Mi marido tiene familia Wednesday 12/12/17 Capítulo 83: Uncertainty and Resolution

An exasperated Julieta tells Luz about the misadventure with the social worker. Luz tells her not to get ahead of herself with the situation. Luz is sure they will realize what great people she and Robert are. Julieta asks Luz to set up a meeting with Aristóteles’ parents.

Gabriel is feeding Marissa when the doorbell rings. It is a very upset Daniela. She tells him that his dad told her everything and she needs to talk to him. When she comes in, she readily picks up and pets Marissa. She is not afraid of rats but is afraid of other things. Why is he living with a rat and why did he not tell her his father had kicked him out? Gabriel said he did not want to worry her. He wanted to solve the problems in his life by himself. She asks if he is solving his problems with lies. He lied to her about going to see that girl in the restaurant. He tries to explain but she is not having it. If she had not showed up, she never would have found out. He should have told her. She no longer trusts him. He wants to invest all of his money in the carpentry business when he doesn’t even have enough to live on as he is accustomed to.

Marisol discusses the video and costuming with Xavi. It will take place in the street and involve the people in their neighborhood. She also tells him that Frida wants to see her dad and she will not stand in her way. Frida’s father Ignacio just angers her because after all he has done he just waltzes in like nothing ever happened.

Gabriel apologizes for lying but did it all would not worry Daniela. She sees that his family is manipulating him. They obtained their objective because she discovered Gabriel was with the other girl. She feels hurt and amd angry with him. Gabriel says it was not his intention. Gabriel says he never should have lied but now they are a couple. Daniela doubts that with each of them always going their own separate way. When she finds out that he is staying with an old acquainted called “Sam” she loses it. Is Sam just an acquaintance or is she somebody he had something to do with in the past? She is not waiting for his answer because it is just one more thing he worked hard on to hide. Gabriel says he did’t know what to do. Well, Daniela doesn’t want herself to be a problem in his life and she does not want himto be a problem in hers. She cannot concentrate, she wants to cry, she feels guilty, she just does not know . . .She tells him to think about their situation. She will be thinking about it, too.

Robert talks to Carmelo the orphanage director about the surprise visit from the social worker. Carmelo did not know they were coming but that is how they usually do it: unannounced. Robert is worried.

Robert talks with his adoptive parents about adopting again. Robert wants some dates they are available to visit him. He wants them to get to know his family and for his family to get to know them.

Gabriel goes to see his family and levels with them. He feels that they do not love him. He can live without all three of them. He has nothing left and they better not think about coming after his car because that he paid for himself. They also had better not think about bothering Daniela, because if they do he can sue them. Gabriel leaves.

Robert talks to Imelda and Eugenio. He remembers that one time she had said that Ana and Tulio should have adopted a child. Yes, she did because it would have solved their problem. He then asks if she would have accepted that child. Of course she would have. Any child is a blessing. If they had adopted, maybe Ana would not have done something so crazy.

Julieta talks to Polita about Aristóteles working as a model. Audifaz is sorry he is late for the meeting but he had to go with Tulio to the emergency room where they brought Ana. She has been taking pills for depression and has not been eating so she is suffering from a serious case of malnutrition. They think that she could get worse.

The three sisters are walking along the beach and chatting. They decide to go dancing on the beach at an open air bar. Soon some guys are inviting them to dance while another one steals their handbags.

Julieta is met outside of her apartment by Linda who informs her that she is accepting all of the requirements that Julieta gave her to be Bruno’s girlfriend.

Julieta tells Robert the latest news: Ana in in the hospital for addiction to her depression medication and is also suffering from malnutrition from not eating. Robert wants to go see her before it is too late. In spite of the whole mess with Tulio and Ana, Robert wants to help her as much as he can. Robert and Julieta are both nervous about the Dave adoption situation.

Linda returns with all of Julieta’s conditions signed. Julieta says she can start doing her chores tomorrow.

Linda and Daniela discuss their love lives. Daniela tells Linda that she is going to suffer for agreeing to do all of those things to get Bruno. Daniela does not want Gabriel to suffer because of her. She believes that when one is truly in love, they just want to see the other person happy. Gabriel is just not who he was before. Daniela cannot just keep going out with him like that.

Gabriel is having a problem with Marissa having taken up residence in one of his shoes and eating it.

Bruno confronts Julieta about what she is asking Linda to do. He is not pleased. Julieta says she is giving Linda a dose of her own medicine. Bruno also lets it drop that the social worker wanted to talk to him, so, he did but he is not telling Julieta what was said.

As the sisters are still dancing, Eugenio gets a phone call from the thief who stole the sisters’ handbags telling him that Blanca has been kidnapoed and he is demanding 500,000 pesos (about $26,000)for her return.

At the beach, the sisters are arrested for not being able to pay their drink tab since their handbags are gone with their cash and credit cards.

Later back at the apartment, Julieta seems to think the call is part of an extortion phone scam. There have been plenty of situations like Blanca’s.

Audifaz comes over with money to help pay the ransom. He will talk to Tulio about a loan. No, Eugenio does not want that. Imelda asks how Ana is doing. She is better now and stable. They pumped her stomach and are going to be giving her saline solution. Imelda hope that Ana gets better.

Julieta is trying to track down what hotel the sisters might be staying at. It is so strange that the man who called talks only about Blanca and not all three of the sisters. Julieta wants to call the police. Robert is reluctant to do in case somebody really has his mother. He won’t do anything until he hears Blanca’s voice.

Gabriel calls Daniela. She is crying: they kidnapped her mother. Gabriel is on his way.

Eugenio keeps trying to call Blanca with no results so he prays to the Virgin de Guadalupe to help Blanca. He cannot live without Blanca.

The next morning they get a call from the kidnapper who will send them the routing/account number so they can deposit their payment. Robert makes the comment that it would be really easy to trace that activity. Blanca calls Eugenio from the jail and finally gets through when his phone is not busy trying to call her. He doesn’t miss this chance to tell Blanca how much he loves her.

Eugenio tells the family what happened: Blanca’s handbag was stolen from a beach bar. Imelda says “beach bar”in an accusatory tone and the whole family turns on her so she quickly takes it back. Robert reminds them that the important thing is how they all came together as a family.

The sisters have been sprung from jail and Blanca is thinking about Eugenio and his reaction to thinking she was kidnapped. The sisters all agree that he never would have had that reaction if she had never left home in the first place.

Daniela and Gabriel are talking in the shop. She is not angry. She has come to a decision about his happiness. It is best if they break up. He needs his father. She does not want to be responsible for him losing his family. He says he is leaving it all for the two of them. She sees that as the problem: he is leaving everything. He asks her not to do this. She asks that he not come looking for her. She leaves him alone in the shop.

Blanca thinks back on her marriage to Eugenio while at the beach. Suddenly he appears and they hug each other. He talks about his shortcomings and how he felt when he heard she was kidnapped. He wanted whatever terrible thing was happening to her to be happening to him. He wants to fight to be the man that she deserves. He loves the old Blanca but he is going to love the new Blanca even more. He gets down on one knee and begs her to forgive him. She answers him with a kiss.

Julieta gets a call from the orphanage. She tells Robert that they need to see both of them because they have reached a decision.

I am sorry that the sisters’ beach vacation was as short as it was.

More later.

Good Morning!

Thanks, Jarifa, for such an excellent recap! Yes, it's too bad the vacation was cut short, but I was glad that Dani shared her anguish with Gabi; though it wasn't long before she broke his heart. I understand Dani's argument, but she should also understand that Gabi's troubles will bring on some anguish and changes in personality, but those won't necessarily be permanent or change who he is. It is his choice to be with her that is most important; and she should support him and try to get him through it instead of calling it quits...IMO.

More later...

Buenos Dias.

RVG Chick: The Buji Mussi family just won: busting up Dani & Gabriel.

Advantage: Daddy Mussi.

Rgv, ITA that if Dani runs she is missing a prime opportunity to see if their relationship has long term possibilities.

Steve, yes, the villains have the upper hand for now but I do not think it will be for long. This is a rather optimistic novela. Maybe Marissa can be the “flower girl” or “ring bearer” rat if Gabriel and Dani end up getting married.

Jarifa, "Maybe Marissa can be the “flower girl” or “ring bearer” rat if Gabriel and Dani end up getting married" Now that would be just too cool! LOL

Thanks Jarifa!

So glad the kidnapping scheme unraveled before the money was paid.

Rob is such a good guy wanting to go see Ana. Tulio take notice!

If Bruno told the social worker what he told Linda about Juli taking care of him growing up all should be fine.

Gabi has now lost everything with Dani breaking up with him. His family won the battle but lost the war because I don't see Gabi going back to them.

This is an opportunity for Gabi to show what's he made of and stand on his own two feet and win Dani back.

Carvivlie, so right about Bruno. In spite of their everyday sparring, I think he told the social worker the truth.

Thanks Jarifa for an excellent recap. I always miss some things in the dialog so these recaps help me follow things much better.

I loved your comment, "Maybe Marissa can be the “flower girl” or “ring bearer” rat..." That was a great start to the day!

Fun to see Dani just pick up and pet Marissa. Also great fun to see her (Dani, not the rat) in a dress! Cute, cute, cute!

I do think she's being too hard on Gabriel.

Jarifa, thank you for explaining so much I did not understand and for doing it splendidly (as always).

I am always eager to read what you wrote.

"She does not want to be responsible for him losing his family". While I understand Dani does not want to bear the burden of guilt for fracturing a family, she is failing to realize that it is already torn. Not because of Gabe, but because his father insists on total control without any leeway for individual decisions. It is they who are losing the joy of getting to know Dani. Dani is hurt but to pull away from Gabi when he needs her most because of a small untruth seems unfair. Rgv Chick, we are totally on the same page here. There is nothing else he could have done and he should have been able to explain everything to her. "This is an opportunity for Gabi to show what's he made of and stand on his own two feet and win Dani back" - indeed Carvivlie, indeed!

"In spite of the whole mess with Tulio and Ana, Robert wants to help her as much as he can". Is there a kinder, more forgiving soul? My heart went out to him. God bless. And, in all fairness, I have to give Imelda a tiny bit of credit for her concern for Ana as well. To rise above the deepest, most painful cuts imaginable is truly noble.

I'm glad that Blanca was quickly "found". Eugenio now seems to have some clue as to what he came very close to losing. He has much more to atone for though.

After the unannounced visit fiasco, I can't quite see the adoption scenario going Julieta and Robert's way. I think these two are going to have to pull out all the stops and do something wildly creative to change the decision. I have total faith in them.

I'm liking Xavi more each time I see him. He really seems happy in the bakery and content and secure in his new little family.

I hope Ari is wildly successful and helps his family to life their lives with abundance, not poverty.

Jarifa, just grand. Thank you!

Diana

Excellent recap, Jarifa! Still traveling, but have been able to get Univision every night. I am now in Houston. The social worker's visit from Hell was hilarious. I just knew that Dani would break up with Gabriel for note reasons! But fear not, Dani. In tans noble deeds are almost alway rewarded.

noble reasons, that is.

Thanks, Jarifa. Terrific job.

She believes that when one is truly in love, they just want to see the other person happy. Gabriel is just not who he was before. Daniela cannot just keep going out with him like that.

Actually Gabriel is "who he was before," but without the money, a job, and a home of his own. His sense of humor is still intact -- if he loses that, then we know he's in serious trouble. We all knew this was coming, but I hate that Dani is underestimating him and expecting him to run back to daddy and be a dutiful puppet.

Looking forward to the video Marisol is dreaming up.

Surprisingly to me, I was moved by Eugenio's and Blanca's reunion on the beach. Very touching. But like Janet Jackson's "What Have You Done for Me Lately," I'm looking to see what Eugenio will do for her beyond romantic declarations.

When Julieta suggested the kidnapping sounded like a hoax and Imelda chastised her for it ("easy for you to say, she's not your mother, you're only an in-law"), I cringed but admit I was thinking the same as Imelda. Sometimes even the most loved in-law has to tread softly in family business, but Julieta is most def the smartest person in this TN. Maybe that's why she and Imelda butt heads.

"I hate that Dani is underestimating him and expecting him to run back to daddy and be a dutiful puppet".

From the "I wish I'd said that" category. Very intuitive Niecie!

Diana

I am very glad that they cleared up the "kidnapping" in the same episode in which it occurred, much less stressful that way.

I wonder what the Oaxaca Tourism Board, if there is such a thing, makes of all this not paying the bill at restaurants. Or of "kidnapping".

Niecie, I think you are right, "Julieta is most def the smartest person in this TN."

She is not always the most fun, for me that would be Gabi and Dani, but she is definitely the anchor for the show, which figures, it's "mi marido tiene familia", she being the wife. She also gets top billing, and has done the most to get these sometimes erratic people straightened out.

Including Linda. I like her more every episode.

Ah, I wanted to make a comment about the 'girls at the beach'. They all looked great and looked to be having a great time. I was surprised how good Amalia looked, beautiful dress!

With her it would probably not be a great idea to "show 'em what you got", better to hide some of what you got. In any case, she definitely looked good.

Jarifa - Thank you for your recap!

The girls on the beach ( old Beach Boys song.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbfl24DhU1w ) looked so lovely and relaxed! I hate their little vacay was ruined by the thieves. It was definitely a good PSA-of-sorts about leaving your possessions unattended!

The thieves were doing a tame version of Express Kidnapping --- just without the kidnapees --- that is, unfortunately, rather prevalent south of our border. Good thing Blanca reached Eugenio before they gave away their money!!!

In the meantime, this might be a turning point for Eugenio. Fingers crossed!

Dani's "Trouble Maker" tee shirt should be worn by not-so-Linda. Just sayin'.....

On the run today. Thanks, all, for stopping by!

Thanks Jarifa, great recap today. I just wanted to see more of "girls just wanna have fun" at the beach. Too bad these grown women didn't think about not leaving their purses unattended. I mean, this is something my grandmother instilled in me, "Never, ever, leave your purse alone or with people you don't know. Take it with you on the dance floor if you need to and don't trust anyone!"

Dani is blaming herself too much and should not have broken up with Gabriel. She needs to just give it time. I'll bet Gabe is the kind of guy who could make a fortune on his own without Daddy Dearest's help.
