Enamorandome de Ramon #11, 8.22.17: Fabiola defends Ramon, and Uses her Secret Weapon
Repeated scene (just because I
like to see a good landing): Ramon lands a good right punch on Francisco
(Pancho) after he said that he is able to be friends with anyone including his colleagues
as well as the “Maid’s” son.
Fabiola is shocked and jumps in
front of Pancho to yell at Ramon. Ramon sates that he did it because of the way
Pancho belittled him. Pancho tells him things will not end here. Ramon tells
him go ahead have me fired, he then tells Dalia it’s time to leave, and they
leave.
Outside the shop Dalia tells
Ramon that Pancho deserved that and more, but she doesn’t want him to lose his
job. Ramon could care less; he can always find another job.
Fabiola tells Pancho that she
does not agree with Ramon Punching Ponch but Pancho did insult Ramon with the
things he said. Pancho tells her to fire
Ramon, but she can’t her uncle is in charge.
Jorge chides Osvaldo for not even
calling to see how their mother was. Osvaldo lies and says that he was helping “Andres”
with math all night. Jorge informs him that their mom will be hospitalized for
the rest of the day if he cares to know.
Roxana reads a story to Diego and
then puts him to sleep. Smiles and leaves him. She gets a call from Antonio, he
wants to take them to dinner but Diego is asleep, so he will come over for
dinner. Roxana doesn’t want him to and says she’s already going to sleep.
Antonio is disappointed but agrees and hangs up.
Jorge with Andrea tells her how
his mom is doing, then invites her to watch a movie, Andrea says no because she
has homework, he offers to help but she again shakes head “no”. He says that he
feels like she is just trying to cut him off. He then says he gets it and
leaves. Andrea thinks that it’s better this way.
Jorge gets home Luisa thought he
was going to stay at his cousin’s hose. Anyway she left dinner and she is
leaven because she is tired. Jorge is sad and wonders what’s wrong with Andrea.
The real reason why Roxana turned
Antonio away gets to her house. Agustin brings wine that she has been craving,
and they begin to kiss because he has been craving something else (wink, wink)
At Fabiola’s she arrives home with
the punched Pancho and Juana sees the bruise on his face and asks what happened.
Pancho says it was her son and is about to tell his version but Juana says she
will ask Ramon and leaves. Andrea is there and asks what happened, Pancho tells
his version which does not include the part about insulting Ramon so Fabi
reminds him about the parts he omitted. Pancho becomes upset because it appears
that Fabi is taking Ramon’s side.
Juana finds Luisa and tells her
she is going to go ask Ramon his version of the events so they leave.
At Luisa’s Dalia is still
cheering Ramon on about the punch, Ramon regrets taking the job because it’s
just causing problems. Dalia does not agree with this statement.
At hospital Julio chides Osvaldo
for not being at his mother’s side until now. Osvaldo says that he thought I was
the usual “crisis” so he paid no attention then he asks Julio “where were you?”
Julio was working of course so he turned phone off. In that case Osvaldo was “studying”. Julio
reprimands Osvaldo and tells him not to talk to him that way.
At Luisa’s Ramon is cooking and
asks Dalia for the salt, she is more than happy to bring it over, and puts her
arm around him as she helps him pour the salt, Ramon senses that there is
something strange about this, but at that moment Juana and Luisa walk in. They
noticed the awkward way that Dalia was hugging Ramon as well but say
nothing. Juana wants Ramon’s side of the
story. He tells her the truth but Juana fears he is going to lose his job.
Dalia will help by telling his side of the story. Ramon says no need because he
is going to quit.
The next morning Margarita runs
into Virginia who is getting home from the hospital with Julio and Osvaldo. Julio
tells Osvaldo to take Virginia to their apartment; he wants to talk to
Margarita about the legal procedure to verify the signatures on the insurance
policy. Margarita confirms that a judge has granted the order to proceed. Julio
not happy about this.
On bus Dalia tries to convince
Ramon not to quit, but Ramon has made up his mind, and he will quit.
At the bus stop Benito runs into
Juana and Luisa, they get on bus and he pays for them because after all he is a
“gentleman”. They go sit down and Benito manages to sit between Juana and
Luisa. He takes his shoe off and begins to touch Luisa’s leg with his foot,
making Luisa “hot”. The bus driver jams on the breaks, making someone kick
Benito’s shoe out of his reach, and out of sight. (LOL)
At the shop Rulo is waiting for
his new conquest with a rose. He gives Fabi the rose and invites her to go have
tacos. Fabi turns him down because she is engaged to be married and she does
not want anyone to misunderstand. She leaves, and Rulo wonders if the cookies
don’t work on engaged girls (man oh man this guy is daft)
Back on bus Benito begins looking
for his shoe, he gets on all four and begins crawling around the bus, someone
getting off the bus ends up kicking his shoe off the bus so he gets off to go
retrieve it and bus takes off leaving him behind.
At the shop Antonio is happy to
see Fabiola is there early and well informed about the shop’s business, he asks
if everything is fine and yes “everything is fine” (as her nose grows)
Ramon arrives and tells Lucho he
is going to go talk to Antonio before he gets there he runs into Fabiola, he
tells her he is quitting, she asks him not to leave. Ramon wonders why she is
interested in him not quitting, well good mechanics are hard to find (she says
it with a flirty smile – which as we learn soon Ramon really likes) He accepts
to stay, but only because she asked. He thanks her for the support and for the
smile. So she gives it to him one more time.
Jorge sees Andrea at school and
asks why she did not wait for him to come together. She does not answer; Sarah
is there and tells her that she needs to answer because he looks upset. Andrea
still does not answer. So Jorge leaves upset.
Dalia is so happy that Ramon is
not quitting so she throws herself at him, Fabi sees this spectacle and gets
jealous walks away. Rulo also sees and Lucho adds salt to the wound and tells
him it looks like he has lost Dalia to Ramon.
Fabi in the office now wonders
why she is feeling upset. Dalia walks in and calls her “little boss”, and
thanks her for not firing Ramon. Fabi tells her not to call her that and also
tells Dalia to limit her display of affection in the shop. Hope this is the
last time. Dalia says she will watch it. When Fabi leaves Dalia thinks that she
now knows why Fabi did not fire Ramon. It’s because she also likes Ramon. Dalia
not pleased about the competition.
At the shop Ramon sees Fabi asks
her to please tell her uncle that he is done with the car he wanted him to look
at. Fabi replies that he needs to tell him, she says it rudely so now Ramon
wonders what is wrong now, and says he can’t understand Fabi.
Julio comes to Fabi’s apartment
and sees Juana tells her to thank Ramon for being there for Virginia. Julio
takes this opportunity to sweet talk Juana to get on her good side (we all know
why) he even touches her shoulder making Juana very uncomfortable.
Juana when Julio leaves goes talk
to her parrot and wonders what Julio is up to sweet talking her and touching
her. She will keep her distance because she knows something is up.
Fabi is thinking back about Ramon
and she wonders why she feels jealous, she should not because she loves her fiancé.
Andrea gets home and tells Juana
she is going to sleep and wants no calls from anyone even Jorge.
At restaurant Dalia tells Ramon
she does not understand why Fabiola is jealous, but Ramon agrees that Dalia is
too impulsive, and they are at a workplace after all so she needs to cool it.
He says he does love her like a sister. (You can actually hear her heart break at that
point)
Fabi goes to see Pancho at the
hospital and wants to fix things with him because she loves him, he plays the
victim for a bit but forgives her, she asks to go out tonight, but he can’t
because he is busy at the hospital tonight (Really?)
Jorge goes to see Andrea but
Juana says she is sleeping, disappointed he leaves but asks Juana to please ask
Andrea to call him. Leaves her a small present (chocolate)
At shop Ramon meets Diego and
offers to teach him to be a mechanic. Gabi gets there and Diego tells her about
Ramon teaching him, Fabi says he will have a very good teacher then flashes
that smile that Ramon likes so much, and the green monster attacks Dalia. They
both walk away with Ramon staring at Fabi and Fabi looks back gives him a
little more of that smile.
Juana gives Andrea her chocolate
and tells her to call Jorge, Andrea pushes the chocolate aside. Fabi gets home
and gives Juana the good news about Ramon not quitting.
At Luisa’s Dalia is crying about
Ramon’s brotherly love and thinks she will make him love her another way.
Fabi tells Juana how she
convinced Ramon not to quit (nice pat on the back for Fabi)
Ramon calls Fabi’s house looking
for Juana, but asks Fabi how she is since she picked up phone, Dalia overhears
the conversation and the little green monster rears its ugly head again, so she
goes to her room (Luisa notices this reaction) as Ramon asks for Juana. Juana
gets on the phone and Andrea takes the opportunity to let Fabi know that she
can see she likes Ramon. Fabi denies it she is engaged after all right? As
Ramon talks to Juana, she notices that Ramon keeps mentioning how awesome Fabi
is, and how cool she is and how this and how that so Juana is not daft and
tells him to make sure he is not falling for Fabi because they are too
different, oil and water don’t mix after all. Oh no not even says Ramon.
At the same time Luisa goes to
Dalia’s room and tells her that she notices that she is falling for Ramon, and
she better stop because he does not see her like that. Dalia says that he is a
good man, and does she not want her with a good man. Luisa says what about
Rulo, he likes you. With him nope, no way, no how. Luisa says to look for another but not Ramon,
the first hint she gets that something is up she is asking Ramon to leave.
Juana tells Fabi the same thing
she told Ramon, they are too different and make sure she is not falling for Ramon, what no! No way,
no how, what are you talking about. Well Juana is just mentioning it just in
case. Stay away from that mess.
At hospital the blond that Pancho
will be “busy” with shows up and they kiss and agree they are spending all
night together. (Pig, pig, pig)
Next morning Fabi is walking over
to where Ramon is checking a car, she gets that smile ready but trips and
falls, Ramon runs to her rescue lifts her up an carries her in his arms (my
hero) and then they catch each other’s eyes and cupid prepares his arrow.

"cupid prepares his arrow" was my favorite line of many.
While I felt for Dalia, I had hoped she would have a good cry and let out her heartache, but ultimately accept Ramon does not and will not love her the way she wants. (you can actually hear her heart break at that point) was very true.
We might wish to have it all but it's not truly possible. Something Roxana surely will not accept. There is no comparison between Augustin and Antonio. Augustin is a burger, Antonio is prime rib. Roxana seems destined to lose both, as well she should. She is being unfair to both and lying is becoming secondary nature "The real reason Roxana turned Antonio away gets to her house". Sigh.
The writers are building a slow, mutual attraction between Ramon and Fabiola, which is nice if not rather the usual meet, fight despite obvious attration, and then take it from there. I thought Ramon's fiery chemistry with Sofia was so romantic! That said, if anyone can make the usual mundane storyline believable, it's Esmerelda, who is breathtakingly lovely and not only has a great smile, but is a very pretty crier.
No love potions are working for Rulo, are they? The cookie crumbled and (fortunately) nothing came of it. I still have high hopes for him - that he and Dalia will get together without the aid of any elixirs or potions. (I like him and the fact he is Esmerela's real life love doesn't hurt).
I was relieved Juana is wise to Julio.
So, is Andrea turning Jorge away because they are cousins and she is starting to feel something else?

I suppose they were disappointed that a Gringo show stole the real name "Everybody Loves Ramon". Hell even I could have given him a hug after he took Puncho down a notch. I'm still mad at Puncho after what he did to Maia and Herminio in Despertar Contigo.
This is a pretty nice change for a tail wagger like me, as there are several lovely honies to fall for rather than one with major defects. But I still don't see what they all see in tattoo boy and Dr. Shaganurse.

Rgv Chick, I'm glad you thought the same thing I did about why Andrea is keeping her distance from Jorge. Virigina and Julio don't exactly seem to be the kindest characters here so it's a bit difficult to believe they would adopt a child. Is that unfair? It just doesn't seem to be keeping in character. Is there any other loophole that would allow these two to be together?
I wonder if Juana will be able to keep her lips to herself. Julio is hawt and once he turns on that charm, well...

When Ramon agreed to stay, only because she is asking, Fabiola extended her hand for a handshake, Ramon took it. At that moment, Antonio came out from his office and Fabiola promptly removed her hand from Ramon's, as if not wanting anyone to see the connection.
When Ramon complimented her smile, it touched her. She didn't expect it. She kept standing, smiling, without saying anything, watching him leave. And I think Dalia broke that enchantment when Fabiola saw her hugging Ramon, and it caused her small fit of jealousy.
A little later, Fabiola said that Ramon will be the best teacher for Diego, returning a compliment, with that smile that he likes so much, as Sandie noted.
At the end of the day, when Ramon called, Fabiola answered with her normal voice. When she heard it is Ramon, her voice became soft and sweet. No wonder Andrea noticed something.
Finally, next morning, walking to work Fabiola saw a shirtless Ramon, could not take her eyes off him, was not watching where she was walking and stepped into a pothole. Which lead to Ramon taking her in his arms an carrying her. "And then they catch each other’s eyes and cupid prepares his arrow" - excellent Sandie.

I knew it, I knew it! Francisco is an unfaithful SOB. I was not surprised to see him and the blonde nurse making plans for the evening.

Susanlynn: I was thinking the same thing about Andrea, but it must be so difficult to portray her role. Her gestures have to be exaggerated, in order to convey her emotions and for the viewing audience to understand her. They have given her the ability to speak when she thinks so that makes it easier for us to follow her way of thinking.
Man...when ole Ramon scooped Fabi up and their eyes locked like heat seeking missiles it would have been a good time to just go ahead and plant one on him and figure out an excuse later. She can tell herself that she has a wonderful (cheating) boyfriend that she Luuuurves sooo much only so long. And you gotta love a man who can fix things.
I must admit there is still a little caveman in all of us. It just wouldn't be the same with Luisa picking up Ryan like that.

Susy, Thanks, glad to brighten up a day. No I go on the water occasionally, but many of these are wading birds, which find their food while standing on the bottom, so I catch many of them from the shore.

I'm in the minority. I think that Ramon and Fab are moving too quickly. They are all goo goo eyes for each other too soon. I would like them to have become friends and then turn into attraction.
Julio is turning on the charm. Glad Juana caught it but can she control herself? Has she been with anyone since Ramon's father? Doesn't seem like it.
I'm torn between whether I want Jorge to be a blood cousin or not. I don't want him to be so that it isn't creepy between him and Andrea. But if he is, then it means the casting directors used color blind casting and I'm always a fan of that.
