Caer En Tentacion #7, 10/24/17: Time To Pluck What's Planted
⦁ Damian tells Carolina does want this relationship but won't dare to enjoy; "--When will you stop being afraid?" She tells him to take her home.
⦁ Mia doesn't want to be lectured. Raquel says fine. I've got your back.
⦁ Lola arrives home and is accosted by Andres. He makes it plain he wants what he wants--what he's prepaid for...."--Told you before I'm not sleeping with you, so get lost!" Suddenly, Gym Teacher rides in for the rescue. Andres and he have a pissin' contest. Andres threatens to use his powerful family name to put G.T. in his place then leaves. Lola is confused by Prof's presence--but not for long. Stalking Pervy Prof confesses he's fallen in love with Lola despite her being a minor. He will have her six, he says.
⦁ Santiago gets a heartfelt apology from Raq regarding Mia. She's got problems. He can relate. Miriam accuses Dam of falling into this new woman's clutches. He's realizes that Raq is boring and a rotten wife and he's gone looking for "adventures"/affairs to fill his romantic life with. She warns him the woman will be trouble for him and that this behavior affects the children. He denies all. She won't allow it to get that far. He's been warned.
⦁ Caro is remembering all of Dam's romantic approaches and encounters (the silver tongued snake that he is).
⦁ Raq meets with the hospital doctor who tells her to hurry and find the resources necessary to continue to get her sister the important treatment she needs. She is rushed on the way out by Cintia who is dragged back onto the hospital grounds.
⦁ Caro tries apologizing to Lola. Lola scolds and scoffs at her mother for chasing after rich folk's money: it's not self-improvement or friendship. It's called pure greed. Carol tries explaining it's about improving the quality of life over the privation they've all had growing up. Lola doesn't care and wants no part of it. "--And, forget the class trip; I don't want to go on that anyway.!!"
⦁ Gabriela pays a visit to Raq and tries to get her to open her eyes to this new "friend" of hers. She explains that she met the woman when she ran into Dam. They were having a close chat over coffee and this Caro makes Gabby nervous. She's the social climbing type. Raq tells her to stop imagining things that aren't there. Gabby warns her it was the way she was looking at Dam that was just so not right. "That woman is NOT your friend." Raq won't allow anymore. Gabby says well I've done my duty towards my friend by coming here.
⦁ Meanwhile, Caro gets dressed up for her secret rendezvous with Dam. Luscious Red lipstick, a unusually deep plunging neckline. The kids see and she tells them she's going to change her "look" now that things are changing and she's become Raquel's business partner. Nicolas asks won't Papa get angry about this? No time to worry about that, and she hopes not. (We know better....)
⦁ Back at Legato Pasta Factory, Dam is about to leave for his tete a tete with Caro when the sexratery tells him two VIP's have arrived from the US and want to speak to him. "--Let Andres do that." He's not around. Dam texts Caro he'll be late and is anxious to see her again. She texts it's a sign they'd better just forget this meeting.
⦁ Raq talks to Santi about softening his view towards Nicolas and Caro. (??)
⦁ Outside Andres arrives and gives Caro grief for being dolled up as if she's trying to lure his cousin on. "--You slept with him yet?" She tells him not to insult her like that. He then goes after her--maybe trying for the adult version of Lola. "You're going to be my employee and you're going to treat me with the proper respect!" She fights him off her and races down the street, texting Dam not to come out of the building since his cousin's outside there with her. Antsy Pants yells at her, "--You're going to one day come looking for/needing/wanting [all of the above rolled into one word] me. She calls Santi to get hold of herself but cannot. She says she was outside the company offices [local] and feeling horrible and wants him to come get her. Santi excuses himself from Raq in the kitchen and leaves immediately.
⦁ Lola runs into BFF and tells her she's not interested in partying with Mike and her. In fact she wants out from under. She is done with her and that crazy trip and the old dude--all of it. She's done! She walks away from ex-BFF.
⦁ Fernando is tired and says he's getting heat from his boss over giving her inside info about the case. Limping Laura says she is also and has to do her job. She blames him for also making her lame the rest of her life. He falls for the guilt trip Laura lays on him. How much longer must he pay for what he did? All his life long! She huffs away and then comes back to apologize. "--Just like me."
⦁ Antsy Pants arrives to look in on Dam and finds Nico standing there. He growls at Nico that he doesn't want any part of his family to come near Dam and this hospital room again. Andy asks the doc how Dam's doing. "--Will he ever be the same once he comes out of the coma?" In his best doctor speak, he answers that remains to be seen....
⦁ Nando gives Laura the phone and she reads all the texts with all their lovey dovey stuff....how they love each other and she's jealous of Raq getting to sleep with him instead of her...how they cannot stand to be apart from each other.....
⦁ Nico is waiting outside on the stairs at Raq's house? He opens up and finally tells Santi how he got a wrong phone call from a man and he never told anybody for fear telling might tear the family apart. Now look at how far things went. If he'd said something none of this would have happened. He blames himself. Santi says it's not his fault. "--And then, if and when she does show up, nothing will be the same as before. How could it after she's ruined everybody's life?"
⦁ The next day, Santi's in Com. Antonio's office to identify a shoe found near the accident site. Santi says yeah, that was his wife's shoe. Santi demands to see the texts on Caro's phone. Antonio refuses, realizing that's the last thing this cuckolded maniacal machisto needs to see.
⦁ Laura reads a few paragraphs of her Caro exposee to her editor.
⦁ That evening, Miriam and Andy are both outside Dam's room. She moans that she warned Dam that woman was dangerous. Well, does Rueda have any news? Nothing. Not until she reappears or Damian wakes up will they be able to learn anything more. And, what about Raquel? Has Andres done anything about her? No. Well, they need conclusive evidence that Raquel and los Alvarado had something to do with what happened to her son. "So stop 'worrying' about it and just 'DO' something about it! I want Raquel in jail!"
⦁ Back at los Becker, Santi and Raq commiserate over how stupid and blind they both were to be so ignorant of what was going on under their noses with their two spouses for such a long time. What do they do about it now? Santi wants to find Caro and get her to face him and explain why she unleashed all this hurt and travesty. Cintia comes into the room and tells them if it were her she'd pay Caro and Dam back by giving them a taste of their own medicine [pagar con la misma moneda]. Raq is totally disgusted and shoos Cintia out of the living room and their presence.
⦁ Back at the office, Rueda arrives and speaks privately with Andres. The company books don't square and he's there to look out after Miriam's interests. He's there to give Antsy Pants fair warning and a second, last chance. Put the cash he took back, repay Miriam essentially, or else it will be him and not Raquel who goes to jail.
⦁ Back at Raq's, Santi's about to leave and says he hopes Dam regains consciousness and realizes everything he's lost. Among the things lost he lists the fine wife Dam has lost. He kisses her goodbye.
⦁ At the tv station, the editor mentions the new search the cops are going to do of the accident scene and environs. She had no idea. Seems then she's the only one, he says caustically. She immediately calls Nando to scold him. Nando, though is now warned. No slip ups and giving inside info to his wife! Click. Ok. So the new line of inquiry is: do you suppose the two spouses knew their mates were cheating on them with one another. Com. Antonio says it's generally the spouses who find out last. "--Well, maybe not in this case....." Nando will be re-examining the entire area for anything else they might have missed.
⦁ Raq visits Dam at the hospital and tells the comatose hubby how much she still loves him and wants him back. (Ugh. FF>>FF>>)
⦁ The next morning, the police are back out looking through the surrounding woods again when somebody calls Nando over to a secluded area. They find a hand sticking out of the dirt.

I will only say that the affair was doomed from the start. Damian and Caro should have taken heed with the fact their first rendezvous was ruined by unexpected clients, an unwelcome encounter and pure, unadulterated bad timing.
While Mia's mother showed caring and concern, it is obvious to even the untrained eye (mine) that the child is in real trouble. An intervention should have been uppermost in their minds.
Even the shades of gray are darkening at a frightening speed.
Diana
Diana: Shades of Gray,,,,hmmm, Ya think maybe literally, even? Mia needed psychiatric help as well as Sissy. It didn't cross Raq's mind. Her family and marriage are perfect. Her life is perfect. This just has to be a normal bump in the road of some teenagers. Mia still held back the truth and Raq didn't look any further. Seems Mia knew she could expect this out of her mama.We might have gone searching the room when Mia was at school. --Manipulative little brat.....IMNSHO.
Lola is getting on my nerves getting in everyone's business, as if she isn't a baby prostitute herself. Actually she's exuding whatever it is that's making Andres & the gym teacher obsess over her.
I'm glad Santiago told Nico none of this was his fault. Caro was very destructive and selfish to make her kids accomplices to her crimes against their father. While she probably didn't know that Nico knew, she was actively asking Lola not to mention this, that and the other to Santiago. Getting dolled up for sex with Damian but trying to downplay the new sex bomb look for her kids (so they wouldn't runteldat to Santiago ---especially Lola).
I'm wondering if Raquel was asking for the money from Andres to pay for Cinthia's treatment. If that's the case, I'm wondering why she didn't just ask Damian for the money to care for her sister?
Gabriela poured the tea for Raquel and hit her up with the facts. I think Raquel knew all along there was something between Damian & Caro but decided to be blind because quite frankly if she had confronted Damian about Carolina, she knew deep down he would leave her for Carolina. Best to keep Carolina around to keep Damian around.
Plus, if she kicked Carolina to the curb, that would also mean kicking Santiago to the curb. Raquel's friendship was with Santiago first, not Carolina.
IMO the root of affairs stems from 2 things: selfishness/entitlement and cowardice.
I think Damian/Carolina's affair stems from selfishness/entitlement, while Godoy's affair probably stemmed from cowardice.
Finally, have they finally found Caro?
"Antonio refuses, realizing that's the last thing this cuckolded maniacal machisto needs to see" was my hands down favorite.
Yes, Lola is a bit too self righteous. She should look internally and seek to fix her own many issues before she starts criticizing and denouncing others. I will make an exception in that I give her credit for defending Santi's worker against Mia's unjust reaction.
I can't tell if Raq blindly defended Caro to Gabriela because she truly believed Caro was innocent or if she knew and denied, denied, denied.
Laura is an emotional wreck. The main story line is sapping my emotions to the point I have nor room for her or her husband.
Is there any possible way that body isn't Caro?
Jardinera, thank you!
Diana
Both Raquel & Santiago are going to be very angry because they're going to be processing all of the signs they overlooked and all of the behavior changes and lies they were told and lies they told themselves.
Both Raquel & Santiago need to examine themselves to see where THEY contributed to the affair. They are not responsible, nor did they make Damian & Carolina cheat on them. Damian & Carolina made the concious choice to betray their partners. But a lot of times cheating is a symptom of something deeper going on...there's other issues to explore than just the cheating.
Perhaps Raquel examines herself & decides she wants someone she can be friends with, and frank and honest with. She's not frank or honest with Damian and they really don't seem to be friends to be honest.
Perhaps Santiago examines himself & decides that keeping Carolina on a short leash wasn't a good thing, and he actually enjoys being challenged & stimulated by a woman and just because she works & is independent doesn't mean she won't need him.
Perhaps Godoy examines himself & finds that he is afraid to stand up for himself because if he does, Laura might leave him.
Perhaps Laura examines herself & finds maybe she doesn't want to be married at all, she just doesn't want to be alone. Or maybe she would like a less passive husband than Godoy.
Whatever happens with these people & these relationships, it will never be the same again. The innocence of these relationships is gone. They can't unsee the ugliness.
But that's going to be a long process for these people. None of them will be "right" for a long time. That's part of the destructiveness of affairs. So we shouldn't be too harsh on Raquel for saying that she loves Damian & wants him back.
Quick question, is the actor who plays the gym teacher the same actor who played a pre-plastic surgery Yago? The guy looks so familiar but I can't quite place him.
Asked the question,"do you think the
Spouses knew about the affair?".I think they knew and didn't want to see
It. The thought would come into their
Minds and they'd guickly push it out.
Because "this is not happening" they'd
Tell themselves."This is a person I've
Put my heart and soul into, we've had
Out battles, but we love each other"
Right? "No he Loves me","she loves me"
Well something soured somewhere cuz
These to people wanted Out of their
safe........box of happy matrimony.
And that body,I dont think thats caro.
Now I wouldn't put it past slimmy Andy
To kill somebody to keep them quiet so
His theiving way wont be exposed and
Then half ass bury the body some place
He didn't think no one would look.Dont
Think it's Caro. But we will find out
Tonight.
I hate that she had her kids lying for her.DAMIAN WAKE UP))))))))))))we need
Answers. And they need to find out who
That hand belongs too. Pronto!
Miriam is a mean piece of old meat. She want Raquel blamed no matter what.
And she's nasty with it. I don't think she want Damian with anybody. She don't even like the cheatin wife. Which is understandable she's a cheating wife. These Old Smothering mother's is really somethin else.
Thank you Jardinera654
Carvivlie--I checked IMBD for you and Juan is listed as Paco Pizana, while Omar, the young Yago was played by Francisco Pizana. Paco is a universal Spanish nickname for Francisco, so my guess is that they are both the same--unless it is a brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, etc., etc.
Diana--FWIW, the hand sticking out of the dirt can't be attached to the body of Caro. Simplemente because it's too early. Maybe another prostitute? OTOH, if it is, then we only have a comatose Dam with any links to what happened to her and how she ended up buried some distance from the car wreck. From what we saw of the original wreck, Dam wouldn't know--he was as knocked out as she was. Someone else had to be involved. My guess, although I fervently hope it isn't, would be Santiago and the bald sketchy henchman.
So, more revelations which don't help much. However, Anon207's analysis certainly sheds a lot of light on motivations. I'm pretty sure that when the two timelines intersect--Tres Anos Antes with Epoca Actual, we will know more about what Santiago knew and what Raq probably suspected. It certainly seemed in the hospital scene where she is talking to Damian, she is sincere in her grief and love for the man. But, she might want him back just to accuse him of ruining their lives.
Interesting that Gabriela immediately jumps to the conclusion that Caro is after Dam and not the other way around and that is how she presents it to Raq. We all know that their initial meeting at the Legato store was pure coincidence (...hmmm, or was it) and that Dam immediately set his eyes on her. Then when she was brought into their circle of "friends," he continued to pursue her.
Interesting that her own brother Vicente also had that opinion of Caro, that she was only out for herself and monetary gain. But if that is true, why had she "suffered" under reduced circumstances for about 18 years with Santiago. Maybe, when she married him, he was on his way to being an architect and could promise her a better lifestyle and then the kids came along and he dropped out of school (flunked, maybe, or for financial reasons). That alone should have allowed him to let her work, but no, we know that didn't happen. It would be useful to know how Vicente and Carolina lived as youngsters. Were they well-to-do middle class or working class? That would also tell us a lot of her longings for material things and a more cultured life and the feelings of deprivation that go with them (although her house has a lot more furniture, art and knick-knacks than mine).
One last thought--despite Caro's protestations that she doesn't want to hurt Santiago or Raquel, we can't ignore the fact that a) she's running away to Miami with her business partner's husband/friend, theoretically for 2 days and b) she's leaving a 2+ year-old child behind with no thought about his care. What does she expect to come back to?
Damian may have been the initial pursuer but Carolina is ALSO pursuing him too. By portraying Damian as this predatory hounddog coming after Carolina takes away Carolina's responsibility in this matter. Carolina is no doe eye Bambi, just lost in the woods while the big bad Damian comes along to snatch her up. Every time Carolina looks at Damian with doe eyes when she sees a gift she wants, every time Carolina sexts him from the shower, every time Carolina defends Damian over Santiago, every time Carolina allows Damian to finger her on the couch while his wife is just inches away & her husband is in the next room, she is pursuing Damian.
Damian & Carolina are pursuing each other. Neither one of them are victims of the other.
My theory is that Santiago was an up and coming architecture student, he met Carolina, they got pregnant with Lola, he dropped out of school & married Carolina and has been in poverty and misery since. Because he couldn't realize his dreams, he doesn't want Carolina to realize hers.
People in affairs never want to hurt their partners. But their needs are more important than their partners so if their partner gets hurt, oh well. The partner just needs to realize it was forces out of their control, they couldn't help themselves, it was something bigger and stronger than them, blah blah blah etc etc.
Anon207: I seem to always agree with your comments. You are right on target when you describe Caro's responsibility. I have said from the beginning I don't like her, she pretends to be a damsel in distress. What did she have to complain about? she had an adoring husband, two kids, and a nice home. Yes Santi is a macho to the nth degree but he can be convinced to see things right, just look at what Raquel is able to get out of him. Damian is despicable, his wife was right there in the last episode, and he did not hold back.
Diana: You are right about the Nando and Laura story line, however, there are so many questions surrounding Laura and Nando. What happened to her leg? do we know? Who did he cheat with? why is he so weak when it comes to her demands? What is her interest in Carol? I think it goes beyond a news story.
At this point, my thoughts are going in many different directions and I'm not sure what to think. Am I overanalyzing? Missing clues that are right before my eyes?
It never occurred to me that Dam and Caro might have not have met by chance.
Someone mentioned that Dam seemed "too smooth". I agree and felt this wasn't his first adventure in cheating. I still think it might have been for Caro though. What I don't understand is why she stayed with Santi who (by his own admission) just wanted his children looked after and a dutiful wife. They were too open and too careless from the beginning. Perhaps defiant is not the right word, but it's not out of the realm.
I don't believe Vincente about anything. While Caro may have been restless and yearning to do more, I think it's only when she met Damian did she become cognizant of a world of intrigue and passion she wanted to be a part of. Family, who had been everything was quickly relegated to second place.
I'm not sure anyone is above suspicion.
I believe someone caused the accident and spirited (and/or killed) Caro away after she managed to disengage herself and (likely) try to get help.

If the body is Carolina I wonder where the investigation will go. There hasn't really been an explanation as to what exactly caused the accident, correct? I'd be very surprised if Damian wakes up. If he dies too then things will really turn upside down.
I wouldn't go right to calling Gabriela a "friend" of Raq since I got the notion that she was once involved with Damian as well.
I guess we'll eventually find out what happened to Cinthia and why she's in the mental institution. If I remember correctly, Andres has been stalking her as well.
The subplot with Lola and her professor was pretty random. I wonder if something will actually come of that.
I agree that I find Laura's interest in the case to be strange. What's her deal?
Thus, me calling her “mosca muerte”, who doesn’t break dishes.
Literal translation does not work “dead fly who doesn’t break dishes.” ????
Thanks Jardinera, I love your outlined recap, simply amazing.
Nina, I look forward to your comments, very earthy and witty. You say it like it is for sure.
In the advertisements it is said that marriage brings eternal happiness& bliss but that's just BS so lawyers, The Church and insurance companies could earn more sweet $$$
I agree with Anon207's analysis of Carolina and Santiago; it jives with her statement that she was very young when Lola was born. I'm guessing that Santiago ended up having to work full time when that happened so he could support a family. They did alright, so had Nicolas two years later. I still think that he possibly knocked her up with Benjamin to clip her wings, but Benjamin could also be Damian's. That would make Damian an idiot as well as a cad.
Nina is also right that Miriam probably never wanted Damian to be with anybody. I can only imagine how she might have spent Damian's teen years scaring away all his dates... and Raquel was the only one with the chutzpah to defy her by not running away.
Did Damian buy a "love nest" for Carolina? Is that where the missing money went? Considering that Damian was questioning Andres in the opening episode I don't know. Why would he draw attention to money he took himself? Andres is still my first suspect on this because he does nothing productive (unless you count spying for Miriam as productive).
BTW, I just looked it up and Paco Pizana and Francisco Pizana are the same person. That actor was Omar in Yago.
Not that this would matter to Miriam, who is determined to get rid of Raquel on any pretext.
Also another theory: Could Carolina have arranged the accident to get rid of Damian and recover her family or even more sinister: kill Damian to protect her family from extortion?
The only way Carolina & Damian could live their love happily ever after is to leave everyone behind because if they stay, they'll have to face the music and it will be a station they don't want to listen to.
The fact they were running away together to Miami, leaving everyone else behind shows me they valued their happiness & cookie sparkles more than they valued their families.
Caro left herself be open to Damian's attentions--perhaps the first man in 18 years who came on to her and she stepped inside the door of betrayal. It didn't take her long at all to respond to those attentions.
We see her three years ago struggling with "new(?)" feelings, but not backing away from them. Yes, they are both to blame for betraying their innocent spouses (well, we have to wait and see if the spouses are innocent--we've been given hints they knew, suspected, of felt betrayed.) In Damian/Raq's marriage, he was a great actor on the surface, putting on a public face of being the loving, attentive, supportive husband, so I do not blame Raq if she didn't know, or put any hints out of her mind.
BTW--OT, does anyone remember the 1980s movie Betrayal from the pen of Harold Pinter with Ben Kingsly, Jeremy Irons and Patricia Hodge? There are so many parallels with CET in the presentation--working backwards to the beginning of the affair and then why it fell apart. It was so well done. I wish it were available on DVD.
Jeremy Irons was in other dark obsessive movie “Damage.”
She probably figured they'd be ok without her.
I have ignored that she left a toddler behind. Thats some other form of depravity. Existential crisis is normal and ussually expected after a few decades of marriage but abandoning a toddler to run of to Miami with your lover is disgusting! I remember reading Henrik Ibsens novel Nora , a wife who in a strife of "freedom &prosperity" abandons her husband and children. She doesnt even take the kids with her!
If there were no adultery Carolina might have had this particular crisis, especially having married so young. However, something else is going on and I think she very much resents having lived without whatever she wanted all those years. No that this excuses her actions; she should have gotten a job as soon as the kids were old enough to leave alone at home to finish their homework after school.
