Caer en Tentación #66/67, 1/22/18 Lunes: Predators and Prey

Chapter 66: Predators and Prey

Carolina asked Florencia whether she had disposed of the garbage and she said she had; Santiago was taking the bins out. Carolina appeared testy. This was possibly due to Damián's presence but also to Florencia herself. She may have sensed that the girl found Santiago attractive. She was about to have another disagreement with Damián when Raquel had entered. Santiago returned and Carolina pretended that all was well. Florencia knew that something wasn't right in this house when the two women talked about the next day. Raquel volunteered to look after Benjamín again, then left with Damián. Santiago and Carolina disagreed about Florencia's duties. Although she didn't say so Carolina felt like Florencia was encroaching on her territory by cooking for Santiago, who asked her whether she was jealous. She didn't admit to it, but he didn't really give her an opportunity. He persuaded her to finally break her post-partum celibacy.

Raquel and Damián sat up in bed talking about the strange vibe in the Álvarado house. He wondered whether she had put the green-eyed monster into Carolina and she said she hadn't meant to. He then commented that Florencia needed the job and she should have an opportunity to do it. He then got up, saying he had work to concentrate on, and went over to the other side of the room with his back to her. Whatever his mind was on, work was the last thing on the list.

The following morning Carolina brought the baby to the Becker house and Raquel apologised to her about her jealousy comment. “It was a foolish joke,” she said. Carolina told her not to worry; everything had gone very well between her and Santiago the night before. Raquel hugged her. Neither seemed to notice the dark cloud that was Damián's non-verbal reaction to this. Damián and Carolina then left for work.

Mia entered Federico's room and found him in bed with the friend who had visited the night before. The friend was asleep, but Federico was startled despite Mia not making much in the way of noise. She stood silent for a moment but made a hasty exit as Federico got up.

Damián and Carolina arrived at the catering hall. No one else was there and she told him she typically would get there an hour earlier than the employees. She knew something was bothering him and asked what it was, as he had not spoken on the way there. She told him that she had had relations with Santiago the night before. It was evident that Damián didn't like this. They resumed the same argument about the nature of their relationship. She finally told him that she had peace with Santiago, but what did they have together? They were back to the same fight, a later round.

Raquel held Benjamín and was talking to him as though they were related. Mia entered the room unseen and backed away at this sight. The baby began having breathing problems and Raquel yelled for help. Mia was about to cut herself again and she stopped, put her blade box back under her bed, and ran to her mother's room. Raquel sent her to get Jovita.

Damián and Carolina were back to the same old issues again with Benjamín being the excuse. Carolina emphasized that Benjamín needed a family, not money, and that family was with Santiago. Her cell began ringing and it was the Becker house informing her that Benjamín was sick. She grabbed her purse, saying she was going there.

Rueda entered Alina's office asking whether she was going to help Miriam in the custody case. Alina pointed out that isn't the judge a friend of the family? He must have sensed that she was hesitating and reminded her that her track record indicated she always backed the winner who, in this case was “the Becker family.” Then he announced that his offer had an expiration date. The look she gave him should have put him six feet under.

The guy in the next cell taunted Santiago, saying that getting out of there would require a lot of money. Santiago tried to ignore him, but the man then asked whether he was aware that his lawyer once worked in the same office as Rueda. Also that they had been lovers. Santiago looked up at this. “Don't trust anyone,” the man said. “Especially those ravens. They prefer fresh blood.”

Cinthia checked on Raquel, who was trying to sleep. She told her there was a problem. Raquel started to get up just as Jovita entered the room explaining that there was no money to pay the bills. Raquel said something about Miriam not having authorized the transfer. Cinthia said she would handle it but Raquel wanted to take care of this herself.

Nicolás aske Lola whether she was sure. She told him that she was; her mind was made up. He said he didn't want her to feel bad about this because girls who have abortions usually do [It's obvious that he has no clue about the reality of this situation]. She told him she was too young, she was already taking care of Benjamín and it was all too much. She wants to have a baby when she wants to, when she's ready. He seemed to accept this response, hugged her, and left her alone.
Bebo came into the room and Lola asked him why he said the baby was his. He said that it was better this way: If Nico knew that Juan was the responsible party he might do something rash that would end badly. Lola then answered the knock at the door and Florencia came in. Florencia asked Lola whether her father had called. Lola was confused as to why she asked. Florencia knew about the affair.

Rueda was in Miriam's office telling her that they would have an appointment in family court in a day or two. However, this was not good enough for Her Imperial Selfishness, who insisted that it be that very day. He told her that it would not be possible because it required two days' notification. It was illegal otherwise. She did not care. She insisted that it be that day, saying that the baby was not to be with “that family” another day longer. “I pay you quite a lot so you will follow my orders.” Rueda conceded and said he would call the judge.

Andres was at the Becker house at Raquel's request because she needed to know whether her absence from the office meant that she would not receive her rightful share of the profits. “Does Miriam not want my children to eat?” she asked.
Miriam wants them to live with her. That's what she wants.”
Over my dead body.”
That won't have to happen. Your children will never live with her. I'll help you. I'll give you some money –”
I don't need you money, Andres. I have my money, the money that belongs to me.”
I'll help you get it,” he said. “Just let me help you.”
How?”
The catering business. You can't abandon it. You have good clients and can get more. If you come back you can have lots more income.”
At this moment I can't work.”
Then, let me take care of it. I can run it and retrain the employees. Raquel, let me help you, please.”
She did not answer.

Fernando payed a visit to Lisa to make enquiries about Vicente. He asked whether that was Vicente's home and Lisa replied that it was hers. “If it were up to Vicente my son and I would be living on the streets” she told him. He explained that he was following money that had been obtained illegally. She claimed to know nothing. He said he was sure she knew more than she was saying. Finally she admitted that Vicente was getting money from Damián Becker. He asked whether the Álvarados were in on that and she told him No. Santiago isn't that kind of person and Vicente hates him. Fernando thanked her and asked her to call him if she remembered anything else. No sooner did he leave that Vicente arrived, knocked, and forced his way in.

Raquel had apparently taken action prior to the doctor's arrival and he told her she had done well. Her past experience with Federico's asthma had been useful. Santiago arrived, took Benjamín, and Raquel was beginning to explain what happened when the doorbell rang. Jovita opened the door and Carolina charged past her asking “Where is my baby?” before heading up the stairs. Damián was behind her. Mia caught him taking up the rear, demanding “Father, what is your interest in all this? You were with Carolina, weren't you?”
Carolina took the baby from Santiago and insisted they go home. The doctor tried to stop her, suggesting that she should wait for the injection to take effect. She rudely replied that she was the child's mother and that Raquel didn't have the right to do this. The doctor told her that thanks to Raquel the baby was alright only for Carolina to say that thanks to Raquel the baby was sick in the first place. She headed for the stairs. Santiago apologised behind her back and followed her out past Damián, who asked Raquel what happened. She said “Nothing. He was having trouble breathing and I only did what I would have done for my own child.”
She sat on the bed, hurt and confused.

Fernando got up from the bed in his former bachelor pad, knowing he had made a mistake the previoius night with Celia. He checked his cell phone and there were five missed calls from Laura. He dressed as quickly as he could and was almost out the door when Celia got up and followed. He told her that this would not happen again. She replied that he would be back after this.

Carolina was still angry about Raquel's actions, accusing Santiago of responsibility for Raquel having taken care of the baby. She went on about how Raquel should not be trusted to take care of him alone. Santiago pointed out that she had experience with children's respiratory problems because of Federico, but Carolina took this as him defending Raquel and her decisions. She continued to argue with him about this until she went into another room.

Federico's friend left after a chaste hug goodbye. Mia watched and waited until her brother closed the door.
Did you have sex with him?” she asked in an accusatory tone.
Leave me alone,” he said before going back upstairs.

Damián thanked Raquel for saving Benjamín. She pointed out that it was Carolina who owed her thanks. “I was only trying to help.” She could not understand why Carolina was accusing her of making the baby sick. Damián kept telling her to calm down.

Carolina called another doctor to examine Benjamín, who told her that the other doctor had administered the correct drugs and that the baby would be fine. He is no longer in danger. Santiago looked at her during this. Carolina was relieved as they escorted the doctor out the door.

Mia told Federico that Carolina was saying things that upset their mother.
I don't understand why Mother bothers with that ghetto family.”
Ghetto family? You sound like Grandmother.”
Grandmother is right. Carolina is an ingrate and doesn't want our mother to take care of her own child.” [???]
That's not our mother's fault.” He tried to leave, but Mia grabbed his arm.
Why are you living on the moon?”
What are you talking about?”
Why did our father bring Carolina here?”
Maybe they were working. What does that have to do with this?”
Why does nobody see what I see? We have to get that woman out of our lives and I'm taking charge of this.”
It's the same thing over and over,” he said as he left the room.
Yes. The same thing over and over again.”

While Santiago was going over some documents Carolina told him he was right. She had been unfair to Raquel and didn't know what to do. He told her that all she had to do was apologise. Poor man had no idea why this was going to be so difficult for her.

Lola sat in the student lounge trying to get some work done when Patricia arrived. Lola had been avoiding her by not answering her messages or returning her calls. Patricia tried to imply that Lola had enjoyed everything that happened that Lost Night. Lola denied this. Patricia told her she was an accomplice in the death that had occurred that night and Lola denied that, telling her “It was you who prevented me calling for an ambulance.” Nonetheless, Patricia warned her about Miguel. He had a lot of arrangements going and she could end up dead if she rocked his boat.
Lisa denied telling Fernando anything. She told him what Fernando asked but that she had told him nothing. He threatened violence, held her up against the wall, and shouted in her face, finally saying that he thought all this would be over now that Carolina was dead but now he wasn't so sure. He went on about “You don't know what I've had to do to support you and the kid.” Lisa finally demanded to know what he knew about what happened to Carolina.

Cinthia went to see Fernando at the police station. She was overwhelmed and needed help. Raquel was always the smart one, the one in charge. Now their roles seemed reversed and Cinthia was about to panic. She was afraid she would end up taking drugs again. Fernando told her she could do what she had to do. She was to think of her sister and show her what she could do. She was grateful for his trust and his shoulder to cry on.

Florencia was taking care of Benjamín when Lola, Bebo, and Nicolás returned. All seemed well and Florencia went to prepare dinner. There was no knock as the door was still open when Miriam, Rueda, a social worker, and a bailiff entered. The latter read the court order aloud:

In view that the biological father of Benjamín Álvarado Rivas is incapacitated, the family court awards conditional custody to Miriam Franco, widow of Becker, mother of Damián Becker Franco, in accordance with the law.

Miriam looked at the horrified young adults with the most self-satisfying condescension she could muster.

Raquel heard about this on the phone. She was relatively calm.

Santiago heard about this in Antonio's office. He went from disbelief to violent grief, knocking things off the desk. Two guards came in to restrain him and back him up against the wall as he began to cry.

Episode 67: Chasing the Money (in brief)

Raquel was talking to Jovita about the custody situation. Mia came in and Raquel asked her to help her get Benjamín back to his family. Mia did not answer.

Lola and Nicolás argued about what to do. Nicolás wanted to take Benjamín and run, but Lola thought that was too risky. Miriam and the others heard the raised voices. Her Imperial Selfishness demanded that the police be called. The bailiff refused, citing concern for Benjamín's possible trauma from this, which Miriam wants to blame on Nico and Lola. Florencia said she would get the baby. She went into the next room and warned the siblings about this. Later she handed Benjamín to the social worker. Someone said something about visitation hours which Nicolás found outrageous. They left. Miriam looked like she wanted to spit on the Alvarados.

Alina went to the police station to see Santiago. Antonio told her she would have to wait until he calmed down.

Federico wanted to resign from Legato, but Azucena begged him not to. If he did that the company would be entirely under the control of Miriam and Andres, which would not be a good thing.

Andres told his accomplice Miguel that the coast was clear for them to use the catering business for their money-laundering schemes.

Nicolás came to see Federico about what happened. Federico promised he would help.

Lola, Beto, and Nacho met about this problem and pending money issues.

The guy in the next cell told Santiago he could help him. Santiago looked doubtful and said he had to get out. He asked how.

Fernando went home; no improvement with Laura.

Santiago rocked Benjamín to sleep. Florencia checked in on him before leaving. She looked at the baby and said “Es un sol, como usted.” (so now we know she has the hots for Santiago). He rold her he would get a cab for her while he goes to see Raquel about the misunderstanding.

Carolina went to see Raquel and was told by Jovita that she was in the bedroom with Damián. Mia smirked at Carolina while passing through. Raquel came down and Carolina apologised to her, citing panic over the baby. Raquel accepted her apology then declined to be Benjamín's godmother. She was less than warm and looked weary. Carolina left. Damián came downstairs and Raquel was rather frosty with him as she went back up.

Luz and Danny came up to the office, both claiming that Federico was a hypocrite. They finally walked out. Nico asked about this but Federico said he would tell him later. They went into Andres' office.

Santiago said he needed to escape; the guy in the next cell said this would cost a lot of dinero. “How much?” Santiago asked.

Sammy got home and had an argument with his father, who was angry that he divulged their plan to Mia. It seemed to have had the same end result except that it hasn't yet ruined Alina. Rueda was afraid of the possible consequences.

Federico and Nicolás looked through papers in Andres' office for anything that disclosed information about Damián's investment in Santiago's business. Andres walked in and deliberately provoked Nicolás by saying “Your father is a thief and your mother a slut.” For which Nicolás decked him.

Raquel and Damián argued about Carolina's accusation and Damián's previous suggestion that Raquel apologize to her. Raquel was outraged, as she had saved Benjamín's life. Mia and Federico eavesdropped outside. Mia blamed Carolina for all the fights that their parents were having. When Federico tried to disagree she threatened to tell their parents that he had gotten it on with Danny the night before. “What kind of a sister are you?” he asked. [We'd also like to know.]

Carolina went home and told Santiago that Raquel almost threw her out. She told him they should leave things as they are. Santiago said they should give it time. Carolina did not agree, saying that she was fed up.

Damián tried to get it on with Raquel but she wasn't having any. She was still upset, accusing Damián of using sex as a substitute for solving problems. She turned her back on him and eventually he did the same.

Nacho, Lola, and Bebo talked about money because Santiago's workers had to be paid. Lola handed him money that was likely set aside for that purpose. After he and Bebo left Florencia suggested that she and Lola do something together but Lola said she needed to be alone.

Naturally, Laura reported on the custory issue and its current status. Antonio freaked out about this, telling Fernando this had to stop. Fernando hadn't told Laura anything so where was she getting her information? [Is this coming from the guy in the next cell?]

Alina visited Santiago. He asked her about working for Rueda and she admitted to it. Nothing was said about them being lovers. She told him that Rueda and Miriam had offered her mucho dinero to betray him. He asked if she had accepted and she said she told them yes.

Fernando went to the TV station to tell Laura off. He tried to get her to leave with him but she shook off his touch and remembered to limp on the way out.

Psycho Juan showed up at the Alvarado house, forced his way in, and beat Lola up. He demanded to know whether she had gotten it on with Bebo as he knocked her down, then picked her up and it looked like he was holding her off her feet.

Miriam told the nanny to watch Benjamín 24/7 as she was too old herself to take care of a child. Raquel arrived at the door and told her hostile mother-in-law that she was there to get Benjamín, “por las buenas o por las malas.”

Alina told Santiago that she had no intention to betray him, that she was merely getting Rueda to put all his cards on the table. He could now trust her or get another lawyer. She asked what he wanted and he said it was one favor: Money. She told him he would not need money in the cell and asked him what he was planning.

UA: Miriam makes me want to vomit! Sick person indeed.

Why do I get the feeling Cinthia will likely get kidnapped & die of a drug overdose by the thugs of Miriam or Andres ?

Santiago going off at hearing the news was NOT shocking.

Bebo wants to be the Baby Daddy ?

Perfect title Urban. Exquisitely narrated.

"Neither seemed to notice the dark cloud that was Damián's non-verbal reaction to this." and "Her Imperial Selfishness" were excellent.

"Why does nobody see what I see? We have to get that woman out of our lives and I'm taking charge of this.” Merely a threat or a promise that morphed into reality.

The two most powerful scenes occurred last night for me. Santiago's primal screams in the call upon hearing Miriam took custody of Banjamen. The second was Lola opening the door to the savage, beyond enraged Juan.

I am praying Juan doesn't kill Lola. I cannot fathom what could happen to change the custody situation unless Miriam dies. Am I incredibly callous for saying I hope that happens???

Carolina was almost contemptuous to Raquel. She takes her husband and scorns the necessary medical treatment given her son. She wants to totally vanquish Raquel. I was so happy Raq did not accept her apology.

I can't decide if Caro is deliberately taunting Damien or if she is really trying to end the affair.

Nico and Lola will be scarred for life with multiple hurts. When is this all going to end???

Thank you Urban.

Diana

Lola never should have opened the door and should have called the cops. Not enough care has been given to protect her from that criminal threat. I am hoping that Bebo takes things into his own hands and makes him disappear.

Diana, you hit it on the head with Carolina being “almost contemptuous” to Raquel. That was a surprise.

The more I see of Damián, I like him even less (which I did not think was possible).

Miriam looks too healthy and is too mean to die any time soon. Just my opinion.

Jarifa: We're going to get used to seeing Miriam's face from here until the Gran Final.

Urban: Excellent rendering with some superb prose, I must say. Loved the "dark cloud" description. So, Miriam was there at the end licking the cream off her paws and whiskers in such a self-satisfied manner I had to laugh. Melodrama at its best.

Carolina's ungrateful reaction was totally uncalled for and it makes her an even less likeable victim of circumstance to me than before. I wonder if the kids will end up hating her the same way Santiago finally did, once the whole story is out. However, if Vicenti pulled the trigger all bets are off. Somehow I can see either Michael or Juan doing the deed for Andres and Vice having stolen the gun. Dunno.....

Urban, thank you for the recap!

Thanks Urban! I hate that Univision cut half of two episodes and combined them.

It continues to amaze me that so many people knew about Damian and Carolina but didn’t dare tell Santiago or Raquel. And the fact that Raquel and Santiago were so blind that they didn’t even suspect anything.

Both Carolina and Santiago agreed that Raquel could watch Benjamin and Raquel asked her first then she consulted with Santiago. Carolina went too far and no surprise that Raquel was hurt and unforgiving when Carolina apologized. Honestly I think that even if Carolina and Damian weren’t having an affair, Carolina and Raquel wouldn’t be friends otherwise. Santiago would easily get along with both Damian and Raquel but Carolina wouldn’t.

Poor Santiago. That scene where he cries and screams to Antonio about Benjamin was very well done. Ferro is proving to be a great actor in this.

I think I’ve said before that while Mia may be unhinged, she’s pretty smart. Although her comment about Carolina seemingly puts her on the list of suspects. Personally I don’t think she’s a suspect though. At this point I’m not going for the obvious anymore.

The more I see of Carolina the more I wish Raquel had found out about the affair while she was still alive. Carolina deserved a bloody good hiding from Raquel over all this. My only reservation in that statement is whether it would have been better or worse for Raquel from a mental health standpoint. I can't decide.

Not much has been said about Andres' and Miguel's prostitution ring in the last 30 episodes. I wonder what is going on there.

Juan was not in this episode. However, I can see the possibility of Andres enlisting him in his evil schemes. Neither of them has a conscience and both have a taste for the young and vulnerable. The only way Andres is superior to Juan is that he seems to have more self-control and that is because he isn't mentally ill, just evil. I am still wondering whether he has a history of molesting Mia, who does not seem comfortable around him.

I believe that this episode is meant to cast more suspicion on Mia and Vicente. I see it as an either/or situation, as these two are much too unlikely to be involved in the same scheme.

I hope that Alina sees the illegality of Rueda's most recent move and files an appeal. However, I hope that Nico doesn't tell her that Lola is pregnant because that would look horrible.

Jarifa, thanks for your words on this. Can you tell us what the gun ownership situation really is in Mexico? TNs make it look as though anyone can own. Also, how likely is it that Benjamin would be taken away from the only family he has known? If this case were happening in the US I think he would be in foster care.

Wanted to add that I think that if Miriam and Rueda weren’t scheming and playing dirty Miriam should not have been able to get custody of Benjamin. While Santiago is suspected of killing Benjamin’s mother, Miriam attempted to kill Benjamin’s father—her own son. There were witnesses to that and clearly more evidence against her than of Santiago.

Urban, I wish I could help you out, but I know nothing about gun ownership or child custody in Mexico. I am wondering about the same things.

Juan was in the episode on Uni last night and he was beating Lola.

Urban, you mentioned you didn't see Juan last night. In what ran in my neck of the woods, the last (or second to last) scene was of Lola opening the door to him (not checking of course) and him entering and hitting her and throwing her on the floor.

Strange!

Diana

Thanks Jarifa. You saw what I did.

Diana

Thanks Urban!

I feel like this is one of those shows where we spend 99.99% watching good people suffer, hoping and praying for a good payoff, only to be disappointed in the end. This show is so depressing I can't wait for it to be over.

Diana, thanks for mentioning Lola just opening the door. Anybody with half brain living in fear of somebody, would not just open the door because somebody rang the bell or pounded on it. Too bad they have made Lola stupid.

Urban--Thank you, thank you for providing scenes that were not broadcast in my area. It clears up completely what Dam and Raq were talking about in bed in the very first scene I saw. At first I thought this was a different episode. I knew she had tossed out the green-eyed monster without thinking, but I never got to see the follow-up. Another scene left out was Caro at the catering office getting the phone call. So back to the recap.

Juan was definitely in the last scene of this broadcast episode. He started beating up Lola. His scene will probably be at the beginning of tonight's episode.

Be back with more later.

Jarifa--et al. These doors drive me silly. The Alvarados have a green iron gate that has to be 8 ft. tall. It is always locked, even Lola has had to use a key to open it. People have to beat on it if we see them from the outside. If you are on the inside, visitors are always at the front door of the house. Bah!

Easy solution for locked gate or door and no security cam: all they have to do is call on their cellphone. No call, wrong person call, no entrance and everyone is still safe. They are all on their phones anyway all the time but, of course, then the drama would be lost. The lack of common sense is deadening.

Thank you Urban. This was heart so so wrenching.I could feel santiagos pain.
His little boy was about to be handed over to lucifer's wife/mother(which ever makes you vomit). This actress is
Good at Makin you want to ring her neck. That disgusting look on her face when the clerk read the order from The
Judge was really sickening to watch.
She's a merciless bitchwitch.
Poor kid, he has no idea of the witch
He's being handed over to. Damian and
Carolina really crapped on these lives

About Andres, did he fall in love with
Raquel and then Damian came along and
Took her affections? I have to wonder
Was he always like this or or did he
Become a horses ass after his heart was broken. Because he seems genuine about wanting to help Raquel. I don't
Know, These people are like the tides of the Ocean. UNPREDICTABLE!

When I saw Lola going to open that door I kinda got fearful.Lo and behold
Its lucifer's spawn. She may not need an abortion, he might beat her up and
Kill the baby. What a colossal mess.He
Needs to be stopped. He is crazy to the
10th power. When he knocked her down I
Was wishing bebo would come in, some
Body, she needs help. He's the type of dirt that would kick her in the belly.
She don't need to loose the baby that
Way. Something good got to come out of all this heart ache. Look like all the good people are suffering and the bad
Guys are winning out. That tells me one thing the light at the end of the dark
Tunnel is near and will be bright and soon.

Did anyone catch that convo santi and
Alina were having when she paid him a
Visit at the jail. After that old hag
Kidnapped Benji? Sounds like she was
Confessing to throwing the case, but my
Spanish is bad to 0. I'll read the comments above mine maybe somebody got
The conversation.

Reading through the recap, it is obvious they sliced and diced and glued two episodes together. How I hate Univision!

RED ALERT: Haven't found the episode where Raquel finds the gun in Santi's drawer yet. I'm up to epi #29. HOWEVER--I did see that Mia DOES have a driver's license and does drive. She shows up at the Alvarado's sidewalk, keys in hand and offered to take Nico to his first day at work. He nervously declined because Alina was due to pick him up. Mia is thwarted and angry and jealous.

I agree, though that Mia's statements about getting Caro out of their lives are just that, right now. But remember---what joy she derived from smashing Joaquin's dad's car's windshield over and over (a thing) and what a big kick she got out of drugging him later and doing nude or semi-nude selfies that got posted (a person). In a particular dissociative mode, she could very likely move on to a kill. But, for where we are in the show, it's too obvious.

Nina--I was also going to use the words heart wrenching. Thank you for expressing it that way. It was especially wrenching where Benji was being taken away. How was it NOT surprising that the Grandmamma is not going to have anything to do with raising the tyke?

Urban thank you very much.
Uni is at it again, last nights episode felt a little disconnected because Friday night we left off where Florencia walks in on Damian and Carolina, and then last night we get Dam and Raquel in bed discussing Raquels comment to Carol.
Thank you for connecting everything for us with all of the missed scenes. And I want to mention that the end of the episode last night was Juan knocking Lola to the Ground after she opened the door. We also got an scene where Alina tells Santi that the Becker's are trying to buy her off, and that she said yes but she is actually not going to help them. So she asks him to trust her.

Now to the actual episode the two scenes that stand out for me are the one where Carol is a complete b$%#$#ch to Raquel. I seriously wanted to choke her. Who the hell does she think she is Raquel just saved her baby. And why do you hire Florencia if you are going to be taking him to Raquel??? She deserves all the grief she gets, maybe not death but everything else yes. Slut. (sorry had to vent)

Then the scene where Miriam and her goon go take Benji, that was horrible. Benji is the best actor in this TN. When Nico told him that he would go get him back Benji replied yes. And then when they took him away he waved good bye (I was fighting back tears) he deserves a Golden Globe.

Urban--in our broadcast there is a conversation between Rueda and his son Sammie where he gets chewed out for telling Mia, who will runteldat to Miriam. He was planning her ruination and lifting her license forever. He hates her that much. Now his plan is ruined. Sammie thinks not. But Rueda roars that Sammie didn't know when to keep his trap shut. (I thought Rueda had explained to Sammie earlier that he wanted to ruin Alina and assumed he did, too and he wanted Sammie to be in on it. Ah well, the end result was the same--Miriam was told.)

Another conversation left out was between Alina and Santiago. He's back in his cell, the new guy is out, so their conversation is not overheard. Alina finally admits that yes, she worked for Rueda and learned a lot before setting up her own practice. She doesn't mention the part of being lovers. She goes on to tell him that Miriam and Rueda are in cahoots to take Benji away from him and they offered her a lot of money plus Rueda's lucrative practice in Los Angeles.

Santi is speechless. She goes on to say she accepted the proposition because it is HER plan to ruin Rueda by then showing he was bribing her to lose the the custody suit (or had Rueda moved on to include the criminal charges because Miriam wants him to rot in jail--irrelevant which at this juncture).

Removing Benji from Lola was heart wrenching, indeed. Fortunately Flo was there to intercede. These two young people did not deserve this without a "seasoned" adult present.

Kudos for Raquel. In my last scene where she seems fully competent and capable and knocks on Miriam's door and says she's here for Benji, por las buenas o las malas.

Sandie--our additions crossed paths. I hope they helps others figure out what's going on.

Sandie--Caro blamed Santi for the baby-sitting arrangement because he had told Flo not to come until mid-day. She also accused him of being the one who wanted to keep the friendship with the Beckers, alluding to the notion that he wanted to be around Raquel. Meanwhile, Raquel was ready to pack up Dam's trousers and shoes and send him after Carolina. She was sad and mad that he always seemed to be taking Caro's side when "here, your wife is me."

Thanks, Urban.

Ugh, it's been clear Juan would one day give Lola a beatdown about Bebo, the baby, etc. cause he's a violent psycho. It's horrible already, but I hate that he's doing it in the sanctity of her family's home. I hope at least the police finally get called on that vermin.

Caro is a mess. She could see Damián sitting over there in the dark when she was telling Raquel about the special lovin night she and Santi had. She also reminded Damián that she was faithful like Santi before she met him. Well, Caro you haven't been faithful for some time, so deal with yourself and stop placing all the blame on Damián.

Mia has been steadily going downhill since I rooted for her when she beat the crap out of her tormentor's car and she is smart, so I'm actually hoping she's not the murderer. I loved when Mia gave Caro a silent staredown when that phony gave her a cheery "hello."

It seems we've been seeing different stuff, or not seeing what others saw.
Lola went to the door, opened it crazy
Comes in like a crazy and start talkin
Then he throws her on the floor, looks
At his nostrils flairing. If bebo, nico
Or somebody don't come his foot is on
Her stomach. Tonight. I'll be glad when this is over too.

Nina--"About Andres, did he fall in love with
Raquel and then Damian came along and
Took her affections?"

Answer: Yes, he's never made any secret of still wanting her, sometimes rather forcefully.

Sorry for all the comment bombs, folks, but I'm FIRED UP over the latest twists.

She didn't have nothing to do with Damians upbring. He turned
Out to be a selfish reckless son
Of bitch. And she contributed to
That. Can you imagine how that
Child would grow up under her black wings? Let's stop right here, it's sickening.

Yes he does, the little sweetie pie he is. I told y'all Caro &
Dam gettin off easy, there not
Paying for any of the pain they
Caused. She should be payin for it alive. And he layin his coma
Butt up in the bed sleepin. No
Justice.

I'm with you girl. Bombs indeed.

OK. They combined episodes 66 and 67. They deserve to lose their license over this. I will post the missing stuff at the end of the above now that I know what all is missing.

Now updated to include all scenes of #67. Tonight is #68 (and possibly #69)

#'s 66 and 67 each were a few minutes shorter than usual; 39 and 40 respectively rather than the usual 43. But this doesn't get Univision off the hook.

Thanks, Urban, If you want to use anything Sandie and I jotted down, don't reinvent the wheel.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I found the two gun episodes. They are actually back to back, IN THE present

Epi #52 - 1/2/18 - "Raquel looks for p.j.s in Santiago's drawers and finds a different kind of pistol instead. Turns out to be Santi's dad's pistol and the only thing that remains from his father and something she cannot ask him to get rid of. He refuses."

Epi #53 - 1/3/18 - The boys find the gun in the woods.

The police have no way of testing the GUN that came from the empty box (later on). If it is determined that the GUN the boys found IS the murder weapon, it CAN'T be Santi's dad's. Only a day separated the two actions. These are the two episodes where Mia cut herself so severely she ended up in the hospital over Epi#52 & 53, so we know not much time could have elapsed.

Giselle should have a clause in her contract that NO ONE can cut out any scenes. After reading your full recap--it was obvious the Viewers on the Patio were left without a lot of crucial information.

What does Uni know anyway about how directors and producers consider that their telenovela should be presented.

Uni says (I imagine) Damn the facts and full speed ahead to the next telenovela; we're done wasting time on the build-up to the climax and revealing the killer of Carolina Rivas--who is she anyway? Nobody we know, so somebody, go get the scissors.

Urban, we're ever so grateful to you for giving us the whole picture.

Thanks. This kind of thing really burns my tail. This is the first time they're cutting from this series but since it was projected to be only 107 episodes someone has to know that there isn't much filler in it.

PSMA was virtually cut in half, MIVAC was cut by at least 30%, and I once estimated that PyP was cut by about 7 episodes out of 137 and the US audience was very vocal about these edits. There also were edits from MdN, which really annoyed me. I don't remember what the cuts were in ones I wasn't watching. Cutting from straight drama is bad enough but from murder mysteries it's really insulting.

Urban--This was on Telemundo, but I remember what a mess they made out of Reina de Corazones. They were even tripling and quadrupling the episodes. We finally gave up making any sense of the cut vs. uncut versions and our courageous recappers said to hell with Tmundo and started recapping the full episode one day at a time, so the Caray pages ended long after the telenovela did. I forget who was the lead recapper now, but he posted link to the whole episode (from somewhere in the ether) that was being recapped.

Anita thank you for the added Clarifications and Urban thanks for taking both episodes on.

Thanks Anita! I didn’t think those two events were that close to each other. I thought the Raquel scene was many episodes before the scene with the kids. So then there’s TWO guns? Again, I think once the fingerprints are identified that’ll provide more insight to what may or may not have happened.

And thanks Urban for adding #67. I’m gonna read it right now.

Hopefully no cutting tonight, At least
Not uni. Mia.....well she might.I like
the advance I saw,so I'll shutup about
That. I want us all to enjoy it. :)

I am so grateful to have come upon this blog. The recaps and comments help me clear up so much confusion! I just wanted to say a few words about this episode(s).

Most satisfying moment: Nico giving Andres a well-deserved punch in the face and knocking him to the ground.

Most terrifying moment: Juan attacking Lola.

Most annoying moment: Caro's verbal attack on Raquel after Raquel saved Benjamin. The nerve!

Most amusing moment: Jovita's side-eye to Carolina.

Most heartbreaking moment: Santiago finding out that Miriam had taken custody of Benja.

Most confusing moment: Fede and his friend that spent the night?

I may have to stay up later just so I can see tonight's episode!!!

Tamara--Welcome to the Patio. Truly, Monday night had its moments, good and bad. Poor Andres--I don't feel sorry for him in the least, but he's the one that has been on the receiving end of a lot of slaps and punches. Keep 'em coming....

And do keep your comments coming. It's refreshing to have a new voice added.
