Papa a Toda Madre #7 1.23.18: Guess Who's Moving Next Door?

Mauricio receives a mysterious phone call and is floored by the news he receives.

Wilma calls Renee to the university to inform her that they are reducing the amount of students that are accepted in a US university in her field. Renee asks if she’s safe, as she was already accepted, but Wilma explains that she needs to complete the required forms in time or they may give her spot to a waitlist student. Renee can’t believe the dilemma she’s in: she can’t apply for a student visa without being formally accepted into the university, which she can’t do if she has no money to pay for it. Wilma hopes they find a solution soon but Renee sighs heavily.

That night, Mauricio meets with Leopoldo, who has reconsidered, at Logatoys and offers to buy some shares in the company on the condition that he oversees all the finances and can provide input when and where needed. Mauricio is wary, as Fabian already handles that, but Leopoldo is firm. Mauricio can’t fathom why he’s so interested in his company and Leopoldo explains that he likes a challenge and he knows Logatoys can be successful if they course correct. Mauricio nods, mulling it over.

As Veronica and Renee fold laundry at her house, Veronica encourages Renee not to give up her dreams, no matter how many “no’s” she’s heard. Just then, Veronica instructs Tania to take care of her brothers, who are misbehaving, and Renee asks if Tono helps out when he’s home. Veronica laughs and tells her that he barely pays attention to the kids but then reassures Renee that she will solve all her problems soon, especially if Lupe is helping her. Renee makes it clear that Lupe is not her boyfriend and she won’t allow him to pay anything else as she still owes him for the funeral. Just then, one of the kids gets up on the couch again and Veronica goes to reprimand him.

The next day, at the office, Mauricio informs Fabian of Leopoldo’s offer. Fabian wants to look everything over first, just to be sure, and Mauricio agrees. Just then, Leopoldo arrives and they sit down to look over the offer, the conditions, and everything else.

Outside the office, Neron begs Jorge to help him with his retirement pay and Jorge promises to do what he can. Just then, Jorge steps away to answer a call from his local priest, who tells him to come to church right away. Later, the priest informs Jorge that some children at school were watching pornography on a tablet, which belonged to Samuel, and Jorge is shocked. He argues that Samuel didn’t look up that “material” but the priest is chucks it up to Samuel’s sexual awakening (which happens at a younger age now) and instructs Jorge to guide his son away from temptation and “impure” thoughts. Jorge nods but begs the priest to reconsider the suspension as he has no one to take care of him. The priest assumes Dulce will but Jorge can’t bring himself to say the truth: his marriage is over. Either way, the priest’s decision is final and Samuel is suspended.

Outside of Logatoys, management gathers all the assembly line employees, including Renee, and informs them that they are fired. They all demand answers but the men inform them that the decision is final and demand they leave. Renee faces her coworkers and tell them that she has a plan because someone needs to explain what is happening. They all agree.

Neron is pacing outside of Mauricio’s office when the same men who fired the employees come and inform him that they have his check and he only has to sign one final document. Neron looks at the check, but finds that it’s only 1/3 of what he is owed, and the employees explain that there were changes and that is his check. Neron is adamant: he will sue Logatoys but the employees remind him that he doesn’t have money to pay for lawyers and they will also sue him. Neron throws the check away and declares that he won’t back down. The employees shrug and walk off as Neron tries to talk to Mauricio and Fabian but finds them both gone. He stops short when he sees Veronica and Tono, who has a long face, and they explain that they were both fired. Just then, Renee arrives will the employees and declares that, until Mauricio arrives and gives them an explanation, they are not leaving.

Mauricio says goodbye to his penthouse as Anifer walks down the steps and asks him where they are going to live. Mauricio explains that they are moving to a house his father owned though it will be a little bit smaller than this one. He then begs Ruby to come with but she is tired of cleaning up and cooking for him, without pay. Fabian then calls him to inform him that he got his car and Mauricio hopes it’s not a trash heap.

Renee declares that no one is moving until they receive an explanation but Veronica reminds them that that Logatoys can fire anyone at will, especially if they are near bankruptcy. Renee won’t back down though and everyone agrees that they something must be done. Just then, the new Logatoys lawyer (Leopoldo’s lawyers) arrive with the two employees that fired everyone and Renee demands that they give them an explanation. The lawyer demands that someone call the police and kick everyone out, by force, and Tono grabs him by the collar. They pull him off the lawyer but Renee declares that they have rights and won’t stop fighting for them.

Mauricio puts his bags into the car Fabian got for him (a brown rust bucket) and Mauricio can’t believe this is all he has left. Fabian explains that his new home is close to the factory, though far from everything else, and Jorge will be waiting for them to arrive. Mauricio begs Fabian to not leave him like this but he wishes him luck and goes. Mauricio then helps Anifer into the car and gets into the driver’s side but finds that the seatbelt barely works and the car doesn’t turn on. When it does, Mauricio prays hard that he can drive as he’s used to manual and not automatic.

Jorge picks up his kids from school and pulls Samuel aside to ask him about the pornography incident. He demands Samuel tell him who put those images in his tablet but Samuel is quiet. Jorge then loads the kids into the car and promises to find out the truth.

Mauricio arrives at the cul-de-sac and finds that it is everything he hates: colorful houses, a weird smell and plenty of children of all ages. As he gets out to smell the putrid air, a balls flies at his face, which he catches in time, and he demands to know which kid threw it so he can speak to their parents.

Just then, everyone he just fired this afternoon comes out and demand to know what he is doing there, as he has already done enough damage. Mauricio is shocked that they were all fired, and tries to explain, but Renee can’t believe he was so cruel. Tono and Veronica then demand to know why he’s picking on kids and Mauricio tries to explain what happened, to no avail. Jorge arrives then and walks over to Mauricio so he can explain what is happening, namely, the fact that Mauricio is their new neighbor.

Everyone is floored and Mauricio asks Jorge to find another house as he is in enemy territory. Jorge thinks he’s exaggerating and introduces everyone to him again though he can barely remember Flor’s name. Mauricio hopes they can start from zero but Tono reminds him that they have to start from zero because they have no job and Neron doesn’t have a pension. Flor is surprised to hear this and Renee tries to distract everyone by getting Anifer out of the car and taking her to meet everyone. Of course, everyone loves the little girl and Veronica takes her around to meet everyone. Mauricio takes the opportunity to explain that his new shareholder fired them but, when they move some things around, everything will be okay. Neron turns red and, as Flor tries to calm him down, Jorge tries to defend Mauricio but finds that no one is sympathetic. Mauricio tries to explain the recession, etc. to everyone but they all leave, frustrated, and Renee shows Anifer her house, and asks her to come by whenever, before leaving too. Tono comes back for Ernesto, who tells Mauricio he is watching him, and Anifer shakes her head at Mauricio’s cluelessness.

Veronica prepares a tea for Tono and asks him to calm down. Tono can’t believe Mauricio’s audacity though they can barely talk as their kids interrupt them to ask for new clothes. They tell them that they should use the ones they have for now and the kids run off. Once alone, Tono asks Veronica to find a part time job, so she can take care of the kids, and he will find another job to support them, completely. Veronica can’t believe he is being a macho about this but Tono jokes that he is the alpha man and that’s that.

Jorge explains that Bosco build the cul-de-sac for his employees and kept a house for himself, just in case. Mauricio is shocked at his father’s generosity but Jorge reiterates that his father was very kind to them. Mauricio though he would live somewhere nicer but he is distracted by Anifer, who is happy that their new home has a yard and trees. Mauricio smiles, as she is happy with so little, and asks Jorge to show him the house (Mauricio thinks it’s the biggest but it’s actually Jorge’s).

Once inside, Mauricio can’t believe this expect him to live in this mess. Jorge explains that Bosco used the house for storage though Mauricio can’t bring himself to accept his fate. Anifer couldn’t be happier, and Jorge expects that the movers will clean everything when they bring his furniture, but Mauricio reveals that he sold everything. Jorge offers to help but Mauricio prefers to ask Fabian. After an awkward moment, Jorge leaves and Mauricio can’t remember his name (still!) though Anifer can.

As they set up dinner, Veronica asks Renee is she has any inside information on Logatoys. Renee shakes her dead but wonders what will happen with Anifer, as she’s too nice for a father like Mauricio. Tono warns them not to help Mauricio, as then he gets used to it, but asks Veronica for a beer (the irony is not lost on Renee).

Mauricio calls Fabian to tell him how old and decrepit the house is but Fabian, who is clubbing, is unsympathetic and suggests he start exploring. Just then, Anifer announces that she chose her room and Mauricio is shocked to find the house only has one bathroom. Anifer suggests they pretend they are in a castle but, soon, their hunger gets the better of them and Mauricio asks Anifer to unpack so she can distract herself.

Jorge sits down with his children at home and tells them to please treat their new neighbor with respect, despite all the bad things he’s previously said about him, and then asks Valentina to go make dinner as he has to talk to Samuel, much to Samuel’s chagrin.

Anifer starts looking in various boxes, though Mauricio asks her to stop, and they find a beautiful doll, which was part of Aurora’s doll collection. He smiles when he remembers his mother and Anifer asks if she can play with it. Mauricio shakes his head and tells her to leave him alone because he has a call to make. Once alone, he hugs the doll and his eyes fill with tears.

As Flor paces, and wonders what they will do about the baptism, Neron asks her to calm down as his business will save them. Just then, Milady poops but they don’t have a diaper to change her and Flor hands her to Neron, who tries to calm her down.

Mauricio looks around the house and pulls back the covers on a train set. He smiles big when Anifer comes and declares that she’s hungry and wants to ask the neighbors for food. Mauricio reminds her that they are a team and, if the neighbors hate him, they also hate her. Anifer asks if she fired all of them and Mauricio explains that the company is passing trhough a tough patch but he hopes to recover. Either way, Anifer wants to go to Renee’s but Mauricio refuses to give in and begins to play with the train set as Anifer goes back to her room.
Sometime later, Mauricio gives in and goes to knock on Renee’s door with Anifer. Renee doesn’t answer and Mauricio assumes she’s avoiding them but Anifer assumes she’s out. Either way, they are still hungry and Mauricio declares that they will have to go food (and prays his credit card works).

Later, Mauricio explores a Mexican supermarket for the first time and decides to get some packaged food though Anifer tells him not to because they are bad. He reads the nutritional facts and puts back all the packages; a few feet away, they find a deal on steak and Mauricio grabs at least 10.

Neron goes to buy diapers for Milady and the attendant assumes he needs adult diapers. Neron explains that it’s for a baby and the attendant asks how old his granddaughter is. Neron makes it clear that he is the baby’s father and then pays for the diapers, which are extremely expensive.

Mauricio passes by a display of one of his inventions and laments that fact that no one has bought this ugly chicken, despite the discount. Anifer tells him that no one wants to buy an ugly chicken, which only sings two stock songs, though Mauricio things she’s being ridiculous. Anifer suggests they do a toy that sings a song of the owner’s choosing but Mauricio declares she’s being annoying and puts the toy back before leaving.

Veronica puts the kids to bed and then confers with Tono on the current job listings. Veronica thinks she has found something but Tono declares that he is the breadwinner and will find a job. Just then, the kids start a ruckus and Veronica goes up to see what the problem is. As she does, Tono see that they are both contemplating the same job listing. Tono is shocked.

At the cash register, Mauricio prays that his credit card works and he never loses his hear. The cashier finishes ringing everything and then Mauricio hands her the card but it doesn’t pass. He gives the cashier some cash and then takes most of the healthy items, as they cost too much, and leaves with Anifer. She thinks they barely have any food to eat tonight but Mauricio thinks they could all stand to loose some weight. He promises to call Fabian tomorrow and ask about his money when Anifer notices a few cans that weren’t charged at the bottom of the cart. Mauricio tells Anifer to hold on and they race out of the supermarket.

At home, over dinner, Renee tells Lupe what happened at Logatoys. He wonders why she didn’t call him immediately and Renee shrugs before telling him that everything must get resolved, soon, or she will be in trouble. Lupe reiterates his support and Renee wonders why it took all these things happening for her to realize his true value. He tells her that he has been waiting for this opportunity for years and gives her a kiss. Renee is quiet and Lupe asks if it means what he thinks it means.

In the car, Anifer chides Mauricio for not paying for the cans but Mauricio thinks they will be okay, especially since he needs the help. Anifer tells him that her mother thinks stealing is bad but Mauricio thinks it depends. Just then, sirens appear in Mauricio’s rearview mirror and both of them tense up but it’s just a police car trying to pass. He asks Anifer to hide the stolen goods, just in case, and he continues driving, as calmly as possible…

Mr AAA, thank you once again for a great recap.

I really do like this TN, but I'm beginning to feel a bit put upon. It's a little long, but I think an alternate title for this TN might be "Women are wonderful, smart, capable, and long-suffering; men are all jerks, not even as smart as a six year old girl."

OK, maybe that's a bit long, too long for poster. Still...

OK, having gotten that off my chest I have to admit I enjoyed it. But how is it that those bad guys fired everybody? I thought Mau was holding out for a deal that would protect the workers. No?

What is the mysterious Fabian up to? He got that rust bucket for Mau, is he still drawing his salary?

Lots of questions, no answers yet, let's hope soon.

Thank you , ALfredo, for another detailed, wonderful recap.

Andy, that is an interesting title but one that would probably not draw many viewers. the strong woman theme is becoming increasingly popular. Why can't we just have strong people ?

I am impressed with Rulli's English. He is fluent in two languages..not just a pretty face . I dont know how his writing and reading skills are, but he has a great pronunciation. Last night , he used more English than ever. He slips effortlessly back and forth between ENglish and Spanish. Here's the list:
Hooligans...okay..give me five...nice to meet you...take it easy...look at me...look at this...no, sorry...a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....dont touch anything

I can't think of another telenovela where we have spent so much time...or any time..in a grocery store.

Anyway, have a good day , all. Colder and windy here.

Thank You Mr AAA. Now we are getting somewhere, and so are Mau and Ani.!
OMG now tonight Renee DOES have on Fabiola's mauve/pink Pleather jacket I was laughing about yesterday. ???
Lots of E-Bombs tonight
Really?
Fun and games
Nice to meet you
Take it easy
Jesus
Oh No (and another on I forgot to remember)
Dont touch anything
long time ago
Give me five

I have a new respect for Tono. He took off his jacket and was going to drag that guy over the counter and whip his arse.

Did anyone else catch Fabian's casual shoes and no socks when he was showing Mau his junk car.? And his pants were waaaay to short to be dress panrts. HUH? Mau in blue cloth sneakers.
And with all those snazzy cars he just sold, Mauricio can't even drive a stick?
Well, at least Ani will now have some normal kids to play with.

And Anifer still has her plant

Renee's burgundy hair streaks are sexy, she kinda grows on you doesn't she?

I'm glad the Samuel mystery is solved already. Porn? Now I'm relieved about that, as that's a normal part of being a boy his age.

Oh Sheezo, like sending a couple of ten year olds to the store.
The look on Ani's face, (her mouth) when his card was declined was the best !

Oop. Tail Wagger is baaaaack !
Don't kiss him, don't do it. You did it.

I wonder if Ani is going to be a toy savant whose innovative ideas eventually save the company.

If TOno and Vero both apply for that same job, I bet I know who is going to get it and who stays home with the kids.

Is Neron going to have his workers wear those matching overalls like they did in Ramon?

Okay...Renee just kissed PUppy...not smart, and now Maur is right next door.

Susy, RUlli's English slipins are one of the most entertaining things in this show to me. I suspect he is like a lot of modern Latins, where English and Spanish are about equal. He sure sounds like it.
Yeah Andy, I'm in. This one is turning out to be a hoot. I'd watch it just to see the comical, touching, Father/Daughter relationship develop with Mauricio and Anifer. They are good.

I think little Anifer is a testament to how good kids can be when things are bad. That is what I have seen in real life, too.

Yep Susy, she put a little token kiss right on his muzzle.

In his mind she may as well have had him chipped.

Alfredo, excellent.

"Mauricio arrives at the cul-de-sac and finds that it is everything he hates: colorful houses, a weird smell and plenty of children of all ages". Drink it in pal. This is your reality.

“Tono jokes that he is the alpha man and that’s that”. Hmm, I keep waiting for him to start waving a caveman club.

Andy, unless I'm way off base, I think Fab is not so fabulous. I think this is all part of his master plan to destroy Mo. Kirby's no socks observation sealed it for me. Blech.

I smiled at Neuron’s adventures in diaper buying and that everyone thinks he is a grandfather.

Susanlynn, I wasn't sure about Rulli initially but he is winning me over.

There is little worse than being fired or laid off. Mo is in hostile territory indeed and he better fix things before he loses all.

Kirby, I've always thought Maite was the entire package. Cute, smart, sexy but very down to earth. She's perfectly cast here.

Crazy day at work so better get back.

Alfredo, thank you!

Diana

Alfredo: I recognized Gramps from "LA Candidata".

I am wondering about Fabian's shoes and too short slacks. I wonder if they let him wear old knockabout shoes, believing they would never be on camera. No man dressed like him would wear his Dockers or Timberland or whatever they were with a suit, and no well turned out man with an Eldredge knot in his tie would wear his slacks not touching his shoes.

Yeah it is hard to find anything wrong with Maite. I was ambivalent about her in Lichita, but it was with Soto, and that molester guy on CET, maybe that was it.

Yeah Andy, to see these TNs you'd think the only reason guys are alive is they are the only source of sperm, otherwise humanity would die out.

Thank you, Alfredo, for the fab recap.

Well, at least we know what Samuel was up to. No wonder he was at the center of the squealing mob yesterday.

Diana, ITA that Mauricio better watch his back in the cul-de-sac. Talk about “hostile” territory . . .

Susanlynn, yes, the kiss was a bad idea. Dr. Lupe will inevitably take it to an unintended place. Renée just muddied the waters.

Kirby, I was surprised that Toño was ready to take the demonstration to the next level but I sure like his character better.

Andy, it does make you wonder if Fabián still has a job since the new partner is going to do what he was supposedly doing and is calling the shots but, hey, this is a telenovela . . . Maybe they like his “style”. Lol.

Good Morning, everyone! Despite all the grueling and intense plot developments, I found myself very excited during this episode and smiling a lot throughout.

I am becoming more suspicious of Fabian by the minute. He was originally throwing fits left and right but now seems surprisingly calm despite everything that is going on. I am also surprised to see he's no more worried about his position...I don't like it but we have to see.

Anifer was extra adorable in this episode, shaking her head at all of Mauricio's high jinks. Her and Renee are going to be the dynamic duo to save Mauricio from himself.

I think the difference between Dulce and Jorge vs Veronica and Tono is Tono is there when it counts. He will defend his family against anything and he doesn't care about appearances (from what I've seen). Jorge will try to keep his family together for the sake of appearances, and not because it's the best thing for them.

Saddest moment was Mauricio hugging his mother's doll. He lost her so young and I don't know if he will every fully recover. Anifer was right about that bird, for a big kid, he sure doesn't know what kids like to play with. Ironically, he keeps trying to get Anifer to play with technology when she would prefer to play with toys.

Alfredo...I think that Ani will be an asset to Mauricio by showing him what kids like. I also wonder if this show is a PSA against kids using technology too much and not playing and using their imagination.

Thanks Alfredo!!!

Something has to be up with Fabian. That car is terrible. Fabian must not own any stock in the company otherwise I would think he would be selling stuff too. I can't imaging Mark Tacher taking the role of Rulli's sidekick so there must be some more umphh to his character.

All I thought when Ani discovered the doll was money. Those old dolls can bring in a lot. Of course, Mau would have to be desperate to sell his mom's things.

There is a guy in my office that hates socks and he wears all of his suits without socks, just loafers. He has a common name so we differentiate by calling him "sockless ____"

I'm enjoying this quite a bit. Anifer is so strong, stronger than her father. She will straighten him out!

So Tono and Vero have the same qualifications to do the same job but he wants her to stay home. Typical.

Thanks, Alfredo. Great title and recap.

Just then, everyone he just fired this afternoon comes out and demand to know what he is doing there, as he has already done enough damage. Mauricio is shocked that they were all fired, and tries to explain

Mauricio is lucky they didn't attack him with pitchforks. I never imagined him living in the neighborhood. And inquiring minds want to know where Fabian is living.

So Samuel was looking at porn? I wonder if it was simply racy, or really hardcore. Seems they need to put a block on his access. I don't remember Samuel saying more than three or four words at a time, so I don't have a read on this kid.

Carvivle...sockless..ha. It made me think of my mother in law's favorite cat..Socks.

Niecie...somehow I just figured that Mauricio would end up in that pastel Paradise of a cul de sac ...and right next to Renee's cozy little home.

Niecie, love the “pitchforks” comment.

I feel like if Fabian really felt like Mau's brother, he would be taking more of an interest in Anifer. There seems a distance between the two. More like party bro's than family bro's. Yet he is the only one Mau kinda listens to. Maybe Fab just doesn't want to go down with the ship since Mau makes (made) all of the decisions at Logatoys.

Susanlynn, "I wonder if Ani is going to be a toy savant whose innovative ideas eventually save the company."

You betcha! That dumb bird was marked down by 70% and not selling. Anifer tells Mau exactly why, but he doesn't get it. Eventually he will and Anifer will save the day.

OT: Kirby, that's an Eldredge knot? Meh. I learned two knots, decided on the one I liked better, and stuck with that. Every weekday morning, after finishing my breakfast sandwich and coffee, and making sure my hands were not greasy, I would reach into a drawer of my desk and pull out a tie and tie it without ever looking at it while I checked the computer.
Every once in a while someone would later say to me something like, "Hey, I like that color combination!" and I would look to see what I was wearing.
8-)

Good Morning, Patio Peeps! Very late start on the patio this morning for me, but I see everyone is on top of everything!

AAA, thank you for this most excellent recap and I enjoyed the screenshots! Great job!!

Andy, “But how is it that those bad guys fired everybody? I thought Mau was holding out for a deal that would protect the workers. No?” I was really surprised that Mau would just sign over the decision-privileges, especially regarding the staff for the same reason you cited. He was dead set on not cutting staff, then he turns right around and lets this guy do whatever the heck he wants…QTH??

Kirby, “I have a new respect for Tono. He took off his jacket and was going to drag that guy over the counter and whip his arse.” I really enjoyed that scene, Toño has my respect too although he lost a few points when he was telling Vero that he was the one that should find work and that she should stay home…I’m hoping he’ll have his words for dinner. AND “I'm glad the Samuel mystery is solved already. Porn? Now I'm relieved about that, as that's a normal part of being a boy his age.” Me, too!! My mind went really south when those kids ran out…what a relief!

Susy, “I wonder if Ani is going to be a toy savant whose innovative ideas eventually save the company.” And “I think that Ani will be an asset to Mauricio by showing him what kids like.” My thoughts exactly…if only Mau would listen! “I just figured that Mauricio would end up in that pastel Paradise of a cul de sac ...” Good call!

Diana, “I think Fab is not so fabulous. I think this is all part of his master plan to destroy Mo.” I’m at this table…let’s not forget that Fab also brought the DNA results to Mau; so-oh…is Anifer really Mau’s daughter??? And “I smiled at Neuron’s adventures in diaper buying and that everyone thinks he is a grandfather.” I laughed out loud when the sales guy brought out the Depends…that was hilarious!

Alfredo, “Anifer was extra adorable in this episode, shaking her head at all of Mauricio's high jinks. Her and Renee are going to be the dynamic duo to save Mauricio from himself.” I am really looking forward to the slow transformation…what fun that will be for us; though it may not be so much fun as it will be frustrating for Ani and Renée.

Niecie, "Mauricio is lucky they didn't attack him with pitchforks." I sure am glad they didn't have pitchforks or rocks; they surely would have used them.

Carvivlie, "if Fabian really felt like Mau's brother, he would be taking more of an interest in Anifer." I was thinking Fab did show some concern about Ani; every time Mau makes a decision that would affect Anifer, Fabian asks "What about Anifer?" or am I wrong?

OT Andy, yeah that ornate knot Fabian wears most of the time is called the Eldredge, as identified by three seperate 'sections' being visible. As many ties as I have/had, I could never tie anything that didn't look dangerous without a mirror. Kudos to you...:-)

Ties were almost a hobby to me. I used to specifically look for ties which "Wouldn't go with a white shirt".

Carvivle...I agree that Fab and Mauricio do not appear to be the type of hermanos that we are used to seeing in tns. Fab seems like he has always been the designated babysitter of the rich kid. I see no real warmth or friendship there.

Kirby..."ties which wouldn't go with a white shirt"...I thought that anything went with a white shirt. Hmmmm...color me confused. Hubba usually wears colored shirts and always has trouble picking the tie. However, there is just something about a white dress shirt..very...spiffy.....a classic.

I was giving Fabian a pass as a fellow thread horse, but when I saw those pasty white ankles, we are NOT on the same team. What is sinister, or has the potential to be, is that almost all Mauricio's information comes through Fabian. He brings in the investors like everyone has noted, he tells Mau what is happening in the company, he tells Mauricio he has to sell the cars, and how much they did (or didn't bring) and even gets him a jalopy from (apparently) the salvage yard.

I am glad Susy and I no longer have to worry about Renee's finances, :-) as it was a surety that she would not be able to move to Mary-Land with Loopy and be the costar in Luuuuurve with Mauricio too. They quickly side stepped that one. Hopeofully we will hear very little about Maryland from here on.

I am suspecting along with everyone, that Anifer Senior is alive. Then after we have the obligatory three way goat rodeo with Renee, Loopy, and Mauricio, with Mauricio winning, Ta..Daaa...Maria, the Mother of Mauricio's daughter arrives and upsets the Renee/Mauricio applecart.

Kirby, be careful talking about a "goat rodeo". Our RgvChickie might be listening :-)

Andy, when I first came on Caray, I was a little confused by "goat rodeo". I actually thought people had rodeos with goats..HAHA!! but all was clarified quite quickly :-) Hmmm, but I wonder if that could be a new thing...I surely have enough goats! LOL

I'm busted. :-(

Oh, and Kirby, I watched the previous episodes specifically looking at Fab's shoes and pant length. The pant length seems pretty consistent, but in other shots, the shoes are much more appropriate for suits ...and socks are inconsistently worn.

I even googled some images and found him in the same "outfit" so I think it was a purposeful wardrobe "malfunction." I had to chop off his head... LOL

Kirby, "after we have the obligatory three way goat rodeo with Renee, Loopy, and Mauricio, with Mauricio winning, Ta..Daaa...Maria, the Mother of Mauricio's daughter arrives and upsets the Renee/Mauricio applecart." Very plausible...I'll make a note of you prediction :-)

RGV, maybe you are right. I think it is that my opinion has shifted, clouding my view. At first I thought Fab did care about Ani but now his motives seem suspect to me. Fab's concern with Ani seems to me to be more about how Ani affects the business than her personal well being at this point. I could totally be overthinking this because I'm looking for hints that Fab is a bad guy.

I hope Maria does return to upset the applecart. She has raised her daughter well. Ani deserves to have her back. She can see Mau and Renee on the weekends ;)

Carvivlie, I completely understand how Fab’s interest and possible underhanded moves could cloud anyone’s thinking. A specific scene that comes to mind, though, is when he and Mau were talking about Mau moving out of the penthouse. fab specifically asked him what he was going to do about Anifer.

OT- Prayers to the students, parents and school staff at Marshall County High School, Kentucky. 🙏

And then there is Miranda who might be having second thoughts about leaving hunky Mauricio or.... she's pregnant !!! Everyone loves Ramon all over again...just substitute the name Mauricio.

Chickie, I recently saw an actress talking about goat yogo...paying for an hour of doing yoga in a pasture with baby goats walking on and around you. #chachingmoneymaker

Chickie...thanks for the visual...wow, those pants are tight...what is up with guys wearing jeggings?..is that a thing? Are we now back to Beatles' pegged pants?

Ot..yes prayers...

YIKES...Nice work RGV. I don't even know what to say. Like wearing flip flops to the prom, I guess.
'High waters' didn't just name themselves.

Now I'm sure we can't trust him.

Susy, that Goat Yoga, Chick? I'd say RGV probably has a pretty good case. I'll get hold of Margarita for her. :-)

Susy, yes, I remember the goat yoga, but I'd probably get sued when the pellets start dropping on the guests...BUT I could also advertise "Come One, Come All...Goat Yoga and Goat Fertilizer All-in-One Trip!" LOL

High times on the Patio today. Goat Rodeos and Goat Yoga. Goat Yoga is definitely a "thing". I've seen it on Facebook so it must be true. I don't even like regular yoga so not signing up. But a friend has adorable little goats on her farm up around Cleveland and they sit on your lap and climb up on your shoulders like little kittens. She has a chicken that likes to be carried around like a pet as well.

Hmm...a long Off Topic. Thanks for another wise and informative recap AAA. First time for me hearing about kids watching porn in a telenovela but as I remember, some of the 6-year-olds in Towanda, PA (coal mining town) were into some some creepy fantasies. Heck, they had to make up their own porn in those days, no watching the internet. Kids today. No creativity.

I thought Mauricio's house looked quite charming from the outside. All those flowers and potted plants. Wish the outside of my house looked that good.

Guys, thanks for the tutorial on ties and knots. Knew nothing about it. Husband favored turtlenecks and sports jackets when teaching. But usually managed to knot his tie for funerals and weddings.

Add me to the list of those who think Fab is murky down to his bones.

Oh and don't throw rotten tomatoes, but I was not offended by Toño wanting to be the primary breadwinner and provider for his family. Given the still existing disparity of wages for men and women, it's generally the better choice if only one can work. And I'm sure anyone who has had a spouse who didn't help out financially knows how difficult that can be. He's not dissing his wife as being incompetent or inconsequential (as Jorge seemed to do when he was dismissive of Dulce's winning the court case); he's just saying he needs to provide for his family. And I admire anyone who feels that responsible. It's not a defect.

But obviously it will make for better comedy when Veronica gets the job and he has to grapple with naughty kids. I understand the set up.

Chickie..yeah ...city slickers do not seem to realize that where there are goats, there is goat ****....even with baby goats. My friend Ralph , who unlike many of the farmboys I grew up with stayed on the farm, used to tell me that he loved to manure out. That Ralph..such a kidder.

Well , anyhoo, I wonder how Mauricio and Ani are going to eat. Mauricio does not seem to have a lot of life skills and relies on Fab . That may turn out badly if Fab is not really his friend. Maybe Renee will take pity on her two new neighbors and invite them to dinner.

Judyb...no tomatoes....I am with you. Everyone has to figure out what plan will work best for their family. Neither my mother or motherinlaw worked at a job outside the home. Both my daughters will probably always work. I am in that middle generation. I stayed home with our girls and hub worked full-time and partimejobs, and when they were older , I went back to work part-time. Every family is different. When I was home I did all the cooking, grocery shopping ,laundry, and cleaning .

What if Fabian is really Anifer's father and used Mauricio's name for a one-night stand with Maria (or not necessarily a one-night stand)? Maybe he didn't know about the little girl, but once he saw his she is complicating May's life, he decided to keep quiet? He can't be the one that brought her there, though, because Smarty Anifer would surely have said something.

JudyB, no tomatoes from me either. "Given the still existing disparity of wages for men and women, it's generally the better choice if only one can work...He's not dissing his wife as being incompetent or inconsequential." ITA, the only reason he lost a few points with me is because of his tone of voice and insistence that he be the sole provider. Given that neither has a job, I would think that he would at least consider that if Veronica gets a job, it'll be some income coming in while he gets hired somewhere. If they are vying for the same job (unknowingly), I'll bet the company goes with the woman--for the same reason you cited...it'll be cheaper. #lifeisntfair

I cannot wait to hear Rulli's English lesson tonight. Is it a PSA for the benefits of learning English? I was always amazed at the way many of my more advanced students could easily shift between English and their own language.

Alfredo - thank you for your recap!

Kirby J - I especially looked at those shoes Fabian was wearing. They look, at this distance, like the Samuel Hubbards my hubby loves to wear. Those socks were either really light color, or he was sockless. Nonetheless, the high water pants and the socks/no socks were very disturbing. I don't trust Fabián.

Sockless....soulless????

Hi Everyone and thank you Alfredo for your recap. This is a lot of information!

I am just trying to catch up since last week when I missed Thursday, Friday, and Monday. Whew!

I'm still trying to figure out how Mauricio loses this business and ends up with absolutely NOTHING. If his business was a corporation, then it should not have affected his personal property or his own personal monies. He should not have had to leave his home or sell his cars unless they were owned or leased by the corporation.

So Anifer's mother is dead from a fire? I am going to have to see if I can watch these episodes myself.

Cynthia , yes, we all have been questioning how fast these events occurred right after Ani suddenly appeared. As you know, real world common sense rarely has anything to do with these telenovelas. Anyhoo, welcome along for the ride...in Mauricio's new old car.

Thank you Susanlynn! This absolutely makes no sense. OH and the baby named "Milady". Has Flor been watching how Fergus calls Claire "Milady?"

Yeah Doris, Bostonian or Johnston & Murphy never made anything like those shoes. :-)

Cynthia...ha!!!...I was looking forward to seeing you here because I knew that you would know the significance of that title " milady." However, unlike you, what came to my mind immediately was Jamie saying to Geneva, " May I touch you, milady?"

Susanlynn, I had completely forgotton about Jamie saying that to Geneva. But now that you mention it, this is really funny. Who names their baby "Milady?" But this is a TN, and they have to do something really silly!

Cynthia, you are so right about incorporating or at the least an LLC, Limited LIABILITY Corporation. as opposed to a sole proprietorship. But I got the impression Mauricio's assets/belongings were not Taken from him, but he just sold everything in a last ditch effort to save his company. He had a lot of help on the way to the poorhouse from his best buddy forever Fabian

Kirby..that is a good explanation. It certainly seems as though sockless Fab may be orchestrating this whole meltdown...but the question is..why? Mauricio is going to learn the hard way that he should have been taking care of business instead of playing around.

Kirby, but Mauricio can't be that clueless or even selfless to allow everything that belongs to him personally to be sold off. He didn't even have enough money or cash/credit for FOOD at the grocery store. Mauricio should be asking for financial statements and an audit! (I can't help it, I have an accounting background and serve as a Treasurer for two non profits.) This is killing me.
