TELEMUNDO Y MÁS (#1): Hasta que te Conocí, Sangre de mi Tierra, Señora Acero 4, & más: Week of December 25, 2017

Welcome to Page #1 (Monday edition) of the Telemundo y Más page, issued twice a week: Mondays at 3:00 PM and Thursdays at 8:00 PM.

Here are the current telenovelas (all times are Eastern Standard Time):

• 10:30AM-12PM—Santa Diabla
• 12-2PM—Las Reglas del Juego
• 8-9PM—Hasta que te Conocí: la Voz de Juan Gabriel (starts Tuesday)
• 9-10PM—Sangre de mi Tierra
• 10-11PM—Señora Acero 4

Even though Monday is Christmas, the morning offerings remain unchanged. On Monday evening, from 7-9 PM, there will be a two-hour movie, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (I kid you not).  This will be followed by Sangre and Acero4 at their usual times.  Starting Tuesday, the 8-9 PM slot will offer a new novela, Hasta que te Conocí: la Voz de Juan Gabriel.

Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation.  Since discussions of all the Telemundo novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post, so readers can easily find the conversations they're looking for.

By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes reference to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!

Happy holidays, everyone, and best wishes for a happy, healthy, peaceful 2018!

"MILAGROS DE NAVIDAD":

HALIMACANDY: I noticed Jesus More, who portrays BPN in "EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS" was in this episode last week.

Sangre

The episode opens with Serena and Juanjo in bed together. Aurora calls Serena's cell phone. Juanjo answers. Oops. Serena gets on the phone, says she's in Miami. Aurora is supposed to meet her plane. Serena calls to say the plane is late. But Aurora hears someone calling "Juanjo" in the background. Oops. Aurora then drives (to meet the plane?) and sees Juanjo and Serena together, hugging.

Paloma calls Roberto a controller. Meche, who thinks Roberto can do no wrong, is not pleased with Paloma.

Leo is watching some kind of TV (fashion?) program showing with a woman walking down the runway accompanied by a shirtless hunky guy. My guess is that Leo is more interested in the guy, but who knows? Leo is into women's clothes, so perhaps he's (also) interested in the woman. Whatever...he quickly turns the TV off when Cris comes into the room.

Roberto tries to persuade Aurora that they're better off living in Calistoga. She's really unhappy with her father, and so she more or less agrees. Ten seconds later (well, I exaggerate slightly), Roberto appears with house keys. He tells Aurora they're renting with an option to buy, and they can move in TODAY!

Meche is not happy about Aurora's moving to Calistoga, taking with her Meche's precious nieto, Emilito. Meche tells Leo that her dream is to have a big house filled with children and grandchildren. She tells Leo that he should get married to Sofi or someone like Sofi and fulfill Meche's dream by having lots of kids. Duh.

Aurora and Roberto have moved to Calistoga. Aurora is overwhelmed by the amount of space, and she's also missing her family. Roberto tells her that he and Emilito are her family.

A neighbor comes to greet Aurora and welcome her to the neighborhood. As they're talking, Aurora spots a black snake in the room near Emilito. She grabs Emilito in a panic. The neighbor tries to assure her that it's just a harmless garden snake, and she picks it up to show Aurora. Aurora isn't convinced, and I'm with her. Even if it's totally harmless, I sure wouldn't want such a thing in my house. Yecch.

Meanwhile, Serena has told her boss via email that she's quitting. He meets with her, and she agrees to stay for a week more so he can find a replacement. As the two of them are talking, some guy with a large-pocketed coat is stealing bottles of wine and goes undetected. I have a feeling that the guy was hired by Roberto to get Serena in trouble. Roberto comes into the wine store, looks at the shelf where the wines the guy stole had been, and asks Serena whether the wines had been sold, because they're not there. Serena says no, there have been no sales of those wines. Roberto then implies that she stole the wine. She's furious and leaves, as Roberto yells after her, "You're fired!"

Roberto also learns about Natalia's effort to form some kind of organization unifying the wine producers. He tells Cris, and says that they have to make a better counter offer. We then see Sanchez tell Natalia he's not going to continue to be a member of the organization. Juanjo notices that Sanchez has a new watch, and isn't it a coincidence that Feliciano also had an identical new watch. Clearly, Cris is bribing them to leave Natalia's organization.

Natalia tries to get a loan so they can buy a grape-harvesting machine (vendimiador) that would save time and money and give them back an advantage over Cris. The bank tells her she already has a ton of debt. She then contacts Horacio. She meets with him, but it becomes clear what Horacio wants in return, and she walks out the door.

Sangre

thanks Juanita and Halimacandy!

let's see if I can clarify some details,

so Serena, having not passed, was going home, so Juanjo went with her and not to the celebration, Mike bringing back his certificate, and they spend the night at Juanjo's junkyard palace, and then the call from Aurora that Juanjo answers when Serena tells her they are in Miami and he is there to take her to breakfast, and then they go for round two, and Serena awakes remembering that Aurora was going to pick her up at the airport and calls her to tell her not to, the plane has been delayed, then the voice calling Juanjo, I think it was his boss, so Aurora swings by and sees them smooching their goodbyes, but, they go back inside for round three.

I think seeing this is the main reason Aurora wanted to leave home, her best friend and her gran amor, she needed some space.

so Juanjo helps Nat sign up 14 more growers to the co-op but Roberto gets to the two main guys before they sign, and offers them a much better deal than the co-op, plus a watch, Roberto's plan is divide and conquer, so Juanjo comes up with the harvester to get the edge back because this will lower everyone's costs, but Nat is turned down, and can't get to see the bank president till after the harvest, but she sees online a pic of him with her Ex, and so she meets her Ex for dinner at her place, she wants Paco there but he has a MaWa meeting, tells her to wear the black dress, she doesn't, and when the Ex makes a pass at her, she throws him out, later we find out Paco's meeting was cut short, and why didn't you come back and help me she asks, went out for drinks with the boys, or so he says.

Sangre

Wow, deb! ¡Muchísimas gracias for all this clarifying information! I was especially clueless about the business with Serena and Juanjo. I knew she hadn't passed and Juanjo had, and so I was confused about how they were together and where. So much of the Spanish still goes in one ear and out the other without making even a short pause at my brain. :-(

Sangre

it only took 20 shows for me to figure out who Leo's best buddy is, the soccer player, the guy who punched the gay, who is always hanging around Cris' house, it's Serena's brother Rafa, of course.

this show is turning out better than I expected, interesting that all of these people are basically good, hardworking, honest, (except for Rob who dances to a different drummer) yes there was an emotional toll when Emilio died, but it's really only Roberto's misinformation that keeps stirring the pot, and Aurora's fateful decision to go to Argentina with him.

SANGRE#19

Serena tells Aurora: yes! Juanjose and I are a couple...

[ I got your man, and -there- ain't- a- thing- you- can- do- about- it!]

Roberto ,crashes Aurora's car , in order to prevent her from meeting Serena at the men's club...Aurora, haven't you hear of UBER/LYFT??

but the WFT!! of the episode ,was when Roberto drops -a-dime on Serena,
... he stands there with a smirk on his face ,looking like the cat-that-ate-the-canary..

and of course.. her Dad shows up and he grabs her and pimp -slaps- the-crap-out-of-her......

How did Dad think ,that was ok ! ever!!...her dad was wrong, wrong ,abusive! and DEAD WRONG..!!

He had no-call, to slap that girl ,in front of a bunch dirty old men, and place her low...!

The honor killing code: the victim dies, but ,not the perpetrators !! it's patriarchy Bullsh*t..!!

its 2017...ok,

Juanjo ,you were right to defend Serena ,even ,if it's from her own father, cause her dad was all -the- way-wrong!!!

Crisantos , why were you there , you horny pig, ,,,support for Serena's dad, yeah?my...!!

I am surprised you saw any thing , cause you almost broke your neck gawking... that's why you got clocked by Juanjo in the first place...you shouldhave been home ,minding your -own ,'GD' business !!

Juanjo, stand by your women , forget abt Cri[ain't no saint]santo the slut., get another lick in!!

Serena, you Lucky girl!!!, you have real man!!

Dude ,stepped up and stood up for you, Juanjo is the man !!
and he has a sweet smile,a gentle guy and real teddy bear!!

Sangre
Okay, the whole family is in crisis, about what exactly?
stuff that none of any of their business...

it's really all abt her relationship with Juanjose!!

...those flash backs to Dimas and his abandoned children, were good!!

Dimas' sister wasn't sh*t , she was going throw babies out-on-to-the-street!! Who does that to children.

Serena and Rafa's mom was an 'two-dollar-hooker' ,but was she really?? cause we never saw her??!! Any thing could have happen to that girl!!

LOL!! didn't Serena end up at Robertos house!!!

Sangre
Natalia had a victory against Crisanto's monopoly.. using the collective of growers/farmers ...

..in retaliation,Crisantos and Roberto ,pull a 'dopefiend- move' and called in Natalia's debt ,in cold-hard-cash.

...to off set having to buy grapes from her and they went to an outsource in order to supply the 'noir' grapes, they need.
Bastards!!

Natalia calls a meeting to determine their next move..

Juanjo is worried abt Serena, but doen't want them to move into together yet..

but, the old man tells him ,to..'Shack-up'..-as-soon-as-possible!!

Sangre

WTF!! Roberto, you are a criminal... and stupid Crisantos is going to jail behind this ego trip!!

Roberto brought a baggie of 'BOOTLEG'..Grapes!!!

He has a truck, in MEXICO, just waiting to unload!!
WTF!!...a truck from who, where, how did you ,'JUST HAPPEN'.. to get this HOOKUP??? WHA???

OMG!!...CAN YOU SMELL THE COCAINE!!! Can't you just taste ,what the CRACK-ROCK is cooking!!!

Por Favor ,ya'll...its too obvious!!! The Narco capo , and who is coming into the picture ?Ivan's people or the dirty cop???

Sangre

Wow, thanks, Halimacandi, for your recap of some very important parts of last night's episode. I confess that some of that episode went right by me, especially all the strategies that Natalia and Cris used to get control of the wine situation. Natalia succeeds (thanks to Horacio) in getting a bank load so the Monteils can buy the grape harvester that will make their operation faster and less costly. Then Cris demands (thanks to Roberto's [hiss here] suggestion) that Natalia pay in cash, not grapes.
From then on, I was lost. Does Natalia get the upper hand again? If not, why does Cris go along with Roberto's suggestion to break the law by using grapes brought in from Mexico? And how does Juanjo happen to be there unseen in a truck taking photos as they're unloading the Mexican grapes? One other thing I think I did understand is that Roberto is even playing dirty with Cris, telling the guys bringing in the grapes to tell Cris "this is the price we agreed on" and then later, you and I (Roberto) will "adjust" things.

I admire Serena for defending what she did, both her relationship with Juanjo and her working at the Pole Dance Club. She tries to explain to her father, to Cris, and to Meche. Ultimately, it's the Juanjo thing that drives them all nuts. Even Meche. She's OK with the pole dancing, as long as that was all it was, but she's unable to accept that Serena is getting it on with "the assassin of your novio."

Near the end of the episode, Serena asks for her job back. However, her boss replies, "What about her?" pointing to Serena's replacement. "Shall I fire her?"

At the end of the episode, Serena talks to Cris, defending what she did. Again, the stumbling block is Juanjo. Cris tells her she has to choose: Juanjo or us.

One more point: though Paloma sees the situation more reasonably than her father and mother, she has her own craziness. We see her looking eagerly at some photos of Paco on her computer. Hey girl, you should watch telenovelas. If you did, you'd see what creepy characters Miguel de Miguel played in La Reina del Sur and La Esclava Blanca. Stay away!!

Sangre

thanks so much Halimacandy for your wonderful recap!

and thanks Juanita for your added comments!

(oh and that anonymous post above was me)

ok the grape thing, Cris and Nat have some kind of legal settlement where Cris got some of her land plus she owes him an amount of money that she can pay back with grapes, the grapes are important (black ones I think) because only her and that other guy in the co-op grow them, and Cris needs them for his signature wine, so Roberto shows Cris how he can get the same grapes from Baja Mexico, for half ?? the cost so he demands from Nat money instead, Nat's group meets and they can't borrow any money because their credit is stretched buying that harvester, and putting all their assets together they don't have enough to pay him back, Nat is convinced they are done for and will lose everything, 30 years work down the drain, I don't think Cris is doing anything illegal, up to the point where there is a regulatory agency that overlooks the Napa Valley wines, and he can't sell a wine advertised as local if it was made from grapes from another source, and yes Roberto has some kind of shady deal going with the guy he is getting the grapes from, maybe the low price that sold Cris on doing this isn't the actual price Roberto is going to pay for them, and what caught Juanjo's attention while he was driving around were the Mexican plates on the truck heading to Cris's winery.

wow, Serena took a beating lastnight, all the way around, including realizing Roberto was the one tipping everyone off to her dancing, (he got the address from a text message she sent to Aurora), and of course Aurora is blind to all this and it rips it between them, so serena leaves and goes home but is about to get kicked out of there, no place to live, no money, no job, lost her best friend, as well as flunking the test...

Sangre

Thanks very much, StillAnon, for your extremely helpful explanation of the situation between Natalia's business and Crisanto's, and also for explaining that what caught Juanjo's attention were the Mexican plates. There was certainly a brief focus on the plates, but I had no idea why, not being familiar with what Mexican plates look like.

My guess is that you're either Spanish Student or Nett. It would be great if you could either remember to put your name at the end of each post or, ultimately easier, register with CarayCaray and have your name (and avatar, if you wish) appear automatically. Alas, I did that years ago and no longer remember how.

Oops, that was me again, posting anonymously above.

Hey deb, you're usually so good about starting out "deb said" or signing at the end, that I immediately discounted the possibility that the anonymous poster was you. Also, the style seemed different. Oh well... I guess I don't have a career ahead of me as a literary critic or a private detective. :-)

Juanita- I have been squabbling with recaptcha and playing with going anonymous till I'm ok'd, but then forgetting to change it to deb, sorry.

Sangre

I have not been commenting lately because I had not been watching live...so I either watch on demand...a few epis behind...and rely on your comments...but I think I'm caught up for now. After the holiday's I will probably get behind again.

When Serena first started at the club, I knew she was going to get a beat down...I hate that it's a standard them in TNs that a parental figure gets to slap the kid around...but anyway...it was tough to watch. And Serena's dad looks like he knows his way around a strip joint....and I'm sure Chris does too....so the hipocracy is annoying.

I thought Juanjo speculated on where Chris could be getting the grapes from...and purposely went looking for evidence and he found it. I can't wait for Chris and Meche to see how foolish they were to put so much trust in him. But their hatred for Jaunjo does not let them see the truth about Rob.

So Paloma and Serena both have Rob's number and have tried to warn people about him. They are not listening....too bad. I like that both these gals have smarts and are brave enough to let Rob know they're on to him. I hope he doesn't hurt either of them. It's bad enough he has Aurora right where he want's her...isolated and away from family and friends that can help her.

On Leo being gay...that's an interesting turn of events. Before the incident when he and Rafa were accused of a hate crime against the gay couple...Leo appeared to be straight and we had no clue of his confusion or curiosity. It seems that after the lecture he received from Det. Susan...his curiosity was peeked and he started with the fantasies and going thru women's clothing. And it does seem that he wants to reject his dad. I do wonder where this will end...simple curiosity....or he is gay.

Sangre

Nett, I too am afraid that Rob will make life difficult for both Paloma and Serena (and anyone else who opposes him). He's already doing that to Serena. As for Paloma, her apparent attraction to Paco may be something that Rob can exploit to cause trouble.

deb--I HATE the recaptcha nonsense! One thing you might try is to ask for an audio recaptcha (the headphones icon) rather than the visual one. Though they do make the numbers in the audio somewhat unclear, I've found I've had better success with it than with the visual, where I've at times had to go through half a dozen screens before I convince it that I'm not a robot. By that point, I feel as if I am a robot!

Sangre - Capítulo 21 (Pt 1 of 2)

I'm not planning to write a full recap, but I thought it might be useful to put the episode # at the top, so that people coming to this discussion later will know which episode I'm talking about ("last night's" could be any episode).

We see that Roberto's plan to use grapes from Mexico hasn't worked out so well. Juanjo has taken photos of the late-night delivery of the Mexican grapes, and now the authorities have come to see Crisanto. He at first tries to claim that the grapes are all his, but he soon sees that the authorities have proof that's not the case. He's told that if he uses those grapes, he'll have to say the wine is Mexican, and he'll have to charge a lower price. Oh, and he'll have to pay a fine (regardless of whether he uses the grapes or not, I think).

We also see Cris ask an engineer whether he (Cris) can continue pumping water, at least for the coming season. The Engineer tells him that the reservoir was damaged by the 2014 earthquake. The Monteils were told to make repairs, but they had no money, and so no repairs were made. The engineer tells Cris that if he were Cris, he wouldn't pump water--the reservoir could collapse, and all the water could come down and ruin the Monteils' vineyard. (Hmmmm) Crisanto tells Dimas that they'll have to find another way, but somehow, I think he says this for the engineer to hear.

Roberto is plotting again, as always. The guy from the service station calls to say that Aurora's car has been repaired and is now ready to be picked up. Roberto makes sure that Aurora isn't within earshot and then tells the service station guy to do a full workup on the car and take all the time he needs, they won't be using the car right now.

Neighbor Sara knocks on the door. She has muffins to give Aurora, since Aurora liked the others so much. Roberto turns on his oily charm, and it works on poor lonely Sara. He even suggests they use "tú" with each other. He then tells Sara that Aurora is having trouble adjusting to the neighborhood, and he'd be so appreciative if Sara could just keep an eye on her. Of course, she agrees.

Shortly afterward, Aurora asks Roberto for a ride so she can pick up her car, which is supposed to be ready today. Roberto tells her that the incompetent service station guy called to say that it wouldn't be ready until Monday. And if she wants Roberto to give her a ride to Napa, she'd have to leave right now, because he has a meeting. She asks him to wait 30 minutes so she can dress and bathe the baby, but Roberto says he can't. So she's stuck in the house with very little to do.

Roberto tells Cris that they're going to have to buy the grapes from Natalia and Feliciano. If they tried to buy elsewhere, the transportation costs would be too great. Cris is not pleased that they have no alternative.

Natalia meets with Cris. She tells him she's surprised that he wants her grapes. "You asked for payment in cash," she reminds him. "Here's the check." She continues, "I sold the grapes to the cooperative. There's nothing left for you."

Sangre - Cap. 21 (Pt 2 of 2)

There's lots more, but I'm going to skip to the end of the episode. Crisanto does indeed cause the water to flood the Monteils' vineyard. At the gas station, Natalia has just learned about this, and when she sees Aurora, she tells her that her father is toying/playing with her again. Aurora then goes to the vineyard and sees the flooding. She tells Juanjo that her family has a power pump, and she'll go get it. When she goes to do this, Crisanto tries to stop her. This makes her realize that he's responsible for the flooding, just as others have said. "I don't care what others say," replies Crisanto. "The police may care," replies Aurora. She tells him she's going to take the pump, and if he wants, he can throw her out of the house, as he did to Serena. [¡Brava, Aurora!]

Roberto meets with Crisanto in his office. Crisanto tells him that Aurora has taken the pump, and that she's showing a lack of respect. In Calistoga, she can apparently do whatever she wants. Roberto, if you wear the pants in the family, do something.

Sangre

Chris did intend not to use the pumps...but we in viewerville knew he would find a reason to use them and cause the flood, He got angry when Nat out smarted him and sold the grapes to give him the cash payment he demanded....he then told Dimis to use the pumps.

The setup with the neighbor is interesting...he now has others basically helping him spy on Aurora. Not sure if Anita understands yet that she is his mole as well.

I wonder how long it will take Chris and Serena to figure out Robert stole 10 grand of Seren’s severance. I almost thought it would come out when Chris and Serena said their final goodbye but it didn’t. I still applaud her for standing her ground on her relationship and desire to improve herself. The verbal abuse from her dad is maddening but she didn’t back down and warned him that she could hit back. Now one wonders if his wife chose her supposedly loose lifestyle over him and his caveman ways. Hope to get more background on her and her departure.
