Vino el Amor # 120-121 (Univision #113); Wednesday April 12, 2017: Vino el ayudo

#120

[The Univision episode was so chopped up I couldn’t make heads or tails out of it and I tried. So I went back to the Mexican version and even though this is long, I’m really sorry, it will make a lot more sense.]

Luciana shows up at SB Vineyard to help and she and Miguel get to work. She gives him a pep talk about what to do and how he needs to carry on. He says he’s grateful for everything she is doing for him.

Juan and Perla talk about how David wants to get back at him. He says it’s not his fault that Erica died and it’s her fault that she started to help with the fumigation. Perla wants him to give it up, but Juan insists that he’s going to make David pay for all he did in the past. Perla says, “If all you care about is getting revenge, then why do you want me with you?”  He promises it will end, but Perla brings up what the sheriff said that this could be homicide with Erica’s death. He says he is not worried, he’s a lawyer and he did nothing wrong. But Perla is still scared.

Luciana organizes the work for Miguel and tells him what needs to be done regarding getting rid of the new larvae. Mig starts to get sad because this is what Erika would have done. Lu invites him over to dine with them at the employees’ house with her mother.

Bobby, Dave, and DisGrace come back from Bobby’s soccer game. Seems that Bobby scored a goal. Marta offers to make Bobby something to eat, but Bobby says that his Tia got him hamburgers already. Lilian comes in and tells Marta that her grandson no longer needs Marta and to get on with her work.

Susan and Cesar are in the office doing some PDA. Dave comes in and tells them he is glad that they are back together. Luciana comes in and David is mad that Luciana is just getting there. He asks Susan and Cesar to leave so he can have a word with Luciana. They argue. Luciana says she got her work done earlier, but he accuses her of not caring about what happens there at his vineyard.

At the employees’ house León came in for some water and Sonia comes in too. She brings him her manuscript of her first novella to read. León is very excited and gives her a hug. She says there is no better judge than he is.

Fernanda calls Tano via Skype and he tells her about how it’s going with fumigating for the infestation. She talks about her activities and studies. They send their kisses and say goodbye.

Susan and Luciana discuss what happened with David and Susan says she should just help Miguel when there is nothing else going on at their office. Lu says that Miguel helped her a lot in the past now it’s her turn to help him out.

Adolfo cries over Erica’s picture in Erica’s room. Lilian comes over to him and tells him he needs to get something to eat and gives him some good advice. She tells him to fight for his vineyard because of Erica’s memory because she loved that vineyard. He needs to do it for her! Otherwise all her work and her passion goes to waste. Adolfo continues to cry and mourn as any parent in that situation. Lilian promises him that one day things will get better and advises him to be the father that Erica would have wanted to carry on for her. But he says he needs to be alone because nothing can stop the pain. [This is the most tender I have ever seen Lilian. It seems that sometimes she does have a heart and can comfort someone unselfishly.]

Luciana comes to David’s office to have a talk with him. She wants to know if David is just doing this out of jealousy. No, says David. He needs her there and the SB vineyard already won the competition and in his opinion, they shouldn’t need her help.

After Luciana leaves, DisGrace walks in and wants to know if he is done with his work yet. She wants to make sure he can relax.  Then Dave asks her to have dinner with him in town. [Bad idea, Dave!]

Next day Luciana comes to Miguel’s office at SB with some coffee. She asks him how he is doing and he tells her it’s difficult. She came early so that she can help out with whatever is pending and to finish everything up. Adolfo walks in and says, “Luciana, what are you doing here?” Lu says, “I’m sorry Adolfo, I don’t want to appear like an opportunist, but I just came to help out with what was needed over here because the plague situation was so urgent.” Adolfo explains that it’s very hard for him to work right now without his daughter and says that he wants her to stay and help out.

Marta and Ramon are in the employees’ kitchen and are sampling some fruit salad together. Ramon talks about the fumigation and they mention how Luciana has been helping out Miguel at the SB vineyard.

Adolfo came to his desk and was going over some paperwork and seemed impressed. Mig walks in and he says, “Did Luciana do all this? I had never contemplated any of this.” Miguel says, “Yes, she is quite capable and is really on top of everything. Since childhood she was taught by her father all about the vineyard.” Adolfo says, “And it shows.” Mig then asks Adolfo can go talk to the workers about what is happening but Adolfo says he just isn’t ready. Mig says that they really need to hear from him but Adolfo insists that he will when he is ready.

DisGrace and Dave come back from dinner and she is just chirping and happy. She gives him a kiss and he tells her that she has won a special place with his children.  DisGrace then says, “Well that’s because they are two small parts of your heart and that is why I love them so much.”

Adolfo looks at a photo of Erica and reminisces of a time she is there in the office with him and she talks about how she and Luciana might have been friends if things were different. She believes that they could have been a great team.

Miguel comes in and tells Adolfo all the things that need to be done. Adolfo says that right now he just can’t do anything and to call Luciana.

At breakfast, Marta offers to bring Fer’s breakfast to her. But Lilian says that Sonia already did it. DisGrace says she will take Bobby to school. Dave leaves to see what is going on with his vineyard and then Lil starts in on Marta sounding very much like Cinderella’s stepmother, giving her a litany of chores that do not seem to end. “Clean all the bathrooms and clean all the rugs when you are done with the bathrooms.”

David comes to talk to Susan and she explains that Juan’s roses are still there and because of them, the plague can continue to spread. David wants to go over there and take them out. Susan says no, because he can get in trouble and complicate things. Dave is so mad he wants to break something.

Luciana comes in and Dave is angry again because Luciana has been helping Miguel. She says she is just helping out because of the plague/infestation. Lu says that she is understanding David less and less lately.

Marta comes in with mop, broom, vacuum cleaner etc…Sonia sees her and offers to help her. Later Lilian comes in scolds Sonia for helping Marta. Lilian says she needs Sonia’s help as her “personal assistant.” She is going to take her over to Brian’s office and she is going to work with her over there.

David starts making phone calls. He calls someone named Aarón and asks if he’s in business with olive oil and if he knows Juan Tellez. He advises him not to do business with Juan because Juan stole from him and did all kinds of dishonest things. Dave tells him to alert everyone else who might be doing business with Juan.

Lu and Susan talk about the issues with the rose and the plague infestation. She shares how David wants to go to Juan’s fields and destroy the infected roses and how that will lead to trouble. Then on to some good news. She shares that she and Cesar are back together. With Erica’s death, it gave her a lot to think about and decided that life can change at any time and does not want to miss her chance for love and happiness.

At Juan’s apartment, Perla brings him a cup of tea and asks, “What is all this, Juan?” He holds up a book about California Labor Law and explains that he’s preparing for all that will be happening. Perla tells him not to play innocent and that Erica’s death is his fault. Until he pays a fine, this will be on his conscience.

Perla comes to the employees’ house where Carito is working. “Now what do you want?” says Carito. “Don’t be so mean”, says Perla. “What do you expect from me, I’m working extra hard right now because of all the fumigation going on from the infestation.” Perla asks if she is happy working there. Carito says, “For right now, it’s a JOB. And when push comes to shove, I’m going to stand behind the patron, not Juan.”

Miguel comes to David’s vineyard looking for Luciana, but David says they have their own troubles. Mig explains that if it weren’t absolutely necessary, he wouldn’t be there. Dave relents and tells him that he will tell Luciana he is waiting. Mig finds her and wants Lu to come help them out, but Lu says that she’s going to get in trouble with the boss if she spends too much time there. She advises where to spray and how then lays the bombshell down about where the plague started—from Juan’s fields. Miguel gets very angry and says he’s going to kill Juan with his bare hands.
[End of Mexican version #120]

#121
David walks in and tells him not to do anything stupid and explains how Juan did this for a revengeful quest of his. “So it’s your fault too that Erica’s dead!” says Miguel. Lu speaks up and says, “No, Juan is crazy and he’s on this crazy quest to destroy David.” Dave says the only thing you can do is report this to the police and let them do their job. Miguel says it’s just hard to keep his arms folded and do nothing. But David and Luciana say to let the police do the job. She says the best way to get justice is to control that plague. Miguel says, “Very well then, but I’m sure going to make sure that DOG pays for what he did!”

Marta continues vacuuming and Lil walks in and turns off the vacuum. She asks Marta if she is going to be able to keep up with her workload. Again, Sonia offers to help out, but Lilian says, “Do you want to keep your job or not?” Lil goes on to tell Marta that since Grace is helping the children now, her job as a nanny is no longer required.

Perla and Carito continue talking with Perla saying that Carito is betraying her. But Carito reminds her that the only reason she isn’t saying anything to the police is because she doesn’t want any harm to come to Perla. Perla says to Carito, “I don’t know why you act like Juan is the kind of person who would do anyone any harm. Do you really think I could fall in love with someone like that?” Carito just stares at Perla in disbelief. Carito says, “You are so in love with Juan you just don’t notice anything that is going on.”

Luciana and Susan come to Dave’s office. He wants Susan to give him a list of distributors and providers of olive oil in Sonoma. He wants to advise them what kind of person Juan is and not to do business with Juan. David also mentions that the extra expenses of the fumigation is costing a lot of money and affecting them economically. David also wants a plan for the expenses and for Luciana to prepare a proposal for cutting expenses. Then she asks to speak to David privately about their relationship. She tells him she doesn’t like how their relationship has been. Dave tells her that it appears to him that she doesn’t care about their vineyard. She promises that there will not be a problem with her work and she is very hurt that he has been angry with her. She promises to start working on the expense reduction report immediately.

Marta has a tray of snacks to take up to Fernanda. Lil comes and demands the tray from Marta and insists on taking the tray herself and tells Marta it’s not her job anymore. Marta comes in the kitchen crying and tells Sonia what happened. She tells Sonia that Lil is not letting her see the children.

Miguel returns to the SB vineyard and tells Adolfo that Juan is responsible for the plague and ultimately for Erica’s death. But Adolfo says that nothing will bring Erica back and nothing will help the pain he’s feeling right now.

Luciana meets with León, Tano, and Ramón about trying to cut the extra expenses at the vineyard. Lu’s idea is to let some of the extra workers go for certain days and they agree they can pick up the extra work for those days that the extra workers don’t come to work.

Miguel comes to see Juan and Mig accuses Juan of Erica’s death. Juan denies everything, says it’s not his fault and where was Miguel when she got sick? Finally he leaves and Perla starts in on Juan. She says she’s tired of all these problems and hopes she is wrong about what he did.

Tano is working in the distillery when DisGrace comes to see him and she asks him ho things are with Fernanda. Then she starts asking about the problems with the plague and Tano starts inadvertently telling her that the plague has come from Juan’s fields. He also makes mention of Luciana’s plan to reduce expenses because of all the extra spending they have been doing with extra workers, fumigation, etc...

Later Marta and Luciana talk in the kitchen and Marta warns her about getting involved with Miguel and urges her to be careful. Lu says it’s not like that, but Marta is afraid that they will get involved because Miguel just lost Erica and Lu’s relationship with David seems to be on permanent hold. Lu says she is wrong and explains that all she wants to do is help them out. Marta says there is a very fine line between support and dependence. Lu then says she is doing it for Adolfo too, but Marta is suspicious about Lu’s motives.

In the evening, DisGrace comes to Lil’s room with the news that the plague came from Juan’s fields and that Juan refuses to remove the infected plants. Lil says that DisGrace should talk to Juan about stopping what he’s doing that way Dave can be grateful to her. DisGrace doesn’t think that Juan will listen to her. Lil says she will talk to Brian about this.

The next morning, Sonia and Marta are making breakfast in the kitchen and Sonia tells Marta how much she loves León. Sonia also says that it’s very unfair what Lilian is doing to Marta and Marta can count on her for what she needs. Then Lilian comes in to get Sonia and says leave the cooking to Marta. They are having breakfast in town.

At the SB vineyard, a worker comes in to show Miguel and Adolfo some dirt that has gotten too dry. Adolfo wants to call Luciana.

Lilian brings Sonia to town and they go to the Sheriff’s office. She tells Sonia that this is a great opportunity a lot of people would kill to be there. Sonia says under her breath, “Well I’m glad I didn’t have to kill anyone.” “What did you say””, said Lilian. Sonia then says, “I’m so grateful for the opportunity that you have given me.” Lil then has Sonia wait for her in the hallway. Sonia looks uncomfortable.

Lil goes in to tell Gutierrez about Juan’s infected plants. Gut says it’s private property and there isn’t anything he can do. He tells Lil that Juan says he didn’t know about the plague because it doesn’t affect the olives. Lil asks Gut for a date but he doesn’t have time and promises to call her.

In the hallway, Sonia is looking at the uniformed police officers and takes pictures of them. She send to Leon and says he would look very handsome in uniform.

Lilian comes out of Gut’s office and says they are going back home. Sonia wants to know what kind of work she is supposed to do, but Lil says they are done and she will explain when she gets home.
Adolfo calls Luciana and tells her that the soil is drying out and requests for her to come and supervise the soil movement. She gets up to leave but Susan advises against it and says, “Don’t be late.”

Later David comes in and he’s looking for Luciana. He wants the proposal and he is angry again because he wants that proposal now!

At the SB Vineyard, Lu helps Miguel and he’s complaining about all the work he can’t keep up with. Adolfo comes in and asks about the situation with the soil and she tells him that she advised that they move the dirt with the tractor and move in new soil. Susan calls and tells her David is looking for her and to hurry back.

DisGrace prances into David’s study and asks what she can do to help. He tells her that he does not want her money. She says, “Well, how about if I help you brainstorm and help you with a solution?” So then she parrots off the information she got from Tano and David thinks it’s a wonderful idea. “I didn’t know you were so good with numbers!” said David. [She isn’t at all. She’s just faking it, like she does everything else.]

Lu comes back and begins to finish off her proposal for cutting expenses.

Lil and Sonia return to the house and are in Lilian’s room and Lil is very vague about what she wants Sonia to do making references to her “contacts.” “So where are your contacts?” says Sonia. Lil says, “They are in my cell phone. But first, bring me some wine.” DisGrace gleefully barges in and says, “Some wine for me too, Sonia!” DisGrace hops up on the bed just gushing about how she helped David out with his expenses. She has convinced David that he does not need Luciana.

Juan is on the phone with a client who is cancelling his olive oil order. He says it’s the second client who has just cancelled. He tells Perla he is going to investigate why he’s getting the cancellations.

Finally, Lu comes to David’s study with her completed plan, but he rejects it because she’s late with it. He hands her the plan he came up with via DisGrace. She reads it and says, “This looks very similar to the plan I just wrote.” David then tells her since she has spent so much time at the other vineyard, then he doesn’t need her anymore. [End of 121]

1.) Perla is still an IDIOT! Karma coming for her expletive real soon.

2.) Carito highly likely getting her hands on Miguel now that Erika has passed away UGH!

3.) Has Graciela slept with David yet ?

4.) Susan & Luciana Best Friends Forever.

5.) Why was Sonia told to stand outside of Gutierrez's office by Deborah Sanders 2.0 ?

6.) Miguel confronting Juan wasn't surprising.

Cynthia..Thank you for going to the time and trouble of recapping two episodes.

My dad used to tell me that dirt goes into the vacuum, but soil is in the fields. He was very lucky about that.

What a mess. Now, Gracie really feels assured that she has DAve right where she wants him..Under her thumb. I loved the screen cap of her grabbing him by the ears and pulling him in for that kiss..Bblleecchh.

I am getting tired of Lilian acting like the queen of the castle ordering both Sonia and Marta around. She is so petty and a legend in her own mind. I hope that the roll in the hay with Fernando was worth all these years of getting bossed around and demeaned by LAdy Lilian. I cannot wait for Lilian's world to start to tumble down when the truth finally cones out..Somehow.

Lucky????...No autocorrect..I typed picky.

Thank you so much, Cynthia! What a tremendous amount of effort. Muchisimas gracias!

Lordy, I'm as tire of fussing as y'all are of reading my fuss-outs!

How in the HELL did SB make the best wine in the world if it all falls to pieces with the death of Erica and only Luciana can save them! So, they can't figure out how to use a tractor to remove dried out soil and replace it with new soil? SERIOUSLY?

And is DUMB-veed so Gee Dee stupid that he couldn't figure out the basics of an economic austerity plan that Grace could hear idiot Tano describe in thirty seconds, understand and then feed to his brain-dead ass and he thinks DG came up with it and now doesn't need Luciana! I swear, I'm about ready to put me out of my misery and just watch the end of this BULL SHIT!!!

And Marta, STFU!!! NOW, she's worried about Luci getting re-involved with Miguel because he, or both of them, will misinterpret his vulnerability after the death of Erica. What the fork does this woman want/expect out of her daughter! And to compare this situation and actually use the name of FERNANDO in spewing this spill! Gosh, I hate her! What a stoopid bitch!

Luciana, tet the fork away from this crazy-assed place, honor the memory of your father, Marcos, by putting an end to wasting your talents at that fricking three ring circus of idiocy!

What a frustrating episode! See y'all later. Thanks again, Cynthia!

Wow Cynthia, what a trooper. Thank you ten times over for making sense out of nonsense.

I felt sorry for DumVeed all along because he was just spoiled and stupid. That goes out the window when it turns into stupid asshole. But wait there's more: Call now and double your order, just pay a separate handling fee and get a Stupid Arrogant Asshole Jerk. (Can't fight either). Looked like a couple sorority sisters squabbling over a hairbrush. Sorry girls. :-)

Luci could just jump ship, go to work for Adolfo and be appreciated. Sometimes you just have to look around you and see all those turds floating around and realize you somehow fell in the sewer and need to get out. Leave these Looney Toones to sink or swim before that smell gets on you and you can't wash it off.

NOT that I watch cartoons :-) but I have seen more believable shit with Wiley Coyote and the Roadrunne.....r Beep Beep !

Gracias, Cynthia.

Miguel is vulnerable now but poor Adolfo is a basket case. That man needs professional help and he will probably need Miguel to handle the legal issues about Juan's actions.

There has to be something in the legal system to force the removal of the infected roses that are affecting the vineyards.

Lillian is definitely playing Cinderella's stepmother here. What she is doing to Marta is bad enough but threatening to fire Sonia if she helps her is beyond the pale.

More later; I have to prepare for my tax appointment.

Cynthia, thank you for putting all of this mish mash together in a coherent, carefully crafted, superb summary.

"[This is the most tender I have ever seen Lilian. It seems that sometimes she does have a heart and can comfort someone unselfishly]" mirrored the situation perfectly. Two steps forward. Yet, her imperious and demanding attitude with Marta has her taking two steps back. "Legend in her own mind" is right Susanlynn.I am tired of their bickering and frankly, tired of both of them. Period.

"Luciana says she got her work done earlier, but he accuses her of not caring about what happens there at his vineyard" and then the flabbergasting "David then tells her since she has spent so much time at the other vineyard, then he doesn’t need her anymore" were stinging. It's taken me 120/121 episodes, but I must say friends, that I think I am quite done with David. And then to add insult to injury "Lu then says she is doing it for Adolfo too, but Marta is suspicious about Lu’s motives". Sigh.

There are many reasons to be perturbed about David's behavior. How quickly he has forgotten that Erica and Adolfo saved his vineyard. And now, he will not offer a helping hand. Or at least Luciana's helping hand. His indifference toward her is the unkindest cut of all.

"DisGrace then says, “Well that’s because they are two small parts of your heart and that is why I love them so much.” I am glad I hadn't eaten...Ack.

"Adolfo continues to cry and mourn as any parent in that situation". So sad..

So Fernanda is not among the missing but among those shorn by the scissors!

"Perla tells him not to play innocent and that Erica’s death is his fault" - yet, she continues to stay.

Enjoyed Sonia and Leon. Will she become a famous writer?? I have no doubt.

Lila, last night I thought that Luci must leave as well. For now, I think she should continue to help "next door". She would be working for Adolfo, who appreciates and respects her and with Miguel, who does the same.

David, you are this close to being dead to me. Once Luci walks out that door, your world will crumble and no one deserves it more than you.

Cynthia, thank you for this sparkling summary.

Diana

Urban, "Cinderella's step mother" - good one!

And ANOTHER thing. If someJuan caused the chick I had already put a ring on to die, and I had to bury that brand new (probably not even paid for) ring with her, And I went to the trouble to find where he lives, AND I trotted my Happy Ass all the way over there to confront him, you can bet your sweet bippy I am bringing one of those dirt truck loads of ass whipping with me.

Winkle up his shirt and tell him ewe are willy willy mad about da dead chick? Lots of guys just skip a step and empty a clip into him right there at the front door.

AAArrrrggghhh

Do none of these Einsteins (Sonia/Marta) think of going to the Vineyard Brain Trust (David in case I threw you off with that) and having a little chat about Lillian? This is not the Medieval Times with indentured servants and slaves. These are employees with social security numbers, benefit plans, we hope, and the like.

That shit last night pissed me off so much I had to eat some ice cream. (At Night !)

Ommmm....Ommmmmm...Ommmmmm
Calm Down

Kirby...Any excuse for self medicating with ice cream is okay. I don't buy it so it is not in the house, but my fav is coffee with chocolate bits for a great on vacation trips. Edy's is very good.

Grumpus is insufferable. He can't be jealous now that he has declared that Grace is in his life , so he accuses LUlu of not doing her job. Boo and hoo. When I started teaching, an older teacher used to tell me " the strongest donkey pulls the load" and "the wheel that squeaks the loudest gets the oil." Everyone knows who the donkeys are and who the wheels are. I get a kick out of all the folks here who want to be big wheels. Another wise saying is "if you lie down like a the, people are going to walk on you." We have some rugs here, too.

So go out into your day and be thankful that you don't have Lilian or Grumpyface breathing down your neck ordering you around or Grace pawing you all over.

Sorry...Lie down like a RUG

Like everyone else I'm tired of this turd and again thank you again Cynthia for making it smell like a rose.

"there is a very fine line between support and dependence"

Ditto your comment Lila!

You are correct UA. David and Adolfo could bring a civil action against Juan to remove the infected roses.

Errr. Bleach blond pencil penis Uncle Dave hasn't the raisins to tell Luciana he's got a gf and yet throws fits she spends time helping the same vineyard that still has his irrigation pipe running through it. That said, Luciana is doing this primarily for Miguel but she still had me right up till she bailed on the proposal after she and David had their talk. David should fire her and speed the eventual reconciliation of the wine cellar sweethearts. Note to self: This is the first TN I've watched the protag spent more time with the other guy.

It's weird to me, after seeing Fernanda dominate the show, to be awol.

Anyway, Miguel sure puffed up as Luciana told him how to do his job and he concurred he needed to act Dave like. That was his grand plan from the beginning. To prove he is a worthy partner and if all things equal professionally Luciana would choose him. I'm not impressed with him but if they build on Erika's vision they should have a great life and successful vineyard ahead of them. Luciana is more than capable of popping out Miguel's children and managing things.

Thank you Cynthia. I know it's a hassle to track down those Mexican episodes and find time to watch them. You are right, they filled in a lot of gaps and I appreciate your efforts.

David should fire Luciana. She's helping the competition. In the real world, she'd be gone. I'm kind of chuckling that Gracie stole her idea for saving money and used it first.

I'm glad Lilian is there for Adolfo and they are showing different sides to her.

I sort of am wondering if the actress playing Fer had a side gig during these episodes because tofie, you're right, the character is AWOL at a weird time.

There is an easy answer to what is going on with David. Just as his and Adolfo's grapes are getting infected with those parasites, David is infected by one of his: DisGrace.

For a while it looked as though David was treating her like the children's nanny and she was beginning to resent it. She is going to up the ante on this and she has Lillian backing her up by blocking Marta's access to the children while she blocks Luciana's. She doesn't have to work as hard at that because unlike herself and Lillian, Luciana actually works. David is in the middle of an ugly squeeze play and the current plague is now very top of mind.

Now is therefore a bad time to try to draw his attention to Lillian's behavior toward Marta (which really should have been addressed long ago).

In a previous episode David said something about needing to be angry with Luciana in order to keep his distance from her. He is still obviously jealous of whatever her relationship had been with Miguel and definitely afraid of it being revived. I don't think he is sufficiently self-aware to realize this. He will need Cesar or Susan to point this out.

David should absolutely not fire Luciana.

Since the SB vineyard is next door to the LA one, it makes total sense for Luciana to help because a plague like that spreads. While the LA vineyard is not in immediate danger they will be if the SB vineyard is overrun. If both of their borders touch Juan's they need to join forces.

That is the maddening thing with David. Luci is for all practical purposes still saving it for a married man. From what we see,David spends maybe an hour a day supposedly 'working' and the rest with "Their" kids and DisGrace. She paws all over him as if he were her property and he willingly lets it happen, so they should be together. Maybe for Easter Dave and Grace can get a roll of Charmin and go out and take a couples shit on Lisa's grave. Romantic.

Then in a fit of jealousy Dave wants to almost fire her ("We don't need you TODAY")? WTF girl, it is walking time.

You girls may not pay attention like I do, but did anyone notice in the first of the show last night Luci was wearing those Leggings printed to look like jeans with contrasting stitching to show the front pockets and fly? They had no back pocket markings and were very thin material. Then later on in the show she had on her regular spray-on real jeans with a real belt and real zipper front and real back pockets.

#WaitWhat? Which one died, Erika or FerBrat? They are both missing.

:-)

David might be thinking that is Luciana isn't there in plain sight day-to-day he could reconcile himself to being with DisGrace "for the sake of the children."

Didn't he date her in college before meeting and falling in love with Lisa? Didn't he boink the succubus then? He had no regrets breaking up with her to be with Lisa and that is a tough situation.

I don't think they ever said how far the double-dating (David/Graciela, Juan/Lisa) got before David and Lisa hooked up, but it's not completely impossible that they didn't get to the boink stage. They probably did, since this would have roughly been the early 90s, but still. (Flip side, if Graciela's been jonesing for David for nearly a quarter-century...was it that good, girl?)

Aaaanyway...David reverting once again to grumpy LQNPA Rogelio mode and blowing Luciana off--and her not quite getting it out that she was helping Miguel and Adolfo, not just Miguel--was infuriating. We're twenty episodes out from the end of the show (10 in Univision time) and they're still pulling this crap? How are we supposed to root for the protagonists when they're still acting like children?

I don't think that it being "that good" is really the issue; it was taking him away from Lisa. Like with Nuria and Paulina in AQNMD it was always about taking away what she considered to be rightfully hers.

DisGrace murdered Lisa but in the three years since then she has failed to be #1 with Lillian. Now she hopes for that by marrying David (and his dinero) but if this were only the middle of the series she would still fail. That isn't how parental favoritism works because she would always be competing with the memory of Lisa.

She might have become a happy person if she would ever have realized that winning the favor of such a parent is useless. Had she just been her own person with a successful art career she could have married someone else with dinero in addition to making her own. That is the best revenge against a toxic parent.

Urban when you have truly toxic parents you move away, Get caller ID and write them off. You are truly an adult and the first stage of happiness and normalcy is when you can see your parents for who they really are, for better or worse. If they are beyond changing, (they usually are) and they are the type of people you would avoid at all costs, then being your biological parents is a small consideration.

You see it in the news all the time, grown children of psycho parents still sucked down into their pit of dysfunction when there is a whole beautiful world out there with open arms.

If they went out of their way to screw you up when you were a little helpless child, you hardly owe them any debt when you are old enough to fledge the nest and escape the craziness.

WHEW ! after all that I gotta cool my nuts!

GrumpyDave is acting like a petulant child. ...well, a petulant grandpa actually. So attractive in a galan. His tantrum about "Where's Luci???!" was insulting. He knows that Luci is a responsible , hardworking employee . I guess that he has forgotten that Adolfo and Erica were willing to help him when Juan cut off his irrigation water supply. Very ungrateful , Dave. Are we supposed to hate the supposed galan? What has happened to the characters in telenovelas? Lately, it is hard to tell the good guys from the bad because they seem to be equally flawed . I need a hero.

Hi, Cynthia. Thank you so much for using the Mexican version. The Univision version gave me whiplash and a headache.

I felt really sorry for Miguel. Adolfo was a mess - understandable - so everyone is looking to Miguel to step up. Hello, he is grieving too.

I can't believe David was such a dick about Luciana wanting to help Mig. David of all people should know how this feels. He pretty much went into a vegetative state when Lisa died, letting Juan rob him blind. He wants to be able to keep Luciana around all the time, working for him, while he carries on with the succubus. I am TRYING to root for these two, but I need David to meet me halfway!

And what are they putting in IB's hair?? Her hair looked like licorice whips when they had the first competition, now it looks like they spilled random garbage on it.

As I was watching Lil with Adolfo last night it occurred to me that when Lisa died, Lil probably had no one to talk to since she is a harpy with no close friends. This might be the first time she's ever discussed it with anyone.

I'm disappointed that Miguel didn't kill Juan with his bare hands.

And thanks for the pictures too, Cynthia. The one with Mig and Juan was great. I'm just sorry there wasn't any blood. And the picture of Grace and David - is she trying to take his ear?

Episode 121...

I noticed that Marta was using a shop vac as a vaccum cleaner. Interesting choice.

When David told Luci that it looked as though she didn't care about his vineyard, I wanted her to quit. NOW I don't care about your vineyard, you selfish ungrateful jerk.

And now Marta is trying to discourage Luci from getting with Miguel... under the circumstances, she's right, but as usual she is so hung up on her own issues that she wasn't hearing what Luci was trying to tell her.

I am skeptical that there's nothing that can be done legally about the infected plants. Seems to me that it would be considered an economic threat to the region and would require intervention from the state agricultural commission or something? Because it's apparently contagious and has already spread to two neighboring properties.

Julie..evidently, that greasy looking long hair is "a look" now. I guess Lu is supposed to look like a wild, young earthy girl compared to Grace's carefully coiffed look . or there was a big sale on gel at the local CVS.

I agree that Dumbbunny🐇 Dave thinks it is rational that Luci , his indentured servant, should just keep endlessly circling him in his orbit while he settles Grace in as mommywife.

Good point about toxic Lilian never having any friends to talk to when Lisa died. What a sad, selfish, sorry existence this woman has chosen to lead.

Erica's death should have been a wakeup call for these people. "Do not delay . The golden moments fly." Longfellow ticktock ...Do not waste your life on revenge and greed.

Julie..ha..Grace really grabbed that ear. Maybe she was thinking about giving him a wet willy. Grace is so gleeful that she seems to be on the brink of roping and hogtying old Dumbbunny🐰. And then......what will she do with him ?

Julie...Since we sold our farm into land preservation, people come and walk the property checking to make sure that nothing is happening to the land. You would think that some kind of agency (EPA? ) Should have been called. They came when the neighbor started cutting down a bunch of trees on our land near a stream.

After reading all the comments so far, I wonder if this is going to be one of those finales where David repents, says he was wrong and will never do it again, and then we're supposed to be satisfied that they'll be happily ever after.

Kirby, I did not know that eating ice cream at night was a shocking thing. I hope it didn't turn you into a gremlin. I appreciate your attention to clothing detail, btw. I didn't notice Luci's "jeggings." Maybe her regular spray-on jeans were getting re-shrunk in the wash.

Susanlynn... your guess is as good as mine what Grace will do with David after she "gets" him. Keep him chained up in the basement? Play cribbage? Play cribbage chained up in the basement?

Speaking of things that we don't see in TNs any more, whatever happened to The Haircut? The one the protagonista gets during ultimos capitulos? Was that just a brief fad? Because for a few years at least, it was a regular thing. I miss it. Will Luci get a smooth little bob? Or maybe a shag or a pixie? A Rachel, perhaps? A Dorothy Hamill? How about a Farrah?

A Grace Jones? A Sinead O'Connor? ;D

After Grace planted another on on Dave and then waltzed out in her R E D dress he made a funny grimace/frown.

Was he making faces trying to get his ears to settle back into position? One of my Fraternity Brothers could move his ears independently at will without making any kind of face. I could never master it. David reminded me of myself in my articulated ear practice.

Sue: What was NoJuan doing cutting down trees on YOUR land to begin with? You are probably going to need some sulfates.

Osprey -- Miguel

Fish -- NoJuan.

Hey Osprey/Miguel - leave something for the compost pile/prison.

She would probably be cute with a Grace Jones, Lila! LOL!

Julie: Cougar Sonia & her Cub Leon getting freaky. I wouldn't be surprised if Univision deleted their sex scenes.

*I think DUD-veed is going to marry DisGracious and then Juan's going to blackmail her into going to San Fransisco with him but then noJuan will arrange for mouth breather DUH-veed to happen upon one of their trysts and THEN, when DOH-veed's peanut-sized balls and brains are about to explode Don'tyaJuana will out DisGrovel as Lisa's killer. . .with or without the use of a cell phone. DUMB-veed's head will explode, they'll clean the place up and have the wake in his despacho and Luci will be there with sprayed on black "jeans" and greasy ringlets. She and Miguel will leave after the service to return to SB to save Erica's dream!

*Scenario adapted from previously submitted by my Patio Pals.

Kirby..this guy was a bad guy. He tried to intimidate my mother, and threatened my hubby and theEPA agent when they confronted him. Hub had the land surveyed , and the guy covered up the stakes! Then, his past caught up with him , and he went to jail . It was complicated. He was a con artist.Horrible time for all of us, especially hub who nearly got in a physical fight with him. Bad memories .

Wow..lots of descriptions of Dave's bits and pieces today. Yikes.

Story goes south. . .we go south! ;D

Sue the trick in life is to sort out the 'annoying' sorta bad people from the DisGrace-style ones early.

Like you and yours was with that guy, many of us err on the side of goodness giving the DisGraces too much rope.
I know I usually do.

Yeah, David, regardless of his motives, has crossed the line. With or without DisGrace's slug trails all over him, to treat Luci that way is not forgivable. Like all of us have said, time to actually leave and get farther than the mailbox.

David is just trying to make sure Luciana stays in her place. This is working for him. He knows Luciana loves him and dedicated to the land her father worked and for her to get lippy or go help someone else means he's losing control. Luciana needs to know she's only an employee so like it or leave.

Too bad Luciana hasn't met a new guy who's wife or gf didn't just die. Helping a guy outta his funk doesn't appear to have legs.

Sadly, you are right, tofie, as is Susanlynn at 10:42. Even if Dave and Luci do end up together in the end, it's going to be as unfulfilling as those hairy kisses he's going to bestow on her at the altar.

:/

Thanks everyone for your comments. I was tired last night after going through this a couple times. I got so frustrated trying to fix up what Univision aired. So thanks for hanging in there and bearing with me.

I would think it would be a state government emergency if that kind of plague/infestation was found in our northern California vineyards. Years ago we had an oriental fruitfly problem here in southern California and we had helicopters spraying the area with malathion every night. They did this because they found one infected orange tree in East Los Angeles and three fruitflies. So we all got sprayed with this pesticide several nights a week for what seemed to be a long time. They considered this an emergency because of our orange/citrus tree crops. Lots of us have our own orange, lemon, citrus trees in our backyards. (I am up to my ears in oranges from my tree. I have to throw them away if I can't give them all away.)

Anyway, we have laws here in California regarding food and agriculture. If you go to our California Government law page, you'll find http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displayexpandedbranch.xhtml?tocCode=FAC&division=4.&title=&part=&chapter=&article=

Read #4 on Newly discovered pests. Then read chapter 6 on abatement:

http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codes_displayText.xhtml?lawCode=FAC&division=4.&title=&part=1.&chapter=6.&article=1.

I guess in the Mexican POV, the government does not get involved. In reality, it would be a state emergency and abatement would begin immediately before the entire state's vineyard crops would be affected. Juan would be arrested and put in jail.

I would think so. That would be a very serious economic threat to the region.

The idea of throwing oranges away is so horrible. Can't you donate them to a good cause?

Thanks for looking that up, Cynthia. I didn't think a contagious plague would be ignored just because it's on "private property," especially when economically significant crops are involved!

If I'm reading this correctly, the Commissioner would require all three property owners (David, Juan, and Adolfo) to control and contain the pest at their own expense within a certain period of time. And then I suppose Adolfo and David would have to sue Juan to recoup the costs.

(Cotton is a nuisance?)

Urban, I don't even have enough time to go out there and pick all my oranges, so many of them fall to the ground and begin to rot. I pick as many as I can and give as many away as possible. I bring a lot to work and hand them out to my co-workers. I always say if there is an earthquake or famine (in case of a zombie apocalypse) and I can't get food, I can always eat my oranges and never starve.

Julie: It looks that way, but I'm also thinking of how all private property had been sprayed with malathion years ago because the state's citrus crop was threatened. If this plague is so contagious, then the state would have the right to step in and spray where ever there are vineyards. The wine industry is huge here.

Thank you for that vital information, Cynthia! So everybody would get sprayed and Juan would go to jail. All this just reminds us we not only have to suspend disbelief, but we have to wear beanies bolted to our noggins for this whole storyline!

Lil should make Marta wear a uniform and black Dr. Scholl's.

"Lil should make Marta wear........" yeah m
Marta should make Lil wear a shiner and busted lip.

I'm a little surprised that Lil and Marta have never had a physical fight. I'm normally a peaceful person, but listening to those two bicker, I want to pop both of them.

(I know... Lil is too lazy to throw a punch, and Marta doesn't want to get fired. Just the same, they need to find a way to settle things once and for all.)

Well we did see Lilian slap Luciana a couple weeks back, didn't we? So we know Lilian has a penchant to get somewhat violent.

You're right, Cynthia. I forgot about the Luciana slap!

If I believed the writers had put any thought into this, I would find this inconsistency strange.

Cynthia, liking the recap girl. Now Y
Is it that Miguel don't know what to
Do anymore? Did his brain die with Erica? Where's all that knowledge he had with him when he left the ragtag
Vineyard? They are really letting Erica down with all this "I can't do
Nothing now that erica's gone"mindset
Attitude. It's like their brains are
Just as dead as Erica is, no longer there.
Dumb Gracie.Stole Lucy's idea and pass
It off as her own. What if she needs to Elaborate on it? She'd be in a pickle. And dimbulb David is all ateup
With jealousy. But he has a point, Lucy
Should take care of her own house, then
Help them other poor dumb people who
Can't for themselves to get rid of dried soil. As long as mig has been in
This business he should have know that
But his brain is turned off, so he can
Not think.I understand the morning,but
Dang these two men are just totally
Helpless. Did Erica know that?

Lil the witch. What is she up to?
Marta is right, Lucy needs to be very careful, cuz it would be easy to fall
Into the mig's kisses of grieving and
He into her kisses of breakup heart break.
Who killed juan? They lining around thd block.
David is jealous dating Gracie.I can't
Tell about this guy,he has these weird
Expressions on his face, most of the time.

Let's see how it goes tonite.Thank you
Cynthia.

Can you imagine what it would be like to have someone like Lilian bossing you around all day long? Cinderella was eventually rescued by Prince Charming. Marta's best hope is sweet Ramon or crazy, mixed up, muscled Gut.

Susanlynn: I'm sorry to hear about your experience.

My wife's sister had some similar issues in QC, Philippines.

I don't feel sorry for Marta at all. She tried to steal Lilian's husband and bf and she never misses an opportunity to rub it in Lilians face that men and the kids like her better.

Since Lillian is such a vitch and always has been, I'm sure Fernando was dogging after quite a few women; Marta was only one of them. I'm also sure she didn't make the first move.

UA: Lillian AKA Deborah Sanders 2.0 isn't going down just yet because she's got more schemes cooking up.

Did we ever find out why Lil insisted that Sonia accompany her to the sheriff's office? Was that just a ploy to prevent Sonia from helping Marta, or was there some legit purpose as well?

Julie..yes, it was weird that Lilian insisted that Sonia cone with her and then left her standing in the hallway. As you said, I think she did not want Sonia helping Marta. These people have to move on. Both Lilian and Marta's storylines are getting boring.

Lilian's taking Sonia with her was only a ruse to make sure that Sonia didn't help Marta, that's all.

Well, it's a good thing Sonia didn't have to kill anyone for the privilege.

Who in hell is Deborah Sanders?

I've been wondering that too... I thought I googled it once and found that she was a character on some show that I don't watch. But I googled again just now and I can't even find that.

LOL, she was a villain played by Mercedes Molto in Telemundo's Bajo el Mismo Cielo.

Thank you, Anon!

I just want to say this one last thing
Why is Marta carrying the pale, the mop
The broom, the vacuum canister, and the
Jose and parts at one time? Who the hell does that? And up stairs? No way
Would I do that. No wonder she's all burnt out. Yes she's an employee, but
She need to tell lil where to get off Ok on To the next episode.
