his sister and mother were frantic looking for him at least his sister was.??

then he was lost and neglected by hos brother,

but this child loved to dance and music

his mother was run down by hard labor

his 'PlAY AUNT ' came back into his life and took him in!!

Eventually, she went on to live her life with her husband and that spelled the end of his personal/ attentive care.

I have feelings abt his sister, she was the one who blocked his adoption with the baker.

Then, she swore his was too young to leave home when he was three,

but two years later,, he is dumped in state care??!!

In the end mother was not able and really had no desire ,to care for him but in the most minimum manner..

it breaks your heart to see this lonely baby, fend off older boys and fend for his personhood,in a cruel world..

he might have been better off with the cat lady!!!!

Aurora escapes from the crippled Rob, locks herself in with Emilio, Rob sleeps on the floor outside the door, at first refusing counseling for couples because it's not her with the problem, she later concedes.

Roberto gets Dolores hired, how?, they will pay women less.

I'm wondering if Nat's new super pickers were sent by Roberto, and I am waiting to hear why this is putting Juanjo's family at risk, time to call Susan.

Paco sneaks a look at Jordon's giant pic of Paloma, Mike appears, he crams it back into the tube but crinkles it, alone again he smooths it out, but I think Paloma figures it out.

Yes Deb...the workers were sent by Rob. We havent seen the backdoor deal yet but he had his usual "up to no good" smirk when discussing the work issue with Chris. And yes they are illegal slave laborers whose presence on Nat' campo is meant to cause her problems.

So Robs fake tears sucked Aurora in..one laat time we hope. Cant say she didnt try when she leaves him for good. The lady with the kids fleed an abusive relationship and found aurora. Guess shes there to point out the obvious for aurora when the time comes.

Chris, Dimas and of of course Rob are ass holes and chovanistic. They think very liltle of women and I cant see anything changing their minds...for real...even when they realize that Rob has screwed them all.

Thanks muchly, Halimacandi, deb, and Nett. I don't have much to add. I cheered when Aurora told Roberto he was pathetic and very sick. She also told him not to come near her, that she doesn't recognize him, he's not the man she married. Too bad she finally agrees to go to couples therapy even though the only one needing therapy is Roberto. Nett, I guess you're right, no one will be able to accuse Aurora of not trying hard to save the marriage. Blecch.

I'm not much of a fan of Sara the Spy, but I did feel a bit sorry for her last night. Roberto is playing her, and she's so needy she can't see it. Wait til she finds out!

Nett, I think you're probably right that Roberto is responsible for the capable but cowed grape pickers, but I confess I didn't notice his "up to no good" smirk. Or perhaps I notice it so often that it no longer registers. :-) So if they are illegal, hiring them will cause a problem for Nat? She did look at at least two passports--should she have demanded to examine all of them? Did the boss even have all of them? If the passports are forged, would she still be in trouble?

Juanita- on Mondays show, yes, Nat only looked at a couple of the passports, or so they showed us, but later when detective Juanjo showed up asking questions, Nat pulled out a folder that had copies of all the passports.

I kind of agree with Nat in they should wait till the harvest is done, it's not their problem and they have no proof, but they also should be arranging for Susan to show up at the compound with a search warrant, Juanjo as usual is always up for a little trouble.

Juanjo calling Sere amiga, put it on the table for her, but she will probably tag along.

Leo looked pretty good as Juliet, Sofia as Romeo looks like she is game, I imagine Cris will be there when the curtain rises, (what?, put on a play so they pass their spanish ?? class, this is like Cheech and Chong, took spanish as a second language and got a B, but I guess it's because they haven't been showing up for class)

So did Roberto want the couples therapist to be a woman? Is the insanely jealous Roberto afraid of Aurora becoming interested in a male therapist? Also, Roberto says he doesn't want to discuss intimate things with his therapist (whom Aurora has contacted). Duh?

It's clear that Rob's jealousy is sick and dangerous. Aurora goes to the store, a guy opens the door for her, and Roberto, waiting in the car, goes bananas. In a rage, he gets out of the car and beats the guy up. And, as you say, at the end of the episode, he's buying a gun "and all the accessories." Look out, Aurora!

Juanjo is determined to help the grape pickers, who are clearly slave labor for their boss. It looks as if his attempt to help Fernando may have gotten him killed. And then Juanjo follows the van carrying the guys, sees one guy tossed from the van, and stops to help him into his car. The van driver sees him do this and makes a u-turn to go after Juanjo's car, gun blazing. (I learned a new word: agachar, to duck (¡Agáchate!, Juanjo keeps saying to the guy he rescued as they speed away from the shooter in the van.)

Grace- hmm, it really wasn't anything real specific, just that she was confirming what he knew, that she was in love with Juanjo and went with Rob to try to forget him, she also told the therapist (though we didn't hear Rob listening to this part) that she married Rob because she was pregnant.

Grace....I believe Rob heard Aurora confess that he was second best to Juanjo. She said she feels guilty because she married Rob to try to move on from Juanjo. And also because she got pregnant.

Rob wants Dolores away from Aurora mainly because he doesn’t want her to disclose hey salary to Aurora...he told her not to mention pay to Aurora and to stay away from her

While Serena and Juanjo are the more exciting couple...Juan is clear...he cares for her...but she is a friend,,,with benefits I add. He tells her not to compare him to Emilio. While he doesn’t appear to compare Serena to Aurora.,,,Serena doesn’t merit an upgrade from friendprobably cause she’s no Aurora,,,in his eyes. Serena is destined to be heartbroken in the end,

Yeah...the nosy neighbor is going to be a casualty of Robs. I wasn’t betting on him to use her in the manner he appears to be leading up to,,,but she will be a casualt.

I’m conflicted with Nat. I do see her point but she should be more concerned about the welfare of her temp workers. She assumes that their status and plight cant come back to bite her...but I think shes going to be in for a painful surprise, At a minimum she should look into this while the harvesting continues...as Juanjo has decided to do.

Robert rising, hobbles behind her and he still insist on talking. what talk???

Cray Cray is gaging her reactions and intentions he is crazy, crazy like a fox!

Now, for Goodness sakes:
1] she didn’t leave him after the man had her on her back and raging abt putting on the black dress like she did for other men, she is whoring around with!!

That is a beat down, if ever there was one, …. if, I am a whore, then, you don’t have any front teeth!!!

Today was not the day for this, Aurora quit on principle[GP] and takes the lady and kids to her house for a meal and support.

Aurora, ain’t no slouch, she dug the scene as soon as she saw 'THIRSTY SARA’.....'so, that’s who has been taking just good care of you…'

Back at the office, Roberto conflaggles the dad into rehiring Aurora and the lady Dolores?

He is trying to earn brownie points with Aurora…all the while, wage stealing from Dolores!!

A single mother with two children to feed!! Crisanto, Dimas and Roberto laugh at their arrogance and miserliness. They are going to pay!!!

he cold cocked him on the sneak tip!!

Then,to round out a great day,he goes to torture poor Dolores and how soon before he assaults the poor woman?????

the therapist must suspect by now, dude is nuts[ a danger to himself and others]
!! troubled!! he has been listening, he understands the depth of this obsession,when cray cray ,came back to retrieve the phone!!!

This show had me crying the whole episode.The abuse this child had to managed ,it explains his flat emotional affect and how he absorbed pain..!

He had to survive in jail enviro..the boys there Preyed on the smaller kids
and for some reason these bigger [dangerous] boys had control of the one male adult ,who was suppose to be the authority?? what kind of control or relationship did they have over an adult??

Albert lost friends and family during this time,...between 5 to 8 years, he experience a lot of physical and I am assuming sexual abuse during this period..
But,he was a scapper and stood up for his self and never accepted a beat down..

Victoria abandoned him during these years, then his sister began her family and he felt like her pregnancy was a betrayal, and he was correct ,she was np longer able to give him attention and visit as often..

He began his interest in music and he declared it saved his life!!
he met his mentor and teacher , the old man that came into his life...help save his life and gave him purpose!!

I think he escaped the residential and comes home....

Halimacandi, I enjoyed your remarks, but there's one thing I'm not sure about. Toward the end of your remarks, you say that "NOW HE KNOWS ABT THE BABY!!" and that because he knows, the baby is now in danger. I'm under the impression that Roberto and Aurora decided together to get married when she learned she was pregnant. I think that she told this to someone, perhaps to her mother. If I'm right, then what Roberto hears on her phone isn't news to him. Even if I'm mistaken about his already knowing this, why would finding this out make him want to harm the baby? The time frame made it clear, I think, that Emilito is Roberto's baby, not Juanjo's. Have I misunderstood what you said? Am I mistaken about the time frame?

Sooo, I was wrong about Leo being gay. Seems he has no problem with women, as long as he's dressed like one. I sure hope his girlfriend gets on board with the whoel cross-dressing thing, because she seems nice and he's going to need the support when his father finds out he's not a dumb macho jerk like said father.

Tamaulipas is from Chiapas? Is Tamaulipas a real name or can I make fun of the bad guys for being bad as picking nicknames? I take my joy where I can. At least Susan is on the case now.

Aurora is making me mad. She shouldn't have lied to Roberto about being with Juanjo in Chicago. So we finally know Leo's true identity...assuming what we know is all there is. And what a girlfriend. I guess it all depends on how open and free he wants to be.

I think i missed something in the gardening scenes. I'm guessing that Roberto was behind them but couln't tell if he found the flash drive.

Matias gave Aurora all she needs but she really needs to share this info with other people. Roberto's clearly not above detaining his wife.

Two hanky episodes.

This episode was the crux of the series…

The child Albert ,had to mature and navigate ,his way around abandonment, abuse and neglect since his was 3years old!!
.
The ‘PLAY AUNT’... had to Guilt Trip the mother into visiting the poor child.By then we realize she had no affection for him. Victoria was a cold blooded bit*h… sorry its true !!

Child prodigy:
He was able to develop his musical talent and the school gave him enough education that he was able to write his poems, compositions and original songs. He won recognition as a small child for his vocal talent.

The maestro, Mr. Juan, taught him guitar and violin, as well as supported his attempt to live outside the institution. Tribunal all right: the concentration camp for orphans.

After his escape from children's hell:
At some point the mentor found him and took him to his mother, She rejected him outright, Victoria was so cold blooded abt it, that you realize this was this woman nature, it was not the poverty…

The mentor asks for permission to house him and provide training apprenticeship. Thank god, Albert was a natural sales person.

Alberto, begun a new phrase in his life when he joined a Baptist church with American parishioners.
They taught him gospel based musicality…he was absorbed into this missionary family and travel with them to the U.S.A.

Gabe participated in the missionary Baptist choir, he stayed with the church and was housed with an African family.

However, his English was limited, and he was beginning to accept his sexual fluid identity. He realized all of which would have cause problems in the future with this very conservative Black Amer. family.

He observed enough of African American family life as well as single black mothers .He admired their commitment to rearing their children against all odds!

His exposure to American life and different cultures was voiced in his regret in not being born to a ‘black mother ...A Black mother, who would have taken care of him and never abandon him’!!

It was very poignant and sentimental observation that luminates, he was becoming aware of how Victoria didn’t have any real excuse to neglect him, other than her alcoholism and mean spiritness!!


From this time on, he began saying he had no mother

He returns to Juarez and then to his village, where Victoria had return due to illness..too DAMN mean to die! Somehow..The older brother Luis was able to reclaim their farm.

Albert, was not use to hard field labor, so he had a hard time adapting to farm life, he couldn’t assimilate or relate to small town life or his family.

His sister ran into the old boy friend and Albert realize the dream/hope that his sister was his real mother died. Little -by- little a lot of his connections to his family died as well.

That family ,due to Victoria's instigation, decide to beat the ’gay’ out of him. The show was very circumspect in this presentation, but its been the subtext of this whole series.

They beat him so vicious that the play aunt came and kept him away for the family.After this horrendous assault, Juan Gabe broke ties with his family, and declared them dead to him....
he left forever and would not contact them until he became successful!!

Tamaulipas came to the U.S. via coyote who he agreed to work for 1 1/2 years to pay back, who sold his debt to Edgar who got him papers and passport and would give them to him when the debt was paid but it's been over three years, and now he worries he will be deported (and why would this be bad since he is working for less than nothing) so he escapes from the hospital and is later found gunned down.

Matias comes to town to promote the wine Aurora created in Argentina, now one of the countries best, and invites Aurora to the gala but not Roberto, Aurora finds out why. (including a time where Roberto assaulted a worker he claimed was flirting with Aurora) among many unprovable things, against Matias orders, he changed suppliers for there pesticides, etc, to a company in Panama ?? who delivered a knock off product from China for the same price, (that was having a bad effect on the plants)

Paloma doing a photo shoot at home finds Roberto's new gun, he says he got it to protect them from wild gangs in the neighborhood throwing their flower pots around, they take it back together.

Horatio interviews Aurora but Rob doesn't want her to be alone with him and invites himself, Emilio gets sick (could Rob have something to do with this) so the meeting is cut short.

Edgar hears about Tamaulipas, blows his whistle to round up his guys and they are gone, Cris calls to find out why the grape deliveries have stopped.

Juanjo is sad, once again he has screwed things up for his family, Sere says he'll always have her by his side.

Wow, what terrific comments/recaps from Kelly, Spanish Student, Halimacandi, and deb. I've got just about nothing to add. Just want to say that, like Spanish Student, I suspect Roberto may have had something to do with the plants, etc. getting vandalized. Whether he did it (or had it done) to both Sara's house and his own, I don't know. It's possible that vandals did it to Sara, but that gave him the idea once he saw Aurora hide the flash drive.

Also, I found Roberto absolutely insufferable when Horacio was trying to interview Aurora. Roberto kept interrupting to point out that credit for each thing that Horacio mentioned should go to him (Roberto) as well as to Aurora. And he's furious when Aurora corrects his statement about which grapes were used for the award-winning wine. deb, I can see why you suspect Roberto may have even had something to do with Emilito's falling ill, thus causing the interview to end. I too wondered--the timing seemed so perfect--but I can't imagine how he could have brought that off, especially since Emilito really was ill.

Kelly, I agree that Aurora should stop lying to Roberto. That's only making things worse, since he invariably finds out she's not telling him the truth. In an earlier discussion, I defended her decision not to mention that Juanjo was in Chicago, but ¡ya basta!

Grace, not all that much happened between Aurora and Juanjo other than some heart-to-heart talk. Aurora's stay in Chicago was cut short after she learned that Roberto was on his way. She returned home. But Roberto, of course, is furious that Aurora and Juanjo were both there.

By the way, since you clearly have access to the Internet, you can probably find all the episodes (starting with #1) available on Telemundo's website (www.telemundo.com). I clicked on the box containing the most recent episode. That went to a page where the current episode started to play, but also on the same page were all the earlier ones.

Grace, nothing happened except a lot of eye contact and subtle flirtation. Aurora knew that Rob was risking his poor health to take an emergency flight to Chicago ...after he learned that Juanjo was also there. Aurora returned home first thing in the morning and Rob arrived a few minutes later so they missed each other. I don't remember how he explained to Cris why he wasted time and money for just a few minutes in Chicago.
