Caer En Tentacion #4, 10/19/17: The Red Shoe Diaries #2017

Dear Red Shoes.....

Parte 1~~

At the hospital, Mia races out of Damian's hospital room yelling and screaming to her mama and grandma that he's awake!  Unfortunately, the neurologist must explain it was a reflex action, nothing more. (Talk about yelling loud enough to wake the living dead-- oh well, since nothing else seems to.)

At the police station Santiago comes face to face with "Carolina" and disgusted, tells Antonio this isn't his wife at all.  Tonio tells him he should have stayed home and let them handle this.  Of course they learned she was a prostitute who decided to get her fifteen minutes of fame by claiming she was Caro.  Go figure... And, therefore, Goody Godoy must call his wife to clarify this woman was not Carolina Rivas.  Laura does a retraction and rebuilds the public's expectation level once again.....

Andres continues pawing Cintia, attempting to take her by force if not willingly.  She wants information and so does he.  This is the making of the [no big] deal and they both end up losers.  Andres can't get no satisfaction (I believe) and Sin can't get no real scoop de poop.  (Bummer.  I guess Sintia is a little beyond her pubescent use-by date.)  He gets off her and threatens her that the Sin and Sissy better start looking for work, cuz  he's going to make certain she and Raq hit the skids and hard.

Nico tells Lola that he heard it wasn't the first time their mama and Dam drove around together. Once in the middle of the night he got a call from his mother and he was sure they were together.  Lola blames him for keeping things in the dark when they could've intervened and prevented this thing from happening.  He refuses to take the blame.  Federico knocks on their front door just then, asking if their mama really showed up.

Miriam scolds Andres for lying about how busy he is managing the business during Dam's hospitalization.  The sexratery already complained he's never around there so how could he be looking out after the business?  She pumps him about that relationship between Dam and Caro.  How could he have known and then kept all in the dark about it.  Andres thinks back 3 years to his unhealthy pursuit of Lola...

Andres has followed Lola home,  threatening her family finding out about her little secret activities (aye! Papa don't [screech]); now that he knows where she lives.  He mentions that Raq is his S-I-L.  Andy's there to get  what he wants--to finish what SHE started with him.  He's not about to let her make a fool out of him.

Inside Raq's living room, Caro and Raq are coming to terms on their new business proposal.  Back at the office, Andy tells Dam that he's not to blame for the books not squaring; Raquel's been having him sign checks for sums of money which she either cannot or doesn't want him to know about, and no, it's not the Foundation, since she always goes to Dam for that cash.  Dam says he'll look into it.
Mia and her new BFF blows Fede off when he tries to chat her up.

Caro calls while Andy's still in Dam's office, looking into the checkbook sums and tells him she's accepted Raq's banquet business partnership proposal.  He wants to see her alone.  She resists politely.

In the Becker's kitchen, Raq informs Santi of the same thing.  She advises him not to be bitter; besides, the profits go to the Foundation. She tries convincing him that Caro will feel better about herself and life and he, as the hubby, will benefit.  "--Uh, you understand me....right?"

Raquel, angry at the thought of Dam waking up at the mere mention of Carolina's name, walks into his hospital room and tries speaking her name numerous times with no result.  She cries and scolds him for it. When she returns home, Sintia informs Raq that Andres was there today pumping her for information (oh yeah, you could say that).  "--He wanted to know about money things, the insurance and so on.  You need to watch him and be careful around him.  They are going to try to takes your money and possessions away from you!"  Raquel says she's nuts.  She's got better things to worry about, like Caro and all the grief she's caused everyone.  Sin says she's learned it wasn't Caro.  She's still missing.  "--Poor Santiago."  Kid Sis gets pissed that at a time like that all Raq can do is think about Santiago.  "--What's with you, anyway?"

Rueda reports to Meerkat Miriam that Caro's still missing.  "--When she does show up, you make it your job to see that we are the first to speak to her.  Understand?" It'll be difficult to arrange that.  Well, says she, that's what he gets the big bucks for....and it's paramount they learn all about who caused the accident and why.

Parte 2~~

Nico tells los Alvarado about Fede's Abuela's reward for information.  Santi tells him all she wants is to find somebody to blame, starting here in their home.  Lola adds, because she hates us!  Just then, Caro's sister-in-law, Lisa shows up.

3 years back: Caro fingers an expensive pen she originally got for Santi and he never used. She tells Santi she'd like it to be a present to the Beckers for giving him a job and for allowing her to work with Raq as her associate.  (I think. )  She'll do what she wants anyway, so what they hey, he answers.  He gives her a kiss and all is well.

At the same time, Dam and Raq are arguing over the checks she's been writing to herself out of company funds.  Raq conveniently sidesteps answering and then races off to the foundation saying one of the kids got a transplant finallyl.

Later that day, Dam has gone to meet Caro in Raq's place as Caro is stopped by a shop window  admiring a pair of red CFM stiletto heels. They chat politely. He insists on buying them for her, as a gift.  She cannot resist.

At school, Mia gets bullied and then trips clumsily over a chair and lands on the floor after some hunky Mr. Popularity determined to date/do her has greeted her.  The whole class laughs at her.

Dam shows Caro some building (possibly their new catering business's locale).  They're alone.  He asks her to put on the shoes for him.  There's a moment where she pauses, then he lifts her onto the work table in the kitchen area.  She lets him caress her thighs and legs, then lets him put the shoes on her.  Viewerville is left with the distinct impression that although the shoes go on, the rest of those delicate duds come off......

Apparently, Caro's SIL is surprised she and Santi are not actually separated as she was led to believe.  She tells Santi she's seen Caro a couple of times in their town with another man.  Also Caro's brother has as well.  Then why was he lying to them and the police, to everyone?

At the hospital that same evening Raq's rage is halted for a moment when the nurse calls her out to hand over Dam's personal items on him when he was brought into the emergency room.  Raq looks at the pen and remembers 3 years earlier.

Caro and Raq run into each other post her diddling dalliance with Dam.  Caro had just stopped by the office and admires how her red CMF stiletto's looked on her feet. She mentions to Raq the gift she brought for Dam and was there to give it to him as a gesture of thanks and good will.  Raq looks down at those shoes and is drop-jaw impactada.  Caro lies that she bought them for herself on credit.

At the highschool, Lola's gym teacher corners her again and tells her he'd like to be her friend.  Sorry, dude!  I don't make a habit of becoming BFF's with my male profs! (Yep, Viewerville is wont to opine that Gymmie is cut from the same pervy mold as Andres, but smoother and much better looking.  What a waste.)

After school, Mr. Popularity is asking to give Mia a lift home.  Fede swoops in and interrupts.  She tells him in no uncertain words to drop dead, then walks off.  Mr. P sneers and chuckles.  That evening, Nico gripes at her for having treated his BFF so meanly.  He warns her if it gets down to Fede or her, well, just don't make him have to choose cuz she will lose.  His cutting remarks get her so upset she looks for her razor blades and contemplates the unthinkable.

Across the hallway, Raq puts the gift on top of Dam's side of the bed.  He opens it and the minute Raq is called to Mia's room, he sneeks a peek at the note inside: "for you to write your story."  He calls her to thank her and flirt a bit.  "--If I were to write anything with that pen it would be your name."  He asks her if she actually wore those new heels to the office.  Before she can answer Santi races into the kitchen.  Caro starts talking business gibberish and says give her regards to Raquel then quickly hangs up.  Santi grabs her around the waste and she's so nervous she drops her special favorite set of plates.  Lola walks in holding the new red heels up and asks her mama if they were hers.  Ruh-rohhhhh!

Jardinera: I like the title of recap you've posted.

Foreshadowing: Raquel needs to listen to Sinthia. This is why both Raquel & Carolina need their own money so they are not dependent on Damian & Santiago.

Raquel doesn't have the head for that now because her entire world has been destroyed. The past 3 years have been a lie. She doesn't know who Damian is. She's wondering how he could look her in the face & tell her he loved her while carrying on a double life with Carolina. She's wondering if he ever loved her or if he was just with her out of obligation. She's wondering (or going to be) how could she have missed the signs, if there was something more she could've done. She's wondering if Damian is cowardly, greedy, selfish or all of the above --she said as much last night when she said he could've just left instead of doing all this lying and cheating.

And she's thinking about Santiago because right now he's frantic trying to find Carolina, but after he finds her he's going to have the same questions.

If Sinthia was a trustworthy person, she could think of how to protect Raquel from Andres & Miriam during this trying time. But Sinthia is slimy & can't be trusted. Fact is, Raquel can't trust anyone right now except her kids & Santiago.

Damian was disgusting for buying Caro those cheap ass shoes and putting them on her in Nora & Rebecca's house.

The actress formerly known as "Brigida" looked so different with the darker hair and minimal makeup.

And now Raquel is going to be further devastated to find a set of house keys that don't belong to HER house in Damian's personal effects.

Thank you so much, Jardinera, for that snappy recap.

Red shoes..uh oh.

All these men after that young girl...awful.

Not many rays of light in this telenovela...deception, cheating, stalking.

Thank you Jardinera, Urban, Princess and any recappers that I fail to mention. I forgot that this TN started on the 16th. I'm in northern California and last week now seems like an ugly nightmare. We were spared thankfully but had evacuees living with us last week. I watched the first part last night and now I'm trying to catch up by reading the recaps. I'm still confused as to who the characters are but the recaps are helping immensely.

Andres is thoroughly disgusting. I'm not used to seeing that actor in such a despicable role.

Anon207, ITA about Cinthia's advice. She sure can see what could be coming in relation to Raquel's finances. Then there is creepy Andrés who was trying to poison the waters earlier between Raquel and Damián by way of complaining about Raquel's check writing.

Losers Damián and Carolina deserved each other. Andrés is a sexual predator. Now let us see what is in everybody's else's closet.

I never said, but I will now: Thank you, Jardinera! Your hard work is appreciated.

Urban, Jardinera, Princess Juju, thanks for your reaps! I'm behind and probably won't catch up till this weekend. Your recaps and the comments here are must reads for me.

It's not right of course, but I totally get Carolina falling for Damián. Oooh, he's seductive! My take is they meant the affair to be just a diversion but it turned into love. Guess I better catch up to figure this out. :>

Jardinera, I was so happy to be reading your sensational recaps again, but even more so after today.

I could have cut and pasted everything but decided on my favorites that included
"Talk about yelling loud enough to wake the living dead-- oh well, since nothing else seems to", "This is the making of the [no big] deal" and "they both end up losers Papa don't [screech). Excellent

I read you comment on who Raq can trust (kids and Santiago) with great interest Anon207. One of the many comments that stuck me was "Kid Sis gets pissed that at a time like that all Raq can do is think about Santiago. "--What's with you, anyway?" I have felt uneasy with the way Raq has acted with Santi since day one. I realize part of it is due to her personality but she has been overly coddling and protective. It simply has me thinking.

I do feel for both Santi and Raq and can't imagine what they are going through. That said, I have the nagging feeling that there is a twist in all this somewhere. I don't trust anyone, and am wondering if Santi and Raq are truly the innocent parties they appear to be. Perhaps. It was clear Damian and Caro's car was hit with something from behind. Something or someone caused that accident and my suspicions are aroused with everyone.

I have to say I thought that Damian and Caro exuded incredible sexuality during the shoe scene. I'm not saying it's right, but we knew adultery was the central part of this storyline. I am simply saying this is a passion that is obviously going to burn out of control. Damian is drawn to Caro because she is sensual and quiet. I find Raq's character exhausting (especially in the pre affair scenes) I'm not sure if Raq's character is meant to be quite as over the top as she comes across (I'm talking about the pre affair scenes) or if it the actresses portrayal. I'm not criticizing, just commenting.

I feel for the children here. All of them.

Jardinera, thank you!

Diana

Raquel is overly drawn to Santiago, so we'll see if Raquel & Santiago were having an emotional affair, which is just as dangerous as a physical one, or if they were truly just friends.

I think it's interesting that Santiago doesn't mind when Raquel talks about him being an architect but is like "meh" when Carolina talks about him being an architect.

I think both Santiago & Raquel knew all along deep down that Damian & Carolina were having the affair ... the friendship between the couples was to both keep their eyes on their spouses as well as to keep their spouses.

Andres, Miriam & Raquel have the most to gain from Damian's demise.

The observation about Carolina being sensual & quiet vs. Raquel's loud OTT'ness is interesting.

Thanks so much Jardinera! This story is keeping me on my toes! It's truly fascinating.

Diana: Touching on what you said about Raquel, in watching both the past and present day versions of her, the pre-affair version of her is obviously a bomb waiting to explode and also I think she almost seems naive especially by going into this partnership with Caro. The scene of them discussing the venture made them look like best friends or something. The scene of her in the hospital talking to a comatose Damian really showed how frustrated and angry she is almost to the point of a complete mental breakdown.

Andres is getting creepier by the episode. He seems to be doing everything Miriam tells him to.

I thought it was definitely interesting what Fede told Lola about their mother and Damian. Besides the discovery of them trying to run away they obviously were not careful otherwise.

And we have our first plot object lol: the plot red high heel. I wonder how Caro will explain that one.

Plot Red Heel and Plot Pen both made their debuts last night.

Diana..that was such an insightful remark you made about why Damien was attracted to Carolina. Raquel is already on MY last nerve. She needs to dial it back. I cannot imagine what living with her all these years has been like for Dam. However, that does not excuse in any way his seduction of Carolina and her going along with the seduction. #weddingvows

Hola Patio Pals! I have been out of the Caray loop, as not much on the tn front has been capturing my attention lately. However I see that my GS is the lead and I need my fix! Muchos gracias to UA, Jardinera and Princes Juju, for the most excellent recaps! You all have gotten us off to a great start and I look forward to all the delightful snark and wit that is always on point with this group. I've missed you all and look forward to the unfolding of this wicked tale.

I have to say immediately, that while I feel for Santi and Raq being cheated on by their spouses, neither did themselves any favors with their domineering and pushy behavior. Santi was/is an oppressive machismo who doesn't allow his wife to be her own person. Raq simply bulldozes her way into and around people. Who could blame Damian and Carolina for viewing the other as a breath of fresh air? It was wrong to have the affair, but life is messy sometimes. I'm looking forward to the rest of the story.

Thank you Jardinera for your very thorough recap.

I find Carolina's character to be fake. Sensual and quiet eh, she was just fed up with her marriage and allowed herself to venture out with Damian. I can't stand the way she keeps pretending she is so innocent. She is not!! otherwise she would not have continued to text, call and visit Damian. Oh yeah and she would have not allowed another man to buy her those shoes.

Raquel is over the top with her friendliness, and continued hounding of Santi and Carol. She seems to be starved for friendship.

The most despicable to me is Andres and Miriam. If my mother in law talked to me the way Miriam talks to Raquel, I would have kicked her to the curb a long time ago. Andres and that teacher are both child predators.

One last thing, I just want to clarify that Mia and Fede are brother and sister and Lola and Nico are brother and sister, it is flipped in the comments and the recap.

Allowing a man that's not your husband to buy you a pair of sexy red shoes is disrespectful to your husband.

Wearing the sex shoes to your lover's wife's house is also disrespectful.

I understand Carolina may feel disrespected by Santiago but that doesn't give her the right to then disrespect another woman that's done nothing to you.

And if Damian feels neglected and ignored by Raquel, when's the last time he bought Raquel a pair of sexy red shoes?

And then what happens is they get busted, and the "We just fell in love" "it just happened" "we couldn't help ourselves" excuses start flowing. Because those excuses may be true but those excuses are also easier than saying:

Raquel, your man is sexy and I wanted some of that.

Raquel, you have a nice life with a rich man. If he wants to spend money on me, who am I to object?

Raquel, you have nice home with a rich man. I was hoping one day I could have your nice home & rich man, too.

Santiago, you're a broke controlling bum & I'm tired of your sh*t.

Raquel, you're too loud & over the top.

Raquel, I want a woman who STFU & looks at me adoringly like Carolina.

Raquel, I'm tired of you ignoring me for your foundation.

Santiago, I don't think too much of you at all, but I will help myself to your wife.

Life is messy. Oftentimes people sweep the dirt under the rug instead of cleaning the house.

Hi Delilah!

So good to see your post. Glad you will be with us here.

The show has been powerful and there have been many insightful and profound comments. The subject matter is sobering and sparking a lot of emotion.

Diana

Anon207 I completely agree with you. I think that if Damian did not like Raquel's personality he should have never married her in the first place, that is who she is. And Mrs. Mousy well she has to stop being such a hypocrite. She is all kissy kissy with Raquel while she stabs her in the back. Well we wouldn't have a TN then right? so I will just roll with the flow for now.

I am trying to figure out which characters I like..or can at least tolerate ..in this novella. So far it is the baby and maybe Goday.

Gracias, Jardinera. Great title.

Is Damian looking to get caught? A pair of expensive CFM shoes is more than a red flag. I am wondering, though, how well Santiago knows Carolina's wardrobe and whether he would recognize those as expensive shoes. Most men don't have a clue about those things.

Godoy's wife and her boss are typical media vultures. Disgusting. They belong in the gutter with Cinthia and Andres, the latter of whom should watch his arse because Santiago will have his head when he finds out what he's done to Lola.

Can anyone think of a sluttier name than "Lola"? It's the name of the cheating wife in Cavalleria Rusticana and Marlene Dietrich's character in The Blue Angel.

Good gracious, Jar, here I am thanking you again for a tip top notch recap. Snappy and biting. Other than that, I can only hunker down and let all the above comments speak for me--tonight I am speechless! Great comments everyone.

Anon207, so nice to have you back and posting. Diana, so glad you are here, you, too Susanlynn....and Sandie and wow, Delilah--'cmon girl, do us a recap or two before this is over. TF, you are new to me, so I say welcome to this patio. Pull up a folding chair and order a margarita or tequila or iced tea, whatever suits.

Can't wait for the effects of the red shoes on Santi.

Oh, and about those checks--I believe Raq did deny asking for any checks to be written but she wasn't in the mood to discuss it, although Dam kept insisting they HAVE this conversation, then she got the phone call and ducked out on him with his mouth hanging open. At first I thought maybe it was Raq asking for the money to use for Cindy's rehab, but then I remembered Raq telling Cindy she knew very well why they had to sell their parents' house. So, another mystery to put up on the chalk board.

Anita, I’m glad to be back.

I thought Raq told Andres she wanted to buy a gift for Damian but didn’t want him to be signing his own check?

Jardinera, this recap was as fun as the show.
“Andres was there today pumping her for information“
“The sexratery already complained...”
“Viewerville is wont to opine that...”
I had to look up the shoe “brand” CFM. Ha ha!
