Caray, Caray!

Memories are in italics. 

Hortensia chides Juana for even comparing Ricardo with Ramon, especially because Ricardo will never come back, but Juana reminds her that taking away her son will not bring back hers. Either way, she’s done trying to reason with her. Hortensia thinks it’s good she has learned her lesson and hopes Juana stops being so stubborn in the future. Juana hopes she never needs compassion from anyone in the future and leaves. Once they’ve closed the door, Margarita chides Hortensia for her actions and tells her, while she may not be lying, she has been trying to destroy Juana for some time and now Ramon will pay the price. Hortensia tells her that Juana needs to know who’s boss and Margarita congratulates her because Juana will go back to Fabiola and Andrea and tell her the “kind and human” person she is. She hopes Hortensia doesn’t regret her actions but she better not be surprised if her granddaughters see her on the street, in need of help, and don’t even bother looking her way.


Juana arrives home, in tears, and tells the Medina sisters what happened. They hug her and Fabiola asks Pedro if they should go reason with her. Pedro shakes his head and tells them their only hope is to prove Hortensia is lying, about everything, but Ramon will have to stay in jail until then.

Dalia tells Luisa that the lawyer has agreed to take her case and he even offered to take Dalia to dinner since they’ve been at the station so long. Luisa asks her to be careful, as no one gives anything for free. Her phone rings then and Juana tells her what happened with Hortensia. Juana explains that she begged and pleaded but her pleas fell on deaf ears. Luisa curses Hortensia and wonders why justice is so blind. She offers to go and reason with Hortensia but Juana thinks it will only make things worse. Luisa agrees and asks if she should tell Ramon that he will remain in jail for the time being. Juana tells her no as she is on her way and hangs up.

Juana tells everyone that she is going to the station and Fabiola offers to go with her when the doorbell rings. It’s Margarita and Hortensia, who gets a good scolding from Fabiola, who has come to offer a deal: if she leaves the apartment forever, she will remove the complaint against Ramon.

In his cell, Ramon remembers when Juana left him with his grandmother because Juana had to work and couldn’t take care of him. She promises to come visit as often as possible and asks that he close his eyes, and think of her, should he ever feel lonely. She hugs him tightly one final time. He then remembers when he graduated, and was supposed to be happy, but she had to work instead of going to his graduation. His grandmother reminded him that life is full of sacrifices and his mother had to work to make sure he did something with his life. He tells himself that he can’t reproach his mother for anything as she sacrificed everything for him.

Hortensia explains that Juana reminded her what it feels like to lose a child and she was able to sympathize with her situation. Fabiola argues that she should let Juana stay with them and let Ramon go but Hortensia refuses to forget what Ramon did to her. Fabiola screams that he did nothing but Hortensia thinks it’s more than fair. Fabiola and Jorge remind her that they aren’t puppets she can control but Hortensia chides Jorge for getting in her business. He goes to sit with Andrea and, after a moment, Juana decides to accept and goes to pack her things. After a moment, Fabiola, with tears running down her cheeks, tells Hortensia that she hates her. Hortensia is quiet.

Roxana, now in bed with Augustin, sees that he’s asleep and tries to text Virigina and asks about Antonio, but Augustin rips the phone out of her hand. He chides her for trying to contact Antonio but Roxana reminds him that she is trying to get in touch with Diego. Augustin thinks that’s an excuse but Roxana thinks that Augustin is an insecure baby and runs off.

Juana packs up her things and apologizes to Fabiola for leaving. Fabiola understands that Ramon is first and Juana reminds her that she loves them too but she has to leave them. She then asks Fabiola to take care of her parrot and Fabiola agrees before giving her a hug. She vows that Hortensia will not separate them for long and Juana cries into her shoulder.

Sometime later, Roxana returns to bed and explains that Antonio was so furious when he found out about them that he promised to take Diego away from her. She asked Virginia to keep tabs on the situation when she was Miami. Augustin wants to prove it and sends Roxana’s text; Virigina answers that she has heard nothing new but doubts Antonio has time to take Diego away after all that’s happened. He apologizes for Roxana for overreacting and gives her a kiss.

Juana, all packed, tells Hortensia that she is leaving and then asks Pedro what the next step is. He explains that Hortensia will have to withdraw her complaint and Hortensia will do so in the morning but get a restraining order, should any funny business happen in the future and she needs to order Ramon’s arrest again. She tells Juana that she doesn’t want her or Ramon close and Juana nods. Fabiola and Andrea say their goodbyes and Pedro escorts her outside. Once Juana’s left, Hortensia promises to take care of them, as Juana never could, but Fabiola, Andrea and Jorge leave in a huff. Margarita then gives Hortensia a looks but Hortensia announces that she’s won.

Outside, Pedro offers to take Pedro to Luisa’s house, as Juana told him she will stay with her, but first she will call Luisa to tell her that she will be waiting at home. He promises to go and visit Ramon first thing tomorrow and offers to help her into the car. She thanks him for all his help again.

Fabiola goes into Andrea’s room and asks if they can sleep together. Andrea obliges and Fabiola laments the fact that they are alone, especially without Juana, who has taken care of them the most since their parents’ passing. Andrea thinks that this is why they left her the insurance money and Fabiola agrees but they lost that too. Andrea tells her that she will miss Juana, a lot, and Fabiola nods before promising that Juana will come back to live with them because life can’t be this unfair. Fabiola and Andrea then cry themselves to sleep.

Later, after Juana’s settled in, she fills Dalia and Luisa on the deal she made with Hortensia. She is heartbroken over having left the Medina sisters alone but Ramon comes first. Luisa agrees, as does Dalia, who thinks it’s time to move on and forget about the Medina family. Juana considers Fabiola and Andrea her family though and she won’t forget them. Luisa doubts the girls will forgive Hortensia, especially since they lost the insurance money, but there is a God and he will make Hortensia pay. Juana nods but is sad that she won’t see the girls everything though Dalia thinks she should.

The next day, Pedro visits Ramon and tells him about the deal Juana made with Hortensia. He explains that she packed her things in front of everyone and left, will all the pain in her heart, for him. Pedro suggests he accept Hortensia’s conditions, especially after Juana’s sacrifice, and Ramon asks him what the next step is. Pedro explains that Hortensia is withdrawing her complaint now but he will have to see her. He suggests Ramon be on his best behavior, despite any offensive or rude comments she may say, and they will be home free. He then tells Ramon that Hortensia does want to file a restraining order, which means she can have him arrested again should he step out of line.

The sisters have breakfast but neither one of them wants to eat. Just then, there is a knock but they worry that it’s Hortensia though both will kick her out if it is. It’s Antonio though, who asks them why they still aren’t ready for the day. Fabiola tells him that Juana left as part of a deal with Hortensia to release Ramon from jail. Antonio is shocked and Fabiola then tells him what really happened when Hortensia hit her head and Antonio wonders if she has lost her mind. Fabiola thinks she is very sane because she planned her revenge against Juana and Ramon carefully. Antonio tells them that they can see Juana and Ramon at the mechanic shop, however many times they want, because Hortensia doesn’t rule the world, despite what she things. He then gives them both a kiss goodbye, as he has to get to the shop. Fabiola and Andrea hug, a smile on their faces.

As Julio gets dressed, Virginia reminds him that she needs the money to pay for her merchandise. Julio suggests she return it because he doesn’t have money and she shrugs and tells him she will figure it out. He thinks she should practice what she preaches and be more independence because he’s tired that everyone in the house thinks he’s a bank. He storms off as Virginia tries to understand what happened.

Hortensia withdraws her complaint with Margarita, Ramon and Pedro present. She explains that she only does so because Juana begged her too but he is still a criminal so she has put a restraining order on him. If he gets close to her or her apartment building, she will reissue her complaint against him and he will go to jail. The detective asks Ramon if he agrees and he nods before apologizing to Hortensia for any pain he caused.

Later, Ramon and Pedro walk out of the station and find Juana, Dalia and Luisa waiting for them. He runs to Juana and hugs her tight as she tells him how happy she is that their nightmare is over. He nods and tells her that he knows about her deal with Hortensia but Juana shakes her head. Ramon thinks she shouldn’t have accepted, especially because the truth would’ve come out sooner or later, but she refused to let him sit in jail another night. He hugs her again and then Juana thanks Pedro for his help. Pedro wishes he could’ve proven Hortensia was lying and then sued her for libel, just to teach her a lesson, but he’s happy that Ramon is free. Juana thinks Hortensia conscience will get the best of her eventually. At that moment, Hortensia comes out and tells Margarita that Juana looks defeated and unhappy, just as she wanted. Margarita thinks she should be assumed of her actions but Hortensia reiterates that she has done nothing wrong.

In his office, Julio worries that Virginia will check the bank accounts and see that he has withdrawing money without her knowledge. He vows to get the money she needs for her supplies, ASAP.

Fabiola is getting ready in her room when Andrea comes in and Fabiola asks if she’s not going to jail. Andrea nods and Fabiola reminds her that she will be alone all day as her phone rings. It’s Juana, who has called Fabiola to tell her the good news. Juana then passes the phone to Ramon, who thanks Fabiola for her help, as Dalia looks on. Fabiola wishes she could’ve done more but Ramon thanks her for never losing the faith though Fabiola thinks Hortensia should pay for her actions. Ramon suggests they move pass it and Fabiola asks if they will see each other in the shop as Antonio is on their side. Ramon is surprised but he will see her soon. She smiles and confesses that she’s dying to see him, as is he, and they hang up. Dalia looks extremely unhappy.

Julio calls Emilia, who chides him for not coming to the casino more often, and asks if she can loan him some money for the time being as a client hasn’t paid him. She agrees to lend it to him and they agree to meet up elsewhere to exchange the money. Susana, who has been listening in, asks whom and for what the person she was talking to needs the money but Emilia explains that it’s a friend and she doesn’t care why. Susana thinks that it’s a friend form the casino and she will never see the money again but Emilia asks her to mind her business. In fact, her money may double if her friend invests it correctly.
Just then, Osvaldo comes and Emilia tells them goodbye. Once alone, Osvaldo apologizes for not introducing her to his family but Susana wonders if he’s embarrassed. Osvaldo shakes his head and promises to introduce her to his family, soon, if it’s so important to her. Susana smiles and they hold hands as he explains what happened with the car theft.

Andrea asks Fabiola what is happening with Ramon because she’s been too emotional and sweet with him. Fabiola explains that Ramon is Juana’s son and she’s happy he’s out of jail but Andrea shakes her head. She then asks about Francisco and Fabiola is still pissed that he was jealous when he had no reason to be. Fabiola then gets up to leave and Andrea asks her to say hi to Ramon and Fabiola nods.

Osvaldo explains that his father can’t buy a new car and they can’t get any money from the theft as the insurance was expired. Susana thinks for a bit and realizes that they can invest the money Osvaldo made selling exams at the casino in the roulette table. Osvaldo agrees and she kisses him.

In the shop, Lucho tells Poncho and Chava about what happened with Ramon and Hortensia as Rulo listens in. Lucho explains that he doesn’t know why everything happened, and neither did Dalia, but Rulo wants to know if is he going to continue working with them. Lucho thinks he will, as Ramon is a great mechanic, but Rulo thinks they are overselling him. Poncho knows Rulo is just mad because Dalia preferred Ramon but Rulo shakes his head and reminds him that Ramon is just a bumpkin that knows nothing. He vows to stay with Dalia, after all is said and done, but Lucho suggests he get back to work and stop talking trash.

Ramon makes Juana, Dalia and Luisa lunch as Juana thanks him. She thinks he’s amazing to do so much after the night he had but Ramon is happy to be home. Dalia tells them that she can stay for lunch, as Antonio gave her permission, but Ramon can’t, as he has to go into work. Dalia is shocked that he would go back, especially after what Hortensia did and the restraining order, but Ramon argues that the restraining order never mentioned the shop. Juana thinks Dalia is right though and he should look for something else.

At the apartment, Andrea cooks lunch for Jorge. He is happy to be there to enjoy it with her and then asks about Juana and Ramon. Andrea tells him that they will see them at the shop or Luisa’s house. He smiles and then tells her the food may be burning; Andrea hurriedly goes to put it out.

In the lobby, Hortensia asks Margarita if she is going to the doctor with her, since she’s been having hearing problems since Ramon hit her, but Margarita can’t as she has a meeting. Hortensia asks if she can cancel it but Margarita will not and storms off. Fabiola then comes down, runs into Hortensia, but leaves without saying one word.

Ramon, who has decided to stay for lunch, tells them that he will stay working at the shop as Antonio took his side. Juana doesn’t trust him though, and reiterates that Julio told her not to as well, but Ramon doesn’t know why he did. He argues that Antonio is very nice and seems to care about him but Dalia reminds him that Hortensia will send him to jail again if he gets close to them. He asks Juana if she will stop see the sisters too but Juana reminds him he can see them without Hortensia finding out but Hortensia may visit Fabiola at the shop and catch him working there. She begs him to stop working at the shop because Hortensia will send him to jail without batting an eye.

At a café, Emilia gives Julio the check and suggests he immediately change it. He thanks her and tells her he is going to the bank immediately. He gives her a kiss on the cheek and leaves.

Roxana calls Virginia and thanks her for sending the text message last night as Augustin caught her asking about Antonio and her text placated any doubts. Virigina is happy to help and asks if she’s decided to stay with Augustin. Roxana tells her yes and Virigina asks if she’s happy. Roxana is but she gets bored as Augustin is working all day; she hopes it will get better when Diego comes after the school year is done. She will need to talk to Antonio first though and asks Virginia to help. She will but she has a lot of problems right now, especially at the store, where sales have been lose and she doesn’t have credit to pay the suppliers. She already asks Julio to check the account but Roxana asks her why she doesn’t check it personally. Virigina thinks it’s easier for Julio, since he works in finance, but Roxana thinks she’s crazy to let anyone but herself check the account. Virigina explains that she trusts Julio, and they know everything about each other, but Roxana disagrees and tells her that she’s never thought Julio is 100% honest. Virigina, tired of the conversation, hangs up on her after saying she has a client. Virigina then receives a call from Julio, who tells her he has her money and hangs up.

Francisco arrives at the shop and runs into Lucho, who tells him she is not at the shop but he is welcome to wait for her. He decides to call her and Fabiola, who is in a taxi on her way in, answers. He chides her for caring more about Ramon than him but Fabiola prefers to talk about it later because she’s going into work. Francisco tells her that he’s waiting for her at the shop and hangs up.

Jorge and Andrea try to make lunch, after the burned first attempt, but neither of them knows exactly how long to cook the packet. He goes to search it online but stops when he notices Andrea looking at him. He looks at her too, both enthralled by each other’s presence.

Antonio arrives at the shop with the piece that one of the cars was missing. He hands it to Lucho, who tells him that they know about Ramon, and Antonio explains that Ramon will be in soon. Lucho then tells him that Francisco is inside, waiting for Fabiola, and Francisco goes to greet him.

Inside the offices, Antonio greets Francisco, who explains that he’s there to find out why Fabiola was at the police station with Ramon instead of him. Antonio explains he didn’t know what happened until that morning and she’s 50% owner too. Francisco argues that she didn’t like an employer at the station. Either way, he’s just an employee and Pedro was already helping him. As Fabiola walks through the door, Antonio explains that Ramon is Juana’s son; therefore, she was there to also console and help Juana. Fabiola goes to them and thinks Francisco is extremely insensitive although he’s a doctor but Francisco is quiet. Antonio then leaves them to talk but Fabiola looks pissed.

Julio brings Virigina the money and apologizes for all he said last night and that morning. She asks him from where he got the money but Julio chides her for asking so many questions. Virigina would just like to know why he says one thing and does another but Julio is tired of her lack of trust and storms out. Virigina doesn’t seem too convinced.

Fabiola doesn’t understand why Francisco is being so harsh and explains that she was there to also show Hortensia they were on his side, as she told him last night. Francisco thinks she feels more for him than she’s saying and Fabiola nods before admitting that he is also a friend. She asks, sarcastically, if she can have friends and Francisco nods but she can’t put their needs above his like she’s been doing since Ramon showed up. Fabiola thinks he’s being stupid but Francisco chides her for not taking him seriously. He demands she admit that she is interested in Ramon but Fabiola wants to know why he doesn’t trust her anymore. Francisco does but he doesn’t trust Ramon and suggests she tell him to keep his distance. He tells her that she should stay away from Ramon, and be a good wife, but Fabiola thinks he is making a mistake in marrying her if he wants a quiet, docile wife. Francisco agrees and thinks they should break up then. Fabiola stops short and asks if he’s serious. Francisco is and so is she so they should just go their separate ways. He storms off and she follows.

Finally having made something edible, Jorge congratulates Andrea and she congratulates him. When she reaches for her iPad, to say something more, he suggests they try something else and takes out a manual to read lips. He explains that he was reading it yesterday and asks her to try but to go slowly. He can barely understand her and suggests they start with one word. She says his name and he goes into kiss her but the doorbell rings and they pull apart. Andrea goes to answer and it’s Sara, who came to visit them. Andre and Jorge look visibly annoyed as Sara looks through the manual Jorge left on the table.

Francisco runs all the way to the street as Fabiola tries to catch up with him. She finally reaches him and tells him that he’s overreacting but Francisco thinks things are clear. Fabiola reminds him that they can have fights, as a couple, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t get married. Francisco asks if she will stop seeing Ramon but Fabiola shakes her head. He thinks they have nothing to talk about then and leaves. As Francisco walks away, Ramon arrives and Fabiola smiles when she sees him. She runs to him and gives him a big bear hug before asking him to come inside so they can talk. Ramon holds her back and confesses that he came to resign from the mechanic shop…
