Papa a Toda Madre #5 1.19.17: Being a Father is Hard and Some Are Terrible At It

Anifer hears all the hurtful things Mauricio is saying about her and her mother and runs off, with tears in her eyes.

In Orlando, Veronica announces that she would like lobster and all the kids agree. They run off in search of the lobster stand as Veronica holds Tono back and asks him why he has such a long face. Tono asks her not to worry too much but there is the possibility that they will both be out of a job. He then runs off to control the kids as Veronica demands an explanation.

Neron arrives home and begins to pick up all of Milady’s toys as his kids knock on the door outside. They wonder what the probably is and Neron demands they are calm. After a few minutes, he lets them inside and they wonder why he’s being so weird. Ciceron notes that it doesn’t smell too bad, as fumigations usually do, and Socretes thinks the house is surprisingly tidy. Neron tells him not too think too much about it but Socretes wants to go to his room. Neron stops him and sits him down as Flor calls him and he runs to the kitchen. He doesn’t notice Ciceron pick up a pacifier nearby and show it to Socretes.

Moments later, Neron chides Flor for calling him but she explains that she’s tired of walking around, looking for things for Milady, and wants him to pick her up. Neron demands she sit in a park bench, which she was doing, and wait until he’s ready to pick her up. Flor asks him to calm down and he tells her he will before hanging up, much to her surprise. Ciceron and Socretes come into the kitchen then and demand to know why he has a pacifier in his house. Neron explains that they are their cousins, who remember they have an uncle, unlike them, but his sons joke that he is regressing and try to put the pacifier in his mouth.

Mauricio looks at some documents, as he walks down the Logatoys hall, but doesn’t notice Renee and knocks into her. He wonders what she’s made of, but Renee has more pressing business to attend to and demands he tell her the truth about Logatoy’s financial situation. Mauricio doesn’t have time to answer as Gladys interrupts them to ask about Anifer, who has disappeared. Renee is shocked to learn Anifer is Mauricio’s daughter, but he explains that live surprises you sometimes. He then tries to leave, as he as very important meeting, but Renee chides him for not helping to look for Anifer. Mauricio is taken aback by her candor.

Veronica finally pulls Tono aside and chides him for keeping the truth from her, especially because they have spent so much money and the conversion rate is killing them, but Tono tells her it will be fine. Veronica notes that it must be serious, since he told the truth, for once, and realizes that his “granola bar diet” has been sham all along. The kids scream for more lobster then and Veronica cringes at the expense but Tono convinces her to get the lobster for them as they are adorable. Veronica could not be more annoyed and angry at his comment and walks off.

Neron looks out the window and then tells his sons that it is time to go. They reluctantly oblige and go to say goodbye to their mother’s photo. They are happy to see Neron kept his promise to be faithful until the end of his life and smile. Neron tries to push them out the door but they demand to know if he’s waiting for someone. Neron explains that Jorge asked him to take care of his kids for a bit and he needs them to go. He then manages to get them outside and they walk through the gazebo and pass right by Flor, who is coming back with Milady, but don’t notice her walking toward Neron. She tries to give him a kiss, but Dulce arrives then and Neron ignores Flor. He gets a call from Jorge at that moment, who asks if Valentina’s friend came for her, and he hasn’t noticed but tells him Dulce is there before hanging up. He then goes to kiss Flor and open the door for her and Milady.

The Barrientos kids have a feast of lobster as Tono and Veronica eat half a granola bar and stare at them. Tono tries to get a piece but Veronica chides him, and he hides his hands.

Jorge arrives home and calls out for Dulce. She comes out of the room, with a suitcase in hand, and explains that she only came back because she doubts they could sustain the spiritual retreat trip for long. Jorge hopes she has reconsidered and suggests they wait for the kids, so they can talk, but Dulce prefers to leave and talk to them later. She goes to leave but Jorge grabs her and pulls her back as she tries to free herself.

Flor tells Neron about all the nice things she saw for the baptism and he tells her that he saw some venues but didn’t like any close to home. Flor thought he had gone further than their home and already booked a venue. Neron explains that he saw the one close to home first and then went further and Flor nods. She chides him then for not picking her and Milady up and goes to sit but lands on Socrete’s keys. She wonders where they came from and Neron assumes they are a neighbor’s. Just then, his sons come back, to pick up the keys and go to the bathroom, and are shocked to find Flor there. She holds up the keys and they all look at Neron, who chuckles nervously.

Jorge has let Dulce go, at least physically, because he still refuses to sign the divorce documents. What’s more, he drags her to their bedroom to show her what he will do with the divorce documents, but stops short when he sees his drawer open. He realizes she cam to pick up her passport, so she can leave with her lover, Isauro, but Dulce offers no explanation.

As Renee’s eyes borrow holes into Mauricio’s, he calls Leopoldo to tell him that their meeting will need to be delayed for one hour as he takes care of a small problem. Leopoldo reluctantly agrees and hangs up after reminding Mauricio about his upcoming flight. Mauricio then asks Fabian to help him find Anifer and Fabian goes off with Gladys to do so. Renee chides Mauricio for not personally looking for his daughter, but Mauricio asks her to help too, instead of complaining. Renee asks if they informed the little girl’s mother and Mauricio tells her there isn’t one and storms off with Renee in tow.

Dulce thinks Jorge is being ridiculous, but Jorge knows she wouldn’t go after a broke man but would go after one that would offer her a life of adventure, like he did, though Dulce notes that he never delivered on his promises. In fact, her life has been a mess and he also sucks in bed. Jorge can’t believe she cares about something like this, but Dulce has heard enough and goes to leave. Jorge runs after her, grabs her bag and finds the passport. He rips it to shreds and Dulce reveals that he was right and Isauro is her lover but she’s not with him for his money, she’s with him because she loves him.

Flor can’t believe Neron hid her existence and Milady’s from sons, and neither can them, as Neron stumbles to explain himself. Flor calls him out for lying about his son’s whereabouts as well but Ciceron explains that they live relatively close before demanding an explanation from Neron. Neron reveals his promise to Carmelita and his children to Flor and explains that he was resilient until he met her and fell in love. His children think it’s more physical than anything and begin to laugh but wake the baby and Flor leaves in a huff to put her to sleep. His sons still demand and explanation from him and Neron finally agrees.

Outside Logatoys, Fabian tells Mauricio and Renee that Anifer seems to have left the factory. Renee offers to help him look around and they go off as Fabian waits by the entrance.

Jorge can’t believe Dulce fell for a criminal, but she explains that he listens to her and pays attention to her, but Jorge doubts his feelings are true. Dulce doesn’t care what he must think but Jorge wonders what the children will say. Dulce explains that they will realize the truth once they tell them, that their marriage has been a sham. She then goes to leave, and Jorge announces that, should she leave, she will never see her kids again. Dulce looks at him one final time, takes off her ring, and whispers goodbye before leaving.

Mauricio and Renee look for Anifer in a nearby park, which, to Mauricio’s taste, is horribly decrepit and crime-ridden, as she asks him about the sale of Logatoys. Mauricio confirms it’s in the works but promises nothing will change. Renee wonders if the new owner is as nice as Mauricio makes him out to be and if he cares about toys as much as the employees do but Mauricio demands they focus on finding Anifer as they think too differently. They split up and continue looking.

As Flor tries to get Milady to sleep, Neron explains that he met Flor and fell in love, despite his own reservations, but his sons remind him of how little his promise to their mother meant. Neron chides them for not visiting after Carmelita’s death and they wonder if Neron is only with Flor out of loneliness. Neron considers this and they wonder how old Flor and if she was pregnant when they met. As Neron asks them to be quiet and respect her, Flor comes and tells him Milady has a fever.

Mauricio looks in a playground for Anifer but gives up when his shows get scuffed. He decides to leave but Renee catches up to him and reminds him that Anifer is more important. Mauricio has a meeting to get to though Renee insists he look for his daughter and asks him about her wants and likes, to see if they can find her through that. Mauricio explains that she is a standard, random and interchangeable little girl and Renee chides him for saying that about his daughter though Mauricio admits that he talks a lot of BS when he’s nervous and her bulldog face isn’t helping. Just then, he receives a call from Leopoldo, who demands he hurry, and Mauricio promises he will be there soon before hanging up. Renee then asks if he knows where Anifer likes to go when she wants to be alone and Mauricio remembers that she likes to climb trees. He goes off to look for a big tree as Renee wonders how they will find her.

Moments later, Mauricio locates her in a nearby tree and demands she get down immediately. Anifer shakes her head and Mauricio demands she listen to her father. He is shocked that he said that but then tells Anifer to jump down and Renee will catch her. Both Anifer and Renee look at him like he’s crazy.

The doctor at the hospital tells Flor and Neron that Milady will be fine, she just has a slight cold. He then asks for the father of the baby and looks at Ciceron and Socretes, but Flor tells him that it’s Neron. He apologizes and leaves to fill out some paperwork. Ciceron and Socretes remind him that they said it wasn’t anything important, but Flor can’t listen to them anymore and goes down to the lobby to wait alone. Once alone, Socretes continues to ask if Neron is sure Milady is his and Neron slips and reveals that she is, unlike him. Ciceron is shocked and Neron realizes his mistake.

Anifer refuses to come down and Mauricio threatens to leave but doesn’t. Renee suggests he ask Anifer why she escaped, and Mauricio obliges. Anifer explains that Mauricio said she was a lot of baggage and wanted to be rid of her. On top of that, he said her mother will never come back for her and Renee understands why Anifer escaped. Mauricio doesn’t think she does, but Renee demands he apology to his daughter, ASAP. Mauricio obliges and apologizes, because she is not unwanted baggage, but Anifer make shim promise to find her mother, wherever she may be. He says he will and screams for her to get down. Renee jumps when he screams but Anifer is unfazed.

Neron explains that Carmelita was pregnant with Socretes when they met but he’s loved him as a son. Socretes chides him for never telling him the truth but now he’s glad he did and storms off. Ciceron hopes Neron isn’t lying and tells him that they only wanted to protect him from caring for a child that wasn’t his though he could care less now. He storms off too as Neron wonders why he put his foot so deep in his mouth.

Mauricio asks Anifer to come down, as does Renee, and worries that he won’t make his meeting. Anifer, however, wants him to promise, on the most valuable thing he has, that he will find her mother. Mauricio can’t, as he sold everything of value he had (biggggg sighhhh), but then decides to swear on the last valuable thing he owns: Logatoys. Renee makes a face, as Mauricio can’t seem to understand that Anifer wants him to swear on her, and helps him out. Mauricio finally understands and swears on Anifer that he will find her mother. He quietly thanks Renee and Anifer decides to come down. Both Renee and Mauricio fumble over each other to help Anifer, who needs no help at all, and share a look of intense passion (and quietly scramble to hide it) before they realize Anifer has climbed down the other side and is safely on the sidewalk.

Mauricio then thanks them both and goes to leave but Renee chides him for leaving Anifer like that and not caring for her, when so many people find themselves alone. He thinks about this for a second when Fabian calls and gives him good news. Mauricio smiles wide.

That night, Mauricio finally arrives at Logatoys and finds Fabian and Leopoldo waiting for him in his office. Mauricio thanks him and Leopoldo tells him that he cancelled his trip as buying Logatoys is very important to him. He hands Mauricio, the documents to sign and Mauricio asks him what he plans to do with the company once he’s the owner. Leopoldo understands his reservations, but he has big plans for Logatoys though he will perform some market tests first. Mauricio asks if he will keep the same employees and Leopoldo reiterates that he will perform tests first to determine the best course of action. Mauricio asks for some clarification and Leopoldo states that every employee will be interviewed and reviewed on a case by case basis and they will determine if they stay or not. As Fabian stares, shocked, Mauricio begins to question if he’s making the right decision.

Valentina and Samuel are playing on their tablets when Jorge arrives and asks them about their day. The kids ignore him, and Jorge repeats his questions, to which they answer that it went fine. He then instructs Valentina that they will eat earlier so she should go prepare dinner. Valentina obliges, and Samuel asks about Dulce. Jorge sits down, dejected, and tells them that she had an awakening during the retreat and decided to do the Walk of Santiago in Spain, so she will be away for longer than expected. Valentina asks if she will come back for her things, but Jorge is doubtful as she doesn’t need anything else than she had on and her faith. Samuel asks if there are going to see her before she leaves, and Jorge shakes his head before stating that they will have to survive during this hard time, the three of them. Samuel asks him not to lie anymore and tell them if he and Dulce are separating.

Fabian asks Mauricio to sign on the dotted line, but Mauricio wants a guarantee that all the employees will keep their jobs. Leopoldo will try his hardest, but he can’t promise anything. Mauricio is firm in his request though and Leopoldo can’t believe he’s dealing with such a poor businessman. Mauricio can’t believe he thinks he could manage Logatoys better than him and Leopoldo offers him a piece of advice: take the money he is offering and invest in something that he doesn’t need to manage. Fabian begs Mauricio to sign the paper and Mauricio nods before announcing that they won’t waste anymore time and money on something that he is not doing. He proceeds to rip up the contract, much to everyone’s dismay, except his.

Outside the office, Renee tells Anifer that Logatoys became her second home when she started coming to the parties they host there. Anifer thinks it’s a shame Mauricio is selling it and Renee agrees but their conversation is cut short as Leopoldo storms out of the office with his associates, announces that Logatoys will be finished soon, and leaves. Anifer asks if this means Mauricio didn’t sell and Renee goes to find out as Fabian tries to salvage the situation. Mauricio thanks her for all her help and Renee nods before taking him aside and telling him that he shouldn’t treat Anifer like a little adult because she needs love and protection. Mauricio wonders if she has any family, since she’s handing out advice, so Renee tries to leave, as her shift ended long ago, but Mauricio stops and offers her a bonus for all her help (when he can pay it). Renee is shocked, and Mauricio explains that a little extra money is good as he can buy something nice for herself or her mother. Renee can’t even fathom what he just said and reveals that her mother died a couple of days ago. Mauricio suggests he buy her flowers and Renee suggests that, if he thanks someone in the future, he do from the heart and not from his wallet because he can stick his money…Mauricio doesn’t let her finish, as he knows where to stick his money, and Renee walks away.

Sometime later, over dinner, Leopoldo speaks to an unknown associate on the phone and assures them that he will take Logatoys from Mauricio, as promised, and they shouldn’t worry.

In their room, Flor asks Neron if she embarrasses him and Neron assures her he isn’t, but she wonders why he didn’t tell his children about them. Neron assures her that she’s amazing though he probably embarrasses her because he’s so old. Flor slaps him on the arm and tells him that she loves him and had a child with him because of that love and not because she wants his money, which he doesn’t even have. Milady begins to cry, and Flor chides him for waking her up before kicking Neron out of the room for the night. Through the door, Neron begs her to reconsider, and showers her with compliments, which make Flor smile.

The Barrientos clan get into bed to watch TV but Veronica orders them all, sans Tono, to go get ready for bed. Once alone, she lays down next to Tono, wishing for a vacation after this vacation, but he thinks she’s exaggerating. She reminds him that taking care of the kids on one trip is not the same as every day of their lives, but he assures her it will all be okay. Just then, her stomach rumbles and Tono laughs. Veronica does too but gets serious when she thinks about their jobs; she asks Tono to call Jorge, just to get more information, but Tono thinks it will all work out. Veronica hopes they don’t end up on the street and then proposes they go get a cheap stomach but are interrupted when Fidel clogs the toilet. As Tono goes to help, Veronica grabs her phone and dials.

As Samuel eats his dinner, he complains about the taste, but Valentina and Jorge demand he keep quiet. Samuel then asks Valentina if she’s not going to eat and Valentina proclaims she’s on a diet, so she will only eat an apple. Jorge announces that they will have to divide up the chores, while her mother is away, and Samuel asks if he and Dulce are getting divorced. Jorge reiterates that they are not and demands both kids keep quiet about what is going on at home, especially Samuel. They all agree.

At home, Renee looks over various articles on Mauricio as Veronica calls her. She asks about the company’s financial situation and Renee explains that there is no official word, but Mauricio almost sold the company. Veronica is happy to see everything is going to stay the same and hopes it does, for all their sakes. Renee hopes Mauricio will finally take care of his company, as he should’ve beforehand, and lights a candle for her mother. They then discuss how men always have the gift to make them smile, no matter what, and Veronica hangs up afterwards because she must go help unclog the toilet, with a smile.

Mauricio gets home with Anifer and can’t understand how Renee rejected his money, especially since there is a recession. Anifer deduces that he cares about Renee and Mauricio shakes his head though he admits she is pretty. Mauricio then tries to discuss the birds and the bees regarding Renee, but fails, though Anifer repeats that he hasn’t stopped talking about Renee since they left Logatoys. Mauricio scuffs but then notices the drawing Anifer made of Maria Cruz and complements her skills before having a flashback to the day he meet Maria Cruz…Mauricio was partying with some girls when Maria Cruz showed up, alone, and he took notice of her beautiful body and face…He looks at the drawing again and smiles wide.

The next morning, Mauricio tells Fabian that he uploaded the picture Anifer drew on social media and it’s only a matter of time before he finds her. Fabian complements Anifer’s drawing skills and then Mauricio reveals that he finally remembered Maria, barely, but he did. Fabian hopes he remembers more details, soon, and then goes to the police station to give them the drawing. Before he can go, Mauricio asks him to come up with a strategy to save the company, and asks if he made a mistake not selling. Fabian sighs deeply.

Over breakfast, Neron asks Flor if she’s going to be angry and quiet all day. Flor confesses that she doesn’t feel at home with him, even though they live together and have a child together. Neron thinks she’s exaggerating but Flor explains that she fell for him because he treated her like a lady though, lately, that hasn’t been the case. Neron nods, grabs Carmelita’s picture and candle from the fireplace, and takes it out of the house, declaring that he will try his hardest, from now on, to be the best man he can be for her and Milady. Flor smiles, big, possibly falling in love all over again.

Fabian shows Mauricio the latest debts they must pay, and Mauricio can’t fathom how people work and have kids at the same time. Fabian reminds him that there are plenty of people who do it all, alone, like single mothers, and don’t have a “Ruby” helping them. Mauricio nods but then a ping from his computer distracts him. It’s a message from a Juan Perez, who doesn’t have a profile picture, but tells Mauricio that he lives close to Anifer’s town and wants to see him because he knows where to find Maria Cruz...

Thank you, Alfredo for yet another outstanding recap this week. It was a pleasant accompaniment to my café this a.m.

Another goofy but good episode!

I laughed at:

Verónica and Toño eating their granola bar while the kids had lobster.

Dulce running away with Isauro a/the criminal.

Carmelita being permanently removed.

Anifer up the tree like a cat.

Mr. AAA, what can I say? Oh, Thank You works first off. Actually a fun episode, and you got it all.

They think they are being clever showing us an endless string of bimbos and near bimbos (like Miranda, how long did she take to figure him out?), and then there is wholesome as whole wheat bread Renee.

Then after a steady diet of bimbo bread (I'm corny, I know) he gets a taste of the real thing and is perplexed. Like 'Hmmm, that's not toooo bad. What's wrong here?'

Of course it will take him another hundred episodes to figure it out, as he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. (Don't judge a book by it's cover?) Why don't we call them Bimbas and Bimbos? Nevermind this is English.

NeUron and Flor are just goofy. But not as annoying as Benny and Luisa, Flo is more attractive than Luisa, even with that butter face.

Anifer seemed to turn it down a few decibels last night, or is she like the sound of the fridge making ice, you just finally don't hear it? She has come a long way from drawing stick figures I would say.

What is with Tono wearing a chick headband? I got a good look at it last night and it is one of those with small 'comb' teeth, like little girls wear. Did he get it from the couple we have not seen yet?

One more, as Flo was on the park bench her baby was plastic for a minute, right before she picked him up.

Now, my E-Bomb list:

1. In the playground with Renee, 'You know?'
2. Also in the playground, ending a phone call, 'Gracias, Bye'
3. To Anifer in the tree, 'OK, OK, bye'
4. Also to Anifer in the tree 'JUMP'

Butter face: Great body, BUT HER face, she would have to sneak up on a glass of water.

Dulce looks so familiar, but when I looked her up,I have not seen any other TN she was in. She was in some reality show of some sort for a couple of seasons too, it appears, but they didn't ring a bell with me. Real name is Ana La Salvia.

Thanks Alfredo!

Agree with Jarifa. V and T eating their granola bar half while the kids dug into their lobster was funny.

Poor Anifer has no one but Mau and the maid. She needs to go to school to make some friends. She is so cute. Can't be more than 5 or 6.

I can't believe Neuron revealed out of frustration that one of his son's wasn't his. How hurtful. He has a long way to go to win me over.

So who wants to secretly buy a bankrupt toy company? Who among the patio was looking for a villain? I think one is on the way.

Kirby, be nice. Not everyone can be born with a beautiful face. But to have a great body takes some work so cudos to putting in the gym hours.

Dulce looks familiar to me too but can't place her. Hopefully it will come to me.

*kudos

Actually I think the girl playing Flor is pretty, they have her made up as unattractive as possible and those bangs don't help any. I suspect they are making the Neuron/Flo pairing as believable as possible. There is a big poster of her on their bedroom wall, I assume she is some starlet or something.

Dulce has been in a load of TNs, Bandito, Mentira, come to mind, but they all seem to be on the "other" network which I have never watched. Googling her yields a load of swinsuit pictures, so she is or has been a hottie.

Yeah, what was Neuron thinking? #timingiseverything

It was funny when the other son yelled after his brother "medio carnal"!

Alfredo, thank you for your recap!

One has to laugh at Tono and Veronica letting their kids have seconds on lobster while they starve. Note to T & V: there is nothing wrong with telling your kids “No.” It is a complete sentence. Enjoy that granola bar!

Kirby J – I call them “male bimbos.”

Sr AAA, thank you so much, you deserve a medal.

Count me as a fan of Flor. I'm another one who thinks she is really pretty, perhaps not a classical beauty like Miranda, but just as good looking in a different way. And her face is so very expressive! I did not get even a third of the rapid fire colloquial Spanish with her and Neron and his two sons, but when she looked at Neron and said "[something, something, something]... tu y yo ...[something, something, something]" I didn't bother with CC and the dictionary, no need.

So I was a fan even before the scene with her wearing those... PJs?

Neron really goofed when he let the son know that he was not his biological father. OTOH, if the son never suspected, I have to think Neron has been a good father. Perhaps he should have said something earlier, but how and when, and even, why?

Neron's sons are OK, but if their parents could have afforded it they should have sent the kids to a better school. Then maybe I could understand them better :-)

Kirby, I agree that Anifer's voice was a little easier to take this time out.

Carvivlie, thanks for the heads up on villainy afoot. I suppose the TN needs something like this, as well as Neron/Flor, Jorge/Dulce (and her whatever), etc., because we all knew the first night how Mauricio/Renee/Anifer would finish up, paternity or no. I mean they couldn't possibly take her away from them now.

Thanks, Alfredo. Fine recap.

Neron's sons discovering their new stepmom and little sister was a hoot. Neron letting slip that one of his son's is not by blood -- ouch! -- but the look on the two brothers' faces ["medio carnal"! -- thanks, Carvivlie] made me laugh. Andy, ITA Neron no doubt loves the son as his own.

Flor's a cutie. I didn't like her big bangs at first, but they've grown on me. Hate the term "butterface," as if the user had a ghost of a chance of meeting up to butterface's standards.

Are we sure Fabian is a good guy? What would he personally gain if Mauricio sells Logatoys.

Becoming a Father is easy,
Being a Father, not so much..................

just saying

Andy and Carvivlie, maybe I should take another look at Flor. I admit her jeans sidetracked me for two reasons.
1. She has just the right amount of 'her' in them.
2. If you are going to wear the new trendy Goodwill style jeans with holes all in them, then do not put patches on the inside. 'Skin to Win' as they say.

Carvivlie: "So who wants to secretly buy a bankrupt toy company? Who among the patio was looking for a villain? I think one is on the way."

Ohhhh Nooo I hope not. I am tired of hating villains and seeing the dumb good guys obliterated. I was and still am hopeoing that the Mauricio/Anifer/Renee merry go round is as complicated and dark as it gets.

I want to watch an adorable little girl and a dangerously cute engineer chick change a jackass into an loveable burro.

Niecie, never thought about Fab not being a good guy. Could he be in cahoots with the mystery buyer? Could be have arranged Anifer's appearance at the wedding? Hmmm

Hi, Patio Peeps! AAA, stellar recap and the screenshot added a real nice touch! Thank you for for all the long hours and hard work you put in this week...4 Recaps! BRAVOOOO!

Discussion is off to a great start!

Jarifa, we laughed at the same things! the parents eating the granola bars was hilarious, but as Doris pointed out, there is nothing wrong with saying "No" to kids or explaining the circumstances...at least to a certain degree.

Kirby, I like it when you're "corny" it puts a smile on my face :-) I believe Flor is supposed to be a model in this TN. If she is, I would think she would use more make-up.

Carvivlie and Andy, I agree that Neron really messed up telling his son he wasn't his bio dad; I'm not excusing his error, but his sons were taunting him, criticizing his decisions and insinuating that Milady wasn't his, so he may have felt a need to lash out...inappropriate as it was.

There is one thing that is quite unbelievable to me and that is Anifer's resilience. She has only cried for her mother once and her comments to Mau are more like that of an adult...sometimes she makes so much more sense that he does. I'd really want to know more about her mother since she has taught her daughter so well.

Kirby: Is that Maite Perroni I see in this comedy/drama ?

Little Bit seems fairly content in the knowledge (she surely believes) that her Mom is returning soon. I, without real reason, suspect that Mom is not coming back. Well, maybe one or two reasons, from behind the fourth wall. Her return would work counter to Mauricio and Renee being a couple, And her return ruins the whole premise of the show. So for those flimsy reasons, I wonder if the view of her in that flashback is as close as we will ever come to getting to know her.

I have to give her credit for leaving Little Bit in a good frame of mind.

Steve, yes. How could you tell? :-)

Kirby: Her facial features.

Kirby, "I wonder if the view of her in that flashback is as close as we will ever come to getting to know her." You're probably right...the only way we could get to know her then would be if Ani has a lot of flashbacks.

Anifer's mental state is getting worse . First, she told Mau that her mom would come for her soon. She was confident and okay. After overhearing Mau and Fab, she now wants Mau to promise to look for her. Mau needs to start stepping up or Anifer is going to start suffering.

" If you are going to wear the new trendy Goodwill style jeans with holes all in them, then do not put patches on the inside."
Actually, that is the newest, latest "look." Saw it online a few months ago, but can't remember where.

Carvivlie, you are right about Anifer. And Mau has not exactly stepped up and been a Dad (yet). That would help tremendously, rather than overhear him talking about her like she was last year's toy to be given to Goodwill.

We still don't have a clue how she conveniently showed up at the Boda Casi do we?

RGV, the little girl has a helluva memory doesn't she? From what we've learned about Mom through Ani, Mom sounds pretty good.

Doris: "Actually, that is the newest, latest "look." Yeah I have been noticing it on Spanish TV lately. It hasn't caught on here in FloriDuh, apparently. I had to go to a cheerleading thing the other day and the girls' cheerleading coach had long purple hair halfway down her back, and painted on jeans with a few holes in them you could throw a cat through.

Thanks Alfredo. Good recap. I'm glad

Alfredo, thank you for yet another fast, detailed recap.

I feel for Veronica and TOno because anything DIsney is way overpriced. We took the family to Disney on Ice today. $14.00 for a plastic mug of lemonade. $15.00 for a bag of Candy cotton with a cardboard tiara!! $20.00 for a slushy in a plastic Olaf plastic cup!!!

Much less English in this episode which makes me wonder whose idea it was in the first place..RUlli?...Director?...Writers? So, why less English in this episode? Did someone not like it?

Well, the whole family has been passing Around a cold, and I am finally down for the count! Feel dreadful. Peace out!

Oh, poor Susie. Chicken soup and let nature run it's course. They have been all over this super flu on TV the last few days. I'm almost afraid to come out here on the patio.

I must say that this episode didn't make me doze off...good sign. I enjoyed the Disney scenes and it didn't cost me a thing...well maybe a bit of electricity. I was also glad to see that they didn't drag out Neron's secret relationship and baby. Mau impressed me the most though when he refused to sell the company because the employee's jobs were in jeopardy...the man has a selfless bone somewhere...and that gives more hope for a better Mau.

Hope you feel better, Susy.

I don't live that far from Disney down here. And I can tell you, we hate the mouse, ever since the "Train your H1-B Visa Replacement' debacle.

Susanlynn, take it easy and get well soon.

Nina, thank you for mentioning that Neron was still alive and that no one should have expected that he would stay alone the rest of his life. He and his sons do seem a bit lacking in common sense, hopefully Flo will bring some smarts to the family. I can understand that he might have been a little embarrassed about having a so much younger girlfriend, but he should have gotten over that quickly. Now he has a new daughter with his trophy wife. And this trophy wife did not marry him for his money, which he doesn't have anyway, as she pointed out. He should be the proudest rooster around. And maybe a little bit humbled, too, a new father at his age.

Gee, you know, I can still remember when I used to live for the weekend :-)

Andy...exactly ! Most guys would be strutting her and the new baby around for the WORLD to see.

weekend..yeah, me too. Now I prefer them all to go back to work and get out of my way. :-)

Kirby, yeah, but I'm just getting crankier and crankier. If I go to a store during the week and there are lines of any sort I think "Why aren't all you people working? " :-)

Alfredo, another smart and savvy recap.

You always include so much detail and a touch of kind insight and romance: "Flor smiles, big, possibly falling in love all over again" was perfect.

So Neron raised Socretes' into adulthood, never revealing he wasn't his biological father. Neron falls in love and has a child but never bothers to tell his sons about either one. When he is called to task, he tells Socretes' the truth not in kindness but to deflect (well deserved) criticism. Carvivlie, I'm with you. Definitely not a fan.

"He should be the proudest rooster around. And maybe a little bit humbled, too, a new father at his age" - love it Andy.

"Becoming a Father is easy, Being a Father, not so much" so true Kirby.

"I enjoyed the Disney scenes and it didn't cost me a thing...well maybe a bit of electricity" made me laugh RgvChick.

Jarifa, I really felt for Veronica and Tono. They really looked hungry and the kids seemed to be watching rather than eating the lobsters!

Mauricio has a long, long way to go to be worthy of Anifer..."If Maury weren't so stupidly dumb he'd see what a treasure he has in that sweet little girl". Amen Nina.

Susanlynn, rest, drink tea and take care. Sweet dreams.

Alfredo, a pleasure as always.

Diana

Have only seen a few minutes of this, but enjoyed your wonderfully detailed recap as always Alfredo and WOW! what a screen shot! Those were always torture for me, so I am humbled and impressed when you recappers put them up. And of course, the Eye Lock. Yesssss. Their fate is sealed.

What I did see was tough. Very uncomfortable with the Dulce/Jorge scenes. And Neron neglecting his wife/girlfriend? and baby while trying to pull the wool over his sons' eyes, and then the parents starving at Disney while the kids slurped down lobsters. Best part though was Papa shaking out the last crumbs of that measly Larabar or whatever it was. I've been known to do that myself.

Susanlynn, so sorry that you have the crud. This seems like a tough season for everybody. My older sister has been ill with one thing and another since Christmas. My husband is sick now. And my granddaughter was very ill when I was visiting in Charlotte. I don't think we can blame global warming for this one but it sure is a miserable winter virus-wise. Hope you feel better soon. It's amazing how miserable "a simple cold" can make us. Nothing simple about it! Healing vibes((((((())))))) coming your way.

Now Kirby, I think we need to hear more about "I had to go to a cheerleading event". This sounds highly suspicious. Just sayin'

RVG Chick: My sister in NC is still suffering from the flu.

JudyB, not nearly as delicious as it sounds, neighbor's kids. I'm adopted. The older one adopted me 12 or so years ago and I and the real grandparents have partially raised her and her little sister.

SusyQ so sorry to hear about you being sick.Hey do what they did back in the day, take some castor oil. That'll work it out of ya.I can hear the yucks
Now,Lol.It works people.And drink lots
Of lemon tea. Whatever works for you
Baby:D, I hope you feel better soon.
Being sick sucks:(
Healing vibes ((((((((♡)))))))) to you
And yours.

Actually that's MORE delicious than it sounded. I love that a little neighbor adopted you and that you and the grandparents have been an important part of her life and that of her sister. No wonder you're loving this story about Anifer. In your own way you are living it.

Judy: Mauricio the reckless womanizer getting scammed by his so-called best friend is hilarious.

I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up bankrupt & poor.

Good Monday Morning, Patio Peeps!!

Looking around the patio...no Dorito crumbs, no hopeos or justice juice/liquor...hmmm...is everyone on vacation?? Sure has been quiet here...

Happy Monday!!

Happy Monday, RGV! And thank you and everyone for stopping by during the weekend!

You had some very interesting perceptions on how the dads are doing currently and ITA with everything you said, especially Neron. At first I thought it was funny, because they are teasing him about not being the father of Milady, and Neron just dropped that bomb and went about his day. But, the more I thought about it, the more it turned into a cruel jab and I hope he makes it up to Socretes in the future. I still think neither of his children had the right to tease him, or force him to live alone for the rest of his years, especially since they barely visit him, yet live so close, but Neron should've had more tact and been a father in that instant, which he wasn't. I was happy to see everything out in the open after one episode, and that bodes very well for the pace of this novela.

Renee was hilarious during the tree scene, pointing at Anifer with her tongue and praying for Mauricio would get a clue. He is a playboy, and clueless and downright disrespectful, but he has a lot of room for change and these two women are going to help him out. At least he cares about the well being of others, unlike Fabian, who kept begging him to sign. I wonder if he has a stake in the company of some sort and hopes Mauricio doesn't bankrupt him. It's strange to see that they don't seem to have any sort of board at Logatoys. Just a sort of round table where Mauricio orders people to fix his problems. Maybe that's a good first step.

Jorge should just stop lying to his kids. They get it, they're old enough and I'm more worried about Valentina's "diet." Where is she getting this from? And it's such a stark contrast to Samuel, who seems to overindulge regularly. I hope we don't go down the eating disease rabbit hole before Jorge learns to be a father. As much as he expects things from Valentina, he should know Samuel can't skirt by either.

Tono and Veronica were hilarious but I think them not depriving the children of the lobster was more "I don't know when we will do this again so let them enough it." It's funny how some families can be a mess, but work through their problems, and others, like Jorge and Dulce, fall apart.

Good Morning RGV and AAA. One thing I think is funny/cool. The chairs around their round table are supported by cables, in essence they are swings.

They have not gotten me more than mildly interested in these everyday families yet. Yeah, Neuron was indelicate with his 'not his' son. He's a grown man, deal with it. Things could be a lot worse. Yeah, you are married to a girl the age of your children, at least one of your sons isn't involved with her. That is what I was expecting. (Too many TNs under my belt)

Dulce left Dummy. That's what happens when she stays hot and you don't. The kids are probably relieved.

Looks like that may be the last lobster for a while for T&V's kids. Can we just call them the TV Famalia?

The big picture is what are our two pint sized heroines going to do with the overgrown brat they inherited? (through no fault of their own) What is it they say, you don't get to choose your parents? There are just enough glimmers of hopeo in Mauricio to make him appear salvageable, but by a decadently cute engineer and a cupcake muncher? This is just preposterous enough to be believable. I suppose we need all these other families revolving around our central characters.

How is everyone today? Susanlynn, hope you are feeling better!

Regarding Dulce, Kirby, I saw her in Destino from Azteca. She was the wife of the galan and they had a daughter and she was equally horrible. They killed her off in the second week, ironically, as she tried to ruin the galan's life, but she was so mean and spiteful that I couldn't bring myself to feel bad. She tried her daughter so bad that she deserved whatever she got.

The thing about Renee, like Anifer, is that she doesn't bow down to Mauricio's whelms. That is why these two will be the ones to help him change. Fabian doesn't either, to a certain extent, but he's too much of a "bro" for Mauricio to take seriously. However, Renee and Anifer even force him to be better and they don't cater to his feelings or are dazzled by what he can offer them, money wise. Mauricio was so shocked Renee rejected his money that he couldn't stop talking about it. Eventually, that annoyance will turn to admiration and then love.

Fabian is a murky character. I keep thinking he has a hidden agenda and it's not Maricio's good, and certainly not Anifer's. Something else is going on.

And agree about Samuel, Alfredo. To have weight issues so young is alarming. And no one seems to be picking up on it. Granted, it's not the character, it's the young actor who has a problem. Always sad to see these situations cropping up at such a young age.
Health-wise, it's a disaster in the making.

AAA, right about Renee. She is probably the first one he has gotten to know who didn't in effect have a for sale sign on herself.
