La Piloto #79 6-23-17: Estela La Bella Gives All; Col. Humpty Dumpty And El Presidente Presumpty, Have Their Great Fall; And Zulima Gets Away After All

Kirby had some excellent pointers I'd thought Anita had put up also which I wanted to at least give credit for but I didn't see them to add in or to credit for Thursday, 6/21...   --ed.

Parte 1~~

Yolanda’s hiding under a bed in someone’s cell in the cell block where the lights have gone off.  Meanwhile crooked guard gal is telling the inmates they’ve experienced a power failure in some areas of the prison and must stay in the main area till things are sorted out.
Col. Santa Maria isn’t quite sure where she’s hiding but is certain she’s there and he’ll find her.  “—You have to admit I’ve shown plenty of patience with you.  (Maybe his twin in another parallel universe, but not after that branding iron trick of his.) If you’d only behaved the way you should have we could have been the perfect couple and gone off to Venezuela together.”

Just as he’s turned his back on her and entered into the cell a couple up from her, she sneaks out and grabs the keys and some big board or piece of a 2X4.  She sneaks up on him and slams him in the back with that bit of 2X4.  Whack!
He drops his gun and she fights but he grabs her by the neck and they land on the floor with him choking her.  She manages to bite him on the nose and it hurts and shocks him so that she wangles him into the cell and locks him with the passkeys she and Estela stole (during the part that was edited and left on the cutting room floor, no doubt).  We note now that she and Estela are dressed in nurses’ uniforms now also.  She refuses to shoot him as he so richly deserves.  Naw, she says, she is NOT like Mi Coronel, she tells him.  He howls at her to do it and she runs off.
Outside, DEADave hides while Arley chats up the guards and breathes easy when they finally go away.
Stela has the baby and is looking for her daughter.  Finally she and Yoli meet up again during the Crooked Guard Gal’s speech.  Yoli takes the baby just as Monica turns around and sees them chatting – why didn’t they just head off and keep mum, Mom?  Moni screams to the guards that those two are not really nurses and they must flee.  Estela turns to stop and reason with Moni.  Braids, aka Johana, has the shiv and sneaks up behind Moni, but Estela has pushed her out of the way and Johana isn’t able to stop her momentum.  The shiv gets Estela in the gut instead.  A riot ensues.
Zulima takes advantage of the situation and follows Yoli on a hunch.  She picks up the gun after Yoli has accidentally dropped it.  When Yoli turns around to go back for it, Zuli’s there pointing the thing at her and threatens the baby and her.  “--You aren’t getting rid of me that easily.  You’re taking me with you.”  Dave and Arley run into the two of them and he backs off due to the baby threat.  The guys are forced to hide the three in the back of the delivery van with her gun on Yoli and Mini-Mena, during which time, Zuli doesn’t mince words about what a piece of garbage Yoli is and demanding a get-away car at the meet up.  “—How many people have all died because of you!”  (Excuse me, but again it is the socio-pathetic kettle calling the pot black; and I do hope somehow this bitch-witch finally sees herself in the mirror and recognizes who is looking back at her from it.)
Back at the prison, Moni advises the warden that it was Yolanda Cadena and her mama dressed up as nurses, and Yolanda who just escaped.
The Gone Gals are waiting in the van for the others and learn Zulima’s got a gun on Yoli and the baby.  She gets her way and then gets away.
A bit later Wilmer and Raul drive up for the others at a warehouse.  “--Where’s Estela?”  Well, Estela is bleeding out on a clinic table in the prison, watching her life go past and remembering all the rotten things she did to Yoli growing up—especially denying and turning a blind eye to Unky Pervert’s raping her.  As she heads off to the great blue yonder, or the towering inferno at the opposite end of things, she asks her daughter for forgiveness.

In the rec hall, Crooked Guard Gal confirms Moni’s declaration to the warden and adds that Zulima Montes is also missing along with the baby.  He wants a full explanation.  She tells him what she knows and what just happened.  Just then they hear on the walkie-talkie that there’s a man locked in a cell on one of the blocks and Moni heads off with the warden and the CGG.
Yoli tells what happened to her when S&M caught up with her in the cell.  At the same time, S&M is lying about being only a simple electrician locked up by a crazy woman.  CGG agrees and backs up his tall tale.  They are about to unlock the cell door but Moni races up and confirms what she thought.  “—That’s no electrician!  That’s Col. Santa Maria who’s been wanted by the police and Interpol!!  Make a phone call if you don’t believe me!!  Do it!”  The warden does and S&M is soon S.O.L.
Mongoose Mug and Sinesterra are driving in the limo and on the way, he tells the PE that Arley and the Gone Gals were planning to break out Yolanda Cadena so she could once again work with them all….or something.  There was a jailbreak for her and the mama and the baby.  Not exactly a coinkydink, he tells the PE.
At the rancho, Sonia and John are watching a news report stating that Sinesterra is to take office in a half hour or so and is on the way.  She tells John the man turns her stomach.  He tells her all politicians are crooked like him.  She says something about the Cartel and having to meet with him again and she’s not happy.  Just then Vaquero comes in with news that S&M is now in prison while Yoli escaped.  Hmmm.  Sonia’s worried he’s so demented that he can’t be trusted and will probably spill the beans on the two of them and the cartel/cupola.  John thinks not.

Meanwhile, Raul puts a wire on Yoli in a last ditch effort to get Sinesterra to give himself away before he is put into office, in which case, it would be like pulling teeth to get him out of office.  Moni calls Dave and informs him that Estela has died while taking a shiv in the gut from Braids in an attempt to save Moni’s life.  Her last words were for Yoli asking for forgiveness.  Dave decides to keep the news to himself till after the operation’s done.
=======================
Parte 2~~
Dave heads to the Federal Building for the post shakedown take down.  The others head back to the warehouse/basement garage at the PE’s manse to record Yoli’s convo with Sinesterra via Wilmer’s computer setup.
Yoli flags down the car on the way to the official inauguration ceremony in his offices.  She tells him she escaped and again wants to work for him.  She reminds him what a great job she and her people have always done for him and she’s hoping he won’t leave her out in the street to beg for a living.  He tells her they cannot be seen together and they’ll have to talk later, but after she wheedles and cajoles a bit, he admits she and her posse always have gotten good results and done a good job for him and yes she can have her old job back. Wilmer listens and then Raul gives his ex-federale seal of approval on the taped conversation.
About then, Mongoose Mug and his posse bring Yoli back and they lie about their activity time.  The goons believe the story and why not?
Dave gives the recording of it on his cell to Fajardo who passes it along with Dave’s request for political asylum in the U.S. for Yolanda and her entire posse.
That night, Arley and Rosalba discuss the fact that he cannot take care of a kid on his own.  Rosie agrees to take care of the child for him no matter what.
Just as Sinesterra is about to get inaugurated, Benevides and Fajardo and a bunch of police/DEA guys stop the proceedings and walk him off to the  Slammer Presidential Suite in the D.F. for the evening instead. They tell Sinesterra to stuff it for now; and, since there’s a taped recording of him discussing the cartel, stop talking and start walking.
Down in the garage, Yoli and gang are chatting as Dave comes in.  She reads the information on the formal letter: she and all of them there are to get political asylum in the U.S.  They are all free as a bird.   However, Yoli and Rosalba have also to get the word on Estela.  Rosalba goes to identify her sister at the prison.  She had her faults, but she was family.  The warden then asks Rose about Yoli.  Rosalba tells him she has no idea what he’s talking about.

Sonia and John watch as Sinesterra’s taken down and it’s streaming on the computer.  They have a trago to celebrate their good fortune.  Just then who should come wandering in like a stray whining female-hound off the streets, but Zuli.  John is amazed and Sonia is pissed.  How did she ever manage to escape?  Give her a trago too and she’ll tell you…..  John agrees and has Vaquero get her a double.  “—I don’t want you to think that I don’t care about you.”

Thanks Jardinera. We are kinda winding down, but this is usually some of the most satisfying in a TN like this one.
Here it is where the bad guys get killed or tortured, like in a normal TN it is where the fellow and girl finally tell each other they Luuuurrrve each other and get married.

So Estela is alive long enough to remember what a shithead she has been all her life, and then dies. Oh how do I NOT love thee daughter, let me count the ways --- I screwed up your life and how many times you forgave me.. Good riddance. At least she died knowing in her heart that she was a despicable, worthless human and even less of a Mother.

Based on Yoli's daring encounter with Sinister, he goes to jail, and everyone gets a “Get out of Jail” card? Did this include Mena? I hopeo so. It was a real tear jerker when he held Mena Jr. and told him he deserved better than himself as a Daddy. I hopeo that didn't mean Mena was going back to prison. So Rosalba signs up at her age to raise Mena Jr? Whatever. I hopeo she has her Social Security checks direct deposited. If the fruit really does not fall far from the tree Mena Jr. would otherwise be stealing her checks by the time he is twelve.

A recording set up by the people who want to get out of jail carries enough weight to put Sinister in jail and get them out of jai,l when a video did not do the trick? Yowzers. Well, we have to wrap this up somehow.

Will we see S&M again to say farewell Monday night? Was he not crucial to John and Sonia's (well John's) plan to kill off the competition at the 'bury the hatchet' peace treaty? Is Yoli going to be able to walk away from SM without trying to get some revenge? Will we soon see her strutting her famous backside in a t-back on SoBe along with Oli and Liz?

We still need to see what happens to Zooli and John and Sonia. Sonia should be sharp enough to realize that Zooli is a danger to everyone, especially HER Counsulness.

Note: Does every stolen vehicle come with a full tank of gas? How far is it from Mexico city to Tres Fuegos?

Kirby: Great points and LOL at: Note: Does every stolen vehicle come with a full tank of gas? How far is it from Mexico city to Tres Fuegos?

Thanks again Jardinera. I wondered where Yoli got the key to lock up Her Colonel. And I ddin't see Zoo maggot pick up the gun, so thanks.

Thanks Jadinera. Kirby, I was also amazed that a brief recording is enough to bring down the president. I expected more drama such as purchasing another helicopter but as you mentioned we are winding down. I also wonder what is going to happen to Zuli. Maybe she will knock off Sonia so she can get John back. I guess we'll find out in the finale.

Kirby: S&M is likely to plot one final epic bloodbath tonight.

But sheezo Steve, what can he do in jail and they are on to him? Yeah he can plot all he wants, but hopeofully now that is as far as it goes. He is running out of helpers.

Thanks so much Jardinera!!!!!

Kirby your questions are hilarious and on point! That video Oscar made was so much more damning than that silly audio recording. I mean did Yolanda even identify herself in it? Otherwise he could say he was speaking to his house cleaner he just fired.

If that is the last we see of SM I will be disappointed. I sooo wanted him to be tortured more but it looks like that isn't going to happen.

I want Zuli to be tortured too and again that doesn't look like its going to happen.

I can't see Arley surviving so I think he may go after Zuli to get revenge on Amanda's death. He kills her and John or John's thugs kill Arley.

If Sin is in jail does John still need the big meeting?

I wish tonight's episode was a 2hr but according to my dvr it is only a 1hr finale.

Hi all: Yep, it looks like a 1 hr fin and tomorrow the new version of Rosy Tejeras starts in this timeslot. I may or may not watch that but I am taking a needed break from recapping for a bit unless something moves me.

I hope S&M loses what's left of his sanity while imprisoned, if nothing else. He can howl to the moon IMO till Kingdom come. It will drive him crazy being in a puny little cell, but he can command the other prisoners and play Col. with them, too. Zuli has got to have a truly just come-uppance and I haven't a clue. Could be some Inferno type of eternal Hell punishment where her second best looks and bedtricks are mocked constantly or she gets killed in the same way she had Zecki's family done in--and let it also be after begging for days and wondering and imagining her fate. Hmm. A hit and run is just too easy for Arley to avenge Amanda's death with.

===

O/T: Anyway, although it has been fun, I will be unavailable to recap till mid-August. I guess I'll have to make do with something that's on a while after that. I will continue telenovela watching to keep up the ear so to speak and hopefully something of quality like La Reina del Sur may come along--those are so far and few between.... Has Telemundo had anything like that recently? The druggelas they otherwise have shown are too disgusting or patently low-common-denomenator that I rarely turn the channel. Ideas anyone?

Jardinera, it has been a pleasure! You definitely deserve a break. I don't know how you recappers do it.

I don't wanna watch another narco show so will pass on this next one. Since I'm not watching anything else I guess I will be taking a break too. I wasn't able to keep up with La Candidata and I'm not sure if it is too late to join that one. I wish a good comedy would come along or something like MCET--but that was good because of FS and SN.

Zuli being disfigured would be good punishment and I like the idea of SM being kept in a puny cell to go mad in.

Jardinera, thanks for your witty recaps and enjoy your break. I have started to watch La Candidata on Unimas and think it is excellent.

Was so disappointed with zuli tagging along... so hopefully its because she is about to get a major beat down from yoli...mena...or both. Mi col and zuli do not deserve a quick death.

An hour to tie things up is not enuf but it is what it is.

Thanks to the recappers for such a great job and heavy lift. Even when i didnt watch it didnt feel like it after reading your recaps.

This was a fun one for much of the ride. The upcomjng TN in this timeslot doesnt seem apoealing so far but we will see

Nett

Bravo, Jardinera! I can't thank you and Alfredo enough for teaming up to cover La Pilota. It's been much fun receiving your recaps, not to mention essential for keeping up with the plot. May you have a great summer break.

If this is the last of Col. S&M, I'm fine with that. He's so arrogant, full of self-importance that going down as "Mexico's Dumbest Criminal!" who broke “into” prison is fitting. I hope they televise his downfall again and again.

Arley and Rosalba were touching. At least he knows he's not fit to raise the kid. Hey, Arley, don't saddle the kid with your name either.

My biggest wish is for John to realize what an idiot he's been, that it was Zuli all along who betrayed him from the start, not Zeki, and that Sonia is nice but she’s no Yoli and he blew it. Then he can meet his doom. I'd like to see how Raul and Lizbeth rebuild their lives. I'm assuming DEADave and Yoli sail off together.

Carvivlie: Zulima will likely plot another epic bloodbath against Yoli & the Good Guys one final time too.

Niecie: I do NOT see the Colombian Consul-General coming out of this chaos unscathed since the DEA is about to launch a raid based on the previews from Friday.

Kirby: Whatever happened to Gonzalez (Sinisterria's #1 bodyguard) ?
