HALIMACANDY: You seem to have deep hostility towards Rosie Rivera Flores (Jenni's sister) & Chiquis (Jenni's eldest daughter).

I got distracted by some computer issues last week, but at least I was able to keep up with the slowly-increasingly-bonkers

El Señor de los Cielos:

Okay. So at this point we have five major plotlines going on:

1. Aurelio vs. Victor, now complete with Victor apparently going full Los Zetas (or Maras, I think, in the narcoverse--see also Skinny) and kidnapping teenagers to pad out his forces on top of the prostitutes. This is some messed-up stuff, even by narcoverse rules, but it does serve to further separate Victor as the so-called "new generation" of anything-goes druglords...but it also makes him look worse than Aurelio, which is kind of saying something at this point, since he's basically a narco Kylo Ren right now.

Flip side, since we've had Alba and Monica and Rutila--in wildly different ways--all declare that for all intents they're hellbent on destroying one another, this is still basically progression. Felina is now on the sidelines thanks to Aurelio arranging her escape from prison (and through a series of coincidences effectively taking out one of her enemies), Tijeras is still MIA (presumably in prison), and with Emiliana and Lourdes Contreras dead (and let's be honest: Aurelio strangling Emi after banging her against a tree was a full-on Santa Diabla moment, and perhaps the most sociopathic thing he's done so far this season) Victor really is the last villain standing right now. Which means he's almost certainly doomed. It's just a matter of when.

2. Esperanza's story, which seems to be taking a sort of detour. Now that she's ensconced in Colorado as "Martha Alarcon," instead of contacting Salazar so he can do whatever the fork he was planning to do, she's got a job at a school with a bitchy anti-immigrant boss and hooking up with a cute girl named Zoe who works at the yeah-the-name-was-too-good-to-pass-up Weed Zone. If nothing else, her trying to outsex Aurelio is almost too consistent for her...and it may well be what trips her up somehow.

Since this also includes Aurelio now being virtually broke, another sidebar is his trying to get money from various means--he borrowed $3M from Rutila, and I got the impression that his "reward" from semi-accidentally helping Felina out was going to pay Super Javi for his investment in Javi's mining operation.

The real detour, though, is in the form of her bickering parents Juan Carlos and Pina. In trying to track down their now-missing daughter they've gone to Salazar's former embassy secretary Arelis and in turn to Bizarro Pena Nieto--whom Juan Carlos has accused of covering up various misdeeds (the 34 dead students from S3 have been mentioned by various folks now, IIRC). I'm still having a hard time caring about these two in general, but they're becoming more important to another plotline:

3. Team Rivero vs. Bizarro Pena Nieto vs. the Scandal Monster. Okay, so BPN managed to beat a hasty retreat from Cancun after Jaime Rosales knocked that one call girl over his balcony...but not before someone texted Bizarro Gaviota pictures of him with his "gifts." (I'm fuzzy on whether it went further than that.) So she got to go off on him about that, declaring that she's now the butt of everyone's jokes--but didn't get to slap him, because of course that makes sense. Then he gets forced to use his personal security team to meet Monica at an airfield and basically play security for a coke shipment she brought with her from Colombia (on the other hand, he got to neck with her for a hot minute and we're going to do our damnedest to forget that these cousins have done a lot more than kiss).

El Señor de los Cielos (2):

And on top of all that, thanks to both the late Cristina Salgado's interview and research on Garcia's part, Team Rivero (which now includes a new military officer, Rafael Castillo, who is decidedly more anti-Rutila than Rivero is; this has been turning Garcia on just a touch) is looking into the meth operation that Monica, Rutila, and indirectly BPN ran a while back. As much as the show and BPN have been making the point about him not wanting to be involved in any sort of scandal on top of all the political crap going on, this is probably the biggest thing the show has telegraphed to this point.

4. Monica's cartel of one (not including Work Hubby Ramon). Monica's one of the few remaining original characters, possibly the most complicated next to Aurelio himself, and as much as her fork-alla-y'all attitude makes perfect sense she's still ultimately a sort of secondary charater now off on the sidelines doing her thing. She struck a deal with a Colombian paramilitary narco for supply, she's admittedly picked up Super Javi as an occasional ally and counselor...and that's really about it right now, minus the meth thing being revisited. At least I'm not worried about the show taking her out...or at least not now, anyway.

5. Super Javi. He's friends with everybody at this point, save Victor, but he's just as ruthless as any other narco we've seen (even though the show literally skipped over it, which is still weird to me, he bombed a police facility to cover Felina and Pilar's escape from custody); he's got an entirely new operation of his own not related to drugs at all, though he still keeps his connections handy; and he knows where most of the skeletons are buried. I've been wondering for a couple of weeks now if he's somehow being set up as a total wild card, or possibly as the new Tijeras--his cockroach survival quotient isn't nearly as strong, but nobody else's is either--and possibly the last narco standing, because I'll be shocked if Aurelio survives this crazy-ass show.

6. Okay, and there's Pilar's hilariously extra thirst for Aurelio. Sure, she's got an ironclad excuse in being in a women's prison for however long, but she's literally been shooting do-me eyes at him ever since they first met. Aurelio, who blew her off twice before, finally said last week that he would "collect her debt" at some point for getting her out of prison. Since the list of women Aurelio has banged that ended up dead or in jail keeps on getting longer, I'm not liking Pilar's chances after she finally reaches the promised land...

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS"

Bill C: I was NOT shocked Emiliana got whacked, but DAMN! Aurelio bashing her head open like that ? He's the anti-hero for a reason!

1.) Jaime (BPN's new Chief of Staff) AKA Doug Stamper whacked one of the prostitutes was not that shocking either. She was a liability that cannot be allowed to talk.

2.) Bizzaro Gaviota trying to get her SWAGGER back ? ROFLOL. You KNEW what you were getting yourself into when you married BPN.

3.) Will BPN get Aurelio to whack Rivero IF Rivero keeps digging for damaging information on BPN's drug laundering activities ?
