Caer en Tentacion #3, 10/18/17: Where in the world is Carolina Rivas?
Hi all! CET was shown at an earlier time on both the East and the West Coast last night, and it seems like the same will be happening tonight, if you miss the episodes you can catch them on-line,
Damian: the man who kind of deserves to be in a coma is still deep in a coma in the ICU.
Three years before, Carolina goes to visit Damian at his office. She's there because Santiago wants an advance for the job they are doing and Damian agrees to give her a check. Damian continues to cross the line and tells her that he was thinking about her and as proof he presents her with a gift; a cook book in which he has written a small dedication which reads " so that you can continue to spread your magic for many years to come"- then he offers to give her a lift back to his house so she can give Santiago the check.
On the ride back to his house Damian tells Carolina that he wishes they were going on a trip, "the four of us?" asks Carolina, "no, just you and me" replies the cheater in the making. "No the only way I could ever go on a trip with you is if Santiago and Raquel came with us" says Carolina, "that would be enough for me" says Damian as he looks at her and smiles, he's so into her that he fails to notice
when the traffic light changes.
The two arrive at the Becker's home and this is when Carolina reads the note that Damian claims to have written for her, Raquel and Santiago come back into the room and Raquel tells them that she has a project in mind for Carolina but won't tell anyone what she has in mind.
Later it is revealed that Raquel wants to start a catering business with Carolina but Santiago hates the idea, their finances are slowly improving and the kids need her at homeland that's where she should be. Ummmm, do Lola and Nicolas still need their diapers changed? Why would two teenagers still need to have mommy at home? So she can cut the crust off of their sandwiches?
Things for Santiago and Carolina are not going well, they are arguing about Santiago wanting to keep Carolina at home and in the kitchen, he says that he wants her all to himself which honestly is totally creepy, like kill my wife and keep her dead body in the basement creepy, things between the two are tense and get worse because Santiago not only finds the book Damian gave his wife but he also reads the note that's written on the inside of the book. Dude freaks out and Carolina lies and says she got the book as a gift from an old instructor. In the middle of all this Carolina and Damian are texting each other, she sends him a text and he tries to sneak off to read it only to be caught by his wife.
Raquel wants to know what's up with him and next thing we know she's calling Carolina, Caro makes Santiago lie and say that she's in the shower and that's when her lie is discovered. Raquel let's Santiago know that *she* was the one who purchased the book! What in the world you guys!!! Carolina then gets on the line and Raquel tells her that she was the one who bought the book AND the one that wrote the note! "You didn't think my husband bought the book for you did you? The only books he buys are about finance and business matters"- then she tells her that she wants her to be her partner in the catering business, Carolina tells her she will have an answer for her the following day.
Raquel hangs up the phone but she has an odd look on her face, and really patio peeps this makes no sense, why would Damian take credit for the book when he knew that Raquel could at any moment ask Carolina about it? Did Raquel really buy the book or was she starting to suspect that something was going on between her husband and Carolina?
The book snafu was enough for Carolina to ask Damian to stay away from her and to please stop texting her, she wasn't upset that he was crossing the line, she was upset that the gift came from Raquel and not Damian.
Also of interest, there's a few flashbacks with Andres that I think are important, the first has Andres and Damian arguing, Andres is upset because Damian ordered an audit on the companies financials, Damian tells him that the numbers are not adding up and that's why he asked for the audit, also the financial reports were preparedly an ex girlfriend of Andres so the numbers are not reliable, Andres argues that because the numbers were prepared by a scorned woman they ARE reliable. Uh, wha?
Then, there's another flashback where Damian's assistant asks Andres to sign a blank check for Raquel, Andres wonders why Raquel would need him to sign a blank check when she could go straight to Damian, the assistant says that Raquel wants to purchase a gift for Damian and wants it to be a surprise, if he signs the check he'll know she's up to something and the surprise will be ruined- Andres does not buy. that at ALL. Was Raquel buying a simple gift or is something more sinister going on?
In the present Nicolas wants to know if Lola ever suspected that something was going on between their mother and Damian, Lola says no, but she believes that Andres might of had something to do with the accident. You guys remember that Lola's classmate suggested that Lola sleep with a rich guy to earn money for her trip, right? Well the dummy went along with this plan- that's how she first meets Andres, she freaks out before things go to far and runs away, sadly for Lola Andres has a Facebook account and sees a picture of her and her mom on Raquel's profile, so he finds her information and shows up at her house. He tells her that he will not be made to look like a fool, he invested a lot of time and effort into her and he's going to get his money's worth. When Lola tells him she will tell her parents he replies "No you won't". See, nothing good ever comes from being a baby prostitute. There's also a story line that has her gym teacher checking up on her because he is worried that she's in trouble.
In other news, Mia is into cutting herself and so is her new friend, well, at least they can bond over that.
We are also introduced to Cynthia, Raquel's younger sister who has a substance abuse problem and has been out of rehab for a few short months, she's also just broken up with her boyfriend and because she as nowhere else to stay Raquel is forced to let her stay in her home.
Finally, Laura Garcia, the wife of lead detective Fernando Godoy and a reporter for a local news station breaks the news to the public that Carolina was the woman in the car with Damian Becker, then she gets an inside tip that Carolina has been found. The media rushes to the police station where it is said that Carolina is and Santiago also runs there, we get a brief look at the woman at the station from the rear, but is it Carolina?
My DVR cut off there because the show started late and ran late, I'll try and watch the last few minutes in the morning, until then patio peeps!
Post Script: Mia is at the hospital talking to her comatose father in the ICU. She excitedly tells him that Carolina has appeared. Carolina is alive. She repeats it and his eyes open wide and Mia flies out of the room saying her dad has come back. There is a flurry of activity among the doctors.

I am totally confused as to who really did purchase the book. Raquel's senses appear to be razor sharp and if she had no real clue what was going on before last night, she certainly does now.
Damian is making almost no effort to hide his enthusiasm for Caro. His enthusiasm is making him careless. Was Cynthia in love with Damian? When she visited Damian in the hospital, it certainly appeared so.
Well, all they had to do was mention Caro's name for Damian to snap out of it...
Santiago's actions are draining Caro of her life and vitality. There is little appealing about him.
Andres is disgusting.
Fernando and Laura look like the couple Caro and Santi might have ended up being had all hell not broken loose.
I forget who mentioned yesterday that you have to follow every episode carefully. I can see why!
At first, I thought Caro may have been disfigured, but then I remember we did see shots of her after the accident and she did not appear to be facially scarred.
Could it be someone else?

I think when she mentioned that, Mr. Cool'n Drool told her he didn't car and just stared at her--traffic kept going around them. Goose bumps, anyone? They cut to the next scene of them arriving at the house. Grrr. --Makes me think there are degrees of goosebumps--and varieties. Dunno if I'd like that or be truly uncomfortable with that guy giving me the eyeball and telling me those things. --Andres and Dam definitely share a gene pool.

Gracias, Juju. Definite "touche" on the comment about Nico and Lola's diapers. Still no conclusion on whether Santiago knocked up Carolina to clip her wings again or whether Benjamin is Damian's, but we need more time and more data. You'd think that Damian would be careful about such things.
Diana, that warning was mine. Except for Raquel's hair I haven't seen anything else that differentiates the characters' looks between the past and the present, particularly since there is only a three-year difference.
I'm now seeing the possible reason why Jorge Salinas wasn't cast in this series. GS and CF are closer in age and are essentially the same physical type. That has a meaning somewhere, such as Damian possibly being just a little more evolved.
I don't like Cinthia right out of the starting gate and we already knew that Andres is the scum of the earth. I think we can safely assume that the sale of Raquel's parents' house paid for Cinthia's rehab.
Miriam's objections to Raquel are obviously motivated by her own obsession with keeping him to herself and she seizes upon any excuse to criticize Raquel. Does she possibly think of her as low-class because of Cinthia's drug issues or is it about how Raquel presents herself? This latest thing about criticizing her absence at the hospital shows a real lack of understanding that Raquel has two kids and a responsible job and that she just discovered that her husband had been cheating on her with her friend. That's heavy stuff.

Wow..we are moving fast. Andres is creepy, and I have never seen Silvia portray a character quite this BSC. Plenty of characters to dislike in this one!

The thing with the gym teacher calling up Lola is so creepy. Like how would he know her cell phone number and why is her overly worried that she wasn't in class. Doesn't the school have an attendance office that takes care of abscenes and kids who ditch class?

Raquel subconciously knows something shady is going on between Damian & Carolina; that's why she was marking her territory with glomming all over Damian, kissing Damian in front of Carolina and confronting Carolina about the book.

Right about what that house sale amount went for! Too tuckered to connect all the dots like that. I had the same thought that Raq is marking territory. Somehow she must have gotten too comfortable along the line and blinded herself to the truth. Same with Santi. Don't know if I can buy that line of reasoning unless there's a psych terminology for something like that....Interesting the apparent history between Andres and Sintia, not to mention Damian and Sintia--apparently. Perhaps a crush on Dam and abuse by

Damian doesn't strike me as having been a controlling husband. I doubt he'd deny Raquel a request for some money for the house, herself, or the kids.

Thanks, Juju. For me, the highlight last night was Raquel calling Carolina. (as well as was her hanging all over Damián)
Damian would never deny Raquel any money, but she shouldn’t have to depend on him for money or ask him for money (or ask Andres to sign checks for her). She’s pretty much in the same position as Caro.
If he left Raquel permanently for Caro & was a vindictive man, he could leave her high and dry.

Before I forget, I agree with keeping an eye out for clues. I noticed something in the second episode. When Raquel was told that Damian was in the hospital. When she opened the door she was running with a suitcase towards it, that's why she was startled when she opened door for Jovita.

Jardinera, ITA that Raq was indeed marking her territory! As Jarifa, noted, she was all over Dam, practically mauling him in a very possessive manner.

I'm trying to understand why Damian and Carolina running off together is TMZ worthy, unless Damian is some big huge star in Mexico. He & Raquel have a nice, affluent, comfortable life but it doesn't look like they're Eladio Gomez Luna rich. I'm trying to understand why Laura is so invested in their story. Plenty of people get cheated on every day, so why is Laura attaching herself to this particular story? She needs to work that out with Godoy* instead of trying to create news.
I don't think Raquel actively knew at the time she was marking her territory or keeping Carolina close. But after she begins to process the past 3 years, Raquel will realize she knew all along that Carolina & Damian were an item.

Princess Juju--You came out of the Gran Estreno gate at a gallop. This was a fast-moving episode with more back-fill than front-fill.
Damian is too smooth. This is the type of situation where a decent guy would NOT make any moves on a woman after he learns she's married and is the wife of someone he and his wife get to know and the children seem to get along----UNLESS she made it clear that things between her husband and herself had deteriorated to the point of her leaving him. She's vulnerable to the attentions of a good looking guy, but so far, this is not the case. She is unhappy staying home, probably because Lola and Nicco DON'T need their diapers changed any more) but not enough to leave a husband she clearly loves.
Damian is supposed to come across as a successful guy, used to interacting with men and women in his business (suppliers, staff, test cooks, etc.), still in love with his wife and proud of his two children (with whom he doesn't interact much so far (although he acknowledges his changing their schools was not good for Mia).
The guy lost no time showing us he has a roving eye, but, again, a decent man would have stopped there and enjoyed the view. He very seductively went after her.

PJuju--You didn't miss much. The scene you left out is in the present with Mia talking to her comatose father in the ICU and she tells him that Carolina is alive. She repeats it and his eyes open wide and Mia flies out of the room saying her dad has come back. There is a flurry of activity among the doctors. If anyone remembers anything else, add it to the comments and I'll post it on the front page.

I believe adultery is much easier today than imagined People don't actually 'date' anymore, they have one night stands. Or they're just sexting as it lowers the risk of getting pregnant as a teenager(If you ignore the creeps and predators that prey on young people eg Andy) In a world of Pornhub, Snapchat, Fiverr why would people bet it all on one person they believe is eternal?

Bad news do bring ratings and they don't seem to be an international news station. If it get's the folk speculating, spitting and judging they've won. But either-way if they wanted better ratings they should livestream a war or play the Weather Channel 24/7 with a topless hot chick doing a strip tease. That's culture.

Yeah thats true. I remember some couples though that allowed mistresses but they had to know about it and they had to be used only for utilitarian purposes ( For either money, to advance ambitions or to have a more diverse sex life. ) Most recent to me would be Frank Underwood.
