Enamorándome de Ramón, #112, 1/8/2018: The Fallen Gambler and the UnSon Hero

Alt. Titles:
A Losing Loser Loses it
Who's (NOT) Your Daddy?
A Loser's Sh*t Hits the Fan
Geez, You're Adopted? Don't Worry, Be Happy
Julio has some 'Splainin' to do...to Every One
Julio is at the casino and has just won so he takes a swig. Meanwhile, Juana prays to St. Jude (Dr. Parrot must be on the farm spreading his wings…or has been sent out to look for Julio, we can't trust Juana with a drone, can we?) asking that nothing bad happened to Don Julio. She thinks it’ll be enough when he finds out his son was near death and they had to amputate his leg. Juana asks that St. Jude protect Julio where ever he is…and whatever the motive was for him to disappear, that he be forgiven. Juana you may want to reconsider that forgiven part.
Luisa and Finito arrive at their home as Finito comments that he thinks Benito made up the story about going to see Nabor. Luisa wonders why he thinks that since Benito and Nabor have been friends for a long time. Finito questions the comments Benito made, but Luisa thinks he shouldn’t make a big deal of it; he should consider the source. Finito insists that Benito was insinuating something…and Benito couldn’t stop looking at Luisa. When Luisa thinks Benito was just trying to rile up Finito and suggests Finito ignore it, Finito smiles and agrees…it’s not worth getting upset with each other. After Finito decides to go rest and tells Luisa he will wait for her, Luisa thinks he may want some action and wonders what she should do. (Is she concerned that in the heat of passion she will get her Bs and Fs mixed and call him Benito?)

Benito arrives home smiling and greets Ada who wonders why he’s in such a good mood. Benito shares that things went wonderfully with Luisa. He thinks they will be successful in separating Finito and Luisa since he encountered her the previous night and they ended up kissing. Ada squeals with happiness and wonders why Benito hadn’t mentioned this to her, so Benito explains he just hadn’t had the opportunity, but what he can say is that Luisa luuurves him! Once he wins her back, Ada will have her opportunity with the sandwich maker. Ada then wonders how long it will take, but Benito isn’t sure; in the meantime, he will start sending Luisa all the letters he has written to her so it’ll be clear to her that she is the woman of his life. As Ada gets up and hugs Benito saying that they will be so happy, Fredes comes out and sees them. Fredes smiles and silently thinks that these two will end up marrying. (Yup, but not to EACH OTHER!)
The Next Day—
Mother Anselma goes into Betito’s room and asks the Sister when it happened. When the Sister replies, “At dawn,” Mother Anselma says, “My little one. Finally, his soul is resting. As she gently rests her hand on his head, she tells him,” You came into this world like a little angel, and you left in the same way. May God have him in his holy glory.” Mother Anselma comments that she must find his father however she can. He hasn’t answered any of his calls. She then tells the Sister to call the funeral home; and she will move heaven and earth to find Julio. After she gives Betito a blessing, she tells him to rest in peace, then leaves.
At Julio’s, Andrea and Jorge are asleep on the couch when the doorbell rings. Jorge doesn’t think it’s his father unless he lost his keys (like he lost all the money). Juana has come to ask if they have heard anything, but they haven’t. Juana can’t suggest they call the police, because the 911 operator already told her they needed to wait 72 hours before they could report him missing. Jorge is going to the hospital hoping that he will be allowed to see Oozie. Juana offers to make breakfast, so Andrea agrees and will help while Jorge takes a shower. As they go to the kitchen, the phone rings; so Juana answers it. Mother Anselma asks for Julio, but when Juana tells her he isn’t there, Mother Anselma leaves a message that his son passed away. Juana thinks she is talking about Oozie, Mother Anselma clarifies that she isn’t talking about Osvaldo; she is talking about Betito. Juana tells Mother Anselma that she thinks there is an error because Julio doesn’t have a son named “Betito,” but Jorge stops her and takes the phone (as her pigtails are ready to explode). When Jorge asks Mother Anselma if she is asking about Betito, Mother Anselma asks, “Am I talking to Jorge?” Jorge replies, “You know me?” Mother Anselma then responds, “Yes. From what I can see, Don Julio never told you anything.” When Jorge wonders what “anything” she is talking about, Mother Anselma responds, “About your brother, Betito. It’s too delicate an issue to talk about over the phone, can you please come?” Jorge agrees to go and asks for the address. After Mother Anselma tells Jorge who she is and that she is the director of the Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Jorge assures her that he is on his way. After he hangs up, Jorge tells Juana that it seems he has another brother, Betito. He continues that he remembers hearing his father saying Betito’ s name and asked who he was…and Julio told him he must have been delirious when he mentioned it. Jorge shakes his head in disbelief. When he tells Andrea and Juana that he is going to find out what this is all about, Andrea and Juana want to go with him.
At the casino, Julio is still gambling and sweating bullets as he keeps losing. Meanwhile, Jorge, Andrea and Juana arrive at the nursing home. Mother Anselma thanks them for coming and informs them that she has been trying to reach Julio since the day before yesterday. Betito became critically ill and passed away this morning. When Juana asks who Betito is, Mother Anselma takes a deep breath and addresses Jorge as she tells him that this should have been Julio’s responsibility to tell him. Julio told her he would explain this to Jorge someday, but she sees it didn’t happen; his mother was going to tell him right before she died. Jorge urges Mother Anselma to explain how it is that he has another brother. Mother Anselma starts her story, “Your mother gave birth in the hospital where I worked; the baby was born ill. The doctors didn’t think he would live very long, but he lasted all these years until early this morning. Your mother and father were always attentive of him; and recently your mother wanted to take him to live at home with you all. She had made that decision when she had the accident in which she died. When Jorge asks about Betito’s age and if Betito was born after him, Mother Anselma tells him, “No, he was born at the same time you were born.” Jorge is taken aback and wonders if Betito was his twin. Mother Anselma responds, “No. Your real mother died when you were born. Virginia, who was then in the same hospital, found out. Since she had so many hopes of having a son and thought that Betito was not going to survive, she took you in her arms and never wanted to be separated from you. They wanted to register you as their son.” Jorge is still in disbelief, but then realizes he is not his parent’s son. Mother Anselma confirms that he isn’t…not by blood.

Jorge wonders why his parents never told him, so Mother Anselma tries to justify that his parents surely were going to tell him, but the years passed…and it just didn’t happen. Jorge can’t believe it and wonders why his parents did this to him. When Mother Anselma tells him that she is sure his parents loved him as a son, Jorge asks her who his mother was. Mother Anselma then shares that his mother’s name was Blanca Pasqual and she was from Veracruz. She had no family and arrived at the hospital to give birth. When Jorge asks about his father, Mother Anselma replies that only God knows. Though distraught, Jorge asks to see Betito, so Mother Anselma nods and asks him to go with her. After they leave, Andrea and Juana look at each other in dismay; and Juana takes a deep breath. (Is that one pigtail curling around like an elephant's trunk?)
In Betito’s room, Mother Anselma reiterates that Betito was born impaired; he never was conscious of anything. His life was only a passing of earth. Jorge feels like he took Betito’s place, but Mother Anselma consoles him and tells him that only God knows the place we are to have on earth. When she tells him that he gave Virginia the happiness she needed, Jorge agrees that Virginia loved him as a son, but he doesn’t know if his father feels the same way. Mother Anselma assures him that his father does love him. After Jorge puts his hand on Betito’s head and wishes that he rest in peace, he leaves; and Mother Anselma covers Betito’s head.
Outside the nursing home, Juana suggests to Andrea that they will need to stay close to Jorge because finding out that he is adopted is no little thing; he must be having a lot of mixed feelings. Andrea assures Juana that she will not leave his side, but angrily states that the one who will hear from her till the day he dies is her Uncle Julio. Juana thinks Julio must have an explanation, but Andrea wonders what kind of explanation he could have. When Julio should have said something, he remained quiet…he could have told Jorge that we weren’t cousins; he is a jerk. Just then Jorge comes out so Andrea goes to him and gives him a hug.
At Finito’s house, Luisa shouts to him that if he wants to accompany her to her job, he needs to hurry so she won’t be late. As she waits, she looks at the mail and sees an envelope with Benito’s handwriting and thinks he is crazy. As she quickly puts it in her purse, Finito comes out ready to go; so Luisa hands him his mail, but Finito will review it later so she won’t be late to work.
At Juana’s, Ramón arrives with sweet bread for breakfast. When he asks for his mother, Fabi tells him she went to Julio’s, but she has taken long, so she calls Juana who very quickly recounts (over the phone!) how they got a call from Mother Anselma and what they have found out. When Fabi is shocked to hear that Jorge is adopted, she asks how he is; so Juana tells her that he is distraught and doesn’t understand why they never told him the truth. Fabi angrily asks, “What kind of dark-sided person could my uncle be? Why would he do that?” Juana doesn’t know and doesn’t understand (Surprise, surprise!). As the Sisters wave to Juana, she tells Fabi that she has to go see if the Sisters need something for the funeral. After Fabi hangs up, both she and Ramón are in disbelief that Jorge is adopted and he never knew. Ramón thinks her uncle is very strange. Just then, Marg arrives asking for Julio; so Fabi tells her they haven’t heard from him. When Fabi asks Marg if she knew that Julio had a son named Betito and that Jorge is adopted, Marg is stunned; so Fabi recounts what Juana told her.
At the casino, Julio loses with a pair of queens—at least 60 thousand pesos. As the winner starts to leave, Julio grabs his arm and demands a rematch…just the two of them, but the man tells him he needs to know how to be a LOSER! (We think he has it down pat, yes?)
At the nursing home, Andrea remarks to Jorge that however things may be, he had a mother that loved him very much.  Jorge has no doubts about that since she was always very loving toward him. When Andrea adds that Virginia loved him since that very first day, Jorge wonders if this is what Virginia wanted to tell them that last day; Andrea nods and agrees. Jorge wonders how they could have lived with the secret for so many years; and Andrea thinks it would have been best for everyone if they had revealed the secret…and his father better have a good explanation for all of this. Jorge asks Andrea if she can imagine how it feels to find out that you are not who you think you are, not knowing what your origin is…knowing that your parents are not you parents, and that you took over someone else’s place. When Andrea tells Jorge not to think about that anymore and assures him he is a great person; and that is the only thing that matters, Jorge argues that it’s not that easy…one needs to know their origin, their roots…and he doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life wondering where he came from. Andrea thinks that the important thing is how he was raised; in the end, he had a family and parents that loved him very much…Julio in his own way, but Jorge shouldn’t doubt that Julio loves him. When Andrea points out that if all this hadn’t happened, they would have never met, Jorge nods but states his mother’s (Blanca Pasqual) name…his mother was Blanc Pasqual. (Andrea must be thinking,” WooHoo! May be time to revisit that baby-making issue we HAD, Mr. Pasqual?”)
As Francystco enters a bedroom, Carlos calls him to tell him that Peralta wants to meet with him to finalize the purchase of his office. Francystco pauses, but then advises Carlos to tell Peralta that they can meet with the notary public as soon as possible and that he will need 500,000 pesos in cash…the rest can be in a certified check. When Carlos wonders why he wants cash, Francystco responds that he won’t have to report the money. After he hangs up, Francystco comments that this will help him get out of the country.
At the hospital, Lt. Felipe Malo comes in to tell Oozie that he is being transferred to the prison where he can make his statement since the doctor has told them he is stable enough to be transferred. When Oozie demands to see his attorney, Lt. Malo informs him that when he is assigned a public defender, he can talk to the attorney. Oozie states he doesn’t want a public defender and tells them to contact Marg, his aunt…he wants her to defend him. After Lt. Malo tells him that is his right, he orders that they proceed to take Oozie.
In his office, Noe calls to Julio’s office but is told he is not there. He curses Julio and knows Julio is eluding him.
Luisa arrives at Julio’s home and reads Benito’s letter: Little monkey, you got married; and no matter how much I try, I can’t accept that I have lost you. There isn’t a moment that I don’t think about the five years I lived at your side filled with happiness. I can’t sleep; I spend every night thinking that you are in someone else’s arms. I regret not having the courage to confront my mother to tell her how much I love you. Your little monkey. Luisa sighs deeply as she refolds the letter; and as she holds it close to her heart, she calls out Benito’s name.
At Juana’s, Marg remarks that Julio has never been transparent about anything, but to hide that he had another son and that Jorge is adopted is the last straw. Fabi agrees and adds that she can’t believe that when they found out Andrea and Jorge loved each other, Julio didn’t speak up. Fabi feels sorry for Jorge…having to find out that he is adopted must be very distressing. Ramón doesn’t want to sound like he is defending Julio, but in his humble opinion, parents sometimes conceal things to protect their children. (Shut up Moon!) Marg wonders if Ramón actually thinks that concealing this protected Jorge. She thinks quite the opposite...this could have psychological consequences for him; he must feel out of control. Fabi comments that Jorge is very strong and hopes he can overcome this and move on with his life. Just then, Marg gets the call from Lt. Malo to inform her that they will be transferring Oozie to the prison and that Oozie asked to talk to her. After Marg agrees to go meet Lt. Malo and shares the information with Fabi and Ramón, Fabi is sure Oozie wants her to defend him and asks Marg what she’s is going to do. Marg shrugs her shoulders and responds that she will go see him. After Marg leaves, Fabi complains about how Oozie has the audacity to ask Marg for help after all he has done to them. Ramón argues that she is his aunt…it can’t be denied; but he wouldn’t want to be in Marg’s shoes (Shut up Moon). Fabi thinks that Julio should be the one to be taking care of these situations…in regards to Oozie and Jorge…and his other son who just passed away. (Who woke you up, Fabi?)
At the nursing home, Mother Anselma informs Juana that they will take care of the funeral services for Betito. Juana isn’t sure what Don Julio may want to do; he may want to put Betito’s ashes beside Virginia’s, but since he hasn’t shown up…Mother Anselma asks that she be informed as soon as he shows up; he needs to say good-bye to his son. Juana then gives Mother Anselma her contact information in case she needs help. Before Juana leaves, Mother Anselma asks that she take care of Jorge; Juana assures her she will since he is loved so much. Meanwhile at the casino, Julio hangs his head as he loses once again.
At the hospital, Marg enters to see Oozie. After Oozie thanks her, he tells her she has to help him because he doesn’t want to live behind bars. Marg asks if he was assigned a public defender, but Oozie wants her to defend him. When Marg chides him for not thinking about all the damage he has caused for his family, Oozie knows he made an error; he shouldn’t have gotten into that business. (And your first clue was...........?) After he reminds her that she is his aunt and she can’t abandon him, Marg points out that is the only reason she is there, but she will not defend him. He tries to plead with her, but Marg won’t be swayed and tells him to think of the consequences of his actions. She won’t lie to him; they will give him many years in prison…at least 20. Oozie cries as he grabs her hand and tells her she cannot allow this to happen to him; he is her family. After she insists that she won’t do it, Oozie growls “Then get out! Leave! Tell my father to come; he will help me!” Marg retorts, “If he shows up!” and storms out.

At the other funeral home, Valente asks Benito how his love story is going, so Benito tells him he left Luisa a letter before coming to work…he threw it under the door. When Valente wonders what will happen if Finito finds it, Benito remarks that Finito should know what he’s up against. Benito will do whatever it takes to get Luisa back; he will even confront Finito, if necessary. Valente doesn’t think a love letter will end that marriage, but Benito knows that when words come from the heart, there is no woman that can resist. Benito gives a Valente a sample of “words from the heart” but Valente only smiles and shakes his head.
Ada is at her workstation when Luisa goes to talk to her…woman-to-woman. Ada was thinking of seeking out Luisa too; she assumes Luisa wants to talk about Benito. Luisa confirms that is who she wants to talk about since they have nothing else in common, so Ada confides that there has never been anything between her and Benito; she only loves Benito as a cousin. They only said they were going to get married as a ploy to bring Luisa to her senses so she wouldn’t marry Finito. When Ada assures Luisa that Benito has never stopped loving her and thinks Luisa hasn’t forgotten him either, Luisa smirks and shrugs as she tells Ada that Finito is a good man and she thought she would find some happiness, but it’s just not like that. Ada suggests that they get a divorce, but Luisa explains that Finito is the type that believes marriage is forever. Ada questions whether he feels like that even though neither are happy, so Luisa adds that he is content with it. Ada slips and tells Luisa she doesn’t think so but recovers the fumble when she adds that Finito probably feels that Luisa doesn’t love him the way he expected she would. Luisa thinks about it, but has to leave so Ada suggests that she not wait too long because she and Benito are no spring chickens. After Luisa leaves, Ada smiles as she knows she just pushed forward a few yards.
At the sub shop, Finito scolds Teófilo for taking too long. When Teófilo explains that Don Cuco needed his shoulder to cry on because he is separating from his wife, Finito thinks that is very bad since marriage is forever…it’s sacred. Teófilo agrees but since Don Cuco’s wife cheated on him because he didn’t fulfill her needs, he had no choice. When Teófilo suggests that Finito try to put himself in Don Cuco’s place, Finito takes offense and wonders why he should put himself in that place. He tells Teófilo not to say such foolishness. Once alone, Finito worries (and wonders when his “As Seen on TV” pills will arrive).
At Juana’s, Juana arrives as Ramón and Fabi are helping by making lunch. After she tells them that Jorge went to Julio’s house with Andrea and finds out they haven’t heard from him, Juana finally admits that there is no way to defend Julio; what they just found out is terrible. Fabi thinks it’s incredible that her uncle kept this to himself and Juana doesn’t understand it either. When Ramón asks about Jorge, Juana shares he didn’t fare well; Jorge spent some time with Betito and listened to the Mother Superior when she told him his history. When Fabi assumes that Betito and Jorge are the same age, Juana responds, “Uh-hah. They were born the same day. Your Aunt Virginia fell in love with Jorge and, thinking that Betito would not last very long and Jorge was an orphan, they adopted him.” After Ramón wonders why Betito didn’t live with his parents, Juana replies that the Mother Superior told them they didn’t think he would live very long, but the only one that can really answer that question is Don Julio...if he is willing to do so. Juana cries as she shares that she doesn’t know what to think anymore; so Ramón, not meaning to add fuel to the fire, adds that the fact that Julio has not shown up gives much food for thought…if he can hide his own son, he can hide anything else (that's better Moon). Juana has thought about that; and Fabi adds that at this point, she doesn’t know who Julio is.
At Julio’s, Andrea and Jorge enter somberly. When Luisa wonders why, Jorge shares that all his life, he thought he was part of the family, but it isn’t so…he is adopted. When Luisa asks where he got that idea, Jorge and Andrea recount how they found out about Betito and Jorge. Luisa is sorry and adds that only God knows why he does these things, but they should look at the bright side; they are not cousins and no one can judge them anymore. Jorge wants to know why his father didn’t tell him knowing that he was in love with Andrea. Just then, Noe bangs on the door and demands to see Julio…and they’d better not tell him he’s not there. Jorge approaches and asks what is going on, so Noe scowls that he has been trying to contact Julio for days and Julio doesn’t want to show his face…he is not moving from there until Julio shows up! Noe tries to step inside, but Jorge stops him and tells he will not enter. As Noe yells at Jorge demanding that he not hide Julio, Juana, Ramón, and Fabi hear the shouts and rush over. As Jorge heatedly retorts that they haven’t seen his father for two days, Juana arrives to hear that Julio is probably hiding because he owes Noe money. Juana asks what’s going on, so Jorge quickly tells her and Noe adds that Julio owes him 350,000 pesos. After Noe offers to show him the note Julio signed and says he will not move from there until he is paid, Juana asks why Julio owes him so much money. Noe reveals that Julio lost it playing poker…and it’s not the first time Julio has owed him money. Noe then warns that Julio better pay up or he will take legal action. When he accuses them of hiding Julio, Ramón interjects that no one is hiding anyone so Noe needs to tone it down because that is no way to resolve things. Ramón adds that if Noe knows Julio so well, he should tell them where Julio usually gambles so they can go look for him. Noe gives them the name of the casino (Four Kings Casino) as he starts to tone down.
At the Four Kings Casino, a very drunk Julio reminds the cage cashier that he has been coming to the casino for many years and everyone knows him; he demands preferential treatment and tells the cage cashier he needs credit so he can continue playing. When the cage cashier tells him it’s the company’s policy not to give credit to anyone, Julio totally loses it and yells that he doesn’t give a sh*t (actually he said cumin, but we know he meant sh*t) about what the company policy says!

He continues that he has lost a fortune (which used to belong to Andrea) in this place; and the only thing he is asking for is 100,000 pesos. Julio offers the cage cashier his watch and is willing to take 50,000 or whatever the cashier is willing to give him. As the cage cashier tells him he can’t give him anything, Juana and Ramón approach from behind and they hear Julio yelling that the cashier doesn’t know him and pleading for 50,000 pesos.  As he demands that the cashier take the watch Juana calls out his name and is dismayed at his behavior. When she asks him what he is doing there (following suit with her lack of brains), he obnoxiously replies, “Playing, can’t you see? What we all do when we come to this place…play, play, play, play… ” Juana tries to get him to leave, but Julio refuses. He isn’t going anywhere; he had a bad streak and he is going to recover. When Juana tells him he has to go see Betito, he asks, “Betito, what? What do you know of Betito?” Juana responds that she knows everything; Mother Anselma looked for him for two days. Julio retorts that Mother Anselma had no right to call her; he told her a thousand times…Betito is his business; no one needs to know of his existence! When he threatens that the nun will be hearing from him, Ramón tells him that the Mother Superior called to let him know that his son had died. Julio is stupefied and asks, “What? Betito is dead? What?” Juana confirms that Betito is dead and tells him that he needs to go say his last good-bye, but Julio thinks they are lying and doesn’t believe that Betito could be dead. After he repeats that Betito is fine, he grabs Ramón by his collar and tells him to lend him some money, whatever he has on him…he has to play. As he continues to demand money, Ramón tells him he isn’t going to lend him anything and that he should listen to Juana; they need to go. Julio lets Ramón go and steps back shouting, “No, I am not leaving this place! Do what you want; you will have to drag me out! I am not going to leave…!” After Ramón looks at Juana and asks her to excuse him, he gives Julio a quick right jab knocking him out (Juana's pigtails are twirling).  As the security men approach, Ramón tells them everything is fine; Julio is family and got out of hand; they are taking him away already. (After the Cyst capture and escape debacle, Ramoon has been practicing with his Rockem Sockem Robots.)

Marg arrives at Antonio’s and asks for Diego. After Antonio tells her he is asleep, Marg tells him about going to see Oozie and refusing to defend him. When Antonio asks how Oozie is, Marg shares that he had to have his leg amputated, but remains as arrogant as ever. Oozie doesn’t acknowledge his mistake for getting into those types of business. Antonio then asks for Julio, so Marg frowns and tells him he hasn’t shown up. When she adds that Julio has another son and Jorge is adopted, Antonio is in disbelief so she continues to recount how everyone found out. She is dismayed at the “fichita”/good-for-nothing of a brother she has (ficha is actually a bottle cap…which is pretty much worthless).
At the casino, Juana hands Julio some coffee hoping that his drunken stupor will subside. After Ramón asks Julio for his keys, he helps him up and they take him away. Later in the car, Julio is leaning on Juana as he tells her not to be mad; gambling is not a crime. Juana remains silent; so Julio tells her not to ignore him; he wants her to tell him she loves him and starts to get frisky as Ramón watches through the rearview mirror. Juana, however, is able to fight him off and tells him to behave; so Julio complies. (Unbelievably, Ramoon does not pitch him out and then back over him with the car.)   When Julio asks where they are going, Juana tells him they are going to see his son, Betito, so he can see him one last time. When Julio asks if he died, Juana confirms it; and Julio cries as Juana pats his head.
At the nursing home, the nuns are praying the rosary over Betito’s body as a disheveled Julio walks in. As Julio approaches Betito, he cries as Mother Anselma tells him she tried to contact him and is very sorry he couldn’t say a last good-bye to Betito. When he asks how Betito died, Mother Anselma replies that he left at dawn in a last breath like the angel he always was; he is now resting at our Father’s side. Julio cries over his son’s body.

Later, Juana and Ramón help Julio into his bedroom. As they start to leave, Julio grabs Juana’s hand and asks her not to leave him alone, but she tells him to go to sleep so he can get over his drunken state. He pleads with her to stay, but she snaps her hand out of his and tells him to let her go. When he asks why she says that, she repeats that he should go to sleep; it’s not a good time to talk. Julio continues to plead that she not leave him alone. She doesn’t know how sad he is…Betito died. They had waited for him with so many hopes. That’s why they loved Jorge so much; all the love they had for Betito, they gave it to him. After Juana tells him that Jorge will not forgive him for not telling him, Julio doesn’t want to hear that…he loves him very much. Meantime, in the living room, Ramón asks Jorge how he feels. Jorge replies, “Bad, disappointed. I don’t know how I will forgive him for concealing who I am and where I came from. I don’t know why he did it; he is selfish and only thought of himself.” Fabi comments that they are all disappointed and adds that it shouldn’t matter where he was born or what his origin is. They love him for whom he is; and not just them. There are many people that love him because he is sweet, nice, and noble…with a huge heart; that’s the only thing he should care about. Ramón agrees with Fabiola; Jorge has been a good friend and the only one that has gotten close to Ramón in good times and in bad…and that is worth gold. When Andrea tells Jorge that he is the love of her life and asks what else could matter, Jorge thanks her. Andrea then suggests that the go to their home, so Jorge agrees since that place stifles him. After Andrea and Jorge leave, Fabi rants about how Julio is unforgivable. If Julio can lie about so many things and now that they know he is a chronic gambler, she worries that he lost the money Andrea had trusted him with.  Ramón agrees, but wonders how they could find out since Julio reacted so badly when Andrea asked for the account information.  Fabi has even more doubts because of Julio’s reaction. When she sees Julio’s laptop, she wonders if Julio has any information there. Once they look at the file with Andrea’s name on it, Fabi and Ramón see all the withdrawals…and that the balance is ZERO…  (They should wait until he is sobers up to kill him.)

There were so many good titles for this one, I couldn't resist listing some of them...

Alfredo, your wish came true! Julio's skeleton's all came bursting out!!

Chickie, thank you for this detailed recap despite your busy days with the kids.

I cannot express how little I care about Ada ,Ben, Lu, and Fin. Do.Not.Care.

Well , it has officially hit the fan for Fichito. (I am writing that one down.)Boohoo...Ooze crying to his tia to get him out of the mess that be got himself into , and Fichito crying to Juana. When drunken Fichito was blubbering and pawing Juana in the back seat, I was hoping that Ramoom was saying, "Don't make me stop this car !!"

My, My, My, KidMama. Excellent work, and you actually had something to work with. I enjoyed every sentence. Oh, I liked the show as well, but it didn't quite have your pizzaz.
As far as Julio, they are not going to let him off by pretending it was the alcohol are they? I mean, when a DUI perp kills someone, they are actually still considered guilty even when they are bombed out of their mind. Right?

So pissed off Mr. No No Noe, may have a bit of a problem, as Julio doesn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out. He can sue all he wants and might get a watch and a car covered in whiskey dents and a few poker chips in the console. If Julio had any savings or investments they are loooong gone. I really like the part about throwing Julio out and backing over him, but RaMoon is just too nice.

As the show ended, Andrea and Jorge have not heard the bad news yet. It seems to travel at twice the speed of light in this group, so they probably know by now. :-)
When the shock of learning about his heritage subsides, Jorge may count his blessings.

I hopeo to hell they let us see the conversation between Juana and Dr. Parrot when she asks him if she should go ahead and marry Julio. The feathers are gonna fly ! He will bust out of that cage, drag her outside by a pigtail and pecker some sense into her skull.

When will they find out that in addition to gambling away her money, Julio saved a small portion of it to pay someone to poison her land? He is unforgivable. Oh shoot, I just noticed, Whortensia is not in the tell all loop and knows nothing yet. That should be fun too. Will she have a Mother / Son chat? Will she hire someone to kill him? Or herself? Yowzers.

Thank you, Susy and Kirby!

Susy, seems like Oozie is most definitely his father's son...nut...tree!

Kirby, my goodness if they use that "alcohol" excuse...that will be just CRAY CRAY! Wouldn't this be the first time any of them saw Julio plastered? Surely they won't think that all those withdrawals were made while he was drunk?! and how would alcohol keep him from telling Jorge the truth when Jorge and Andrea were found out...

In regards to paying Noe or returning at least a portion of the money he stole from Andrea, he could sell his home and go live with Horhellia. That was the same building Roxana lived in and I remember Antonio telling her to sell her apartment to pay her bail.

More tomorrow...

Thank you Rgv Chick & Ghost for a great recap..

Andrea seems broke but her sister Fabiola has some $ left even though Francisco has swindled a goof portion of it. Perhaps when the police catch him before he flies the copy Marg can petition the court that any ill gotten gains go back to Fabiola and she can shore what left with Andrea.

I want the anvil to fall hard on Julio not just for the theft, and the shabby way he has treated everyone but the mastermind of poisoning the land of Fab's farm. He needs to make restitution (how, only God knows); or better yet he lands in jail - he could share a cell wth Ozzie.

And Sophia needs her wings clipped. I think we can just let Hortensia go crazy.

Hello, thanks for the recap! I don't watch this show at all but does anyone know when Me Declaro Culpable air? Is it after Enamorandome de Tontos ends? I've been reading Stevey's posts to keep up on it.

Well you were on fire with this one Octoplusmom. Every little parenthesis contained a zinger and I loved your leitmotif of Juana's wretched pigtails pivoting and curling with each new dreadful revelation. (I kept looking at her last night and it appears that they have put a wretched wig on top of her head. Does NOT look real)

I agree with you that at times, Ramón sounded as credulous as his mama, trying to rationalize Julio and Virginia failure to tell Jorge he's adopted. And couldn't help putting myself in Jorge's place and experiencing the free fall that would come if you suddenly found out you weren't at all who you thought you were. Only a name for your birth mother, not even that for your father. It would be so overwhelming and disorienting. And the way everybody jumped in to say "So what, you're a great guy, we love you." was absolutely useless. I wish they had just shut up for a while and let the poor guy process the information. (Your "Don't worry be happy" title was right on)

Well, this pot is definitely coming to a boil now. Fun to see the, er, "cumin" hit the fan. Thanks for a rollicking recap and great screen caps RGV Chick. You and the Ghostwriter are a great team!

Rgv Chick:

Your wry, savvy title was perfectly on point.

So many sensational lines including: “(Dr. Parrot must be on the farm spreading his wings…or has been sent out to look for Julio, we can't trust Juana with a drone, can we?)”, "(Is that one pigtail curling around like an elephant's trunk?)" and "the man tells him he needs to know how to be a LOSER! (We think he has it down pat, yes?).

While I savored your humor it was your beautifully crafted, serious comments that touched my heart: “As she gently rests her hand on his head, she tells him,” You came into this world like a little angel, and you left in the same way. May God have him in his holy glory”. Teary eyed again this morning.

"When he asks how Betito died, Mother Anselma replies that he left at dawn in a last breath like the angel he always was; he is now resting at our Father’s side. Julio cries over his son’s body". Beautiful.

And while Julio's meteoric crash to earth was expected, it was fast, furious and fiery. And when all is done, it is not the stolen money that is the worst violation, it is the loss of one son who was not acknowledged and the pain of another son whose identity was buried.

I have no doubt that the Madre and her sisters loved, cherished and took great care of Betito. I am certain he is in heaven now, reunited with his mother.

And while I think people who are kind always have the initial instinct to comfort and support, Jorge needed time to absorb and process, just as mi amiga Judy noted.

Julio's list of transgressions is long (actually I even forgot about him poisoning Andrea's land - thanks for reminding us Kirby). I don't know that he can atone, but I hope he spends the rest of his life trying.

Your screen shots, every word was beautiful RgvChick. Thank you...

Diana

RVG Chick: Karma hitting Julio BIGLY!

Not shocked Benito passed away though since Julio didn't give an EXPLETIVE about him.

Julio also cleaned out accounts fast & the Body Language of Fabiola was obvious.

Diana: Juana is getting on my nerves! She still wants to forgive the creep ? SMH.

Judy: What's the angle of Sofia's Daddy in all of this backstabbing & scheming ?

Octoplusmom, KidMama, Ha! If you know RGV Chik, 'Kidding' takes on a whole new meaning doesn't it?

Good Morning Rocking patio. It is surely satisfying to see things moving past endless breakups--makeups with Fabi and RaMoon.

It will be interesting to see how Julio reacts when he wakes up: 1. Hungover, 2. Sober, 3. Broke, 4. Hated by all humanity. I just hopeo the family gets together and reqalizes, that as Julio lost Betito, and Jorge was never actually his, that he should be with his only living Son. Prison.

It was cute that Cyst is checking into Motel 6 as he can't even go home. I am really looking forward to the trainwreck which will surely be his capture. Note to RaMoon: Let the popo do this. You turned off Julio's lights, but the shape he was in, Diego and a friend could have done the same.

realizes (big fingers, small keyboard) it happens

People like Julio are the main reason why we try to be careful with our money. Where it comes from, where we keep it, how it is going to be made and how we will spend it are the four main questions we always have to ask ourselves regarding money. You even have to be careful around family members because a leopard never changes his spots.

Julio's main enemy was pride. He could always said 'I'm a scumbag gambler Andrea, please don't trust me with your money. Keep it somewhere safe, away from me". But no, he just had to be greedy and lie like a good ole chap.

good morning, all. It was nice to have some snappy comments to enjoy with my coffee. Schools are on a twohour delay this morning.

It looks as though SAt. Anthony has stopped talking to Juana. Even he cannot stand her wishy-washiness. Dr. parrot must have finally flown the coop. Start bird.

Fabu finally used her tech skills and knows the truth. Besides Julio making the money disappear, poisoning the soil is going to have an impact on that land for a long time. They cannot farm it , and they cannot sell it. Nice , long-term evil, Julio. I have said it before , and I will say it again...dumb is dangerous and some people are their own worst enemies.

Count, good point about the money, and for Julio it is probably even more than that. SusanLynn has said many times Julio is the ultimate Narcissist, and that is so true. Julio ONLY cares about his gambling habit, and everything else is secondary to satisfying that pursuit.

He cares not one flip about Andrea, his sons, his wife, and ultimately, himself. Thus he would not even think about warning Andrea about himself, as the consequences of his gambling away her money are not even on his radar. Like the original Terminator movie, except with a different objective.

I just do not want to see a sliver of forgiveness from anyone.

Steve: Where on the planet did you get that Juana wants to forgive Julio?

Thank you, Rgv Chick. Great recap, funny, touching, illustrated.

Julio is going to wake up to a very unpleasant reality. The family is going to take turns kicking him. Like Kirby said, people, get in line, no pushing.

Even if Jorge needs time to process, the kind words and expression of love that he received from everybody are helpful. When he is ready, it will be something that will help him restore the balance.

people, get in line, no pushing.
:-)

And if you believe that there is a shred of inheritance in gambling, (look at Ooze) Jorge will thank an unseen, unknown, Father for his genes when he gets used to the idea.

Kirby: ROLL TIDE ROLL BABY!

17 National Championships for Bama!!!!

Steve, Ya. Cool that both teams were from the Southeastern Conference.

Good Morning!

Great comments to start the day! As I read, I envisioned Julio on a big pinwheel with us in line ready to throw eggs, rotten tomatoes, whatever...

CountxAlacran, The TV Listings show that "Cronicas: Historias Que Hacen Historia" will be airing after Ramon finishes, so it seems no TN will replace it...maybe in the future???

Anon 2:10, I'm hoping that Julio is forced to sell his apartment and everything else he owns so he can pay Andrea at least some of the money he stole from her.

Diana, "And while Julio's meteoric crash to earth was expected, it was fast, furious and fiery. And when all is done, it is not the stolen money that is the worst violation, it is the loss of one son who was not acknowledged and the pain of another son whose identity was buried." So masterfully stated and so true! Julio can be made to replace (some of) the money, but there is no way he can redeem himself for denying a son and denying another child's identity.

Judy, "And the way everybody jumped in to say "So what, you're a great guy, we love you." was absolutely useless." I am with you on that, yet we have Lucio who commented, "Even if Jorge needs time to process, the kind words and expression of love that he received from everybody are helpful." This is also true as it shows that there are so many people who love him and are there to support him, but I still think they should have been a little more understanding of the pain and anguish Jorge was feeling about not knowing his parents or heritage. Maybe if Andrea or someone would have told him that they would help him search for his ancestors/family (later), it would have seemed tht they were more supportive intha aspect. I was also stunned at the way Juana just blurted it out to Fabi in that phone call..it just seemed so cold and matter-of-factly.

Kirby, "Note to RaMoon: Let the popo do this (capture the Cyst). You turned off Julio's lights, but the shape he was in, Diego and a friend could have done the same" You're so right! I kept replaying that scene and they never actually showed Ramoon hitting him...maybe he just pushed him and Julio hit his head! AND " SusanLynn has said many times Julio is the ultimate Narcissist, and that is so true. Julio ONLY cares about his gambling habit, and everything else is secondary to satisfying that pursuit." DITTO!

Susy, I was glad to see Fabi use her tech skills too...and Holy Moly she didn't need Antonio or Pedro to look over the account and figure out the ZERO balance!

Thanks RGV!

It was fun seeing Julio taken down. If Betito has been unconscious his whole life why wasn't he hooked up to a feeding tube and a waste bag? I remember when Julio and his wife went to visit him and he wasn't hooked up to anything then either.

Marg could have a successful practice just taking on her family's cases. If there was an award for most needed character she would win hands down.

Lucio, I agree. When you are devastated by some sling or arrow of outrageous fortune, sometimes the only comfort is having those around you tell you and show you their support and unconditional love. Sometimes ,it is all you can do whether you are on the giving or receiving end of the caring words and actions. I know that I have been saved several times by those around me. My best friend lost her husband about a year ago, and she told someone that Hubba and I had saved her just by being around and letting her know that we loved her. Jorge will process this shocking news, and he will be able!e to do so knowing he has friends and family who love him.

CHickie..yeah, Fabu may not be a math whiz, but she knows what zero means !!!

Ah thanks RgvChick. I'm looking forward to Me Declaro Culpable but not to Irina Baeva but because of goddess Daniela Castro!

A lot of characters, even the bad guys did self-destructive things but they had the luck to repent of them and learned to move on. The best example would be Arturo Peniche's character in A Que No Me Dejas. In the first half he was an absolute scumbag but in the second half he becomes a good guy through trial and error.

The second was Osvaldo Bonavides character in LQVR where he morphs from a scummy gigolo to our protagonist.

CHickie...I know one (luckily only one) narcissist who has Julio's addiction plus other addictions, and he wore a mask for years before our family saw his true personality. However, I decided that he would ruin my family over my cold ,dead body. I am still alive and still warm , and we have all survived. however, the whole messy mess did leave me shaken, stirred, and not as trusting as I used to be. Life is what happens to you while you are making other plans. Everyone eventually is taught that painful lesson . God will know us by our scars. Open wounds become scabs which become scars. #lessonslearned

I wish these last few anvil episodes could be like 'Groundhog Day', and we could continue seeing Julio, Ooze, Rulo, Dally, and Cyst getting their anvils until we tired of it.

Like at the start of every episode Julio will still be gambling happily along and Cyst would be counting the money he is one signature away from cheating Fabi out of, then all hell breaks loose and they start loosing body parts.

It would be like: "Ha! They have cut off almost every body part on old Cyst, tonight almost has to be the...." :-)

Alfredo: Margarita should get her anvil!!!

For WHAT?

Dear Susanlynn, I believe through "knowing" you, I am aware of who you are referring to.

"I am still alive and still warm , and we have all survived". You have - survivors all. God bless.

Diana

Seems rather ridiculous to me that Noe, knowing all about Julio's gambling, wouldn't automatically check the casino when looking for him. Even if he thought Julio was trying to evade him, he knows the gambling bug is stronger than common sense. It took dim Ra-moan to instantly figure it out ... yeah, right!

(((Diana)) one just has to hold on and try to move forward no matter what happens , right? I know that you have learned that lesson, too. Only the strong survive and continue on and appreciate the good that follows the bad.

Thank you everyone, for stopping by and providing your insightful thoughts. I always find new ways of looking at things after reading the comments.

Alfredo, I wasn’t that shocked that Marg refused to defend Oozie since his actions led to Antonio’s arrest and affected Fabi financially too. Maybe if Oozie hadn’t run and had taken responsibility for his mistakes, she would have been more apt to defend him.

Susy, I’ve never known anyone with serious addictions (thank God!). With the little time that I have been on Caray and read your communications, I can undoubtedly see that you are a strong, yet kind and thoughtful person. I’m glad that you, and Diana as well many others, have overcome such life-changing, traumatic experiences,

Thank you RgvChick and Ghost person.
This recap is nail biting my funny. And I got some ideas for Alt. titles for This Episode:
1. Lost much?
2. Daddy who?
3. Diarrhea has flooded the river bed.
4. See, what ha happin....
5. The bad DNA skipped you, REJOICE!!

Jauana need to go Rambo on His butt &
Cut off those pigtails and tell him What she really thinks. But she's so nice she wont.

Ozzys last stand...on one leg.Anvils is Really life changing.Maybe.He'll be an Arrogant jackass in prison too.

With all of that shouting last night
Horhellian didn't poke her nosey butt out To see what was the hollering was all about.

They must have something good planned
For fransticko.

Ok thank you RgvChick and the Ghost.

Susy said: 'I cannot express how little I care about Ada ,Ben, Lu, and Fin. Do.Not.Care.'
Amen Sister. Send that whole clan packing. Well maybe keep Ada's ...um...eyes and lips. Yeah she has the prettiest eyes and lips. Nice skin too.

And in the place of that junior high silliness give me more snake bites, amputations, guns, Anvils anvils, raining anvils, anvils for everybody.

Fly Parrot, fly. It's raining iron and steel.

OT: Grrrrrr.

Occasionally I will be typing madly along here in Blogger and I must mistakenly touch some secret key by mistake and Poof! A whole paragraph is gone, and the comment box is totally empty. And no frantic, 'edit' 'undo'.etc....etc will bring it back.

I have tried to discover it by typing in gibberish which I would gladly lose and then hitting random keys or combinations and it will not recur.

Kirby...I have the same problem on this weird 7" fire tablet. I have small fingers (size 4 ring on my ring finger) , but I always somehow hit the letter next to the one I want. Sometimes, I hit something and am thrown out of the forum. Technology..grrrrrr.

How bout typing a really good comment
Go through stuff, hit publish and the whole dang thing goes to La la land.
Don't it make you want pull jaja by
Them dang pigtails?

("Who woke you up fabi?)" Maybe that baby's 1 million braincells arefireing
Up that one brain cell she had. But who's gonna fire up daddy's braincell?
Poor baby!

Kirby: Who's the ugly person in the black dress with the purse in the first picture of the recap ?

Rgv Chick Thank you for the recap. I lost the signal due to weather and only saw part of the episode.

I did not see Julio lose it in the Casino.

I did see Osvaldo lose it when Maggie told him she would not defend him. She should be the main character of this TN. She is the only one with her head on straight.

Steve that is the one I call the Halloween lady, Luisa. She was the maid for ever since I can remember I P. Luchi that goofy comedy show where everyone and everything, including the family car, is covered in thick, long fake fur.
La Famalia P. Luchi

RGV Chick, I didn't get a chance to comment today, but I love the alternate titles and loved the screen shots. Thank you for your hard work!

Question: Was Juana wearing the engagement ring? I didn't see it this episode. Julio has lost his facade and she now sees him for the jerk he really is.

Enjoyed reading everyone's comments too.

I'm watching today's episode now and boy, Horrortensia sure is an enabler. And she calls Julio, "Mijito", like he is a little boy.

Susy and NiNa, I usually type mine in in Word or Office, and then when it is ready I just open Blogger and paste it in That method has been almost bulletproof. B U T....When I am reading the comments and want to answer something or have a real Brain?Storm I just grab the keyboard and start hammering away.

Susy I do not know how you do it all on a 7 inch tablet. I use a big full size Dell OptiPlex desktop and a fairly large monitor. I have a couple Samsung 8 or 9 inch tablets, and I can not seem to hold them and type at the same time without the holding hand creeping onto the screen and ruining my masterpiece.

I kept looking for her ring and never got a look at the hand.

Kirby..I do not like to use the office desktop computer. I prefer to sit on the sofa or on the patio glider in warm weather. Also, Hubba that computer fir business, so it is best for everyone for me to stay away from it;-)When I originally resisted getting a tablet, my older daughter said, "But ,Mom, you can read your telenovela blog in the living room !" Then, I dropped the Apple IPad HUbba bought me , so I bought a cheap 8" Le PEn which I am using now, and I like . I hold it in my left hand and type (hunt and peck) with my right hand! I hope I do not get carpal tunnel syndrome. The 7" Fire drives me crazy.

Yeah, I just like a big old desktop and I put 28inch monitors and backlit keyboards and mice on all them.

My big old clunky hands are just not suited to tablets and phones. I have also noticed, if your hands get calloused and dry from washing or chemicals, lots of times they will not work the touch screen very well.

Casn't wait to read the recap tonight.
