back anything to me. When I most needed you, you didn’t have any compassion for me over this thing with your father when I was at the lowest point of my life.” Grace says, “Mom, stop being so dramatic.” Lil goes on, “Well my marriage was ruined because of Marta and you should have shown me some compassion.” Then Grace says, “Does the rest of your life have to be about revenge on Marta? But not to worry, when I finally nab David, the first thing I’m going to do for you Mom is to get rid of Marta. Doesn’t that make you happy?” Lil then says, “Of course. But where is David now? He might be with Luciana.” Then Grace says she has everything under control.

Miggy and León are having a couple of beers downtown. They talk about what’s been happening at the vineyard and the spat they had with Marta. Then León lays the big one on Miguel: Luciana and David have broken up over the Fernanda situation. León hopes that someday Lu will be as happy as Mig is with Erica. León wants to know if Mig is going to be comfortable with seeing Lu more often now that this irrigation project runs through the SB vineyard. Mig says he will deal with it.

At the SB offices, Erica says that this project is going to be a lot more complicated than she first planned. But her problem is with Luciana, not with the irrigation project. She promises Adolfo she will do everything she can so that everything will come out well.

At Susan’s office, Susan and Lu discuss how Lu and David should be together. Lu mentions how she diffused the situation when Fer came to the Cava, but didn’t use the situation to further her own gain, (unlike Disgrace) it was for Fer to not get into trouble with her dad. Susan hopes that with the therapy Fer is receiving, Lu and David can get back together. But, she wants that sometimes these things don’t end up very well.

David comes to see Adolfo about the project and brings them a bottle of his wine. Adolfo leaves and Erica sits down to talk with Dave. She makes mention about Luciana and how Luciana cares for David and that they make a great pair. Dave says, “Only problem is, we are no longer together.” Erica looks upset.

Fer finally finds Tano at the employees’ house and tells Tano how she went looking for him at the cava, but found her dad and Luciana working instead. She relates how Lu got her out of a sticky situation when Dave asked if she were looking for Tano. Tano told her that Luciana is a good person. Fer had to agree that Lu was doing a nice thing for her. Tano wants to tell Dave about their relationship. But Fer says not yet, she has a lot of studying to do. She also wants to stop her therapy because it makes her feel badly. She does a lot better listening to what Tano has to say. (She’s got that right!)

Later Fer tells DisGrace the same thing. She wants to stop her therapy with “Dr.” Anderson because she feels much better now. Fer also relates what happened in the cava to DisGrace and says that Luciana was very nice is not as bad as she thought she was. Then DisGrace says that Fer should not stop her therapy and says, “I say that with all the love that I have for you.”

Lil comes in and Grace is upset and tells Lil that things are not going as she planned! Fernanda is getting out of her control! Grace thinks that Tano is the problem and that David needs to get rid of Tano. Lil says it’s too late for that. Grace wants to say that Tano is a bad influence on Fer. “I’m just going to keep on encouraging Fer to study so she can get into the university”, says Grace. “Then David will finally see how much he needs me because I’ve done everything right.”

Mark is at Juan’s door trying to break down Juan’s door. He’s wearing this funky pink shirt with a patterned collar that looks like it’s from 1980. (Maybe he shops at the Goodwill.) He’s complaining about a cop car being outside his place. Juan says he refuses to be his lawyer anymore and advises him to go to Colorado. He continues telling him he screwed up with Susan by breaking his restraining order. Mark says, “Beating up Miguel and kidnapping Carito is not a Federal offense! (Hate to burst your bubble, Mark, but kidnapping IS Federal offense. And assault is state law and penal code 240 and 242).  Juan finally convinces Mark to go but he wants his money back. Juan warns that his account will be frozen if he gives back the money. Juan gives him cash. Mark is angry and warns that Juan should not try to disappear or he will hunt him down. Perla is happy Mark is gone. “I told you I’d get rid of that idiot” says Juan. “But this is just a temporary solution for now. More to come later.”

In the evening, Erica is question Mig about whether or not he knew that David and Luciana had broken up. Mig tells her he just found out himself and this has nothing to do with their relationship. But Erica is soooo insecure and goes off on Miggy again. She thinks that Miggy wants to leave her for Luciana. Erica cries, “Luciana can never give you the love I can give you.” Mig tells her that he’s with her because he loves her. They begin to kiss…Well they don’t end up in San Francisco, but I think they should go somewhere else besides Erica’s bedroom.

In the evening, Lu and David are in his office and talk about what happened with Fernanda. Lu believes it’s a preview of things to come. Dave thinks so too and that everything will soon be smoothed out soon. He says Anderson told him that it’s best for Fernanda to be attached to DisGrace, but he disagrees with that one. Dave believes that with time and patience, Fernanda will be ok with their relationship. Lu brings up how it irks her that DisGrace is hanging around and making trouble. “When is she going to leave, anyway?” Dave explains that Fer needed her aunt for this time and when she has fully recovered he will have Grace leave. Lu, with a flair for the dramatic says, “It just seems that when I’m happy, no one else is. And when everyone else is happy, I’m not. Am I doomed to unhappiness for the rest of my life? It’s late now, I’m going to bed.”

In the morning, Lu presents Dave with the presentation she will do for the competition. He promises her that they will be united with this competition and that what happened at the last event will not happen again. Lu agrees that this is only fair and they hug. David says he trusts very much and Lu goes over the program while David smiles at her.

Ramón knocks on the door with good news. He spoke with the engineer and tomorrow they will have new water flowing through the vineyard. Dave is very happy and Ramón says a lot of the credit should go to Tano as he is the one who worked with the engineer and did a great job.

Next, Lil is getting dressed and there is a knock on her door. Sonia is offering to bring her breakfast, but she says she is going to have breakfast with Gutierrez. She has to find out why Gut told her and Marta that information about Fernando. She wants to be sure that he did it to hurt Marta and not her. Sonia warns how she was when she first heard this news and doesn’t want to see Lil so depressed again. But Lil says, “I know Gutierrez and this time I will put him in his place.”

Over at SB Vineyard, Adolfo says their presentation is the best he’s ever seen. They celebrate with a glass of their own wine. (Erica looks bright eyed and bushy-tailed).

Well Perla got no sleep last night and looks awful. She says she is very nervous about the Mark situation. “Hey don’t worry” Juan says. “I’m going over to see Gutierrez to tell him that Mark threatened our lives.” “Be careful”, Perla says. Her phone rings and it’s Carito calling from Querétaro, Mexico. Carito says she does not want to return. “Over here, I don’t have all the comforts I’m used to, but at least I can live in peace.” Perla then says, “Well I have some bad news. You are going to have to come back because Juan had a fight with Mark. I need you here with me so we can both come against Mark with our statements. “What?” says Carito. “I know, Juan put you up to this, didn’t he?” Perla denies it and tells her it’s because of Mark going crazy. Carito wants no more of this and cuts the conversation short.

Fer’s friends are over with some gossip about Peter and says she doesn’t want to know more. The friends ask if things are going better with her dad and are glad things are going better. Sonia comes in with refreshments. Fer says they are busy with studies and DisGrace says after the exams she will take them all to the spa! (Isn’t she cool?)

Gut meets Lil for breakfast and he tells her that she can’t be arguing with Marta for the rest of her life. “Watch me” says Lil. Gut says he can’t handle the situation anymore and he did what he did because he can’t handle the guilt.“ Lil says he’d better be very careful because he’s going to regret this for the rest of his life. “You’re just like Fernando, maybe even worse,” Says Lil.

In the employees’ kitchen, Marta finally gets to talk to Lu about what happened with Fernando and how she was used and she was just a game for Fernando. Gut knew all about it. “Please forgive me”. Looks like Luciana did, because they hug. Lu tells Marta she doesn’t want her to think that she judges her. Marta feels she’s been a failure to her family. They change the subject to how the vineyard is doing better with the irrigation. Marta says, “You are going to really give this vineyard a good name for itself. Your father would have been very proud!” Tano and León come in and tell them how good the new irrigation is and they are all happy.

Dr. Evil, Fer, and David meet together. Dr. Evil says that Fernanda is better and it’s not necessary to have therapy so often. Fer thanks him and David leaves. Fer tells him how much better she is feeling. But Dr. Evil says he is going to give her medications. (How does a doctor who lost his license write a prescription?) This does not set well with Fer and Dr. Evil explains it will be for the times when she gets bad thoughts and then she can take the meds to make her feel at ease again. You can tell Fer is not liking this idea!

Juan comes to Gut’s office to report that Mark came over and threatened him. He says he’s afraid of Mark. Gut advises to call him if he sees Mark again.

Fer comes to talk to Dave in the den and wants to talk about the therapy. She wants to be honest with him and has come to realize that she was very selfish, doesn’t want him to be sad, and she would like him to fall in love again. Dave starts to look happy about this when Fer lowers the bombshell: “But”, says Fernanda, “I would hope it would be someone just like my Tía Gracie.”

Thank you, Cynthia. I always love to read your take on the crazy.

Well, some people are going to Colorado and others are going to San FRancisco. Will some people end up dead and others pregnant? And again, the amazing multipurpose office\bedroom\livingroom. Get a room...Well, get another room.

Good morning Cynthia and Susanlynn.

Cynthia, I wish every episode was as fascinating as your superb recaps! "Vino el Bombshell" was inspired along with everything else.

Every one of your pictures truly tells a story and adds so much.

"Erica cries, “Luciana can never give you the love I can give you.” Ouch. Simply painful. That said, I must admit I am wondering myself if Miguel will weaken and seek Luciana out again. He seems to want to honor his relationship with Erica but I think it's clear he isn't over Luci and frankly, her jealous attitude is not helping. Susanlynn, I cringed at their move to the couch of too much action...Sigh.

You noted that Fer said her father should end up with someone JUST LIKE Graciela, but she didn't say Graciela herself, correct? I don't know if that matters at all, but it will be interesting to hear what David says.

When David and Fer were doing the wine tasting, Luciana had a huge, beaming smile at Fer. The actress can light up a room. But I've never seen her direct that high wattage smile to David alone.

I hope Carito doesn't come back. If so, I fear she will be a dead woman walking. If Mark has left the area (which I have my doubts about) it seems certain he will be back for vengeance. It's just a matter of who ends up being the target.

I feel for Luci more than anyone at the moment. Despite Fer being horrible to her, she handled the situation last night with kindness and encouragement. She is shouldering a lot now. I was miffed at Marta who continues to try and receive absolution for her sins while her daughter's heart is broken. Tunnel vision.

I am fervently hoping the only time we will see Brian from this point on concerns police business and that he won't meddle in Lili or Marta's affairs or try and engage in one with either one.

Thank you Cynthia!

Diana

Good stuff, Cynthia.

I was preparing for another tantrum when Fernanda entered the cava. Fortunately, that did not happen.

As to whether Dr Evil can prescribe, I'm sure he has a black market source. It looks like DisGrace wants Fer to OD again. She couldn't care less if that happened.

Cynthia, what can I say? What a great recap. Thoroughly enjoyable.

So did anyone believe Gut last night when he gave wretched Lil his Pep Talk? I actually did. I think he is trying to atone for the things he has done which he now knows were very wrong. That said, I am waiting for him to remember the deportation and who came up with THAT idea.

It is encouraging to see not only David but Fer also is not buying Dr. Evil/DisGrace's bullcrap .
Is Dr. Evil losing his nerve? Or just now realizing he is flirting with actually going to jail for this shit?
And is he smoking crack too? He wants to write FerBrat a script ?
A. That is what got her into this mess.
B. If HE can write prescriptions I can too, right? Neither of us have a Medical License.

Because of this it appears DisGrace is cooking up yet another evil plan. She was texting Wiley Coyote after Fer talked to her. Looking for that ACME exploding birdseed.

Tano is building brownie points Lots of brownie points.
Erika is NOT.

Ramon, David, Miguel and Cesar are all nice guys, way too nice. Just pitiful woosies. Will just one of you grow a pair and teach the others.

Good morning, all ! So nice to see so many people in their bunny slippers and holding their cups of coffee as they drift out onto the patio as the sun rises over Sonoma.... wakey, wakey. I must say that you are the most intelligent women and man in the whole world , and someone should be grabbing your head like a basketball and giving you a big, old kiss on the lips.

Diana, I am dazzled by your consistently elegant , eloquent daily words . You have such insight into these characters.

Thank you Cynthia.

"Erica looks bright eyed and bushy-tailed"

I almost bought Miguel is committed to Erika, not that he doesn't love Luciana, but that he took Leon's warning. Don't lose a good thing over a relationship that won't happen with Luciana.

Makes me nervous David assured Luciana she will be front and center during this presentation. Graciela will have to step in and save it.

I so don't care at all about Lilian, Marta and Brian. Don't care.

Thought David, Tano and Fernanda came to an agreement already so why all the sneaking around? Nothing ever changes, ever.

David better take the woman he loves away for the afternoon and not answer the phone and everyone can go to hell. Holding hands, head butts and a pat on the ass ain't enough. David does not empathize with Luciana at all and appears not to care how much this hurts. He did tell her good morning and asked her how she was, she said she couldn't sleep well last night, and he totally ignored it. Dude needs to learn how to listen.

When is Marta going to help Luciana?

DisGrace would happily have Fer addicted and eventually institutionalized or dead to get what she wants.

Every time I am appalled at how ruthless she is I stop and remind myself that she DID murder her Sister in cold blood as the kick off for her grand quest. So I suppose, what is one more.

The tension between Lil and DisGrace is becoming more obvious. I can't wait until those two start seriously fighting. There seems to be an uneasy truce now as they both think they need each other. When either one suspects the other is no longer useful I hope the fur will fly.

Lillian is slowly realizing that DisGrace has no soul, conscience or heart. DisGrace is beginning to realize that her Mom does have a tiny speck of those qualities, and hopefully this will be the straw which breaks the camels back.

I was impressed with Carita last night. Is it Carita or Carito. I would have sworn Perla's phone said Carito with an O.

BTW Dr. Evil, this is the USA, not Mexico, Prescription medications, especially "mood altering" substances, are given a bit of scrutiny.

I take it that NoJuan no longer needs SkidMark as his only utility to NoJuan was a way to get enough money to buy the land to ruin David. Now that that scheme is going along 'swimmingly' Skid can just go away.

Funny that Juan hasn't followed up on his top priority, Dave's destruction. When does the bonehead realize the kids are still running through the sprinkler?

Tofie..It is time for one of the lists you did for Sombra.

Kirby..You are so right about Lilian and Disgrace. Lilian is a nasty, bitter, selfish woman , but DisGracie is platinum blonde evil incarnate. Hell on heels. It must be awful for a mother to look at an offspring who has gone so far into the dark side and has no redeeming qualities. Pride in your children and the hope of leaving a lasting legacy of good is important to most people. Apple>tree.

Remind me again about the ages. How much older is Dave than LUci?About 15 years? How much older is LU than Fer? About 5 years?

Tofie..In think that Juan might have a little ADD in addition to his erroneous conclusion that he is smarter than everyjuan.

Susanlynn, thank you for your kind words.

I am not having a good day but your generous words cheered me immeasurably.

Diana

((((Diana)))) Please know that you are in my thoughts and that I am sending you good vibrations )))))) I hope that things get better for you very soon.

Thanks, Cynthia! "kidnapping IS Federal offense. And assault is state law and penal code 240 and 242" Woohoo! You tell 'em!!

"Vino el Romance"? I hope so. This story could use a little romance.

Why did David tell Erika that he and Luci had broken up? She didn't need to know that. Besides, it's only half-true.

"Dave explains that Fer needed her aunt for this time and when she has fully recovered he will have Grace leave." Okay, see, it just came out of Dave's own mouth why Grace would be motivated to keep Fernanda sick. Knowing what he already knows about Grace, he should be more careful.

"[Lil] wants to be sure that [Gut] did it to hurt Marta and not her." Sigh, that is pathetic. I thought Lil was smarter than that.

Glad CaritO said NO to Perla's gracious invitation to place herself in Mark's crosshairs.

So the doctor is somehow (without a license) going to write Fer an Rx for something that she can kill herself with. (Or get addicted to - thanks Kirby for pointing that out.) I don't know all the details of the CA penal code, but I bet that practicing medicine without a license and illegally prescribing drugs (especially addictive ones) can land you in jail if you do it too often. Well, that's fine. Dr. Evil and Mark can be roommates.

Diana, I hope your day gets better!

I am super-bummed that there's no episode tonight. (So said my Comcast program guide; can anyone else confirm?) But I have an idea for a special that I can do in lieu of a recap this weekend.

Cynthia - Another great recap! Thanks!

Tano really is the Fer Whisperer. I think the wine should be called Vino del Tano.

Unfortunately, Fer is way too easy to manipulate and there we had the rest of the episode.

Mark is THE WORST. Juan is close but his clothes are a little better.

Diana, hope your day improves!

Julie, not sure about tonight, but they didn't show avances last night so that's usually a sign of preemption.

Julie... Thanks for giving me that visual of Marked and Dr. Evil as cellmates. NOw,that would for sure be the odd couple. I can just see the interactions. Marked would be verbally abusive while Dr. Evil would be psychoanalyzing Marked. I agree that when I heard Vino do ROmance , I said outloud, "Where exactly is the romance ?"

Dy77..I think that VIno el Tano would be a better name and a fitting tribute to the only functioning FEr WHisperer in this show. Not surprising that TAno is the only one really getting through to FErn with any reality . Teens always listen to their peers , especially their sweethearts, more than they do to any adults in their orbits.

Dy77..May I add that Juan also seems to grasp the concept of using deoderant, shampoo, soap ,and a comb.

Julie..I just checked my newspaper's tv listing for tonight , and I see futbol on UNi for tonight. Boo.

Thanks, Susanlynn. Well, that's fine. Maybe I will go see a movie tonight. It's morphin' time!!

Julie..I am anxious to see "Hidden Figures," and "King Kong" got surprisingly good reviews! I haven't been to any movies late!Y because I often cannot find anything that I want to see, but I might try to catch those two if my busy schedule of work and family allows.

Leftovers from Wednesday's episode, when I didn't have a chance to read, digest and comment:

Thank you, dy--great capture of the episode. I love to read your recaps. They make more sense that what the writers are trying to convey on the screen.

Tofie--"Luciana may love David but they do not relate." This is the most profound statement on their love affair to date.

Diana--"Pure speculation but the thought she [Erika] could be Graciela's sister would be rich." Wouldn't it, though. The writers have no imagination. Here they've spent all this time on Erika's hate on Luci and Grace's hate on Luci, when the two could have gotten together and blasted Luci into smithereens (or not). Maybe they would turn on each other and leave Luci to have both Miguel and Dave. Now THAT would be interesting.

BillC, Diana y otros--The relationship between Gut and Old Fer is completely unbelievable as far as their being besties, timeline or not. Didn't Gutierrez come onto our screen *hating* Latinos and everything they stood for--because of his own ancestry? Por favor, gimme a break.

I'm halfway through Wednesday's comments and now I need a break.

OT it's 41 degrees and snowing in Foxboro. Second time this week. I hate weather.

Anita: OMG FerBratZilla getting on my nerves. She seems hell-bent on loving some Tia Graciela!

I've never forgotten Gutierrez being ashamed of being Latino because he wanted to be ANGLO so bad.

Continued from Wednesday--

Urban--your instincts on how to make Azela Robinson's character more evil were correct. We saw evidences of it when she confronted Luciana in the bodega with Miguel as children. The writers should have gone with that type of anger--which led to the deportation. Instead all that petered out and now she's only Second Banana to DisGracie. Don't get me wrong, DisGracie has turned into an excellent Evil Queen.

UA and Diana--as to "the question why did Adolfo's wife go back to Spain. So, you're not alone, I'm wondering too." Maybe the writers did that to give us some of Erika's and Adolfo's backstory. Also, with Erika studying in Spain, it would have been acceptable for her to live with her mother--although that was not brought up. My theory, crackpotted as it is, is that the writers know how upset we all get when we *don't* know people's backstory. Why is there no woman around Erika and Adolfo? Is everyone on this show widowed or orphaned? Can't have too many of those...let's make them divorced, or it goes something like that. They threw us a crumb and doesn't amount to anything sinister.

But, I love the idea that she bore Fernando's child and when the paternity was revealed, she went off to Spain and left Erika with Adolfo, thus creating the bond he has with her. Maybe studying in Spain was independent of her mother.

Niecie--right on with your comment on Gut just now "meeting" Marta for this first time, yet knowing about her from 20 years ago. Maybe he just didn't recognize the dowdy, black clunker, stringy haired woman she had become.

Addendum to Gut and Fernando--If Old Fer needed to marry a gringa ciudadana to get permanent residence, I'll bet my next glass of Vino Reserva that he didn't speak any English. Why would Gut have given him the time of day.....Also, it takes time to form a friendship, which I don't think Old Fer and Gut had much of.

Still much to be explained....

Anita: "I'll bet my next glass of Vino Reserva that he didn't speak any English. Why would Gut have given him the time of day." Hey, that's a good point. Yet more fuel to the speculation that a lot of this story was written on the fly.

One more from Wednesday--

Julie--"I don't think we know Cesar's history, but if he has an ex-wife somewhere, she could always show up and make things interesting!" Poor Cesar, he's been so busy studying to be a doctor and then going abroad to specialize. (Do we even know what new skill he had when he returned?) Then, he spends a lot of his time in the hospital, except when he visits David and now Sooooosan.

It seems to me I recall David saying something to the effect that he'd been a bachelor far too long and he needed a woman in his life. We all know Cesar is shy, probably afraid of women. Poor guy, trying out his chops first time out with DisGraceful. I don't blame him for bombing.

Cesar's new skill must have been pretty exotic if he had to go abroad to learn it. Did they say where he went?

Lovely recap Cynthia. These people are doomed to brake up,to make up.But they
Make up very well when they do. I really don't want that Dr nut person to start pumpin fer with meds out of
his meds cabinetThat could be of very fatal.
And she wants dad to have somebody like Tia murderous crazy Grace?Hell NO
Absolutely not. That deserved a freeze
Frame. I will be so glad when the
Writers write in that fer will see her
Crazy ass Tia like Adriana finally see
Hers on that one that's on at 2:00 in
The afternoon.

Ok at work gotta go. Thank you Cynthia

Julie--I remember "Europe" but it was probably France or Spain. Everybody seems to go to Spain when the going becomes necessary, even in other telenovelas (Reina de Corazones, La Sombra del Pasado, In Camino) or been in Spain for awhile and come back (Cuando Me Enamoro). After all, DisGracie did it, although she also went to Italy.

Anita: Are you saying Erika's father was Don Fernando ? WTH!

Okay, Anita. Then I would guess that Cesar's specialty is bull-goring wounds or possibly flamenco-dancing-related foot injuries.

Steve. It is speculated that Erika might be just to muddy the plot even further.

Julie I am making a fool of myself laughing like this in public with what appears to be no reason. Gorologist?

"It's 'Running of the Bulls', Dave, they are sure to need me. I'll be back in a week and we can have a wine and look at my pictures."

Pictures, um..yeah OK Cesar. You taking SooSan?

Well, they speak Spanish in Spain, aye? So that makes sense! :-*

The beauty of the flamenco-related injuries specialty is that it's also applicable to grape-smushing injuries.

SiezeHer Ankles and Dance?

Cesar doesn't like dancing, remember? Probably traumatized by all the flamenco injuries he's seen.

SiezeHer Ankles and Dance

LLC Sports Injury specialist.

Thanks, Cynthia. Again, you made silk out of last night's burlap.

Soooo tired of Erica's jealousy. Say what you will about Lu, that girl's got pride.

Diana, sorry this isn't a good day for you. I hope you feel better soon.

Julie...I vote for the flamenco injury specialty because I like foot massages.

Rain predicted for the next four days, and temps down to 47 on Sunday. Spring?

Cynthia, thank you for "gracing" us with your lovely prose. Overall, I was disappointed in the episode, but you made it much better than just the ordinary.

We were the ones fooled by the avances the night before. We thought our FerBrat had had a complete change of heart, only to have her end the conversation with David with "someone like Tia Gracy. Yep, Lil and Marta aren't the only ones who get fooled by some character.

This doctor needs to be reported for malpractice. Who ever heard of "prescribing" a young adolescent pills to take when she was feeling down, unsupervised--just as he's about to stop the sessions. He should have been "prescribing" them from the very beginning just to be able to monitor their effect on Fer. What do I know about the practice of medicine--it seems just common sense to me. I hope Fer tells David about the pills.

Now that I've finished all the comments, I see many of us are on the same page of Dr. Getting-Near-Malpractice Suit prescribing pills to Fer. How are we to fight it, before El Fin de Fer comes around. Do we have to have another crisis involving hospitals before El Fin de VEA?

Susanlynn and Julie--If you haven't seen Neruda (with Gael Garcia Bernal) look for it. It ended up being something of a witty, literary farce. Be prepared for a lot of Spanish that's hard to understand.

Another one to seek out is, of course, Lion, with Dev Patel (in the second half).

Lastly, and I just saw it last night, is The Salesman, an Iranian offering with a gritty look into the homelife of an everyday couple--who incidentally also belong to an acting troupe doing Death of a Salesman. Very well done.

Actually I was thinking more like Power Rangers.

Tomorrow I will try to post something special in lieu of a recap. I had an idea before, but it didn't work out. I'll think of something else.

Hi, Anita. I will keep your suggestions in mind for after tax season.

I am anxious to see how this show plays out. We can't get rid of Juan until he does whatever he plans to do with that cellphone. Everyjuan is going to absolutely freak out when the mask is removed from that lovely, delicate face . I still think Lu and Dave are meant to end up together . Is there a 15 year age difference there? I also see Miguel ending up with Erica and the vineyard. I wonder if Erica is pregnant because they went to San Francisco on that couch twice that viewers saw , and I don't think that anyone pulled over at a CVS for birth control on the road to San Fran . I think that the writers are teasing us with the Ramon-Brian-Marta triangle. I have a funny feeling that Gut is going to either end up dead or with Marta. No happy ending for that bitter pill Lilian.

Susan: Juan still has Lisa's cellphone ? WTH ?

How long has he been holding ? 6 months or 2 years ?

Julie...I will be looking forward to your idea for a replacement for the recap of the no show.

I also noticed when Lillian said something bad (or in effect coded words) to Gutierrez.

I wonder what does she have planned for him ?

Steve...the cellphone was in a wooden box that Juan has. It will be proof of the rumble at the river between Lisa and Disgraceful .

Steve
Yeah Lilian told Brian his treatment of her recently and his admission that his reason for telling both the women about Fernando was also to help Marta, would result in his regretting it for the rest of his life. And she implied it would be her doing which would cause Brian to pay so dearly.

AFIK the only secret concerning Brian which is still untold is Lillian's part in the deportation. I hardly see how she could use that when the scheme was her idea.

Cynthia, nice work! The Mark comments always make me laugh, what a dummy. I wonder if he is a complete idiot to make all non-Latinos look stupid, man. Along with Ashmore in PyP, they've made us look completely unsavory. No felonies committed, yeah right.

Kirby, just noticed the new eagle picture. Amazing. Been watching the Florida and DC eagle cams for a year. Absolutely beautiful!

Lurking Linda

Linda Thanks. I will try to put up a new one every few days. My Hobby, all these I put up I took myself.
Hope you like them. I believe you can click the picture, and when google opens, click the same picture again and see a full size.

Great pictures , Kirby. We have a lot of hawks around our place, but eagles are magnificent .

Thank you, Cynthia for this and yesterday's recap and DY for Tuesday's! I watched all three episodes and read all youze guys comments and they have, indeed, been more entertaining than the show which has been so much rehashing of the same tired plots: a couple of old broads living to aggravate one another, one of them claiming victim status because the man she was cheating on her husband with was "playing with her" as this bestows a sainted martyrdom upon her.

This says it best: "I was miffed at Marta who continues to try and receive absolution for her sins while her daughter's heart is broken. Tunnel vision." --Diane

Like the saying, "There's no fool like an old fool." Marta is an old fool and she needs to stop her ugly bawling, let this stench-filled chapter of her life die and act on what she heard Lil telling Gut in the restaurant and save David, who has been so good to her from becoming a worse puppet than he is already.

That's the other tired storyline, wild-eyed DisGraceful workin' David like a dollar store puppet with a single-mindedness dexterity that is truly psychotic and beyond David's ability to protect himself against. All Marta has to do is tell what she heard, David can put this together with his doubts and this whole damn game would be up and we wouldn't have to watch adults quaking under the glare of a spoiled, selfish, hypocritical, developmentally arrested little twerp like Ferbrat!

Luci looks tired, though she did light up during the wine presentation and interacting with Fer in the cava. Miguel and Erika with her whining and insecurity are as tiring as that old couch they keep abusing. And I hope there's some Plug-Ins in that room. Sheesh!

Tano and Bobby are definitely a breath of fresh air, add Leo and Sonia.

I BEEN ready for skidmark's stanky ass to get crushed. Perla's falling apart and I'm surprised to say I think Juan does care for her in his own way but I get the feeling somebody's going to die in this part of the story.

Everybody is so sharp on this patio and I'd end up quoting the whole thing to cite them all!

Susanlynn and Kirby! thanks for the advice for sneaking and reading recap during professional conferences! Alas, I couldn't really sneak a peak at recaps until the darned thing was over! They were hard core and I couldn't slip away!

Glad to be back! Should be a fun weekend. Look forward to whatever you bring, Julie! Thanks again Cynthia and DY!

Lila..I am so relieved to hear that you survived the conference. I was sure that you were "here" but just running silent. Welcome home to the crazy business.

Welcome Home LiLa. It was like our train wreck here was missing a wheel. :-)

Thank you for all your comments. I was out all day at a conference for Women in Leadership at a local university near me.

Some of you were mentioning Cesar and why he's not married. He has never been married. He told Susan (or was it DisGrace?) one time that the reason he was never married was because in the beginning of his becoming a doctor, he worked all kinds of hours and ladies didn't like the fact that he got called to duty rather going out on dates. He said he couldn't find a good woman to put up with that, so he's been single ever since.

I noticed that Vino was pre-empted by the soccer game tonight. Looks like we will have to wait till Monday on episode 101.

Cynthia you didn't miss much. This show is the "One legged Duck Swimming" of TNs. Just going in circles.

Hi Lila! Yes, we've been making our own fun out on the patio. Seriously, the Vino characters should be watching us. They might learn something!

And I do have a better idea for what to post tomorrow. It won't be very long, but it is the kind of thing that will inspire Patio Participation. :-)

And Power Rangers was EXTREMELY satisfying. There were actual shrieks of delight from the audience. So, boo on Univision for not airing episode tonight, but yay for getting to go out and see a moving picture!

Yaay! Thanks, Susanlynn, Kirby and Julie! Lelt's rake this puppy over the coals this weekend! I know I shouldn't care about Marta, Lil and Brian but this whole thing of thinking it's okay to cheat on your husband if you really think the other man loves you is a pile of steaming shi*t and it makes me want to scream looking at Marta bawling and begging for her children's forgiveness. Now, Marcos wasn't cheating on her or absent from home (like the 10 year separation Marta could've ended by taking her sagging ass to Mexico), no, he was WORKING to support his two little babies and his skank of a wife. And now, "Oh, Fernando was playing with me!" Ya stoopid ****, he was married, you were married and you were a willing partner to submitting to him wherever the hell your dirty little trysts were! Luciana should STAY mad because Marta not only dishonored Marcos when he was alive, she's dishonoring his memory with all this pissing and moaning over Fernando! UUUUff!!!

Ok, ok, I'm better, I, I just missed fussing about that with all of you. What an idiotic story line. The whole DisGraceful manipulation of David could end in one afternoon: I'm sorry I can't remember, maybe it was Julie that said David himself acknowledged DGs plan: Fer needs Graciela to stay until she gets better. Now brainwashed Fer gives David permission to fall in love with someone . . .LIKE TIA GRACE. All Marta has to do is open her flapping trap and tell David that she heard Lil outline this whole plan to Gut. Then, we can move this drama away from two old heffas fighting over a dead man and have some dueling vineyards, Power Rangers rescue enslaved workers, anything but Lil, Marta and Brian!

Ok. I said I was done. I need to get some breakfast!

Wow Lila!

I'm sipping my coffee and laughed out loud in appreciation with "Oh, Fernando was playing with me!" Ya stoopid ****, he was married, you were married and you were a willing partner to submitting to him wherever the hell your dirty little trysts were!" What can I say Lila? Clever and dead on.

Glad you are back!

Like the rest of the patio, can't wait to see what Julie has in store for us today. Should be great fun.

Diana

Thanks, Diana! Guess I'd better go to Caray Home. . .could be missing a new post! See ya!

Good morning patio.

Lila..Doing all that work stuff all week at the conference seems to have left you with a lot of pent up..1.energy?..2.emotion??.....3.frustration?...4.rage??? All of the above? It is soooo annoying when real life interferes with our telenovelas and cyber life, right?

Cynthia, my best friend and I went to one of those conferences a few years ago. I thought it would be a fun day out, but some of those folks were very ..intense. Did you have a good time?

Julie..I am glad that you enjoyed The Power Rangers. I don't think that I can get Hubba to go to that one. Maybe King Kong.

Well, I got to sleep late for the first time in two weeks, so I plan to get some coffee and hang out on the patio (not my real patio...it is 54 right now) in between doing chores and correcting papers and grocery shopping.

Lila is back---I can hear her from here! Now, tell us how you *really* feel.

My beef is that Cynthia Klitbo is a fantastic actress. Just go back and watch her descent into dangerous crazyhood in El Privilegio de Amar. She was great in La Sombra, very recently. I can't believe she's turned into this flat, whiny, boohooing one-dimensional old lady (along with Azela Robinson) in a couple of years.

These writers and directors did not know what to do with these two women. What a waste. The two could have been written much better and still not lost the thread of the story. Sadly, Marta's revelation is no longer that shocking in today's times. And, it happens at all levels of society. It hurts families, sometimes indelibly, but no one dies from an adulterous affair (or do they....).

HA HA!! Anita, my therapist, Dr. Anderson, told me I need to be more emotionally expressive. . .it's that or he has some little pills I can take. . .

;D

Lila--careful, Dr. A's pills are meant to calm you down into a manipulative, vegetative state. We don't want you anywhere near vegetative.

Hee hee! Me either, but I AM going to need therapy or a support group if David falls for this line of bull!

Lila..ANita is right. You have to be vigilant of Dr. Evil's mind control techniques. You do not want to end up with Disgrace as your stepmother. Ew

Anita, Lila and Susanlynn,

Hello amigas.

I totally agree with you Anita that Azela and Cynthia are wasted here. I love Cynthia. The first time I saw her was Teresa, and although she has been lauded for her villain roles, I've only seen her as an antagonist (or here, a mixture?) but she's been great. I guess my comment is that I am glad they didn't go with less talented actresses for either part. Can you imagine? Shudder...

I do not want Fer to take those pills. Not sure if the doctor has to or plans on telling David or can he just give them to her? She is technically of age.

Susanlynn, glad you were able to sleep in today. I am hoping to do that tomorrow...

Diana

Think I should have said protagonist.

Diana

Hey, Diana! Hope you're feeling well today! Hope you all are! Where are the menfolk today?

Did Fer tell Dave about the pills? Did she tell him that she actually feels worse after a session with Dr. Evil? The conversation she had with DisGraceful, she should've had with Dave instead of this you need a woman like DG crap!

I don't think Fer told Dave about the pills or about feeling worse after her sessions. Of course, he is the one person she should be telling.
