Monday 8/27/17 Capítulo 6 Part 1
Julieta calls her mother Catalina to find out where her brother is to get her money back. Catalina refuses to cooperate.
Robert is now in the kitchen sorting through the old garbage. (Trying to fit in better?). He wants to stay. He loves the building with the smell of bread, the hallways. He sees Blanca as only defending her son. Juliets does not see it that way at all. They never knew the Córsegas were going to hate them. They both agree that tomorrow is another day. Tomorrow arrives and when Julieta and Blanca try to talk to Blanca she tells them that all tenants are responsible for cleaning the public areas twice a month and it is their turn. Nothing else to discuss.
Marisol is still making excuses to stay with Ignacio:and tells Linda she needs the money for her daughter Frida to pay her tuition and give her the best life possible. Begoña tells Ignacio that she wants him to move in with her. Ignacio comes home and wants to talk to Marisol. He tells her that things got worse when her family got involved. He wants a divorce. If she agrees to his terms neither she nor Frida will want for anything. Begoña is his future. He is moving out. He leaves.
Belén and Amalia have a shop. Luz, Julieta's assistant, drops off catalogues from cKlass. Belén is after Amalia for eating in the store. She gets her food on the clothes.
Robert runs into Eugenio in the sauna and tries to talk to him about Blanca and his son and how she wants to kick them out. Eugenio says he does not know what he is talking about. He does not have a son. He did have one but he is dead. He will talk to Blanca.
Robert is having problems with the director of the hospital wanting to admit more children who are burn victims. Robert's foundation has not been keeping up with their payments for the children's treatment. Robert insists they cannot turn away the children. He will talk to his foundation.
Capítulo 6 Part 2
Belén, Amalia and Blanca get together and talk about problems with the new tenants. Blanca goes through the whole tale of Julieta telling Eugenio about her seeing Julián and how because of Julieta she got into it with her boyfriend. "Not married?" Amalia asks. "No! " That is another thing that bothers Blanca. Belén does not think it is good to stick one's nose in other people's business. Amalia cannot believe she is throwing them out. Blanca tells them that If they they could see how Robert treated the man who is surely her son they would understand how she would never forgive him.
Blanca walks in on Audifaz in her kitchen. She is not pleased with the surprise. He just stopped by for coffee and fruit. She tells him to put apartment 202 back on the market to rent. He says it won't be so easy to find tenants. She doesn't care. She wants the current tenants out. There is one condition for new tenants: they have to be a MARRIED couple. If there are fines to be paid, she will pay them from her savings.
Ana is concerned with Gabriel's worming his way into the family with Blanca but especially with Imelda. She witnesses him stopping by the house to bring a couple of gifts for Blanca and Imelda. Imelda is totally enchanted. He thinks about them every minute. Ana gets her driver/bodyguard (it looks like he has on a bullet proof vest ) to track him down and find out what he can. Ana is left staring at the "JP" carved on the tree. Her driver tells Ana he has found out that Gabriel is a shameless theifmthat will steal all he can. Ana meets with Gabriel and tells him she knows he is a conman and what he is up to. He says he was abandoned as a child and is not playing with anyone's feelings. She tells him he is not the real Juan Pablo. He wants to know how she can be so sure. Does she know the real Juan Pablo? Imelda calls him in the middle of the conversation to set up a meeting with him later so she can give him the money he needs for rent. Later Imelda does meet with him and does give him the money. He takes it.
Gabriel calls Daniela telling her she owes him thousands of pesos. She calls him back and they taunt each other on the phone by answering/not answering/hanging up/leaving messages all day long. He seems to be loving the game. She seems to be constantly annoyed but does agree to meet him "only" to settle the matter. When they finally meet up, Daniela is busy slapping a fly off her face and she accidentally smacks Gabriel in the process. Guess she now owes him twice as much.
I'm liking the Daniela/Gabriel interactions..."He seems to be loving the game." ITA...Gabriel is one conceited, obnoxious rascal!! When Dani told him his face was already ugly (before the incident), he told her she needed her eyes checked because he was very handsome. I don't recall the scene where they meet...was that a cut scene?
I shamefacedly admit I fell asleep and missed everything but the little Gabe and Daniela exchange at the end. So I can't contribute much to the discussion.
I can say though that I am a huge fan of your writing style. "Eugenio isn't so worried about her thinking Juan Pablo is going to appear. What really worries him is that she is going to lose her sanity and he will end up having to accept that he lost his son and his wife". Real and raw.
Part of the pain must be the choice that one must make. Is the child dead or alive.
While it is obvious he deeply grieves for Juan Pablo, Eugenio chose to believe he is dead. Whether he truly believes that or isn't quite convinced, I'm not sure. On the other hand, Blanca continues to embrace hope. Is it a mother's intuition and determination never to abandon her child or is it belief life is the reality. My heart aches for her but her unkind judgment makes it hard to really like her.
Why do they keep showing the wood/saw at Daniela's work? I'm very uneasy about that.
I'm glad Ignacio left. Marisol would not have done the same. I wish she had left with her head held high, but at least that eyesore is out of her life.
I'm really sorry to have missed this, especially Robert's new travails.
Jarifa, thank you for another stellar summary. I so appreciate it. And you!
Diana
Blanca has endured unfathomable pain, but at least she has Eugenio and the rest of her loving family. I figured this TN would center on Robert and Julieta getting to know his newfound wacky family, not a JP imposter invading the family. I hope the imposter storyline doesn’t last long.
Rgv Chick, Daniela and Gabriel first met Friday when she mistakenly threw a bag of garbage at him.
So Ana has a conscience, I think, because she doesn’t want Julián to take advantage of the family. She’s risked him blackmailing her. He can see she knows more about what happened to JP than she’s saying.
Yay, Ignacio’s left the home! He’s such a wimp. He’s only leaving because Begoña made him do it. Marisol, you dodged a bullet -- you could’ve been stuck with this imbécil for life. But I do believe she's grieving now for the life she expected to have, not so much that she lost this wonderful, loving [not!] man.
Niecie, thanks! Yes, that was very interesting how Julián immediately focused in on how Ana seemed to know more about Juan Pablo than she was admitting. I hope that the impostor story line is over soon, too.
Btw, Imelda and Julián joked again about the identifying mole in his nether regions.
Niecie,I completely agree with you about Marisol being lucky that Iggy moved out. Goodbye, good riddance. And you are right that she is actually upset about losing the life she only thought that she had with him.
Diana, I have read that when a child is lost/dies, men and when react differently. Men seem more able to shut a door and move forward from the loss, whereas women tend to weave the experience into their lives and carry it with them throughout their lives. I find this to be accurate. It doesn't mean that men cared less. They just appear to have a different coping mechanism.
Blanca seems to be having the opposite to the call of the blood with Robert, but Robert, on the other hand, seems drawn to her no matter how cranky she is to him. Odd. What does the imposter plan to do about that birthmark ??
Well, they mentioned that birthmark/mole twice in back to back episodes so I expect it to come up someway somehow maybe as comic relief because of its location and as it has been used so far.
You are so right about Robert seeming to be unconditionally attracted to Blanca. I know it will be a while but I am looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.
Ahh,"Robert, on the other hand, seems drawn to her no matter how cranky she is to him" - pure truth Susanlynn.
I do think though that Blanca was initially drawn to Robert. I think her annoyance with Julieta sort of got in the way. I remember when they first met and immediately after, Blanca had a soft, almost sweet expression when they would speak.
Jarifa, I had thought the mother/son reunion was "only a moment away" (wasn't that a Paul Simon song)? But, I guess they had to throw Julian in as a decoy. Sigh.
I suspect Julieta will not be too terribly happy to have Blanca as her MIL. I think this will be a lot of fun.
Diana
I was also wondering if the imposter was in the same orphanage as Robert.
I am having trouble keeping the characters in this the separated from those in Ramon.
Audifaz continues his conversation with Robert, He explains that Blanca’s past has been a difficult one and asks Robert to try to understand her and to try to resolve the problems they have had so they won’t have to leave the apartment so soon. Robert agrees.
Imelda tells Blanca that she gave Julián money so he could pay his debts. She is worried that they haven’t gotten the results of the DNA tests, so Blanca tells her they can go check together.
Daniela argues extensively with Gabriel. She chides him for making her come all the way across the city after working lengthy hours just so she come see his injury…and he only has a scratch that shouldn’t take so much money to treat. He tells her that the costs also include treatment for the emotional trauma he suffered. He also thinks she has destroyed his chances for becoming a model…since he is so handsome, but now that he has a scar, no one will want to hire him. During their tirade, Daniela grabs Gabriel’s keys and uses them to locate his car. When she sees it, she jumps in the driver’s side and takes off with Gabriel running after it until Daniela stops and he gets in. She drives fast and furious for a while until a dog gets in the way and she avoids it, but ends up crashing the car.
Marisol finally accepts that she doesn’t need Ignacio and can live without him. She packs Ignacio’s things and remembers a time when they were happy and he got her a CD. Later on, Frida sees Marisol crying and wonders why, so Marisol confides that she and Ignacio are getting a divorce.
Julieta confides in Robert that she does not want to turn into a replica of her mother. She fears not being a good wife and having children that she will probably not be able to make happy. Robert reassures her and tells her not to worry about that.
Ana comes to see Imelda who is still worried because they have gotten the DNA results. Ana tells her to remain calm, but Imelda is very agitated and tells Ana she doesn’t know what she and Blanca are going through because she has never had children, but Ana reminds her that she does know because she had several miscarriages.
Blanca starts cleaning the hallway as Audifaz go to talk to Robert. He rings the doorbell several times, but Julieta tells Robert that they shouldn’t answer because it’s probably Blanca who is coming to insult them some more. Julieta finally gives in and goes to answer the door as Audifaz gives up and leaves. Julieta opens the door at the same time Blanca starts to throw water on the door, so Julieta gets drenched. Blanca is super shocked and apologizes profusely, but Julieta is still furious. Robert comes out and intervenes, so Blanca leaves. Julieta is still furious and tells Robert that the water was filthy and she gulped down some of it…she needs to take a bath. When the doorbell rings, Robert goes to answer and finds Blanca who is bringing Julieta a cup of tea so she won’t get chills, but Julieta hides behind Robert and is afraid to drink it. Just then, Blanca receives a phone call about the DNA results…they are negative. Robert sees Blanca’s reaction and tries to calm her down, but she is devastated. There is a moment when they both look at each other intensely, so Robert holds her and helps her to her apartment. As they get to the apartment, Polita arrives so Blanca asks her to please finish up the cleaning, but Polita seems to have a phobia when it comes to cleaning.
Just as Blanca is trying to serve herself some lemonade, Imelda comes in and asks her what is wrong…she wonders if Blanca got the DNA results, but Blanca doesn’t know how to tell Imelda so she lies and tells her she hasn’t gotten them yet. Imelda asks Blanca to call Julián because she has been calling him to find out if he was able to pay his debts, but he doesn’t answer. Blanca calls him, but he still doesn’t answer.
Gabriel arrives to see Daniela as she is leaving for work. When she sees him, she tries to walk off but he pulls her by her backpack (twice). He finally gives Daniela the estimate for the car repair, but Daniela thinks he inflated the costs so he can buy himself a new car…there is no way she can pay him because she has no money.
Ana goes to look for Julián, but a lady tells her that Julián took all his things and left his apartment. The lady wonders if he stole money from Ana and warns Ana that Julián is dangerous.
As Blanca lays in bed with Eugenio, she is restless and gets up to go to the living room. As she gets there, Imelda also arrives and notices how distraught Blanca is so she questions her until Blanca finally admits that she got the DNA results and they were negative. Imelda starts feeling sick, so Blanca starts yelling out for Eugenio and for help. Julieta hears the yelling and wakes Robert who quickly goes to see what is wrong. As Robert goes to check on Imelda, Julieta tries to calm Blanca…even holding her and giving her a hug. In a flash, Imelda is taken to the hospital. While all the family arrives at the hospital to see Imelda, Julieta sits with Blanca who is blaming herself for Imelda getting so ill and she fears that Eugenio is will never forgive her if something happens to Imelda. Julieta tries to understand and asks Blanca what made Imelda so ill, but Blanca refuses to tell her. Blanca tells Julieta she doesn’t even have to stay there, but Julieta has to wait for Robert.
Ana is arriving at the hospital when she gets a call from Julián who is intimidating her about how she was so sure that he was not Juan Pablo…he knows that she is hiding something.
I was looking at my schedule today and since I am coming off of recapping "La candidata", I am free to get involved in something else. So, I am volunteering to do regular Monday recaps/summaries. I can also do one tonight. This one is just too much fun.
Although Blanca's behavior has been obnoxious, my heart has to go out to her. What a scene with her head on a very uncomfortable Julieta's shoulder but then still then being quite abrasive with Julieta. The bucket scene was the best!
I wonder if we will see Julián again in an extortion mode . . .
I am not interested in the Daniela\Gabe interactions. Comic relief, I know.
Iggy is lucky that Marisol just packed up his stuff instead of giving it away or setting it on fire. How much do you want to bet that he comes back at some point and wants her back? Probably after she gets a makeover and some selfconfidence. This sometimes happens.
Robert is the sweetest!
This was a full, exceptional, engaging and touching recap Rgv Chick.
My heart went out to Blanca. Not only did she get the crushing blow that Julian was not the imposter, but she had to tell Imelda, resulting in emotional and physical heartbreak. Should she give up and accept the possibility that Robert is dead? I vote no. And the reason is that sometimes, hope is all we have.
I thought the Gabriel/Daniela "courtship" might be a bit more fun and flirty, but the writers smashed that theory to bits, didn't they? :) (sorry couldn't help myself). He seems so conceited and egotistical, Daniela who stands up to him and doesn't take any guff, must be something very new to him. I wonder how they are going to work this out? Also, does he not have car insurance? :)
I smiled at Julieta getting a mini-shower. To her credit, Blanca did seem contrite and it was obviously an accident. I am enjoying the Julieta/Robert chemistry. So different and yet so well suited.
"Polita seems to have a phobia when it comes to cleaning" made me laugh - excellent line. The actress’s face was priceless.
Rgv Chick, your recap was as fresh and fragrant as your lovely avatar. Thank you!
Diana
Dan A. Is very suited for the sweet galan roles. I believe him . Type casting? Is he a honey in real life?
I do remember now that after Marisol talked to Frida, she sent a text message to Ick telling him that he needed to give Frida his explanation. He read the message and was planning to go over, but Begona talked him out of it. When he told her he had to go get his things, she told him she would buy him whatever he needed. SO we know who wears the pants in that relationship!
Susy, ITA, Julian is not finished with that family...his next target is Ana. He seems to be vary sharp and picked up on the fact that she is hiding something.
Diana, "the writers smashed that theory to bits, didn't they?" Yeah! too funny!
"Not only did she get the crushing blow that Julian was not the imposter, but she had to tell Imelda" She was so afraid of telling Imelda, she knew Imelda would not take it well, but when she first got the phone call she was very upset with herself and even more worried about telling Eugenio because she knew he had been right all along.
Am I a bad person because I am glad Julian is/will threaten Ana? I think abducting/stealing/hurting any child is pretty much an unforgiveable offense and Ana deserves what is coming to her...
Jarifa, thrilled that you will recapping this! What a treat.
Diana
Jarifa, thank you for offering to recap.
I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Julian. Somehow he'll find out the truth on Ana and blackmail her for money.
I think Iggy will come back for Marisol at some point. One, the writers are trying to show us he was a good guy at one time. Two, he seems conflicted with not going to see Frida or back to the house. Begona just wants to own him and push him around. He seems to be ambitious and thinks she is his meal ticket up. I think he'll get tired of her pretty quickly once they are together all of the time.
I liked the scene of the entire family at the hospital. I suspect we will start to see more of the Osorio kid. He really is growing up. So is Luz from MCET who plays Frida.
How Eugenio is going to get over Blanca's mistakes (apparently again), especially after learning of the money Mama Suegra gave Julian, I don't know.
Poor Julietta, one minute she is having dirty water thrown on her and the next she has Blanca crying on her shoulder. She is so over the drama with this family.
Diana, Susanlynn: ITA about Ana. It looks like we will be at the same table on the patio where she is concerned. Every time I have a sympathetic thought towards that character! I have to remind myself of what she did and how much pain she has caused.
I really enjoyed the slap stick /physical comedy in the Gabriel/Daniela exchanges. Yes, Diana "they smashed that theory to bits." Good one!
This was really just a little bit of this and that but still entertaining; so here we go:
We pick up the story at the hospital where the whole family is waiting for some information on Imelda. As they wait, they decide to all pray but at first can't decide to which saint. At Daniela's request they all pray to whomever they wish. Julieta just watches from the sidelines feeling very uncomfortable and excuses herself from the scene when invited to participate. Eugenio and Blanca leave as well. Eugenio asks Blanca how his mother fell ill. She admits they had just gotten negative results as to the identity of the latest possible Juan Pablo. Eugenio says he told her so. His mother could die because of her. Their son is dead. Accepting that is the only way to keep living and if she doesn't, he is out of there. He cannot go on living in this madness. Julieta overhears this as she is looking for somewhere to avoid all of them. Blanca just sobs. She tells Robert about what she saw a few minutes later. Julieta says she does not know what the family is hiding but it must be something serious and she is intrigued.
Blanca ends up crying in the hospital chapel wondering why God did this to her and why doesn't he hear her. Robert sees her and visits with her. He tells her everything has a solution. She says not this, He says maybe someday it will. He wants to tell her she is not alone. She thanks him. He wants her to know that Imelda is stabilized. She is out of danger. It was a nervous breakdown but now she is out of danger. What to call each other? He likes her and they settle on "doña Blanca". She insists on calling him "doctor" and being honest she is not too sure if she likes him or not. He encourages her to go back to that great "team" of a family that is out in the waiting room. She thanks him for helping her mother-in-law. She grabs and squeezes his hands. Now he wants her to stop being sad. Sometimes there are things in our hearts we just cannot let go of. She will tell him someday.
Marisol, Daniela and Linda all talk about how Marisol has to tell their parents about Ignacio. She won't do it now until granny is okay. Imelda wakes up and is greeted by Robert who explains her medical situation to her. She can see her family as long as she stays calm. She never knew he was a doctor. She thanks him. Out in the waiting area, Julieta is still on the sidelines watching the large and boisterous family as the nurse tries to get them to quiet down. Finally, Roberto comes out with the good news that Imelda will be fine. She has takotsubo cardiomyopathy aka "broken heart syndrome" in which damage is caused to the heart caused by severe stress but it is reversible. She will be well soon. Everyone thanks Robert and cheers for him except for Julieta.
That night Linda and Daniela talk about what happened to granny. Daniela still feels guilty for having been born and her brother disappearing.
The next day in the bakery Eugenio and Blanca get into it again. She is sick of hearing the same old thing. Well, his mother could have died because of that creep. He also stole thousands of pesos from her. He is worried something could have happened to Blanca. He would die without her.
At work, Daniela is talking to her co-worker Dante about feeling guilty for her brother's disappearance. He knows that is why she deprives herself of anything that might make her happy. She buries herself in her work so she does not have to feel anything. Just at that moment she gets a phone call from Gabriel ( who cannot get her out of his mind) and the usual nonsense between the two goes on. This time he comes down to where she works. She is not looking for anyone: especially him. She is not his type. He is not hers. How is she going to pay him? This is the last time they will see each other. He is turning it over to his lawyers. He leaves. She calls him an idiot.
At the hospital, Blanca and Ana visit Imelda who is still upset by the whole Julián situation. Little by little Blanca will pay Imelda back the money she lost. Blanca tells her Juan Pablo is dead. Eugenio is right. Ana looks uncomfortable. Imelda is really worked up now. She won't accept Blanca's new point of view. Just in the nick of time, Robert comes in to calm her down and to tell her that suffering does not make things better. She is being released that very day. She needs to relax and not get nervous.
When Robert leaves, Imelda decides they need to have him over for dinner. Blanca is not too sure because of the way she has acted. Imelda sees it as an opportunity to set things right. Imelda wants everyone there. Blanca invites Robert. He accepts for that very night. What does he like to eat. Enchiladas. Blanca tells him that is Eugenio's favorite, too.He compliments her on her smile and spirit. She also tells him that he can stay in his apartment. He hugs her. Robert calls Julieta at work to tell her about the invitation. She is not comfortable in going but will accompany him if he is going.
Marisol has taken it upon herself to pack up all of Ignacio's stuff and drop it off at Begoña's restaurant. The doorman does'n't know what to do with all of the boxes. Begoña watches from the balcony. She comes down and she and Marisol get into it. Begoña does not want his stuff there it is better to just throw it out since it is a part of his past. Well, his daughter is not a part of his past. Marisol finds a seat at a table, orders a lemonade and says she is waiting to talk to Ignacio. She will not be removed.
A strange man with sunglasses comes to see Audifaz at the rental agency.. when he takes his sunglasses off, it is Xavi Galán a famous singer (played by real life singer Yahir). Audifaz tries to rent him a rooftop apartment.
Robert finds out that the Association of Lost Children has not found any matches for him with his DNA. If his parents never looked for him, it will be impossible to find them.
Blanca has a big announcement for Eugenio. She is giving up looking for Juan Pablo. He is not so sure. This is not the first time he has heard this. She is even going to have the agencies delete all of her information. If her information is gone, nobody can call. From today on, she is accepting that her son will never come back. Later that afternoon, Blanca clears out a wooden box filled with the toys, clothes, shoes, and other items she had saved from Juan Pablo. She puts it all in a big cardboard box. Ana comes by just as she is taking out the box to the dumpster at the curb. She tells Ana her hope is gone. As of today her son is dead. Ana looks upset but is more than happy to help Blanca delete her information from the various agencies. She can go to the agency handling the DNA (the one that Robert is dealing with). Ana just needs a letter signed by Blanca giving her the power to close out her information.
Robert is talking to a co-worker Genoveva about a child being adopted and suddenly he has a memory from his own past. He is at the orphanage and his new parents have come to pick him up. He runs from them. He tells Julieta about the memory later. She says they knew there was always a possibility of finding his family if he came back to Oaxaca. He is just looking for an answer. He can't get it out of his mind. She thinks thatnlife will give him the answer someday. She feels desperate because she cannot do more for him. Robert tells her she does more than enough just being by his side. She tells him to have faith.
Robert is arriving home and picks up a piece of paper on the street to throw out. He sees Julieta and never looks at the paper. It is the "missing " poster from when Blanca and Eugenio were searching for Juan Pablo. It blew out of Blanca's box in the dumpster on the curb.
Ignacio finally arrives at work and wants to know what Marisol is doing waiting for him. Well, she sees they are really anxious for her to get that divorce so she is not going to give it to Ignacio. She is going to dedicate herself to making it as uncomfortable as she can for the two of them. She is just going to be all over in their lives. Marisol knows Begoña bought Ignacio. Marisol is not the stupid thing they both thought she was. Begoña is not happy. At home Marisol has Frida call her father which just irritates Begoña even more. He doesn't answer. Frida leaves a message. Begoña reminds Ignacio she paid for the apartment Marisol lives in and the car. Begoña wants to be with Ignacio but will not ruin her life over him. He has been put on notice.
Ana is at the DNA agency for lost children (that Robert is also registered at )doing what she said she would: deleting Blanca's data. She explains that last experience with the conman was just too much. The agency worker understands.
It is almost time for dinner and Julieta really does not want to go eat with the neighbors. She doesn't know if she has the energy to see them all together. They should make a movie "The Invasion of the Córsega". Robert sees the invitation as an act of friendliness. If they really wanted to be friendly they would just leave them alone Julieta concludes. Anyway, she has a lot to do with the launch of the new catalogue. Why does he not just go by himself? Because they BOTH were invited. Okay, she'll go but no matter how "nice " they seem, she really doesn't like them. They start to discuss Blanca. Julieta decides to keep her thoughts to herself and go and get dressed. She hopes it does not turn into a fiasco. Also, with a big smile she says she is going to charge him. He is left with his mouth open . . .
FIN
As telenovela irony would have it, Robert has the answer to his identity (the lost poster) in his own hand and throws it out.
So far Julieta has managed to keep herself on the edge of/separated from the Córsega clan but with what result? They really made a point of showing her keeping herself apart. She wouldn't even join in on the prayer.
I am glad they spent time on Daniela feeling guilty for being born. She needs somebody like Gabriel who is goofy enough to keep going after her and break down her walls. Her reaction to him is so ambivalent that there has to be hope. She looks like she is almost smiling at him at times during his onslaughts.
Marisol is turning out to be a lot tougher than I ever thought.
Ana us such a snake in the grass!
That is all for now. : )
Robert is already getting so close to the family he doesn't know he has. I'm really surprised the writers'directors aren't having Blanca "feel" the connection during the "touching" moments as much as they could. They give more emphasis to the saw than the moments between Robert and Blanca...sometimes I think those close-ups of the saw are a prelude to a horrible accident...when Gabriel fell back, I was so afraid he would be the victim. The guy is obnoxious but he is starting to grow on me and he and Daniela would really make a cute couple, IMO.
Teh scenes where Blanca was packing JP's things was heartbreaking. I know she has suffered tremendously, but I also think Eugenio, although he tries not to show it, also continues to suffer for his lost son. He probably prefers to think of JP as dead because it's more "final" and he can try to move on.
"Ana us such a snake in the grass" ITA Jarifa...she's a cobra. How she can face Blanca and pretend to be supportive is unbelievable.
OMG I couldn't believe when Audifaz and his wife were stealing coffee in their large thermos from the hospital. Those two really are cheap but hilarious!
I had some hope for Ana because she seemed torn but after last night I hope Julian goes after her. She is only trying to save her skin at the expense of the considerable suffering of the family. She doesn't even know if JP would remember who dropped him off at the orphanage but she isn't taking any chances.
Gabi obviously has very little to do and driving women crazy seems to excite him. Dani could use a little of Gabi's craziness, even if he is arrogant and insufferable. I still enjoy him.
I agreed when Juli was like "if they want to be nice they should just leave us alone"! This dinner should be fun.
Count me confused too about how JP wound up with Ana. They showed a scene a while back where little JP was with Eugenio in (I think) an open food market, then suddenly little JP was gone and Eugenio is frantically searching for him. Another time, young Ana said something in a flashback that made me think JP as the only boy in the extended family was heir to something and that was a threat to her since she couldn't have a son of her own. Still makes no sense.
Gabriel is nutty, but now that Daniela wrecked his car with crazy driving I think she's nutty too. They should make a great couple.
I don't think we missed anything. I don't remember them giving us any info on how Juan Pablo ended up with Ana only that he did. We don't even know when he ended up with Ana. All we we know is that Blanca was shopping with Juan Pablo at the market. She went into labor and he was gone. Ana was never mentioned being at the market with them. Probably just one of those mysteries to keep us watching. : )
RgvChick, Blanca packing Juan Pablo's belongings scene was heart wrenching. Diana Bracho has been phenomenal.
Susanlynn, thanks for the info on loneliness. The mind body connection is much more complicated than we know. I thought the " suffering does not make things better" quote memorable, too.
Carvivlie, Audifaz and his wife really are something else. I like his character in spite of his cheapskate ways.
Niecie, I think Gabriel and Daniela will make a great couple if they are ever able to talk to each other.
If no one else Is doing a recap for tonight, I can do a brief one.
Blanca will be thrilled when she finally discovers that Robert is her long lost son because Robert will be a very good son. He has already been kind and thoughtful to her even when she was being difficult and cranky.
