Mi marido tiene familia Monday 11/27/17 Capítulo 67: A Day at the Hospital

Robert comes into Imelda’s room and asks Tulio what he is doing there. Robert threatens him with security if he does not leave. Tulio leaves after telling Imelda how strong she is, how much he loves her and how much the family needs her. Robert then sits with Imelda telling her how much she is loved and how much he needs her joy, advice and her compliments, too. Imelda can only moan and talk about being ready to go. Robert says she cannot go. They have to go on together. Robert looks stricken and keeps talking to her. He will be by her side as she recuperates.

Amalia is at the apartment building waiting with Enzo for everyone to get back from the hospital. She won’t go there because hospitals depress her. Enzo tells her now is the time to prove to herself that she can live on her own and that she doesn’t have to be tied to anyone. Amalia shakes her head. Enzo kisses her on the cheek before he leaves.

Belén gets a call from Blanca telling her about Imelda. Belén asks how Amalia is doing. Blanca has forgotten all about her so she asks Marisol if she has seen her. Marisol hasn’t. Blanca will call Belén back. Daniela tells Blanca about Amalia staying out with her dance/voice teacher Enzo. When Blanca hears that she is aggravated that Dankela just left her like that. Linda says that they cannot control what she does. Blanca says Amalia is a little girl I’m an adult woman’s body. She is an innocent and chaste. Blanca forgot lol about her with Imelda’s emergency. She needs the girls to look for her. Linda says Amalia can look for them. Blanca tries calling Amalia but just gets voice mail. She hopes nothing bad happened to her. Ana and Tulio arrive. There is silence. Eugenio is takes one look at them and goess to stand with Blanca.

Amalia is surprised to see Javi Galán making pan(it rhymes) (bread). She would have expected him to be in a mansion being waited on. He makes it clear that he is no longer living that lifestyle. She tells him what a big fan of his Marisol is. She then tells him of her dream of being a singer. He asks what does she want. Look at him he was on top and now he is here. Amalia wants to be famous. Xavi asks if she wants the truth about being famous. Yes, she does. He tells her that in the end, you just feel empty. It is not about fame. If she wants to sing, she has to do it because it makes her happy. They sing a duet. They end up on the roof with the piano. She has very little time to go before the contest so she will take any kind of suggestions or critiques he can give her. The first thing he tells her is that if she is going to be a star she has to change her attitude and act like a star. He can see the insecurity in her eyes. He lends her his sunglasses. They practice posing.

Aristóteles, in tears, comes clean with Diana and tells her about having stolen the test questions. He is doing it for his grandmother. She told him to tell the truth. Romina overhears him also and says she knew it. He, also, stole her place on the honor roll and he has to be punished. Frida asks what happened so he tells her he is just a liar And cheated on the test. After talking to the school principal, she lectures him, suspends him and wants to speak to his parents. He is worried they are going to expell him from the school. Aristóteles is forced to do a walk of shame as he leaves and kids laugh and pint at him..

Hugo arrives at the shop. Belén leaves him in charge as she goes out looking for Amalia.

Julieta chats with Luz at work about how Imelda is doing and how unexpectedly emotional things have been lately. Then there is Dave a boy from the foundation Robert works for. He is a real charmer and she cannot get him out of her head. He touched her heart. He is waiting to be adopted and she wants to support him, but she doesn’t know how. Luz suggests she already knows what to do in reference to Dave. It is an option she should consider. Julieta knows, too, but with all she and Robert have been through with the miscarriage, etc., they have not talked about children again. A phone call telling Juleta that her father is there to see her ends that conversation. Hugo Sr. has come to talk to Julieta after all that went on at her place. He knows that she did not know that her mother was going to come. Sometimes people arrive unexpectedly, like him. Julieta wants to know why he went over to Catalina’s place. He just went so they could get a non-aggression agreement between. Julieta wants to know why Hugo Sr. returned anyway. For good or bad her mother was always there with them. He explains that there comes a time in life when one reflects on all the mistakes one has made. He was wrong a lot. He wants to change. Now he wants to help her brothers and her.

Belén goes to see Enzo about Amalia. He tells her that she can’t keep seeing Amalia as an incapable child. What is happening right now is going to be the best for her. Amalia has to grow. Belén is feeling bad having asked her to leave her home. He insists that Amalia will only feel secure when she knows she can love her life on her own.

Amalia is telling Xavi what a great manager Marisol is going to be. He says that Marisol is a very special person in his life. Just at that moment, Daniela and Marisol arrive on the roof. They all soon understand that nobody could reach Amalia because her cell phone is in her luggage locked up in the apartment she cannot get in. Amalia asks how Imelda is. Marisol tells her about the complications with the surgery and how they are going to be going back to the hospital.

Robert is still begging Imelda not to leave him as the family watches through the glass of her room in the ICU. Imelda finally awakens and sees them all as they talk to her through the glass. Imelda sounds like she is still ready to let go and does not want them to suffer. She has already lived her life and wants them to all be happy. A nurse comes by to disperse the crowd and little by little they go leaving Imelda alone with Robert.

Gabriel goes to see his father Augusto. He has Gabriel sit down. Gabriel says he has always been afraid that he is going to lose whatever Augusto has given him. Augusto says he is like he is with Gabriel because if he doesn’t pressure him, he does nothing. Because of that fear he opened a new restaurant. Gabriel doesn’t want to live with fear. What good is accumulations things if in the end he is not going to be happy. Augusto suspects that all of these ideas must have come from ”that” waitress. Gabriel denies that and take full credit for them. He doesn’t want to be a copy of his father. Augusto wants to know if Gabriel wants to be a dreamer thinking that you can live off of love. Why does Gabriel insists on being a failure? Gabriel wants to know why his decisions to end up being a failure. Augusto cannot believe that Daniela comes from parents who are bakers. What is she going to ever know about their world? Is Gabriel going to have children whose only aspiration is going to be to live one day at a time? No, Augusto cannot see that. Augusto reminds him that he did not pay for him to go to the university to be mediocre. Gabriel thinks that he has shown himself to be no fool. When he puts his mind to something, he does it and excels. His father reminds him that he has achieved nothing on his own. Augusto has put it all on a silver platter for him. Gabriel sees himself having been managed like a puppet his whole life and it is his fault for paying attention to his father and obeying him his whole life. He is not going to live for his father. Augusto tells him that he knows that he needs him. What is he going to do with the restaurant? He does remember that it does belong to him (Augusto)? Gabriel nods. Augusto goes on. If Gabriel leaves the restaurant, he has nothing else to do with his life.
He also will be leaving all of those employees without a job including that Daniela. Gabriel insists that he would never do anything that might affect Daniela because she uncovered his eyes and now he can see and get to know . . . Augusto has heard enough and reminds Gabriel that this is not a telenovela and the world does not work like that. Well, it should counters Gabriel. He adds that he really does not want to be near his dad and turns to leave.

Romina is hounding Aristóteles and wants to know if they threw him out. They throw barbs back and forth and thankfully, Diana catches Romina in action and tells her she is going to need to talk to her parents ASAP.

Still at the hospital, Tulio tells Ana about getting Imelda to sign the form. He did it as insurance in case Imelda dies so the family does not end up with what is owed to them. Even Ana is shocked. Later, Tulio talks to Audifaz about the position he is offering him. He tells him to get himself put together correctly and to come by his house tomorrow morning. If not, he will give the job to somebody else. Audifaz wonders why Tulio wants him to change. It is as if they were all actors playing their roles on the stage of life.

Bruno runs into Linda and asks how Imelda is doing. Linda wants to know why he kissed her. She thinks it was just because he saw how sad she was. He has brought her a bouquet of flowers. Linda wants to know what’s going on with them. She insists that he tell her. They both like each other. They go into Julieta’s apartment. They start kissing and their romance is back on track but nobody can know.

Amalia is at the apartment but can’t cook either so Marisol takes over making quesadillas for Frida, Amalia and Daniela. Amalia wants to find out who the flowers are from when Linda walks in but Linda is not talking. when she gets to her room, Linda has gotten a text message from Bruno. He doesn’t just like her, he likes her a lot. She is overjoyed to say the least and squeals in her joy.

Ana talks with Blanca about her failed marriage to Tulio and how she should have gotten a divorce. Blanca tells her she is never alone and always has a family with them. After Blanca leaves, Eugenio addresses Ana saying he has no idea what she is doing there. Ana professes to have so much love for the family. Eugenio does not see that as being possible with how she hurt them. Ana tells him not to judge her. Eugenio informs her that nobody has told Blanca about her abducting Juan Pablo and he wants to keep it that way. He does not want Blanca to be hurt. Blanca overhears Eugenio’s tone of voice with Ana and comes back asking him what is going on for him to address Ana with such hatred. Eugenio says it all has to do with Tulio and the money. Blanca says that has nothing to do with Ana who has been so good to them.

Hugo Sr. gets the grand tour at work with Julieta. Julieta fills him in on her relationship with Robert and how she broke up with him because she was afraid he was going to leave her and then there was the war with his family. Hugo Sr. reminds her that those were the two things she lived through at home when she was growing up. Talking with him is useful to Julieta because she does it want to repeat the same story. Now she has an announcement to share: shenis going to propose to Robert.

Audifaz tells, Eugenio about the job Tulio is offering him. Eugenio warns him that he knows how Tulio is and not let himself be mistreated by him. Audifaz really needs the money and doesn’t like hunger. What can he do? Keep taking things from Eugenio’s house? He has to do something for his family. Tulio asked him to cut his hair. Eugenio says that hair can grow back but their are things that don’t have solution, like envy, for example. Audifaz is so upset about Imelda and is preparing himself for her death.. He breaks down in Eugenio’s arms. Eugenio always takes care of him.

Frida offers her support to Aristóteles. Aristóteles was trying to get Robert on his phone for advice but now realizes he must be with Imelda.

In the hospital chapel, Blanca and Polita pray. Ana sees them but does not come into the chapel and Polita criticizes her to Blanca. Blanca tells her not to talk badly about Ana and to concentrate so that her prayers get to heaven. At the same time, Ana is left alone and in tears with memories of Imelda treating her like a daughter and loving her as a daughter. She loves Imelda so much. She begs God to not let Imelda die.

Julieta’s conversation continues with Hugo Sr. She thanks him for wanting to rectify his mistakes. She has hope For a relationship with him because from the little she has seen he has a great heart. He knows he didn’t have what it took to be a father, so the least he can do now is try be a support for all of his kids. They talk about the importance of living without fear. He suggest she doesn’t waste time in marrying Robert. Julieta says she is going to live without fear. Julieta asks if she can get her mother to allow him to come to the wedding, would he? Nothing would make him happier. Hugo Sr. Tells her that he never wanted to be apart from her. Today he understands the treasure he lost when he decided to move on.

Gabriel asks his manager and another employee if he had to leave the restaurant, would they follow him to a new project. One says yea,and they are ready to talk more when Cassandra and Clarissa barge in. He asks the guys for a moment with his step-sisters.
They seem to be there to reinforce Augusto’s message. They tell him how extremely angry Augusto is. Gabriel says that he already had the “displeasure” of talking with him. They tell him to think things over carefully. Gabriel cannot let them take away his restaurant, his apartment and his car. He should not fool himself. He is used to living with all of Amazon’s niceties. Gabriel says he was born handsome and and he knows how to live well. He has a career. He can support himself. Why don’t they do something? It has just occurred to him that they are spinsters because they are so unbearable.

Robert has good news. Imelda is stable. They can all go home and rest. Robert will stay with her. Ana watches them all from afar.

Too much Amalia for me this episode along with goofball Bruno and squealy Linda.

I always like Julieta’s conversations with Luz.

I wonder if Augusto will pull the economic rug out from under Gabriel.

Splendid Jarifa.

"Ana and Tulio arrive. There is silence" and "I wonder if Augusto will pull the economic rug out from under Gabriel" were my favorite observations of many.

"Luz suggests she already knows what to do in reference to Dave". Leave it to the lovely Luz to be so insightful as to what her friend has in her mind and heart.

"Blanca says Amalia is a little girl in an adult woman’s body". After I read that, I realized how true that is! She is selfish, self absorbed but still has the capacity to care. I had hoped she and Xavi would sing more. I hope they can make this character a bit loveable.

"His father reminds him that he has achieved nothing on his own. Augusto has put it all on a silver platter for him" is undeniable. And while I adore Gabi, the stark reality is that I don't see him being able to function in the real world. Alone. He needs Dani to guide him. I suspect his family will need him more than he needs them before this is over.

"she is going to propose to Robert". Can't wait!!

I feel compelled to comment on Ana and Tulio (will they EVER go away??). Tulio has pure hate in his heart. And although it does seem that Ana does care for Imelda, there is no forgiveness. From me at least.

I enjoyed the strong family ties evidenced by Audi and Eugenio - the latter the strong, supportive brother. I like Julieta's burgeoning relationship with her father "Today he understands the treasure he lost when he decided to move on". I hope he keeps that in mind.

Thank you Jarifa! You've made my day.

Diana

Jarifa, amazingly detailed recap! Thank you!!

Too much Amala...Ditto!! but " Enzo tells her now is the time to prove to herself that she can live on her own and that she doesn’t have to be tied to anyone." She hasn't listened to anyone else, hopeofully she'll listen to the man she admires and is interested in.

I was so proud of Aris for doing the right thing. He showed much strength and character in revealing his wrongdoing to Diana. THough he did wrong, I felt so basly for him as "Aristóteles is forced to do a walk of shame as he leaves and kids laugh and pint at him."

"Augusto has put it all on a silver platter for him" Yes, he has, but as Gabriel indicated, dani opened his eyes. He boosted the restaurant enough to merit a better location, so I think Gabi has enough confidence and skill to make it on his own...with Dani's continued support.

Diana, "I enjoyed the strong family ties evidenced by Audi and Eugenio - the latter the strong, supportive brother." That was so nice to see...at least the two brothers have been there for each other. And..."she is going to propose to Robert". Can't wait!!" Me too!!

Typing too fast! Though he did wrong, I felt so baDly...for Aris

Jarifa: Goofball Bruno is just about right.

Rgv Chick, thank you for mentioning Ari!

Yes, I admire him for fessing up. He is a great kid!

I am cringing at the many humiliations Tulio likely has lined up for poor Audi when he starts his new "job". Audi is such a gentle soul, I hate that Tulio might hurt his heart.

Diana

Thanks, Diana. I am right there with you in reference to Ana. I do pity her because I think she is mentally ill but cannot forgive her for the irreparable and endless harm she has caused so many members of the family. Another one who needs help is Audifaz. It is too bad that he has let himself get to a point where employment by Tulio seems to be a viable option. Anyway, I am looking forward to the proposal. That means a wedding soon? Maybe we will not have to wait until the end. Yay!

RgvChick, thanks! Since I was talking about Ana and Audifaz needing help, I will add Amalia to the list. If her character is supposed to be funny, the humor is lost on me. She is dysfunctional. Linda finally said something worthwhile last night when she asked Blanca why could not Amalia look for them rather than them having to go looking for her. Hmmm. . . Why indeed?

Yes, Aristóteles really showed some real character in confessing and clearly has learned from the situation.

Steve, there is no shortage of goof balls in this one.

Thanks Jarifa!!!

I think Gabi can stand on his own two feet and I think he has the confidence to do so. His love for Dani has given him a strength that maybe he didn't know he had. Seeing her independence has inspired him to take the step I think he always wanted to take, leave the family business.

I'm still hoping Ana saves the family from Tulio. She does love the family in her own crazy way.

Glad Ari did the right thing and now he will face the consequences. I'm more worried about poor Audi. He is one pathetic character. Tulio is going to eat him alive.

Bruno and Linda--could care less.

Amalia is pathetic too and now living with Blance means we see more of her. Boo

Luz always gives Juli great advice. Looking forward to how Juli proposes to Rob.

Wonderful recap, Jarifa! Xavi has some more wise advice, this time to Amalia. He has learned something from his experiences. I hope Ari doesn't get expelled. After all, he did the brave and right thing in telling the truth about stealing the answers. After-school study hall for a semester would be my suggested punishment. Gabi is acquiring a bit of wisdom too and "stepsisters" picks up nicely on the "Cinderfella" theme.

Thanks Jarifa!

I really like this telenovela. It seems that most of the people are with, or are trying to be with, good matches. Often it's a matter of he loves she who loves someone else who loves yet another person.

Gabi is doing well, but I fear for poor Audifaz. As for Tulio, the best thing he could do for everyone, including himself, is throw himself under a bus.

.Andy, “ As for Tulio, the best thing he could do for everyone, including himself, is throw himself under a bus.” Yes, please!!

You’re welcome, Carvivlie. I fear, as you, that Tulio will destroy Audifaz. I also wonder what Audifaz’s story is that he has never been able to support his family financially.

SpanProf, thanks. ITA that Aristóteles deserves a punishment less than expulsion. Your suggestion would fit the bill.

Andy, you’re welcome. All I can say is get me a seat at the “Here’s hoping Tulio throws himself under a bus” table. Love it!

Words of wisdom from Andy. Let's hope Tulio acts on them!

Andy, there's not much room but I'm squeezing in at your "throw Tulio under the bus" table Andy.

Tulio is so pure evil I really don't anything short of death will stop him.

Diana

Thanks a bunch, Jarifa.

Welcome, Andy. I don't think I've met you here before. I'm joining the "Tulio under the bus" table. He is so mean. Bad enough he's getting even with Imelda, but poor Audifaz has never done anything to harm Tulio and he's so cruel to him.

Yay, Julieta will propose.

I wonder how many weddings there will end up being in this tn--I can think of 3 or 4.

You’re welcome, Niecie. I am ready for some happiness in the story.

SoanProf, it will be interesting tomsee who will get married by the end. 3or 4 is a good guess.

Jarifa - Thank you for the recap!

I'm not sure what is going on with either my cable provider-and-Univision, or local Univision affiliate, but for the past week or so, the sound blips out every 10 to 11 seconds, throughout the entire show. Um, yes, I finally timed it. Ack. It sounds like something/someone is being censored. Entire words go missing because sound is gone for a full second. In last night's episode, something Julieta was saying just kept repeating, like a bad tape going, "bu- bu- bu- bu- bu-".
So recaps really help literally fill in the missing stuff. Oh the joys of living in what is probably a second-tier area for Univision. Well, okay, enough of that rant. lol

I saw Manuel Landeta in Morir Dos Veces and he was a creepy slimy character in that one, too. I hope Gabriel goes out on his own and is a roaring success.

Aris did the right thing by coming clean. I hope the consequences won't be too harsh since it is a "first offense."

The look on Marisol's face when she found Xavi and Amalia on the rooftop made me imagine a thought bubble above her head that said --- "Roba novio!"

doris, sorry to hear that you are having cable problems. They are a pain and nobody ever seems to know anything. . I like your “Roba novio” thought bubble. With Amalia being another goof ball, how would Marisol know what she is up to?
