Caray, Caray!

Sorry this is late, but whenever I got into writing, my daughter needed something: to dance, to play, a snack...
Here goes, I hope I didn't forget anything.

There is a party at Furia. They are celebrating Estela's arrival , Don Chayo signing a new contract and Danilo becoming part owner of the company. Morgana wants Dani to introduce her as the girlfriend, but he barely acknowledges her presence. He is busy talking to Don Chayo's lawyer, trying to convince him to go into the money laundering business. The lawyer is appalled at first, but Dani seems to be getting to him.
Mercy and Joe leave the party early; she's had enough of her step-son for now. There is some news in the papers: the prosecutor who worked on Ryan's case and his assistant died in an "accident".

Estela asks Ryan to leave the party room, too, because she needs to make out talk things out with him. Why is he still on her case, he does know that she's leaving as soon as the Jaripeo is over, right? He takes her to somewhere more private, the stage of the big auditorium where the festival will take place. They get into a fight about his reasons for inquiring into her future. Why does he care, why can't a promise for help be just that, with no strings attached?
Ryan can't help it, he needs to discover the mystery that is Estela and all her mysterious life and mysterious past and ... he gets the  crazy eyes, if she weren't into him so much, it would look borderline obsessive. Estela says that she needs her space, but what Estela actually wants is to kiss him. And that she does, with no resistance coming from him. Bright screen behind them, it looks like the perfect first kiss...that is, until Ryan says that he never thought anyone would make him feel the same as Realstela did. Dude! Way to ruin a good thing. Good luck getting back into Fauxstela's graces now.



Mr. Blake has asked all his contacts in Mexico to look for Laura Oviedo. Luisa tries to suggest that she go investigate, but he will hear none of it.

During the press conference that annouces Don Chayo's new contract and the new festival, the journalists are more interested in the connection between organized crime and regional music. Don Chayo, Ryan, Mercy and Danilo are all present, all denying this in their own way, so the journalists insist with the Estela connection - she's Pedro Carillo's daughter and she is now working for Furia. And the talk turns to her and her involvement with the company, Ryan's trial and, by the way, did you know that the prosecutor is dead?
Mercy tries to divert the talk, by mentioning that Estela is only an employee, this is a family business and the company will be inherited by her grand-daughter. Danilo doesn't like this subject too much, so he starts to babble about his own interests - his band and him being part owner of Furia.

In the meantime Estela is at home, spending time with Paloma and calling her friend, who got her fake papers the first time around. She explains that she needs to stick around for a while, but could he find her a safe place to go later on? He wants to know if she needs another set of fake IDs, too. Good question, Estela is left wondering.

Mercy thinks the press conference was a succes. Now Ryan needs to focus on patching things up with Estela and Paloma. He wonders why the sudden cheering for their couple and Mercy has no problems admitting this is about the stocks. Besides, why should they not be together? He obviously still loves her and she loves him, she wouldn't have testified for him after seeing his letters otherwise. Ryan is impactado, he had no clue that Mercy had taken his poems and everything he had ever written after Realstela's disappearance. At the same time he is surprised that this is what convinced Fauxstela to testify in his favor.
Mercy suggests he give Estela the Virgen Piedad necklace he wanted to offer her at one time in the past. Mercy had said no then, but now she is willing to let it go. Ryan doesn't want to anymore, though.

Later on Mercy and Estela run into one another by the pool. They share a smoke (!!! a protagonista smoking! that's a first!) and bond, while Mercy shares stories about Ryan's past. He left home when he was 18 (unlike all telenovela protagonists ever), he only got back when Estela broke his heart.  Why are they fighting with one another, when they should be fighting for their love instead?

Estela and Ryan meet later on in the room, she thinks that his poems could be turned into songs.They agree that they both have great loves in their past but Estela says that she managed to get over hers, while he's still stuck in his. So she's leaving after the Festival. 

Danilo tells Assdrubal that he tried to convince Don Chayo's lawyer to be part of their scheme. Assdrubal is shocked by such stupidity -  he'll clean Danistupid's mess, but this is a one time only deal.

Some time passes, as Estela is organizing the event, Ryan is not losing sight of her, Mercy is observing them, Danilo is always lurking and Morgana is getting greener by the day.

The Festival day finally arrives. Estela looks very nice, Mercy offers to give her a certain necklace to make her even prettier. She can't find it, though, so she complains with Ryan that the help is of no good. Ryan does know where the necklace is, though, Mercy should make an effort and remember where she left it, because HE found it in Pedro Carillo's possession, the day he found him dead.
Busted! Mercy is impactada, she tries to make up a story, saying that Walter Cabrera had been in business with Pedro in the past, she might have seen Pedro before he died but she doesn't remember...
I don't get this! Ryan found the necklace on Pedro but he never said a word about it to his mom while he was on trial for murder??
Their fight gets really tense, she insists that she's not feeling well and she finally faints. When she comes to, she promises she will tell Ryan the whole truth as soon as the Jaripeo is over.

Danilo is meeting the lawyer to give him the dirty money. The guy wants to back down, but then he's threatened by Assdrubal his team of goons. Long story short, Danilow still needs to learn a thing or two about this type of business and Assdrubal won't always be this understanding.

Later Danilo and Morgana get ready. Estela comes to check up on them and Morgana has to leave, although she's not too pleased to do so. Danilo and Estela bond over their shared love for music and he composes a few lyrics about her on the spot. She thinks they're OK, but she adds some improvements and they share a moment, right before Morgana barges in again.
Estela leaves and Morgana wonders if she can "play" with Ryan as long as Danilo is "playing" Estela. He warns her not to overstep, he is doing everything for them and she better watch it! 

Estela is fixing the last details before the show starts. There is a big turn out and it looks like she is in charge, which is kind of WTF since she was just hired and this was supposed to be a big deal for Furia. But Mercy isn't even present (because of her crisis or she never meant to go?) and Ryan only comes to gaze at Estela and wish her good luck. She is nervous, Ryan can see that she put all her heart into this event; it's been a while for him, but he's nervous, too. He wants to get closer, but she rejects him straight away. He apologizes for the Realstela slip up, she says there is no needs, since theirs was a business arrangement that is about to be over. Ryan gets upset, it's not like he forced her to kiss him (no, Ry, she jumped you, remember?). They both agree that it was a mistake and decide never to repeat it, as Danilo and his band go on stage and start to sing.

Ryan gets a call from the house. Arriving he finds out that Mercy took five pills, instead of just one. He goes to see her and wants to take her to the hospital. She'd rather the doctor come to her, so she can stay at home with her two beloved children! (she says hijos, but that could also mean a boy and a girl, so what gives?)
